Something interesting about Consul N's characterisation is that his goals start of more noble and selfless. Akin to Jin in Xenoblade 2, he just wants to save Mio from her endless fate of death. Initially, his goals are aimed towards this.

However, over time his grief and desperation take hold of him. N starts to do anything to keep Mio with him, even killing his offspring due to this desire. Over time he becomes clingy, controlling, and abusive. Mio/M starts to lose her sense of self and freedom.

This leads to Mio/M wanting to kill herself to break free from N's grasp, and also a desire to hopefully break him free from his current state. N starts off as a soft, gentle person, who became an anti-hero in a desire to save the one he loved but went too far.

I love Mio and Noah's relationship so much due to the way they aren't 'destined' lovers, if anything fate is trying to keep them apart. Every past attempt to be together gets them shut down and lose their way. N is such an interesting character to me for this reason.

I posted a recreation of one of those stupid green line test images featuring Consuls O and P on r/Xenoblade_Chronicles, and while it was generally well-received (it accumulated 600 karma in 24 hours), it REALLY pissed off a select few individuals and I genuinely have no idea why

the first guy blocked me immediately after posting that comment, so it wasn't just a tongue-in-cheek "thanks, I hate it" sort of thing. like, literally what about the image is so heinous?? even if these people were unfamiliar with the original version, how are any of these comments warranted 😭
