We Need A Little Yiga Now
Here is my first Tumblr post of my own fanfiction! Summary: A Christmas lyric parody for my beloved Yiga Clan! Written in their perspective, as they see themselves: the heroes fighting for justice. Oh, and there are bananas.
Consistent with my Unshed Tears series, but random enough to be a stand alone. Enjoy! And Merry Christmas!
Rating: General Audiences AO3 link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/52528327
We Need A Little Yiga Now
Call out the clansmen Find lots of ripe bananas, make us strong again Sharpen the sickles To keep a vow we made ten thousand years ago now
For we need a little Yiga, right this very minute Trusting in a future, fighting to begin it Yes, we'll take a stand for justice, right this very minute Link is tough, he makes us worry, but Kohga says we're in a hurry
Search all the kingdom Refine the strongest Earthwake move we've ever seen Serve Master Kohga We'll take the hero's life and prove our faithfulness now
Time to get a little madder, act a little bolder Be a little meaner, let our spirit smolder And we'll leave a few bananas, sitting by a boulder Need a little ambush now
For we'll keep our ancient promise, raise our ancient master Ganon will awaken, Hyrule face disaster And we'll prove that we are Yiga, steadfast ever after Call out all the Yiga now!

This. Exactly this. Glory to Master Kohga.
the yiga clan have notoriously murdered hundreds of people, are willing to lure innocent people into danger to get their way, know how to build zonai constructs without ultrahand, can mimic anyone including the princess herself, have learned how to mimic objects, have copied the exact elements of a legendary heirloom to the point that it operates in the exact same fashion, have taught themselves how to traverse the depths, and pinpointed ganondorf’s nearly exact location beneath hyrule castle, and yet they’re still portrayed as comic relief, and this isn’t a complaint that’s the exact reason why I love them so fucking much

Hey what do you think of Master Khoga? I love the yiga in general but Khoga's been kinda divisive. Personally, I love him!
Hey, thanks for the ask!
He actually was my light in the tunnel while playing TotK, his boss battles were delightful and his whole persona was a breath of fresh air --I was grinning every time he was on screen, and I'm super happy they allowed themselves to get really goofy there. I really adored TotK's yigas, I think they make for great antagonists even from a gameplay perspective, as they directly interact with the Ultrahand mechanics and give a much needed spark to the Depths.
There's always the notion that, you know, it would have been cool to enrich the whole "the yigas have an actual reason to be pissed off, and they have gotten yet another step closer to Team Rocket level of shenanigans since BotW, where they already had that very well paced build-up of goofs, instead of exploring actual grievances with Hyrule, and given the game it could have been interesting", but I dooon't think the yigas, as they have been set up by the games, serve to explore this side super well given they are being undermined by the tone at every step. So I think the yigas are fine as is, but I just wish we would have had something else to fill up that role. In the absence of that, yeah, Kohga and the Yigas (great band name) might be a little much and/or underwhelming under a certain light, but I had fun, and I feel like everybody who worked on them had fun too, and that's good for me honestly haha
#asks#thoughts#botw#totk#master kohga#yiga clan#thanks for the ask!!#I still do miss the darker side of the sheikahs as a whole tbh#and the yigas *could* have been that#but it's fine that they aren't#it's just... yeah I wish the game about kingdoms and its tears would actually explore stuff like the yiga's backstory or other things#so it doesn't help the shallowness but it's not responsible for it#and it is a really nice change of tone#I almost wish they actually went harder on the onesidedness of kohga's obsession with ganondorf because that's so funny#the whole pattern of?? somehow weirdly competent shlobby dudes with poor emotional control#developing the biggest obsession of all time on ganondorf#who meanwhile barely knows they exist and/or barely acknowledge their existence beyond what they can provide him#is basically a series staple by that point#and it is a hilarious one

playing totk and going on the "unknown mysterious shadow" mission. the monster control crew guy said there were reports of a monster in the depths problem: there is only one place you ever encounter the real monster control crew or the zonai exploration team in the depths, and that is when you enter it for the very first time. any other time you see someone from the monster control crew or zonai exploration team? they've all been yiga in disguise. so how would they get that information if no one is down there?
solution: the yiga are so dedicated to their disguises that they actually perform their duties as assigned and are valuable employees.
#totk#totk spoilers#tears of the kingdom#yiga clan#they're such silly yet surprisingly competent villians#also it's established that the yiga study the depths anyway so really they're killing two birds with one stone

[Just got reminded that, not only did the Eighth Heroine bs employ the male white savior of the Gerudo in this legend, but they had Link's experience in Gerudo Town in TotK literally parallels this from Riju NEEDING him to perfect her lightning strike technique to just...saving the town from the Gibdos because I guess they couldn't do it themselves? Even though iirc they figured out that they could put the fire and electric element things on weapons and arrows I THINK for themselves (which is still weird because Link did that through the special fusion technique Rauru's arm gave him so...).
GRAH. ANGY.]
#[ ☀ ˢᵖⁱʳⁱᵗˢ ᶠʳᵒᵐ ᵇᵉʸᵒⁿᵈ ;; ᵒᵒᶜ ]#it just makes me sigh when this comes up#because the gerudo literally cannot be competent in any way apparently#from not being able to handle the yiga clan#to the shit i talked about here and the obsession with marriage#just GRRRAAH

Rise of the Titans - Yurika & Ghira
Yurika is a powerful mage from the Yiga Clan. They are serving as a leading superior in master Kohga's absense and are actually quite competent in their leadership role. You'll encounter them several times in miniboss battle confrontations.
Ghira is a leading figure of the Baga Clan - a group that branched off from the Yiga Clan after the demon kings defeat. She and her clan are more neutral, and are open to help Link and the Sages in their quest...for a small price.

How would the Ganondorfs (Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Hyrule Warriors, and Tears of the Kingdom) & Demise react to meeting the Yiga clan?
The Yiga Clan, with their fervent devotion to Ganon and oddball behavior, would provoke a wide range of reactions from the various iterations of Ganondorf and Demise. Each would have a unique take on the fanatical group of ninjas, and their responses would vary based on their personalities and experiences.
Wind Waker Ganondorf (Wake):
Wake is a deeply contemplative and serious version of Ganondorf, driven by a sense of duty and a tragic understanding of the cycle of conflict between Hyrule and himself. The Yiga Clan’s goofy nature would likely irritate him, but he might recognize the value of their loyalty.
Reaction: Wake would stand silently, arms crossed, as the Yiga present themselves with their usual mix of fanaticism and silliness. He’d listen carefully, his expression unreadable. Once they’ve finished with their bizarre antics, he would speak calmly, but with an edge of disdain.
"So, this is the so-called 'loyalty' you offer me?" he asks in a low, almost disappointed voice. "I do not seek sycophants and fools. If you wish to serve me, do so with dignity." He wouldn’t outright reject them but would expect more seriousness in their service. If they proved useful in some way, he might tolerate them, though their antics would certainly test his patience.
Ocarina of Time Ganondorf (Bandit):
Bandit, as the most cunning and manipulative of all the Ganondorfs, would see the Yiga Clan’s obsession with him as a tool he could easily exploit. However, their eccentric behavior might cause him to question their competence.
Reaction: Bandit would smirk as the Yiga fawn over him, bowing and stumbling through their ridiculous greetings. He’d see through their buffoonery immediately but would tolerate it for the sake of control. Leaning back with a calculating look, he would let them continue their performance, mentally assessing how best to use their loyalty to his advantage.
"Fanaticism is a double-edged sword," he muses quietly, fingers tapping together. "But if you can serve my purposes, I’ll overlook your... shortcomings." He’d give them tasks but wouldn’t trust them completely, using them only as pawns in his larger schemes.
Twilight Princess Ganondorf (Noctis):
Noctis is a stoic, cold, and power-hungry version of Ganondorf. He would find the Yiga Clan's antics beneath him and would likely respond with disdain. However, he’d recognize their willingness to die for him as a useful asset.
Reaction: The Yiga’s comedic devotion would be met with a stone-cold glare from Noctis. As they clumsily perform their introductions, he would remain silent, letting their awkwardness fill the room. Finally, he would speak, his voice icy and full of contempt.
"If you intend to serve me, do so in silence and without embarrassment. I have no need for clowns." He would dismiss them with a wave of his hand but might consider keeping them around if they prove effective in battle. He has no patience for nonsense, and the Yiga would quickly learn to tread lightly around him.
Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf (Hedony):
Hedony is the most theatrical and grandiose of all the Ganondorfs. He thrives on spectacle and power, so the Yiga’s over-the-top loyalty might amuse him at first. He would enjoy the attention but would demand they take things seriously when necessary.
Reaction: Hedony would burst out laughing at the sight of the Yiga Clan’s enthusiastic, albeit goofy, devotion. Their antics might remind him of a farcical performance, and he’d be entertained by their eagerness to serve.
"Ah, you amuse me!" Hedony would say with a booming laugh. "Such devotion! But remember, power is not a game. You serve me, and I expect nothing less than total success in my name." He’d enjoy having an army of fanatical followers but would quickly punish failure or foolishness. The Yiga would need to balance their devotion with actual results if they wanted to keep his favor.
Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf (Vendettas):
Vendettas is the most menacing and calculated version of Ganondorf. He is a master manipulator and conqueror, and he’d view the Yiga Clan’s devotion with a mix of skepticism and opportunity.
Reaction: Vendettas would watch the Yiga with cold, calculating eyes as they grovel before him. Their silliness would not amuse him in the slightest. He would view them as potential tools but with very little respect.
"You worship a shadow of my power," he would say, his voice low and dangerous. "Prove to me that you are more than mere sycophants, or I will wipe you from existence myself." He’d use them as pawns but wouldn’t hesitate to eliminate them if they became a liability. He’s far too pragmatic to tolerate their incompetence.
Demise:
Demise, as the primal force of destruction and hatred, would have no patience for the Yiga’s antics. Their devotion might amuse him briefly, but their clumsiness would ultimately irritate him. He values raw power, not foolishness.
Reaction: The Yiga would barely finish their introductions before Demise snarls at them, his fiery eyes narrowing in irritation. Their antics would strike him as absurd, and he would quickly lose patience with their bumbling ways.
"Do you think this is a joke?" Demise growls, his voice filled with menace. "I seek power, not fools." With a wave of his hand, he might even banish or strike down a few Yiga members to prove his point. They would need to shape up quickly, or they’d face his wrath. Unlike Ganondorf, Demise would have no use for servants who couldn’t match his thirst for destruction.
Summary:
Wind Waker Ganondorf: Frustrated by their foolishness but might tolerate them if they prove useful.
Ocarina of Time Ganondorf: Sees them as pawns to manipulate but has little respect for them.
Twilight Princess Ganondorf: Dismissive and cold, only keeps them around if they are effective.
Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf: Amused at first but demands serious results, enjoys the theatricality.
Tears of the Kingdom Ganondorf: Skeptical and pragmatic, uses them but without any trust.
Demise: Furious at their foolishness, he would likely destroy them unless they prove powerful and useful.
The Yiga Clan’s eccentric devotion would be met with varying degrees of amusement, disdain, and skepticism from the Demon Kings, depending on their personalities and tolerance for nonsense.

I would like to know more about junko right neow please
Okay 🥰 I'll give you some info bits on them that I've been thinking about a lot
Junko uses any pronouns, but I typically lean toward they/them.
Junko is a Yiga General like Sooga is, except I like to think there's a hierarchy, Sooga being Kohga's right hand and Junko being at least two ranks below him.
They're mostly disliked by the clan, because of their flirty and overly confident personality. Kohga only keeps them around because they're competent, but also more disposable than Sooga is.
Junko uses projectile wind attacks when taunting Link from a distance. But when they're in close combat, they're very showy and often dramatic in their openings and endings, allowing Link to beat them with patience.
When defeated for their first encounter, Junko will drop one of their fans (Which act like Lizal Boomerang, a short sword that can be thrown.). Then complain about Link stealing it if you manage to keep it in your inventory during the next encounter.

"it feels incredibly disingenuous to not have even a small portion express that" On the one hand, the Yiga clan exists and are about something like 10% of the humanoid characters in totk by number of them that exist in-game. A lot of what they do that we can see is against Link but they formed originally because of their feelings toward the government (so their feelings toward Link probably could be feelings toward the government by proxy since they see Ganon as on their government destroying side). On the other hand, the only person we SEE being recruited into the Yiga clan thinks it'll be a way to get girls. I'd theorize maybe there are other people with more serious reasons for joining the Yiga clan, though it's not like the game shows that.
yeah the yiga clan did come to mind but its a bit murky because we don't really see what their issues are with the royal family other than "they exist" which I mean, same lmao
ultimately they're framed as traitors to humanity and as evil as ganon is but just a lot less competent. what they actually think and believe and feel and how they've responded to the end of the world is not really explored in these games(unless I missed something)
the games showcase that the royal family failed the world and their people and the only response to that we ever really see is "it wasnt your fault!" either forgivingly by the citizens or accusingly by the yiga clan
the people in charge fucked up in a massive way and they shouldn't just be let off the hook by those that were in their charge because there also happened to be other nasty shit going on

I need to hear ur thoughts on Kohga/Ganondorf 👀
Kohgan: (Is that even their ship name? because i think it should be). Anyway it has almost all the ingredients of Astor/Ganonforf but this is one of the rare gan ships where they're actually NOT divorced in the end.
FIRST OF ALL Gan would love the Yiga Clan. A whole group of the people who used to be the royal family's closest allies saying "fuck off" to the king? At least there's someone with sense left in Hyrule. Imagine his delight when he finds out there were no traces of the Zonai left, but there IS a whole faction of people looking for him. (AND YET WE NEVER SEE HIM FIND THAT OUT IN GAME AUUGH).
It really seems like Kohga is the only one who is actually that obsessed with Ganondorf and the rest of the clan is just following along with it. I can't see Ganondorf giving up his power to make this an equal partnership kind of deal, at least not initially. But Kohga loves being the center of attention. And honestly I think if Ganondorf ever broke his heart, the entire Yiga Clan would turn on him IMMEDIATELY. They cannot break up or there is going to be a war.
LOOK, why Kohga even wants to "plunge Hyrule into eternal darkness" or whatever or if he even knows that's what Ganondorf wants aside. For all their silliness, the Yiga Clan and Kohga are actually competent, so I kinda wanna see the team-up with a more threatening antagonist who takes them seriously. And also huge, serious Ganondorf and his silly little boyfriend who bounces around and gives him dramatic introductions.
#ask#battyccino#ask meme#ask game#SORRY I GOT DISTRACTED#i could go either way on it being romantic#or it ending badly just because ganondorfs track record is like divorce all the way down

@mightiestbanana sent: "none of that is true, and you know it!" THE BIG MISUNDERSTANDING Meme
The battle had been abrupt. The Seer, as the Yiga called him, had descended upon their group without mercy—but they were not without strength. They held power, Link's sword and Zelda's light, and they had numbers, and they could win—they would win.
It was why, when The Seer suddenly pulled back his creations, ceased his attacks, and smiled upon them, that Zelda knew something had gone terribly awry.
His laughter was a horrid, mocking sound, shaking his head as though he were entirely too amused. "Master Kohga—Lord Ganon is so very pleased. You make a rather competent spy."
"What?" Impa had been the first to react. Members of their party and the Yiga's began to shout over one another, hurling accusations and insults and threats, but The Seer only laughed and laughed and laughed.
"You may kill her," he finally said, his voice booming over the chaos. "Lord Ganon has offered the Princess as your reward. Go, my friend, take your revenge, enjoy it—"
You may kill her.
Zelda felt her skin grow cold.
"Don't you come near her!" Impa spat as Link's back suddenly filled Zelda's view, "You traitor! I knew we should have left you in that forest! I knew you were lying!"
"None of that is true, and you know it!" Master Khoga hurled back, but it did not seem to be toward Impa. He was speaking to Zelda. She felt his eyes upon her even through the mask, his voice echoing in her rampant thoughts.
Conversations by a fire.
A walk down a dirt path, blood dripping beneath his mask.
He came to them, he asked to help, he told them—
"No...Impa, Link, this is a trick—"
And there was the laughter again, sickening, patronizing. "Oh, Your Highness...did you think you'd made a friend?"
Zelda turned to look at The Seer over Link's shoulder, and for a moment, it nearly looked as though he pitied her. She felt her shoulder stiffen.
"Enough!" She called, a hand to her chest as she raised her voice, "The Yiga are under my protection, you will not—"
"Don't be stupid," The Seer snapped and sneered. "This is war, little girl. And it will not stop until you and that pig father of yours are dead. It is the only desire your Yiga Clan has possessed, long before our battles began. It was all they could speak of—they will hold you down, slit your throat, break your bones one by one, and cut you down into tiny pieces—that was always the plan."
His expression pulled back, calm and composed once more. "A bit gruesome, for my taste, but to each their own."
They will hold you down,
Zelda recalled hands that pinned her to the ground.
Slit your throat,
Fingers that dug into her skin, and she couldn't breath, couldn't move, could only see flashes of paint and mask, of blood red and bone white—
Cut you down into tiny pieces—
And she was trembling, and oh, her instructors had always said never to show fear, never weakness, but she was trembling and shaking and her eyes were wide with horror—
That was always the plan.
You stupid little girl.
"Oh, and, Master Khoga?" the Seer spoke with a smile in his voice. "Do have fun."
He was gone, as quickly as he had arrived, but Impa and Link did not move from their positions in front of Zelda, and her eyes, still wide and far away, trapped in a memory, did not leave the sight of Khoga and his red, white mask.

" Lord Ganon, out of all your loyal minions, who is your favourite, and why is it me ? "
|| Unprompted Shenanigans ||
Perhaps he had been brooding, thoughts heavy with strategy and training regimes and the next step of an increasingly complicated plan of various fragments and levels. There was much to be done and little leisure to see it accomplished.
So when the Master of Yiga Clan approaches Ganondorf’s in all his furrowed glory, hand curled over his mouth with elbow rested upon the table, his golden eyes snap to him with impatience.
And yet, when the man speaks, there’s the slightest softening to that disgruntled expression, amused breath passing fingers in a quiet huff.
“Favorite?” he echoed, leaning back in his chair, a plethora of maps and papers before him, “An interesting proposal. Should one prove themselves competent and successful in all I ask of them, then, I suppose, that could be worthy of favoritism.”

if they weren't mortal enemies link and the yiga clan would be best friends. they have the same combination of dumbass + weirdly competent. the same stupid sense of humor. link would kill to learn the yiga teleport + earthshaker and every time they try to kill him the yiga members have to hold themselves back from waxing poetic about how cool his weird zonai magic was

I updated the very first fanfic I ever wrote, the one that started with Swimming Lessons. It's still called TBD on AO3 because I'm still not sure where it's going other than whump and BAMF BotW Zelda.
But it WILL cameo flower lady Magda vs two Yiga... mostly offscreen, but I love her. I look forward to that.
Chapter 2 is mostly fluff, so here you are:
TBD (11662 words) by SkipBreaker Chapters: 8/? Fandom: The Legend of Zelda & Related Fandoms, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: Graphic Depictions Of Violence Relationships: Link/Zelda (Legend of Zelda), Impa & Zelda (Legend of Zelda) Characters: Link (Legend of Zelda), Zelda (Legend of Zelda), Impa (Legend of Zelda), Riju (Legend of Zelda) Additional Tags: Whump, Competent Yiga Clan (Legend of Zelda), Gerudo Desert (Legend of Zelda), Gerudo Outfit, Angst and Romance, Sheik is Zelda Summary: Who is Zelda, without a Kingdom or Calamity? Who is Link without the Champions and a clear mission?
Chapter 2: Sunset at Lurelin (fluff) Sunset painted the Lurelian sea and sky in brilliant pink and orange strokes. They faded slowly to deep purple and gray shadows. In some parts of Hyrule, sunsets looked too much like an ugly bruise turning yellow and purple, or a fresh wound, full of red. But here, the colors radiated across the sea and sky, and every cloud seemed alive.
“I love twilight,” Zelda sighed, “And I like it here most of all. I can see why you came here so often,” Zelda said, “to find peace. I stood with you, though you could not see me, to say goodbye to them. And yet,” she shook her head slight, “yet it is completely different with mortal eyes. Mortal…thoughts.”
He blushed. He hadn’t known she’d see quite so many of his adventures. What had she not seen?
“This was as far as I’d ever reached, and only near the end. It sort of… helped me to wake up, after so long. It’s strange to know a person so well and yet never speak until so recently. Of all the things I missed, my voice was quite high on that list,” she smiled. They both knew how she loved to fill any silence with her thoughts.
He didn’t want her to feel nervous about doing all the talking yet again.
“I did hear you, sometimes,” Link answered. It felt good to talk about it with someone who understood all that he’d seen. He didn’t have to take hours explaining things to her as he would have for so many others. Sidon, Teba, Yunobo, they understood some, but the whole… she knew the most: their regret, their loss, their hope, their journey. It was a secret language. One side-eye and one word from her could make him spit his food out, laughing. And vice versa.
“Really? Besides when you first woke up? That was quite difficult. By the end I was regaining my body. It was much easier by then.”
“Every Blood Moon, I heard you,” Link said, and he watched her blush, and he felt a little bolder, “Goddess knew how I needed to hear something friendly those nights. Everything I did to help save people…all of it coming undone over and over, knowing people would get hurt, slowing down all our work.”
She put her arm around him.
He stiffened at first, but her hug was so compassionate, so friendly, he slowly relaxed into it.
They watched the sun disappear. They trekked back down to the Inn and Zelda moved their beds closer so they could reach across the gap between them. It was simply part of their routine now to stay within arm’s reach. Link paid several of the villagers to keep watch through the night outside while Zelda wrote in her diary. Link added a few notes to his own records with a smile, and Zelda nodded approvingly as he finished and closed the book.
“Did you include the part where the children tried to eat me?” She asked as he brought the candle closer to her.
“No, but I’m sure the Royal Record has a full account as of tonight. May it never be forgotten,” He chuckled.
“We shall commission a tapestry,” she said, her laughter softening. She closed her diary, blew out the candle, and settled into her blankets,
“And thank you, Link, for encouraging me to agree. I don’t know why the sea makes me so uneasy. I think… I think it might be because…whenever Father told me about the sea, he described it in such a terrifying way. It sounded like a nightmare. Only knowing you’d be here made it feel somewhat safe to come. And then seeing children playing so freely in the water…I’m learning that so much of his description was grossly exaggerated. He made it sound like a place of death, where waves could grab you and hold you down, sharks waited from the shore to eat you, and even the sand would swallow you whole. I wonder if he just never wanted me to ask him to bring me here. Just another distraction.
Silence caught and held the sadness in her voice.
“I guess he truly wanted nothing to impede my duty saving Hyrule,” she sighed after some silence.
Link reached a hand over to her bed, and she took it.
“That’s true,” he agreed, “And you did. And next it’s your turn to decide where we make up for those lost years; after one more day of putting up with sand in Gerudo, that is.”
“Uhg! I still feel like a blade is going to find me every time I touch sand. I was so foolish for trying to run away from you,” He rubbed her fingers with his thumb, and she sighed. He sat up a little, remembering something new. He whispered, “None of us knew you were being hunted. You can’t blame yourself for what you don’t know. None of the reports I read indicated their resurgence. I remember…feeling…surprised.”
The ocean’s soft shushing drew them away from dark memories and into peaceful thoughts.
“Time to make new memories,” Link mumbled as he drifted into dreams.
She pondered his words in silence, and soon they both fell asleep.

I am having way too much fun building my AU of Legend of Zelda lore, specifically with the Villains.
Like…Ghirahim? He’s got a slightly terrifying platonic husband who happens to be a fallen angel and a holy blacksmith. Said husband has forged Ghirahim into a sturdier shape after Ghirahim broke.
Zant? He’s got a boyfriend bodyguard that unintentionally became the Team Boyfriend for all the villains, and said bodyguard is the most competent one there. He still doesn’t know how his bodyguard became “Our Boyfriend” instead of “Zant’s Boyfriend”.
Yuga? He shows up at inconvenient times and has a pet bird that happens to like playing in paint. The bird is definitely capable of speaking coherently due to Yuga talking to it so much. And nobody knows where Yuga is or when he’ll pop in next. It’s great!
Vaati? This boy has a tendency to be intimidated by most dogs. It comes from being Minish in his case, the poor thing. And everyone EXCEPT FOR GANONDORF babies him. And he’s been color coded so aggressively into purple in the group that it’s pretty much the only color he owns from gifts.
Astor? He’s been thrown out the window. Countless times. By so many different people. In so many different ways. He’s also been demoted really hard also because Ganondorf Did Not Vibe with him attempting to sacrifice people who served him without his Express Consent and the Express Consent of those who he attempted to sacrifice.
Kohga? Man’s happily the Mom™️ of the Yiga Clan. He’s a firm believer in eating and sleeping and talking to make things feel better after trauma. He bakes really well (something something don’t trust a skinny baker) and happens to like training newbies with a lot of potential. He just also values boundaries.
Sooga? He’s a dad now. He’s got two daughters, one of which is happily in the Yiga Clan and the other of which died but sticks around like a stubborn bleach stain. I simply have him as a girl mom dad but the type who would show up to a soccer game for his kids and quietly glare daggers at the (other) soccer moms there.
Ganondorf? THE MAN IS TRANS. I LOOKED AT HIM AND DECIDED HE NEEDED TO BE TRANS. VISCERALLY GRABBED HIM IN MY MOUTH AND SHOOK HIM AROUND LIKE A SQUEAKY TOY. So. Trans Ganondorf designs to follow soon. (And also, he’s a big softy who looks terrifying, he’s adopted a Link and a Zelda in the past.)

For the lack of other ways to comment, I’m just going to ramble about The Chase scene here.
I really like how you balanced humor with the tension in a way that didn’t take away from the tension too much and how you managed to have the different Link’s characters shine through despite it being a relatively short scene. Also, I’m not sure how competent the yiga generally are in COA, but this snippet made me realise how scary and or threatening they could actually be as antagonists. I think them actively hunting down the Links makes for a very interesting plot
Anyways, thanks for sharing!
Bjfahhdjhdfhf my head is fuzzy and words are not coming very fast but thank you so much!! 😭 I was having a lot of fun writing the humor in it hehe
The yiga are... hmm, I’d say semi-competent in coa? I’ve mentioned that they have a new leader after the events of botw, and while the kingdom was fairly convinced they’d sort of just disbanded, they were secretly reequipping themselves and training themselves up for this new endeavor, and are definitely tougher than the yiga you fight in botw.
...But they’re still the yiga clan. They still get distracted by bananas. They’re still kinda dumb sometimes. They’re just a bit more personally motivated and deadly than they were previously, with a leader who knows a bit more of what they’re doing.
And thank you for reading! I keep saying this, but posting basically-ocs is positively nerve wracking for me, and I appreciate anyone reading it at all :)
