18. Circus AU and 53. Mutual Pining

God, implying that these two arn’t clowns already?

Hmmmmm okay, so my brain is now going in about 13 different ways these two could be in the circus tropes, act x act; ringmaster x act; wealthy patron? Sky’s the limit (or well the big top is) not to mention the kinds of acts a circus might have!

But let’s focus on the mutual part: the core of this trope focuses on two people really liking each other that way and can’t get to together for some reason so will deny themselves the action or don’t know for whatever reason that they like each other.

Hmmmmm okay, so I’m also going to inverse some of Rene/Cooper’s normal social classes, annnnnd HECK Kira is alive AU, oooh we can keep it DE themed and have it set as a Suzerainty Age AU too…

Cooper Anyavitch is a person of means, the heir to their late family’s fortune and title, and raising their younger sister Kira in the hight of the Filip the III reigns. After their mother passes and their father disappears into the middle of the night— Cooper decides to take a more permanent address at the town house in Revachol to take more active control of the family businesses, and to make sure Kira was raised with the best opportunities.

Rene Dubois is the new Ringmaster of the Dubois and Son’s Circus, (a name that his younger sister finds objectionable, but the circus was named that before she came along thank you) as his father steps down to take more of a backseat operations. The problem being that now that Rene is in the front of things he realized that the Circus was failing and needing of a benefactor.

Kira Anyavitch is almost 10 and has some opinions about her siblings marriage prospects. And of giraffes. These two hyper-fixations were not unconnected, although she’s been been excited to see the giraffes since she heard she was coming to Revachol.

Set across backdrop of brewing political tensions are turning sharp as communist rhetoric has started to proliferate the working class…

There is nothing quite like walking up to a role play friend and going: “can I tell you the story of when my character was irrevocably in love with yours and made the choice to stay away for his own good and not theirs?”
