IG Holiday Highlights & More!

Here are some of our recent IG Highlights from the Holidays, Winter Smash, #MHTVNews, #makermondaycrafternoon, and our MHMS Memory Book Cover artist winner!

Now, most of our kids love, I mean LOVE getting their pics taken for our Instagram. But some are a little shy - this is an example! But I showed these pics to her Mom, and she LOVED them and gave me permission to post! Hee hee hee. Don't worry, my sporty friend here is really super outgoing!

Want to give a huge shout out to Russell Bastien, our Superintendent and his staff for doing a great job on the course. I have never seen our greens look this good. Their hard work and dedication is paying off and if you see them on the course, please give them a huge thanks. This summer has been very challenging with issues with the water pump and the heat and humidity. The course looks great…

JUNIOR TOURNAMENT

Thanks to everyone who came out for this year’s Junior Tournament on Tuesday Jul 18. It was a hot and humid day for the juniors to test their skills in the 9-hole tournament. It all started 6 weeks ago with around 25 to 30 kids showing up each Tuesday for the junior clinic and 20 kids competing in the Junior Tournament. Again thanks to all the kids and their parents. I look forward to seeing you kids on the course over the summer and really look forward to doing this again next year and watching you all get better and better. And finally want to give a special shout out to Kelli Eagen and Brad McClatchey for helping with the clinic. The winners of Junior Tournament are listed below. Awards will be presented to the Juniors at this year’s Awards Banquet.

Girls group – Heather Fitzpatrick 61, Sophie Ackerman 67

Boys ages 11 to 12 – Brody McClatchey 46, Brecken Berg 47, Jack Welch 52

Boys ages 13 to 15 – Ben Welch 41, Cooper DeWolf 47, Johnny Welter 52

MEN’S MATCH PLAY

Anton Yost beat Tyson Widler 2 to 1 on Sunday July 23 to become this year’s John Hopp Men’s Match Play Champion. It was an exciting match to watch as Anton won it on the 17th hole. Congrats to Anton for winning and also to Tyson for being this year’s runner-up. Thanks to all who played in this year’s competition. This event keeps getting bigger each year and I look forward to next years Match Play Championship.

LADIES MATCH PLAY

The Ladies Match Play continues this Sunday Jul 30. We are down to 4 players. Carla Dunton vs Nicolette Walk and Martha Jenkins vs Rose King. Carla Dunton won 1 up against Jean Ackerman on the 2nd playoff hole and Martha Jenkins won 2-1 against Bekki Koenig on Sunday. Rose King won 2-1 against Liz Rodis on Saturday and Nicolette Walk won 3-1 against Kathleen Wright last Friday.

The Ladies Invitational is Saturday Aug 5 at 9:00am. We are still looking for volunteers to help out. If you would like to help please contact Troy Ackerman or Jon Eagen. We are also looking for donations for raffle prizes. Please contact Jean Ackerman or Kelli Eagen if you would like to donate any items for the raffle prizes. Your help is greatly appreciated. This is always and great tournament and a fun filled day.

The Monday morning Senior League continues every Monday at 9:00. Any Senior wanting to play please meet at the club house every Monday morning, weather permitting.

Not only can you book your tee time online, but you can view all the upcoming events for the season in the events Club Calendar. You can view our menu, order gift certificate’s from our online shop and keep up-to-date with the latest golfing news with my online news blog. It even links you to our Facebook and Twitter pages. So please take a few minutes to check it out and add to your favorites list.

Come take advantage of our UNLIMITED GOLF SPECIAL. The $24.50 golf package includes all your golf, cart rental and a cold sandwich with chips and is available Monday – Friday. However due to changes with our lunch schedule the $29.50 package that includes golf, cart rental and a hot lunch from Fairways Restaurant will only be available on Fridays. Please note this golf special does not include weekends or holidays and all golfers must stop playing at 4:00. This allow us time to get setup and ready for the evening leagues.

UPCOMING EVENTS

We will be having a Conceal and Carry gun class on Sunday July 30. Registration begins at 8:00 am and the class starts at 8:30 am and is schedules to run until 4:30. The cost of the course is $100 per person. Payment can be made via PayPal using https://www.paypal.me/thetribe?locale.x=en_US&country.x=US. Please use the friends and friends function or add 3.5% for the fees. Please include the name of who is attending the class in the notes section. You can bring the range fee with you the day of the class or you can include it in the PayPal payment. If you have an issue with PayPal or don’t have an account account you can mail payment to the address below. To reserve your seat, please make sure payment is made prior to July 23. There is a class enrollment minimum, so if there isn’t enough people paid by July 23, the class is subject to be cancelled. If the class is cancelled for any reason, a full refund will be given, less any fees from PayPal. You will need to bring a firearm of any caliber with a holster that can be concealed. We recommend a belt holster on the outside of the pants and a jacket or button down shirt to conceal the gun. Most of the qualification is drawing from concealment, but there are no time limits. Please do not bring any ammunition into the classroom portion; you may, however, bring an unloaded and cased weapon if you would like. Training material and handouts will be provided for the classroom portion. Also, you will need range protective gear as well. Eye protection and ear protection is required. 100 rounds of manufactured practice ammunition should suffice. Officer Brian Hayes will be the instructor. Would like to thank the Conestoga Booster Club for having their annual golf outing on Sunday. Although it was hot day and windy day, it did not stop the 64 golfers from having a great time. Congrats to the winning team of Larry Welch, Jay Priefert, Brad McClatchey and myself for shooting a smooth 54. Would also like to thank Jeff Henry Motors for sponsoring the hole-in-one hole and giving everyone a chance at winning a brand new pickup truck. And thanks to all who came out to play and support the Booster Club. Look forward to hosting this tournament again next year.

The Junior Clinic continues this Tuesday Jun 12, at 11:00 am and runs every Tuesday until Jul 11. The clinic is free and is open to all juniors. The clinic will cover golf etiquette, rules, chipping, putting and driving. And mark your calendars for Tuesday Jul 18 when you can put your skills to work and play in the Junior Tournament.

PLATTSMOUTH LIONS CLUB 4-PERSON SCRAMBLE

We still have openings for the Plattsmouth Lions Club 18 hole 4-person scramble on Saturday Jun 17. Shot gun start at 8:30. Please sign up in the pro shop or call for more details. This is always a great event so please get a team together and help support the Plattsmouth Lions Club.

FATHERS DAY 2-PERSON SCRAMBLE

We still have openings for the annual Father’s Day 9 hole 2-person scramble on Sunday Jun 18. Shot gun start at 2:00. Please sign up in the pro shop or call for more details. Cost is $40 for a members team and $60 for guest team. Cost includes food and flag prizes. This is always a fun event and a great way to bond with your dad on his special day.

MEN’S MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

This year’s Men’s Match Play Championship starts Sunday Jun 25. All participants must have a Men’s League handicap with a minimum of 5 rounds played. There is a sign-up sheet located in the pro shop. The drawing for Round 1 will be held Wednesday Jun 21 after Men’s League.
