A pharmacist--who knows exactly what chemo drugs do and has worked with cancer patients and oncologists--watched Kate's video and was basically "WTF?!" Chemotherapy drugs are hazardous chemicals that require special handling, dispensation, and removal. They don't cause people to just walk in a meadow and hold butterflies. They literally cause people to go "FUCK CANCER!" and re-evaluate all the things in life that they have have taken for granted.

Except for Will & Kate.

No, it caused them to go into overdrive with levels of PDA that we would associate with Harry & Meghan.

It caused them to also say "Fuck Harry and Meghan," but not actual cancer! You know, the disease Kate was allegedly fighting so hard these past months.

When you think about the fact that chemotherapy KILLS cells (and not just cancer cells!) and usually has severe side effects, even years later, it's pretty strange to hear someone focus on their overseas brother and sister-in-law!

Harry and Meghan are basically nobodies at this point. They jumped the shark a long time ago in the US. They do not make big waves anywhere, outside of their small fandom. But yet they still live rent free in Will & Kate's heads!

No thank you or acknowledgement to her medical team. Or acknowledgement of cancer charities or resources in the UK. Just me and my journey, complete with a godawful perfume montages. Or is it a Viagra commercial?

Will & Kate and their "fans" are completely out of touch. No one asked for this video, yet any critique of it is met with criticism that the general public "asked" for it.

They could have just put out the statement without any video or photo!

Tom Sykes' reporting has been pretty accurate these last few months. He reported about Kate not working at all in the future months ago; Kate confirmed it this week. And I have no doubt he's publishing this source's comments about "Fuck _____" because it's a pretty shocking statement to make after a "cancer" "battle." Because Will & Kate did a good job convincing other people that there has been no actual cancer battle.

Will & Kate do not have to talk to or engage Harry and his wife to any degree at this point. William attended his uncle's funeral this month and reportedly did not sit with or talk to Harry. Will & Kate have plenty of staff to intercept their phone calls and communications so that they do not have to talk to either Harry or his wife. The reporting has been pretty solid for at least a year that William does not talk to his brother. Kate doesn't talk to Harry's wife either.

Why are they so obsessed with Harry & Meghan when Kate is supposedly, oh, so busy with chemotherapy? And her health? The very health problem that has allegedly kept Kate from "working" all year?

Because most people who are undergoing something as grueling as cancer and chemotherapy treatments would not waste enough time thinking about their in-laws that they never talk to.

William's brother and sister-in-law live rent free in Will & Kate's heads!

Which says that Will & Kate were never worried about Kate's "cancer." Because that and the chemotherapy regimen never existed. Which is why Kate did not feel the need to publicly acknowledge any of her medical providers or refer anyone to cancer charities or resources or acknowledge anyone other than herself.

Kate has done a good job positioning herself as a modern-day Marie Antoinette, which is probably an insult to the actual Marie Antoinette.

It's not going to work out well for Kate in the long run. (Or her cult.)

Nigel Farage’s bank accounts were closed down after Coutts decided that his views “do not align with our values”, documents obtained by the former Ukip leader show.

A reputational risk committee “exited” Mr Farage after considering a dossier detailing his comments about Brexit, his friendship with Donald Trump and his views on LGBT rights among many reasons he was not “compatible with Coutts”.

The background briefing paper even made reference to Mr Farage’s friendship with Novak Djokovic, the former Wimbledon champion, as evidence that he was not as “inclusive” as the bank.

Earlier this month, the BBC and the Financial Times reported claims that the reason Mr Farage’s accounts were closed was that they fell below the financial threshold required by the bank. The BBC quoted sources “familiar with” the Coutts decision.

Yet in the 40 pages of documents released to Mr Farage after he made a subject access request to Coutts, the bank repeatedly says he “meets the EC [economic contribution] criteria for commercial retention”.

Writing for The Telegraph, Mr Farage accuses the private bank of “lying” about the real reason he was cut off, saying the documents show that the decision was politically driven.

He describes the file as a “Stasi-style surveillance report” and notes that the word Brexit appears in the report 86 times – which, he says, “perhaps tells us all we need to know”.

“Between 2014 and 2016, when I first banked with Coutts, no problems ever arose. After Brexit became a reality, everything changed,” he writes.

Minutes of a meeting of Coutts’ wealth reputational risk committee held on Nov 17 2022 state: “The committee did not think continuing to bank NF was compatible with Coutts given his publicly-stated views that were at odds with our position as an inclusive organisation.

“This was not a political decision but one centred around inclusivity and purpose.”

Mr Farage has said Coutts told him he was not being treated as a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) – a legal term for customers who are deemed risky for political reasons – but the dossier specifically states that he is one.

He writes: “Whoever at Coutts thought it clever to feed friendly media outlets outright lies about me sorely misjudged the situation.”

The document contains 39 mentions of Mr Trump, and Mr Farage says: “The fact that I support Donald Trump is part of this charge sheet.”

Speaking on Mr Farage’s GB News show, Lord Lamont, a former chancellor, said: “I was appalled when I looked at the documents.

“It seems to me a right to have a bank account is a fundamental right... but it appears that the executives of the bank were going through your views and saying they were not compatible with their values. That is not the function of a bank. It’s extraordinary that a bank should set itself up as some judge of political correctness.”

Some senior Tory MPs have called for a change in the law on PEPs to prevent abuse of the system. Under UK financial law, gatekeepers of the banking system must perform enhanced checks on people classed as PEPs, their families and close associates.

The Treasury has confirmed that it is reviewing whether banks are blacklisting customers with controversial political views. Under the new Financial Services and Markets Act, the Financial Conduct Authority will look at how banks deal with PEPs in a review to take place within the next year.

A spokesman for the Treasury said: “It would be of serious concern if financial services were being denied to anyone exercising their right to lawful free speech. 

“We will soon set out plans to crack down on this practice by toughening the rules around account closures, protecting freedom of expression. In the meantime, people can complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service which has the power to direct a bank to reopen an account.”

Supporters of Mr Farage have warned that the PEP rules are increasingly being used to turn away any customers whose views the bank might disagree with.

Mr Farage says he is consulting his lawyers to decide what action is appropriate in the light of his treatment by Coutts.

A Coutts spokesman said: “Our ability to respond is restricted by our obligations of client confidentiality. Decisions to close accounts are not taken lightly and take into account a number of factors including commercial viability, reputational considerations and legal and regulatory requirements.”

Lenny laughs, and Midge beams. "We are, in fact, the weaker sex," he says. "I didn't break an arm when my daughter - I have a daughter if you didn't know, Gordy."

"I did not," Gordon admits, lifting his brows in surprise.

"He told me while wearing only one shoe and doing the potty dance," Midge jumps in, bouncing on her toes in an exaggerated fashion.

Lenny barks another laugh. "Anyway, I didn't break an arm, but I did smash my fingers in the door of the cab. My ex almost strangled me when I complained about it."

Online Gambling

Internet Casinos Inc. (ICI), the world's first online casino, started operating from August 18, 1995, with 18 different games. Bets can range from a nickel to thousands of dollars and according to whether you win or lose the amount is automatically adjusted to your account. The final balance can then either be mailed to you or left for future bets.

The law relating to online gambling in India needs to be understood within the country's socio-cultural context. At the outset, gambling, although not absolutely prohibited in India, does not receive express encouragement by policy makers. The Indian organized gambling industry is estimated to be worth around US$8 billion. While stringent laws have checked the proliferation of casinos and high street gaming centres as in many other countries, barring the state of Goa, the lottery business remains the most post popular form of gambling.

Though gambling is not illegal, it is a highly controlled and regulated activity. Modern India is a quasi-federal Constitutional democracy and the powers to legislate are distributed at the federal as well as the state levels. Gambling features in List II of the Constitution of India, this implies that the state governments have the authority to enact laws in order to regulate gambling in the respective states. Thus, there is no single law governing gambling in the entire country. Different states have different laws governing gambling in addition to the laws that have an application across the country. While some states have banned lotteries, other states allow state government lotteries marketed and distributed in other lottery playing and promoting states through private entities.

Regulation of gambling

The courts have defined gambling as 'the payment of a price for a chance to win a prize'. The dominant element of skill or chance shall determine the nature of the game. A game may be deemed to be gambling if the element of chance or luck predominates in deciding its outcome. As a result, Indian courts have held that betting on horse racing and a few card games are not gambling. The right to undertake the business of gambling and lotteries is not considered as a fundamental right protected by the Constitution of India. The Public Gaming Act, 1867

This Act provides punishment for public gambling and for keeping of a 'common gaming house'. This Act also authorises the state governments to enact laws to regulate public gambling in their respective jurisdictions. The penal legislations in respective states have been amended in accordance with their policy on gambling. However, this legislation does not have any direct impact on online gambling unless a wide interpretation is given to the definition of common gaming house so as to include virtual forums as well.

The Indian Contract Act, 1872 (ICA)

The ICA is a codified umbrella legislation that governs all commercial contracts in India. Under the ICA, a wagering contract is the one which cannot be enforced. The Act lays down; 'Agreements by way of wager are void, and no suit shall be brought for recovering anything alleged to be won on any wager or entrusted to any person to abide by the result of any game or other uncertain event on which any wager is made'. Gambling, lottery and prize games have held to be wagering contracts and thus void and unenforceable. While a wagering contract is not illegal, it cannot be enforced in a court of law. Thus, the courts will not entertain any cause of action that arises out of a wagering contract.

Lotteries (Regulation) Act, 1998

This Act provides a framework for organizing lotteries in the country. Under this Act, the state governments have been authorized to promote as well as prohibit lotteries within their territorial jurisdiction. This Act also provides for the manner in which the lotteries are to be conducted and prescribes punishment in case of breach of its provision. Lotteries not authorized by the state have been made an offence under the Indian Penal Code. Several non-lottery playing states, like Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, have prohibited the sale of other state-government lotteries under this Act.

Indian Penal Code, 1860

Section 294A deals with keeping lottery office. It says that whoever keeps any office or place for the purpose of drawing any lottery not being a State lottery or a lottery authorised by the State Government, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine, or with both.

And whoever publishes any proposal to pay any sum, or to deliver any goods, or to do or forbear doing anything for the benefit of any person, on any event or contingency relative or applicable to the drawing of any ticket, lot, number or figure in any such lottery, shall be punished with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees.

Internet gambling

The law related to gambling is also applicable to online gambling. All gambling contracts are considered to be wagering contracts and it is not possible to enforce such contracts under the ICA, detailed above.

As pointed out earlier, the online lottery is the most popular form of internet gambling in India. Most companies marketing and distributing or conducting state government-sponsored lotteries through the internet are not allowed to sell their services in the states that banned lotteries. In most cases, these marketers and distributors limit their online services to consumers who are residents of the states where a lottery is permissible. Notwithstanding the fact there has been no reported case of breach by any company promoting online lotteries, most of these companies (as a safeguard) seek an undertaking from their consumers relating to their residence.

There have been instances where one state has banned the lottery of other states, including online lotteries. In a recent case, the Karnatka High Court upheld the decision of the Karnataka government to make itself a 'lottery free zone' by imposing a ban on lotteries of all other states, including online lotteries under the Lotteries (Regulation) Act 1998. The state government, in this case, directed the closure of the terminals and kiosks selling the online lotteries.

Enforcement over foreign jurisdictions

If the websites are hosted and operated from outside India, it may be difficult for the Indian authorities to issue any directive to close them down or prohibit their access without using its blocking powers under the ITA. The authorities have little to worry about, as Indian foreign exchange laws do not permit remittances outside India for gambling related activity, such as the purchase of lottery tickets, football pools and sweepstakes. As a result, a gambling website hosted outside India aiming at receiving money from within India cannot do so through legal channels.
