Trigger warning: I know you talk a lot about how Ozai emotionally abused Azula but do you think she was sexually abused as well considering some of her more questionable behavior towards Zuko (ex. the infamous bedroom scene) and Sokka (ex. DoBS interaction) could be interpreted as her passing on her abuse and/or Ozai teaching her to weaponize her sexuality? Especially since The Beach shows she has no social, dating, or flirting skills or history as far as we know?

Sigh, no. There really is nothing questionable about Azula’s behavior towards either Sokka or Zuko in either of those scenes. The bedroom scene and the DoBS scenes are infamous because people feel the need to sexualize anything about Azula that can be sexualized. There is nothing to consider. Azula has no skills in the game of love because she is 14 and has frequently interacted with (3) people around her age one of them her brother and all of them also weird.

From my personal analysis, I get a sense of emotional incest between Azula and Ozai. 

But before we say things like “Azula was sexually abused makes sense” let’s think about what it consitiutes. 

What a trope that the woman of color, specifically East Asian, is so evil and twisted because she’s been broken by a much older man. That she even lures and distracts the enemy (Sokka) in battle because she knows how to use herself so well. Of course she’s so sinful and wrong that she even goes out of her way to seduce her brother for absolutely no reason. It’s the clear the submissive asian girl stereotype pipe lined to the demonized dragon lady stereotype.

Everything that idea pepetruates is disgusting and adds nothing to the development of her character. There’s nothing wrong with the way Azula behaves, she was really being playful in the bedroom scene and borderline flirtatious on DoBS. I also find it disturbing that mostly adults love to take this about a 14 year old and twist it into something much darker. It’s something those who sexualize Azula get off to. Gross.

I'm really disappointed that ikkaku wasn't punished by the head captain. During the war he made it clear that the soul reapers were to fight with their lives, yet ikkaku refused to do that from the get go for the sake of no one finding out he had a bankai.

1: given the fact that he's in squad 11, I would be surprised if he DIDN'T have a bankai given how much that squad loves to fight. It would be unusual for them not to constantly try to surpass themselves and each other

2: he was afraid that they would force him to become captain, but why would the head captain make someone who doesn't want to be captain a captain? If he didn't want to do it then that means he would just be a terrible captain. No one can make him do that. Also renji wasn't forced to become a captain despite his bankai and squads 3, 5, 9 went with out captains.

.3: wouldn't his lack of action to use his bankai consitiute as abandonment or treason?

4: what's the point in fearing that he would become captain if the soul reapers lost? There would more than likely be no soul society to captain in if everyone died because he refused to fight fully.

Yet sunshui and kenpachi were chastised for loosing their captains coat. I'm surprised he wasn't embarrassed that Yumichika had to basically save him.

If you are trying to find reason and sense in the justice of the Soul Society, you will not find it, @lostalienchild.

However, I can hardly blame @ikkakusuggestions for hiding the extent of his power. I can't imagine he's the only member of the Gotei with such secrets. Power, my dear child, is not always appreciated by the Gotei as much as you might imagine.

In fact, one can be imprisoned in the Maggot's Nest for being a potential threat to the Soul Society.

Which reminds me... the question I have always had about Madarame Ikkaku is this: why was he so terrified to discover that the person who taught Ichigo to fight was @uraharasuggestions? How did he even know Urahara Kisuke? And... to fear him? At what point in his life in the Gotei, did Madarame even cross swords with Urahara? Why would he have had the occasion to? Unless, of course, perhaps, our Eleventh Division's Third Seat had spent some time in the Maggot's nest when Urahara Kisuke was warden there...?

If that's the answer, then perhaps you have an answer to all of your questions.

If Madarame was once a guest of the Maggot's Nest, he has every good reason to fear revealing bankai and for refusing a captaincy, even at risk to the whole of the Soul Society. It might not even be conscious. He may just sense that too much power is considered dangerous, since, surely, that is how he may have been taken in from the Rukongai to begin with. The Maggot's Nest is a horrible place. I surely hope this is not the case, but it would explain a lot, would it not?

Im here to prove that "Order 66" in StarWars is actually the U.S. government & the Vatican's plan to enact Rex-84 on the Washitaws("Black" people of America). In Real Life "Order 66" will be enacted by the Jedi, NOT the Sith. The U.S. government will enact Rex-84 and call for the arrest & detainment of all people they consider "Threats to National Security." And they will start by rounding up Washitaws 1st.

Day 52, Vigo, 28th Oct

An early morning train to Vigo. I'm getting expert at buying metro tickets to get to the train station. The kids would be proud of me. Vigo was about two and a half hours up the coast.

Lots of vineyards around.

This big new bridge was in the process of being built. I took this photo for Matthew.

Vigo looked to be an attractive city. I only came here as it's just over the border back into Spain and the train to Bilbao started here.

 I headed out for a wander. Fishing plays a big part in the local economy.

Interesting sculpture

The lady on reception told me there was a local bus that went around in a circle so I caught that for a look see as this was another hilly place.

Another fishing inspired sculpture. Naked fishermen hauling in the net.

It was very sunny but the light has started to change heading north and getting later in the season.

They were certainly well built.

Some of the buildings were quite attractive around the place.

Another unique sculpture in the middle of the round about.

I walked through the shopping street and I don't think I have even been in such a quiet shopping area ever in Europe.
