traits in other people that the touchstarved characters actually do like:
vere: competence. relationships are social capital to vere, first and foremost, and there's nothing quite as valuable as someone who is good at what they do. skill and confidence in said skill is attractive to him like nothing else. he likes the elegance of a job done well, though he'd be loathe to admit his feelings outright.
mhin: confidence. despite mhin's prickly demeanor, when someone has the confidence to push past their defenses and their sharp words, mhin can't help but feel drawn to them, much to their chagrin. they might give a half-hearted excuse of "it can't be helped," but no one is forcing them to spend time with this person...
leander: loyalty. for how often leander will say he "will love any part of a person," what he really values is an assurance that they won't betray him, and that they'll always stick by his side. if he orchestrates scenarios where he can test someone's loyalty just to see how far they would go for him, well, no one will know but him.
ais: defiance. there's nothing worse than someone catching ais's attention: like a cat with a mouse, all he wants to do is to mess with them. he'll poke and prod, and he gets the most amusement when they bite back. in fact, the reason he bothers people so much is to see how exactly far he can push them before they'll snap and give him an interesting reaction.
kuras: idiosyncrasy. as someone who has watched humanity since time immemorial, seen his share of vices and virtues, observed nations rise and fall, there's something charming about the various quirks and unique habits that each human has. he's especially charmed when someone can surprise him, a feat that can be difficult to pull off.
