Kabru Dungeonmeshi would absolutely love reality TV. He would be so unbelievably desperate to get on any reality TV show, and then create so much unnecessary drama once he got there. Producers don’t even have to manipulate him into stirring shit, he just does it for fun, and his confessionals are absolutely unhinged play-by-plays about the meticulous social engineering he employed to make sure someone he disliked was voted off that week.

This is my official petition for the producers of Drive to Survive to add reality tv show style confessionals.

I need to see the drivers spilling tea and complaining about each other like they’re on the Real Housewives of the Paddock.

Ahhhh I’m screaming like!!! Yes literally. I imagine the crew was setting out to make some sort of documentary about 80s youth culture (I mean imagine; it’s the era of satanic panic and d.a.r.e. and stranger danger and so on, parents think MTV is turning their kids into gay junkie satanists or whatever) and instead they get. Karate. And this indie crew just decides to go with it bc it’s too wild not to.

(Documentary crew when Daniel literally gets run off the road on his bike: Woah did you get that?)

Then in the future when Daniel finds out Johnny’s trying to make a sequel he’s like “oh christ not these guys again” (I assume by the end of it in 1984 he wouldn’t feel too kindly about the crew) but then he gets sucked into being in the sequel anyway bc he can’t stand the thought that Johnny’s perspective on things is going unchallenged, he HAS to be able to give his opinion too

Rehearsal tapes are making think about tkk but it’s done in a mockumentary style. Which is a v funny concept to me bc first of all imagine the confessionals; the crew always has to cut Daniel off bc he’ll literally just keep talking until you tell him to stop. Meanwhile they can’t get Johnny to say sentences longer than three words.

Secondly; there’s an implication that the documentary crew just stands there and doesn’t do anything whenever Daniel gets beat up. Like. They can’t interfere so they just have to watch a teenager get the shit kicked out of him.
