Not the full essay I was hoping to write, but essentially:

Danielle and Dan are the two sides of the Chibiusa coin-- they are "derivative" of Danny (Usagi) and express a child's desire for/possessiveness of their father, Vlad (Mamoru)

For Dani, it's relatively straightforward in canon,

But for Dan, there are so many implications drawn from what little is presented in TUE– namely that, he inherits Danny's apparent desire to eliminate himself and “possess” Vlad. Which is Black Lady's whole schtick: a child's innocent wish to surpass the parent they identify with and marry the other, but manifested into a twisted reality.
