Conversations after the Confusion Na Wa screening for a private, esteemed audience seemed to feature one word prominently, and frequently: 'Brilliant.'

Where these conversations describing the film? Or perhaps, the event itself?

Hint: Both.

It was the first public screening of the African Movie Award (AMAA) winning film. A film about collisions, it chronicles six lives colliding and the stories of these lives overlapping in a day: old world machismo collides with modern ambiguous notions of masculinity when an overbearing father has suspicions of his sons' concept of morality; innocence and corruption collide in the home of an hardworking, if feckless, man and his adulterous wife.

Sometimes the collisions are literal: a stone smashes the rear windshield of a vehicle, a car is broken into, a rock is hurled at a fleeing man, a girl is raped.

Above all, Confusion Na Wa is a meditation on the random, unjust collision between chaos and order in Nigeria, and in life.

This was a private screening; a wider audience would see the film on 1st October, 2013, closing day of the Lights, Camera, Africa Film Festival.

Films are screened for free every single day. And everyone is invited.

Based on the success of the private screening, we get the feeling 'brilliant' would dominate daily discussions.
