The door to Hangyeol's room stood a bit open. It was enough for Azrael to see how the Archangel was lying on his bed and smiling at his cell phone. Azrael stopped in his movement. Why was Hangyeol smiling at his phone when Azrael clearly hadn't sent him a text message? The horseman's brow furrowed. Silently, he pushed open the door and cleared his throat. "Hangyeol? My angel? Who has been texting you? Why are you laughing like that?" Of course, it was none of his business, but maybe Azrael was a tiny bit jealous after all. "You never laugh like that when I write you! Let me see!!! Is there something funny?" with one jump Azrael got on the bed to catch a glimpse of the cell phone.
@clairdclunc
Hangyeol didn't notice Azrael at first as he was too preoccupied with the meme he was looking at on the page someone at work had suggested to him. Only when the other spoke, the archangel looked up from his phone but before he could say anything, Azrael was already halfway on top of him, looking over his shoulder to see what he was looking at. Letting out a groan, Hangyeol glanced at him. "What's wrong with you?", he asked before averting his gaze back to his phone. "Nobody texted me. I'm just looked at some memes on a sit someone at work suggested to take a look at because they thought, with the work that I do, I could use something to brighten my day.", Hangyeol explained then showed the meme displayed on the screen of his phone to Azrael. "I really don't know whether I find your possessiveness over me cute or disturbing. Maybe a little bit of both."

★ — Hangyeol & Azrael ( @clairdclunc )
For the past two weeks, Hangyeol and Azrael have avoided each other. He spent most of his time either at work or in his room with the door closed and while the archangel appreciated the freedom and not being constantly bothered anymore at first, he soon realized that he had grown so accustomed to Azrael bugging him that it felt strange to not have it happen. He... missed it, he missed... him.
One evening, Hangyeol simply had enough and instead of disappearing into his room right after getting home from work, he stopped by his old study, the room Azrael was now occupying. The door was closed but he knew that Azrael was in there. Taking a moment, he took a deep breath then knocked at the door. "Azrael, we need to talk... now... and don't pretend you're not in there because I know you are."

★ — Starter from Hangyeol || requested by @lagda
Having been living among people for quite a while now, Hangyeol has managed to make a couple of friends here and there. Of course, he couldn't reveal his true identity to them for obvious reasons but he was open about not having experience in or have experienced certain things.
One of those things he hadn't experienced yet but had recently gotten curious about were musicals. Of course, he listened to the radio as well as watched TV but when one of his friends mentioned musicals to him, he got interested and did some research on them. Finding them fascinating, he was very delighted when his friend surprised him with tickets and invited him to his first musical experience.
Not sure how to dress for the occasion, he asked his friend and after having been given some advice and told that he wouldn’t have to wear anything too formal, he opted to go for a simple outfit.
After arriving at the venue, Hangyeol took in the atmosphere and looked around for a bit, somewhat studying how the people around him behaved to learn how someone would generally behave during events such as this. Soon there was an announcement for them to get seated as the musical was about to begin so his friend lead him into the hall and to their seats. Their seats were in the center of the third row so Hangyeol had the perfect view of the entirety of the stage.
Soon after they had sat down, the lights got dimmed and the music began to play. Right from the start, he was mesmerized by everything that was going on on stage. The presentation of the story, the vocals of the actors and actresses, as well as the entire atmosphere. Especially one of the actresses had caught his attention as he found her performance to be outstanding and he could've sworn that they've locked eyes at one point even if it was just for the blink of an eye.
He was surprised when there was a break during the performance but his friend explained to Hangyeol that it was a common practice to give the performers a chance to catch their breath, change their outfits, and it was usually also used to do bigger changes on the stage setup for the rest of the scenes.
After the break was over, they went back to their seats, and much to Hangyeol's disappointment, the musical was over quicker than he anticipated. If it would've been up to him, it could've gone on for another hour or two.
As they were leaving the hall, his friend let him know that there was going to be an afterparty and that he got them tickets in advance in case Hangyeol wanted to go. Of course, he wanted to go and so they made their way to the rather large back room where the afterparty was held after stepping outside for some fresh air.
Feeling a bit hungry, Hangyeol was glad that there was a buffet which they immediately made their way towards to grab some food. Once both of them had filled their plate, they went to sit down at one of the tables in the corner where a server came up to them and asked if they wanted anything to drink. They both ordered a beer then started to eat.
A short time later, the server came back with the beer they've ordered and put the glasses down then disappeared again. When Hangyeol looked up and around, he noticed some of the performers entering the room and grabbing some food from the buffet as well before finding a table to sit at. That's when he noticed a woman who he believed to be the actress he thought to have locked eyes with when she was performing on stage earlier and unintentionally ended up staring at her without realizing it.

Jihwan had just brought back one of the dogs he was taking care of this morning and was on his way to one of the pet stores not too far from his apartment complex to buy some treats because his stock was slowly but surely running low when he spotted a white fluffy pomeranian wandering around and it didn't seem like he was following or with anyone. Furrowing his brows, he watched the little dog for a while but when he still couldn't make out whether or not the owner was around, he decided to approach the dog, squatting down a little away from the animal.
Thankfully, Jihwan just had a way with dogs that made them trust him quite easily so it was no surprise that it didn't take long for the pomeranian to curiously approach him. He still had some treats in his pocket which he used to get him to come closer and closer until he was close enough for Jihwan to pet him and give him one of the treats.
"Are you by yourself?", Jihwan asked as if expecting a reply from the dog. The pomeranian looked at him and tilted his head to the side, blinking a couple of times. "What's your name? Do you have a tag?", he continued to interact with the furball while he checked to see if he was wearing a collar and thankfully, he was and it also seemed like there was a nametag attached to it.
"Will you let me take a look at your nametag?", he spoke calmly while he reached under the dog and carefully picked him up after making sure that he wasn't uncomfortable with being picked up. Now that he was able to take look at the nametag, he learned that the dog's name was Hunter and that there was also an address engraved on the back of the nametag which, needless to say, made his search for the dog's owner a whole lot easier than having to go to the vet to have them check if he was chipped.
"Oh, you don't live too far from here. Do you want to go home, Hunter?", he asked with a soft smile as he got up, still focusing on the dog and making sure that he was still fine with being held. "Let's take you home. I'm sure your owner is worried sick and will be happy to have you back."
Shopping for treats could wait. Jihwan's mission now was to return Hunter to his owner and it didn't take him long before he stood in front of the apartment complex of the address on the back of Hunter's nametag. Checking for the name, he rang the doorbell and waited for an answer, when he spotted two men with shopping bags approach the building.

Death kept his gaze on the Archangel the entire time. His legs were crossed, slender fingers curled around the newspaper that blocked his face. Only when Hangyeol passed by, Death peeked over the edge of the paper. Just when he felt Hangyeol passing by for the nth time, everything was different. Just when he looked over the newspaper, he stared right into those very familiar hues that were only inches away from him. The sudden closeness was so unexpected that Death screamed and threw the newspaper right in Hangyeol's face. "FUCKING HELL!" he exclaimed loudly, kicking one foot as well. "Are you insane? You scared the shit out of me! If you wanted to kiss me you could have done it more smoothly, DAMN!!"
Hangyeol couldn’t contain his laughter despite having a newspaper thrown into his face. Death’s reaction was just too funny not to burst into laughter. In fact, he was laughing so hard that tears starting forming in the corners of his eyes which was something he hadn’t experienced before. This was probably what pure joy must feel like, he thought.
“I wish I could say that I’m sorry for startling you but honestly, I’m not sorry at all. This was totally worth it and maybe it’ll teach you a lesson not to spy on me every minute of the day.” Hangyeol said once he had regained the ability to talk after his laughing fit.
“And kiss you?”, he scoffed, “Don’t make me laugh. Why would I want to kiss you?” A pause followed and Hangyeol furrowed his brows. “You know, you do have a tendency to make everything about yourself as if you’re the most important thing to me and everything I do has something to do with you. Quite egocentric I must say.”
Taking a step back, the Archangel picked up the newspaper from the ground and neatly folded it before he put it down on the couch next to the other.
“I’m going to use the bathroom now. Do you want to accompany me to observe what I’m doing in there?”, he asked, hardly able to hold back the chuckle that was tickling his throat, wanting to come out.

💎💎💎 ( for hangyeol )
Send "💎💎💎" and My Muse will say three things that comes to their mind when Your Muse's name is mentioned
Hangyeol & Azrael
"I hate Azrael from the bottom of my heart but, at the same, I've somehow also grown to love him which is something I will definitely never understand. He's so damn infuriating with just about everything he does and says but I know I can rely on him when I need him to have my back. I don't want to admit it but I love that idiot."

★ — Hangyeol & Death ( @clairdclunc )
“ you should be scared of me. i like that you’re not. ”
Hangyeol put the book he was reading down onto his lap and placed the bookmark in between the pages before closing it. He was hoping for a quiet evening but he knew that it was only a matter of time before Azrael would say something and disturb Hangyeol's peace rather than sitting there quietly. "What are you on about?", he asked after letting out a small sigh. "Why, in God's name, would I be scared of you?" Honestly, he always wondered why and how Azrael came up with these random thoughts out of nowhere but he just couldn't find an answer to the mystery that was Azrael's brain. Of course, the Archangel knew that Azrael could be a threat but he didn't see him as such. "You're not having any funny ideas, are you?", he asked curiously with one of his brows raised.

★ — Hangyeol & Death ( @clairdclunc )
“I haven’t seen you in hours. Where were you hiding?”
Hangyeol tried to ignore Death's presence to the best of his abilities but it was really hard to do so when it was so obtrusive. He had engulfed himself in a veil of powerful magic to hide his true identity and thankfully, it worked for me but unfortunately, it didn't work for Death. He seemed to be able to see right through Hangyeol's facade and hasn't stopped lingering around him ever since he found out that Hangyeol was Barachiel and that he was currently living among humans.
Of course, it wasn't every day that someone like him took a human form and wandered the earth so Hangyeol assumed that Death was curious and intrigued by him being there and therefore wanted to linger around in order to find out what he was up to but he feeling Death breathe down his neck almost every second of every minute of every day ever since he had found out about him was exhausting.
Heaving a sigh, Hangyeol lowered the book he was reading and glanced up at Death. "What do you want?", he asked, unable to hold back another sigh following his words. "Don't you have anything better to do than to follow me around?"

★ — Hangyeol & Death ( @clairdclunc )
Hangyeol was definitely not interested in having Azrael live with him but he knew that the other wasn't going to take no for an answer so he eventually cleaned up the room he had turned into a small study and exchanged the desk with a bed for his unwelcome roommate to use. Thankfully, he had plenty of extra pillows, blankets, and sheets that he didn't have to spend any more money than he already did on the bed.
A couple of days later, he was out and about in order to get some groceries because, despite not really knowing how to cook, he was curious about it and wanted to give it a try because fast food was alright but not exactly the tastiest food, at least to him.
Standing in front of the door to his apartment, he was just about to put the code in when he felt someone walk up really close behind him. Glancing over his shoulder, he got startled but quickly recovered when he realized that it was Azrael. "Don't sneak up on me like that!", he grumbled before finally unlocking and opening the door.

★ — Hangyeol & Lucy ( @noirpearls )
Before his trip to earth, Barachiel has called upon a couple of guardian angels in order to figure out where he could go and most importantly where he could stay. One of them suggested that he should go to South Korea, Seoul to be exact and that they knew a group of Nephilim they could talk to in order to figure out a place for him to stay as well as someone to help him while he was on earth. The archangel agreed and sent the guardian angel ahead to notify the Nephilim about his arrival in two days. Of course, he could've gone right away but there were things he needed to take care of before heading to earth.
Two days later, just as planned, he was on his way to earth. Following the guardian angel to an alleyway behind an apartment complex, he took on his human form as soon as they arrived so he wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb. He was handed a bag with some clothes, a phone, and a wallet with some money as well as a credit and debit card inside by another guardian angel who was waiting there for them. Being guarded by both of them, he quickly changed out of his armor and into a set of the clothes from the bag, putting his armor in there to keep it hidden from prying eyes.
Once he was done, they led him into the building and up to one of the higher floors before stopping in front of one of the apartment doors. One of the guardian angels explained to him who the female Nephilim living there was and that he would be staying here for a day or two until one of the apartments a floor down would free up as the man living there was close to passing away soon.
When he was ready, he sent the guardian angels away and knocked on the door, waiting for the girl they called Lucy to answer.

“Care to share how you wound up in this situation?” (Lucy & Hangyeol)
★ — Hangyeol & Lucy ( @noirpearls )
“I honestly don’t know.”, Hangyeol replied with a shrug. “I just wanted to explore a little but I guess I somehow managed to get lost. I’m sorry if I caused you any trouble. That definitely wasn’t my intention at all. Thank you for coming and picking me up, though.” Lucy had previously introduced him to a map app and even saved a bookmark for quick access to get directions back to their apartment complex from wherever he may be but Hangyeol was happy to even know how to make calls and send texts.

“You keep staring at me instead of watching the film. What’s up?” (lucy x hangyeol)
★ — Hangyeol & Lucy ( @noirpearls )
When Lucy caught Hangyeol staring at her, he cleared his throat and immediately looked away, his cheeks slightly flushed in embarrassment. He wasn’t even aware that he was staring until she spoke up but for some reason, he caught himself looking at her a lot more often these days and he was feeling some kind of way even though, he couldn’t exactly put a finger on what it was that he was feeling as he was still unfamiliar with the idea of what it meant to be attracted to someone.
“I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, I just.. you look really beautiful today.”

“I sleep better if you’re around.” (lucy x hangyeol)
★ — Hangyeol & Lucy ( @noirpearls )
“Is that so?” Hangyeol asked, tipping his head to the side a little. “Rest assured, I’m not going anywhere. I sleep here most of the time anyhow.” Despite having moved into the apartment one floor down after the former tenant had passed away, the archangel still spent most of his time in Lucy’s apartment and even slept there a lot of times. He really appreciated her company and liked spending time with her in general. He was also still learning about a lot of things and was grateful to have her nearby to ask questions whenever he had any. However, every once in a while, despite being a greater being, even he needed time to himself to recharge and simply focus on his own well-being for a while for which his own apartment came in handy.

“It never ends well for people like me.” // Lucy & Hangyeol
★ — Hangyeol & Lucy ( @noirpearls )
Hangyeol wasn’t sure why Lucy would say something like that as he thought there was no reason for her to think like that at all. So far, she had been nothing but helpful to him and none of her actions seemed to be careless. “Would you care to elaborate?”, the archangel asked before taking a sip from the cup of tea he was holding. “I’m a good listener.”, Hangyeol added with a soft smile.

💛 🧡 💔 ( for hangyeol )
@clairdclunc
💛 How much does platonic love mean to you?
"Hm, platonic love is something that's very common I'd say so while it does hold quite a significance, I think it's slightly below romantic love. Platonic love is, well, I don't have a lot of friends, but it's something I would direct at those I care about but don't feel a certain way about. I also think that platonic love is something that can easily be experienced by just one person without getting hurt by another because while it's love, there aren't any deeper-lying feelings involved. Of course, you care about the person and you usually do more than you would about someone who's just an acquaintance but things are not as serious as they would be if it was romantic love.", Hangyeol. explained then paused for a moment. "I hope that made sense."
🧡 How much does familial love mean to you?
"Oh, familial love is something I would put above romantic love. I think familial love is something that requires a very strong bond, one that doesn't rupture no matter what happens. I don't consider familial love to be something to exist only among blood relations but anyone you have a really strong bond with and consider family, someone you can't picture your life without but not someone you're necessarily in love with. However, of course, someone you're feeling romantic love for can also move up to the familial love category."
💔 How do you face the end of love (breakups, being stood up, etc)?
"Honestly, I don't know. I haven't been in love or relationships enough to give an answer to this question. Actually, I've never been in a relationship or in love before until recently so, uhm, I haven't really gone through a breakup. I have been stood up once when I tried going on a blind date to see what it's all about but that's about it. I'm not one to dwell on things like that for too long so I suppose I might be able to move on rather quickly, however, I won't know for sure unless it actually happens."

It was long after midnight when Azrael burst into Hangyeol's room without knocking on the door first. "Barachiel!" he burst out before plopping down on the edge of the bed. "Barachiel, are you awake?" He poked the body under the sheets with one finger first, then he slapped against what he thought was the Archangel's shoulder. "Can you believe it? I just accompanied one of my newer Reapers to observe their work and make sure everything is fine and that soul, that impudent dead human dared to say that my haircut looks weird? Do you think my haircut looks weird? I thought having it a little curly is a trend?" Azrael huffed and puffed, slapping Hangyeol's shoulder again. "I am...deeply hurt."
Having to get up early in the morning, Hangyeol decided to go to bed early. He had also had a stressful day so it didn't take long before he fell asleep. However, his sleep was disturbed the moment Azrael stepped into his room and did everything possible to make sure he'd wake up. At first, he tried to ignore him but ignoring Azrael was nearly impossible by how persistent he was. Heaving a sigh, Hangyeol eventually opened his eyes and pulled the covers down enough so he could look at the other. "Why are you like this?", he asked while glaring at him but instead of waiting for a reply, Hangyeol let out a groan before he grabbed a hold of Azrael and pulled him under the covers, wrapping his arms and legs around him so he could get away. "Curly just isn't your style.", he mumbled then quickly pressed his lips against his to keep him from responding.
