Pairing: Coriolanus Snow x fem!reader
Summary: you and Sejanus make a bet involving you and Coriolanus, that youâll have to become a couple in order to get some money from him, but everything changes when the two of you fall in love for each other for real. Â
Warnings: fake dating AU, (kinda) enemies to lovers, bet to fall in love trope (if I can call it like that), sunshine x grumpy/black cat x golden retriever trope, light violence and mention of blood, romance, comedy (I think), (probably) slow burn, fluff, angst
Word count: every chapter of the series will have a different amount of wordsÂ
A/N: hi! Here we go with my first Coriolanus story!! I donât know if Coriolanus is OOC here, because I watched the movie like one month ago and I still have to read the book, but I did my best to make him similar to the character I saw. Anyway this is a fanfiction, so please donât be mad at me if heâll be, Iâll probably need him to be for the storyline. I apologize to the people in the tags, because Iâm really late with the upload, but Iâve been really busy in the past few weeks. Anyway, I hope you like it. Enjoy! XÂ

Prologue â Donât fall in love with meÂ
âCoriolanus Snow? Are you sure?â
âYeah. Whatâs the matter, Y/N? You think you canât make him fall in love with you?â Sejanus asks with a grin.Â
âOh no, I was just thinking about the amount of money youâre gonna give me when Iâll winâ.
âDonât, heâs not easyâ.
âA challenge, uh? Even better!â You exclaim. âNow excuse me, but I have to go. Before your last drink, watch me sing and put under my spell mister Coriolanus Snowâ.
âCareful, Y/N. You donât wanât to fall in love, right? People say heâs got a very cute pair of blue eyesâ.
âI prefer the color green as my money, Sejanus. Prepare to loseâ.
âI think you donât know whatâs coming for you, Y/Nâ.
You run to the stage, your place in the world, where you can finally give free scope to your passion: singing. Singing has always made you feel free, but tonight, perhaps due to the tension of the challenge, you feel a constriction in your chest. You and a little tipsy Sejanus have agreed on a bet against Coriolanus, but you have a better idea to win: you will tell him everything immediately, in order to pretend to be together for a while, so Sejanus will pay you and you will split the money with Coriolanus. No one will be fooled in the end, right? And then everyone knows that he needs that money too, so he certainly won't suffer from it. While you taste the victory on the tip of your tongue, the words escape your mouth. You apologize to the audience and your gaze falls right on Coriolanus, who isn't paying you the slightest attention, while he's drinking a beer on the sidelines, his Peacekeeper uniform making his eyes as blue as the tide stand out. Sure, Sejanus was right, but that doesn't change anything: a pair of light eyes isn't enough to make you fall in love.
Coriolanus Snow goes to the Academy, he dresses well, but that doesn't mean he's rich, far from it. You, on the other hand, were kicked out of the Academy because you didn't like their behavior, which is why Sejanus is your best friend. You always had the feeling that Coriolanus liked to follow the rules, but in reality he probably preferred to have control, power or money more than a conscience. That's why he's never been kicked out and you've never particularly bonded. It's not that you're greedy, no, it's just that you need money for your family and if a stupid bet can get it easily, then you will do anything to earn it, since the pub doesn't pay you enough for your fantastic shows. And anyway, Coriolanus is certainly an attractive guy, which isn't a bad thing.
âThis song is dedicated to all the handsome blue-eyed boys here,â you announce, then grin, while some of your fellow soldiers make fun of Coriolanus and he finally notices your presence. âThis song is called Nothing you can take from me and I dedicate it to my old school friend, Coriolanus Snow. Come say hello to me later, Coryo!â You exclaim with a wink and notice his gaze shift to you. For a second, just one, you feel a shiver run down your spine. You would never have believed that playing with fire could make you feel so cold.
Your song makes everyone present dance, everyone except him obviously, who continues to stare at you coldly, without smiling or saying a word, like a marble statue and this almost scares you. It also happened at the Academy, but there you didn't pay attention to it, also because there was no need to win his attention, but here there is a lot of money at stake and you need it desperately.
You descend onto the stage with a feline leap, you leave your guitar aside, while a roar of applause and compliments accompanies you behind the scenes, hoping that Coriolanus will follow you. The door closes behind you, but when you turn around, no one is there. Well, no big deal, it means you'll go look for it later or tomorrow at the latest, there's no rush anyway. But you feel observed and this sensation worries you a lot: it's as if you have someone behind your back.
"Well?"
You turn around, surprised that he's there. Up close he's taller than you remember and you can see his blonde hair well, even though it's shaved. His arms are crossed as he looks you up and down, but without eyeballing you, just a look of pure curiosity painted on his face. So why do you feel like a hunted animal?
âCoryoâ.
"Do not call me that. You asked me to come here, right? You asked for my attention in front of everyone. I'm here now. What, the cat got your tongue?â He asks you, a crooked smile somewhere between amused and mischievous that gives a sinister light to his face. He has enough charm to seem like the Devil.
âDon't get any illusions, it's just a gameâ.
âI don't like playing and you don't like winning, as far as I know.â
âThose games are abominable and I think you know it too, since you're here, right?â You ask him. His smile fades and inside you rejoice, because you know you've hit the mark.
âSpeak quickly, Y/N, the rooster crows early in the morning.â
âI have a proposition for you,â you tell him, getting dangerously close to him. He doesn't take a step back, but you see him on guard, almost as if he expects to be stabbed at any moment. âI bet Sejanus that I would make you fall in love with me,â you reveal to him and he smiles wickedly. âI only did it because he promised me money in return and my family needs it. I'm telling you this because I think we could pretend to be together for a while so he'll think we're really in love. In the end, I will split the money with you, since you need it as much as I do,â you explain to him.
For a moment, he observes you, perhaps because he is trying to understand whether you are sincere or not, then he nods, his face serious.
âYou know, maybe I was wrong about you: you like winning as much as I do.â
âI wouldn't play if it wasn't for a serious reason. We both know that Sejanus pays and well."
âBut he's your friend, right? I wonder why he is doing all this."
âMaybe he's just bored.â
âPerhaps,â Coriolanus repeats, thoughtfully. âAnyway, Tigris must never know. I only ask for this in return,â he says and you offer him your hand.
"Deal".
âAnd try not to fall in love with me, Y/N. Unlike many others, I don't like playing. You wouldn't survive."
âThere's no danger, Coriolanus,â you say, shaking his hand.
Now you feel less sure: why do you feel like you've just sealed a pact with the Devil?

Backwards reflection
Summary: Coriolanus deals wiht the war inside his head. You might be too alike after all, but maybe that's why you need each other. Facing the ugly sides is a mirror you have grown to love.
Pairing: Sub!Coriolanus Snow x Dom!reader
Warnings: Coriolanus and reader (edge lords who are a bit fucked in the head), angst, making out, fighting, lots of inner angst and bad emotions for both parties, brief fight, kissing, technically some nudity(nothing happens just touch starvation)
A/N: this tired me out emotionally and physically but I live making this man pathetic. Part three will include smut.(finally)
Word count: 3.2k
[Part 1] [Masterlist]
Coriolanus Snow who never acted out after the incident. Sure there were times where your behavior got on his nerves but you'd grown familiar with his responses and moods so you soothed his anger with a loving touch and he as always gave in.
Coriolanus Snow who had never realized how good it felt to be spoiled. He had never allowed himself the thought of relinquishing his control in any way to someone, it was all he had during the harder days. But with you here? Sure you hadnt given him much of a choice in the beginning, but you cared for him in the transactional way he did for you.
You loved each other the only way you could, and most days that was enough.
Most of his time was still spent juggling the Academy and keeping his reputation pristine but there was no need to be as obsessed with it as before. He'd give himself a breather sit and smell the roses(literaly). He'd sit in parks and indulge in using the lavish Capitol public transport with the card you'd given him. He discovers how limited his world has been, it hadn't occurred to him to think about the spaces inbetween the Academy and his home. He visits parks and gardens, cafes and restaurants. He meets a lot of his classmates outside of school, albeit it involuntarily, but still he indulges in their company now that the look of their inherited riches doesn't make him sick. He strengthens his bonds and positions. He feels good.
âCoriolanus Snow who enjoys life under your thumb. You are aware of everything he does, who he meets and where he goes, what he buys. He never asks from where you get your information, you never answer anyways. He is behaving himself for now, so you alow him to roam freely but both of you know you'll clip his wings faster than he could comprehend if it came down to it.
âCoriolanus Snow who spends most of his free time with you. At first it felt obligatory to be seen with you but now seeing you, talking with you, eating praise at the palm of your hand it felt like second nature.
You'd attend parties together, matching clothes in reds and whites. At first you'd allowed for his tailored clothes to show the symbol of his family but slowly you'd started to incorporate the crest of your family on it instead. Soon enough he was walking around branded as yours.
âCoriolanus Snow who on good days felt triumphant, like he had won the lottery with this deal. Who would beam at you as you'd eat in some fancy restaurant, intertwining your hands together and going as far as to feed you from his plate if he deemed the dish so good.
âCoriolanus who nuzzles his cheek into yours and the tip of his cold nose brushed yours and he laughed. A pure and beautiful sound you don't hear too often, you'd buy it if you could, alas it was too priceless.
âCoriolanus who viewed you as his in his own way. You had become the center of his universe(on purpose) and he enjoyed it. Always having a gentle soft hand on your lower back, not so much guiding you but holding onto you. Coriolanus who held you tightly on the new matress you'd bough together as a form of shopping date, like you were his personal stuffed toy. You wouldn't admit you enjoyed it. But you did.
âCoriolanus Snow who on good days relishes into the feeling of being known wholly and still accepted. Who enjoyed walking around without the weight of a bravado or mask. Coriolanus Snow who loved you without fear.
âčCoriolanus Snow who on bad days lived in constant fear that he wouldn't live up to the transaction and you'd leave him. He'd seen hiw fast you cut other people, how fast and with no warning you left him when he stepped out of line.
He comforts himself with the thought that you'd spent way too much money on him to just dump him out of the blue, as long as he behaved. That you could fix him, mend him, shape him however you liked and he'd let you. He'd let you shatter him if it meant you'd continue to (love) support him.
âčCoriolanus Snow who on bad days would study and work hard even harder than before. A part of him hated hiw easily he had slipped into your trap. How vulnerable to your whims hr had become, how dependent he was. He was scared you'd pull the rug and all would fall apart underneath him, his last chance at a future outside of poverty.
His whole demeanor would be off and you could tell immediately that it was one of his bad days even before he answered your daily calls on the phone you bought him. When he got into his fits of studying out of misery he became almost unreachable, he knew you were the one calling. I mean, no one else could call him.
He'd answer eventually and you'd invite hik to dinner in your house. Sometimes when he really had to study for a test you wouldn't force him to come, you still wanted him to actually have good grades, its among the things you like most about him. But now you know by the tiredness and lack of emotion in his short answers that he was simply not in a good place.
And he'd come at the designated hour, politely knock and make small talk with your parents. They weren't fully aware of your deal, they could see the indent of the money in your bank account but also it was money they had given to you to use however you liked so they didn't ask too much questions. If all of you started poking your nose in each other's business your family would fall apart.
Your parents liked Coriolanus, that meant they didn't mind you spending time with him or spending money on him. They also didn't mind it when you excuse the both of you from dinner in the grand hall and lead Coriolanus up to your room where a small feast was organized.
You'd walk ahead even if Coriolanus knew the path by heart, he spent a lot of time here. While his apartment had gotten a few renovations it was still showing all the signs of his finances demise, how he truly didn't belong in the world he was trying to be in. His envy and pride had kept him going blindly for uears to come, it's not like he had much choice. It was that or giving up and letting all the two people he cared about die with him.
In all his years he hadn't allowed himself to stop, to weaver, to be shaken for long from his future position, almost like it was promised to him. His circumstances didn't allow for anything else. Now he had too much time to sit with his own thoughts. Too much time to reminiscent about how much he had taken from Tigris'es youth, to notice how old grandma'am had become. How fragile his little world was.
Coriolanus'es heavy monotony steps echo behind you, you walk with your chin high and fight the urge to turn around to look at him. You know he is there. But you still want to see if he is with you, or lost in his own self made prison by your doing.
You reach your room and Coriolanus goes to open it by muscle memory. His gaze is still unfocused and far away and the thin layer of skin around his eyes seems worn out and raw. It makes something stir inside you, anger. He is wearing one of the cotton shirts you had given him, plain and simple with some blue pants that reached hus ankles. The necklace you'd given him for your first supposed "anniversary" sat prettily on his collarbone. It was a simple rose gold chain with a small pendant of your family's crest: the version was simplified but the branches of the walnut trees that made up a circular frame and the small image of lion stood proudly in its middle, teeth bared. The chain wasn't long, and it made it accidentally(completely on purpose) seem like a collar. The sight puts you a bit at ease.
You both enter your spacious room, it smells faintly of the perfume you wear. On the large bed lay multiple trays with lavish dishes all unique, with different protein or no protein, depending on what the both of you would prefer. Corio rarely would turn up his nose at something, for reasons that were never spoken but understood. You watched him suffer through a bean based dish once and decided not to do it again.
Usually by this point the sight and smell of your signature scent, the warmth of your room and the aroma of food would calm his mind and bring some light back into him, but today he seemed too far gone.
Even as you both sat on the bed, the matress dipping under your weight, he ate a few bites and most of the time simply keep his gaze occupied with something else. It made some sort of anger rise in you. You tell you're you are angry because he isn't cooperating, that you've spent so much on him and he doesn't enjoy it, that he is being selfish. The soft metal of your fork seems entirely too bendable in your tight fist. You tell yourself you hate it when he isn't acting like you want him too, it's not being you hate your own powerlessness, that you can't fix this by throwing money. You could lie, but you don't.
The whirling of emotions claw its way from your gut through your lungs and throat, where it begs to be released in harsh words and imbalanced actions. Your mind grows dull of reason and your tongue sharpens. But you are better than this. You have self control. You have the control.
"I have not poisnoned the food, no need to check it."
You bite out as coldly as you can, if you don't you might burn him with your own powerlessness. His gaze momentarily shifts upwards and to you, his eyes have a yellowing touch to them and the veins are prominant and red, eyes glassy hopefully from reading and writting for so long.
"I never thought you had."
"Is there another reason you arent eating then? Perhaps the food is not up to par?"
You can hear the barely hidden venom in your voice. He can hear it too. The air feels tense and almost weavers as you both look at each other. Corio as always reads you as well as you read him and quickly becomes defensive from his own powerlessness.
"The food is lovely."
He spats back at you with a forced angry smile. This was it. You were getting tired of him and his leaching off of you. The same way the charm of a Christmas puppy would wear off after a month or two so had his own twisted charisma. He would be thrown out in the cold and left to starve, quite literally like a dog. The betrayal made his chest flare up, it set something ablaze.
Both of you stand there the embodiment of pride as all can be heard is the faint sound of the ambient music from downstairs piano and the sound of both of your breathing. That and the blood rushing through your ears. Both of you stoically and pridefully guard their response and face, force of habit from the years of play pretend.
This was the hard thing about this comrades, deal, relationship of yours, you were the same. This puzzle pieces etched from the same wood that fit together in a way no one else could. But once theatching ugly sides were facing you couldn't even be close.
His brows scrunch firtger together and he seems to be loosing the inner fight with his head just as you are. Emotions got the best of him. The best of you.
So you pulled him by the chain and smashed your lips against his.
The unspoken argument was still hot on his lips but so were your own as then mended together. His lips were as soft as you had imagined on one occasion. At first he didn't respond, not expecting for you to allow him to stay. He thought you'd finally force him to leave.
His lack of response doesn't stop you, you double down and place your hands on either side of his jaw, digging your short manicured nails into the warm flesh under where his ear and jaw meet. You were going to keep him here with you, not his stupid head, not his hatred and fear, not inside the prison of his mind, with you.
It seemed to snap Coriolanus back to life. In a flash his eyes close and his lips move against yours, the kiss is slow but very raw. His teeth brush against yours and his lips redden and glisten as they dance with yours. It's not a fight for dominance like you'd expect, it feels like you are trying to consume each other until you are one. His hands dig into the cotton material of your house clothes. They lacked the usual designer brand and rich material you usually sported, it made him feel a bit better, it made you feel barer.
His nails dig crescents into the skin of your lower back, his warm hands had found their anchor underneath your shirt and on your body.
You were warm, so so warm. And he felt like he was dying of the cold, in his apartment, in his bed, in his body. He felt cold. He wanted to be warmed by you, that's all he wanted.
You take a step closer and now your clotyed chest is against his, your hands have found their way in his hair and his own are resting in a tight embrace on your back underneath the cloth. You pull off of the kiss breathless and a bit hazy minded, you'd never done that before and judging by the disheveled boy woth dilated eyes and lips redden by your chapstick he was feeling the effect of making out for the first time.
It proved more addicting than you had expected and after quickly putting the trays with almsot untouched food on your vanity you quickly crawl on the bed to continue. It was head-spinning and electric, it made your body shiver as you got lost in it. Maybe a more rational part of you would have done things differently, made you the seductress, made you the one in control, but your hormones were raging and Coriolanus was kissing you like he's trying to fry his brain up and fill the black hole in his chest. You couldn't pull away, it felt like all the barriers set up by society, yourself, your image and even the physical form were blurring and evaporating, especially as Coriolanus's lips trailed lower and kissed and nipped at your jaw and neck.
The movements were desperate, like he was trying to crawl in your skin. You weren't much better as your hands skimmed up and down his back, underneath the layers to feel his hot back, he felt like a furnace against you.
"Coriolan-"
"Corio, please call me Corio"
He muttered into your neck, his body weight was almost fully on you, only held up by his knees on either side of your hips and one hand that squished the pillow next to your head. It made your brain go quiet for a few seconds but you didn't want that. This was all going wrong. You are supposed to be in control.
So you grab him by the neck, you nails leave pink marks on the sides of the sweaty flesh and you make him look in your eyes and stop lavishing your neck.
"Who do you belong to, Corio?"
Your voice didn't carry the same steelness to it as ususal but it came out as a threats hiss and that was enough for you. At first he didn't react his wide pupils made his eyes seem almost black. Then he opens his mouth and wrapped his lips around words he couldn't stomach before.
"Im yours, Im yours, y/n. Let me be yours, please"
It's whiny and desperate, a bit tearfully if you listened closely. It soothes something deep inside of you but your expression doesn't let up, scrunching into an deadly grimace, the hand at his neck tightens until you can feel his thriving heartbeat against your palm.
"If you think there is some way for you to escape from me you are wrong. No one can help you, no man, no woman. You are mine, and you will like it"
You gritt out and you can feel a vein pop on your face as you stare unforgiving at him, as if it will drill it in his head and keep him happy. Because you wanted him happy.
His lips are half open and his eyes are doe wide, maybe it's the fact this sick proclamation soothes him, or maybe it's the fact he sees the weakness inside of you that makes him feel better. He doesn't know. He hasn't been thinking straight since he crawled on your bed. He leans down and a stray curl of his blond hair coiled and brushed against your forearm. His lips meet with your wrist and he places such a delicate kiss there you almost believe he cares about you. It halts your bravado and gives him enough time to lift his gaze you and look at you through his lashes.
"You are all that matteres to me. You are everything that i have. Let me be yours."
He says and drops his hand down so his forehead lays at the back of your hand. His words and the shock from there seeming sincerely makes your hold loosen. His lips are at your knuckles and he holds your smaller hand in both of his like he is praying at deity. For all he cares, you are his religion and sacred salvation. The closest his soul will get to accending is when he is pressed so tightly against you he confuses what is his and what is yours.
"i love you the only way i know how to. I'll make it be enough for you. Ill be enough for you."
You don't know what to say. No response cokes and you are scare of what will come.ojt even if it did. You have no words for hik to soothe his longing, you don't know how. Your armor stands shining as he bears himself for you.
You press your lips to the crown of his head and keep them there, you envelope his head in your hands and bring him back to you. He eagerly let's you move him as you like and when he rests his head against your now bare chest It makes something click in his brain. He takes off his won shirt and lays back down with you.
You can't say if he simply clinging to you or the otger way around. All you know is that you feel warm. You feel good. The cold ess is gone and you are here with him. With Corio, with your Corio who you love, you don't know how or where to even begin to understand this twisted version of something supposedly innocent. All you know is you belong with him.
He belongs to you. He isn't going anywhere and judging by how comfortable he is underneath your heavy duvet and in your arms, nestled on the warm skin of your chest, he doesn't plan on going anywhere either.
In the end you got what you want.
Coriolanus wanted you willingly, even if this wasn't the path you thought it would take.
Doesn't matter, you always won in the end. Right?
(Im gonna make them both suffer yall)

Fake-Love | C.S.
summary: a boy was bothering you, so you and Coriolanus take it into your own hands.
pairing: university!coriolanus snow x fem!reader
includes: a very unstable, toxic relationship between the two, (arranged marriage), making out, comments toward the readerâs body, implied sex (it isnât written), mentions of murder
a/n: soooo, as i write for the Silver Roses & Fallen Snow series, i decided to write a billion one-shot for our favorite blond to keep the era for him alive so i can finish my series đ«Ą. also, the uniforms are based of the gilmore girlsâ one, since they are in university now and not academy.
The arranged marriage between the Snows and the Edevanes were always doomed to happen. You were born the same year as Coriolanus, and your families were already close with each other.
It was just, you and Coriolanus despised one another.
The feeling was 100% mutual. The reasoning for such a feud was due to the never ending fight for the brightest student in the Capitol. During your years in Academy, it was a tie in every class. Of course, your hatred for one another was more tame.
It only really changed when Coriolanus came back from serving the Districts as a peacekeeper. There was something about his demeanor that was much different, plus the way he was built could have made you weak in the knees.
He joined University a little after it had started for your class, but that didnât stop him from becoming the best. You were currently the top of your class in University, but that changed when he joined under Dr. Gaul. His jabs to your reputation were much stronger than in Academy. He would make comments about you when walking down the hall behind you, making sure you understood that he would do whatever it took to be back on top.
So, when your parents dropped the bomb on you that you were to be engaged to Coriolanus as soon as possible, your blood boiled at the male. You could not believe he stooped that low to get back at you.
And about a few weeks after the initial announcement, you and Coriolanus officially got engaged, becoming the sudden talk of the Capitol.
âHow did you keep your dating life such a huge secret?â A reporter stuck their microphone up to your face as you and Coriolanus exited a car together.
âWell, we were just so love struck with one another that we didnât want others to know.â Coriolanus smiled, answering the question for you.
His arm was looped around yours as you were guided into the University, answering all the questions being asked of you both. The moment you stepped inside the school grounds you let go of the male, dusting off your uniformâs plaid skirt.
âWhat time do your classes end?â He muttered toward you, adjusting his own uniform.
âI have study hall all day, Iâll be done whenever you are.â You state as you head for the library, ignoring the icy stare your fiancĂ© was giving you.
Since Coriolanus studied under Dr. Gaul, you knew you would have to stay a lot longer in the Universityâs library than usual, but you did not necessarily care. You had textbook assignments due, and it was an opportunity to get everything done.
That was the goal until a first year at the University started bothering you.
âI told you, Iâm busy.â You stand from your seat, furrowing your brows at the young male. âIf youâll excuse me, I have to go find a book for my psychology lessons.â
âAw, donât be lame.â He inched toward you, grabbing your wrist. âWhy donât we have our own fun instead? Iâm sure youâre just as beautiful underneath your skirt.â
Your eyes harden at his words and mess with your engagement ring, âYouâll have to excuse me, I have to be somewhere.â
Swiftly, you weave through the different shelves full of books. You swore under your breath when you hear the footsteps of the male behind you, sharply turning into a more secluded space. To your surprise, you found Coriolanus pulling books from the Hunger Games previous years.
âWhat are you doing in here?â You question, quickly moving around to his left. âI thought Dr. Gaul needed you today?â
âShe wanted me to understand the history of the previous games to help with the programming and DNA of new animals.â He mumbled, looking through a thick book from the first Hunger Games. âWhat are you doing?â
âThis guy was hitting on me.â You shrug, meeting Coriolanusâ darkened eyes. âWhat?â
âWhat guy?â He placed the books down on a cart, grabbing your chin.
You bite the inside of your cheek, âI donât know his name, but heâs a first year here. Why do you care so much?â
âBecause, gorgeous, youâre my fiancĂ©e. Any guy who even looks your way that isnât me is dead.â He backed you into the shelf, hand still tight on your chin. âDid he saying anything or touch you?â
âYes.â You whisper, gaze dropping to his lips before back up to his darkened blue eyes. âHe grabbed my wrist and said that âIâm probably just as beautiful underneath my skirtâ.â
Coriolanus took his other hand and firmly placed it on your hip, eyes wandering your face. âIâll kill him.â
You turn your head to the side as you heard footsteps nearing before Coriolanus slammed his lips onto yours, pulling your body close to his. You wrap your arms around his neck, deepening the kiss without a care in the world.
âMm, Coryoââ You part, feeling your skirt hike up. âAre you insane?â
âMaybe.â He chuckles, shutting you up with a harder kiss, slipping his tongue through your parted mouth.
Coriolanus changes his hold on you, both hands now on your waist. You shift your hips, earning a quiet groan from the male. He retaliates by tracing a hand up to your throat, slightly squeezing it which earned a moan coming from you.
âOh, so youâre just a whore.â The male scoffed from the front of the aisle, looking at the couple.
âKill him?â You ask between kisses, tugging at his tie. Truly, you didnât know he would take that request to heart as the male soon was deemed missing a day later. But for now, you were caught up in the heat.
Coriolanus grins, leaving one last kiss to your swollen lips. âHe talks to my soon to be wife like that, itâll be worse than a quick kill.â

He was back to ignoring you again.
But this time, the feeling was mutual. Youâd never felt as thoroughly rejected as you did the night he had you walk back to your room, legs weak, wrapped in nothing but his shirt.
Once upon a time, this scenario would have been one you dreamed of, but reality often falls flat on its face. You wouldnât have dreamt of walking away from him like this if youâd known it would feel this empty.
Humiliation ran rampant through your body, starting with the tears you blinked away as you left his room, closing the door behind you, and then flooding over as you stepped into your own room, slumping on the bed, curling up into yourself and weeping, pressing your still aching legs together but too upset to finish yourself off.
You kicked yourself for getting carried away, for getting too loud, too possessive with his face between your thighs and your hand in his hair. For getting so caught up in the moment, briefly forgetting your games, and for believing even for a second that you would be on the same page.
This push and pull had begun to wear you thin, and you were tired. So, you slept. Until nearly midday the next morning, when Lucille knocked on your door to remind you it was time for your monthly PR debrief.
The good news, though arguable at this point, was that your arrangement hadnât been affected by recent events. At least, not on paper. Cordelia ran you through each gala, public appearance, and dinner, barely noticing your preoccupation, rambling on about speeches, coordinating outfits, dates and times of events, what to say and how to say it.
For you - and you could only imagine, Coriolanus too - everything had changed over the span of a month.Â
Your shame made you abnormally quiet, head hung low, gaze averted, nodding along as Cordelia prompted either a response or approval from you. Snow just stared, glancing at her only when completely necessary, but otherwise, he didnât take his eyes off you.
He was enjoying this. The sick fuck. You were glad when the meeting ended and you could scamper into the library, eager to lose yourself in a story of any kind other than the one you were living.
This went on. By day, you barely looked at him; by night, you tried over and over to prove that your own fingers were enough to keep you satisfied. To convince yourself that you just wanted him, you didnât need him.
Because if you needed him, then he called the shots. He would win. And victorious as he may seem, the game wasnât over yet. Youâd slipped up in a moment of vulnerability, heâd tricked you into a corner just to prove his point.
You wanted him, you didnât need him. But if you did⊠well.
He was going to have to need you more.
You held back this time. Keeping your cards safe, close to your chest. In a strange way, you found a kind of solace in your arrangement. Recent events had caused it to feel unstable, breakable even, but the meeting had ensured that it was all still on the right track. It allowed you to take a small piece of what you wanted from him without guilt or repercussions. After all, it was planned out to benefit you both. Then, when you were ready, and with a gentle hand, you began to weaponise it, loading it up in the barrel of a gun aimed directly at Snow.
You didn't have much left, but you had this. You knew where your promiscuity had led you. This time, you wanted to pull on his heart strings. Make him feel remorse, or whatever similar emotion he was capable of. Make him soften to you. Torture him with almosts that were never enough.
So when you took, you took cautiously, tentatively. You deepened your usually light kisses to what was just past socially acceptable, only to pull back when Snow began to lean in, turning away and smiling at the people surrounding you, or full-on entering into conversation with somebody else. You'd brush your thumb against his when you held hands, waiting for him to look at you, drawing your hand away when he did. You'd offer smiles to everyone but him, talk and laugh a little louder when you could feel him watching.
You pretended he didnât exist. You could feel him begin to simmer. It wasn't as brazen as your usual game, but it was working.
Until it wasnât.
âSomethingâs wrong, what is it?â
Lucilleâs face dropped, her shaking hands lowering from the zip she was struggling with. You were getting ready for a luncheon, and youâd picked out an emerald green dress, one of your favorites for daytime events.
âIâd hoped you wouldnât notice, maâam. I apologise. Itâs my brother, he⊠itâs getting worse again.â
âSit down for a second. Talk to me. Whatâs going on?â
You listened to Lucille open up uncomfortably, visibly nervous that you would offer your financial support as youâd done before. But you didnât, sparing her from having to turn you down.
Lucille was stubborn - she would never accept your charity. She was more than happy to work for her wages, and frequently worked longer hours. As months went by, youâd brought her pay up as high as you could without her noticing. But now things were getting more critical, and you knew there was only one thing you could do.
âWhy donât you take the rest of the day off? Go and see your brother.â
âBut youâre not dressed-â
âIâll take care of it. Go home, Lucille. Iâll see you tomorrow, okay?â
She smiled softly.
âThank you, maâam.â
Youâd tried with the zip, you really had. You didnât want to have to knock on Snowâs office door with two favors to ask instead of one, but the dress was tight and the zip kept getting jammed. So, there you stood, dress half undone at the back, heart in your throat. You counted your blessings; at least it wasnât his bedroom. You didnât think you could face him at all in there. You heard typing from inside.
âCome in.â
You pushed the door open, feeling like an intruder.
âSorry, I just⊠Could you help me with this?â Your hand tightened behind your back, holding the dress together.
He narrowed his eyes. He was already in his suit, typewriter on the desk in front of him.
âLucille forget how to do her job?â
âI donât need snide right now. Please, Coriolanus? Iâll explain when Iâm not half naked. Itâs drafty in here.â
You tried to make it clear in your tone that this wasnât some ploy. You werenât sure you had many of those left to offer.
âFine.â He sighed, and stood, making no motion towards you, so you crossed the room, gripping onto the fabric, turning your back to him.
His hand came to rest on your waist as the other took the zipper, and you tried not to flinch at his touch. You pressed your lips together as he carefully zipped you up, cold metal sending a chill down your spine. Or maybe that was just him. You felt your eyes slide shut and your lips part as his hand lingered on your waist. You couldnât hear anything but your heartbeat and the tick of his grandfather clock.
âIs that okay? Not too tight?â His breath on your neck gave you goosebumps, you hoped desperately that he wouldnât notice.
âNo, itâs perfect. Thank you.â
The second his hand fell from your waist, you missed it. You carefully met his eye; he was looking at you like you had something he wanted.
So why hadnât he wanted you? Youâd been right there, and heâd turned you down.
He cleared his throat.
âI should finish this letter before we leave. Was there anything else?â
You paused.
âActually, there is. Could I ask you a favor?â You glanced off to the side, suddenly very interested in the knots of wood on his desk. What helped was that you'd never seen inside this room before, and you hid behind your curiosity like it was a lifeline.
âWhat is it?â
âItâsâŠâ you lowered your voice, âitâs about Lucille. Her brother, actually. Heâs in the hospital again. The family canât afford the medical bills to keep him in for as long as he needs. Iâd like to foot the bill, but I canât do it anonymously. I thought⊠well, I was wondering if you could pull a few strings.â
You were overexplaining, something you werenât at all used to doing, but these days, just being in the same room as him made you nervous. You stared at his desk, at the lack of photographs on it, the single pen laying to the side, the smoothness of the glaze.
It was quiet for a moment.
âConsider it done.â
You looked up.
âReally?â
âDid you think Iâd say no?â He asked.
âI- no, butâŠâ
âItâs something that matters to you.â
You blinked, dumbfounded at how simply he put it.
âYes. It is. Thank you, Coriolanus.â
âDonât mention it. Iâll make sure itâs anonymous.â
âThank you. Or, I meanâŠâ
He looked at you, and you wanted to melt. Wanted to throw strategy out the window, god, but -
You couldnât. It hadnât worked last time. Youâd hoped to avoid a stalemate, but here you were, sat right in the middle of one.
âThe carâs coming in a half hour. Are you almost ready?â He asked.
âYes. Almost.â
The luncheon was going well, at first. You were at the head of a large table, sat beside Snow, straightening your salad fork as he stood up to make a speech. Youâd been glancing at him throughout the afternoon; it wasnât so hard to anymore. It felt like his willingness to help Lucille without question, just because it was what you wanted, had more of an effect on you in five minutes than the entire week of your teasing had on him. One conversation, and the tides had changed.
As he began talking, you started to realise that your gentler approach may have been affecting you more than it had him. The party was transfixed; people loved to hear him talk, and you were proud. He had a certain way with words; you knew better than anyone. Youâd fallen victim to them.
You werenât sure why his words affected you â youâd been there, youâd agreed when Cordelia had suggested he say something nice about you in this particular speech, really make the crowd swoon, lay it on thick - but when he started to talk about you, about how proud he was to have you by his side, how strong you were-
You knew he was just reciting a script written for him, but you couldnât help it. The tears began to quietly fall. You thanked whatever higher being was listening for not letting anyone notice.
Or so you thought.
It was just typical that out of all the people that couldâve noticed, the one person who knew better was the only one who did.
The rest of them wouldâve brushed it off as you simply being moved by emotion, honored by his kind words. You blinked away your tears, taking small, polite sips of your wine. It was painful because you knew it wasnât true. None of it was, you knew he could never say those words and mean them.
And he knew that too.
It was dark when you got home, and you trailed behind him awkwardly on your way upstairs.
âCan I have a word?â his voice was gentle, and it set you on edge.
âSure.â
You stood awkwardly in the hallway, then he led you into the office. He leaned against his desk, and you shifted your feet where you stood, eyes on the floor, on the art on the walls, on anything other than him.
âYou were upset today.â He started.
You swallowed.
âIt wonât happen again, I promise.â you kept your voice steady. He paused.
âIf that was my fault, I apologise. If I took it too far, if I upset you-â
You werenât sure which part he was talking about, but you finally looked at him in a sort of distant defiance.
âDo you even care if Iâm upset?â
âOf course I do. Especially when itâs something that affects you⊠publicly.â
You huffed, forcing yourself to stare him down.
âBecause thatâs all that matters, right? What the public sees?â
âThatâs not what I meant.â
âSure it is. Itâs okay, Snow. Iâm a big girl. And I can take a hint, too. So donât worry about me, Iâll be just fine. Business as usual, right?â
He just stared, puzzled. You took a breath.
âLook, itâs been a long day. Can I go, or are you going to keep me here all night?â
The silence was like smoke, clouding between you. His brow furrowed, calculating. Then he sighed, long and heavy, and you tried not to let it phase you.
âFine. Go.â
You nodded.
âGoodnight.â
Youâd never been more relieved to get away from him. Your broken walls were starting to build back up. You wouldnât let him break you, you couldnât. You were stronger than this.
That night, for the first time, you couldnât help but wonder if this was truly what you wanted.
âDarling, you look ravishing.â Lilian drawled. âItâs a pity Snow is so far across the room, and canât appreciate you. If I dressed half as nicely as you did, perhaps my dear husband wouldnât be screwing the maid.â
A scandalised chorus of giggles erupted from the group. It was a pretty dress, one of your best. Long and smooth black fabric, ruched at the waist, with a deep cut up the leg that was just acceptable for an evening gala. You stood tall, champagne glass in hand, gossiping with your friends.
Well.
Friends was being generous. You kept few true friends, and they would hardly be gossiping in a circle like this.
Acquaintances was a better fit. Pawns if you were being brutally honest. Politiciansâ wives, senatorsâ mistresses, a chancellorâs daughter or two. Pieces of chess, really, in this bigger game. Anyone who could help you climb higher, whisper carefully spun words into open ears at your whim.
âI just know George would rip that dress off me the moment I got home. He might not even be able to wait, and just pull me into a closet here instead.â
Another eruption of giggles.
âWell, Iâm flattered, my darlings.â You smiled. âThis is one of my favorites. Coriolanus treats me well.â
âIâm sure he does,â a suggestive glance from Lilian, âin all the ways one would expect, I assume?â
You gasped in mock modesty.
âLilian,â you drawled, âI certainly hope youâre not suggesting I disclose our-â
âOh, just tell us dear, please. Weâre all dying to know. Youâre always so coy about it. Whatâs he like?â
You pulled your lips into a knowing smile, your perfectly painted face helping you slide into this facade. You scanned your eyes across the ballroom, across to Snow. He stood talking to a group of men, colleagues of his. You recognised their faces.
It had been four days since the luncheon. Four days since your outburst. Four days of hiding away. Youâd been dreading tonightâs gala, but it gave you an excuse to dress nicely, and as soon as youâd arrived, you and Coriolanus has gone your separate ways.
âWell,â you hummed, masking your uncertainty as anticipation, âhe can be a slight tease.â
A few dramatic gasps sounded through the group, and you turned back to face them, their eyes wide and expectant.
âSalacious. Do tell.â Another voice piped up with a giggle.
âHe can be fun to toy with. I do enjoy pushing back, but sometimes he takes it⊠a little far.â You said carefully.
âMy, who would have known? But you get what you want, my dear, surely.â Lilian asked.
You smiled, glancing back at him, suit pristine with a white rose in his breast pocket. You hated how good he looked. He was smiling politely at the group of men around him, but you could tell from the tick in his jaw that something was bothering him.
âSometimes, I do. Others, I wait for my chance to push his buttons right back.â
âOh, but whereâs the fun in that? I donât suppose,â she pressed, âthat youâre in one of those⊠entanglements at the moment?â
âLilian, darling, you know I donât kiss and tell.â
âIâll take that as a yes.â Another giggle sounded from the group.
âOh, my.â Lilian repeated, glancing between the two of you. âI do hope youâve been making him suffer.â
âWell, Iâm playing a longer game this time, so Iâm afraid there hasnât been as much fun lately.â
Lilian sucked in a breath, like the perfect idea had just dawned on her.
âWell, I see no moment like the present. Youâre here, youâre dressed marvellously, I propose you walk right over there and show him just what heâs missing.â
A chorus of yes and do it and weâll cheer you ons rang out. Loosened by the champagne, you looked across the room at him again. You could do it. He wouldnât be able to react, it would be the most perfect torture. You suddenly decided that you were done making small moves, done playing it safe like this was some schoolgirl crush. It was time to step up to the mark again. Take your power back.
Your group could sense the newfound determination in you. You smiled, slow and cunning.
Show him what heâs missing.
Simple. Itâs what you did best.
âWatch and learn, ladies.â
A hush fell over the group as they watched you run a hand through your hair, handed your glass to one of them, and pressed your lips together. Before youâd left the house youâd added a swipe of red lipstick, dark red, almost bloodlike. It always made you feel more confident and tonight, you needed the pick me up. Â
The middle of the ballroom was practically empty; the dancing was over, and everyone had long since gathered in groups to the sides. So you turned heads when you stepped out, the only one on the floor, black satin hugging your frame like a second skin. You didnât look at them, you made a steady beeline to Snow. You felt more and more eyes on you as you crossed the room, heels clicking on the floor. They all watched, waiting for⊠something. Coriolanus didnât look up until you were a mere few steps away, now deep in some conversation he was going to forget very shortly.
Blue eyes flashed to yours with a confused apprehension, but you didnât give yourself time to think about the twitch of his brow, or the looks on the faces of his colleagues. You didnât think about the way he opened his mouth as if to say something, only for it to be swallowed away.
You didnât think about any of that.
Because your lips were on his.
Hot and hungry, teeth clashing, your hand grabbing the back of his neck as he leaned in, surprised at first, then warm, wanting. Lips tugging at yours like he was starving.
It was sinful.
Youâd never been kissed like this before. Your fuzzy brain wondered how youâd gone through life not knowing what this felt like, the press of his lips devouring yours, heated and messy.
He kissed you like breathing, like you were his oxygen supply. His hand slid to your waist and pulled you in, and you heard the echoes of chuckling coming from around you, morphing into a few light claps.
Then, just as you felt him fully melt into you, your hand slipped higher to the nape of his neck, grabbing a fistful of perfect platinum curls, and tugged.
It was nothing but an affectionate display to the people surrounding you, but a brazen reminder between the two of you. It was your way of showing you hadnât forgotten, that you wouldnât be made to feel ashamed, to cower in a corner while he got the better of you.
Not in this lifetime.
The second it happened, his breath hitched, and his hand tensed on your waist. You were the only one who caught it, getting high off the satisfaction, finally pulling away.
You werenât sure youâd ever seen a prettier sight; his blown-out eyes, his face stained with scarlet. Â
Howâs that for tasting your own medicine.
Watching him attempt to collect himself was sweeter still. Watching him reset his face into one of distant amusement. He let out a small laugh, glanced at the rest of the party.
âEverything alright, doll? Had a little much champagne, perhaps?â
His colleagues chuckled, but you didnât look their way. You stood your ground. Offered a sweet smile, but he could see your slyness.
âOh, Iâm swell. And I think Iâve had just enough, actually. Iâm gonna go freshen up.â
You turned on your heel and made your way through winding halls to the bathroom, riding an adrenaline high. You picked up a glass from a serverâs tray along the way â the champagne had dried out, all they were serving now was posca, which while disgusting, worked a treat to take the edge off. It wasnât long before the door swung open and you saw Coriolanus appear behind you in the mirror.
âThis is the ladiesâ room, handsome.â You looked away, continuing to reapply your lipstick.
He stepped closer.
âWhat was that kiss about, sweetheart?â Straight to the point.
âNothing.â You shrugged.
âDidnât feel like nothing.â
âThatâs called acting, Snow.â Â You rolled your eyes, vaguely aware that your words sounded a little jumbled. You put the tube of lipstick away. âWe had an audience. A rather expectant one at that.â
He folded his arms.
âI donât like it when you catch me off guard like that. Not with people around.â
âSeemed to like it plenty to me.â You mumbled.
He didnât answer, pacing past you to the other sink, grabbing a towel and wiping it against his face, where the red had stained his skin. It only served to spread it around further, and if you werenât already smugly entertained by the marks youâd left on him, now it was just plain funny.
He glared at you when you laughed.
âDonât give me that look. Here,â you offered, stepping across to him, taking the towel and wetting it, âlet me.â
You wiped at a patch, but he snatched the towel back and took over.
âNo, youâre rubbing it too hard. Itâs-â he glowered at you â âfine. Do it your way.â
You went back to lean against your sink and took another sip of posca, admiring the ornate decorations in the room. A little excessive, a little new money for your tastes.
There was a rap on the door.
âPresident Snow?â
âJust a minute.â He said coolly.
âYouâre in a mood tonight.â You remarked, and he huffed.
âRunning a country can get exhausting. Donât expect you to understand.â
âRight.â You said flatly. âBecause Iâm just a brainless pawn like everybody else.â
He looked over at you, at the drink in your hand.
âHow many of those have you had?â
You shrugged again, and he tossed the towel into the sink, walking over to you.
âAnswer me.â His voice was stern, and for a second, you soaked it in, drenched in the danger as he approached, closing in. Your tongue slipped out to wet your lips, and your eyes followed his as he moved to stand in front of you.
âShame you donât have someone to let all that frustration out on, isnât it? Sounds like that could be helpful.â
His eyes pierced yours.
âDoll-â
âIâm just saying, itâs a pity you donât.â You moved to bring the glass to your lips, anticipating the burn in your throat, but he gently stopped your hand.
âOkay, thatâs enough.â
âPosca? Itâs my first glass.â You smiled, eyes batting.
âYou know what I mean. I think you should stop.â
You looked at the glass, then back at him, and pried your hand away, slowly and pointedly taking another sip.
âSweetheart.â He warned.
âWhat, are you punish me? Gonna make me beg for you then kick me out again? Already did that once.â
He gave an incredulous half-laugh.
âThatâs what this is about? Youâre not really going to be mad about that forever, are you?â
âThat depends. How long is forever?â
The door knocked again, and he worked the glass out of your hand.
âDrink some water. Sober up. Weâll talk about this when we get home.â
You sighed, heading for the door, but glanced back at him, his face still a stained mess. You brushed a finger against your own cheek to mirror his.
âYou missed a spot.â
You sat in silence in his office, feeling a little like a schoolchild caught misbehaving. His typing was the only sound in the room. The seat was low; almost as if it was there to point out his authority over anyone who sat in it. Knowing him, it probably was.
Heâd managed to clean off the rest of your lipstick, but his face looked rubbed raw, uncomfortable. A tall glass of water sat on the desk in front of you.
âThought you said weâd talk.â
âNot until you finish that glass. Iâm not talking to you inebriated.â
âSeriously?â
He shot you a look from behind his typewriter.
âFine. Whatever.â You reached for it and took a few sips. He looked back down again. A few folders cluttered the desk, and in your boredom, your eyes scanned them. They looked complicated; legal.
âWhat are you writing there anyway? Or am I too dumb to understand?â
He offered another unimpressed glance. Â
âItâs a new bill Iâm trying to pass. Except apparently, Iâm the only one around here with their head screwed on enough to work on it.â
You waited as Snow pushed the typewriterâs lever, carriage sliding the page as he began writing the next line. You sipped your water.
He sighed. âOne day I wonât have to mingle with these idiots anymore. Theyâll just listen to me, and obey.â
You took that in.
âDo you feel that way about me?â
He studied you for a second, and stopped typing. Â
âNo. Not really.â
âBut you wish Iâd be more⊠compliant.â You stared at the floor.
âNot necessarily.â
âYou sure? Didnât seem to like it the other night.â
His eyes narrowed. Knowing this conversation was a game of chess like any other. But lately the stakes were higher than ever.
âNever said I didnât like it. Just that you were out of line.â
âAnd where is that fucking line?â You snapped. âIâm serious, Snow, because weâve never talked about it.â
âYou want to talk, all of a sudden? Okay, sweetheart. Fire away.â
You put the glass down on the table, heavier than intended.
âI just donât understand you, Coriolanus. I mean, first you donât want me, then you do want me, then you donât again. And now what? I donât know what Iâm supposed to think when you donât give me anything to go off.â
He watched you carefully, and you wanted to shake him, to scream, anything that would give you answers. You stood, unable to sit still, and started pacing.
âYou know whatâs worse? I donât even know if you want me here anymore. I donât know how to act around you because I never know what youâre thinking. At first I thought all this, the whole push and pull, was just some control thing. But-â you laughed, airy and insane, âyou know what I realised? Youâve had me fooled, Snow. All this time I thought we were equals, but now I think I finally realise.â
He frowned, waiting for you to continue.
âYou pay for my company, if you think about it. We trade services, donât we? You get something from me, I get something back. I live in your house, eat your food, wear nice clothes. At the end of the day, thatâs just it, isnât it?â
âWhat?â
You shrugged, tears filling your eyes as bitterness took over, so strong you could almost taste it. Â
âIâm no better than a whore myself.â
Youâd never heard a louder silence. If that hadnât just taken everything out of you, youâd have begged him to say something. Instead, you just stared, eyes blurry with tears, as he seconds seemed to stretch into minutes, and you gave up trying to read his mind, because his expression was indecipherable. Â
After what felt like hours, he took a long breath.
âSit down.â
You glanced at the floor, then took a step towards your chair. He stopped you.
âNot there. Here.â He nodded at the desk in front of him, and you swallowed thickly, stepping around the desk, getting awfully close to him, and pulling yourself onto the desk, legs pressed together. He stood, looking down at you.Â
âThatâs really what you think of yourself?â He asked, voice steady and controlled.
You kept your eyes averted.
âAm I wrong?â
He lifted a hand and brushed his fingertips against your jaw, tipping your head up to look at him. And when you looked at his eyes, you knew exactly what he was feeling. He wasnât hurt, or upset.
He was mad.
âTell me something. What do you think Iâd do if I heard someone talking about you that way?
âI donât-â
âIâd have them executed. And you expect me to stand by and let you talk about yourself like that?â
You felt a tear spill down your cheek.
âI donât know, Coriolanus, you tell me. Am I disposable to you?â
âOf course not."
âBut youâd replace me if I left.â
âWhat makes you think Iâd let you leave in the first place?â
A chill caressed your spine.
âThatâs right. Iâm keeping you here, doll. If I made you doubt that, I apologise. But youâre no whore. Though sometimes, IâŠâ He trailed off.
âWhat?â
His eyes were on your lips again, hungry. You wondered how someone could switch from distant to depraved and wanting this quickly.
âSometimes I wish you were. Because itâd make it a lot easier for me to take what I want. If you were, then Iâd have no hesitation in ripping your clothes off right here. Fucking you on my desk, or up against the wall, not caring if you cum. Not caring if you enjoy it. If you were a whore, Iâd have fucked you in every room in this house, twice over. I wouldnât let you sleep.â
His hand was on your thigh, the now-creased fabric of your dress crumpling as it slid up. You werenât sure when your eyes had fallen shut, your hot breath mixing with his as his thumb rubbed against your skin.
Your voice was pathetically quiet.
âThen why donât you?â
He sighed, tone shifting into something tense, something you could cut through with a knife.
âBecause youâre fucking impossible, you know that? I can barely think when youâre around. I donât know where the games begin or end. I donât⊠I donât understand this power you have over me. I thought you knew, you must know that youâre under my skin. I donât know if youâll ever stop playing with me. It drives me fucking insane.â
You opened your eyes, hand gripping his wrist and pulling it from your thigh. You slid off the desk and took a step away from him.
âYou think Iâm playing with you? The only time you pay an ounce of attention to me is when youâre trying to fuck with my head, Snow. I said my piece, you heard me and you still didnât care. So please, for both our sakes, stop torturing me. Just⊠come find me when you decide you want me again, okay? Letâs leave it at that.â
You made for the door, which you slammed with such an impressive force that it even took you aback.
You replayed his words in your head that night until you fell into a deep sleep, and when you woke, you felt like your dreams made more sense than he did.
âTigris!â you exclaimed, catapulting into the blondeâs arms. The people who stood scattered around you in the manorâs large ballroom spun their heads around at your display. A few even dodged to the side as the momentum that youâd built running down the stairs nearly knocked her over.
A few days of silent glances and fewer exchanged words had passed. And now, you were just happy to be hosting in the comfort of your own home, and to finally see Tigris again. You wondered if she noticed how you hugged her, if she wondered - like you did - if youâd ever let go.
âIâm so happy youâre here. Howâs your Grandmaâam?â
âSheâs quite well, sheâs sorry she couldnât make it. You look beautiful as ever. Itâs been too long!â
âI know! I donât think Iâve seen you since your birthday, which makes me the worst friend ever.â You groaned, scrunching up your face in shame.
âItâs okay! I know busy Coriolanus keeps you with all these functions. You must be going out of your mind by now. How are you holding up?â
The two of you walked to the edge of the room, where prying eyes had settled down after your greeting.
You looked at Snow, stood across the ballroom, dressed in a pristine suit with a champagne glass in hand, talking to yet another group of men who worked for him â ministers and such, a little higher ranking than the group from the other night â and spared you the occasional glance. As if he was keeping tabs on you. It wasnât long before Tigris caught on and politely inquired.
âI donât understand him, Tigris. I think he hates me.â You sighed.
âWhat? No, he could never. He has a soft spot for you, really, and I have it on good authority.â
âIâm not so sure anymore. I think Iâve pushed it a little far this time. I think⊠maybe we both did. Iâm in uncharted waters, here.â
âLook, I know I donât know all the ins and outs of how this thing between you works, but I donât think he could ever hate you for doing anything. Coryo â I mean, Coriolanus, he does care, contrary to popular belief. Itâs just that his way of showing it can get a littleâŠâ
âFucked?â You offered, and she laughed.
âYes, exactly. Now, Iâm not going to lie to you and say that heâs an angel on earth, heâs had to do things to get to where he is now. Things that even I donât know the extent of, and theyâve⊠changed him.â
You rarely got the chance to speak with Tigris alone these days, with Snow usually playing chaperone, or keeping one or the both of you busy, but it had always been easy to slide right back into conversation with her like youâd never been apart.
Youâd first met Tigris at a Plinth gala years ago, on the same day youâd met Snow. The two of you had talked and laughed and she had an easiness around her, she wasnât shallow and judgemental like a lot of the girls youâd grown up with, though you never knew why until many months later. Snow had placed a large wall between his life before the Plinth endorsement, and after. Few people knew the conditions heâd grown up in, but after countless hours with Tigris, youâd begun to assemble small pieces. Despite your closeness with her, you knew from her warnings that Snow had a sort of temper when it came to this topic, so you approached it with caution.
âChanged him how?â You inquired, finally.
âWell⊠It wasnât always fancy balls and lunches with him. It never was, with any of us, as you know, but especially for him. Heâs⊠had a different experience. Grandmaâam and I, weâve known hard times, but we havenât seen what heâs seen. Not even close.â
âWhat kind of things?â
She glanced over her shoulder, making sure nobody was hovering.
âHeâd kill me for telling you.â
âYou know I wonât say a word. But you donât have to tell me, if itâs too much to ask.â
She took in a breath, and sipped her drink, voice dropping to a whisper.
âThis stays between us, okay? Coriolanus has⊠been out there. In the districts, I mean. Before all this. And I canât go into detail, heâd have my head if IâŠâ
You swallowed.
âThe districts? But⊠why? I donât-â
âTigris, lovely to see you, itâs been so long.â A male voice interrupted, and you quickly excused yourself, slipping away to let the two of them talk.
After mulling it over in your head and making small talk with a few more guests, you snuck out of a side door and into the hallways, winding upstairs until you were finally met with Snowâs bedroom door. The sound of voices and music a mere echo below you, you pushed tentatively, and stepped inside. It was strange, being in there alone, for the first time since heâd turned you away. But you paced the floor, looking for something, anything, that would answer the questions you had. Why the districts? Why couldnât Tigris tell you what had happened there?
Glancing back at the door, you began thumbing through his closet, peeking inside drawers. Youâd already given his room a once over, but you worked more meticulously this time, every corner you unsuccessfully turned over only fuelling your curiosity. You walked around the room again, getting frustrated.
You headed back to the door, scanning the place, and retraced your steps a third time. Knocking a little on cupboards and anything that appeared the slightest bit odd or out of place. It was a perpetually tidy room, neat as ever, save for the desk which contained folders you were sure werenât for your eyes, but that didnât stop you. You kept on, trying your best not to leave any stone unturned, and most importantly, trying not to move anything out of place.
Eventually, you moved to the smaller desk drawers again, rifling through them haphazardly, annoyed by the lack of evidence you were finding. One of the two drawers had very little inside it, just a pencil and a pocket dictionary, and as you pushed your hand further inside to feel for anything else, you noticed it felt smaller than the first. Shallower. When you knocked, it was hollow.
It had a false bottom.
Your father used to keep his cigars beneath one of these when you were growing up, so you knew what to look for. You felt around the edge until you touched a small, metal handle, then emptied the drawer, hooked your fingers into the handle and pulled. You frowned at first, there was less in the hidden compartment than there was above it. But you peered inside, and there lay two items: an old photograph, and a silver dog tag.
Suddenly, it all made sense. His efficiency, his drive, his orderliness.
Military. The districts. The dog tag.
You unfolded the photograph, caked in a layer of dust, and it hit you like a ton of rocks. Â
Coriolanus was a peacekeeper.
But why? When? And why keep it a secret?
In the photograph, his hair was buzzed, and he was in a uniform you recognised immediately; if only because of the annual reaping ceremony shown in every building in the Capitol. He was standing next to a boy with dark hair, also buzzed. You recognised him as Sejanus Plinth, youâd never met the kid but youâd been to his funeral with your family, and had seen enough pictures to know.
You knew that the Plinth family had backed Coriolanusâ education, that he became their new heir, a protĂ©gĂ© of sorts, but not that heâd been friends with their son. Not that theyâd been this close, at least. They werenât smiling in the photo, stood pin straight and alert in what looked like barracks. Â
You folded the photograph and placed it back where you found it. Your hands lingered on the dog tag, though, despite the logical side of your brain screaming at you to put it back, leave the room and pretend you didnât see this. But the louder part egged you on as you pulled it out of the drawer, examining the engraved words, running your hands over the name SNOW and, further down, DISTRICT 12.
Youâd heard bedtime stories from your mother while growing up, about the war, the Hunger Games and why they existed, and why it was never safe to set foot in the districts, not even the richer ones.
Theyâre beneath us, sheâd said. Theyâre dangerous. Barbaric. And 12 was notoriously the poorest, most dangerous of them all.
Coriolanus had now become more of an enigma to you than ever before, and a thousand new questions flooded your head.
You closed the drawer halfway, holding the chain, pulling out a chair in front of the mirror to sit down. You turned the tag over in your hands, as if it would start giving you the answers, if only you looked hard enough.
Why was he sent to 12? Why couldnât he talk about it?
Despite the conditions Snow grew up in, there was respect behind his family name. It didnât make sense why someone of his social standing and education would leave to be a peacekeeper, of all things, and in 12, of all places. A strange sort of pity filled you, wondering what he couldâve seen out there. What he couldâve done. It all drew you in as you got lost in a world of what ifs.
Despite yourself, you pushed your hair from your neck, and as if in a trance, wrapped the chain around it. It fell heavy and cold against your skin, sending a chill through your bones. You were so busy staring down at it, so lost in thought that you barely noticed the sound of the door pushing open. Or the floorboards lightly creaking. Or his reflection in the mirror. You didnât notice any of that, until the door swung shut with a bang.
âWhat the fuck do you think youâre doing?â
Coriolanus had had a long day, most of which heâd spent simmering over work and you. Heâd kept his eye on you that evening; on the way youâd thrown yourself into Tigrisâ arms, and talked, transfixed, and he hated not knowing what was being said. A strange feeling set in as he saw the two of you get deeper into conversation from the other side of the large room, a deep-seated uneasiness stirring him up as he drowned out the tales of his associatesâ incompetence. It felt like a breath of relief when he sent someone your way to interrupt whatever talk you were having, pretending that Tigris had been looking for him earlier. He focused on your brief tour of the room when the distraction worked, eyes flitting around like you were preoccupied.
When he saw you dart away from the ballroom and up one of the stairwells, he followed you as soon as he got the chance.
Heâd wondered if you might act up today, but this wasnât what he was expecting. When he saw you, the all too familiar glint of silver around your pretty neck, something shifted in him. Something heâd done a very, very good job of keeping at bay during his first few years of presidency.
Rage.
Your eyes met his in the mirror.
âCoriolanus, I-â
His hands were on you before you could finish your sentence, hauling you out of the chair, fingers wrapped in a death grip around your arms, squeezing as he pushed you to the wall with a satisfying thud.
âWhat, you can explain? I highly doubt that.â
âIâm sorry, I just-â You gasped as he squeezed tighter, gripping your wrists.
âDo you even know what this means?â He seethed, dog tag pressed between his fingers, chain pulling at your neck.
The forest. The birds. The gunshots that deafened him for weeks.
âI didnât know⊠Iâm sorry. I never knew you were a peacekeeper, Coryo, I-â He flinched, saw the way you winced the second it passed your lips.
Snow may have been cold, but his eyes were fire. And you were only stoking it.
âSo Iâm Coryo now? Who the fuck told you call me that? Was it Tigris? I saw you talking to her, donât lie to me.â
âNo.â You shook your head. âShe didnât tell me anything, I promise. Please. It was just me.â
He moved in closer, eclipsing you altogether, grip on the chain so tight he was certain youâd be able to feel it pinching the back of your neck, digging a mark into your flesh. He let the sadistic part of his brain take delight in it, in the way your eyes widened, face pleading.
Whatever this game was between you, youâd gone too far this time.
âHow did you find this?â He snapped.
You were crowded against the wall, unable to move. Tears started to brim, and you didnât answer, he wasnât sure you could. You just shook your head over and over, repeating Iâm sorry like a broken record.
âTake this off. Now. Take it off.â He ordered, dropping it back to your chest, stepping away a little so you could lift your shaking arms over your head, removing the chain. He snatched it from you, gripping it in his palm, looking down at it, and you breathed out in relief.
âI didnât mean to⊠I was just looking. I had so many questions. I didnât know what Iâd find.â
âAnd? Are you fucking satisfied now?â His voice chilled you to the bone as he looked up at you again.
You shook your head. Apologised again. Wished you could apologise in any way that would matter, but it was too late. Youâd never been more afraid in your life, anticipating what might happen, remembering echoes of rumors youâd heard, of Snow poisoning his enemies, of sending them to hang. Some you knew to be true, but others you boiled down to rebel gossip.
Now, you werenât so sure. These were the eyes of a man whoâd dropped his mask, and it was like staring into a dark void. You could get lost in it, and never find your way back.
âPlease. Donât⊠I wonât tell anyone, I promise. You can trust me.â
He scoffed.
Stupid girl. Hadnât you learned by now, that trust meant nothing?
âLike I trusted you in here? I donât think so. Canât believe you had me feeling sorry for you. Probably just made it up so you could lower my guard then turn around and stick your nose where it doesnât belong.â
âI didnât, Coriolanus, I swear.â You pleaded. You were crying, tears slipping down your cheeks.
âIâve been very patient with you, little girl. But this is where I draw the line. You have no idea how far youâve pushed me. And you donât even realise it, youâre so caught up in your little crush. Do you know how easy Iâve been going on you? The things Iâve let you get away with⊠Iâve killed people for much less.â
âYouâveâŠâ You trailed off, barely hearing your own words, barely processing a thing. He laughed, low and dark.
âDoes that scare you, sweetheart? Does it make you afraid?â
Eyes frozen open, you just stared. You felt your jaw go slack.
âGood.â Â
Coriolanus toed an invisible line, one that had never been crossed before. You wanted him to show you he wanted you? Fine.
He looked down at the chain wrapped around his fist, but he didnât pocket it, or place it to the side. He unwound it, and slowly pulled it over his own neck.
Your eyes dropped to where it sat in stark contrast, heavy and shining, garish against his fancy dress shirt. You felt your blood run cold.
âGet on your knees.â You heard him say. Your eyes darted back up.
âWhat?â
When he spoke, it sounded like someone else was talking. Someone you didnât know at all.
âYou heard me. Get on your fucking knees. Right now.â
What could you do? This was what youâd wanted. Just⊠not like this. Not when your hands were shaking in fear, and you had no idea what this Coriolanus was capable of.
Your head said yes; your heart wept. But you were far past listening to your sorry heart.
So, you obeyed. Legs all but giving in as you lowered yourself to the ground, knees meeting cold hardwood as the chill cut through your dress.
His fingers slipped under one of the straps.
âTake this off, baby.â He murmured, distant, like he wasnât all there. Your head hung in shame, eyes on his feet as you pushed the straps from your shoulder, top half of the dress falling down. You heard his zipper slide down, and you shivered. No longer sure if it was in fear or anticipation.
âHead up. Look at me. Good,â he said, when you obliged, ânow letâs see what this pretty mouthâs really good for, shall we?â
More tears welled up as his hand brushed your jaw, hooking a thumb to your bottom lip, pushing your mouth open. You couldnât help the way your tongue grazed over it, tasting salt, whining when you realised it was the taste of your own tears. When your eyes fell open again, you finally caught a look at him, hard and tip weeping, and your brain filled with nothing but want, eclipsing your fear for a mere second, enough to bring Coriolanus to the ground again. He may have done terrible, unspeakable things, but he was still a man. A man who wanted you.
And why did that make your heart beat out of your chest? It thrummed like a hummingbird as you took in the sight of him, unbuttoning his shirt as he waited for you to move.
Youâd seen how big he was from a distance. Youâd felt him between layers of fabric, and youâd imagined this a million times over. But now, as he stood waiting in front of you, you hesitated, because it all finally felt real. Your mouth watered despite yourself, seeing the mess heâd already made, any more and heâd start dripping -
âGo on, sweetheart. Itâs not gonna suck itself.â
Your eyes squeezed shut as you let him past your lips. The heady taste of precum filled your mouth as you ran your tongue along the shaft slowly, trying to start steady. He wasnât having it. His hand twisted through your hair, pulling you in closer, making you gag a little. You instinctively lifted a hand up to his thigh to brace yourself, and he laughed.
âGiving up so soon? Thought youâd try harder than that.â
He pushed further, and the indignant sound you made as you adjusted only served to spur him on.
You tried to focus on breathing through it, but he slipped in and out your mouth unevenly, and faster than you could think, catching you off guard. He looked down at the way your mouth struggled to take his length as if you were a piece of art, like he was mesmerised by it, and that feeling was encouragement was enough to keep you going. His hand twisted harder in your hair, making a fist, and he swore when you hummed in discomfort.
âLook at you.â He said, strung-out and shaky. âYou strut right in here from your silver spoon life, and think you can call the shots? Youâve bitten off more than you can chew, sweetheart. You have no fucking idea what the world is really like. What people are like. What they have to do to survive.â
He moved faster, and you let your jaw go slack. You were barely moving now, he was starting to fuck your throat like he owned it. Youâd started to cry again, and when you looked up at him, it was a blur. The furthest you could see was his chest, shirt unbuttoned and falling to the sides, and the dog tag, silver catching in the low light, swinging against his chest as he moved. You closed your eyes again, trying to go somewhere else in your head. Trying to breathe through your nose, to focus on being used, on how good you were making him feel, on finally being his. It was all you had left to hold on to.
But he was unwinding you with his words, knowing just where to press to make it sting, to make the tears fall harder.
âYou donât have any fucking shame about it either. Touching yourself on my bed and wearing my clothes, like youâre â fuck, thatâs it - like weâre married or something. Like youâre worth more than everyone else. But look at you. Maybe you were right after all. Maybe you are my whore.â he gritted out.
Tears streamed down your cheeks as you tried desperately to catch your breath between sobs. Â
âI mean, you sure look like it now, on your knees for me, making a mess of your pretty face. So fucking good. Youâre sucking me off better than she did, and youâre barely even trying.â
You hated it. Hated the way his thumb brushed painfully gently against your cheek, dusting away a tear as his cock bruised the back of your throat and you tried not to gag around him. Hated the way his words twisted around in your head, and how fucked up it was that your broken brain took it as praise instead of punishment.
Most of all, you hated the throb between your shaking legs, panties soaked through and probably ruined. Humiliation seeped through you as you imagined it dripping down your legs and onto the floor. Your salty tears spilled down your face, mixing with your spit and his precum. Hating every second, until your head went blank, and you didnât feel much of anything anymore.
You werenât sure exactly how it happened.
One second, he was pulling your hair, twitching in your mouth and spilling down your throat, and the next, in what felt like a flash, you were on the floor, loud, wrecked sobs spilling out of you as you held your knees to your chest, face hidden. He was on the floor too - when did he get down? - and his voice was soft, oh so soft and gentle, saying something you couldnât quite make out, dull and repetitive past your ringing ears.
â- so sorry. Iâm so sorry, baby. I know I - I didnât⊠I took it too far. Can you hear me, sweetheart? Look at me. Please, look at me. Iâm right here.â
You pulled your head from your hands, and through blurred eyes, you looked at him.
This wasnât a face youâd seen on him before. His brows knitted, lips apart as he stared at you, like you were some wounded animal he wanted to save.
âTalk to me, sweetheart. Please.â
âI canâtâŠâ You trailed off.
âYou can tell me.â
Another wave of choked back sobs took over you. He held your jaw up like you were something breakable. Like maybe youâd broken already, and he was holding you together.
âI canât do this.â You whispered. âNot like-â
He nodded, brushing a tear from your cheek.
âOkay. Itâs okay, baby. Tell me what I can do for you. Just say the word.â
You caught your breath, and he flinched a little as you collapsed into his arms. The cool metal of the dog tag pressed into your cheek.
âI donât know. Iâm sorry.â You cried.
âIâm the one whoâs sorry. I didnât realise how far Iâd pushed you until⊠I know I canât make it up to you, but Iâll try. Whatever you need me to do, Iâll do it. If you want to leave, I understand. Iâll make the arrangements.â
âWhat? No, thatâs notâŠâ
He cut you off, looking into your eyes.
âDecide tomorrow, okay doll? You donât have to think about that now.â
âI didnât know about⊠about the districts.â You hiccupped. âAbout you. You didnât want me to know. I ruined everything, I-â
âListen to me. It doesnât matter anymore, I promise you. Itâs okay, baby.â
You nodded into his chest.
âHere.â He leaned away from you, and you looked up in a question. He took the chain from his neck and placed it in your palm.
âYou can have it. So long as nobody sees. You can throw it away, wear it around the house, whatever you want. Itâs yours.â
You pressed it between your fingers. It cooled your hot skin like a salve.
âThank you.â You whispered. Your head sank back onto his chest, and when you spoke again, it was barely audible.
âCoryo?â
He tensed for a second, but relaxed again just as quickly.
âYeah?â
âCan I stay with you tonight?â
His hand brushed gently against your hair, and you relaxed into it.
âOf course you can.â

WIRED AUTOCOMPLETE. | TOM BLYTH
PAIRING. tom blyth x fem!actress!reader
SUMMARY. in which you and tom make a special appearance on wiredâs autocomplete interview
installment of this au | recommend reading for more context
âHi â weâre Y/N Avocot and Tom Blyth â and this is the Wired Autocomplete Interview!â
Youâre both handed a white board, bigger than your face, and thereâs a list of questions with some of the words covered.
âDo you want to go first?â Tom asks, giving you a small smile.
âYes! Iâm pretty excited actually,â you begin to peel off the first question. âOkay, first question: what was Y/N Avocotâs first role?â
You think for a moment, âwell in terms of roles in general, my first acting role was very small and I believe it was for this ice cream commercial as a kid. Iâm not sure if itâs still up but my mom had signed me up for it and they thought I was a really cute kid so they casted me.â
Tom laughs, âreally?â He then retrieves his board from the crew. âOkay my turn. Why does Coriolanus Snow turn evil?â
That question makes you slightly giggle, because itâs so broad that itâs nearly impossible for Tom to narrow down exactly what it is that made Coriolanus suddenly switch. âI believe you should be asking Suzanne Collins, shout-out to her for making the entire trilogy and prequel. But honestly? I think he was always power hungry, and even though Tigris tried her very best to bring out the humanity in him, it was just never enough. Especially after Sejanusâs death, I think Coriolanus realized there was no going back.â
âOh wow,â you say, very impressed with how he decided to answer it. âThat was a terrific answer Tom.â
âThank you mâlady.â You giggle at his antics, rolling your eyes jokingly.
âWhat role does Y/N Avocot play in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes?â You clear your throat, imitating one of your characterâs iconic resting bitch face.
âI play Balleona Laurent, duh.â You joke. âAnyway, yes, I play Balleona, also known as Leona. Sheâs originally from the Capitol just like Coriolanus. They met at the academy and she automatically knew she had to have him. She comes from the Laurent family, which is a very very wealthy, well off, intimidating family that Coriolanus knows he just has to get into, which is why they start dating. I donât wanna spoil too much of Leona and Corio in the movie, soooo you guys should definitely check it out!â
âAlright,â Tom adjusts himself in his seat, ripping off the paper for the next question. âDoes Tom Blyth have a girlfriend?â
He pretends to think, which makes you bite your lip, suppressing a laugh. âHmm, very complex question.â
âOh give the people what they want!â You tease, âyes he does. Heâs inlove with Jennifer Lawrence.â
âI am not inlove with Jennifer Lawrence!â He exclaims quickly, âalthough I greatly admire her work. My girlfriend is Y/N Avocot over here, sadly.â
âSadly?!â You fake offense, âcut the cameras. Iâm gonna beat Tom up.â
You peel away at your next question, the interview already being loads of fun for the both of you. âIs Y/N Avocot a good singer?â
Your head falls forward, and Tomâs automatic instinct is to catch you, not realizing youâre only joking. âOh God, I hope so!â You say, laughing as you pick your head up. âIâm no Mariah Carey but I like to think Iâm a pretty okay singer.â
âMore than okay,â Tom chimes in, which makes you laugh.
âAw, thanks Tom.â
Tom reaches to peel another question off. âIs Tom Blyth American?â This question makes you almost spit out the water you were currently taking a sip out of. âWell, a lot of people get shocked when I say Iâm from the UK. I mean, is my American accent that good?â
âGuess so,â you shrug. âOkay next. Is Y/N Avocot in The Summer I Turned Pretty?â
You clasp your hands together excitedly, giving the camera a wide smile. âYes! I play Maekella Fisher, also known as Ella Fisher, Steven Conklinâs love interest and sister to Conrad and Jeremiah. The first season airs out soon so please stay tune for that! Iâm so excited to be apart of this amazing show with such amazing people.â
âI always come to watch her on set,â Tom says, âtheyâre all such funny and charismatic people. I swear Iâve became friends with everyone on Y/Nâs cast.â
âOkay, my last question,â Tom peels off the paper, grinning. âWill Tom Blyth star in another movie soon?â
He smirks, eyes playfully looking into the camera. âWho knows? But I do know that something exciting will be coming out soon so prepare yourselves!â
âWay to tease the crowd Blyth,â you say, rolling your eyes. âAnyway! My last question, this was quick. What is Y/N Avocotâs skincare routine? Oh, Iâve been waiting for this one.â
You sit on the edge of your seat, and Tom finds it endearing that youâre so excited about something as small as this.
âFirst, I rinse my face with cold water and I dip my face in a bowl of ice and water for 3 minutes. Afterwards, I put on my dewy toner from Innisfree, itâs so smooth and nice. Sometimes Iâm too lazy for this step but I also put on sunscreen, itâs important so I always remind myself to not forgetâ but I love to use Supergoop Unseenâs Sunscreen. I use drunk elephantâs bronze drops if I wanna go for a sunkissed look that day, but I usually donât. And then I just shake my Tower facial spray and spray it all over my face. Usually, I touch up my eyebrows and do my eyeliner but thatâs really about it!â
âItâs true,â Tom adds. âShe asked me if I could go buy her the tower spray yesterday because she was almost out.â
âNo need to expose me like that,â you say, clinging your arms onto his. âWell thank you guys for watching!â
âThank you!â Tom and you wave at the camera, smiling brightly.

estabished lando x reader on race day and tom blyth is on the paddock for silverstone and reader gets excited bc she loved him on tbosas and lando gets jealous?
Jealous Jealous
Side note: I've never written on tumbler before. Only Wattpad, so don't judge if this is bad.
Also, I added she is Max's sister because I like reading and writing siter brother bonds.
Thereâs probably spelling errors and grammar mistakes, but I wrote this in a night.
Lando 24, reader 22. (Dating 1 year but not discussed) Masterlist
When Lando met Y/n, he knew she was a fan of the Hunger Games movies. She loved them a lot. She had read all the books. Everything.
So when the new one came out Lando took her to see it even if he had never really seen one of the previous movies.
Let's just say y/n was hooked onto the main guy who played Coriolanus.
It was something Lando didn't really know about. But he thought nothing of it as it was highly unlikely that they would See this Tom Blyth fellow at a race.
Five months after the movie was released, Lando had completely forgotten about his girlfriend's crush.
It was race day at the Silverstone track. Lando and y/n walked into the paddock hand and hand, smiling at the fans that where there.
Y/n gasped and stoped suddenly. Lando frowned confused on why you girlfriend stoped.
"What's wrong?" He frowned and followed her eye sight to see a man in dark jeans and a dark shirt. Shaggy brown hair. "Who's that?" He asked slightly jealous at the way his girlfriend was looking at the man.
Y/n slapped him on the arm lightly, not looking away from Tom. "That's Tom Blyth. The guy who played Coriolanus Snow in the new hunger games movie." She explained to him. Gushing over him.
"Ahha." He made a face of recolonisation. When they watched the new movie y/n was obsessed with Coriolanus Snow and gushed about how Tom was a good actor to play him.
"I'm going to say hi." She spoke suddenly kissing his cheek and sleeping over to Tom who smiled at the girl.
Lando watch with his arms crosed. It's not that he didn't trust y/n it was that Tom guy. He watched as he placed his arm around her waist for a picture and he clenched his jaw.
He wouldn't say anything because it would only make her sad. He hated the way her face lit up as he asked her a question. Jealousy was sweeping in through his veins.
Max, who was walking down the paddock saw his sisters boyfriend frowning and followed his eye sight.
He laughed knowing Y/n liked Coriolanus Snow and extension to who played him.
"No need to be jealous." Max commented as he pattered Lando's shoulder shaking the boy from his thoughts.
"I'm not." Lando scoffed and went back to watching his girlfriend as she bid the Brit goodbye.
"Say that to your clenched jaw and your posture." Max chuckled just as y/n was standing in front of them.
"Max." She beamed and kissed him on the cheek. Y/n looked over at Lando with a happy face. "Tom said he was coming tot he McLaren garage. So I said he could stand with me." She gushed.
"How wonderful." Lando smiled at her in fake happiness.
Max chuckled watching them walk away knowing jealous Lando is a funny Lando. He had seen Lando get jealous when guys would come up to her in the clubs.
Lando clenched his jaw hard as he watch Tom make y/n laugh and throw he head back in laughter.
All day y/n had been showing Tom around. And when she was with Lando a bit, all she talked about was Tom and how he filmied Billy The Kid in the snowny mountains.
Charles had teased him about it but backed of seeing the anger in his eyes.
Lando was suited up and ready for the race and was talking to Will. He knew driving like this was a bad idea. Being frustrated beofer a race, never good.
He was normally a jealous guy but he also knew no one could match up to him. But this Tom guy could.
He was handsome. Older. The Verstappen's had a thing for older people. (đ€) Y/n only being 22.
Lando took a deep breath knowing y/n would never cheat on him. Or do anything like that to jeopardise there relationship.
Zak was about to ask Lando a question when Lando pushed his helmet into Will's hand abruptly and stored over to y/n.
"-and then he gave me all thease roses-" y/n was cut of from talking to Tom as Lando grabbed her hand and basically yanked her to his driver's room. "Hey!" She yelled.
Lando ignored her until he pushed her lightly into his driver's room.
"What was that for? I was talking to Tom." Y/n asked closing her arms watching Lando as he signed and then clenched his jaw.
"Do you like this Tom Blyth guy?" He blurted out.
Y/n frowned confused, not knowing what he was talking about. "What?"
Lando signed annoyed, "All day you have been hanging out with him. Laughing with him. Just Tom, Tom Tom." He ranted.
"That dosnt mean I like him." She told her Brit boyfriend.
Lando shook his head, "You barely spent the day with me."
"Your racing today Lan."
"So." He pondered crosing his arms.
Y/n laughed suddenly knowing what he was feeling. "Your jealous." She stated.
Lando shook his head. "I am not." He refused in a child's way.
"There's nothing to be jealous of. We were just talking. That's it." Y/n assured him.
"You looked pretty happy with him." He told her with a frown.
Y/n matched that frown and crosed her arms, now a little angry. "Jesus Lan, we were just talking. Yes I have a crush on him but that's only because we just watched hunger games." She sighed uncrosing her arms and looking away. "We actually have alot in common. As friends. He also has a girlfriend."
Lando looked away from her. Y/n sugged her shoulders with a sly smile, "Well he dose have nice hair though." She couldnât help but teased.
Lando's head snapped to her direction. "No way. You can't love his hair. You love my hair." He refused making his way over to her and wrapping his arms around her waist.
That was true. Y/n loved Landoâs hair. She had helped him keep his curls more healthy looking. Y/n loved to play with his as well as Lando loved it when she pulled his hair during sex.
Y/n sighed and pulled him into her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and started playing with the hair on the back of his neck.
"I'm jealous." He confused. When y/n tried to pull back he refused and held onto her longer. "I'm scared that you'll leave me for someone older. You said when we first got together your type was older men and you liked British people."
Lando dl tightened his hold on her a little, "I don't want to lose you."
Lando was insured about losing the only person he loved more in the world, other then his family.
Y/n sighed and closed her eyes, she finally pulled away from Lando and put her hands on his cheeks. "I do like older men. I do like British men. But I love you." She spoke softly. She smiled at him, making him smile back. "You are the man I will always come home to. You are the one I love. No one, not even a crush I have will stop that because that's it. A crush." She told Lando.
"I love you." Lando smiled kissing her on the lips. Y/n smiled through the kiss.
"I love you." She replied breathless when they parted.
Lando signed and rested his head on her forehead. "I'm sorry for accusing you of liking that guy."
"You mean Tom." Y/n giggled.
"Hmm." He hummed, not caring of his name.
"God Lando." She checked, kissing his cheek before stepping away from him. "Now go out there and race." She giggled as he led then out of his driver's room.
When they got back to the garage Will looked over at them and Lando shot him a thumbs up to indicate it was all good.
Lando turned to his girlfriend. "But do stay with Lilly or something." He pleaded.
Y/n giggled. "Sure." She kissed Lando again beofer he was called over to his engineer. She would do it to ease his nerves and insecurities.
As y/n steped next to Lilly, Tom looked over at her and shot her a smile. She shot a small one back, before talking to Lilly.
Yes she loves Tom Blyth as a crush but her true heart belongs to Lando. He had nothing to worry about, ever.
He would be the one she spend the rest of her life with. What she didnât known was a ring was resting in Landoâs bed side table. A ring that would sit on her left hand at the end of the year.

Based on this ask
Warnings: Dark!Stepbrother!Coriolanus Snow, Bigot General Crassus Snow, Implied child abuse, cussing, obsessive behavior, smut. AU of sorts.
When your mother started dating some war hero general, you didn't think much of it. Your mother's dated men, mostly officers, over the years and nothing ever came of it. So when your mother announced that Crassus proposed and she said yes, you nearly had a stroke.
Your older brother, Rein, had signed up for the peacekeepers the very next day. You think it was to get the hell out of the house, since Crassus Snow had a reputation of being a very cold, stern, and cruel man.
Not that you knew much about him. But you kind of knew his son. Well, you didn't know Coriolanus, but you went to the Academy with him.
Little did you know, Coriolanus has been secretly watching you ever since his balls dropped and his voice changed. He always thought that you were a beautiful little dove. His darling rose. He had a crush *cough* obsession *cough* with you, but would only watch you from afar.
His group of friends (rich asshole kids he had to play nice with) weren't the type of people that would accept you. You weren't from one of the great Capitol families.
But, despite not being able to be seen with you, he was determined that one day he'd have you pinned down on his bed.
How he planned on doing that if he never talks to you, well, who knowsâŠ
So, when Crassus Snow told his son that he was getting married to your mother, well, Coriolanus was over the moon. He was finally going to be able to fulfill his fantasies; pin you down on his mattress and fuck you into it until you begged for mercy.
The day after he found out you were going to be his new stepsister, he approached you at the Academy. You were talking with one of your friends, waiting for classes to start, in the main hallway. He felt that now was the perfect time to introduce you to the right friend circle to have; to claim you as his own too.
âWhy isn't it Y/N Halvir, my new stepsister.â
âYour mother's marrying his father? Oh, I feel so bad for youâŠâ Your friend whispered so only you'd be able to hear her.
Giving Coriolanus a fake smile, you simply greeted him with, âHi, Coriolanus. Shouldn't you be with your own friends?â
âIâm actually here to take you with me so that you can meet them, now that you're a Snow.â Coriolanus replied, his icy eyes taking in every inch of you.
âOur parents aren't married yet, I'm nothing to you, but your classmate at the moment.â You reminded him, since he's never shown interest in you before; doesn't need to either since your parentsâ are still planning the wedding.
Well Crassusâ mother, your soon to be new Grandmaâam, was planning it while her son was footing the bill. You hope she doesn't pick out some frilly, gaudy, girly puffball of a dress for you to wear.
Coriolanus gave you a smile that was all pearly whites and sickeningly sweet. âDear sweet stepsister, in time they'll be married, and I just want to introduce you to my friends.â
Your friend noticed the glint in Coriolanus' icy eyes and was afraid for you. She didn't know much about him, but he always intimidated her. Gave her the creeps for some reason she couldn't pinpoint. Your friend looked between you and your soon to be stepbrother, hoping that he'd just leave you alone.
Sadly, that didn't happen.
Coriolanus' large hand grabbed your arm, his long fingers wrapping tightly around it like tentacles. He leaned in close, so close that his breath was fanning your face, and gritted through his perfect teeth, âYou're going to be a Snow, Y/N, so you need to start acting like it. The first step is to let me give you friends that are worthy of the Snow name.â
Your heart raced and you felt fear bloom in your chest. You nodded at him, giving into his will.
Coriolanus smirked when you turned to your friend and told her you were going with Coriolanus.
You were his now. His, and heâs never letting go.
Integrating yourself into the Snow family was easier said than done. First, you were stuck moving into their 12th floor Corso penthouse right away. Right away being mere days after the engagement was announced.
Your mother was so happy to be living in the grand penthouse, but you missed your old apartment.
At least your old, albeit smaller, apartment was warm and felt lived in. The Snow penthouse was cold and felt dead despite its large size and grand decor.
âCoriolanus, show your new sister to her room.â Crassus sternly ordered his son while standing in front of the fireplace in the main room, sipping tea.
Your mother and Grandmaâam, Coriolanusâ grandmother, were sitting in chairs around a glass star shaped coffee table, sipping on tea and hot chocolate. Grandma'am was the one with the hot chocolate.
Grandmaâam and your mother seemed to get along well, while Crassus didn't seem to care.
Hell, the general had a scowl on his face and looked a bit miserable.
You wondered if Coriolanus would grow up to be like his father since he already looked like him.
âYes, father.â Coriolanus nodded. Grabbing your hand and leading you away from the adults, he said, âYou'll be in Tigris' old room, little dove.â
âWho's Tigris?â You innocently asked.
âMy cousin; she moved out into her own apartment not long ago.â He explained, dragging you down the hall.
You knew what Coriolanus truly meant. His cousin left after his father announced the engagement with your mother.
âMy older brother just joined the peacekeepers, so it looks like we both had some family move out.â
Coriolanus stopped at a door, only to push it open and drag you inside of the room. âMark my word, sweet stepsister, father will be pushing for your brother to take an officer's aptitude test as soon as he's eligible.â
âI don't see why, Rein's not his son.â You told the blonde as he let go of your hand and flipped on the light switch.
The room was spacious. The only furniture in it was a bed, a nightstand, and a desk with a chair. The bed linens were simple too.
The room felt more like a guestroom then a room that had once belonged to somebody in the Snow family.
Maybe it was the lack of personal decorations that made the room feel so lifeless?
But wasn't that to be expected considering Tigris has vacated the room; took any decorations and personal touches with her.
Coriolanus guided you over to the bed. âNot by blood, but as soon as our parents marry, your brother will be another son of Crassus Snow.â You both sat down on the soft mattress. You felt as if his blue eyes were studying you, taking you in like a fine piece of art, as he explained, âBeing a part of the prestigious Snow family, Rein will have certain expectations to stand up to now, as do you.â
âI didn't sign up for this, Coriolanus.â You shook your head. Staring at a wall, you bitterly remarked, âMy mother decided to marry Crassus, but I didn't know that meant I'd have to be some perfect, rich military brat.â
âYes, well, we just have to make the best of our circumstances.â Coriolanus told you, his voice a bit crisp and tight. His large, pale hand heavily rested on your thigh. His face got dangerously close to yours, causing his breath to warm your skin. His icy eyes flashed with a fire as he smirked, âAt least you have me to guide you, ensure that you're perfect.â
Your heart was racing wildly in your chest. Was your soon to be stepbrother coming on to you?
No. He couldn't be.
He couldn't.
Could he?
But before you could find out, Coriolanus was called by his father to help show the movers where to place your things.
Leaving you alone in your room with a million different thoughts swimming in your head.
Not long after moving into the Snow penthouse, you were asked out on a date by Sejanus Plinth. He was very cute and sweet. Plus he came from a good family.
And you accepted, much to Coriolanus' horror.
Dinner that night was interesting, to say the least.
âBut father, you can't let her go out with him. He's district.â Coriolanus protested after hearing Crassus approve of your date plans for the following night.
Grandma'amâs wrinkled face shook with worry. âCoriolanus is right, Crassus. The district boy might hurt her. Heâs not Capitol blood; he's not civilized despite living amongst us.â
âSejanus is a sweet boy. Iâve heard only good things about him from Mrs. Plinth.â Your mother smiled in between daintily eating her spoonful of soup.
Correction, not soup, but a tomato lobster cream bisque that was the first of 4 courses. Which also included a desert.
Yea, dinners were a lavish affair in the Snow household. But since Crassus had a cook on staff, you guess they could be.
Coriolanusâ jaw twitched at your mother's words. He felt that she was foolish for taking the words of a district woman to heart. That she shouldn't be encouraging you to go out with that dirty district dog just because his mother- no his ma, said he's a sweet boy.
He's district and anyone with a drop of district blood in them hated those born and bred in the Capitol. Even those who were district transplants that were allowed into the Capitol as a reward for making their fortunes from betraying the blood of their own couldn't be trusted. No, not when their blood wasn't pure, but was tainted.
Sejanus Plinth, although living in the Capitol and being from a filthy rich family, was and always will be a filthy, dirty blooded, district dog. He was undeserving of you. Infact, even a boy from the Capitol was undeserving of you.
Because you deserve nothing, but the best. You were a part of the Snow family, so only the best for you.
And that was him.
Coriolanus was the best. The only one worthy of you.
He knew it was taboo, forbidden even, but he didn't give a fuck.
Coriolanus was going to have you and his father approving of your date with that damn district born Plinth boy wasn't going to stop him.
General Snow reached for his goblet of wine, only to announce in a deep, authoritative tone, âI've given my approval of Y/Nâs date with Sejanus Plinth, so all protests of it will stop.â Giving his son a hard look, Crassus cruelly remarked, âCoriolanus, son, perhaps you should find a girl to entertain yourself with instead of your studies. I wonder about you sometimes, if you even like girls at all.â An evil glint appeared in the light blonde general's cerulean eyes. âPerhaps you'd rather go out with the Plinth boy tomorrow night instead of sending Y/N.â
The room went deadly silent. One could hear a pin drop.
âCrassusâŠâ Grandmaâam shook her pearl encrusted turbin covered head at her son. Her blue eyes were full of disappointment.
Your mother didn't say a word, just kept eating her soup. If she felt bad, well she didn't show it. Her grey eyes were glued to her spoon, as if the liquid in it was the most fascinating thing she's ever seen.
Coriolanus flew up off his chair, causing it to loudly clatter to the floor, and stormed out of the dining room.
âCoriolanus!â You called out after him, rising from your own chair with the intention to follow after him.
You felt bad for Coriolanus, for what his father said at the supper table. It was uncalled for. It was disgusting and rude. He was trying to shame and embarrass his son, it wasn't right.
Before you could even make it an inch away from the table, your future stepfather rose from the table and rounded on you. Roughly grabbing your wrist, he coldly said, âLet him sulk like the weakling he is. Sit down, Y/N, and finish your first course.â
Everything inside of you screamed to listen to Crassus, to just sit down and eat that damn tomato-lobster bisque, but your need to run to Coriolanus, to make sure that he was alright, won out. You don't even know why, but you seemed drawn to your future stepbrother. You couldn't just abandon him to wallow in misery by himself.
You wretched your arm out of the generalâs cold, tight hold. Looking up at him, you said, âI'm not hungry anymore, Crassus.â
âYou'll address me as father now, you little brat.â Crassus ordered, towering over you. The imposing war hero looked ready to kill. It seems that nobody has ever stood up to him before, but always fell in line with his command.
You nodded and went to turn around, only for your âfatherâ to grab your wrist once more in a tight hold. His grip on your small wrist was so hard that you could feel the bones squeezing painfully together.
He twisted your arm behind your back, making your wrist flare as if it was on fire while the rest of your arm threatened to snap like a twig, and spin you around to look at the table.
Crassus' voice was deep and full of cruelty as he told you, âTake a good look at your soup, dearest daughter, because your serving will be given to the Avox.â
Your eyes looked at the table, but not at the soup. No, you looked at the pair of women seated at it. Silently, you begged them to help you. Sadly, they wouldn't.
NoâŠ
Your mother was too preoccupied with her bowl of soup, or maybe she was afraid of crossing her future husband. And Grandma'am, oh the elderly woman just gave her son a pitiful look, but wouldn't dare speak up against him.
âIn fact, for your insubordination you'll starve tonight.â You heard your mother's fiance chuckle cold-heartedly.
Crassus shoved you to the side, causing you to hit the ground with a loud thud. The force of your side colliding with the hard marble floor knocked the wind out of you. So much so, that you didn't even hear the sound of large, loud footsteps hurrying over to you as you weakly pushed yourself up.
You felt a large hand wrap around your upper arm, but the touch was different than before. The long fingers weren't bruising around you, but surprisingly gentle with their lithe hold.
You felt yourself being lifted up to stand on your own two feet as Crassus seethed at his son, the one helping you, âCoriolanus, take that bitch with you and keep her all night. I don't want to see either one of your disrespectful faces until morning.â
Coriolanusâ eyes were full of icy hate as he curtly nodded at his father. Without a word, he ushered you away from the dining room.
Sadly, he'd have to teach you that General Crassus Snow likes his children to be seen and not heard. That he enjoyed slinging out biting, stinging remarks to cut down his children. That he was worse then the devil to deal with. That life could either be hell or something worse then hell with the Snow patriarch.
Coriolanus Snow would teach you how to navigate life under his father's roof because you're his.
Yes, your mother might be marrying his father, but nevertheless you are his and therefore he must protect you.
âWhat did you do to make him lash out?â Coriolanus asked, sitting with you on his bed.
His room, you discovered, was sparsely decorated. Just like yours, all he had was a bed, a nightstand, a desk and chair. A couple of portraits hung on the walls, and a few trinkets were stacked on the window sill. Oh, and a couple of pictures frames and small items were on his desk, overlooking his school books and papers.
But, all in all, it felt as empty as your room did.
DamnâŠ
This house was cold and empty, full of nothing but sorrow and hate it seemed.
And your mother willingly brought you here.
Fuck your lifeâŠ
âI got up from the table to follow you; make sure that you were okay.â You honestly told Coriolanus, listening to the sound of his father yelling at your mother about how unmannered you were.
Oh, and they were still in the dining room.
YeaâŠ
That's how loud Crassus was.
Biting your bottom lip, you looked at the boy with platinum curls that you were stuck with for the night, and told him, âThank you for coming back and helping me, Coriolanus.â
Coriolanus tucked a stray strand of your hair behind your ear. âY/N, my darling, you belong to me. I'll always come back for you, help you when in danger.â
Before you could even ask him what he meant by belonging to him, he leaned forward and pressed his lips to yours. It caught you off guard. You honestly weren't expecting his lips to be so lush, so soft. And you definitely weren't expecting him to kiss you.
He's going to be your stepbrother soon.
For Christ's sake!
He's going to be your stepbrother!
That revelation caused you to place your hands on his chest and gently push him away, while leaning your head back to break the one-sided kiss. You looked into his icy blue eyes, only to see something dark swimming in them.
Correction: not something dark, but lust.
âWhat's wrong, Y/N? Why did you push me away?â He asked, voice heavy with wonder. Lust blown baby blue eyes never leaving yours.
âYou're going to be my stepbrother soon, Coriolanus. We can't kiss and stuff, it's not right.â
âOh, darling, we're not blood related, so it's perfectly fine for us to kiss and to fuck.â Coriolanus assured you with a whisper in your ear. His breath was hot against your cheek as he confessed, âI've been watching you at the Academy for years, my little dove. Fucking my fist every night to fantasies of you and now that I have you with me, well, Y/N, I'm not ever letting you go.â
âYou've liked me for that long?â You asked in bewilderment.
He couldn't have liked you for so many years, only to never make a move.
Could he?
It just didn't seem possible.
âMhmâŠâ Coriolanus hummed, only to nip at a spot right below your ear. âYou've consumed my thoughts since we were 13, my darling rose.â
What? He's had a crush on you since you were 13?!
Like what?....
He's liked you for that long and never said a word? Never made a move, until now?
WowâŠ
âCorio-â You began, only for him to sigh and cut you off with, âPlease, call me Coryo.â
Nodding, you turned your head slightly so you could look at him. âCoryo, you should've told me how you felt years ago.â Your eyes flickered to his hand, that had found its way on your thigh, and back up to his baby blues. âIt's too late to do anything about it now. Our parents are getting married and I'm Sejanus' girlfriend now.â
Coriolanus did not like that remark. Oh no, he didn't like it one bit.
You're NOT Sejanus' girlfriend!
You're his girl, you belonged to him. Hell, you're part of the family now too.
His, his, his!
You're his and he's going to show you.
âYou don't belong to him, Y/N. Youâre mine.â Coryo darkly declared, only to kiss you.
He kissed you with so much fervor. He was a man possessed as his lips slid against yours. Kisses you as if you were the air he needed to breathe.
This time you didn't push him away. Instead, your lips moved against his. Your hands tightly fisted his shirt; pulling him closer as your lips clashes with his.
Coriolanus pushes you onto your back, causing you to let out a surprised gasp. He used your shock to deepen the kiss by slipping his tongue into your mouth.
His hand caressed the inside of your thigh as his tongue explored your mouth. Tasting you as if you're the sweetest treat.
Your hands ran up his chest and snaked around his neck as your tongue flickered against his, causing you both to moan. As your tongues began an intimate dance, his other hand found its way to your neck.
You pulled away slightly, catching your breath as your lips hovered close to his.
âCoryo.â You breathlessly moaned, feeling his long fingers brush against your soaking wet panties.
âYou're so wet for me, darling.â He smugly told you. âYou need me, don't you?â He asked, even though he knew that your entire being aches for him at this very moment.
Coryo wanted, no needed, to hear you tell him that you wanted him to fuck you dumb. That only he could take away the ache in your cunt.
Him, the very reason for your wet pussy.
âCoryoâŠwe can'tâŠâ You weakly protested as your core aches with a fiery desire. One that you've never felt so fiercely before.
Or at least until now.
âWe can, little dove.â He told you, using his fingers to slip your panties to the side. The air hitting your wet pussy causes you to shudder.
Your reaction has him smirking. Pulling your legs open wide for him, he announced in a dark, lustful tone, âI'm gonna fuck you and you're gonna like it, Y/N.â
Breaking eye contact with him as his hands ran over the insides of your spread thighs, you confessed, âI've never done this before, Coryo.â
âYouâre a virgin.â Coriolanus stated, not asked. He knew youâve never been fucked before. He would've known if you had since he stalked looked after you from afar for years.
âYeaâŠâ You trailed off, blushing in embarrassment.
God, your skirt was bunched up and your legs were spread wide open, like a whore in heat, with your panties pushed aside exposing your dripping tight hole to your step brother. And here you were, blushing at having to confirm that you're a virgin.
Coryo took a sick pleasure in you being embarrassed about your innocence despite the wanton state he had you in.
âDon't worry, your stepbrother's going to change that.â
âGod, Coryo, don't call yourself my stepbrother while my legs are spread for you. It's dirty.â
âAnd you're my dirty little slut because your cuntâs drooling and clenching around the air from my dirty words.â Coriolanus taunted as his hands rested on either side of your pussy, thumbs spreading open the lips to expose your tight dripping hole to him. âOh, darling, you've got such a pretty pussy for me.â He cooed, dipping his head down between your spread legs
âOh godâŠâ You shakily moan, feeling Coryo lick a thick stripe up your cute with his hot, wet tongue.
You could feel him smirking against you before his tongue flickered your clit.
âCoryo.â You moaned as he wrapped his lips around your clit and sucked on it.
He smacked the inside of your thigh, only to lift his head away from your pussy and hiss, âShut up, bitch. Don't wanna get caught, do we?â
âSorry, it just felt really good.â You apologized, your voice tinted with need.
âYou're forgiven, darling, but don't be loud again or else I won't prep you. I'll just fuck you face first in my pillow to muffle your screams and call it a night.â He told you, making new gush of wetness spill out of your pussy. âOh, looks like me fucking you face first in the mattress turns you on, stepsister.â Coryo darkly chuckled, his breath hot against your aching core. âDon't worry, I'll do that to you, but not tonight. Tonight's your first time and I don't want to hurt my girl. I want to swallow your moans of pleasure, not muffle your moans of pain.â He told you before placing his mouth back on your dripping cunt.
âMmmmâŠ.â You bite your lip, preventing your moan from being too loud, as Coriolanus sucked on your clit.
Your hands found their way into his platinum curls as his tongue teased your tight, wet hole. His thumbs let go of your pussy lips as his mouth latches onto your cunt, tongue messily lapping thru your folds. His hands grabbed onto your thighs, spreading them even wider.
Painfully wider.
But you couldn't help, but curl your toes into the mattress as his icy blue eyes pierced into your soul. He looked at you with such hunger as he messily ate you out.
It was as if he craved you; couldn't get enough of you.
As if he was starved and you're the only meal he's eaten in days.
Your hands tightened in his hair as you felt his tongue enter your hole, fucking you.
âCoryoâŠmoreâŠâ You begged, for what you didn't quite know, as your chest began to heave up and down heavily.
Coriolanus knew exactly what you needed.
You needed your tight cunt filled and fucked.
And he was going to give you exactly what you needed.
He wrapped his lips around your clit sucking it harshly, as he slipped his middle finger into your pussy.
Coriolanus moaned at how tight your hole clenched around his long fingers. The tightness of your virgin cunt clenching around his digits had him rock hard and grinding into his mattress. Fuck, he couldn't wait to have his cock inside your tight pussy. Stretching it to its limit, making it fit around his large cock.
âCoryoâŠfeels so goodâŠâ You panted as he fucked you with his finger while sucking on your clit.
He smirked against your clit, only to add his pointer finger into your cunt. He curled his long fingers up inside your slick walls, causing you to writhe in pleasure every time he hit that spongy spot deep inside of you.
âI-I thinkâŠâ You trailed off, biting your lip to keep a moan from spilling out, as you felt pressure build up in your lower belly.
âYou think you're gonna cum?â Coryo supplied for you, his breath hot on your cunt, as he began to piston his fingers deep inside of you. He knew you were close by how tight your cunt was squeezing his fingers. He couldn't wait until it was squeezing his cock.
âYea.â You squeakily nodded.
âI want you to cum on my face like the little slut you are. Can you do that for me, darling?â Coriolanus told you, his voice raspy and thick with lust, before dipping his head back between your spread legs and sucking your clit.
âPleaseâŠmake me cum, Coryo. Please, so closeâŠâ You begged, causing him to fuck his fingers up into furiously while sucking hard and fast on your clit.
He needed to taste your juices spilling out onto his chin, needed to feel your pussy tightening around his fingers. He craved it like the headmaster at the Academy craved a fix of morphling.
Your toes curled tightly in the sheets and your nails scratched Coryo's scalped as you came with the sound of his name on your lips.
He slowed his movements just enough to help you ride out your high. His tongue greedily lapped up every bit of your juices that came squirting out of your pussy.
Your hands fell out of his curls as you began to calm down from your high. You couldn't help, but smile at how messy his hair looked as a result of you pulling on it.
When Coryo pulled his fingers out of you and sat up, sucking them clean, you were horrified to see that his chin was glistening, that your juices were dripping down his chin and onto his neck. Your cheeks flushed red and you quickly sat up, trying to clean the wetness from his chin. âI'm so sorry, I-â You attempted to apologize, only to be cut off by Coryo chuckling, âDon't apologize, darling. You squirting all over my face turns me on.â
âReally?â You asked, eyes wide with shock.
âReally.â He nodded, grabbing your hand that you used to wipe his chin with. Bringing your palm up to your face, he huskily ordered, âNow taste yourself.â
You blinked, feeling your pussy begin to pool and ache again, only to obey Coryoâs command and lick his hand clean.
The taste of yourself was a bit sweet and tangy. It was also intoxicating.
Standing up and pulling you up with him, Coryo said, âWe need to get undressed.â
âOkay.â You nodded, feeling a bit nervous despite having just had Coriolanusâ platinum blonde head between your legs mere moments ago.
You went to grab the hem of your dress, only to have Coryo bat your hands away and grab it himself. âLift your arms up, darling.â You nodded and did what you were told. Quickly, he pulled your dress off and tossed it to the side. âTake your bra and panties off.â He instructed while quickly working to unbutton his shirt.
Coriolanusâ lust blown eyes were glued to you as you reached behind your back and unhooked your bra. He felt his breath hitch as you took off your simple, white lace bra.
âOh, little dove, your tits are perfect.â He cooed while removing his shirt and tossing it to the side.
You shook your head, only to look down at the floor and sigh, âNo they're not, Coryo. You don't have to say that.â
Being nearly 18, you're self conscious about your boob size. Especially since you didn't seem to be as developed as the most popular girl in school. The girl that every boy (well, maybe not every boy since Coriolanus was half naked in his room with you) wanted to fuck. The perfect, pretty, popular, dirty blonde with jewel tone eyes.
Livia Cardew.
Coryo had just toed off his shoes and unbuckled his belt when your self doubt caused him to stop undressing. He closed the small space between you and reached his hands out to grab your tits.
You shyly bit your lip as he squeezed them. âYour tits are perfect because I say so, my darling.â Coriolanus huskily told you as the pad of his thumbs roughly ran over your nipples.
âBut I'm not-â You began to protest, a feeble attempt at explaining your thoughts, only for Coryo to cut you off with, âShut up, I told you that I think your tits are perfect.â He roughly squeezed them. âAs long as I say they're perfect, little dove, then they are.â He declared before bending his head and taking one of your, now pebbled, nipples into your mouth.
The feeling of his wet tongue swirling around your nipples while his fingers tweaked your other one has you rubbing your thighs together, seeking friction to relieve that growing ache between your legs.
Letting go of your nipple with a wet pop, his lust filled blue eyes bore into yours as he orders, âUnzip and pull my pants off, Y/N.â
âOkay.â You nodded before doing as you're told with shaky hands, all the while Coryo was biting and nipping at a spot on your left boob.
You knew he was leaving a hickey there and, for some reason, it turned you on. The idea of him marking you as his made something flare up in you.
You've never had somebody want you before, but Coryo wants you so much that he's putting his mark on you. Staking his claim.
Coryo pulled his head up off your chest as his pants pooled around his long legs. Stepping out of them and kicking them to the side, he smirked, âYou should take your panties off. But put your kitten heels back on, I want to fuck you in them.â
âOkay.â You nodded, pulling down your lace white panties while watching him pull off his socks.
You bent over and grabbed your shoes from the floor. Putting on your black kitten heels, your eyes popped out of your head as you watched him pull down his boxers only for his big cock to spring free and slap up against his lower stomach. You've never seen a cock before, but you knew his was big. It was long and girthy. Must be at least 8 inches, had veins on the underside and an angry red head that's tip was leaking precum.
You felt yourself gushing just from looking at it. Oh my God, how is that going to fit inside of your pussy.
âDon't worry, it'll fit.â Coryo assured you, a proud grin on his angular face.
What the hell? Did you say that out loud about him not being able to fit? Oh hellâŠyou must've.
Taking your hand in his large one, he brought you over to the bed. âLay down and spread your legs as wide as you can for me.â He instructed.
Nodding, you quickly laid on the bed and spread your legs for him. Your knees slightly bent, kitten heels slightly digging into the mattress.
âFuck, your pussyâs so perfect.â Coriolanus swore while kneeling onto the bed, right between your shaking thighs. âPerfect and all mine.â He said while using his thumb to smear his precum around his cockhead. He began to give himself a few shallow pumps, to coat his cock with his precum, as you stared up at him with anticipation dancing in your eyes.
âYou want me, Y/N?â Coriolanus asked, lining his dick up with your pussy. âOnce I have you, take your virginity, I'm not letting you go.â He told you, teasing his cock thru your wet folds. âI fuck you and you're mine forever. You understand me, my darling rose?â He seriously asked, giving you a last minute opportunity to back out, as his dick bumped your clit.
Your hands held onto his shoulders as you looked him square in his icy blue eyes and confidently said, âMake me yours, Coryo. I want to be yours.â
That was the sweetest thing he ever heard. You begging him to make you his. Saying that you wanted to be his.
Coriolanus was in heaven.
He dipped his head down and captured your lips in a quick, but needy kiss before lining his tip up with your tight hole. He leaned his forehead against yours as he surged forward, pushing his length inside of your tight walls.
Your nails clawed at him and your eyes teared up at the stinging sensation of being stretched wide open on his large cock for the first time in your life. You bite your lip, swallowing back a cry, as your walls struggled to accommodate his large cock.
Coryo was about halfway in whenever he brushed away a stray tear rolling down your cheek. âYou're taking me so well.â He praised. Kissing your cheek, he said, âJust a little bit more, Y/N. I know you can handle it. You cunt's made for my cock.â
âIt stings, Coryo.â You gritted out, feeling him pop your cherry before sliding the rest on the way in and bottoming it.
âI know, it does. I know it does, darling.â The platinum blonde told you in a feeble attempt to soothe away your pain. With a proud smile, he pointed between you and said, âLook, a perfect fit.â
You looked down to see that he had disappeared inside of you; the only evidence of his cock being the outlining bulge in the bottom of your tummy. You ran your fingers over the outline in awe, causing your-hell you don't know what to call him right now except for Coryo, to shudder blissfully.
Bringing his large hand to cover yours as it traced over his bulge in your tummy, he proudly announced, âMy cockâs deep up inside of your womb, darling.â Lacing your fingers with his, he pinned your hand onto the mattress and began slowly thrusting into you. âI'm gonna fuck my baby up into your womb. Show everyone that you belong to me.â
His words were like a bucket of ice water being dumped over your head. The reality that you weren't on birth control and had your soon to be stepbrother's cock in your not so virginal pussy anymore had you slightly panicking.
âCoryo, you can't do that. You can't cum inside of me. I'm not on anything and our parentsâll be mad if-â You began to frantically ramble as Coryo fucked his cock slow, but deep inside of you, only for him to cut you off with a rough toned, âI don't give a fuck what those assholes think, Y/N. I'm 18 and soon you'll be 18, so they have no say over us fucking.â
You bit your lip, leaving out a mewl, as your felt his dick brush up against the spongy spot inside of you.
âHell, come mid-summer we'll be graduating the Academy, so knocking you up won't interfere with your education cause there's only a handful of months left til the games and the graduation ceremony.â
âCoryo, were too young. Just, please, pull out before you cum.â You pleaded with innocent eyes.
Coryo couldn't grant you that. He couldn't do that for you. He's selfish and wants you all to himself. What better way to ensure that you stay with him then to baby trap you?
It's perfect, really.
Knock you up and you're stuck with him forever.
Nobody will ever want you let alone look twice at you once they see you're pregnant with his baby.
With your stepbrother's baby.
Oh, yes, knocking you up will make the perfect scandal that'll keep you two together forever.
Plus, Crassus won't want the shame of having a bastard grandchild, so he'll push for Coriolanus and you to marry in order to give the baby a legal name.
Sadly, Coryo underestimates how evil and cruel his father can be (even to his unborn grandchild). If he wasn't so pussydrunk, maybe Coryo would've realized that knocking you up would only enrage his father.
But he wasn't thinking clearly. He's pussydrunk and high on his obsessive love for you.
âI'm not pulling out, Y/N.â Coryo firmly told you. Speeding up his movements, he grunted, âNow stop whining and enjoy me fucking you.â
You didn't argue about the subject of him pulling out anymore, just nodded your head and let the feelings of pleasure wash over you.
Your breath hitched and you let out a mewl when Coryo's hands grabbed a hold of your legs and pressed them into your chest, causing them to rest on his shoulders as he began to thrust harder into you.
âCoryoâŠyou feel even biggerâŠâ You muttered, the position change making him hit deeper inside of you.
âYou like my big cock fucking splitting open your pussy, don't you? Fuck, your taking my cock like such a little cock slut, Y/N.â He darkly told you, lust tainting his voice, as you scratched his back and babbled his name.
âCoryo, please. I'm so close. So closeâŠâ You begged him to make you cum as your head got heavy, making you feel like you're underwater.
âI'll make you cum, darling. I'll make you cum right now on my cock.â Coryo told you, snaking his hand between your bodies only to roughly rub and pinch your puffy clit.
The feeling of his thumb roughly abusing your clit and his cock deeply plowing into your pussy has you clenching around him, cumming hard with his name on your tongue like a prayer.
Coryo fucked your thru the aftershocks of your second orgasm, only to sloppily speed up and chase his own release.
âI'm gonna cum inside your pussy and you're gonna take it all, Y/N. You're gonna drain my cock dry, little dove.â He told you as he felt his heavy balls, that were slapping relentlessly against your ass, tense up.
âCoryo, I think I'm gonna cum again.â You told him, feeling that warm fluttery feeling well up in your lower belly once more.
âFuck, your creaming my cock like such a good little slut.â Coryo groaned at the sight of the white creamy ring you were leaving around the base of him. âFuckâŠâ He gasped, about to cum. âCum with me, darling. Cum with me.â He demanded, his hips stuttering before he let out his release.
You came again once you felt his hot cum shoot up deep inside of you in thick ropes.
âOh fuckâŠâ Coryo panted, collapsing on top of you.
âOh fuckâŠâ You agreed with him, kicking your feet and causing your black kitten heels to go flying across the room.
Your legs limply slipped from his shoulders as your hands shakily carded thru his sweaty light blonde curls. All while his face nestled into your perfect tits. Coryo's softening cock was still nestled inside of you, but you didn't mind. The closeness felt nice.
Your first time was amazing. It was nothing like the horror stories you heard other girls at the Academy gossip about. You were lucky that Coryo knew what he was doing. You felt wanted for the first time in your life after losing your virginity to him.
Coriolanus felt that fucking you was the best experience in his life. Honestly, it sure beats all those stupid quickies he had with dumb whores in the alley behind the club. He'd never tell you that tho.
No, you didn't need to know about his sexual past.
All that you needed to know was that youâre the only one that he wants. The only pussy that heâs getting his dick wet with for now on is yours.
You were cuddling in bed together, blankets pulled up around the both of you. Your head was resting in the crook of his neck as his long fingers raked thru your hair.
You felt happy in this moment, but you knew that it couldn't last. That it has to end. Your parents were getting married.
You could never be together, not truly.
You were going to be stepsiblings soon. Being together would be considered taboo.
Coryo could sense something was bothering you. âWhat's the matter, darling?â He asked, searching your eyes.
âWe can't do this again, Coryo. Despite how we feel, it's taboo.â You told him, breaking eye contact with him because you didn't want to see his reaction.
âY/N, I don't care what society thinks about us, our situation.â The platinum blonde spat. Lifting your chin up, so you had to look him in the eyes, he swore, âYou're mine and I'm not giving you up. I'll kill anyone that tries to take you away from me, Y/N.â Coryo leaned in, kissing you on the lips. âIt's us against the world, my darling rose. And you know what? Snow always lands on top.â
You were tired and didn't want to fight, so you decided to give in to him, to the man whose arms you were in. âOkay, us against the world then.â You smiled, eyes fluttering tiredly.
âOne day when I'm the president and you're my first lady, nobody'll even remember that our parents decided to get married. And if they do, well, they won't be breathing for long to say anything about it.â You heard Coriolanus tell you while drifting off to sleep, warm and safe in his strong hold.
If only you knew how many people Coriolanus would kill in his lifetime, would you still stick by his side?
Probably, since he was ingrained in your soul once you gave him your precious gift that was your innocence- your virginity.
After all, you discovered quickly after becoming a part of the toxic Snow family that it truly was you and Coryo against the world.

You hated that man.Â
If there was something you were sure about, it was that you didnât want to be here with him, at the same table having lunch. You could feel his perking blue eyes staring into your soul even though he was not looking at you, he was meticulously cutting an apple with his long fingers and a shiny knife.
How did you get here? The man you so wholeheartedly hated, was now part of your life, and you couldnât do anything about it. You felt like that apple he was cutting so carefully, peeling your skin, your essence, the way he was holding it seemed he was scared it could run away. You could run away.Â
The problem was, you would never run away. Run away to whom? To your mother who disclaimed you? To those friends who didnât help you out? You had no choice. Now the only thing you had was your reputation ruined for a fatal mistake that could have been avoided. That was not enough, the only way to clean your image was to be with Snow. The charismatic, intelligent and kind Coriolanus Snow. Or this was what people said about him. What The Capitol said about him.
You didnât think the same. You knew who he really was, you saw what they couldn't see. He was evil, he was the one who got the games so popular with his ideas, the one who didnât mind sending children to death.
You and Coriolanus had only one thing in common. Maybe two or three. One of them was that you both needed each otherâs influence in society for different interests. His strategy to win the elections included a woman by his side to make him look reliable and sensitive, but he mostly planned on taking advantage of your popularity to make his own name. You, on the other hand, just needed someone who could clean your reputation after a little incident.
Who better than the master manipulator Coriolanus Snow? You werenât thrilled with the idea of spending time with him. But it was going to be just for once. The gala before the official beginning of presidential elections, the most awaited event in the Capitol.
The agreement was playing the part of two lovers who not by chance people already knew, his name was well known. Yours? Still on the news. It was just a ball, you could do a night of pretending.Â
âTigris said you haven't tried your dress on yet,â his voice interrupted your thoughts, and you looked in his direction to see his expression.Â
He still had the apple in his hands and he was cutting it in half-moon shapes, he took one bite in his mouth and he directly stared at you while chewing. You tried to hide your disgust as Snow's eyes met yours, his smile sending chills down your spine. It was as you had imagined, or even worse, you felt his blue eyes dissecting you in pieces, like he was examining you, looking for your deepest secrets. You knew that staying calm and composed in his presence was crucial.Â
âI donât want to, it fits me.â You didnât even look at that dress, it was even sent to your house but you refused to open the box knowing that he chose it.
âI hope it will,â Coriolanus didnât take his eyes off of yours. âAt least try to read how you should answer the questions, many people will be there,â he then said while standing up from his chair. His tall frame loomed over you, and you couldn't help but shiver under his intense gaze.Â
âAre you giving me homework to do now?â you said, looking up at him.
âIâm simply providing you with some advice,â his voice tinged with subtle amusement. âOh, you think itâs going to be simple after all you did? âThe Capitol wonât forgive you easily,â then he walked away, leaving you alone in the dining room.Â
This day felt longer than ever. The morning before you had received a letter from Snowâs manor telling you that someone was going to pick you up to prepare you for the event. It was signed by his publicist, Iris. You met her a couple of times before: a well dressed woman who knew too much about anyone's business in the Capitol. It was her idea to have lunch with him, âjust to get to know each other more,â she said, but for you it was just a reminder of his real personality. They even gave you a room for the day, two chambers away from his, quoting Irisâs letter âthis way you can feel comfortable,â you thought she was too attentive and kind to work for someone like Snow.
Iris was the one convincing you to take part in this gala, she explained to you that someone cherished like Coriolanus would draw the attention away from the scandal. You two just had to pretend to be together, âthe Capitol loves unexpected new couples,â the publisher said to you the first time you saw her, âthe young aspiring president and the woman everybody talks about.â Iris was convinced that this way Coriolanus was seen as the devoted partner who wasnât afraid of your bad reputation, and you as the woman ready to rise from the ashes.Â
You ran into your room and slammed the door so loud you hoped he could hear you. You found a big envelope on your bedsheets, and you hoped it was some sort of -hey remember the incident? Itâs not your fault, everything itâs okay!-thing, but unfortunately, it was not a free pass to the world. It was a sheet listing all possible answers to some questions you might be asked today at the gala. It was like a script to follow to save your face, to look good in front of the cameras, in front of the-very-judging-elitĂš. In that sheet, you could find any imaginable question they could ask, where your dress was from or who your family were.Â
âDid you do that on purpose?â It was one of the questions, and you thought this was something Snow would ask you. He didnât say a thing about what you did, in the few times you talked he never asked you directly about the scandal. He could have wanted explanations, the real version of the story from you, but he never said a word. You read the answers on the sheet, and they were all perfectly written, so meticulously explained using the Capitol-vocabulary, elegant words and a candid tone.Â
âHow did you meet Mr. Snow?â Your heart skipped a beat, you didnât consider being asked about your fake relationship with him, it was all new to you.
ââŠit was love at first sight, who couldnât love an extraordinary man like him, I immediately fell in love.â You had to read the full answer twice to be certain you werenât hallucinating.Â
You would never have said those words, never in a billion years, not even under torture, of course you were ready to lie, but lying to this level? It was too much. You knew it was him who wrote this answer, you imagined the grin on his face while typing those words about him. You were mad. The answers about your dating life with Coriolanus were filled with romantic moments and exaggerated gestures that made you feel uncomfortable reading their unrealistic nature. You tried imagining those things happening in real life, but it felt completely alien and artificial. It was difficult to believe that anyone could genuinely experience those events. With Coriolanus mostly. You read the pages, over and over, a book would have been better because there was too much to read, but instead, you were stuck with a bunch of printed documents detailing your supposed love story.Â
He also put dates on when things happened: your first date in the lake house in July, the time you had dinner in a fancy restaurant in August and the day you moved in his place. Lies. Lies. Lies. Apparently you officially started dating three months ago. Three? You scrolled over the pages, hoping not to read what you were thinking.Â
ââŠafter the incident, Coryo was very supportive, always there to comfort and reassure me even though all I did. I felt like I betrayed him too, but he always said we could get through it together, and I found myself falling for him all over again.â You knew none of this ever happened, and yet here it was, staring back at you in black and white. It was as if the words were playing tricks, as if the words were there to pretend instead of simply put on paper.
You sighed and closed the file, feeling a mix of frustration, confusion, and irritation. He was never there for you. Nobody was. You were all alone. After that day, you cried every night, and you were the one reassuring yourself, lying in front of the mirror saying âitâs going to be okayâ while your sense of guilt was slowly eating your guts. He wanted to appear like the perfect partner, but you knew the truth. It was all a façade. Deep down, you knew the real him, and it took all your strength to acknowledge the reality. You threw the stack of files on the floor, it was all too much.Â
You got up from the bed, and you went directly to his room, determined to confront him about the distorted reality that had been painted in those files. You didnât even knock on his door, and you felt surprised when you noticed it wasnât locked. You open the door, and you close it from behind, entering the room. He was standing close to his bed, completely oblivious to your presence. It was like he expected you to burst into his room out of nowhere.
âYou finally read the file,â he said, looking at his wrist without making eye contact.Â
He was focusing on buttoning his cuff links, his fingers fumbling with the buttons, his white shirt still open and his blonde hair wet from the shower. His normally confident demeanor was replaced with vulnerability as he waited for your response, the tension thick in the air. It was the very first time you saw him not perfectly dressed up, without styled hair and shiny shoes. The sight of him standing there, so different from his usual self, caught you off guard.
âYes, Iâve read your fabricated tale,â you said, trying not to look at him, at the droplets of water sliding down his temple, his fingers still struggling with the shirt. âYou should have become a fiction book writer, you got talent.âÂ
"I just wanted to impress you," he admitted, finally looking up to meet your gaze. âI can see I got a reaction from you,â he definitely succeeded in catching your attention, with those iper-articulated lies, not even close to what really happened.
âThe agreement was that I won't say anything bad about you, just be by your side as a trophy-fake-girlfriend in this stupid gala, inventing absurd stories won't win my reputation back," you said firmly, crossing your arms.Â
He reached his desk where there was a glass of some alcohol sloshing around, poured himself a drink and took a long, deep swig. âThey won't believe you if you only stand by me like a mannequin, you have to be an active member of their social life, so they can get to know you, sympathize you and maybe forgive you,â he said in a calm tone, you could see his profile while he was again drinking from his glass, his shirt still open that showed his toned body.
You immediately looked away taking a deep breath. âI won't be a part of any false narrative you wrote,â was the only thing that came to your mind.Â
He scoffed his head, âJust for the period of the presidential campaign, nothing more.âÂ
âAre you suggesting that this ridiculous act is going to take longer than just a day?âÂ
âI know you donât like me, you just need to pretend you do. Iâll do the same,â he took another sip of that liquor while looking at you, âthe publicist said just one appearance at the gala isnât going to be beneficial to either of us.â
âWhy are you telling me this now? The plan was slightly different,â you said
âOh I knew you were going to be reluctant about the idea of pretending to live here, just for show,â he was serious, his fierce eyes looking at you waiting for a reply.
âI almost tolerated your presence at work, and now you want me to live in the same house as yours?â You askedÂ
âAfter the gala, they are going to focus on the ânew coupleâ, our performance has to be something they really believe in,â he leaned his head at the same height as yours, âwe already donât have that chemistry, at least they are going to think we live together,â Coriolanus said to your ear, his curls brushing your cheek.Â
âI simply decline your proposal, find someone else.â You said with a fake smile.
âDidnât journalists harass you every time you left your little apartment? How exhausting, isnât it?â He whispered in a sarcastic tone, making you remember all those times you ran away from photographers. âI got peacekeepers here, no one is going to bother you anymore, as long as you donât bother me,â he turned to the desk, placing the empty glass in a tray, âstrangers in real life, lovers on the outside.âÂ
âThe problem is that I despise you, I cannot do this for one more day,â you couldnât see his expression, just his white see-through shirt displaying his back muscles.
âNo, the problem is that you donât understand how fucked up your situation is,â he was now facing you, âI know people who were condemned for way less, you are lucky,â his words were sharp as blades.
âLucky to have you? Itâs a punishment,â you said and he laughed.Â
âThen donât come at me crying at why people still hate you,â he took a few steps closer to you
âSo you can comfort me like you did a month ago?â You asked him pointing out the most absurd lie in that file.
âOh, so you read every single page, you really did your homework.â
You stood your ground, refusing to be manipulated any longer. He was doing that purposely, just to provoke you, saying those things just to see how far you could take. Coriolanus was looking at you with his piercing gaze, attempting to intimidate you, he expected you to buckle down and crumble in front of him, but you would never give him such satisfaction, you were already in hell, so why not play with fire?Â
âWhy me?â you asked him, and you saw a sense of surprise in his eyes. âWhy, of all the girls in Panem, you decide the only one who can give you trouble?â You took a step closer to his figure, âthere are so many good girls from rich families and intact reputations, why me? Iâll just ruin you.â You said, trying to catch his eyes looking back at you. But you could only see his frowning eyebrows, his wet messy hair and a droplet of water trailing down his neck, you were so close to him, you could hear him breathing.
âEverybody knows your name, bad press is still press,â his eyes finally met yours. âYou are the center of attention,â he took a step back, as if momentarily distancing himself from the tension. âThe presidential elections are extremely competitive, itâs not a race for whoâs superior to whom,â he licked his lips, âbut who is going to perform better for these people looking for distractions. âWe are going to be their little showâ
âSo tell me Coriolanus,â you stepped closer as you were before. The height difference was such that it made you look up at him, you took one side of his shirt in your hand and you buttoned up with the other, feeling his warm torso on your fingers. "How exactly do you propose to fix my reputation while bolstering your own?â you finished, a sly smile dancing on your lips and your eyes looking for him.Â
Coriolanus was looking down at your fingers still brushing his skin, he had his lips parted and he softly whispered, âjust play the game,â his eyes still fixed on you. He was talking about making everything right again, but it felt like there was something more behind those words.Â
You stepped back, trying to compose yourself. âIâm just giving them another reason to hate me with this bunch of lies,â you were looking down at the floor when you heard him stepping closer to you. You didnât look at him, but you could feel his eyes on your face.Â
He lifted your chin with two fingers and made you look up at him, âIâll make them fall for our lie,â he said, his voice was so deep and calm.
âYou are a master manipulator,â you whispered back, looking down again as if the floor was more interesting than the man standing in front of you.Â
You heard him chuckle, and he leaned closer to your ear, âand Iâm going to teach you how to be one too.â
Your first public appearance after the scandal was going to be at this gala. Everything was calculated in detail, the dress you wore had to be long and white, as pure as snow. Your hair had to be loose so it could cover your exposed back, and apparently you had to memorize pages and pages of answers you could give. After your intense conversation in his room you decided to play the game seeing how far you could take, how far you would do to take everything back. He wanted you under his spell, he was trying to shape you how he desired, for his own interests.Â
âDear, why arenât you dressed yet?â The publicist said to you while you were sitting on the smooth sheets of your bed. You had your bathrobe still on, itâs been thirty minutes since you had a shower but you had your head in the clouds.Â
You couldnât stop thinking about your conversation with Coriolanus, his wet hair, the words he said to you, his naked torso, his manipulating eyes. You repeat to yourself that he was Coriolanus Snow, and not any man, he probably told you half the strategy he really had in mind. Being with him was like playing chess blindfolded, you had to trust him but he could mess up your moves, change your plans.
âCome here Iâll help you,â Iris said, she seemed like a good person, she had a comforting smile and an elegant manner with everything she did. She was wearing a short coppery-brown color dress, it was shiny as her nails, decorated with tiny gold stones. You took her hand and you stood up, making the bathrobe fall on the carpet. The silk of the dress soothed your skin like a petal, you looked at the mirror and the weak light coming from your window gently reflected on your bright dress, almost making it shine.Â
âIt is really pretty,â you said astonished while turning to see your exposed back. Then your smile disappeared because you remembered it was him who picked the dress.Â
âYou are making it pretty, my darling,â Iris stated as she fastened the zip on your side. It was a simple dress yet delicate and impressive, it embraced the shape of your body effortlessly.Â
âIt is just a little loose here on your waist,â the woman said, touching the excess fabric on your side. You remembered the conversation early this morning when you proudly said the dress fitted you.
âIâm going to tell Tigris to fix it,â Iris said and you immediately looked at her reflection in the mirror.
âNo please,â she changed her expression, âit is bad luck to mend a dress the same day it is worn,â your mother always said that to you, maybe it was not a popular saying considering the publicist's face.
She tilted her head with a confused smile as she touched the yellow-butterflies-clip in her voluminous red wig. Now that you were thinking about it, you sewed your skirt the day it happened, âitâs just a coincidence, I donât believe in these thingsâ you said to yourself, you were not superstitious but at the same time you avoided superstitions, just in case.
âWhatever you want,â Iris said with a soft smile.Â
You touched your neck and you thought how a shiny pendant would look good. âIris, do we have some necklace to match this dress?â She stepped closer to you looking at your chest.Â
âI think you shouldnât wear any jewelry tonight,â you tilted your head in confusion, âsee, today is your first appearance after the,â she paused, âincident.â
âAnd what is it supposed to do with jeweââ she didnât let you finish your sentence.
âYou could wear pearls or diamonds but what would the elite think? That you want to appear, that you want to show off,â she walked behind you so you could see her reflection in the mirror. âHow you present yourself is the way they perceive you,â Iris brushed your long hair on the side, exposing your neck, âyou are wearing a white dress, âhow pure!â No diamonds, âhow modest!â âtry to think like the socialites, once you enter their minds, your act will get a standing ovationâ. Her words put everything in a different perspective, she really knew what she was doing.Â
You heard a knock on the door, âthe party starts in an hour!â A muffled voice said from the corridor.
âThank you Ariandes, weâre almost done!â Iris said in a loud tone.Â
In less than sixty minutes you had to put on your best mask and try to change the mind of a thousand people about yourself, with Coriolanus by your side, pretending he is your supportive lover. You felt a rush of anxiety on your chest, like a weight pressing against your heart.
âI donât think I can go,â you whispered with a trembling voice. Iris made a worried look.
âOh sweety, I can only imagine what you have been through,â she took a lilac glass flask from the desk beside the mirror, âyou are a strong woman,â she sprayed a lavender fragrance on your neck and she smiled.Â
You looked at yourself in the mirror, and with all your strength you tried to keep the tears that threatened to spill over. âIris, how do I fake being so interested in someone?â You asked, thinking about what was written in that file.Â
âHave you ever been in love?â She asked with a soft gaze.
You didnât know the answer to that question, you had a couple of boyfriends in your university years, but were you in love?Â
âItâs when every atom of your body's only desire is to burn at the mere thought of being with that someone,â Iris looked up, like she was thinking of somebody, you felt even more disoriented with her answer.Â
You couldnât identify that feeling with anyone, youâve never met someone that made âyour cells burnâ. What would that even mean, you thought.
The door opened and you turned your head to see Ariandes, the political advisor, âWe gotta go,â he said looking at Iris. The man had his hair pulled back in a long braid, dark as his skin. You walked in his direction and you followed him.
The moment you stepped into the car you felt a sudden tension, it was dark outside, only one side of Coriolanusâ face was lit up by cars passing by. He was wearing a red coat that covered the rest of the outfit, his blonde locks were lightly falling on his temples and you noticed he was wearing a ring on his left index finger.
âAct as natural as possible,â Coriolanus said and he looked at you, it felt like he was inspecting your body and you wished to be in his mind at that very moment.
Was everything going according to plan?Â
No, you didnât want to know what it was like to be in his head, it was torturing enough being on the outside.Â
âIâm not very good at lying,â
ânot as good as youâ, you wanted to say.Â
He looked at you like he read your mind, luckily you couldnât see his expression. âDonât be impulsive, smile and never leave my side,â you felt he was giving you orders, âwhat 's going to happen at the political campaign depends partially on todayâs gala.â
âYou know, Mr. Snow,â you started âI tried reading your fiction-book but it was so,â you tried examining his face, âunrealistic,â he scoffed and looked the other way, âyou want me to paint you as the man you arenât and never will âcaring, affectionate and respectful âI canât do miracles, people wonât believe my lies forever.â
Coriolanus clenched his jaw, âat least the whole Panem doesnât hate me,â he said close to your face.
âYet,â you added, hoping to maintain eye contact one more second.Â
âAnd just a reminder,â he said, âwithout me you would have been at home, crying and begging for forgiveness,â he whispered in a bitter tone in your ear.
âAnd without me you wouldnât have the attention you crave so much,â you replied, feeling the tension in the air.Â
Coriolanus was too close to you, like an animal before hunting his prey, you could see his facial features reflecting the weak light outside. The engine stopped, and the driver opened the car door.
âMr. Snowâ he said and Coriolanus stepped out of the car, he didnât even look at you.Â
âHe would slam the door in my face if he couldâ, you thought.
You took the driverâs hand, helping you get out with your long dress. Coriolanus took his maroon coat off and he gave it to an avox at the entrance. You could see him from his back, he was wearing an ivory jacket and trousers, his suit matched your gown. He calculated every single detail. Unexpectedly, Coriolanus waited for you as you stood by him in the hall, he extended his arm and you looked at him.Â
âDo I have to?â You asked and you noticed a white rose on his breast pocket.Â
âItâs just an act,â he replied and you took him by the arm.Â
Let the play begin.Â
The ballroom was lit by magnificent chandeliers and the air was filled with whispers and laughter. The atmosphere was comforting and energetic: people with colorful wigs, glitter dresses and sugary drinks. There was not a face you could recognise, it was not what you were used to, even though you have been living in the Capitol for all your life, youâve never experienced a party like this. You walked through the crowd with Coriolanus by your side, arm by arm, while everybody was looking curiously at your direction. Youâve heard someone saying his name, and something about the girl he was walking with.Â
Why her? Since when does Snow have a girlfriend? Iâve heard really bad things about that woman.
And there it was, the gossip, the uncertain glances and how they looked down on you. On the other hand, people were praising him.Â
Heâs so charming! White suits him well! Future president of Panem.Â
You looked at Coriolanus, the warm light was making his eyes brighter, or was it the crowd? He looked at them so proudly, with a confident smile, he was living for that moment, being the center of attention. He met your gaze, then his blue eyes looked at your dress, but not the same way people did.Â
It felt different.Â
Was he judging?Â
Admiring maybe? It was a mystery, nothing was black or white with him.Â
Coriolanus greeted a couple of his acquaintances, introducing you as his partner, then calling you his date and it once slipped from his lips calling you his girlfriend. And you actually were, in that moment, you had to act as his beloved girlfriend who had a well known bad reputation. He never let your arm go away, he was acting so well, playing the caring boyfriend who couldnât leave you alone.Â
âHere they are, the couple of the night!â A loud voice came from behind, it was Flavius Windbuzz, one of the most famous tv hosts in the Capitol. His voice was recognisable from miles away, it didnât matter if you watched television or not, he was everywhere and it was impossible in Capitol City not knowing his name.Â
He stepped closer to you with a glowing smile and a glitter microphone, he had his hair gray, more like silver. âEverybody is talking about you, the new Capitol lovebirds,â a camera was pointing at you and your heartbeat was getting faster, everyone stopped talking and stared at you both. âSo tell me Mr. Snow, who is this young lady you are showing off?âÂ
âYou said it right Flavius, she is my girlfriend,â he did it again, Coriolanus said girlfriend, this time broadcast on tv.Â
âWhat a pleasure to meet you,â the host said to you, he took your hand and kissed it. These exaggerated gestures were the usual in this type of parties, especially where a silver-haired-man was interviewing the guests. He asked about your family, if you liked the food âyou didnât touch any but you lied, and who was the designer of your dress, everything as the script said.
âHoney, you are a really interesting woman but I have to ask you something,â Mr. Windbuzz said, âpeople are talking and it is my job to satisfy their desires. âSo tell me, are the rumors true?âÂ
You expected a much worse question, you stopped breathing for a moment and Coriolanus noticed that because you tightened the grip on his arm. âYou tell me Flavius, what do the rumors say?â You answered with a soft smile hiding your discomfort.
âI know that during the last edition of The Hunger Games, something really unfortunate happened,â you noticed he had purple contacts on, and that was something that made you even more nervous. âIs it true that you took part in the incident we all saw live on TV?â He asked and you felt like your heart was beating outside your chest.
âIt is true,â the crowd gasped, and your pulse increased.Â
âSo tell me, how did it feel when you killed those poor and innocent tributes?â The question was worded differently than what you read on that file.Â
Killed.Â
Poor and innocent.Â
You couldnât get out of your head their lifeless faces, the foam coming out of their mouths and the sound of the cannon echoing in that room. The hall started spinning, you saw the interviewerâs face, a mix of compassion and concern, as the crowd started whispering more and more you felt your head cold and heavy. The microphone was pointing in your direction but you could not even stutter a syllable, blank pages wandered in your mind and you felt a sense of emptiness. You felt a hand on your shoulder and you turned your dizzy head to see Coriolanus who started talking for you.
âShe was more than devastated, I rememberâ, â you saw his lips moving like the time had slowed down and you were not listening to his words, his voice echoed in your ears as you never took your eyes off of him.Â
His grip on your shoulder tightened and his eyes looked at you as he tilted his head suggesting you both could go away. You followed him even though your ears were still ringing and your sight blurring, Coriolanus was walking too fast so you took his hand in yours or you could really faint on the ground. At that action, he looked at you with a confused stare, his hand grip was firm and steady as he dragged you in the bathroom. After checking no one was in there, he leaned against the door so no one could step in. You stood in front of him, his curls falling on his forehead that was a little sweaty, then he began talking, but the sound of his words were just an intense ring in your ears. He placed both his hands on your cheeks trying to have your attention, and you woke up from your hypnotic state.
âThey are just hypocrites, they are the ones who watch The Hunger Games on tv, they send money to help their favorite to kill.â Coriolanus said looking in your eyes, and you started sobbing. âThey are not better than you, âstop crying and play their game.âÂ
You felt the warmth of his hands on your skin, he never touched you this way, it was intimate, nothing you could expect from him. For a moment, you brushed your hand with his but he instantly removed it, walking away from your sight.Â
âHe was too indiscreet,â you heard him whisper, âI shouldâve expected that from him.âÂ
âNo Coriolanus, I shouldâve expected this question,â your voice was still trembling, âyou said it wasnât going to be easy, I deserve this, âdo you still think this act is a good idea?â You asked him.Â
His tall figure leaned against the green tiles of the bathroom, he had his hands on his pockets and he was looking down, thinking about who knows what. Now that you were seeing from a distance, he resembled an angel. His white suit, his blonde curls and the perking blue eyes. No, there was nothing pure and heavenly in him. You thought he was probably thinking about how you ruined his plan, how he had to intervene to save your umpteenth failure and he was now calculating another strategy.Â
âNot an angel, a fallen angel, the next Lucifer of Panem.â
âThe night is still young,â he said while stepping to the door. He didnât answer your question, was he regretting meeting you?Â
Everything was as you left it. The party was still going and no one seemed to have noticed your panic attack. That was a relief. You tried distracting yourself, you couldnât stop thinking about what happened before. The interview, the crying, his hands on your face. Everything was worse than you had expected. You and Coriolanus were in the hallway next to the massive columns that supported the ceilings, on the other side people were dancing to a classical melody. You wanted to stay there, outside their sight, because to you the dance floor was more like an arena where people were going to attack you.Â
âShall we?â Coriolanus extended his hand suggesting to go dancing with him.Â
âIâm not good at dancing, I could step on your feet,â you hoped it wouldâve been enough for him to give up.Â
âIâll take the risk.â That was his plan, acting like nothing happened and putting his best smile on to be the charming man everyone adored.Â
You took his hand, the same hand that wiped your tears off your face was now intertwined in yours. Every time you looked for an excuse to not like him. As if you had to remind yourself that you hated him. Did you? He was dancing with you so naturally, holding you like you had known each other for a very long time, his hand on your waist as if he was used to it. There was nothing evil in him on the outside, and that was the problem.Â
âIâve just saved your face, thank me later.âÂ
You rolled your eyes at Coriolanusâ words. âIâm used to humiliations so next time donât bother yourself.â you replied.
âOh but Iâm not used to it and donât worry, there will be no next time.â Without a notice, he made you twirl around.
âWhen will this thing end?â You asked annoyed.
âI hate it as much as you,â he pushed your waist closer to him, this way you were face to face, noses touching.Â
âWhat the fuck Coriolâ,âÂ
He interrupted you, âfor the cameras.âÂ
You turned your head and you saw a bunch of flashes, blinding your sight. Coriolanus leaned over you and your lips were brushing, you couldnât push him away because of the photographers. You had no time to tell him something, that he kissed you. It was for a second, just one second where your lips touched. It was cold, dry and unexpected. Just like him. Snow by name, snow by nature. If only eyes could talk. Youâd probably say to him how you wished you werenât there, with him, and you wondered what his blue eyes would say to you, probably the same. After that moment, Coriolanus didnât say a word to you. You were there, smiling at photographers hoping to drop your mask as soon as theyâd left.Â
The rest of the night went according to plan. Flavius interviewed all the future candidates and Coriolanus had the opportunity to make his well prepared speech, he also got invitations from influential members close to the president Ravinstill, not to mention the many sponsor offers he had. At least something was going well, for him though. The ride back home was painful. You and Coriolanus were looking outside the window, his crimson coat was the only barrier separating your bodies.Â
âDid they ever tell you how bad you are at kissing,â you hated silence so much you could say the stupidest things that came to mind just not to hear your thoughts. You turned your head to see him and his eyes were already on you.Â
âMhm, girls usually compliment me for other qualities,â he chuckled, âand then that wasnât me kissing, remember itâs just for show,â he whispered looking at the driver hoping he wasnât paying attention.
âWell, no one believed your poor attempt to look in love,â you said and he untied the knot of his white tie.Â
âI was caught off guard,â he said looking at you, cars speeding in the window behind him, âand I canât just kiss how I would normally do.âÂ
You tried not to laugh at his words, âwhat would that even mean?â you thought. âJust try to convince them, because you didnât even convince me.âÂ
âHow should I kiss you then?â
He put his hand on the back of your head, with his thumb brushed your temple and he pulled you closer, his lips touching yours softly. You knew what was going to happen, but you let him do it.Â
The way he kissed you, like he was starving for your lips, hungry for your taste. Was he the same man that kissed you before? You melted in his touch, his hand slided down your neck, his fingers pressing on your throat, making you shiver even more. He tasted like mint and posca, his hair smelled of roses and his skin was warm under your touch.
Coriolanus pulled away from your lips but you came closer to cut the gap separating you. It felt like an instinct, like you were not satisfied enough and you could feel a sense of heat down your core. He pulled away the coat that was between you and his other hand was now on your exposed back, keeping you closer, his tongue still dancing dangerously with yours as you intertwined your fingers in his locks.
âCoryoâ you said between kisses.
He wasnât intending to stop and neither did you, but you remembered who was the man who was holding you that way, whose hands were making you shiver, whose lips were making you want for more and what nickname you just whined.Â
âI think we should,â you managed to say, trying to stop yourself from doing something you were going to regret. You broke the kiss, his lips were swollen still too close to yours.Â
He whispered, "I told you, I can be convincing when needed.â   Â
đŠ A/N: I hope you enjoyed this first chapter, let me know what you think in the comments! Iâll probably explain the details of the scandal and how they met next time, itâs way more than you can imagine from here. Also I KNOW there is no smut here, but bear with me, it's a slow burn and trust me in the next chapter Iâll add some âš spice âš. In this first chapter I wanted to set up the atmosphere.
A special thanks to Freddie Mercury and the song âPlay the gameâ that helped me when I was stuck, to the poet Taylor Swift who reminded me of the many ways you can say the color red. PLEASE let me know if you want to be tagged next time đÂ

Building on the last posting it would bother Snow to see formal academy!reader fall for Sejanus and the two get into a relationship. Especially if this is after Snow tries(key word tries) to implement Tigris' suggestions about him being nicer to you. Like in Coriolanus' werid and convulsed mind and lack of morals. He thinks because he puts forth the effort to "change" then reader should be willing to submit or accept his advances. Not him realizing that just because you make forth the effort to change doesn't mean that person is obligated to accept you or your requests. Not to mention he still got that capital pride that makes him think that Reader should be more than happy to enter into a relationship with him. He's a Snow after all... even though they're broke and the only currency he has is the family name and his charisma. So it isn't money that's makes you better than the districts but the name/prestige that comes with the money. Not to mention the value of the name itself and not just monetary.
Like just because the Pliths are rich most of the Capitol including Coriolanus still sees them as district. I think because of this mindset it challenges/bothers Snow when reader isn't interested in him beyond the surface. And like you said before she sees something in him and stays away. It's like Coriolanus doesn't understand that there's more to a person than status or wealth. Or that genuine relationships and/or emotion can occur without any underlying agendas
Ps. Sorry this was so long
donât apologize this was so insightful n wonderful < 3
Yeah, after some thinking, Coriolanus would decide to take Tigris' advice and be nicer to you. He only approaches you when you don't seem busy, he'll offer to hold your books or bag to class, he asks about how you are, etc, but you feel like you've already learned what he's all about so this gesture, while somewhat genuine, only comes across as fake, like he's trying to get something (which he is).
And when he learns you and Sej had gone on a date and then sees the two of you holding hands, he's literally foaming at the mouth over it.
Yes, I agree, he's like thinking about how he tried to change his approach and you still ignored all of his advances and to him, that's just not fair. He thinks he deserves more than that. Coriolanus would resort back to his more hateful way of thinking so fast because he's impatient and you just won't let up. He can't crack you and it drives him completely insane.
And yes! He also tells himself that you'd be unhappy with Sejanus, that only if you saw he was trying to be nicer and better, you'd realize he's the right one for you to marry. Then he'd snap out of these thoughts by reminding himself that you're district. It's like a constant battle in his head; Coryo is thinking, 'I'm so in love with her,' then 'she's district, I hate her being here.'
Plus he'd be trying to understand why you ignore him. Part of him is aware of your intelligence, but part of him think so poorly of you, he's like she can't be smart enough to see through me. But you do.
And I agree, I've mentioned this before, but he would always be thinking you're just interested in Sejanus cause of his money and family and for that sole reason, he doesn't understand why you wouldn't be interested in him. Despite his lack of money, the Snow name is still powerful and isn't that enough to lure you in his direction? And like you said, he just can't comprehend that there could be just genuine feelings and desire in the capitol beyond wealth and status.
let's chat about coryo, sej, or both, here :)

hi! i was wondering if you could do a corio x plinth reader where he aproches her bc she is a plinth (and she notices and gets mad bc she think that corio takes her for a stupid girl who would just fall for his lies) but he slowly falls for her. i would really like if it ends well, like them together. i hope you understood my idea, i love your work btw.
đđđđ đđ đąđ§ đđĄđ đđđ„đ đđšđšđ§đ„đąđ đĄđ
coriolanus snow x fem!plinth!reader
summary - basically what the request says, but there is no happy ending because i'm evil.
contains - angst, the capital being described as beautiful, gold-digging, rude coriolanus, not beta read
author's note - i'm so sorry @simpovereveryone for the unhappy ending, but i feel like once someone finds out you originally wanted to date them for their money there is no coming back. originally, this was going to be a happy ending, but I just couldn't write one that felt natural and real. if you want, I can do a happy Coriolanus later, but there is no happy ending in this one.
IT was no secret that Strabo Plinthâs daughter was in love. It was the only thing people would talk about at the Academy. In between each Hunger Games, Capitol citizens were bored. Gossip would spread like a wildfire. They didnât know how to keep a secret.Â
Coriolanus knew that you liked him. It was obvious to anyone that had two working eyes. The way that your eyes would follow him wherever he went, and how your back would straighten every time he walked by was evidence enough that you had a crush on the blonde boy.Â
Coriolanus was flattered, really, but he just wasnât one to date. Many girls have tried and failed at dating him. None piqued his interest. He found that most pretty Capiol girls were dumb and had no interest beyond their physical appearance. They also lacked what he needed most, money.Â
Coriolanus wanted to continue his education at the University after the Academy. He needed to keep a roof over his, Tigris, and Grandmaâams head, or he would have failed as a cousin and a grandson. Those necessities donât come cheap after a war, no matter how long ago the war was.Â
And then he heard the news. Some new students were chatting during lunch. His name and yours got thrown around, and after some intense staring at his apple, he heard what they were talking about. Your little schoolgirl crush on Coriolanus, and that was confirmation enough.Â
Then there you were, sitting in all your glory.Â
Being the one and only daughter in the Plinth family made you susceptible to fake people. Always after your money and status, but they will talk about you behind your back. Coriolanus has heard it all. He needed to outsmart the many and study the few that made it to your inner circle. Just because you already had a crush on him meant nothing if he didnât have a good enough reason to chase after you.Â
Your red school uniform mixed in with the rest of the crowd, but your face was what drew him in. It was so different, unconventional, and beautiful. The unconventionality of your face made him want to paint a picture of you from memory. You were unique, which he liked. This wonât be too bad, Coriolanus said in his head.Â
Your tired eyes met his and he didnât look away. The bags under your eyes accentuated the fact that you couldnât sleep last night. The thunder crashing outside of your window was probable cause to keep you awake.Â
Coriolanus got up from his chair and stocked towards you. His stride was purposeful, guiding through clumps of students gathered around the room. He sat across from you and said nothing as he studied your tired expression. It was weird that your brother's friend and your crush were sitting across from you all of a sudden. You were in no way ready to talk to him right now.Â
âDid you want me to tell Sejanus something?â was all you could manage to ask. Your brain was begging you to ask more. Why are you here? How is your family? Do you think Iâm crazy for liking you, even though weâve never had an actual conversation? But your mouth stayed shut, which saved you from a boatload of embarrassment.Â
Coriolanus smiled. His teeth were imperfectly imperfect. A natural color, not too white, but not too yellow. His right front tooth was slightly crooked, giving his teeth personality.Â
âNo, I came here to talk to you.â
Your brows furrowed for a second. Why in the world would he want to talk to me? Besides being the sister of his friend, you had nothing going on for yourself. There were far prettier girls that he could talk to. You werenât all that traversed in philosophy and classic books like he was. You were justâŠyou.Â
Your lips pressed together in a small line and then returned to normal after a second. You couldnât form coherent words right now. You nodded your head at the boy in front of you and looked across the room, not ready to make eye contact with him at the present moment. Students talked and whispered with each other as they took in the scene. Coriolanus Snow talking to the girl that had a crush on him. Many girls who had tried to date him in the past narrowed their eyes at you.Â
You had not noticed that the room was almost silent, save for the whispers of the nosey students. Coriolanus kept repeating your name, trying to break you out of your trance. You liked the way your name rolled off his tongue. An unlimited amount of syllables were repeated over and over again in his baritenor voice.Â
âWhat?â you ask as you are broken out of your trance.Â
âDo you want to go on a date with me?â he answered your question with another.Â
This seemed too good to be true. The boy youâve had a crush on for years had just asked you out for seemingly no reason. Either whatever higher power in the sky was on your side, or this was one huge prank. Either way, you agreed.Â
Ë àŁȘ . đŠą àż âĄ Ë .
You stood in front of the full-length mirror in the corner of your room. The baby pink silk slip dress you were wearing used to belong to your mother. She had given it to you two years ago in hopes that you would wear it. She hoped that you would wear it on a date with a nice boy. Thatâs exactly what you were doing, but there were two problems. The first problem was that you were nothing like your brother, outgoing and outspoken. You preferred to keep to yourself, and if you had to socialize, you would do it with the handful of friends you had. The second problem was that it was two years later. The dress no longer draped beautifully around you like it did when you were younger. It clung to every curve, crevice, and roll you had on your body. You were lucky that the dress still zipped up. You studied yourself in the mirror, going from the tip top of your head down to your painted toenails. At least it looked like you had enough money to be well-fed and groomed.Â
Coriolanus was taking you to a new rooftop restaurant. The women in your mother's book club raved on and on about how elegant and regal the vibes in that restaurant felt. They also recounted how hard it is to get a reservation. For a new restaurant, it seemed pretty picky with its patrons.Â
He picked you up around six. The sun had already set and a chill breeze kissed your skin, causing goosebumps to rise on the bare skin of your arms. Coriolanus kept you close to him, placing a strong hand on the small of your back. His hand was cold, causing you to shiver.Â
The reviews were right. The restaurant was beautiful. The entire place was lit using nothing but candles. They lined the tables with pristine white cloth. There were other details of the restaurant that were otherworldly, but the view of the Capital made you swoon. With Coriolanus long forgotten, your eyes lit up at all the lights and such that outlined every building and street. You had forgotten how beautiful the Capital was at night. Your heart panged with gratefulness at being able to experience this even though you werenât born here.Â
Coriolanus studied you once again. The city lights flashed and shone across your body, accentuating the way your skin looked. It looked soft, almost perfect. Nothing was ever perfect.Â
âSo, Sejanus told me you like to paint,â Coriolanus commented, breaking the silence between the two of you.Â
Your eyes broke away from the shining lights and back to the companion in front of you. âYes,â you simply said.Â
The simplicity of your words made Coriolanus fix his hand into a fist under the table. He was doing you a favor! You were the one who had a crush on him, not the other way around. He couldnât say anything, though. He had to remind himself why he was doing this. Flashes of images passed through his mind. They all had one thing in common; they were dear to him - the only things he loved. That was the reason why he was here. He needed the money that was attached to you.Â
âWhat do you like to paint?â The food that he ordered for the two of you was being placed down on the table. He ordered steak and potatoes with a side of steamed vegetables.
You are a vegetarian.Â
Everyone knew you were vegetarian. You loved animals and couldnât fathom eating a living animal. You didnât judge people who ate meat. Everyone was free to live the lifestyle they wanted and you choose to live a meatless lifestyle.
âWhy did you ask me out on a date?â you questioned the boy in front of you who was currently eating his food like a starved man. Which he was. He barely had enough money to pay rent, let alone pay for this mealâŠ
Thatâs why he asked you on a date - for your money. Youâve lived your entire life having to question whether or not someone wanted to be your friend. Your last name followed you everywhere you went. There was nothing shameful about your family, but you hated having fake people around you. It was literal hell.Â
Of course, Coriolanus didnât like you. He just needed your money. You scoffed at him and didnât even let him finish as you sprinted out of the restaurant, leaving him confused and with no way to pay.Â
Itâs safe to say that Coriolanus is never welcomed back.Â

Part One.
âCoryo?â She mumbled against his skin, eyes straining upwards towards the young man's face from her position on his chest, chin pressed to his bare chest as sleep evaded them both.Â
âHmmmmâ he mumbled back, hands wrapped around her waist as he enjoyed the comfort of her skin against his.Â
âI know I ask this a lot, but tomorrow, once you win the plinth prize, nothing changes between us right?â Her begs for reassurance were something Coriolanus enjoyed. They made him feel wanted. Reminded him that she wanted to be with him, not just forced to be.Â
âNothing will ever change this (Y/N). What we have is special, I wouldn't give you up for all the money in the capital.â He kissed her forehead, blue eyes staring down at her sweet face.
(Y/N) Cearo. His childhood sweetheart. His best friend. She was the fuel to his fire. He couldn't imagine a life away from her, let alone a world where they weren't attached at the hip. Through the Dark Times, Through the Academy. He had been graced with her presence throughout his life.Â
âNot ever for all the chocolate in the capital?â She raised a brow up at him, a smirk evident on her face. She squished her cheek back into his chest, he smiled at the warmth of her skin.Â
âNever, but don't tell Grandmaâam that. She'll be disappointed.â The fake gasp that left her made Coriolanus chuckle.Â
âYou don't think Grandmaâam would miss me?â She looked up at him again. Big doe eyes holding a false look of offense only she could muster. He chuckled at her again.Â
âI dare say she wouldn't even miss me if someone promised her that much chocolate.â They both laughed now, bed shaking slightly with their shared moment.Â
âWell hopefully we won't have to find out since you've practically already won. Just have to decide what you'll buy first.â She chuckled again, settling back down into his arms.Â
âI'll probably buy Tirgis a new dress, Grandmaâam a box of chocolates, obviously, maybe some new shoes finally.â Perhaps a ring for you. He wanted to say. Coriolauns craved nothing more than making her his in every way possible. He craved the idea of their marriage, promising herself to him for all eternity. His very own first lady of Panem.Â
âAll very fine choices, Coryo. Of course how could I ever doubt youâd not have it all planned out already.â and boy did he have it all planned out. The Plinth Prize was far more than enough to cover his University tuition and make a few frivolous purchases. Maybe not the ring heâd wish to buy her truly but one pretty enough itâd make their peers envious. He could replace it with something more fitting in time. Not that that would matter to her in any way, she was always the sentimental type. The torn up photo of them as children in her mirror compact to prove so.Â
âCoryo?â He hummed back in response. Blue eyes now closed as he tried to prepare for the morning to come. âYou know I love you, right?â Her voice was hushed, another question asked for reassurance, which he loved.Â
âOf course I do. Why?â He knew her answer. She said it every time he asked.Â
âBecause I do.â She said it so plainly. So simply. He loved it.Â
âWell get some sleep then lover, we have the reaping tomorrow.â He heard her grunt, knowing the sleep was already taking her out. Tomorrow was to be the start of the rest of his life. Heâd have the Plinth Prize. The Girl. The Name. All of it.Â
âGoodnight darling.â
______________________________________________
By the time he woke up the next morning (Y/N) was long gone. She normally woke up before him to run home and get ready for the day. Heâd meet her at her door to walk to school together.Â
Coriolanus got up and got ready for his day. Cold shower. No breakfast. Lost shirt. The works. Thankfully Tirgis had come through for him and fixed up one of his fathers old shirts for the day. His Grandmaâam even gave him two red roses for him and (Y/N). Today was one of the rare days he and his fellow students were not to wear their uniforms at the school, for the reaping, though it only made him worry more for his appearance. Nonetheless, Snow always lands on top, he would remind himself as he walked to (Y/N)âs Familyâs Home.Â
(Y/N) and her family lived in a fair sized home. Two streets down from Sejauns and his family and 4 blocks from him. They lived in a fairly large townhome. (Y/N) and her brother practically have their own floors for their bedrooms. William Cearo, (Y/N)âs younger brother. He was only 12 and he considered Coriolanus his âbest friendâ whenever he went to visit their family home. She was a good match come time Coriolanus became president. Upstanding student, wealthy family, all he could ask for in a partner. Along with the added benefit she had been one of his only friends his entire life.Â
As he approached the house out came (Y/N). Deep plum coat, black dress, one she had already had him approve of two nights before, and black heels. All accompanied by the large black leather bag with her initials imprinted on the front that she took everywhere. Her hair was up in a twist on the back of her neck. Pity, he didn't do enough damage last night to keep it down, or at the very least show off what all their peers already knew. She practically skipped down the stairs to him, crashing into his arms and sealing their greeting with a kiss he knew her father would disagree upon.Â
âHi Coryoâ She smiled as she looked him in his eyes. Her soft gaze made his heart swell. âI brought you a gift!â She exclaimed. Letting go of him to dig through her bag, pulling out a neatly wrapped parchment bundle. âTwo blackberry and cream scones. I know they're your favorite and youâll need something to keep your stomach calm for the reaping.â She held them out to her. Big eyes and even bigger smiles. Heâd die without her, he swore it.Â
âWell it just so happens I brought you a gift as well.â He held out the rose hearing her gasp of approval. âTechnically it's from Grandmaâam but as Iâve delivered it I am including myself.â He stepped up to her, pinning the rose neatly to her coat lapel.Â
Another sign she's all mine. His inner thoughts stirred with delight.Â
âItâs beautiful. I will have to thank Grandmaâam for it when I see her next.â She handed him off the scones, neck craned to look down at the rose. âWe better start walking before we are late to the reaping. Or at least before Willby sees you out the window.â She looked at the watch he hadn't even noticed she was wearing.Â
âWeâre gonna be a half hour early if we start now darling, you know this.â He protested, yet fell into step with her while unwrapping his treat. Heâd never admit that without her spoiles heâd starve to death in class. She always brought him whatever treat her chefs had come up with that morning. Though scones were his favorite. He broke off a bite as she linked her arm through his for their journey. As they walked he got about half way through the second scone when she abruptly held a small glass water bottle to his mouth.Â
âThey're dry.â Was all she muttered as he took a small sip from her water.Â
âYouâre going to be a fantastic motherâ Coriolanus chuckled as they continued to walk. Eyes watching her as she shoved the bottle back in her bag.Â
âHopefully one day. I always loved the idea of a big family. After university, obviously. Stay at home mom, Iâd like at least two.â She looked up at him, judging his reaction he assumed. Coriolanus pretended to think for a moment.Â
âI can work with two. Iâd need at least one boy though, carry on the name obviously.â It was his turn now to judge her reaction. She chuckled.Â
âWell I canât control the gender. Although Iâd like girls. I think youd be a fantastic Girl dad.â His smile brightened ten fold.Â
âSo you do.â He stated, practically stopping their stroll.Â
âDo what Coryo?â She stopped with him. Arms still interlinked, both too caught up in each other's eyes. They were only about 100 or so steps from the school now. Coryo tookÂ
âSo you do want to have kids with me.â He knew the answer. They had talked about all of this before. Kids. Marriage. His strives for the presidency.Â
âObviously.â There it was again. The simplicity of her words. âAfter University and once youâve married me, obviously. Then while you become president we can announce our first pregnancy, which will not only cause joy for the people of Panem, as everyone loves a good love story, it will also show the county you also have something to fight for as their president.â Ah yes, her plan. She was brilliant. She had plans to major in Public Image and Relations in University. Not a popular choice in their peer group but he had to hand it to her, one she would excel in prominently.Â
âOh so you wanna have kids with me for Panem and its citizens?â He watched her eyes roll as she turned to drag him towards the school doors.Â
âOh obviously Coriolanus, I only want to have your babies for Panem Mr. President.â They both laughed to themselves as they walked through the doors, arms interlocked. Mr. President, he liked that.Â
âSnow. Cearo.â Clemensia smiles as she approaches the two. Coriolanus opens his other arm to the dark haired girl.Â
âGood Morning, Clems.â (Y/N)âs tone is still cheerful but Coriolanus can hear the anxiety start to take over as the reaping nears. (Y/N) hates the games, he knows this. She understands the games keep people in line though.Â
âGood morning, (Y/N). How is your brother?â Clemensia was terrible at small talk. Her voice made Coriolanus cringe. She sounded venomous even when he knew she was just trying to be considerate.Â
âHe is good. He just got a new train set so he was up all night blasting its horn.â
They walked into the main auditorium and (Y/N) immediately dropped his arm to give Sejaunus a hug as he approached the group. Coriolanus had to hold back a scoff as she did so.Was it hypocritical of him to be jealous as he still had his arm linked with Clemensia? Probably, though he did consider Sejanus a friend but no friend was good enough to touch his girl.Â
âGood morning (Y/N/N) You look stunning today as usual.. Good Morning Coriolanus. Clemensia.â Sejanus greeted as (Y/N) wrapped herself back into Coriolanusâs arm. He felt better back with her by his side. He nodded back to Sejanus in greeting.Â
âSpill it, Sejanus!â Arachneâs prissy voice rang towards them. Another voice Coriolanus couldn't stand. In fact he couldn't stand most of the women in his peer groupâs voices.Â
Sejanus shook his head as he scoffed.Â
âOh, no, Iâm not going to ruin my fatherâs big day. No one here actually likes him but they do love his money⊠you know what thatâs like, donât you, Arachne?â Coriolanus felt the shakes of (Y/N)âs shoulder as she silently snickered along with Sejanusâs comment.Â
Arachne rolled her eyes and ran off to find someone else to bother. As Clemensia walked off to find her seat Sejanus looked at you both.Â
âLook, I know you have had high hopes for this Coriolanus but⊠thereâs no prize. Not anymore.âÂ
He couldn't tell if you both had the same visual reaction but he could feel his own eyes widen and feel your grip on his arm tighten, head lifting off his shoulder. He stood there searching Sejanusâ expression for any signs of mockery. He looked down at you, hoping maybe you were in on this sick joke. But your expression held fear as you stared at Sejanus.Â
âWhat?â he asked, words dark and airy, looking almost angry. (Y/N)âs grip on his arm tightened ever more. He was thankful for it. She grounded him.Â
âIâm so sorryââ
Before Sejanus could finish his sentence, the trumpets announcing the reaping blared throughout the hall and all the students made their way to their seats. Coriolanus, as much as he didnt want to, slipped away from you letting you sit first before taking the seat to your right. Sejanus sat at (Y/N) 's left, eyes full of pity. Clemensia sat next to him on his right. All turning their attention to Dr. Gaul.Â
Her speech falls upon Coriolanusâ deaf ears. All his plans were ruined within seconds. No Plinth Prize means no University. No means to provide for his family. No Presidency. God forbid no (Y/N). His thoughts eat at him. No Money. No Power. No Glory. His own fear of failure devours him. He felt (Y/N)âs hand slide across his lap, the movement breaking him from his thoughts. Looking down only momentarily to see it,hands interlocked she pulls his hand to her lap where she cradles it. Rubbing her thumb soothingly along the skin. He knows she can practically hear his thoughts. His grip tightens in hers.Â
Dr. Gaul introduces Dean Highbottom, an old friend of his dad, inventor of the games.Â
âI canât believe they still allow him to speak in public,â Clemensia said to Coriolanusâ right.Â
Dean was a known substance abuser and an all over terrible person in most everyone's eyes. What his dad saw in him as a friend Coriolanus would never understand. Though what could he say when one of his best friends was District afterall.Â
âMy own twenty-four top prospects. All waiting to hear the results of your hard studying in this prestigious institution, eager to know whoâs won that Plinth prize, no doubt. And a golden future, with it.However⊠Iâm here to tell you all that thereâs been a change this year.â
(Y/N) squeezed Coriolanusâ hand back as he tensed.Â
âOne last assignment to prove your worth,â Highbottom announced, a grim look on his face. Coriolanus did his best not to shift in his chair. âThe esteemed citizens of the Capitol simply arenât watching anymore. And if the games are to continue at all, there must be an audience, no?â Professor Highbottom smirked, Coriolanus watched him turn, looking over to him and his friends.Â
âHead gamemaker Dr. Gaul has stepped in to⊠incentivize patriotic values with her own unique flair, starting with you. The Plinth prize will no longer be determined by who has the best grades.âÂ
Coriolanus sucked in a breath. Heart pounding.Â
âInstead, it will be decided by who is the best mentor in the hunger games. As the reaping begins, I will allocate each one of the top twenty-four Capitol students a district tribute. A figure behind the scenesâone who must persuade them to perform for the cameras.â
He heard (Y/N) gasp. Archance let out a scoff. Sejanusâ face morphed into one of disgust. Visceral reactions from the crowd.Â
âYour role is to turn these children into spectacles. Not survivors⊠victory in the games is only one of the considerations. Your entire future rests on this last project.â Highbottom continued.Â
Corilanus zoned out again as Archane complained of her chances of getting an unworthy pick. He was fucked. This was God's sick way of tormenting him. He sat near frozen, eyes still staring up at the podium.Â
âOh, and I must warn you⊠anyone caught cheating to give their tributes an unfair advantage⊠Well, theyâd just have no future at all.â Highbottom looked dead at him this time. He knew that his professor never favored him, but at this rate Coriolanus was starting to take it personally. The professor clapped once.Â
âHere we go! Let the reaping ceremony begin.â Highbottom sat between Coriolanus and Clemensiaâs feet on the bleachers. He started calling off the names after each victor was announced. (Y/N) was shaking slightly. She had started picking at the skin around her fingers, a nervous trait he had seen her do many times, normally he would take the time to stop her but at the rate he was about to join her in picking his own.Â
âSejanus Plinth, the male tribute from district two.â He saw his friend's eyes darken. (Y/N)âs shocked face turning to face their friend. âYou got the pick of the litter.â Archaneâs voice snickered. Behind the group.Â
âYou forget. I'm part of the litter.â Sejanusâ voice held anger. Coriolanus felt bad for him at that moment. He probably knew that boy. Coriolanus saw (Y/N)âs hand move to comfort Sejanus, soothingly rubbing his arm lightly. Sejanus reached up and held his hand over hers to stop her movement, Coriolanus could see it shaking as he rested it over hers. In that moment Coriolanus couldn't find it in himself to be jealous of interaction.
The reaping continued. Female from 3. Male from 3. Female from 4. Male from 4. And so on till the Female from 8, a tiny girl no older than 12, Wovey.Â
âFemale Tribute from Eight. (Y/N) Cearo.â He heard her gasp. Saw tears well in her eyes. Sejanus gasped. The two locking eyes across the girl.Â
âShe's no older than Wilby, CoryoâŠâ Her whisper to him broke his heart. William meant the world to her and if she has already correlated Wovey with him sheâs going to have a terrible time mentoring the sweet looking young girl.Â
They sat in silence the rest of the reaping. His name is not yet being called. Sejanus shifting uncomfortably in his seat. (Y/N) picking at her fingers till they undoubtedly will bleed.Â
Male from 10, Female from 10. Male from 11, Female from 11. Male from 12, Female from 12âŠÂ
Lucy Grey Baird.Â
She was beautiful. Even Coriolanus could deny that. Her dress was covered in colors and her corset decorated in flowers. He had never seen an outfit quite like it before.
âAnd the runt girl from twelve goes to Coriolanus Snow.â Highbottom announced, even though him and everyone in the room already knew that from the fact he was the last unassigned mentor in the group.Â
âWhat is that dress? Is she some sort of clown?â Coriolanus rolled his eyes at Archanes unnecessary comments.Â
Suddenly on her way from the stage the girl stopped and seemed to have shoved something down another girls dress. The victims screams echoing through the speakers as she rolled in the ground. A snake slithering out from under her dress.Â
The girl reached the stage and the mayor slapped her across the face. Coriolanus abruptly stood. Startling (Y/N) and their friends in the process. Then the signing started. First a small girl in the back. Then herâŠÂ
âShe's singing? Is she out of her mind?â Archane scoffed again.Â
âYou really must learn when to shut up, Archane.â (Y/N)âs voice spat back at the girl. If Coriolanus wasn't so caught up in his tributeâs performance he would have snickered or at least kissed his girlfriend on the cheek for the snide comment but in this moment he was completely mesmerized by the girl on the screen. Her voice was beautiful, nothing like his Grandmaâams horrible morning renditions of the national anthem. Not like the soft and sweet voice of (Y/N) he would hear as she rocked William to sleep as a baby. No, it was something special. She was something special. As Lucy Grey brought her signing to an end her scream rattled through the speakers of the program.Â
âYOU CAN KISS MY ASS.â As she bowed with a smile all Coriolanus could think of is how beautiful she looked. She was his ticket to the prize, and she had the perfect potential. He just had to get his songbird to sing again.
