I was playing some Noita and remembered that dungeons (The video gamey kind) canonically exist in CRK. Say Y/N Cookie is a student of Parfaedia Academy, they really like trying to make their own spells. Y/N Cookie is very creative, perhaps a bit too creative for their own good. Y/N Cookie's spells vary in quality across a wide margin with some just straight up backfiring in their face. After some very memorable and very spectacular accidents Y/N Cookie receives a brief suspension. Does this deter Y/N Cookie from continuing spellcraft? No! They look back on the events of the Triple Cone Cup. For the third event the champions journeyed through a dungeon labyrinth, surely more of its kind must exist right? Y/N Cookie does some exploring and finds another mysterious labyrinth, perfect for testing out new spells! So Y/N Cookie starts dungeon delving into this new labyrinth of mysteries to use the spells they've concocted against what might dwell below. Of course, Y/N Cookie being Y/N Cookie, their fellow parfaedians eventually discover both their whereabouts as wells as what they've been up to. How would Y/N Cookie's fellow Parfaedians react to finding them dungeon delving all alone, with these new spells of theirs, no matter how hurt they might be? Almond Cookie is first on the scene to stop you on your use of unsorted and odd magic here. Don’t you know how dangerous it is to handle this kind of magic, even in a closed and empty environment like this? He’ll ask you to lower your staff, he really doesn’t want to have to use force on you.

Latte Cookie is soft, yet still stern with her speech towards you. First, she makes sure you’re okay and you have no injuries on you. Next, she gives you a talking to about using these vast amount of spells without supervision. She was more worried about you being hurt than breaking the rules.

Seriously? Your professor, Espresso Cookie, reminded you on why you were given your suspension and it was for things like this. He can admire your energy to make all sorts of spells with your imagination, but the spells catalogued in your book should he the preferred ones, undocumented spells are too risky to practice.

The three ask you to follow them back to the academy grounds. They’ll talk more back in the classroom where they’ll decide on how they’ll reprimand you.

You clutch your staff, your grip shaking a little.

You didn’t regret practicing your magic like this, but boy were the incoming consequences not sounding good either…

🎃 The Halloween Spectacular 🎃

Shadow Milk LOVES Halloween, especially if the weather is gloomy and spooky, as it gives more chances for a scare!

This Halloween, he'll dress up as a burglar or a thief! He has a money sack that he'll use to collect and "steal" candy.

If you have candy with you, he'll pretend to stick you up to take the candy you don't like.

His "hush money" after this is just giving you the candy he has that he knows you do like.

At the end of the night, Shadow Milk would cover you in kisses, saying how he's glad he could steal you away.

Butter Roll pretends not to be a fan of Halloween, but he's so bad at pretending. Everyone knows he adores Halloween.

You'd think he'll go as a mad scientist, but nope! He'll be dressed as a judge, and he says it's a Vocaloid reference? Whatever that means...

He'll give trick-or-treaters different things than candy. Last year he gave them cooked pieces of jelly.

Butter Roll would invite you over after all of the festivities just so you two can have some alone time.

He'll cuddle you so close and watch Halloween movies with you, all while thanking you for such a great night.

Almond has mixed feelings on Halloween, but you seem to enjoy it, so why shouldn't he?

He doesn't know what to wear for Halloween, so he simply dresses as a police officer.

He'll take Walnut out for trick or treat and tries to hide a smile every time she gets a full-sized candy bar.

When you two are alone, he'll make sure to "arrest" you for the night.

You two would give each other so much love and attention for the rest of the night, neither of you will get much sleep.

Shining Glitter doesn't like Halloween since she's usually so busy, but this year, she's completely free to spend time with you!

She'll be dressed as the infamous Wide-Mouthed Cookie, with the woman who covers her cracked-open mouth.

She'd love to go to a few parties with you and dance to music with you!

Even though she knows she'll be busy again tomorrow, she's happy to be cuddled up with you tonight after so much fun.

Ananas Dragon is fascinated by the idea of Halloween, although doesn't usually partake in such activities.

Although they wanted to go as themselves, you convinced them to dress as a jungle dragon, being covered in decorative vines, flowers, and wooden pieces.

They're learning trick or treat traditions, including how not to demand candy or else.

Still protective of you, keeping you close throughout the night to make sure everyone knows who their favorite piece of candy is.

Back in their den, they do thank you for such a wonderful night, although makes you swear to not tell another cookie that they're thanking you. Once you do though, they give you a kiss and bring you to cuddle with them with your "horde" of candy.

Imagine MC is already in a relationship with Almond, and Walnut's 2nd parent. They work in a typical office, constantly being berated by their higher-ups. Since they're so sick of their work environment, they lit the whole office building on fire. Resulting in mass murder and lots of injuries.

Almond of course is right on the case when he hears his spouse being held accountable for mass murder and arson, he's quick to find any evidence that can prove MC isn't the culprit.

He will also manipulate Walnut into trying to find the person who framed her parent, which will further make things go hell in court.

"Don't worry. We'll get you out of there and back at home soon, sugar."

Pomegranate is gonna be so proud. She's surprisingly praising them quietly while also pecking their cheek a couple of times. That is until the police somehow tie them up and drive away with them.

She is furious and will use her magic to control some beastly entity to rescue them and take them back home. She doesn't give a single fuck about morals and the law.

Back at home, she'll be quiet, but she's very soft; cuddling up to you and won't let you get away. She just loves it when you go berserk. It's very attractive to her.

he tries to intellectualize it, of course. he analyzes every interaction, every fleeting glance, like it’s a formula waiting to be solved. but when you smile at him, that confident exterior of his crumbles faster than a poorly baked biscotti. “you’re being ridiculous,” he mutters to himself one night, staring at his notes. but instead of equations, all he’s written is your name in the margins.

Madeline —

madeleine cookie is a romantic through and through, and being in love simply adds to his already dramatic attitude. he is the sort to express his emotions in large, sweeping sentences, his voice ringing like a bell. "you are the light that illuminates my road!" he will say, his eyes full of love. (how corny... hes hopeless) however, despite the theatrics, madeleine's love is genuine. he is very attentive, seeing details about you that others might overlook. if you are down, he will go out of his way to make you feel better, even if it means embarrassing himself.

one afternoon, while the two of you sit under a tree, he gives you a flower crown he fashioned himself. "it is not ideal," he says, his typical confidence replaced by a rare vulnerability. he states that he's your "knight and shining armor." how precious!!

Almond —

almond cookie doesn’t know how to deal with feelings outside of his detective work. love isn’t something he’s ever had to investigate, so when he realizes he’s in love with you, it throws him off balance. he tries to rationalize it, telling himself it’s just a passing thought or a distraction he doesn’t need. but the truth is, you’ve taken up permanent residence in his mind.

he doesn’t go for grand gestures; instead, his love comes through in the small, practical ways he cares for you. he’ll make sure you’re safe, double-checking locks or walking you home without asking. his words are gruff, but his actions speak louder. one evening, as you sit together in his office, the warm light of the desk lamp casting shadows across his face, he looks at you with an uncharacteristic softness. “you’re important to me,” he mutters, almost too quiet to hear. for almond cookie, that’s as close to a confession as it gets. opening: You’re both working late at Almond’s house in an attempt to solve a case. You start to get tired and take a little snooze at the table before he notices. 

AN// G/N reader. I started writing this almost a year ago and forgot to finish it, but aye. I’m finishing up a lot of unfinished works/ideas/requests atm anyway, so might as well put this out :”D Anyway, this yet again is a human au, everything is the same but they’re humans. Haven't written for crk in so long, hope this came out okay !

 “All in a night’s work.”

Straight when both of your shifts had ended you’d had the same thought. There had been one case nagging the both of you for a little, and brainstorming it together seemed like a good idea. So, while gathering your things from your tables, you’d asked Almond if he was up for it. Sure, he usually looked like death was upon him for how little he usually slept and how rarely he took breaks, but you knew he was always up to solve a case. And you had been right, he was up for it. 

You’d seated yourself in his kitchen, watching Almond roll up his sleeves as he spread folders and other stray pieces of paper on the kitchen table. He didn’t sit down. In his usual style, leaning on the edge of the table. You took one of the folders, opening it and inspecting the images and notes made on the documents. None of it really made sense, but that’s what you two were here to crack. Who these people were and if they had anything to do with the case.

Not much was said after that, the work seemed to flow smoothly even without any words or conversation. You kept passing documents to each other after taking notes from them. Having a clear, unspoken order in which to do things. 

Time passed rather quickly. The earlier bright house was now dim, only the light on top of the table giving a comforting light upon the two of you and the papers. All of that time had been spent well though, there was a small pile of notes and new clues you had found with the help from Almond. But all of that work had gotten to you, especially after a busy workday on top of that. Your head was leaned against your palm as you flipped through the last bits of the documents in front of you. The feeling of your eyelids sometimes closing was creeping on you, head feeling heavy. Sometimes your eyes would close for a longer time, making you think you’d already fallen asleep. But then the thought of that woke you up again. You still had to drive home, you couldn’t fall asleep here. Not to mention that there was another workday ahead. 

Almond must have still been going through the documents, since you heard the noises of paper rustling. If he was still working, he couldn’t have noticed how tired you had gotten. But the more you allowed your thoughts to wander like this, the more drowsy you became. It didn’t take long for your eyes to start closing again, this time staying that way. Your breathing calmed down, becoming slower and softer. After all, the space was comforting too. The kitchen was warm, but not too hot. The lights not blindingly bright, but a nice shade of light yellow.

Not a lot of time passed before Almond noticed you, at least it hadn’t felt like you’d been napping for that long. He had spotted your sleeping form, making him raise one of his eyebrows before his expression softened. Almond was tired as well, but that was not a new feeling to him. A slight smile creeped onto his face before he slipped off of the chair he’d been on, coming over to your sleeping form. He felt conflicted about waking you up, seeing how peaceful you looked. Then again, sleeping in that position for any longer would most certainly cause some kind of back problems, he would know.

Almond placed his hand on your shoulder, shaking you gently. You hadn’t had the time to fall into a deeper state of sleep, so even the gentle shake caused you to stir awake quickly. 

A soft gasp escaped your mouth the second your eyes opened again, realising that you had actually fallen asleep that time. Almond’s hand was still on your shoulder, making you turn and look at him, causing your cheeks to redden. “O-oh, I’m so sorry. Ah, I should get going, I suppose.” You attempted to chuckle it off as you stood up, dusting your clothes to relieve some stress from the jump you’d just had. Almond’s hand slipped off your shoulder, a somewhat of a worried look on his face. “Are you planning on driving home in this condition?” he asked, even tilting his head a little as if he was truly surprised by what you had said. You furrowed your brows, inhaling before even thinking of what to say. “I- Yes? Of course, I have to go home. I’m getting sleepy, so there’s no point in continuing work any longer.” You chuckled softly, trying to move towards the front door. Almond followed along, still looking concerned. But not stopping you. “No- no. I insist, stay here. I wouldn’t want you to injure yourself only because you left here while so tired.” He said, taking a couple of quicker steps to attempt to block the way to the front door, though clearly not making it hard to just walk past him. Merely giving you an option to think over. 

You thought of your options, not sure what to do. Sure you felt awake now but after sitting down and driving for a while you might as well fall asleep like you’d done earlier, and that wouldn’t be safe. You slumped your shoulder and sighed, giving in. “Are you suggesting I’d sleep here? I possibly couldn't-” you started, but he put up his hands, stopping you before you could go on. “No, I insist. If you don’t feel comfortable in the guest room, the couch is also available. I’ll get you a pillow and a blanket, hm?” Almond said. He didn’t look so worried anymore, probably guessing you had given in to the thought of having to stay in his house for the night. You processed that for a moment before nodding slowly, couch it is. You’d just leave early in the morning to not be a bother any more than you already were. Or maybe that would be rude, to disappear without saying anything… This was getting complicated, far more than you’d hoped for. 

“Yeah, sure. “ You hummed, sighing. “Thank you.” Almond smiled slightly, relieved that you weren’t thinking of going on the road anymore. “I’ll go and get the sheets.” He added soon after, walking off to his bedroom. 

You stood in the hallway for a moment before deciding to walk over to your bed for the night. It looked comfy, better than sleeping in your car. Yet not intruding, since you weren’t messing up his guest room. So you supposed this was going to be okay, is a little embarrassing for having gotten so tired without even properly noticing. 

Almond soon returned, carrying a couple of pillows, a blanket and sheets for the couch. You made some space for him, getting on the other side of the couch to help him make the bed. “If you need anything else, come and ask,” Almond said calmly while tugging the sheets in place with your help. Fluffing up the pillow as you laid the blanket down. The same feeling of teamwork even in this, as you had with any work. Finding that amusing. “Ah, yes. Thank you.” You chuckled, noticing your delayed reply. Which hadn’t gone unnoticed by him either, seemingly having assumed it was due to the exhaustion. Seeing leaving you to sleep as the best option. 

“Of course. You’re always welcome here,” he said after a moment of hesitation, taking a breath after to change the topic. “I’ll see you in the morning, good night.” He smiled faintly, clear signs of exhaustion on his face as well. But he seemed to be more skilled with hiding that than you’d been. “Night,” you replied before sitting on the edge of the couch. A breath escaping you, attempting to ease your shoulders. The fact that you’d be waking up in the same house in the morning and taking the same way to work only now truly sinking in. You couldn’t possibly just leave before he woke up.

Due to that, you found it hard to catch sleep anymore. Having to force yourself to think of the positives to calm your mind. Which surprisingly wasn’t hard. Having known Almond for long enough, to know he didn’t mind you sleeping here one bit. In the end, spending time with him like this was comfortable, like second nature. The morning might as well be pleasant, you’d never know. 

And with those thoughts, accompanied by many more, you were able to drift back into a comfortable sleep.

The chocolates you send into various mailboxes were always a treat to the cookies, something that they savored and cherished throughout the day…

Yogurt Cream Cookie rode upon his flying carpet as he headed to the front of his palace. Normally, he’d have his servants handle things for him. On the day of Valentines though, he must be the one to inspect what’s sent to them. It’s just as delectable every year, a packaged box of heart shapers chocolates along with a note of love from his beloved Baker.

He couldn’t help but smile to himself as he read it, popping a chocolate into his mouth. He sighed contently as the pure sweetness of the chocolate melted as he ate it.

“The sweetest when they make it themselves. Truly something that Coins can never buy…~”

He floated back inside his palace with the box in his hands, nothing but the Baker on his mind…

Walnut Cookie could not have pulled out the two boxes of chocolate fast enough from the mail as she hurried back inside, Almond Cookie couldn’t help but smile at his daughter’s enthusiasm, he did a good job keeping his hidden. The Baker’s chocolate was the best there is, the sweetness gave him the energy he needed for the number of cases he was on for the week, it surpassed even that of the coffee he has on occasion.

“Looks delicious! Oops, I should’ve tested if it’s safe to eat first…”

Walnut felt embarrassed to have gone through most of her box already in front of her dad, something he assured was okay. This was chocolate, not evidence of a crime scene. He couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit when Walnut went right back to enjoying her box, as he ate some chocolate himself, feeling energized already. If he could taste love in food, he was tasting it right now…

Baker, never stop being incredible, he’d thought to himself.

Hearing that, one of their monsters tried to take the chocolate from them…only to be met with an extremely angry Lychee in return!

The monster understandly retreated away in fear from Lychee’s outburst as they continued to glare at them from afar. Lychee did a double check around before opening it and hastily eating a piece, unable to stop the dreamy sigh from them.

Unfortunately it was chaos

(Because Triplet 1(Boy) climbs everywhere and anywhere, Triplet 2(Boy) Chews on everything and anything, Triplet 3 (Girl) likes to throw anything they find that is very close to them)

For Almond, being a detective was already a full-time job, and being a father for his new doughs was basically a night shift and a half. He put on the lullaby music for bedtime, helped them if one of them cried, and found himself smiling when one of his triplets let out a giggle. When you're too tired from a restless night, he'll ask Walnut to help him get the babies their bottles when they need them. And when he's too tired, the older sister will play and entertain the triplets the best she can, even if they are a bit grabby. Walnut also helps to retrieve toys that the triplets mess with, like getting them from behind cabinets or under tables if they're thrown or out of her baby sister's mouth. She doesn't want them to hurt themselves somehow, even keeping an eye on one of her baby brother's so they don't try and climb the curtains or something. When you and Almond are able to get some sleep, he pulls you in close into his arms and gives you gentle and sleepy kisses, mumbling how lucky he is to be able to have a family with you...

the two of you were head over heels for each other and not ashamed to show it with open affection and such — even if almond tended to get a bit flustered whenever you kissed him in public

he uses very traditional pet names for you — think ‘honey’ and ‘love’ — but the ones that affect him the most are the more modern ones you use, like ‘baby’ or ‘hot stuff’

he refers to you as his husband to others despite the fact that the two of you aren’t even engaged yet — it’s just a habit of his he developed since he knew you’d get married eventually

he introduced you to his daughter after your one year anniversary, but he’d of course mentioned having a kid since before your first date

the meeting is slightly awkward at first but she quickly opens up to you and starts talking about everything her dad has told her about you — which mortifies your poor boyfriend

similarly you share how often her father gushes about her accomplishments, which makes her start beaming

then you ask her about the cases she’s been working on

and that was the start of a beautiful friendship — and almond couldn’t be any more relieved if he tried

so needless to say by the time you’ve started the process of moving in, you’re very close with young walnut and you have fostered a relationship that encourages fun and open communication

you’re not necessarily an extra parent yet, but you’re definitely a trusted adult and you’re happy to help her out whenever she asks or needs it

like you’ll pick her up from school whenever her dad is ill or swamped with work

you’ll stay over at theirs and make her food and play with her if almond is away or forced into working overtime

you’ll tell her stories and tuck her into bed at night — even when she insists that she’s not tired through yawns and heavy eyes

and you’ll help her with her homework however you can

all that to say that it wasn’t unusual for you to be home alone with walnut on a school night — her dad having just gotten off the phone with her a few minutes prior

but what was a surprise was when she called out to you whilst you were making her a hearty dinner, frustration emanating from her words as she sat at the table behind you.

‘i really don’t get it… can you help me with this equation, dad?’

and then the room was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop

but you quickly regain your composure and respond with a quick ‘sure’ before moving the pan off of the heat and going to sit down beside her

she tries to apologise but you shush her and insist that you’re not upset, but you need to talk to her dad about if he’s okay with sharing the title

and you make a joke and she laughs and everything’s back to normal

you walk her through the equation she was struggling with then have a celebratory high-five and hug

you finish up dinner and both eat your share before you set aside a serving for your boyfriend

you watch a movie of her choosing

then you end the night with two chapters of her new book and a forehead kiss goodnight

and when almond gets home an hour or so later you greet him normally (with a kiss and a ‘hey babe’) and make him some dinner and discuss what had happened

he listens quietly and nods thoughtfully as he eats, considering for a good few minutes after you finish saying your piece before he speaks

‘are you comfortable being called dad by her?’

‘well, yeah but —’

‘then i have no issues with it. we can tell her the good news in the morning — this is really good by the way, honey.’
