Part of her wants to slam his head into the wall or run her blade teasingly along the expanse of his throat. But she was trying to be good. For her sisters, more than herself. Diana might not care about actively causing mischief or harm but she WAS a pirate. She’d never be able to play by Auradon rules, no matter what Yen Sid said.

So he holds back, only groaning in frustration, hand running through tangled brown locks. “Forget it. I mean, pay for it if you want, but it’s not like it’ll get fixed tonight. Grand-Mere will just blame my crew of filthy, despicable scoundrels and say I’m a disappointment to my noble blood. You know. Typical Saturday night.”

She takes a seat, draping her coat over the seat beside her, to save it for Delilah. She doesn’t spare the demi-god a glance while she works on polishing her sword. “Daph’s not coming today. Grand-Mere stuck her and Dizzy on dye shop duty and she can’t sneak away.” She finally does look up, a cheeky smirk tugging at her lips. “What? You think I haven’t noticed the way you stare at my sister?”

“Do you really think I’m interested in what you have to say Hadie? I’m busy.” The daughter of the Shadowman looked up at him over the tarot cards spread out in front of her. They didn’t work here on the isle. But her father still insisted that she practice with them every day. But she already planned that if she got off this Isle, that she wouldn’t be using the spirits for evil like her father. Perhaps that why she joined Yen Sid’s club.

It’s no question who her soulmate is. Not like there aren’t PLENTY of people on the Isle upset with Hades - when half of the Isle’s inhabitants are RESURRECTED from the dead with the god of the Underworld at their doorstep, it just makes sense to be upset.

But she recognizes his voice. She probably would’ve recognized the insults thrown at Hades even if they HADN’T reunited in the Anti-Hero Club - the working title; it was Yen Sid’s idea. She feels...a little unsure. Not that she doesn’t like Hadie, she likes him fine. But the triplets all know about whatever it was that happened between the young god and their cousin. And besides, until recently, she and Hadie hadn’t spoken much since they were children.

So she lets him grumble, focusing on sweeping the dye shop and keeping her thoughts at bay. Had he already hear her? He made no indication that he had.

There’s a lull and Daphne takes her chance, before she’s even aware of it. “Hi Hadie,” she says and she wasn’t aware it was possible for her thoughts to sound SHEEPISH and EMBARASSED like this. “Rough day with dear old Dad?”

She jumps. Definitely not a good sign that she’s tough enough to walk alone in this area of the Isle. Still, it’s only Hadie that emerges from the shadows so the step-granddaughter takes a breath to calm herself. “Just delivering a package to Diana and Harriet. The three of us spent all day fixing the sail for the Silver Serpent and of course, Di rushes off to the ship without remembering to grab it. And Delilah’s got an appointment at the shop so…here I am.”

She chuckles almost nervously, the bundle of cloth bunched in her arms. “What’re you doing out?”

He’s been hanging around the shop more and more since the club had been formed. Daphne certainly hadn’t have expected this as a result of joining the secret club of Anti-Heroes but she’d be lying if she said she wasn’t happy about it. Hadie was...not at all what she had first expected.

Given by the way he was grinning more than she’d ever seen, just at the sight of her kitten. Daphne bits her lip to keep her smile from overtaking her face. “Damien,” she answers, moving a hand to scratch behind the kitten’s ears. “He must like you. He’s not always great with new people.”
