With The [Bootleg] Beatles 🍏
This is my first personal post, so sorry if I seem awkward. But last night was my 4th time seeing this tribute band and they’re absolutely incredible.
It’s so surreal. They have the dialects, mannerisms, and sound down so tightly that it almost feels like watching a reincarnation of The Beatles.
The way they go through all of the years of the 60s feels like we’re time-travelling with them, and they even sang Now and Then at the end which almost made me cry.
The Bootleg Beatles tour all around the world, so if they ever come near you then it’s so worth watching.

hello so the move on watt reunion concert rendition just randomly appeared on my YouTube page so I decided to take that trip down memory lane and like,,,I gotta give props to the cast for putting so much emotion in that performance and ESPECIALLY jrb because the entire time she just really channels back kate's restlessness and anxiety and grief and she just keeps looking at celeste (chess) the entire fucking time and like

Jeff Rosenstock - August 2024 Warsaw Residency + more
Tumblr media
Plankfan and I present to you the entire run of 2024 Warsaw shows. I was at the shows on the 21st and 24th getting those, and Plankfan was my ground correspondent/fellow mic man for all the rest of the dates. I recorded using the Zoom h1n and he used the Pixel 3. I went in and EQ'd and mastered everything.
When I say entire run I mean ENTIRE run. All the opening sets are there. I split up what I could to tracks via setlist fm but I'm just one dude who doesn't know every band's catalog so some of the openers are just one file unsplit.
Also included are recordings of Jeff from 2022. Because I'm a forgetful fuck who was relatively not plugged in to this corner of the net for a while, I didn't master and split these up at the time. Here they are now! Sorry, sorry!
These 2022 shows are the Ska Dream set from Chicago recorded also by Plankfan, and the first two ever Jeff & Laura shows recorded by my friend Hayden, all with great results.

every new iteration of les mis really does give something new. the slight changes in the vocals, the staging.... anyways im at a concert showing and am in awe.
the singer playing fauntine managed perfect singing while somehow cramming so much emotion in. cosette singing castle on a sky... fluffiest? one ive heard in a while.
and just from the ABC song, enjolras here has such a strong voice. so compelling. the grantaire is playing, adding lots of flairs.
truly live shows are something people deserve to be able to see multiple times. to enjoy the spectrum, appreciate the angles, or even just to concentrate or have different parts highlighted.... so important

Elvis Presley, "Let Me Be There" (LIVE, 1976)
Source (FULL ALBUM): Elvis Presley Concert CD (Youtube channel)
Audio from Bootleg album "A New Kind Of Rhythm!", released in 2007 by Madison label. This CD contains full soundboard recording from an Elvis concert recorded live at the Riverfront Coliseum on March 21, 1976 (evening concert at 8:30 pm), Cincinnati, Ohio.

PICTURES: Elvis concert Riverfront Coliseum on March 21, 1976 (evening concert, 8:30pm).
FUN FACT: Elvis performed twice that day at the Riverfront Coliseum. For the afternoon concert (2:30pm), EP was wearing the "Blue Egyptian Bird" suit, but at given moment the rear end of that suit teared up due to his movement onstage (no surprise it happened right after Elvis performed "Polk Salad Annie"). He briefly went offstage and changed into the "Rainfall" suit, in which the show moved along. There's another bootleg CD from this concert, with the title "Rippin' It In Cincinnati" (released in 2018 by Straight Arrow label), a clear reference to that one incident onstage. For the evening concert (8:30pm) Elvis wore the "Rainfall" suit again.

After changing his outfit (afternoon concert), picture above shows Elvis showing the rip to his audience. Riverfront Coliseum on March 21, 1976. There's footage of that moment too. You can watch it, here [Dailymotion]. In spite what happened, the Blue Egyptian Bird suit was fixed and Elvis wore it again in many occasions after that one incident.

FULL CONCERT [Riverfront Coliseum on March 21, 1976 — Evening concert at 8:30 pm]. If you'd like to know what EP said about the ripping suit incident (yes, he mentioned it on the evening concert), you can listen to it on this soundboard recording (begins at 29:06). EP mentioned it briefly. Take your time to appreciate the full concert, seriously. This concert is AMAZING! "Steamroller Blues" (at 15:53)? Uhh! ❤️‍🔥

I considered venturing outside today, but you know, why do that when I have such a full outside weekend planned and can instead stay in today and watch multiple productions of Follies for research purposes?

whats the best Assassins recording?
oooohooohoo BOY that is a question!! thank you very much for asking i will NEVER pass up a chance to talk about assassins.
imo it's difficult to compare them - i have a different favorite version for each song - because they all have strengths in different areas and it depends what you prefer. the 1990 off-broadway recording has great orchestrations and an utterly incredible cast. the 2004 broadway recording is probably the definitive full version (it's the show in sondheim's finished incarnation of it with "something just broke" and the balladeer double casting) 2021 has more stripped-down, intimate orchestrations and a few really good voices that make the whole thing worthwhile. (i listen to 2021 just bc steven pasquale is my favorite booth by far lmao)
all things considered i'd say the original 1990 off-broadway cast recording is the best overall, while 2004 is the most complete (and still really really good) but it all depends what you're looking for
