My final piece. I wanted to continue using the old clock but by removing the clock it becomes a different object in its own right. The battery flap on the back which spins around is essential in showing the different moon phases and its continuous changes taking place. I experimented using a darker back ground but decided to use white which draws the viewer in to the dark space that is being partially hidden by the flap and the shape it takes on. I like the simplicity of this and wanted to strip it back after experimenting with Photoshop and layering. I wanted to show the different phases in a row as the take place. Almost an educational diagram. They grey shades in the photos add to the mystical feeling of the piece.

CONCEPTUAL/ NATION ART PROJECT
I was looking for an older furnatures that would be more accurate for my topic. Unfortunately I didn’t find any hanger. I decided to paint the modern one white  to suppress the feeling that was imposed by yellow plywood.

Conceptual Nation
All the previous tracks together.
The fact that I used a mix of different accents wasn’t done due to the theme of nation but was out of interest in sound rather than nationality but feel it goes well with theme never the less.
I feel this is my final as its where I ended, I have found it hard to decide on a sound piece I liked most as I’m not sure what counts as good sound work but i feel this track is the most interesting.

Conceptual Nation Final Asking people with different nationalities to do same task, in this case the simple instruction to draw a circle. The idea was to show that no matter where you are from there are certain things we can all do and understand.
At first I asked people to shake hands with other people but that involves more than one person and there are many distractions. I wanted to create something where you only see their ‘product’ and it doesn’t show anything physical.

Using photoshop I developed the idea of using the object (an old clock) to show the phases of the moon. The photos look quite mystic to me. I used the same image in the first and last but edited differently digitally. By taking a series of photographs of the circle flap in different positions based on the 8 phases of the moon and using layering and different tools I got different outcomes with the same photo. It gives the sense of direction and movement. A continuous orbit.

The Bible clearly approves of slavery in many passages, and it goes so far as to tell how to obtain slaves, how hard you can beat them, and when you can have sex with the female slaves. (Exodus 21:7-11). This is an example of how religion may have effected or even caused some forms of Colonialism by giving them a reason to invade.
“However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you.  You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land.  You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance.  You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way.” (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

Following feedback from the project crit I have redeveloped my instructions. Consolidating them so that one person can follow them and realising that it doesn’t really matter if a real flag is formed I have created them as a continuous loop so that the instructions never finish. This relates to the language of bureaucracy where a person continually in their life has to fill in forms. When you are born, your birth is registered, you are given a National Health Service Number, you follow a series of checks as you reach certain milestones. As you become an adult and are eligible for work you will receive a National Insurance number and there will be another series of forms using language which attaches a label to you as an individual - job seeker, taxpayer, member of the electoral roll. All these varying roles that identify whole bodies of people and together create a nation.
