Just a little younger than Erwin Olaf, but seeing both photographers photo’s you can conclude that they are from the same generation and inspired each other. Tollens is an Erwin Olaf 2.0? ……

far from that, because this is an artist with a keen eye on her surroundings and placing objects in such a way that they become something else and have a different meaning . WE LOVE CORNELIE TOLLENS The campaign for RUE 13 is shot by the famous Dutch photographer Cornelie Tollens. RUE 13 has chosen Cornelie as a photographer for the campaign, because we think her work reflects woman who aren’t afraid to make a statement and that are confident with their femininity. She mostly portrays women in a way that can be seen as shocking to the more prudish and demure people. Other people can see her work as wholly female. These sumptuous images portray women ravenous with desire – desire for love and pleasure, a dark romance that is costumed in world of fantasies. Using mythic and popular symbols and types Tollens’ subverts the erotic language of the body. The images of Cornelie Tollens’ tempt, delight and terrify depending on the audience, just as powerful, seductive and sexually rapacious women have for millennia.
