Faking It (Part 4)

A/N: Got this idea from a friend :) This is it you guys, the final part to this mini series!

Genre: Good ol’ fluff; Slight angst; FakeDating!au; College!au

Pairing: Hoshi x reader

Summary: You kept to yourself, while he was friends with everybody. You read at the coffee shop, while he was at every party. You couldn’t have been more different. But when his parents come to visit and expect to meet his girlfriend, you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or perhaps the right place at the right time?

The sound of distant buzzing can be heard while you’re still sleeping. But soon enough you’re awoken from your sleep and you notice the buzzing is your phone. With an annoyed groan, you look for your phone blindly with your hand. But when you can’t seem to find it, you let out another annoyed groan and sit up to get it. Holding it up, you see that Seungkwan is calling you and you answer.

“What?” You say, voice slightly irritated and still sleepy.

“Y/N! You’re alive! I’ve called you like a hundred times I thought you were dead!” He exclaims, his loudness making you wince.

“Why are you yelling this early in the morning?” You say, pulling the covers off of you and turning your body so your legs hang off the bed.

“Early in the morning? Do you know what time it is?” He asks rhetorically, you know he’s gonna answer for you. “It’s 1:47pm! Y/n you missed class! I had to sit there bored and not knowing what was going on because you weren’t there to explain everything!” He goes on. You turn to look at your clock, he was right it most definitely was 1:47.

“I’m sorry Seungkwan, I got to bed really late last night because I was busy having a mental breakdown and just over slept.” You say, clearly exhausted. Both physically and emotionally.

“What? Why what happened?” He asks, his voice laced with worry. You sigh, the memories of last night flooding back to you. This was probably too much to explain over the phone.

“Are you busy? Can you meet me at the café in like 30 minutes?” You ask, needing a second opinion on last night’s events.

“Yeah, and I’ll get Vernon too.” He agrees and you thank him, say your goodbyes and start getting dressed.

You get yourself ready and out the dorm in about 25 minutes. You made your way to the café and found a table to sit at once you got inside. After ordering your drink, you looked up to see Seungkwan and Vernon walk in through the door, so you wave them over.

“Okay so what happened? What’s with the emergency friend meeting?” Vernon asked, sounding just as worried as Seungkwan did over the phone.

“Well hello to you too.” You responded, taking a sip of your drink.

“Y/n I thought I was gonna walk in here to you crying your eyes out or something.” He vented, not actually mad just tired of being confused. But not anywhere near how tired you are of being confused.

“I’m not sad or anything, I don’t think. I’m just really confused... something... happened last night.” You recounted hesitantly, the boys were very intrigued now.

“Wait with Hoshi?” Vernon asks, clarifying. Seungkwan hits his arm and he winces.

“Yes of course with Hoshi!” Seungkwan chided.

“Well how was I supposed to know that?” He defends, gesturing towards himself.

“He’s been at the center of her life for like 2 weeks now. Who else would we be talking about?” Seungkwan reminded him.

“Would you both just listen?” You scold, successfully getting them to stop their bickering and pay attention. You sighed.

“Hoshi kissed me last night... more than once.” You admit, earning a gasp from Seungkwan.

“I KNEW IT!” He yells, standing up. Everyone around the café looks over at your table. He notices and sits back down slowly.

“Sorry.” He says much quieter.

Vernon still looks like he’s seen a ghost. So you wave a hand in front of his face. He blinks back into reality.

“You okay there?” You ask, both you and Seungkwan looking at him.

“Yeah, yeah I’m good. I’m just... I don’t know, I didn’t see that coming. Not that I’m surprised, you’re totally his type. That just happened way faster than I thought it would.” He explains. “How come I can’t get girls that fast?” He adds, more to himself but you can both still hear him.

“Okay we’re getting off topic.” You reign them back in. “What does this mean?” You ask, hoping they can shed some light on the situation with them also being guys and all.

“Um he definitely likes you.” Seungkwan states, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

“But like what if he was just upping his acting game? Like to make us more believable?” You countered, silently hoping you’re wrong.

“Okay how did he kiss you? Was it a peck or did you guys make out?” Vernon asks, your face immediately turning a light shade of red. You hide your face in your hands.

“The latter.” You say, voice muffled by your hands.

“Oh he definitely likes you.” Vernon confirms, finding your flustered state amusing. “No guy makes out with a girl if he doesn’t like her.” He states. “Was it intense?” He asks, a teasing smile played on his face.

You nod, face still buried in your hands.

“Oh my god he totally likes you!” Seungkwan now joins in on the ‘let’s embarrass y/n’ fest that seems to be happening. Vernon turns to Seungkwan and pats him on the back. “You were right my friend, he did fall for her.”

“Okay okay you guys can stop now.” You tell them, sighing.

They both laughed at your annoyed state, only making you want to hit them. But before you could follow through with that desire, your phone started buzzing again. You looked at the screen to see that it was Hoshi calling you.

“It’s Hoshi.” You hear Seungkwan whisper to Vernon in a teasing voice. They are children, you swear.

“Hello?” You say, answering the call.

“Hey princess, I left you a little something at your dorm for tonight. I’ll be picking you up at six.” He says, a smirk evident in his voice. But you don’t even have time to respond before he’s hung up. For tonight? What’s happening tonight?

Then it hit you.

“His parents party!” You say standing up. “What time is it?” You ask them rather frantically.

“3:56.” Vernon says and you begin panicking. You have two hours to get ready.

“I have to go start getting ready! Thank you for the help, I will talk to you guys later!” You say grabbing your bag and rushing out of the café to your dorm. Once you made it in the lobby, up the elevator, and into your room, the first thing you noticed was the three white boxes laying on your bed. Each bigger than the last.

You walked over to your bed to examine them. After mentally debating for a few seconds, you decided to open the smallest one first. You picked up the box, and opened it. And what was inside almost made you cry.

It was a beautiful diamond necklace. Did he buy this for you? Oh my god he bought this for you. He bought you a flipping diamond necklace. You stare at it for a bit longer before opening the next box.

Inside was a pair of suede nude heels. And oh my god were they stunning. Next came the biggest box, and you hesitated before opening it. You’re not sure why. You’re just not used to receiving so many gifts.

With a deep breath, you slowly opened the box. And once you caught a glimpse of what was inside, you almost passed out. Your jaw dropped and you put your hand over your mouth to stop it from practically falling off.

With caution, you pulled out this gorgeous emerald green floor length dress.

“This must have cost him a fortune.” You whisper to yourself in awe.

Only then did you notice the note that was next to the box. So carefully putting the dress back down and picking up the note, you opened it. And it read:

-Princess,

Don’t even worry about picking out an outfit for tonight, I’ve already got that covered as you can see. You’re going to look absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to see you. Be there at 6. - Hoshi

The blush that was now dusting your cheeks couldn’t be helped. Nor could the smile that formed on your lips. You turn your head to look at the clock. 4:34. You have an hour and 26 minutes to get ready.

You did your eye makeup slightly on the neutral side but still doing a wing, to really give attention to the dress. You curled your hair, pulled some pieces back, and bobby pinned them in place. You slipped the dress on, it fit perfectly. And while looking at yourself in the mirror, you wonder how on earth he knew your size. Next came the heels, which also fit perfectly. They were just the right height so the dress just barely touched the ground. Then you struggled for about 10 minutes trying to put the necklace on but eventually did it successfully.

Finally you walked back over to your mirror and for once felt really confident about yourself. You smiled at the way the dress hugged your waist and the slit that stopped just above your knee, showcasing the heels. And the necklace really pulled it all together. You looked over at the clock again, 5:57. “Alright here we go.” You say under your breath.

Grabbing your phone and your bag, you make your way down the elevator and to the entrance of the dorm. Taking a deep breath to calm yourself, you open the door and step outside to see Hoshi in a black suit and a tie the same color as your dress, leaning up against a black Mercedes Benz with the passenger side open. As soon as he saw you though, his state of mind faltered. You were even more beautiful than he had imagined. He pushed himself off of the car to walk towards you.

“Is this your car?” You chuckle a bit in awe, pointing to it. But he doesn’t even answer you. He just walks right up to you, hands on your waist, and kisses you. It was a quick kiss, but enough to make you flustered.

“You look absolutely stunning.” He says in a low voice, face still inches from yours. You just stare at him, mouth slightly agape. You had to know if Seungkwan and Vernon were right. You just had to know if this was real.

“Do you like me?” You say without thinking. But you don’t take it back.

Hoshi looks at you a bit confused. Oh no, you were wrong. No they were wrong. This was stupid why did you agree to do this-

“Of course I do.” He says, a smile playing on his lips. “Actually, I think I might be in love with you.” He says looking down, you notice his cheeks turning a bit pink.

“Wait really?” You suddenly say, causing him to look up. He laughed a bit.

“Do you really think I would’ve kissed you like I did last night if I didn’t have feelings for you?” He says, now it was your turn to blush.

“Well how come you didn’t say anything?” You pointed out. He shyly smiled and rubbed the back of his neck.

“I wasn’t sure you felt the same.” He said quietly, looking down again. You couldn’t even contain how happy you were right now. He just said he loved you.

“Soonyoung.” You say, getting his attention fully. “I have been in love with you since our 3rd date.”

The smile that graced his lips as you said this could have lit up a whole city in a blackout. He pressed his lips back to yours, in a soft, loving kiss filled with so much new emotion.

You pulled away first, earning a whine from him. “We have somewhere to be.” You smile, reminding him why you’re both dressed up to begin with.

“Right, right. I have to introduce you to all my parent’s friends as my girlfriend.” He winks at the last part.

“Oh so am I actually your girlfriend now? Or are we still pretending?” You tease, trying to hide the smile forming on you face.

“Oh you’re mine now, princess.” He smirks before leaning in for another kiss to which you accepted. But again you pulled away.

“Okay we seriously need to go now, or we’ll be late.” You giggled, turning your head to avoid his advances.

“Alright fine.” He pouts with a defeated sigh.

He takes your hand and leads you to the car, buckling you in once your seated. Then he gets into the drivers seat and drives off in the direction of the dining hall his parents are hosting their party.

“So you never answered me.” You point out, turning your head to look at him. He currently had his hand on your thigh which put butterflies in your stomach.

“About what?” He smirks. He knows very well what you’re talking about.

“Is this your car?” You reiterated, already think you know the answer.

He still didn’t answer, just kept smirking and focusing on the road.

“I’m gonna take that as a yes.” You say turning to look ahead of you. He chuckled beside you, squeezing your leg lightly. Oh look at that more butterflies.

“Yes, this is my car.” He laughs lightly, making a left turn.

You look over at him. “Well I’m impressed.” You smile, he turns to wink at you for just a second.

Soon enough you made it to the place his parents were having the party and parked. Hoshi got out first and walked over to your side to open the door for you. Holding out his hand, which you accepted, he helped you out of the car and shut the door behind you. Snaking his hand around your waist, he held you closer to him and you both began walking to the entrance. This place was incredible. The two men outside opened the doors for you both and you stepped inside. As soon as you walked in, everyone turned to look at you two. And Hoshi’s parents came rushing over.

“Y/n my dear you look gorgeous!” His mom gasps.

“Thank you Mrs. Kwon, but I can’t possible top how beautiful you look.” You compliment, not really sure where this newfound confidence came from. Probably the dress. Or Hoshi’s fingers drawing soft circles on your hip.

“I love her already!” His mom laughed, holding onto Hoshi’s dad’s arm. He smiled at the two of you.

“You two seem happy, and that’s all I can ask for my son.” He said, patting Hoshi’s shoulder. “And hopefully future daughter in law.” He winked at Hoshi. You started blushing madly but apparently Hoshi wasn’t fazed at all.

“You never know.” He says looking right at you, a devilish grin on his face.

“Why don’t you two go mingle and dance and enjoy yourselves! We’ll be around!” His mom says before her and his dad leave to go talk to people. Hoshi turns to wrap both arms around you, smiling down at you.

“What?” You ask, a smile forming on your own face.

“You’re perfect.” He says leaning down to capture your lips in his. You smiled into the kiss, grabbing his tie to pull him closer. And the rest of the night was filled with kisses and slow dances and glasses of champagne. It was a night you’d never forget.

And you’d also never forget how Seungkwan and Vernon freaked out the next day when you told them that you and Hoshi were actually dating now.
