Gen Z in Gotham is just wild overall, because imagine how many dead inside memes they could make with constant Rogue attacks. Also, I bet there are reaction pics of all the superheroes going around

Do you think "Riddle me this, Batman?" has become a common lexicon among Gothamnites for when they don't understand something?

I like to think it has. I like to think they've heard The Riddler say it one too many times, and now it's just ingrained into their collective psyches in much the same way as "No shit, Sherlock" is.

I also like to imagine Bruce Wayne making a rare appearance at a corporate meeting, and the latest Gen Z hire, a generation that infamously doesn't fuck with formal office corporate speak, just leans over the table and says, "Okay, I hear what you're saying, but riddle me this, Batman," and Bruce tries not to choke on his coffee.

DPxDC Dead Tired Coffeeshop Accident

For one reason or another, Danny is now living in Gotham and working in a coffeeshop. For one reason or another, Tim frequents the same coffeeshop.

Now, both of them are honest to god messes who treat sleep like a grave enemy. Meaning they both survive on coffee, spite, energy drinks, and their respective hyperfocuses.

They don't even talk, really, they just see each other from time to time: Tim knows the barista who looks like he's been dead for weeks is named Danny, and Danny knows how to make Tim's Death Wish with his eyes closed, but other than that, they are just strangers who largely don't care about each other.

That is, until one time after his patrol, Tim comes to the said coffeeshop in his Red Robin gear. He doesn't even think about it, he simply needs coffee. He comes to the counter. He orders. His voice is tired and emotionless. He just wants his coffee and maybe stare at a wall for a few hours until his brain reboots. Danny takes his order without even looking at him. He has been sitting and staring at a wall for a few hours, night shifts are literally killing him.

They are both so done.

Red Robin waits for his coffee. Danny makes it almost automatically, his mind elsewhere. The coffeeshop is empty, save for them two. It's four in the morning. Nothing feels real.

Danny sets the cup on the counter.

"One Death Wish for Tim," he says out of a habit, not fully registering they are alone, and he doesn't need to do that.

Tim takes the coffee without thinking, nods a silent 'thank you'. Brings the cup up to his mouth-

And notices a glove on his own hand.

He is in Red Robin get up.

He freezes and looks at the barista, who is cleaning the coffeemachine. Danny, noticing him looking, also looks back at him. Did he make the wrong order? He knows Tim's soul, he's seen it a lot, he couldn't have mistaken him for anyone else, but maybe he forgot to add syrup?..

There's a domino mask on Tim's face. A vigilante domino mask.

They stare at each other. No one moves. No one blinks. The sun is rising somewhere over the city.

Tim takes a sip of his coffee. Danny goes back to cleaning the coffeemachine.

They never speak of this again, but Tim becomes a regular here in both of his personas.

have tryed out clip studio paint!!! my thoughts: neat but a bit hard to control. love love how i can sketch on here though. looks and works a lot like paper so mabey this will be how i get more digital sketching done!! ibis paint is still better for super finnished arts i think.

the way that from under the cork tree and so much (for) stardust carry so many of the same sentiments and motivations, but one is this younger, anger-driven explosion of emotion that is in turn fueled by and paralyzed by its own range and the other is the more mature processing of those emotions and helplessness.

in so much (for) stardust, instead of letting anger and helplessness push you to a sort of frozen state where you’re just angry at your own helplessness, there is optimism but also motivation and release that comes in recognizing life is short and possibly meaningless but you still have to live. the anger is still there. the helplessness is still there. it’s just handled and experienced differently now that you are different and have different responsibilities.

The cork board of mystery files is such a vibe. Like it has the chaotic energy needed for the conspiracy theories and random stuff out in there but is also organized in a surprisingly easy way.

I love misheard Fall Out Boy lyrics. Joke me something awful just like kisses on the necks of best friends just friends. Fresh-pressed suit and tie, I'm desperate to unimpressed birds sing and die. Singing vows before we exchange small grins smoke rings. He's well hung and I am hanging on up. Wouldn't you rather be a weirdo widow than a diva scene divorcee? Spark my crazy head to keep you warm and alive your woman alive. Imperfect boys and their perfect crimes lives, nobody wants to hear you sing about Kennedy tragedy.

He never mentions it. He figures if it's been going on for so long, it must mean the CEO must be okay with it, so he keeps going like nothing has happened.

A few more months pass like this, and then, suddenly, the notes are gone. One day without the usual comment to his blueprints is okay, two is fine, three is, well, alright, but it's been two weeks, and now Danny is worried.

But how exactly do you approach a CEO while being just a regular employee? It's not like he can just show up to his office, and, besides, Mr. Drake is working from home most times.

So the solution he comes to?

Go ghost, become invisible, and visit Tim's office to check up on him, when he arrives.

He doesn't expect to see the guy storm into his office, grab a humongous first-aid kit from the cabinet, and strip to reveal hastily, badly bandaged bullet wounds in his abdomen.

DPxDC Idea

Danny working at Wayne Enterprises as some sort of engineer, uses the in-house app for all his blueprints and stuff

He starts getting notes from a coworker in-app, and assumes its this annoying older guy in his department who constantly undermines him because of his age, despite his education and past achievements (i feel like in this AU the Fentons react well to the reveal and they work together on a number of non-lethal ecto inventions that have Danny's name attached to them)

Except one day his coworker mentions never using the app, and Danny suddenly realizes there's only one other TD he could've been arguing with in the notes of the app

so i made some things….

the bag was made entirely from plastic shopping bags. it got 3rd mostly bc of how small it was, but im a little salty bc the 1st place was entered in the wrong category (Recycled Articles > Useful > Any Other, but it shouldve been in Useful > Fabric) and a LOT salty bc the 2nd place was shouldve been in Recycled Articles > Decorative > Wood

the gloves were obviously a close race. first place had a better cast on edge (mine flares out) and the first place for the ““sleeveless sweaters”” was absolutely beautiful and intricate bc judith doesn’t fuck around

I always get nervous my characterization of certain characters is bad or off but I definitely need to stop basing that off of other interpretations... obviously, as different people, we'll all see certain characters in a different light. I don't think most interpretations are wrong, just very interesting. I like seeing the inferences people make about all the parts of characters we aren't explicitly shown.

Sunstreaker is a character I'm especially interested in characterizing properly, probably because he's a sociopath. And the split spark stuff is also super interesting to me since Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are so different. I did a whole lot of yapping about them to my best friend and came to this conclusion: yes, there are many factors* that make their relationship complicated, but it's also one of those things you just don't need to question. Obviously, they're going to fight. Often. They're siblings. But at the end of the day they're going to be fine. They've known each other for too long, and they know each other too well, to break up for good.

We don't really get to see how they dealt with issues, probably just throttled each other tbh, but I think you can make a multitude of guesses and still characterize them properly.

(*"factors" being Sideswipe wanting to get out of Sunstreaker's shadow, Sunstreaker's sociopathic tendencies, etc etc etc... you know them.)
