I started rewatching s5 and I will say the writers certainly tried with ConCade. Unfortunately, the moment they came together they were bleh. There was no chemistry, they weren't natural. It felt like it took a lot of effort for them to be a couple. They never merged. I preferred the friendship they had in s5 to whatever they ended up having in s6. It's like the idea of them was far better than the execution. The moment they got together they just went downhill. I will say I love Conrad and Cade working as the go team they work incredibly well together. Their romance however, nope try again.

Anon, that's it right there. Aside from the fact that they do not have the romantic chemistry to pull it off, there was just so much going on in there with them. You can see the effort in putting them together. You can see they TRIED to get them together. Kinda like how Conrad tried too.

Whereas with Conllie, everything felt so natural. It wasn't forced. They just fit.

I also agree that they work well together professionally especially as the go team and that's where it should have stopped. I thought the go team was an innovative storyline for Conrad and I think Cade rocked it.

And that's why I will forever love these writers and Amy(exec). You have to be able to write your characters as you go. You have to be flexible and willing to see which characters have chemistry and act on it. The thoughts or plans you have for the characters might be different when they are displayed on screen by the actors. And you have to be able to work with these different changes.

I'm slightly concerned that I haven't seen any bts photos yet including Jessica Lucas, and we already know the character of cade has been bumped up to series regular, is jessica coming back for season 6??? Am I getting my potential #billie x conrad ship!! Or has it sunk before its started?

Right lkke they had such good set up and I know we needed that time jump to move on from nics death but it fucked up their dynamic and they became close offscreen and then again btw s5 and 6 they became "bffs" and we saw nothing of it like you said its a lot of tell and very little show but also hilariously they skipped concade getting together like no first kiss no nothing their first kiss on screen was SPECIFICALLY with billie looking at them I would clawing at the walls if I shipped them although they dont have many fans bc why would they. Imma still need that 23 eps s7 to get that conradbillie relationship with a wedding in the finale please and thank you

Yeah it's missing all kinds of intimacy it's slapped together and it's going to feel like a hollow payoff when Conrad and Billie get together because it's unearned...sigh. Let's hope they fill in the gaps if not The Resident might be my next fic...

But yeah its missing it for Concade too. We never saw that moment when he crossed over from friends to lovers and it would've been interesting given the fact that Cade and Billie had that conversation at the bar and Billie used the words "not yet" to Cade about her relationship with Conrad and then Cade went home with Conrad after saying there was nothing between them. 🙃🤡🤡

And yes, I saw the trailer and I was quite surprised because, firstly, I really liked it and, secondly, there was more about Billie rather then about Cade.

Maybe the writers want to embarrass us but Conrad x Billie scene was so cute! It’s really difficult to understand from this trailer who Conrad chose. Maybe there was no choice?

However, our girl Billie doesn’t give up. Love her so damn much and wish her happiness.

That episode was everything I didn’t know I wanted or needed. Conllie content was brilliant and the little family moment at the end with Gigi. I’m so glad the pilot survived 🙏🏻 and poor Billie, you can see she’s still having trauma from the stairwell incident. Billie and Cade working side by side is something I didn’t ever think I needed/wanted but I loved it and them complimenting each other me “badass” vibe was hilarious I feel like they could really be friends instead of just coworkers

Omg that episode was everything.

I can't stop thinking about it. Billie, Conrad and Gigi together was just beautiful. It looked so normal for them. Such a beautiful family 🥰

I was so over governor Betz🙄 and happy the pilot survived.

I also liked Cade and Billie working side by side. I'm so glad there wasn't any drama with them. I could see them as friends in the future. Maybe not yet. It's still too soon. But I really want to see that cos Cade needs friends.
