Dear god, how do children manage to make everything so unbelievably chaotic

Mom and sister came over with her two children, brought me late birthday cake

I think this was my first time experiencing chsis like this in years. The younger kid attempted to eat dried chestnuts i use for decoration, soil from a plant that stood on the floor, cables, shoes, a plastic crow i have for decoration, twice scattered soil on the ground, almost got into the kitty litter tray, almost terrorized the cat before i intervened, twice almost knocked a plant over himself

While the older kid run everywhere, screamed, pulled some of my stuff from drawers, almost knocked over a plant and then a painting, and made a small mess eating the cake

Three adult women could barely keep track of everything and actually keep the kids safe. Conversation was almost impossible to have

Im so grateful for my quiet little life with my cat who makes almost zero mess and only occassionally screams at me when she wants something, and for being able to just leave my stuff around and no one messing with it
