Just wrote a scene of dialogue and a monologue for my scriptwriting class and I decided to write a dysfunctional and toxic mother/daughter relationship and uhhhhh, I may have hit a bit too close to home on some of the subject matter

No kiss rain all night and incessant this morning also ready in an hour F59 ½° at 7 50 am at which hour went out - George’s room full of water by the inlet of an old drain - set Robert Mann’s 2 drift-drivers (too wet to begin at 5am at the water drift) to phey out the stuff at the back of the room against the coal-place and on this side into the entrance court - had Mr Husband - breakfast at 9 - A- removed my books ready for the stove place in the library passage being cased with stone tomorrow - she had Mr Washington about Brooke’s (at Hipperholm) pigsties - I in and out and with A- till 11 50 very rainy day - no farmyard wallers come - Cockroft’s brother underfooting in George’s room and Robert and Joseph cutting up sticks in the 2 house stable - from 12 to 4 settled George’s account etc wrote and copied letter to Mr Johnson respecting the school master Mr Sharp, and wrote and copied letter to Mr Patience thanking him for his well-drawn-up account of the orphan asylum at Clapton near London and for the valuable information he gave me - from home and no parcels forwarded or should not have been so long in acknowledging the receipt of his packet - hoped Mr Johnson had got us a school master and mistress (married) - much obliged to Mr Patience and enclosed him a five pounds bank of England note - very civil letter - a long while trying to write copy of congratulations to Charlotte Canning late Stuart but could not manage it stupid and gave it up    Booth the mason came at 4 to see about George’s room - out with him in the outbuildings or talking to him in the house till long after 5 - told him I would have the farmyard entrance door buttress (the part done) (low side) pulled down and he B- and his men should do the buttresses - he said Holt had ordered the Stump x Inn cistern to be 8ft. long + 4ft. broad within - the sides and ends and bottom to be each one stone - I never understood this - thought it would be a walled up cistern and well puddled with a ft thick of puddle all round - B- said the stone would cost 6d a ft. at the delph - reckoned up there would be about 170ft. superficial at 6 and the carted could not be done at 1d. per ft. say 2d. then 170ft. of stone at 8d. + the labour would be expensive - said I would consider about it - dinner at 6 10 in 35 minutes - sometime with my father and Marian - my aunt sent a brace a moorgame to Mrs AW- Cliff Hill between 5 and 6 this afternoon - The Sutherlands not arrived - coffee - letter from Messrs. Hammersleys London enclosing scale of the model from M. Gaudin very sorry he had forgotten to send it with the model - Came to my study and till 9 25 wrote all but the 1st 7 lines of today - sent this evening my letter to ‘the reverend Mr Johnson, central national school Westminster, London post paid’ and my letter to ‘Mr Patience Newby Lodge near Boroughbridge post paid’ - very rainy, thoroughly soaking day - F62° at 10 35 and rainy night - with my aunt from 10 to 10 35 poorly, she said, this morning but seeming pretty well tonight.

I’ve decided this is going to be the week I actually get my shit together (never mind that it’s already Tuesday, leave me alone), so I’m just gonna leave this post here and update it whenever I do something that I needed to do/was overdue/is just good for my general well-being, and I’ll see where it’s at on Friday. You know, might use this blog as an actual blog :P - 7:10am, 30/03

30/03 - Tuesday

- Went to my first lecture of the week, Sex, Death and Ritual (the only lecture that takes attendance, and it’s only 50 minutes long, and it’s the only thing I have to leave the house for, and it’s at 9am, so you can imagine how difficult it is for me to convince myself to do it lmao)

(A lovely nursing student said she loved my hair when we were getting on the loop bus <3)

- Tidied up my room a little, but more importantly I put away all my washing that’s just been hanging out in piles for the last couple of weeks

- Watched this week’s Philosophy lecture. I don’t think my Philosophy Professor is okay (”and that’s why our world is basically so screwed” - smiling with absolutely no feeling)

- Did one of my readings for SDaR: Revitalization movements: Some theoretical considerations for their comparative study. American Anthropologist 58(2): 264–281 (and was personally attacked by one paragraph in particular but no biggie)

- Actually called the uni counsellor and got an appointment for two weeks time <-- I’m actually real proud of this one, I’ve been putting it off for three weeks, and I hate phone calls almost as much as I hate genuinely admitting that i need help

- Finally finished the second reading for SDaR: Roth, C. F. 2002. goods, names, and selves: rethinking the Tsimshian potlatch. American Ethnologist 29(1): 123–150. (this one fucking killed me, none of the words properly registered and I don’t think I took away what I was meant to but god damn I’’ve been awake since 5am and it’s nearly 8 now, my brain is mush :P)

- Checked my uni email two days in a row (this is terrifying don’t judge)

- Wrote 419 words for TDA (one of three novels I’m cycling through atm)

I think I might call this a day.

31/03 - Wednesday

Me, trying to talk myself out of going to uni: I can’t go to uni *cough* I’m sick Me, to me: Boo, you whore

- Went to my 9am Discovering Archaeology lecture

- Went to my 10am Philosophy tutorial

- Watched my SDaR lecture from week 3 because apparently I missed it lolwhoops

- Went to my 12pm Sex, Death, and Ritual tutorial for two hours. It was fun. India, Dallas and I ~bonded~, mostly over Buffy

- Actually talked to my SDaR Professor and organised to get an extension on the assignment that’s one and a half weeks overdue and she’s not even gonna take points away for being late omg she’s so nice I feel guilty ;-;

01/04 - Thursday

Had a lovely sleep-in until 9:30 :3

- Put on a load of washing

- Paid rent (I am so very very broke omg)

- Went on a long and near-pointless journey for Easter eggs, wasting my entire afternoon, while trying to coordinate with my brother and father who are so uninterested in the entire thing. Barely successful. Working with those two is like pulling teeth. Have acquired a couple of eggs from the Good Chocolate place. Will have to go on a quest to get the last two I need probably Saturday.

02/04 - Friday

Well and truly lost momentum at this point. Dicked around doing basically nothing all day. Did boot up the Evil Within in the arvo and played for a bit because I felt like giving myself a Laura-induced heart attack. It was fun :3

- Made a new gifset for The Evil Within which I haven’t done in a few weeks, so I’m considering it a win

- Made a couple of gifs for the continuation of my Evil Within chapter series, will complete that at a later date

Ordered KFC with the housemates because it’s free delivery all Easter weekend - why is this significant? Because for once, I was the devil on Ryan’s shoulder whispering at him to make bad Friday-night food choices >:3

03/04 - Saturday (it’s still part of this week, pipe down)

- Got all my washing in off the line

- Went on an early morning last-minute Easter egg run to the local shops. Way too painless. I therefore assume that I have done something horribly wrong. But for now, Easter shopping is complete, and it’s a beautiful sunny day out there, 28 degrees and it’s not even 10:30 :D

Yeah mainly football cause I grew up a Leeds United supporter (ew). The best of any sport I’ve been to watch was roller derby in Austin, that was incredible.

I was actually attempting to read out loud that cursed @amarvelousmandalorian fic to see how far I could get, but I won’t tell you which bit I got to cause I don’t wanna write it down haha

Ben & Jerrys Half Baked maybe. Idk I don’t eat a lot of ice cream

Water. Gotta stay hydrated.

Yeah. It’s super glittery and cute, but I’ve had it a couple years it’s time to replace it I reckon.

Some carrot batons cause I couldn’t be bothered to cook

Not since 2009 when we camped out somewhere near Austin I think, I’m not particularly in to camping.

At the moment kinda, my fake tan is coming off and looks patchy af. I need to sort that out before it gets warm again.

how much I’d rather be hearing a New Zealand accent haha. JK they’re fine but I don’t really have much of a reaction, I’ve lived and travelled with too many Australians at this point.

Go in but I generally try to avoid them as much as possible.

I haven’t picked up a book in forever I don’t have the energy to read eugh. I am still working through The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet and I guess the last I actually finished was The Last Wish

favorite day of the week?

Fridays, when times were normal and I was working. All days are equal now.

how do you like your coffee?

Strong, made in a cafetiere and with a dash of oat milk. If I’m ordering from a coffee shop though; cold brew or mocha

favorite pair of shoes?

I had a really nice Doc Martens collection going, and these beautiful dark purple suede docs were my highlight - but I can’t wear them anymore because of plantar fasciitis and had to get rid of them :’(

the time you normally go to sleep?

At the moment we’re looking between midnight and 4am

Very rarely before 11am. I don’t know how I’ll cope when I get sent back to work and have to get up at 5am fuck.

Sunsets. They’re beautiful and peaceful and remind me of home.

how many blankets on your bed?

just the duvet, no blankets.

Boring plain white and sort of square.

I’m a red wine girl through and through, give me a good Malbec and I’m very happy. I’m definitely getting more in to whisky every day but I’ve yet to find my absolute favourite (maybe Jura Prophecy? it is amazing)

do you play cards?

Sure but only snap ha

what color is your car?

I don’t have one.

can you change a tire?

Nope

favorite job you’ve ever had?

God I’ve had so many jobs and I really disliked the large majority of them. I wasn’t made for the kind of jobs I’ve had to take. The best one I ever had though was the first job I got in my industry that wasn’t call centre work - I wrote letters responding to hotel complaints for a bedbank. It was amazing; I got to write every day, I had the most wonderful supportive supervisor, I didn’t have to physically speak to customers just write to them. I was with that company for several years and got promoted, worked in a bunch of different departments but that job was the one I always wanted to go back to. If it wasn’t London based I’d happily return to it now.

how did you get your biggest scar?

The only scar I still have is from scraping my acrylic stiletto nail in to the skin on my knee by accident. I don’t have any big big ones.

what did you do today that made someone else happy?

Fuck all. I sent a friendly anon which I hope made the person smile, does that count?
