It’s something they both know how to do, and yet, while watching some movie or another one night, waiting for Dazai to finish some paperwork in the study ( because Chuuya has been - in no uncertain terms - banished from the study for the night due to his propensity to, ah, distract Dazai from that boring paperwork ), he realizes it’s something they haven’t actually done together.

Having grown up in the mafia meant that they’d both learned various forms of dance in order to be able to mingle with the high-class business clients they frequently deal with, and yet… Due to their schedules as children had been quite different, they’d never taken dancing lessons at the same time. Even so, he was certain that Dazai knew how to do it - Mori wouldn’t have let such an important skill be missed, even if Dazai hated it - and so Chuuya supposes he will have to remedy that situation immediately. Dazai probably doesn’t even like dancing, and is probably tired, but… The second Chuuya hears him moving, he puts on some soft music, and when Dazai looks over at him, curious, from the door of the study, Chuuya holds out a hand in gesture, smiling warmly.

“Come here for a few minutes.”

And he can tell Dazai is somewhat suspicious - curious, rather; it’s not a bad look on his face - of the music, but he approaches anyway, and Chuuya slides their hands together, giving Dazai the role of the lead. It’s likely more natural to him that way, considering they’d both - presumably - learned with Elise as their partner. He slides his other hand up to rest on Dazai’s arm, pleased to feel Dazai’s free hand curl around his waist to land on his back, and so he moves them to the center of the room, resting his head against Dazai’s shoulder as they start to move slowly. 

It’s just a simple waltz, nothing complicated, but it’s really not about the dance at all; it’s about the indulgence and the closeness and just… The peace between them right now, the domesticity they never thought they’d have, being able to spend time like this dancing, of all things, despite all the bloodshed and chaos in their lives. He knows Dazai is tired, and he has every intention of dragging them to bed after this, he’d just… Felt the need to do this, and the fact that Dazai had obliged - had seemed quietly pleased, even, despite Chuuya’s thought that maybe he hates dancing ( or maybe he only doesn’t hate it because it’s Chuuya ) - has his heart swelling with affection as it does so often. 

This peace and quiet, the affection warming his chest and filling his lungs, is more than he’d ever deserved. Dazai is more than he ever deserved, and yet Chuuya won’t give him up for the world.

Once the song draws to an end, Chuuya allows a few extra steps before they slow to a stop, then tilts his head up to give Dazai a soft, loving kiss. “… I love you, Osamu.” He’s sure they both know that already, of course, but still. “Thanks for indulging me. Now let’s get you to bed.”

Hi, congrats on 300! Can I have a matchup please? At first glance, I seem very cold and/or very angry. I’m very introverted, rather stubborn, have a nasty temper at times, and get snappy easily. I’m not necessarily a patient person but I am an understanding and open minded one. I try to choose kindness over all. I really like writing, reading, and editing! I’ll probably write sappy proses for them as well as make playlists and edit things for and about them. ✧ okay, so hear me out; you remind me a lot of iwaizumi, and we know for a fact that those two are quite close. so, it’d figure that oikawa would get along well with you, two; and hopefully, i can convince you that you guys would be really cute 

✧ at first, oikawa would see your coldness and your introversion as intriguing; he likes being the centre of attention, so anyone who isn’t fawning over him tends to catch is attention. it’s not so much that he thinks you’re “hard to get”, it’s more that he,,, wants to know why you’re not very interested in him. 

✧ honestly, he waves off your temper and snappiness quite easily because he’s used to iwaizumi being tough on him. he probably doesn’t even see you as being all that angry or anything; in his eyes, you’re just passionate.  

✧ he’s the sort of person who just,,, brings out the best in the people around him, you know?? he’s very good at identifying your strengths, and he’s always reminding you of them. although, i do love the concept of you guys having the “someone will die.” “of fun!” vibe going--

✧ he appreciates your understanding and open-minded nature, and he notices how you choose kindness over all else. he thinks it’s so cute, and he’s glad that you’re adding that kind of positivity to the world. 

✧ he also admires how you try to help the people you care about as much as you can. he thinks that’s very wholesome of you, and it’s something he wishes he emulated a bit more himself. he’s a people person, so he gets it; and, once again, he’s glad you’re bringing some light into the world.  

✧ give him some sappy prose and he’ll cry. will listen to nothing but the playlists you’ve made for him. i’m serious; express your affection for him in any way and he’s overwhelmed. he’ll try and pay you back with an absurd amount of physical affection (if you’re comfortable with that) and compliments. 

✧ he adores the fact that you’re witty, and you two are always making each other laugh. oikawa’s pretty clever (most of the time) so i’m sure he can keep up with your dry sense of humour, but he’s also going to snort at quite a few of your dad jokes. it does iwaizumi’s head in. 

✧ he teases you all the time, though; for being 4′9″ (even though he thinks it’s unbearably cute), for making dad jokes (even though he laughs at them most of the time), for being interested in amphibians (there’s no reason for him to make fun of you for it, he just enjoys making frog noises), etc. he just wants to get a rise out of you skljdsjl

✧ overall, i just think you two would be so cute together!! just get ready for him to be the sappiest partner you can imagine--

✧ sawamura daichi: he’s got the patience to balance you out a bit, but you’re both very understanding, loyal and kind. i think daichi would really value those three traits in a partner, and would be drawn to you because of them. i think you’d have a great rapport with one another, and you’d end up having the sort of friendship that lends itself naturally to romance?? also, he’d appreciate anything sappy you made for him (man’s a romantic at heart, he lives for this sort of stuff), and he’d try and return the favour in gifts. he’ll be a little sheepish about the fact they’re not homemade, but he’s trying. 

✧ iwaizumi hajime: you two seem quite similar to me, so i think you’d understand each other very well!! i think iwaizumi is frequently misunderstood, so having a like-minded partner would be a breath of fresh air. i think he’d really love your sense of humour, since i reckon he shares it; oikawa does his best to put up with how relentlessly sarcastic you two are, to no avail. but at the same time, iwaizumi certainly values your kindness and your outlook on life. you make him really soft, and while he’s not super expressive, he does love and appreciate the things you make for him. he holds them close to his heart.
