reminder that, even though the left decided to sit back and not vote against fascism and the executive and congressional branches suck right now, that doesn't mean that the conspiracy theories and general atmosphere of The X-Files "had a point" or were ~generally right except for the aliens. This wasn't true last year, it's not true this year.

The fact of the literal on screen aliens and UFOs and monsters and ghosts in the x-files is what makes it an entertaining scifi show (with a couple of really compelling leads) instead of a dangerously paranoid, antisemetic conspiratorial screed. It's fiction. Please remember that.

Also, the bad guys in this instance aren't a "shadow government working in secret" they are being as loud and obnoxious as possible to try and scare the public into defeat. It isn't even a solid analogy.
