A few hours ago, the Blackrabbit would have figured her idea to take shortcuts through forests a wonderful idea. No dealing with people spotting her, she would be left alone from dawn ‘til dusk, and she could simply float through anything in her way without a problem.
Right now, she was dealing with her hindsight, and it was 20/20.
With only the glow of her eyes and mouth guiding her, the noises at night made her constantly glance around, watching, waiting.       From his nightmares the Giant walked into reality.
Kent froze up instantly; the sound of living metal (subtle warps and pops, the type of noise that almost suggested breathing) had him overcome with a sense of dread. He was caught between the urge to get angry, to assume the armor of rage, and to break down sobbing on the dusty ground of the McCoppin Scrapyard. If it weren’t for the burn of emotion in his throat Kent would have sworn he was dreaming.
Tumblr media
Stammering and shaking, he forced his gaze upwards. And there he was.
