Juanita R. Harang For over 45 years, Juanita R. Harang has worked with the Board of Directors of the Child Care Council of Greater Houston to provide high quality, affordable childcare to the community in the Greater Houston area. Since the beginning of the organization, Harang has made her imprint on many of its programs, each of which remains as a testament to her relentless effort to find a way for all children to receive the quality childcare they deserve. Anchored by her loyalty and quiet support, her actions have reached many of Houston’s diverse communities. Her involvement in any childcare oriented partnership or organization helps it deliver innovative, developmentally appropriate programs in line with her vision. Harang is responsible for the administration of the agency that is comprised of 30 staff members with direct operations at three locations. In addition, the agency manages contracts with 27 agencies to provide services to approximately 15,000 clients per year. She is responsible for the negotiation of all contractual arrangements and other agreements entered into by the agency including Housing and Urban Development, City of Houston, United States Department of Agriculture, Houston Independent School District, and Fort Bend Independent School District. Harang also plans and administers an annual operation budget of over $4.5 million dollars. She is responsible for maintaining liaison with community and neighborhood institutions, organizations and ethnic groups.
