I finished reading Conclave (the novel) and I loved it â you're right about it being a perfect adaptation. Most of the changes made do make sense â yes, Lomeli and Bellini are supposed to be Italian, but also uhhhâŚyou want to get Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci in your movie. (It is funny that Bellini is from the US in the movie, when it's so significant that he's Italian in the book â especially since the big thing that the Canadian Tremblay had going for him was that he was North American without being âAmerican.â) I also appreciate how the book just fleshed out the story more â like, it made sense that Benitez had support from his fellow Filipino cardinals going in. And how we learned more about Sister Shanumi! I have so much to say about Shanumi, I should just make a post about her. But anyway, I'm so glad you got me interested in this awesome movie, it's just an absolute delight! (I mean, you generally have fantastic taste, so I'm not surprised)
it really is such a good, entertaining book, and isn't the movie a near flawless adaptation? like, maybe it's because i watched it first before reading (cause god knowssss i can be so annoying about my fav books being adapted to the big screen), but i thought they did a fantastic job of telling the story as faithfully as possible, and using the visual medium to its advantage.
yeah, i think the nationality changes from book to movie totally make sense and are a small price to pay for such a skilled cast (thinking about it from a business perspective, of course the italian lomeli had to be switched to an english-speaking lawrence cause you want a Well Known Actor to bring in the Money and Audience, but like...we got ralph fiennes, is anyone gonna object to that?! and then with benitez being mexican now, i just think they found carlos diehz and were like "bro that's it. that's literally him holy shit", and yeah. that's literally him).
i do enjoy the book a lot as well, though. like you said, it has a lot more liberty to go into more detail (also, totally canonically bi lomeli YAY) but as someone who loves both reading and watching movies, having both a fantastic book i can reread AND a banging movie i can rewatch is like heaven!
#oughggh im so glad you liked it!! sincerely i love when someone gets into something because of me#i love giving reccs! so im happy this one hit home for you#anyway YAY CONCLAVE i love this movie/book so much#juli answers#conclave

2024 top hits
good media, would consume again
where the two flowers meet
an unexpectedly poignant visual novel with a lot of engrossing twists and turns. I really like stories where characters are driven to near-madness by grief; it's such an enormous emotion. currently pay what you want on itch.io.
charisma house
a multimedia project with wonderfully idiosyncratic characters and a main story posted to youtube in the form of short videos. also funny as hell which isn't a surprise considering the main writer also worked on gintama. my music taste is poisoned bc of these joseimuke projects but I loved the songs too
we don't know ourselves: a personal history of modern ireland
extremely readable and honestly hard to put down even though it usually takes me forever to read longer nonfiction books. also im kind of a weeaboo for ireland. loved the "personal history" format, which contextualized events in the author's life with concurrent political and social developments in ireland.
dungeon meshi
it's so lovely to encounter female characters like marcille, falin, and izutsumi (among others.) it also feels so validating and nice to see a complex central character of south asian descent in kabru. a very warm and kind story and I'm looking forward to season 2 of the anime...
honkai star rail 2.1 main story patch: "into the yawning chasm"
specifically, the story mission "all the sad tales" did it for me -- there is a video of me crying while playing through that part lol. playing from the pov of a character slowly having his mind broken as you progressively confront the emotional scars in his past, chasing his child-self through a warped landscape -- yup, sequences like these are why video games are one of my favorite storytelling mediums. which I did not think I'd ever say in reference to a gacha game...
detective conan anime
I've been watching episodes of this like every day lmao so I had to include it... endlessly watchable and comforting in its formulaicity. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the other central characters soon...
birth of kitaro: the mystery of gegege
idk anything about the source material but this was very captivating as a stand-alone nonetheless. a beautiful horror story... I need to rewatch it
the uses of literacy
I randomly picked up a used copy of this in a bookstore when I was vacationing in another country and found it to be really applicable to current culture and how people interact with media today, despite being written in 1957 and focusing specifically on the British working class.
tashiro-kun, why're you like this?
I have nothing insightful to say about this bl manga rn but it's genuinely so uplifting and funny and sweet lol
movie honorable mentions: conclave, lawrence of arabia, drive-away dolls, challengers

I think I've seen you talk about Xrd's inconsistent timeline but man, stuff is a bit. Wow. Currently copying down all of the Conclave's lines, and there's inconsistencies with what they talk about at what time.
In the Sign Arcade Mode, there's an identical scene, but held on different days. In Slayer's, they discuss Zato's revival on Oct 1. But in Zato's, they discuss the same thing on Sept 30.
Not to mention the repeated scene of them saying "things are going all according to plan and we just have to wait for the Cradle to start", (the second time you time you see them in a particular arcade mode) happens on drastically different days, and I haven't finished going through all of it.
In Slayer's it's Oct 5, Millia's Oct 12, Sol/Ky is on Oct 25.
This doesn't really matter to anyone ever. But it kinda matters to me because this timeline of the Conclave's scheming is wack. How frequently are they holding these meetings, and which ones are them actually discussing which stuff? Ough.
That's all from me. Just airing my woes here.
To be fair, Xrd's cutscenes were basically all done on a shoestring budget back in the day.
It's nothing like what they can do now via outsourcing and various other studios who can work their Magic on the latest Unreal Engine.
The timeline inconsistency was very real, however... and I think part of the problem lay in the fact they had different staff working on different scenes and not everything was properly communicated to everyone to BE consistent.
Also, Revelator's production was several times higher than Xrd Sign's, so many cutscenes went from talking heads to actual animated gestures.
This certainly beats the "visual novel maze" of older games of yesteryear... back when players didn't know how to get all the endings (some of which were SO SECRET you had to read a guide on GameFAQs just to figure out how to catch certain passages of dialogue).
And let's not forget the superbosses you could accidentally run in to if you chose the wrong route in the story... yeah, those didn't exactly go over well with beginner players who just wanted to enjoy the story.
If it were up to me, I'd remaster all the cutscenes and give them a proper timestamp and order of things.
Far as I know though, Bedman attacked Slayer's subordinate in early September, leading up to Ramlethal's War Declaration in October, with Elphelt getting kidnapped in November of 2187.
Strive apparently takes place sometime the following year in 2188, but that's the extent of what we know since they stopped using Date Stamps altogether.

how much psychic damage do you think I could deal to my dad if I told him that conclave has a visual novel romance game coming out
#I would love to shatter his worldview even more than I already have#think I got him a little bit when he came to me like 'squid game makes no sense' and then we had like an hour long texting conversation#about it. it was wild. but this would devistate him even further

Movies I Liked in 2024
Every year I reflect on the pop culture I enjoyed and put it in some sort of order.
2024 was an interesting movie year â due to the aftermath of the prior yearâs actors and writers strikes, it featured a mix of finished films held over from 2023 and smaller independent features with shorter production timelines, meaning the release schedule was kind of all over the place. There wasnât anything close to the cultural impact of âBarbenheimerâ but there were a lot of good (and even great) films throughout the year. In fact, for the first time (I think?), Iâm featuring a ranked âTop 15â rather than a âTop 10â and have a few more Honorable Mentions on top of that.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/46c1a5cff82d859771ca559fc3726c09/7fb7b6181c1b1dce-34/s540x810/89321e82a914c22918521632153ef4d472bdfd3a.jpg)
15. Rebel Ridge (Netflix)
A winning twist on the âone man versus the systemâ action subgenre, Rebel Ridge is maybe the most overtly entertaining message movie of the year. The film tackles racial profiling, police corruption and abuse of power with a commanding lead performance by Aaron Pierre and great supporting turns by Don Johnson and AnnaSofia Robb. Itâs a shame its Netflix distribution means it didnât get a proper theatrical release because this would be gangbusters on the big screen.
14. Monkey Man (Blu-ray, VOD, Prime Video)
Iâm not the biggest fan of revenge and/or fighting filmsânor do I have robust cultural knowledge of the Eastern mythology this story draws fromâbut the verve and visual flair of Dev Patelâs assured filmmaking debut kept me rapt through all of Monkey Manâs journey.
13. The Brutalist (Theatres)
Iâm of two minds about Brady Corbetâs AMERICAN OPUS: on the one hand, itâs one of the least subtle films of the year and owes a lot to other epics from the likes of PT Anderson, Scorsese and Nolan (and that doesnât even touch on the recently reported AI controversies which seem in opposition to the underlying message of the film); on the other, itâs undeniably compelling, visually striking and feels like the EVENT its 3-hour-and-35-minute running time (including 15-min Intermission) and VistaVision cinematography promise. Worth seeing; not in my Top 10.
12. Conclave (Blu-ray, VOD, Peacock)
The movie equivalent of a great airport novel (which is essentially what this is based on, though I havenât personally read it yet), Conclave is a riveting drama of political intrigue set in the Vatican during the selection of a new Pope. The performances, direction and score all combine to elevate the material to its optimal heights.
11. A Real Pain (Blu-ray, VOD, Hulu)
The forced intimacy of travel, especially international travel, can strain any relationship, but it has an even greater opportunity to fray every last raw nerve when your companion is in many ways your polar opposite. Writer/Director/Star Jesse Eisenbergâs astutely observed portrait of two very different cousins retracing their family history in Poland is by turns wonderfully funny, full of life and incredibly stressful. While odd couple narratives are nothing new, Eisenberg and Kieren Culkin excel in their roles here, bringing humanity and empathy to both characters, who could each stand to benefit from the otherâs influence.
10. Blitz (AppleTV+)
Steve McQueenâs World War II-set drama takes the form of an episodic adventure that follows a young mixed-race boy trying to return to his mother in London during the Blitz and her experiences there during said bombing raids. Centering its narrative around a child makes its immediacy feel remarkably visceral and its heightened/raw reality feel emotionally true. Iâm very glad I made the decision to get out to see it on the big screen during its small theatrical run. One of the most moving films of the year.
9. A Different Man (VOD, Max)
So bitterly funny with so many layers, A Different Man is an acid satire of identity and self-loathing with pitch-perfect performances from Sebastian Stan and Adam Pearson. While The Substance appears to have stolen the spotlight for heightened allegories about appearance, this film worked far more consistently and effectively for me, walking a knifeâs edge of tone that I ultimately found wholly satisfying.
8. Hit Man (Netflix)
Very loosely inspired by a true story, Richard Linklaterâs Hit Man deconstructs the contract killer genre to hilarious effect while also telling an engaging â and rousing â love story built on the indelible charisma of leads Glen Powell and Adria Arjona. Iâm not sure Iâm fully on-board with the filmâs conclusion but it at least has the capacity to spark discussion, showing it has more on its mind than most rom-com and/or crime thriller fare.
5. (tie) Jim Henson: Idea Man (Disney+), Eno (Special Theatrical Screenings, 24-hour livestream 1/24), Butterfly In The Sky (VOD, Netflix)
Three excellent and endlessly inspiring Documentaries about creativity and process tie for my next three spots.
Ron Howard crafts a beautiful tribute to a creative genius and true visionary in Jim Henson: Idea Man through a mix of new and archival interviews as well as a trove of behind-the-scenes footage. There are some moments of filmmaking novelty but for the most part, Howard lets the content speak for itself. I could watch a million more hours of this.
Speaking of watching a million hours of content, that theoretically could be possible with Eno, the biopic of musician/producer/artist Brian Eno from director Gary Huswit (Helvetica, Rams) in which a bespoke algorithm pulls from a database of hundreds of hours of video to generate a new version of the film for every screening. I saw two different editions in two different cities this year and the underlying structure is incredibly sound, allowing for the archival footage pulled by the program to interact with contemporary interviews in a way that the brain will find connections between even if somewhat unintentional. I was (and maybe still am) skeptical of the nature of this piece but have found it to be incredibly inspiring and very well curated.
Finally, Butterfly In The Sky tells the story of childhood public television staple Reading Rainbow (and by extension, that of host Lavar Burton) in a film that makes an excellent companion to 2021âs Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street. Hearing from the creators of the program is a window into altruistic passion for children and education, and it provides a beautiful testament to the important of public funding for the arts.
4. I Saw the TV Glow (Blu-ray, VOD, Max)
As a 90s kid whose adolescence was full of Goosebumps books and an obsession with the X-Files (plus Are You Afraid of the Dark? whenever we visited grandparents and had access to cable), I find the fluorescent-tinged VHS tape aesthetic of I Saw The TV Glow immaculate. With vibes upon vibes and a continuous succession of haunting and arresting images, the film puts a Millennial spin on Lynchian dream logic as it investigates nostalgia, memory, media consumption and identity/gender dysphoria. One of the most visually striking & captivating films of the year, with an unnervingly ambiguous ending that deserves all the style points.
3. Sing Sing (Theatres)
A testament to the humanizing power of the arts, Sing Sing ups the ante on standard âbased on a true storyâ fare by starring many of the actual former inmates who went through the eponymous prisonâs theatre program. Colman Domingo shines as the filmâs beating heart and Clarence âDivine Eyeâ Maclin plays himself to transformative effect. In a country that seems to have ceded its judicial system to punitive rather than rehabilitative justice, this film offers proof that the latter is a far more effective and humane path.
2. Dune: Part Two (Blu-ray, VOD, Max, Netflix)
Truly epic in scale and scope, the continuationâand superior evolutionâof Denis Villeneuveâs adaptation of the first Dune novel is a feast for the senses and Pure Cinema. That it manages to be accessible and relentlessly entertaining while still idiosyncratic and esoteric is something of a minor miracle (compare to the incredibly bureaucratic, dry and inert HBO prequel series Dune: Prophecy to see how easily it could have gone wrong). As a fantastically realized interrogation and deconstruction of the heroâs journey / âchosen oneâ narrative, the film reveals power and destructive violence as the death knells of idealism and honor.
1. Nickel Boys (Theatres)
A visionary work of literary adaptation, RaMell Rossâ Nickel Boys puts the audience inside Colson Whiteheadâs incredible novel through a stunning filmmaking conceit. Malickian in its immersive Impressionism, the film combines deft use of first-person perspective (note the times the POV shifts âout of bodyâ) with equally adroit use of metaphoric archival footage. It all adds up to a deeply moving exploration of the trauma caused by systemic exploitation & brutality and the search for ways to confront, survive and transcend it. Simply stellar filmmaking.
Bonus! Honorable Mentions:
A Quiet Place: Day One (Blu-ray, VOD, Paramount+, Prime Video) â A surprisingly moving and, at times, even beautiful prequel that ends up being the best of its series
Civil War (Blu-ray, VOD, Max) â Alex Garlandâs most accomplished directorial effort to date is a visceral and all-too-believable portrait of journalistic courage in a country that has abandoned its ideals
Challengers (Blu-ray, VOD, Prime Video) â Engaging and energetic as hell; even if you see the {ahem} climax coming a mile away, itâs still incredibly satisfying
Perfect Days (Blu-ray, VOD, hulu) â (2023 holdover) A lovely meditation on finding joy and wonder in the mundanity of life that proves director Wim Wenders is as vital now as heâs ever been
One Life (Blu-ray, VOD, Showtime) â (2023 holdover) A deeply felt portrait of the impact that can be made by even a small and committed few against forces of tyranny in the world

I wouldn't dedicate my whole life to making a fuck ass 'dating' (in air quotes bc I'm aroace and weird about my feelings) sim with my family + the guys from Bleach I care about.
But if I were to get news I would be living for like. 300 years. Might spend 50 of those years making it. And yes I would suspect it'd take that long. (Learning how to code, learning music, alongside writing and art.) That's 12 characters and 6 more that may be shorter? (Bleach characters being the ones with shorter stories)
The fun thing about this dating sim is that you're specifically playing as UG. Yes there's only like 3 options that can actually lead to sex btw. I said 'dating' sim. Because both my problems and also it's UG. Sorry hypothetical player of mine game.
I think making it a reader insert would be.. too troublesome.... Scratches head... Or it could just be me but the game is like "haha let's pretend this is you. But this is the creator actually."
I like reader inserts more than Y/N when labelled bc typically Y/N means it's gonna tell you "hey! Insert your name here!" And I have issues with my identity and also ermm I have No Name Actually. âď¸
Anyway. In this hypothetical dating sim. The characters would have difficulty and lethality labels. Difficulty is how hard it is to swoon them over. Lethality is how much. They could be a danger to you. (Either intentionally, like killing you, or the type of work and life they live could be dangerous in general.)
So. E.g. Conclave has high (maybe very high) lethality. Axus, Baldias, and Chronus have a difficulty of Very High. Whilst Libraria has a difficulty of High. YK. She's a bit easier to swoon.
If you pick Kon / Kai , difficulty would be Low and lethality would be Mild.
Yea there's gonna be a lot of game overs. So sorry if you pick Nnoi-chan or Ariels or. Well. A lot of them are kinda lethal. Whoops.
I'm imagining at least two mini games,,,
A rhythm game for you to dance with your partner. Because I like rhythm games. Miss too many notes and that means you Suck At Dancing. đ Extra difficult with Kenpachi and Nnoitra. (The way that they battle may be simple but I'd like to imagine it can somewhat transfer into dancing skills)
And also a tea making one. You'd have a journal with you (that you can choose to either have it fill in automatically or you type yourself the info) of what they like, and you figure out how'd they like their tea. Extra difficult if you choose Conclave. (Because obviously.) (Special scenes with Conclave if you fuck their tea up really badly :] )
I have no clue what the end point would be honestly,, I just want to be with my beloveds in a visual novel thing... Have CGs of them being happy with me...
I also really want to be murdered or get murdered multiple times. These bitches are probably gonna hate me. And kill me.
#long post#hypothetical 'dating' sim#<- that's the tag if i ever make another post like this furthering it.#ah rambling

how long do you suspect the gameplay time to be? đ i know this is a fan project so of course we cant expect too much, but i would love to dive into your game for hours and hours â¤ď¸
According to our beta testers and our own playthroughs, a single run through takes anywhere from 2.5-3 hours. This will likely increase slightly as we continue to add visual effects behind the scenes.
Given that there are 4 possible endings per character, and maybe some secret endings too, Iâd expect it to take anywhere from 5-10 hours to 100% the game:
the shorter length if you skip through scenes youâve already done to just make different choices the second/third/fourth time around, the long length reading through everything every run through.
In total thereâs over 70k words of âNovelâ to this visual novel!! Hope thatâs helpful! We cannot wait for you to play!

YOU WERE A BORGIAS FAN?! I only watched a few episodes for the visuals, I loved the color schemes and the gowns that Lucrezia wore
I love period drama, mob movies, and familial dysfunction so like. Yeah. I agree it was visually STUNNING and had a lot of amazing performances as well, and it was my gateway drug into Borgias media as a wholeâmy personal favorites are actually Sarah Dunantâs novels and the movie The Conclave but I have a lot of nostalgia and love for the showtime series too.

DA Question
Tagged by: nobody, I just wanted to play
Tagging: @gremlinquisitorâ because I havenât seen you do it yet
01) Favorite game of the series?
Inquisition, hands down.Â
02) How did you discover Dragon Age?
Fun story, I first played Origins somewhere between seven and nine years and never got my Brosca out of Orzammar. It was on PC and I just couldnât get used to the controls. Then I made a friend who is a hardcore Bioware fan. Xe got me invested in Mass Effect first and I marathoned all three games (almost, I havenât actually finished me3) then got stubborn and refused to play Dragon Age, but xe sent me Origins and I had no reason not to at that point. I still held out till this past summer, but once I started I never looked back.
03) How many times youâve played the games?
Iâm on my second Origins playthough, DA2 only once so far, and uhhhh technically Iâve only finished DAI once but I have three other playthroughs I intend to see through to the end.
04) Favorite race to play as?
I love dwarves, oh my god. There was never a question that my first Warden would be a dwarf, and I only waited as long as I did for a dwarf in Inquisition because I donât like the Cadash origin. Bring back my Orzammar dwarves!
05) Favorite class?
Warrior, always. I have a couple of mages and enjoy them, but I am a warrior player at heart always, my first protag will always be a warrior, and I tend to love warrior characters too.
06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?Â
So far in Origins, my choices have been largely the same, though I think Iâll try to save Conner this time. I have a Hawke right now who Iâm trying to play as red but itâs SO HARD, I just like being nice to people and making friends! So far many of my Inquisition choices have been the same, except for romances, but Varevas is going to drink from the Well where Ghilanel let Morrigan do it, Astoriaâs going to conscript the templars where both of them recruited the mages, Varevas will disband the Inquisition while Ghilanel kept it going, there are a lot of changes coming when I get time to play through stuff.
07) Go-to adventuring group?Â
Origins is always Alistair, Zevran, and Wynne, no matter how hard I try to make myself mix it up. I was warned about DA2 so I changed it up for maximum friendship but if I had my way, it wouldâve been Jonah, Aveline, Anders, and Fenris or Varric. Three guards and a healer meant leaving a lot of chests unopened so I tried to bring Varric along when I could. Ghilanelâs go to was Solas, Dorian, and Varric, and so far Varevasâ has been Dorian, Sera, and either Bull or Blackwall.
08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?Â
Ghilanel has the most time and creativity invested in her at this point. I didnât put much thought into any of them going in beyond appearance and who I wanted to romance (though Ghilanel was originally going to be a Cullen or Blackwall romance, fucking egg ruins everything) but Ghilanel grew and grew as I played and thought about her. Leohta, Jonah, and Varevas all have a lot to offer, but in terms of being developed and able to support a story of their own, itâs definitely Ghil.
09) Favorite romance?
Dorian, oh man. I just swoon, heâs perfect.
10) Have you read any of the comics/books?
Iâve read almost all of the comics (Iâm halfway through Knight Errant) and I have many of the books but havenât actually started any of them yet.
11) If you read them, which was your favorite book?
I enjoyed Magekiller a LOT!
12) Favorite DLCs?
Descent. The Wellspring is possibly the most beautiful environment in any of the games, I almost cried when my party got there, and everything leading up to that was also visually stunning as well as exactly the kind of lore I live for. It also features my beautiful wife Valta and her perfect husband Renn which is just a bonus. I will say, though, Jaws of Hakkon could easily surpass it if theyâd like, put out a novelization of Ameridanâs Inquisition. Trespasser was incredible too but sadly I was spoiled and that took a lot of the fun out of the end of it.
13) Things that annoy you.
Little things like not being able to swim and not hearing banter when youâre on a mount. Bigger things like the fact that in order to make an informed decision about Orlais (as a player) you have to have read an entire other novel because the game doesnât give you the information you need, even if itâs also not necessarily things your character would know. All the sort of stock things, like Cassandra not being bi (among other characters but sheâs the one that makes me the most angry), Bioware whitewashing their own characters, no dwarf romances. Not even touching on fandom stuff.
14) Orlais or Ferelden?
Ferelden always.
15) Templars or mages?
Templars, to be contrary (by which I mean I have Opinions about this and while in general I side with mages in all things, I still say Templars).
16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?
I only really have one complete world state right now, with Leohta romancing Alistair and putting Anora alone on the throne, and Jonah romancing Anders and running away with him at the end of the game, but within that Ghilanel is the Inquisitor with Varevas as her clanâs First who survives the Conclave with her; Astoria as a rebel mage who joins up before even considering going to Redcliffe because her nephew is the Inquisitor; and Leohta attending the Conclave undercover as a Carta member and trying to maintain that cover after Haven.
17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)
Leohta and Jonah both named their mabaris Leon, and Buian named hers Taz.
18) Have you installed any mods?
PS player, no mods here
19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?Â
It beat the alternative. Die in the Deep Roads now, or die in the Deep Roads later. Leohta chose later.Â
20) Hawkeâs personality?Â
Blue as the summer sky over Lothering, Jonah is a pure child.
21) Did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition?
Only for their love interests; Ghilanel and Solas were all green and gold until the breakup, then she dyed her armour deep red. Varevas and Dorian are white and red. Leohtaâs all warden armour, just like Alistair. Astoria would match Bull if Bull wore more clothing...
22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?
Leohta wouldâve been more careful with Zevranâs heart to avoid having to dump him right before the final battle.
Jonah wouldâve investigated the alleged serial killings sooner, to possibly save his mother.
Ghilanel wouldâve worked harder to make something of herself before the Inquisition knowing sheâd need it later.
Varevas wouldâve... I dunno. Probably flirted harder with Cullen, heâs hilarious when heâs all out of sorts over it.
23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?
Iâm sure I do but I canât think of any just now, which is odd.
24) Who did you leave in the Fade?
JONAH BABY IâM SORRY I DIDNâT KNOW so from now on itâs gonna be Stroud
25) Favorite mount?Â
Ghilanel liked the Royal Sixteen and Varevas loves his Dalish All-bred but in general I donât bother with them, I like the banter more than getting around faster.

Itâs a great scene. Â The only issue I have ever had with the set up - from a meta perspective, if I were crafting a novel about something like this moment say - is that from a practical POV the only real threat to ALL of them was Luna herself. Which they all should have known. Roan above all. He dropped her before only by kicking out her bum knee, which is now healed.
So if Echo was going to skulk around and work to even the odds, shooting an arrow through Lunaâs throat would have been the smart play.
This of course would have lost us the visually powerful scene of Roan and Luna fighting in the burning rain at the end, and Octaviaâs clever victory, blah blah blah....
But the narrative sacrifice is that Echo takes out the wrong person for no particularly compelling reason. Like I seriously refuse to believe that Illian presented Roan (or ANY of the other 11 challengers for that matter) with any particular threat/difficulty level, or that Illianâs death was worth the price she paid for it.
And Echo should have known that.
It also rests on Roan - who has been a pretty savvy player until now - suddenly having a somewhat unexpected attack of the âhonorsâ - this is the man who twice put a knife in Clarkeâs hand so sheâd assassinate his enemies, one of them his own mother!, traded away the lives of all but fifty of his people in a handwave, and I still think itâs a plausible read that he and Lexa planned his motherâs murder when the Clarke as murderer plan didnât work out ... - but now heâs all âdonât cheat the conclave?â Whut?
It sets up what follows and it looks great in the heat and flow of a horrible day as death barrels down on them all (which can excuse a great many change ups in behavior certainly and panic and fear make people lose their heads a bit no doubt and that can work in a story too)... but step back and itâs actually a very strange sequence given what we know of both of them right up to that moment.
Echo appreciation week       Day 04: most heartbreaking scene ; Roanâs banishment

Note
who are going to be the "love interests" in the game?
The main characters you will have to manage will be:
Pope Innocent
Cardinal Bellini
Sister Agnes
Cardinal Tedesco
Joseph Tremblay
Joshua Adeyemi
There may or may not be more characters that you can âmanageâ in secret endings⌠but youâll have to play the game yourself to find out!! Thanks for asking!
