Given that the winter clock dialogue shows Flowey on the surface living with Frisk and their found family (unsure of actual living arrangements but assuming he lives with Frisk and Toriel), how do you think a REAL "yes, I used to be Asriel" conversation would come about?
The winter dialogue does have Toriel acknowledge him as "Asriel", but she was black-out drunk at the time so her thought process/memory in this case is debatable.
She has at least noticed key similarities between Asriel and Flowey, but even if she knows the truth there's nothing to suggest she's brought it up while sober.
I'm more interested in the prospect of a thoughtful conversation between the two after the fact. It seems kind of inevitable if Flowey is spending the rest of his life on the surface, but how would it go?
Would an uncomfortable Flowey have to deal with an emotional reunion? Would Toriel have a better understanding of his boundaries due to more recent shared experiences? How shocked would she be that a part of her first ever child was with her once again?
I'm absolutely positive that she would share custody with Asgore after it's out in the open, even if she isn't completely comfortable with it. Not sure how Sans would feel about things since it's pretty clear he's killed before, but a judge can't really do their job without the whole truth. Maybe he'd be willing to hear him out?
not sure where you're getting the "they're co-living and it's canon" from, flowey isn't shown to be living with toriel, neither is frisk mentioned in any of the dialogues. I'm assuming the implication here is that frisk IS the reader, and that ambiguity allows for both the "i want to stay with you" and "i have places to go" endings. we know flowey's not secluded to the RUINs anymore as was his original plan, and we know he's kept in contact with papyrus, who's trying to introduce him to the others (although unsuccessfully so far), but nothing more than that.
as for toriel, I don't think her calling him asriel was either intentional or rational. I think it was a subconscious expression of the ""true"" reason she's holed herself up in the RUINs trying to save the fallen humans. if a froggit happened to hop by at that moment, she would've done the same to it.
flowey/asriel reveal, huh? hm... let's see. to be honest, i don't think flowey would ever come clean about either his identity or his crimes to anyone else, especially not his old family. not of his own volition, that is. i could see some kind of indiscretion happening that causes him to reveal it on accident, but he would bolt it out of there as soon as he realized his cover was blown. he doesn't like confronting his issues! subsequent conversation attempts with him would be extremely emotionally immature and hard to get through, as the situation would temporarily undo some of his progress after leaving the underground as a trauma response. toriel... wouldn't be doing well either. super messy situation. no one is happy with this
the custody thing is really funny to me. mostly because i find the idea of trying to explain to a lawyer that you need to amend your divorce settlement bc you didn't know you had an undead son absolutely hilarious. but also because flowey would go out of his way to contradict it and do whatever he wants out of spite

Hi! What would the main 10 skeletons favorite Thanksgiving activities be?
Undertale Sans - Sans likes Toriel's cooking too much and Toriel doesn't know how to tell his friend is full so uh, Sans eats until he literally passes out on the table, so happy. He can't say no to another plate because he doesn't want to hurt her feelings so... Yeah. He's pretty much in a coma for three days after that.
Undertale Papyrus - He goes to see a football game with Undyne. None of them really understand what's going on but everyone is screaming and they're screaming too! Also, they discovered that apparently, only certain people could run after the ball after Undyne got kicked out for scoring because the players were taking too much time. Human culture is confusing.
Underswap Sans - He participates in a turkey trot and does his best to win because there's no way he's losing. He doesn't mind if it is supposed to be a playful event, he's tryharding until he collapses behind the finish line. He's proud of him!
Underswap Papyrus - He goes to see some parades in big cities. He doesn't like the crowd, but that's fine, he somehow convinced Asgore to come with him and Asgore is so impressive people stay at least ten meters away from him. He's having fun!
Underfell Sans - His brother wanted him to do something with the random turkey he brought into the garden, but Edge was talking too much so Red didn't listen and now he's not sure what he's supposed to do with the bird. So, uh, he freed the turkey hoping his brother won't notice. That's only after the turkey left that a random spot of publicity reminds him he was supposed to cook the turkey. Well, shit. He runs to the nearest shop to buy another lmao.
Underfell Papyrus - Toriel insisted Undyne and him sit down and tell each other nice things because apparently, Thanksgiving is about being kind to others? Obviously, Edge doesn't like that, but Toriel makes sure that Frisk stays in the room so, if Undyne and him starts insulting each other, she will roast them alive instead of the turkey in the oven. Ew. He's disgusted and after a long two minutes of just staring, he tells Undyne she has nice fingers. Pfew. He did it. That was even more painful than fighting against Asgore. He feels sick actually.
Horrortale Sans & Papyrus - They organized a big Thanksgiving meal with all the monsters of the Underground on his farm. They do that each year, and it makes them feel a little better to see they are each year a little more than the precedent year. Monsterkind is slowly rebuilding and moving on. They also celebrate Gyftmas that day so they can all have more gifts at Christmas a month later. What, they're clever, don't be jealous.
Swapfell Sans - He prevents his brother from dying and that actually takes a lot of time. They are invited to share a meal with the Queen, but Rus... Rus thinks it's a good opportunity to tell the old bitch what he thinks of her, and alcohol definitely doesn't help. Toriel neither by the way, especially when she broke one of his brother's ribs because apparently, you have to break a wishbone or something on that day. Nox just wants to go home and sleep for three days, please.
Swapfell Papyrus - After Toriel breaks one of his ribs, Rus says that's ok because Thanksgiving is also about giving back. Then he punches her in the face. After that, he has to run the fastest turkey trot of his life because the Queen wants his head on a spit.
Fellswap Gold Sans - He's before all a business man so he goes shopping on Black Friday. Except he is merciless. Women, men, children, no one will stand between him and whatever he wants to buy. He's biting people's legs, throwing bones, and fistfighting everyone getting in the way. He doesn't need six televisions but he's still going to buy them just because he can!
Fellswap Gold Papyrus - He's all cozy in his room with the pumpkin pie he stole from the fridge, a big plaid and watching cliche Christmas movies in his bed and crying because that's so beautiful how Karen realized Jack-Sexy-Muscles was actually Santa Claus all along. He doesn't need more, really.

What do you think would martlet, starlo and ceroba thoughts on finally seeing the surface and on frisk?
anon ily for letting me talk abt this …
i think before the barrier would be broken but after frisk falls in that they definitely get the news that there’s a human around. and i think they all get together and collectively agree to stay as away as possible because they don’t want a repeat of last time; they loved clover and their death took a TOLL on them. they don’t want to go through that again.
and then the barrier is broken. joy.
martlet to start out i think she’d be fairly eager to see the surface. i mean it’s the SURFACE so like that’s cool! and having more room to fly about would also be nice i think. as for frisk…
frisk reminds her of clover— and frisk reminds all of them of clover really but martlet takes it in a sense where she probably accidentally calls frisk ‘clover’ by accident sometimes. she really doesn’t mean to it’s just !! it’s just how it is. and therefore she’s a lot more open to frisk than she would’ve been had clover never came through (and obviously she would’ve been open, but i mean like. moreso.)
starlo is probably disappointed at first that he can’t actually ‘ride into the sun’ but that is VERY quickly overshadowed by the fact that HOLY FUCK THATS THE SUN!!!!!! and its a star!?!?!?? and also i think he’d be shocked that the surface isn’t like the movies. but its alright. he can jsut head over to texas or something.
he’s similar to martlet in the regard that frisk reminds him of clover but he acts different than her. instead he’s more like, hes friendly and all but he isn’t like all up trying to be best friends or anything. he sees the traits clover had in frisk and it’s really bittersweet. probably really lost on how to feel about it entirely though bc come on. who would know??
ceroba is probably the most reluctant to go to the surface— because like, her family never gets to see this but she does? she doesn’t know how fair that is but i think she does go up anyway because you know, she has more life to live and stuff with her friends and whatnot. so that’s the surface
as for frisk…… she’s definitely dead set on they’re going to die at first. and then she’s not. and then she doesn’t know what to do because she doesn’t want to get attatched to this random ass child but then the random ass child frees monsterkind?? it’s definitely confusing and she definitely tries to keep her distance at first but eventually i think she’d warm up to frisk :)

I wanna have opinions so uh, what do you think of my SacredFell AU? (So far anyway haha)
Hello, my mutual compadre, @littleyukki5033 , I have traveled down to the depths of your blog and will now commence judgment.
Kehehehe. ψ(`∇´)ψ
[Gonna be long, I like/wanted to try making my responses worthwhile and attentive, to show you I went in on your AU and posts.]
(And you can laugh at me or with me on this, but I may not be the best at giving opinions, 😖 I think. Just know I'm typing this with my miniscule overthinkin’ brain and hurt wrist.)
START!
Feb 4: Don’t be afraid to post your AU and talk about it, beautiful or not, unique or not, complicated or not, similar or not, cringe or not, demented or not, eh or not.
Share your mind, you’ll find people who share it with you. And if you get hate, show them San’s ass or something. It tells others how nonexistent they are to you. (though I’ve seen someone draw Sans very beautifully thicc, we will keep in mind he is bones, which we indeed simp for).
Observe Exhibit A:
Tumblr media
(I found this silly image saved on my desktop, so I thought it'd be cool to share it with you.)
So never let a negative comment change your love and view of your au and undertale.
Undertale is amazing, it’s good to ramble, even if others don’t talk about it, even if you’ll never get reciprocated. There’s other people there reading it, like me sometimes I read and forget to heart, or I don’t heart a post because I don’t wanna bombard their notifications and all that.
Yes, post your art, even if you’ve got no idea what to post, doodle, ask for ideas, or even take a break. I think it’s beautiful to share your mind’s eye. Show no fear, you’ve got this!
Everyone starts where you were once.
Feb 12: Your Introduction of your own Underfell AU called SacredFell
I am interested. I am in fact one of many who are and will be interested for days to come, for as long as you build and love your AU, as it becomes whatever completion you dreamt of it to be, so on and so forth, even if one day you stop.
I’m finna be there bruh, late or on time.
And imma let you know that right now as you reading this. You actually asked me first about your AU and lemme tell you, you beat me to it. I actually have fanart for you. AND was gonna find a time to ask you first.
Tumblr media
(~(>_<。)\ Usually I'm ready to send art cause I plan before hand, but someone used a wrist twist move on me for fun recently. ಥ_ಥ)
Anyway, moving forward.
Frisk and Chara of SacredFell: I enjoy teh designs. And me personally, I like Frisks design, the fact Frisk went through multiple design phases is nice to know. Would you ever show Frisk's previous designs?
Oof, you changed SacredFell Sans height from 5’2 to 6ft, damn what a stretch. And he part of the Royal Guard, whoa! 😆hotsome big skeleman.
Also, I love the art style of @/melikitinas, too. 💖
Feb 14: … ScaredFell Papyrus…. I-... 11ft height, yeah, we gonna need a height chart. I short, so they a fucking tree at this point, imagine Paps just bending at the waist towards a shorty like me, he’s gotta be prone on the ground or something. AND his fine ass a 2nd in Command Royal Guard, too. ○( ^皿^)っ AWWHEHESJDHWU ✨
Feb 21: LORE Ah, so the beginning is different, interesting. *reads through it with glasses* (I was recently working on my other OCs at the time as well :D.)
Tumblr media
Yukki sounds like a good character! And portaled? Oooooh, portaled, I wanna know backstory!
Did Yukki not go through the ruins? She just collapsed in Snowdin? Was she unconscious the entire time she was taken to Asgore, up until Toriel saved her?
And usually humans, are strong, is Yukki weak due to something? (you don’t have to reveal too much lore unless you wanna) How much power does Yukki have? Why does it drain so quickly?
Also, love Toriel, to save one instead of all, what a mother. Even if Yukki wasn’t her own, that was such a big sacrifice for the price of saving one child over freedom. I would love to see how you draw that part out.
And Toriel left Yukki behind the waterfalls, why not take Yukki with her?
Why out of all the souls, Kindness was taken, would this serve as a significant plot point in the AU?
Would Yukki grow to harbor bad intent or negative emotions towards the monster or would she end up sacrificing herself after understanding the monster’s want for freedom, would she find another way, would she resort to genocide at some point(despite her being weak)?
Would Toriel come in clutch next time Yukki is in grave danger?
And what plans would Asgore have after he gets Toriel, I would’ve expected that he wanted Toriel dead, not with a bounty on her head to be returned ALIVE to his home. I'm probably just thinking to the extremes. 😂
I like this plot. I’d love to know how Frisk and Yukki will come together. And if within the one or two years, Yukki stayed with Sans and Papyrus, would the brothers falter when they need to get their jobs done for Asgore when the time comes? Would Sans and Papyrus eventually come to value Yukki as their own friend? Does Yukki know Sans and Papyrus are working to gain her trust to betray her in the end?
Also is Toriel and Sans doing the knock knock joke through the gate in this AU too? What’s Toriel’s relationship with the characters so far? Within the time Yukki was living in the Underground, does she come to meet Toriel again?
Feb 23: YUKKI I agree Yukki is a main focal point in the beginning of this AU, I really like this. I can’t wait to see how you build this lore up. Would Toriel act again when Frisk comes? Would Toriel talk to Frisk about Yukki? How old is Yukki again? To me, Yukki looks like she has a strong presence, tongue sticking out, seems playful. ✨
Feb 27: Comic Heh. Middle school art is always nostalgic to look back on. I wish I still had some of mine. I threw most out due to the fact, I didn’t want physical evidence of my cringe art tying back to me, but looking back on it now. I was stupid and paranoid.
Now cringe art is one of my favorite art pieces to discover, it brings a certain emotion outta you, am I right? Yeaahh.
Anyway, I admire you for sharing your old art and comic.
An AU, especially when a creator is lovingly dedicated to it, can become hectic and mentally crowded and out of order, or as you say “all over the place.” Good luck on that journey, creating comlex stories is hard! I was overwhelmed by my own ideas and burned out at some point and stopped entirely. You make me wanna go back to my little world.
And Yukki and SacredFell Sans look like they get along noicely. yukki hand on her hip, confidence and power ✨👌 makin' Sansy sweat.
Mar 7: Yay Toriel Character Sheet Me like tall woman. She taller than Sans, haha. I gotta learn how to draw a goat at some point. And she looks good in my opinion. Do SOUL Protectors gain power from the souls? Wouldn't they accidentally at some point absorb the soul? Has any of the protectors even thought of doing that? Doesn't the barrier need one monster soul and one human soul to break the barrier, or is that different in this AU?
Mar 11: Another comic redraw, SacredFell Asgore WIP
Aw SacredFell Sans and Yukki smiling together, your old drawing of them is cute. ANd that’s a jump, good to know they're out of the underground. Hope you eventually find the right design for Yukki, that you’re gonna be satisfied with. I’m excited to find out how they got out of the underground, too.
What's the key on Sans? And the heart necklace on Yukki?
And yes, I think Tumblr does something with the quality of an image when posted, because compared to my computer view, my phone view of some posts are different a bit.
Yass, show off the Goat man.
ANd I also saw your Avatar DTIYS, looks awesome! I love the coloring, shading, and perspective!
Mar 15: Update Eh, it didn’t take a while for me to gather info on your AU, it was spread out a little yes, but not so much, for me the pacing was alright.
Ah and the ask blogs, yeah I dunno how I’m doing this tbh.
And a webtoon would be great! But I hear it’s a lot of work to put into it, take small steps, so you won’t stress or burn yourself out. But I would definitely read teh webtoon if you were to make one.
Mar 16: SacredFell Undyne WIP I love Undyne, I just dunno how to draw her yet. Love the art! She pretty.
Mar 16: SacredFell Flowey Flowey in a bag, hahahahaha. I like how annoyed he looks in the drawing.
Mar 17: SacredFell Monster Kid Another main character, you developing a lot of lore right now I bet. I wonder how MK will play out in your AU.
Mar 18,22 : It’s UNDYNE >.< Fangirling. Another Tall strong woman. And missing parents during gaster’s disappearance, is this what I think it is, a lore hint?!?!
Mar 23: Alphys Alphys is gonna be somewhat of a sly character in the plot huh, wow! And she fights, you gotta make art of that at some point! Alphys having bravery is interesting!
Pfft, you spelled “Bavery” I didn’t even notice until you mentioned it.
Mar 23: Gaster I love how you drew Sans and Papyrus in at Gaster’s “You’re in Trouble” expression.
And me like the tinted glasses as well.
Mar 24: Mettaton! He a Bravery SOUL Decoy! Was that Alphy’s idea to make him like that? Is he famous in the underground as well? He’s a looker. And he got four arms! Yuuusss!
Mar 26?: Muffet Indeed a 5’7 lady spider is a cutie patootie, the arms are good, multiple is betta. Good design!  And she is also part of the Royal Guard, what will the fight be like? I’m curious!
Mar 26?: That Sacredfell Mini Comic/Story was nicely put together! The end where SacredFell Sans responds with, “I don’t know.” I enjoyed reading this conversation! And Undyne in her royal armor MWUAH!
So from all this, hopefully I did something good for you, most are just questions and comments, but I hope it served as an answer. *ahem*
A new character was added. [Yukki] = Will lead to more plot. *Check*
There’s a different backstory before the arrival of Frisk. *Check*
Toriel makes an act against Asgore before leaving, Asgore ordering Sans and papyrus to gain Yukki’s trust until the “time” comes = Complicated relationships *Check*
I can fangirl, which means I can simp, which means, I’m invested. ✨ *CHECK CHECK CHECK*
The concept is really good! (The fact Asgore would entrust the souls to another and make them SOUL Protectors, and you still fight Alphys even in the pacifist route, and I sense "things" though not sure what, but it makes me look forward to your lore.) *ChecK*
It’s a Fell type Universe. (I love Underfell) *CHECK*
The art is noice!!!! *CHecK*
I find interest in how characters will interact or encounter each other. *Check*
I can see the work put into this AU! I see their dedication based from the dates you posted things about your AU. I really look forward to seeing how you continue to develop and make art for your SacredFell AU! With what you’ve shown at this time, I can happily tell you, for me this AU is interesting, there’s potential in many areas, character development, choice of dialogue, different relationship dynamics, personality, world building, plot changes, etc.
I wish I had more to say, I think most of my response here sounded... I think repetitive, maybe some questions were even answered already and I didn't catch it? Though hopefully I conveyed to you that I think you're doing well for what've you've shown thus far!
That's my grand opinion. 😁✨
Also, I found you through graphictale au. 💕💖👌✨
😙 Both ya'll wonderful.

Humans' situation
So there are few things I need to explain in Undermourning. So here we go (it's gonna be very, very long ;)):
How does twins (and other humans) move between the Ruins and the rest of the Underground?
That's the first thing. So twins' tactic isn't anything complicated actually.
At first they did it when Toriel wasn't in the house. They would only leave a note for Toriel with some excuse about their absence. They also had Flowey by their side and he could easily check if it's safe for them to come back without Toriel noticing where are they coming back from.
However they couldn't always wait for Toriel to leave. So tactic they're using most often is: Natalie, who is more likely to leave the Ruins quickly and quietly talks with Toriel (somewhere where stairs aren't in sight) about her and Sofia going somewhere. In the meantime, Sofia is leaving first. Then, after Natalie explained everything to Toriel, she leaves herself. Quickly and quietly. Just in case, Sofia has came up with a few excuses they can use, when they get caught.
After Frisk has fallen into the Underground, twins were thinking for a little while if they can trust eighteen year old with their little secret and show him the rest of the Underground. However, they eventually decided to do it and they didn't regret it. However, they weren't as trusty with next humans who fall in future years. Especially Sunday and Cameron, who aren't the best persons to trust... and live with. However, twins trusted Jayden quite quickly. About Cora, they never showed her the rest of the Underground before the fight, cause they knew that as soon as queen finds out that there's seven humans in the Underground, they're doomed. So twins only explained to her the whole thing.
And how did anyone from the rest of the Underground never find out about them living in the Ruins? ...Who has said nobody knows? Okay, first things first. It's usual thing that a lot of monsters would ask twins about where are they living. However, they would often dismiss those who would ask. Sometimes, when they would know that someone will respect their secrets, like Papyrus, they would say right away to do not ask them about it. They don't like to hide things from their friends, but they also didn't want Toriel to find out and others to find out about Toriel's place.
Did someone try to follow them to find out where they live? There are always some people that would try to solve a mystery, so that's obvious. However, twins, and later other humans who would go by their tips, has their ways to avoid them knowing. Before coming back, they would leave themselves enough time to wander sometime and try to lose themselves from potiential followers' eyes. They would also sometimes come into some places where night could be spend. Usually before coming back to the Ruins, they come into Inn in Snowdin and spends there a while, talking to innkeeper. Then, they usually goes where the trees are densely spaced. What is worth mentioning, when Sofia was trying to help Papyrus get into the Royal Guard, actual bars were set before the Ruins exit. You can say that twins have borrowed one of spare keys to them.
Later thanks to Frisk, twins found out that Undyne and probably people close to the ruler, like the Royal Guard knows where they live and where Toriel lives. So they didn't really care that some of guards would find out, since they've already known. If we're talking about guards, humans rather pretend that they hide it from them. However, they are still careful with other monsters.
War Plans
A good plan is very important part of a war. You can clearly see that studying history. Sofia and Natalie also know that, especially Sofia. When they finally decided that fight is a necessity, they had a problem in establishing their tactic. They both wanted to wait for seven humans to come. However, despite Frisk falling recently, Sofia thought it might take too long. Natalie also become more doubtful about it. So they started thinking about three-persons plans. They and Frisk also have begun training more often.
No human has fallen down for nearly two years. But finally in 2020 Sunday fell into the Underground. That gave twins more hope. But then, another problem had appeared. Other humans' attitude. You see, they noticed that Sunday is not the best person to work with. Even if other humans will fall in the future, what if they'll have same attitude as Sunday? Twins understood they can't just make soldiers that would just listen to them without questioning their orders. So they created general plan, and as another humans were falling, they were updating and adapting it to fit said humans. They also tried to slowly guide these humans into this situation, knowing they may feel uneasy getting thrown into it like that. Twins tried not to let them get to attached to monsters they meant to fight with. Excluding Papyrus to some extent. After all, it's difficult to even imagine Papyrus actually wanting Undyne's plan to happen.
But what plan actually was? Let me show you: In general, taking down Royal Guards and other, loyal to gueen people. Removing queen herself. If someone gives up, they're getting spared. Including queen, though obviously she's probably not going to do that. No civilians are getting hurt, unless they're joining to the battle on queen's side. Toriel's going to become a new queen. But if she refuse or monster don't want her as a queen, they can just choose their ruler.
About roles that were given to humans as plan developed: Frisk is the one that meant to kill Undyne. Natalie mostly takes care of guards in Hotland and then supports Frisk if it's needed. Sofia is the one to take care of guards in Snowdin. Since Cora had no fighting skills or time to train, she supports Sofia, mostly holding food and arrows for her. Cameron and Sunday mostly takes care of Waterfall, while Jayden makes sure they won't hurt anyone else than guards. If someone's work is finished, they can support others. + Flowey makes sure no one tries to enter the Ruins. Ya know, just in case.
Execution
What about execution of this plan?... Well, did you read "Chara" story? In "War Route" part, Chara is talking about how bad others are feeling with it. He mentions that Monster Kid Teen's family is gone, and that Lamef is traumatized. Well, now I think I want to change this dialogue a little, but you get the point, right? Especially with death of MK's family. Civilians also got hurt or even died. Though Jaydan was doing his best, it is mostly Sunday and Cameron's fault. Chara made these two hateful and cruel. He even scripted some events, so even though these two may have some good qualities, they're just forced to act in certain way. Like killing MK's family is scripted. It happens always in this route. However, he doesn't have to script so many things so this route would be unhappy enough for Frisk to reset.
That's all for today. It was long, I know. And yet, I think I could tell ya about few more things. Welp. Maybe some other time. For now, bye!

The Ancients
For those following me for the extra info for my silly AU all for my story, Ancients and Champions.
I figured it was time to really discuss the Ancients (Gods) and their Champions in more details.
Mostly because I can't info dump everything in the story as the charaters just wouldn't know.
You all ready?
Before anthing else some basic information. Each Ancient has a specialty and some special abilities to go with it and each has a special ability only for them, they will be mentioned. Further, each Ancient can make at least one Champion (limits will be mentioned) but naming a Champion cuts a part of their power, they give this to the Champion to do their job. They usually pick monsters or humans who has the same soultrait colour as they represent because that means their goals often times line up and that makes working together easier.
Another thing, Ancients don't actually have souls nor actual physical bodies. They are made completely out of magic that they get from the natural ley lines in the world which they also feed back into as they can also generate their own magic. But because they lack souls they are very much only concentrated on their own soultrait and specialty. So yes they can feel but it will always be slightly coloured and influenced by they own magic (which goes with a soultrait)
You guys got that? Cool.
Let's go by trait.
Determination. (red soultrait)
The Ancient for determination is called Fate. This comes from the fact that those with this soultrait are able to chance fate by surviving things they shouldn't be able to (which is also why sometimes people in my fic refer to this trait as Survival)
Fate isn't in the story as of yet and travels a lot. They don't get seen a lot and go by They/She/He/It. They don't care how you refer to them.
Fate is special in the way that they don't have a limit to how many Champions they can have. Unlike the other Fate does not lose any of their power when naming a Champion. This also means that Fate is the only Ancient who does not have anytype of working relationship with their Champions.
Yup. Fate just goes around, names Champions wherever they go and is on their way.
Who does Fate name to be Champion? Any strong determined soul they find who they think needs a bit of a boost.
Like, kids in a difficult situation to name a situation. (Yes this does mean that both Chara and Frisk with their determined souls and troubled pasts were named Champions)
Fate's Champions, called Wish Makers, have the ability to turn back time just a tiny bit to reappear at their last most determined and save moment. This is normally only a few minutes, but with Frisk this caused their ability with the Save and Load options.
And that is Fate! Next on the list.
2. Bravery. (Orange soultrait)
The Ancient of Bravery is called Knight. (yes, this is a reference to Delta Rune).
Knight is not a complicated Ancient. He wants to better the world and isn't afraid to do the work. He goes by He/Him and names Champions, who become his fellow knights. (yes, he named his Champions after himself. The Ancients aren't very creative) Knight has a limit of naming two Champions at a time. He could in theory name more Champions but that would leave him to weak to do work himself.
He is one of the few Ancients who still likes to interact wiht mortals and do work himself. He goes around and does hero work to better the world.
Knight special ability is unknown as a whole to the others as he hasn't used it. But he is able to actually speak and understand animals. Which the other Ancients ironically can not.
And that was Knight, I know, not a lot but Knight is a rather straight forward guy.
3. Justice. (yellow soultrait)
As the people following me know, the Ancient of Justice is Judge! Who we have met! Judge goes by they/them. Their name comes from the fact that they cast judgement on the mortals and tries to keep the peace.
Judge didn't like interacting with mortals before. They prefered to stay with their follow Ancients. Before they tended to stay with Knight, and yes you could consider Knight and Judge to have been friends.
Back when the human/monster war started Knight and Judge split up to better do their jobs better. Judge decided to stay with the royal boss monster family and work their job from there.
Only to be locked underground.
This, is the first time when Judge actually named a Champion. Mostly because they needed help to try and break out and interact with the world.
Now, why would Judge make a Champion if they needed to get out and break the barrier? Why cut their own power?
Because the power dynamic between Ancient and Champion is weird. Yes, it cuts the Ancient's powers when making them. But being near the Champion boosts their powers much higher than it originally was. (Imagine, having a HP bar. You take like a 25% cut of your original HP. But get like a 100% boost with shielded HP. It is that type of system).
Problem is, when an Ancient cuts part of their power, their powers can overwrite the person they are trying to name Champion, monsters are especially sensitive to this as they are made of magic. If the Ancient magic cut is larger than the amount of magic a monster (or human) has, the champion looses all sense of self and becomes nothing more than a puppet. Judge, who never did this before and had no idea how to limit themselves with this, ended up puppeting 4 different monsters around in the underground, three of which ended up dusting. The last one, Gerson, was released of his duty when Judge decided.
Yes, an Ancient can un-name a Champion whenever they want, but once they are an ex-champion they can never be a Champion again for any of the Ancients.
Judge ended up naming Sans a Champion, and because Sans as a shitton of magic, Sans did not lose his sense of self. Seeing as Sans' soultrait is Patience and Judge is very much Justice, they sometimes clash in their opinions.
Judge special ability is that they can read minds. They don't even have to be with someone to do this. None of the other Ancients can do this unless they are linked with the mortal as their Ancient/Champion. Judge does not need to link to do this but they don't always use this ability. It gets loud and they don't care enough about everyone to bother with knowing what everyone thinks.
4. Kindness (Green soultrait)
The Ancient of Kindness is Life. But she also goes by other names, Think Mother Earth, Mother Nature. Stuff like that. She goes by She/Her.
Her only mission is to create more life and see it flourish.
At the moment she has no Champions. If she were to have Champions she would have four. One for each season.
5. Patience (Cyan soultrait)
The Ancient of Patience is Past & Future.
Yes, that is their full name. I will call them P&F.
P&F goes by they/them. But unlike Judge they prefer to be refered to as plural. They are just weird like that. They were also the first one to leave their fellow Ancients to find their own permanent spot. They settled and have not moved since.
They have a curious process to pick their Champion. They are pretty much living in a town on top of a mountain at the moment. and families train and try to become worthy of being their Champion. P&F always has two Champions. Called their Oracles, Past and Future. P&F always picks two Champions at the same time from around the same age, just to make sure the Champions have someone to interact with and talk to that understands them.
P&F has the ability to see the Future, the Past and the Present. Which is why they mostly remain away from everything else but will know what is generally going on. Of course they aren't all knowing because a lot is happening all the time and it is hard to see and hear everything.
Their special power? Being socially capable. Which is only me partly joking. It mostly comes down to the fact that Past and Future can actually fully feel all the emotions that normally only come with a soul, even though as Ancient they don't have a soul and so feel things differently.
6. Integrity (Dark blue soultrait)
The Ancient of Integrity is Death. Yup.
Mostly because Death does not discriminate, it does not care what you did or who you are. In the end Death comes for everyone. the absolute equal.
Death saw Life creating a lot, and i mean, a LOT of life and decided, hey... you should stop or you will overpopulate everyone. So Death specialised and ever since Life has hated him.
Death goes by he/him btw. Mostly because he thought, euh, I am already the opposite of Life, I may as well commit to it.
Death is also patient, He doesn't really care if someone lives longer or 'cheats' death. He knows in the end all will be with him and he will guide the souls to rest.
Because that is his mission. To make sure that the souls that die can fully rest, to make sure new room is created for the new souls, and to help lost souls either move on or return to live if they have unfinished business.
Death only has one Champion. The Champion is the one who will go after the souls who are lost while Death manages the general flow of death. Death likes to hang around with his Champion and interact with them. Death calls his Champion his Reaper. (Yes it was a coincidense that Reaper was already called Reaper and Deatha dn him both just shrugged at the coincidence and went about their day).
This does mean that Death can stop the flow of death. Making every single creature on the planet immortal for as long as he wants to, he doesn't as he knows the balance between life and death is important and so stays on top of his job but it is important that you know it is possible.
Death being able to stop the flow of death is also their special ability.
and now, on to the last Ancient.
7. Perserverance. (purple soultrait)
And here we are. The last one. The Ancient of Perserverance is... Nim. (Yes, it is a reference to DreamTale and it was suposed to be just a reference but than my story kept growing and now I am to commited to the bit to give up)
Why did I make Nim (a character that is NOT mine) the last Ancient?
Because I wanted Dream and Nightmare to be the start of the next generation of Ancients and well.... they only got one mom. And it felt wrong to just... give them another mom. So Nim is now the Ancient of Perserverance!
What is her specialty? Magic. She is the Ancient of Magic. (in this story she uses she/her, i am sorry if this is incorrect i am not up to date with all the lore of the other AUs. I am very sorry.)
She pretty much regulates the flow of magic in this world. She maintains and checks the ley lines in the planet and her tree serves as a point where the ley lines are closest to the planets surface and actually interactable.
She normally only has one Champion, a Guardian. The guardian's job is to either, guard the tree while she checks the ley lines. Or, check the ley lines while she guards the tree.
Her special power is that she can shape shift to fit any form she wants. This also enables her to merge with her tree whenever she wants but also to take the form of just an everyday human or monster and go about her day with other mortals.
And that is all of them!
When I finish the sketches for them I will add links to personal bios and sketches to show how I imagine them but until now I hope this ties you guys over!
Have a great Sunday.

EVAAAANNNN
Tumblr media
Evan is very introverted and shy, opting to do his own thing and hang around with his extended family (aka the majority of the UT cast). He feels most understood by Frisk, who he considers a cousin. They both talk a lot about what its like to be associated so closely to Monsters, and living in a Human-heavy society.
Despite being an incredibly successful experiment into how a Human Soul and a Monster Soul could be combined, Evan is still a tad unstable. There’s been a few incidents where he has had to be taken back into the labs and reassessed, but currently he’s doing much better. He’s also got his fair share of medical issues that come with the strong will of Determination, mixing in a Monster-based body; He’s got supports for this spine and back (his spine holding his ribs arms and head) along with medication for supporting his soul. He's very self-conscious about his bizarre appearance, and he's under the impression it'll freak people out.
Being not part of such a huge event of all Monster-kinds lives made him extremely curious about it all. No one had really talked to him about it, and he didn’t really know who to ask. He vaguely mentions something to Frisk about it, but they just say it was tough all around and everyone is trying to move on. Which just makes him more curious. At some point he plans to go into the Underground, but he's stopped by Sans, who just says "kid you could have asked me. i don't mind tellin ya"
….also…. people don’t know this…. but Steve is… very not human… they're basically a demi-god... and this amplified some of Sans’s powers… yeah. oopsies!
also gonna link my post about his dads here too. Its not long but i think they're funny (I should give them the same treatment i did for Exe and Hero and making them a fanfic mmmmmm)
Extra deets :))))
Evan takes so much after Sans and it scares everyone. One time, he made some kind of pun towards Papyrus, and he deadpan stared at him and said "Sans literally said the exact same thing." and Evan laughed.
I'm also a huge believer in 'Sans is a really good dad' and he would probably do anything for Evan. Steve is also a good dad, but more in the way of "this being is so small and im so terrified to hold him but my gods would i do anything for him. look at him this is my son,,,,"
Evan first met Toriel when he was younger and he was feeling a bit out of place for one of the first times. He had ran off and she scooped him up and gave him some Butterscotch Pie which made him feel a lot better. It became a bit of a tradition after this; whenever Evan was kind of feeling sad or worried, he'd visit Toriel to eat pie with her :)
Mettaton really REALLY wanted Evan to be on his show, but he's way too camera shy and full of anxiety that he kind of can't. Instead, MTT does a mock up version (no cameras and no crew) and they ended up talking for hours and he forgot he actually had a real show to do.
Though its not happened, but I had the thought anyway, but Evan can melt. and he could potentially reset the timeline, since he could probably have enough Determination to do it. It wouldn't be a major reset though, since Frisk saves everyday before they sleep and in the morning and they have the major control over the timelines

More UnderSwap Stuff
Asgore is the guardian of the Ruins. He's kinda and gentle yet blames himself for what happened to his children and with Toriel. Doesn't hate Toriel but also doesn't want to get back with her just yet (he's more forgiving than her cannon version). He's slightly graying and wears reading glasses but also has cool orange and blue sunglasses when he's vibing. He actually wears a professor kind of outfit (turtleneck sweater and tweed vest) with a pink flower tie under his robe. Kinda a dork. More reluctant to fight you than Toriel. Makes really good tea as opposed to pie. Likes to read about slimes (foreshadowing for future swap). When you call and flirt with him after you call him dad he replies "Why'd you have to call me daddy is such a suggestive way my child". Believed Frisk to be the future of humans and monsters yet also believes that if things don't change there will be no future for either.
Toriel is the reluctant queen. She put herself in charge and looks down upon Asgore (she doesn't want to admit he's right). She's stubborn and kind of a bitch. She sucks at gardening and instead knits. What does she knit? Duplicates of the Temmie Plush her lost child had. Can't handle grief. Offers pie to you before the fight. Despite her curvy armor she's still rectangular. Uses a scepter with MKs face engraved on it to never forget why she's doing this. Instead of keeping coffins for the humans she dolls for each of them (just an excuse to design the other 6 fallen human who actually do swap). She's more cold than Asgore but only because she knows that if she lets the slightest emotion show she'll break down in tears.
Alphys is the captain of the Royal Guard. Her building is completely different from Undyne's tall and slender body. She's short and stocky and proud. Her weapon, an axe, reflects this which opposes the thin spear Undyne uses. Don't worry she's not wearing actual skulls. Just replicas. Trains with Sans but doesn't let him join because of his low stats and just the fact he's a middle aged man in a mock superhero costume. Has trouble controlling her anger. Has a tough and gruff voice but a squeaky laugh. Unlike most swap Alphys she's just as THICC outside of her armor as she is inside and is proud of the way she is. She still has a crush on Undyne she refuses to admit even more than cannon Undyne. Doesn't wear an eye patch because she thinks her scar makes her look more badass. Also has a crush on the queen (she likes dominant women) but not the player (with the whole hating humanity thing) or the unknown (she doesn't believe in that). A bit more willing to do her "date" since she admires the humans ability to outdo her. Passes out not from heat but just from exhaustion as it never occurred to her to train in cardio but still requires water. Anime is real right?!?
Undyne is the royal scientist. Likes anime styles video games slightly more than anime. Her favorite is Oki Doki Art Club starring Hop Hop Muscly Sorree (or some name like that). Has anime body pillows. Experiments with determination. Wants to insert herself into your invention. Built Napstablook a robot body after coming to his video game club. Still kinda hot headed. Has a slight lisp as opposed to a stutter. Should wear braces but doesn't because she doesn't want to look like a "complete nerd". Gets flustered easily. Keeps secrets..... Is blind in one eye but never tells anyone how. Her date dress is the same one cannon Mettaton wears during the music segment but more proportionate to her (she claims she looks like a cute anime girl in it and you better agree with her on that).
Hapstablook (yes that's what I'm calling him. Deal with it) is the recluse ghost. Dreams of being an actor but has stage fright. Afraid of criticism and flustered by praise. Easily startled with makes him cry glittery tears. The houses don't swap just the details of them. I know cannon swap Mettaton isn't pink but I think it's fitting for him to have a slight pink hue. A hopeless romantic who writes romance stories of star crossed lovers. Listens to motivational podcasts through his earbuds. Has a Fancyblook attire where he makes either a fancy hat or dress with his tears (I can't decide). Gender fluid. His covered eye is heart shaped but he finds it grotesque which is why he covers it. Wishes he had legs. Owns a slime farm which he and his cousin cared for. Misses his cousin. Would you smooch a ghost?
Napstabot is the idol of the underground. His box form is an old timey radio and his ex from incorporates sound equipment. Doesn't cover his eye but it does glow during neo form (which will be revealed on the special genocide addition. More masculine than Mettaton and uses bro rather than darling. Instead of oh my he says "radical!!!!". Uses a fake nineties cool dude voice but his real voice is soft and gentle. Likes his arms more than his legs which is demonstrated in the order they fall off. He gets more easily flustered by compliments as he's not used to direct compliments. He's also not used to insults which cause his self esteem to shatter and he starts crying but eventually he will get over it and even try and better himself. He actually cries ALOT in private. He also isn't as social as he acts on camera and actually prefers to be alone or with his cousin or Undyne. Cries when killed to add extra guilt (he takes it as you not liking him or if it's done before he's sparable he takes it as you being a false friend). And I normally don't get into battles but since Mettaton's fight is my favorite ill cover Napstabot's. For starters his interruptions are as follows: a musical quiz show, setting up a music studio with the last instrument being a human soul but Undyne requires a synthetic human soul, a quest where you must find him a new prop, and finally a big musical number where he wears classic Alphys dress and a top hat. During ex he has a Livestream where you have to raise likes through posing (seductively causing napstabot to blush heavily), boasting (which shocks napstabot and makes him a bit jealous of your ego), and heel turning (which he takes personally). You can also throw your stick which he nervously fetches much to his embarrassment. His attacks are a punching attack that mimicks Mettatons kicks, a five way punch, sound wave speakers speakers replacing Mettatons punches, electric heart (unchanged), discoball (unchanged), bomb attacks (unchanged), union regulated break (the text now says "I'm not feeling up to working on my break dude"), small napstabots that shoot music notes, and boxes (unchanged) he also shoots a single small lightning bolt the turn right after he loses one of his limbs and a tear the turn after his health becomes fatal. Instead of an essay he asks you to write a song. If it rhymes he gets shocked and remarks "that's better than I could ever do.....". Similar responses as Mettaton's if it's basic. If you compliment him he blushes and gets flustered. If you compliment his legs he's shocked as he thinks his legs aren't desirable. If you compliment his arms he blushes and flexes for you (so sexy). If you compliment his hair he blushes and remarks how it has a natural bounce. If you compliment his personality he blushes, gets flustered, and remarks how he wishes more people paid attention to that. If you compliment his voice he sings a short melody. If you compliment his dancing he mentions Undyne literally giving him two left feet. If you mention loving him he blushes and remarks how despite getting that alot he always gets flustered by it. If you mention Toby he remarks how that's not his name but it does sound sexy. If you insult him he cries but then gets an annoyed expression and the music stops while he replies "insults are a gateway to the way you feel about yourself" then a "bitch" sound effect plays and then things go back to normal. If you curse he mentions getting demonetized. Ok this is too much.
The rocks swap with the dummies. Not much to remark because this is already too much so......
Well that was a lot...... I still feels as if I missed some things. Oh well

X-Tale Oc I'm currently working on, since I'm hyped on that series ^^
Idk how to introduce a character, but she goes with the name XR, yup only XR, a creation of X-Gaster yet called as "The First X-Event experiment".
She became the X-Event already right before Frisk and Chara were ,and also, her code has been deviated from the one X-Gaster had obtained to create her in the first place which made her an anomaly later on- that happens to be having her not being set in a timeline, she is a different kind of creation that X-Gaster might use in the future for his plan to work.
She was created differently, and more likely she is created as an experiment for X-Gaster to test out if his soul might cause him to create a stronger yet balanced creation with property.
During her creation, she was actually first made from a sample of the HATE Vial that Ink Sans had kept to(that's for my side for sure, though it's not canon lol) and gave it to X-Gaster to keep since it won't be furthermore be hidden until the HATE comes out, so X Gaster had planned to establish some experimental probability of his soul and HATE, what might cause, except the idea that the planned creation won't be as rage full as the HATE would cause to be, and also, there were some taken out from Frisk and Chara's DNA, so that X-Gaster would create the same vessel, the same extraction.
Due to that, it caused an Overwrite just for the experiment to be produced well, despite of the Hate quietly operating inside it's Vessel.
After a newly made experiment, there she is, the First experiment for the X-Event, in which X Gaster could fully use in the future. When she first existed, she still acted as untamable as the HATE inside would operate, but then due to X-Gaster's soul being more stronger than it, it would behave well working inside the vessel's body, more as tamed on a limited time.
She's named as XR,an acronym for "X-Event Rage" that she disgusted herself(though I cannot think of any other name for her lol due to her lore XDD),and would serve as X-Gaster's assistant alongside Alphys, yet then she discovers her part on how Ink keeps her to his side as to watch the effect, XR seems to be as normal as the two human children, XR-on the other hand , after confirming her entity with X-Gaster, she discovered that she also had the power to Create and Destroy, and also, an uncanny soul was blessed to her, a mysterious one(Magenta Soul on the picture) that seems to rival X-Gaster's soul than what it is.
Her entry has been unknown, timeline also undefined, later on she's secretly working for rebellion, as what Frisk and Chara longed on the early times before their turn in the X-Event. She purposefully did it in a deal, knowing that she might as well risk her own existence for the sake of it. Yet then, X-Gaster would later find out, causing her to deny everything ,running away from him would be a great plan for her to stop him from figuring it all out.
She's currently known as ENTITY, due to the X-Event , Frisk and Chara are now merged, and how X-Gaster longs to destroy her at will, knowing that he can't because she's already has her own entity through the different soul she has , yet the HATE + X-Gaster's soul works with her all too well.
Due to the base that he can't destroy her, he planned to trap him in a void instead, and make sure she wouldn't come out to be seen nor reminded again. X-Gaster didn't take out his soul out of her as a sign of Grace, but he made sure he wouldn't seek her again when the X-Event does the plan.Overall, she's brutal. She caused havoc in X-Gaster's plan, though she might be killed but that wouldn't be a good idea for him either, or else the timelines that he created will be shattered completely due to its impact. Generally, her neutral state caused her not to be seen ever again, after all the chaos and catastrophic inventions she used to intervene.
She's currently called "The Forbidden Experiment", which would later appear on the arc that Ink Sans is searching for Cross, he's the only one who could ever remember her.
(P.S:There is a lot about her that lack explaination ,that's all I can say for now )
(and also X-Gaster decided to define the creation's gender a girl so he would make sure it wouldn't be like the two boys who are getting upset, yet he didn't expect she'd go worse than them XDDD)

i didnt draw age swap alphys or undyne. but here are some facts about them!
alphys:
-she his atustic but has less needs then sans.
-she also has social anxiety, ptsd from the DT experiments, and self esteem issues.
-she is 32. but still acts a lot like a 25 year old, just with more back pain.
-baggy clothes because she hates her body.
-her lab is always around 90 degrees inless undyne is over. then its 70.
-her bedroom is messy but organized at the same time. like she knows were EVERY thing is but if you move something or clean her room (even if you show her were you are putting things) she will not be able to find anything..
-mettaton has to remind her to take breaks before she burns out.
-weekly dump crys and searches.
- is always covered in goopy dog fur(thanks endogany)
-flusters easily.
-doesn't khs on most neutral runs. only if you've killed undyne, been rude to her and killed mettaton.. no one but undyne ir mettaton. if you kill papyrus too she stays alive to make sure sans is ok..
-is there for everyone else but doesn't think she is worthy of someone supporting her.
-self deprecating jokes 24/7.
-demibisexual, panoramic
-infodumps so much about anime in general but mostly kissy cutie.
undyne:
-adhd but its MOSTLY under control.
-hates not having background noise, so if she has house work she will call papyrus or alphys. papyrus to come over and be a body double or alphys as background noise (aka has alphys infodump).
-can actually cook. (and somwtimws cooks for asgore as he has trouble at times).
- really active in the community, making sure kids know to stay in school, helping elderly monsters, ect!

-25 years old.
-sees papyrus as her equal and friend.
-dating alphys a few months before frisk fell down.
-suspects asgore had raised a human child before but isnt sure.
- keeps a special eye on monster kid, especially when she visits the school.
-is smart, almost as smart as alphys but failed most of high school because of how boring the work was.
- she doesnt like puzzles but does them to make papyrus happy. (what she does is often test runs of his puzzles.)
-is like a big sister to the skeleton brothers despite being younger then papyrus.
-her hair is in a braid rather then a ponytail.
-she knows of flowey but not what he is. papyrus has brought him up a few times by accident. she thinks flowey is just some monster she hasn't met yet.

Oh hello!
It's another Undertale shit post!
I've fleshed out more of a story than I anticipated- after everyone gets to the surface and how they're coping with it. Especially with the arrival of an unforseen individual.
I'll post the first chapter here for now! Again, your thoughts are welcome and appreciated!
An array of colored leaves covers the ground. The crisp, thin air bites but the warmth from the sun is still beaming. Despite the cold air, the sun feels amazing on Sans’s bones, still not use to it after living on the surface for the past year. He’s amazed Papyrus hasn’t yelled at him yet for neglecting to rake the leaves in their yard.
“Let’s begin the festivities with a game of tag, shall we!?” Papyrus shouts excitedly.
“Yes please!” Frisk chimes in.
“Who should be ‘it’ first?” Udnyne asks.
“P-please n-not me..” Alphys quivers, recalling how the last game of tag went.
“Surely not Sans, he never runs…” Papyrus rolls his eyes at his older, yet shorter brother.
Sans shrugs, “heh, I’ll be ‘it’ only if it means I can take a nap.”
“I’ll be ‘it’!” Frisk volunteers eagerly.
“The human it is then!” Papyrus bolts away. Despite his speed he’s nothing compared to Undyne, who zooms past him with ease. Alphys starts running toward the nearest bush, only to inevitably trip on her tail. She gets to her feet and dives behind the bushes. Frisk runs after them giggling, Sans walking behind in tow.
This seems surreal, a year goes by much too fast. Everyone has adjusted well, of course they would, they must have in timelines before. That’s right Sans thinks to himself, Timelines before…is this really the one true final ending, kid? By god, he hopes so, he rubs his endlessly tired eyes. A sleeplessness he can never seem to shake. No point in dreaming, it’s only a matter of time. Might as well live in this moment while it lasts. He sighs as he reminds himself out loud, “Keep smiling.”
Sans lifts his eyes from the ground, only to see a foreign yet familiar figure form the corner of his eye. He does a double take as he furrows his brow line. Sure enough, it’s a momentary projection of Gaster, however different. This Gaster, while still flawed, is the most complete image Sans has seen since his disappearance from reality. His heart skips a beat, staring, waiting for this hologram to disintegrate. It doesn’t, remains unmoving, standing like a statue. Okay… Sans’s smile starts fading, still remaining however slight. After a moment of stillness, Sans’s smile returns, as he shrugs it off. It’s probably just a temporary file that happened to load and will dissipate momentarily- a figment of his imagination.
Papyrus notices this stranger watching them, “Hello new skeleton!” Sans jumps, since when did Papyrus get so close? “I don’t believe we have met before, I am the Great Papyrus, what is your name?”
Everyone pauses, eyes glued to Gaster.
Sans starts to sweat, staring at Gaster, he wonders if he has finally lost his mind! This isn’t possible, Gaster’s files are corrupt past redemption last he checked, how much longer can this file of last? Surely not long enough to respond to Papyrus.
Undyne chimes in, “Whoa! I never knew there was another skeleton! Alphy’s, did you know?”
Alphys responds honestly, “w-well, I-I didn’t think there were a-any other skeletons l-left…”
Gaster blinks, vision coming into focus staring down at his hands as he brings them to his face, checking to see if he’s real.
Frisk silently watches.
As Gaster takes a step forward, Sans takes a step back, his chest getting heavier, this isn’t real, it’s going to disappear, he’s not really here, it’s not possible, not in any conceivable timeline he’s calculated. Sans tries to catch his breath to no avail.
Gaster finally responds, full of excitement and confusion, eyes landing on the skeletons in front of him, “Papyrus? I-am I actually here? Did my calculations finally work? Maybe I could run through the numbers again.” His hand instinctively goes to his chin, arm resting on the other while using his hands to count pacing feverishly. “My furthest piece was scattered to 17438.27469, I was 0.06 away from obtaining completion. I remember reaching out, and grabbing…then, I must really be here!” He exclaimed, throwing his hands in front of him, staring again.
Gaster’s eyes finally lands on Sans’s horrified and numb expression, his eyes start to gloss over and voice trembles as he remembers the last time he saw sans, “Sans, I finally did it! I collected all of my pieces, uncorrupted them, I am finally me!” Gaster takes a few more steps forward while saying this, Sans continues to take steps backwards in disbelief, his breathing gets heavier, the weight in his chest is unbearable, Sans remembers how he couldn’t save Gaster, how he was just out of reach, but here he is, standing in front of him.
Papyrus, “Hmm, it seems you have met my brother, weird that he’s never mentioned you.” Papyrus mirrors Gaster, bringing his hand to his chin, arm resting on his other hand. He removes his hand from his chin, pointing upwards, “Nevertheless! There is always room for another skeleton! I still don’t know your name?” Papyrus gestures toward Gaster with an open palm.
“Sans…?” Gaster can’t hid his pain as his voice faulters, how could his own brother back away from him?
“Well, that name is already taken I’m afraid…Pick another!” Papyrus suggests.
Reality finally sinks in for Sans, his grin returns, “Well, I’m glad to see that you’re finally more tangible than GAS-ter!” He jokes, winking at Gaster.
Gaster runs to sans, pulling Papyrus in with. Sans realizes this is the first time his younger brothers have all been together since before corruption, his eyes start to well up, Gaster lets a tear slip from his eyes.
Papyrus is still very confused, “Well this all seems very fast, it appears my friendliness abilities have become too powerful, welcome new friend!” He hugs Gaster back while giving Sans the side eye, “Of course it would slip your mind to tell me about another skeleton, Sans”
Sans replies sheepishly, “I-uh, let’s just say I know him from another time.” He looks up at Gaster, It’s been too long.”
Gaster lets go, taking a step back to really take in his brothers smiling wide. A thought occurs to him, “Papyrus doesn’t know who I am, does he?”
Sans shrugs, looking away toward the ground.
Undyne, Frisk, and Alphys exchange perplexed looks, who is this skeleton and what in the world is he saying?
Gaster’s smile fades as his glances over the confused group, “Then I assume no one else remembers either, do they?”
Sans is silent for a moment. “Geez, just got back and you’re already WINGing it” Sans chuckles with a single sweat bead on his forehead.
Gaster laughs, the bags under his eyes seem to grow “You have not changed, you have always been such a COMIC sans”
Sans snickers and winks, “BONa fide and all!”
Papyrus throws his arms up defiantly stomping his foot on the ground, “NGEH! I spoke too soon, no friend of mine would torture me with puns!”
Undyne snaps out of her disbelief, “uh, WHAT? How do you know what he’s saying? How do you know him? Sans what the fu-“Sans shoot Undyne a dirty look, she should know better than to swear in front of Papyrus, “-uuudgery?”
Papyrus resumes contemplating this new skeletons appearance, “hmm, yes, Fudgery indeed! Although, your font seems strangely familiar, it must be a puzzle my greatness was able to solve, nothing can get past the Great Papyrus!”
Sans looks up at his brother, “So cool bro.”
Gaster starts to use sign language while speaking, “ah, I apologize, it’s been so long since I have been able to talk to someone else, I forgot to sign! My font is not the easiest to read, it’s wing dings and my name is Gaster.”
Undyne’s face scrunches up, shrugging with her hands to the sky, mouth open.
Alphy’s realizes that Undyne can’t sign, “I-uh, h-his name is G-Gaster. I studied s-sign language o-once, I’m sorry I can’t sign back to you, i-is t-that ok?
Gaster obliges, “Yes, thank you, Alphys.”
Without catching the fact he said her name without introductions, Alphys replies, “oh, of course!”
“Alright, well then would’ya guys TRANSLATE!?” Undyne yells, grasping at straws.
Sans bumps Gaster with his elbow, “Way to go, you’ve already gotten under her GILLS”  Gaster replies with a quip, “Really? I thought things were going SWIMINGLY!” both Sans and Gaster laugh.
Undyne and Papyrus are unamused by this as Alphys continues to translate to Undyne.
“I’m not so sure, she looks like she might just BUBBLE over!” Sans adds. Gaster pushes Sans over and laughs even harder as Sans falls to the ground, “Awe man, I just got this SINKING feeling.” Gaster can’t help but laugh, tears coming to his eyes as his stomach hurts.
Papyrus is furious, “Sans did you just fall to make a PUN!?? You lazy bones!” he pinches the bridge of his nose between his eyes in disappointment.
Gaster teezes, “oh Paps, what happened to your FUNNY bone, you don’t find this Humerous?”
“Ngeh!” Papyrus screams, absolutely loosing it. Sans rolls over holding his stomach while laughing. He goes silent for a moment, he hasn’t been this happy for so long. He hopes this is real, even if it doesn’t matter in the end, even if the human resets and he forgets all of this, he, in this moment, remembers what it’s like to be happy. Sans takes a deep breath, closes his eyes and just basks in this pure joy.
Gaster finally catches his breath, “You okay down there?”
“I’m good.” Sans replies.
Papyrus is finally done loosing his mind, and sees that sans looks genuinely happy, maybe for the first time in a long time, “Brother?”
Sans looks up, “Yeah bro?”
“Now that you’ve had your laugh, why don’t we head inside and do the getting to know over dinner?” Papyrus asks.
Sans smile grows, “Sounds good bro,” he said, showing no effort in getting up of the ground.
Gaster faces Papyrus, “Yes, that would be nice.”
Papyrus crosses his hands and taps his foot, “Sans, I’m waiting.”
Sans still doesn’t get up, “Gee bro, it seems like my legs have just WALKED off.”
“ENOUGH!” Papyrus has had reaches his limit of puns for the day, that was it. “If you can’t walk, then I’ll walk for you!” Papyrus picks Sans up, Gaster chuckles and the three of them walk inside.
Undyne once again looks defeated, “What just happened?”
Frisk is equally as confused, but determined, “I don’t know. But, we could talk over dinner! They were planning on us too, we should join them.”
“y-yes they were! Why d-don’t we go eat Undyne?” Alphys suggests. Reluctantly Undyne agrees, “I suppose.”

What if Papyrus was the one that befriended Toriel through the Ruins’ Door, instead of his comedic brother? 🥧🫖🍝
*Personally, I think Toriel forming a friendship with Papyrus would be stronger, healthier and more honest, then her canon ‘friendship’ with his brother.
*The only things that Toriel has with Papyrus’ brother was that they told knock-knock jokes and puns to each other, not bothering to talk about themselves or give out their names (I know why Toriel couldn’t give out hers, but she could’ve at least given her ‘door buddy’ a fake name) and a broken promise to protect a child that Toriel never even learns that got broken.
*Their friendship is literally based on secrets and lies!
*If she knew about his broken promise and what he said to Frisk, she would probably toss him straight into a volcano!
*Toriel isn’t perfect, but she deserves a better BFF then him…
~~~
*Anyway like I said, a ‘Toriel and Papyrus’ friendship would be better!
*Papyrus also isn’t perfect, but he’s more honest and kinder then his brother!
*He also has more in common with Toriel: they both love helping others, they both love to cook, they are both hard workers, they both have a soft spot for children, they are both not racist (at least not as racist as a certain Royal Guard Captain) and Papyrus actually loves puns (he simply pretends he doesn’t; he actually does puns sometimes)…
*But most important of all, he has moral standards similar to Toriel’s; to not kill others and show mercy… He practices what Toriel preaches!
*Papyrus also did more to help/protect Frisk, then his brother ever did, and he didn’t even promise anyone to protect Frisk!
~~~
*In this world, Papyrus’ brother never meets Toriel through the door: either the brother entered a despair coma and became another amalgamate thanks to a certain scientist, or he was killed by Flowey who never reset before Frisk arrived (and when Frisk arrived, the brother’s death became irreversible)…
*Papyrus still misses his brother, so he tells knock-knock jokes to cheer himself up… which leads to him meeting Toriel and sharing jokes with her.
*When Toriel had to leave to create her dinner, Papyrus gives out his name as ‘THE GREAT PAPYRUS’ and then asks for her name, which she says is ‘Tori’.
*Almost every day, Papyrus would return to the door to talk about his day and his interests/hobbies, while Toriel did the same.
*Papyrus would talk about his love of cooking, especially spaghetti, so Toriel gives him all types of pasta recipes as well as her favorite pie recipe.
*Papyrus would also talk about his dreams about entering the Royal Guard, and that he has to capture a human in order for his dream to come true… which makes Toriel quite uncomfortable, so she tells Papyrus some stories of the human and monster kingdoms leaving in peace, a long time ago back on the surface world.
*Papyrus later confesses to Toriel that he thinks that Undyne will probably never let him into the Royal Guard, because she views him as an innocent child and doesn’t take him seriously… that’s why he wanted to capture a human so desperately, it’s the only way Undyne will let him join the Guard, even if he isn’t truly %100 comfortable with capturing and hurting someone… Toriel simply says: “If your dream job involves hurting someone innocent, then maybe you find a different dream job… Like cooking, perhaps? That’s another way to get people to like you!”
*One day, Papyrus asks Toriel why she stays inside the ruins: ‘ISN’T IT BORING AND LONELY IN THERE?”… Toriel explains that she’s stays inside, because she’s completely against the second war and wants NOTHING to do with it.
*Papyrus is confused, so Toriel explains to Papyrus the story of how King Asgore lost both of his children (one of them being a human child that died of sickness) and how King Asgore blamed all of humanity over what a small village of them did to his monster child, thus declaring a second war against humanity while the Queen had left the hate-filled Kingdom in despair over losing her children to death as well as her husband to his own rage.
*Papyrus had tears in his eye sockets by the time the story is over and spoke softly to Toriel for the first time…
*Papyrus: “H-HOW… How do you know about this story?”
Tori: “…I was there.”
Papyrus: “…Do you know what happened to the Queen?… Is she in the Ruins with you?”
Tori: “…Do you promise not to tell anyone?”
Papyrus: “Of course!”
Tori: “…Yes, she is with me.”
Papyrus: “Can you tell her that I’m sorry about what happened to her family?”
Tori: “…I will… Thank you, Papyrus.”
*After hearing Tori’s stories of the past, Papyrus isn’t sure that he wants to be in the Royal Guard anymore.
*Eventually, Toriel asks Papyrus to make the promise to watch over and protect any human that leaves the Ruins.
*Papyrus is hesitant but agrees, saying he’ll try his best.
*In canon, Papyrus is terrified to disappoint any friends, so he doesn’t choose an actual side (which can be just as damaging sometimes)… In here, Papyrus knows that if he doesn’t do anything to actually help Frisk, he would be disappointing two friends instead of one (Frisk and Tori)… And he doesn’t want to break his promise to Tori, after learning what she has been through.
*When Frisk arrives, Captain Undyne (with her helmet) is by Papyrus’ side being all silently stoic (instead of his brother, since he isn’t around anymore), so Papyrus has to pretend to want to capture Frisk until she leaves.
*Undyne leaves before Papyrus’ ‘final battle’ with Frisk, so Papyrus pretends that Frisk had defeated him and after Frisk gives him mercy, he rewards Frisk with a victory dinner at his house.
*In there, Papyrus bonds and plays with Frisk, then reveals that he made his traps and puzzles incompetent on purpose to protect Frisk from the Captain.
*Papyrus tries to convince Frisk to stay with him, like Toriel did.
*But when Frisk wishes to continue their big adventure… Papyrus joins Frisk to protect them from the others, including Undyne and Mettaton later on.
---
Aikoiya: I think this has serious potential, but I would personally keep Sans alive while still having it be Papyrus who befriended Toriel & made the promise to her.
The reason being that it’d allow for some serious friction between the brothers. After making the promise, perhaps Papyrus switched stations with Sans to ensure that he’d meet any humans that came out first.
Sans, of course, would only be stopped from making good on his alternate timeline version’s threat by the fact that Papyrus is obviously very protective of Frisk & hardly lets them out of his sight.
It’d certainly cause a lot of tension.
I also love the idea of Papyrus actively traveling with Frisk. It’s very reminiscent of an idea that I had for Underswap & Swapfell where Blueberry & Raspberry (US & SF Sans) does something similar.

Sans and Muffet's in the Punz AUs
Cracked Lore Farlon has never met his AU's version of Muffet, therefore it is unknown what they would think of each other
'Sans' has no Muffet due to having no actual AU. He is an outcode after all. He does know that Muffet exists outside his world, and knows they usually overprice their wares, but he enjoys that. He finds it funny when people spend all their money just to buy a spider donut or spider cider.
Ruined Souls Sans has a rough relationship with Muffet. They can manage to be friendly at times, but they often clash heads over the smallest of issues. They don't clash heads often however. Sans enjoys his time overall when visiting Muffet mostly because Grillby is there to make sure they don't fight. The two are slowly working out their differences, but with Sans being so busy from extra work it's hard to always find time to chat with Muffet and Grillby
Undertale: Muffet's Journey Sans hasn't actually met Muffet in the story so far. Any story past Muffet falling into the Underground has not been made yet, so it is unknown what Sans will think of the young Muffet. One thing is for certain, he'll be nervous to hear what she says about his puns
Healing Tears Sans has met Muffet on a few occassions, but they don't really speak to each other. Sans usually sees Muffet when he's doing his usual jokes at the Underwater Mettaton Resort and Entertainment. His jokes can be quite fish-y since they are all mer-monsters who live in water and have survived with the help of Frisk
Undertale: The Murder Glitch Sans regrets what he did to Muffet, so after he finished dealing with the human, Sans went on to get the spiders in the Ruins out of Ruins and into Waterfall and beyond as a way to pay tribute to Muffet. He vows that once he brings everyone back he will do whatever it takes to make the others happy before he dies. But if he happens to die before bringing everyone back, well he'll just apologize profusely in the afterlife, if there even is an afterlife in his world. Muffet probably wouldn't forgive Sans right away since he killed her but she would be happy that the spiders in Ruins got to explore the world.
Undertale: No More Murder Only Strategy Sans has a rough friendship with Muffet. He remembers the previous timelines and how he killed her twice already and feels bad for it but is glad to know she's willing to co-operate with him as long as she gets a good pay out of it. He knows that Muffet wouldn't usually help, since she likes to work alone but he had to get her help in the plan in order to both stop the human and free the spiders in the Ruins. Seems his plan secretly included him helping with freeing the spiders in the ruins since he wanted to make up for what he did in the previous timelines, which is nice. The more help he gets the better, and if help comes from fixing past mistakes then so be it.

To be FAIR. And I don't mean to excuse this or any other issue that Undyne has as a racist or justifying actual actions just because a war happened, but in a way, Frisk has little to no right being the Underground in the first place.
The monsters are locked up, the humans already won, they're trapped for eternity pretty much and every generation, regardless if they remember the events of the war, is forced to deal with the consequences of the actions of their ancestors, even if they don't hate/don't care about humans. I'm sure Frisk, as did Chara, knew about how Mt. Ebott was forbidden, yet they went anyway.
The monsters are stuck with no way out, and their only hope is foolish human children who fall there. They have NOTHING else keeping them going. The underground is getting crowded, most people are either depressed or trying not to give up hope, and most of all, they're all stuck. No matter where you go, you're instantly reminded of how small the Underground is, yet all of these people have no choice but to suffer from the actions of humans.
Yes, Frisk is a child, and yes, Undyne is an adult fishwoman thing, but humans, but default, are stronger than monsters and that's not even a question. Frisk has the upper hand at almost all times in terms of strength, and even if they do die, they can linger after death.
"What does this have to do with Undyne? She doesn't know Frisk can reset/come back to life!" Yes, but she knows, even if she's compensating for that, that humans are much stronger and will likely kill Asgore. All of the human children who died from Asgore didn't have enough determination to succeed in killing/either that, they didn't want to. Frisk is different. They could literally ruin everything the monsters have worked for over the past how many years they've been trapped.
So yes, I can see why Undyne thinks Frisk is better off dead when the option is either that or Asgore dies and takes all of the souls, and monsters will remain trapped. Child or not, Frisk is clearly not there for shits and giggles, regardless of what route they're on.
In terms of bullying, I see it as a way for Undyne to dehumanize Frisk before they kill them. She's a warrior, and I imagine that even she has conflicting emotions about killing children. We can see this facade drop after she befriends Frisk. Two wrongs don't make a right, however, and Undyne still did a lot wrong, no matter the context.
But Undyne unlearned her prejudices about humans that have likely been ingrained into her since she was young. It's not like there was just a war and the humans won and the monsters lost, no, they were all actively punished for their actions and so were their children and their children. Then the humans left them all to rot in the mountains essentially with no consideration that there's an entire group of innocent creatures suffering punishment for crimes NEITHER side is old enough to be responsible for, say for Asgore and Toriel. So while yes, racism is never justified at all, there's a difference between being in public and being racist and then having a child of a race of people invade your prison, possibly have the threat of killing your only hope, all while knowing that they have the strength to kill both you and everyone you love.
Frisk is a child, sure, but they're by no means helpless or weak. They came into the Underground likely knowing that monsters existed, either that or they were going up there for an "unhappy reason," but seeing as how they didn't just stay with Toriel, it's clear that they had the intentions of progressing regardless. Toriel gave them the option to stay there and be safe, but Frisk wanted to go home even after they came to the mountain for whatever reason.
How is Undyne a bully to Frisk?
Well... where do I begin?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keep in mind, this is an adult saying these things to a child.
Also, I don't hate Undyne... In fact, I prefer her over Sans... I get that she was doing her job... I get that she was only following Asgore's orders... But she still has her 'yikes' moments that I can't ignore...
Like how she insults Frisk, even when Frisk saved the armless lizard kid's life and later her own life... or how she actually enjoys attacking Frisk (as do most of the other monsters).
It's one thing to kill someone an innocent child, because your King has ordered you to, but it's another thing entirely when you do it while smiling. (I know Frisk has the option to kill, but I'm talking about the Pacifist Route... the other routes are for another day.)
Even after you befriend her, she's still willing to take another human's soul if they're not a perfect pacifist like Frisk and she still threatens to beat Frisk up if the child hurts Asgore (even though Frisk is a child and has constantly proven they aren't dangerous).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She doesn't even apologize for attacking Frisk the child.
She also later tells Asgore that he doesn't need to apologize to Frisk.
It's messed up that forgiving Asriel/Flowey is optional, but forgiving Undyne is mandatory if you want the True Pacifist Ending.
My point is that the fish woman needs to go through a bit more character development in my opinion, because nobody likes a racist or someone who can't control her temper.
Sans and Mettaton also have their issues as well but befriending them isn't mandatory to get the true pacifist ending, like befriending the violent royal captain is.

I think I made another post that briefly touched on that idea before, but screw it, while my brain is in Undertale\Deltarune mode, maybe I should give it it’s own dedicated post.
I have a theory that the SOUL Modes in Undertale indicate a significant connection between the Virtue that SOUL Color symbolize and the Monster that inflicts that SOUL Mode.
Specifically, I think that indicates that the Monster has a significant lack of that Virture.
Blue is the color of Integrity, and is the SOUL Mode inflicted by Sans and Papyrus.
Tumblr media
And despite Sans and Papyrus being such opposites to each other, I think the both exhibit a lack of Integrity slightly different ways. Sans is... for once he is very much NOT an honest character. His entire Thing is based on misdirection and trickery. From just making simple pranks to constantly hiding his ‘real self’ in various ways. His adherence to a moral code can be pretty... loose because he has become so apathetic to the world around him. He Judges Frisk, but he doesn’t try and stop them unless they kill Literally Everything in the Underground. And he’s also he’s also pretty half-hearted in ‘watching over and protecting’ Frisk like he promised Toriel. He just took a very lucky guess that this human’s gonna be an Unkillable Time God and decided that Not Actively Killing Them is good enough. He himself admits that he doesn’t know if he actually just grew apathetic from the knowledge of the existence of RESETs or if it’s just his excuse to be lazy. Plus, he’s so lazy that he really has no professional Integrity, and that what leads to his downfall in the MAX LV route, because he decided to take a nap in the middle of battle.
With Papyrus, his biggest problem is that he’s just... very very susceptible to Peer Pressure. Despite how on the outside he’s just so unapologetically and proudly himself, Papyrus is really really desperate for friendship and thus is really susceptible to changing his mind if he thinks it’ll get people to like him more. It’s really noticable in the phone conversations - Papyrus will say he hates something (like greasy food or anime), but than Undyne will say she loves it and he’ll immediately change his tune because he’s that afraid of losing Undyne as a friend. More importantly, his desire to be everyone’s friends tend can override any sort of standards he has, including moral standard. He tries to be friends with both Frisk and Undyne even though the latter is trying to kill the former, and he tries to both protect Frisk AND Undyne at the same time even though these goals are inherently contradictory. And he’s willing to be friends with Frisk even as they kill Literally Everything but him. I mean, part of it is that in a not-Max-LV run he’s kept somewhat ignorant of what Frisk did by Sans (lack of honesty, again).... but there’s also some implications that Papyrus IS smarter and more aware than he seems and his ignorance is of the Willful variety (which is also a lack of honesty\Integirty on Payprus’ part)
Green is the color of Kindess, and is the SOUL Mode inflicted by Undyne.
That one is a lot more straightforward. Undyne is the first boss who actively tries to kill you, she will not Spare Frisk and will not let Frisk spare her even if they’ve been the sweetest most Pacifistic child in the world. While we learn about her softer side later, in her Neutral-to-Pacifist battle she just comes off as aggressive and angry and very very not kind. But I think that’s actually a gooddemonstration of why Kindness and Goodness are not synonymous. Like, Undyne DOES really care about the Monsters of the Underground, she really is selfless, she really is heroic. It’s just that she doesn’t express it by being gentle or sweet or soft or Doing No Harm or healing or... kind, she expresses it by PUNCHING THINGS that make them sad. This CAN be a serious flaw, espacially in a game focused on non-violent solutions, but still... it’s important to remember she cares. She cares So Much.
Yellow is the color of Justice, and is the SOUL Mode in Mettaton’s battle, but it’s technically inflicted by Alphys, and it’s also used in her Lost Soul battle in the True Pacifist Boss Battle.
And I think it also very much applies to both of them. Mettaton is one of the few Monsters in the game not working to try and break the Barrier and undo the great act of Injustice done on Monsterkind all these years ago when they were banished underground. In fact, he seems quite content with his plan to become a star on the Surface while leaving all the other Monsters behind indefinitely - which would be pretty unfair and unjust for everyone involved. Plus with the way he treats his workers (or at least Burgerpants), I’ll say Justice is not the strongest value of my Favorite Bastard Robot Son.
And Alphys, meanwhile, has been hiding from her mistakes in the True Lab. Hopelessly trying to avoid the consequences of her own actions - in other words, she’s been trying to avoid Justice. Plus, with the way she will side with Frisk on their journey unless they are on a MAX LV run, she might not have a strong sense of Justice either because you can still be a pretty horrible murderous asshole on those runs as well. But it’s just the Power of Watching Someone on a Screen that’s enough for Alphys to side with Frisk whatever it’s actually the just thing to do or not.
(I at first wanted to skip Muffet because she’s a Miniboss so I’m not sure if she ‘counts’ but I guess you can spin something about how the Spiders lack Perseverance because they literally can’t preserve through Snowdin’s cold)
And the thing is... I’ve been focused a lot on the Neutral-Pacifist run, but in a MAX LV run - I think you can very much say that the battles that get ‘skipped’ indicate that the character DID learn to display that Virtue as part of the Route.
Like, Undyne the Undying still uses the Green SOUL Mode because she still doesn’t have a lot of Kindness - it’s just that a MAX LV route player is one of the few characters in the Undertale universe who honestly does not deserve any drop of Kindess, and Undyne doesn’t NEED Kindness to care about saving Everyone in the World.
Sans is still trickey and deceitful and he is technically breaking a Promise by fighting MAX LV Frisk. And his lack of Integrity gets the worst of him at the end when he puts his guard down and gets Slashed for it.
Meanwhile, Papyrus... I guess in a way he’s still trying to be friends with a Terrible Person, but... this is not about Papyrus being ignorant (willfully or not) of what kind of person he’s trying to befriend. He’s honest with himself and with Frisk about the sort of dangerous path they’re going but... he decided to take a leap of faith for the values of Friendship, for believing in the inherent goodness of Monsterkind and Humankind. for believing in HIMSELF. He’s being more honest about what he believes in than he’s ever been before, and he’s sticking strongly by these ideals even in a seemingly impossible situation, even when he seems to be proven wrong, even when he’s dying. (And you know what? Papyrus has a decent sucess rate for convincing players to abort the MAX LV Route or even stopping them from trying it in th first place, and I’m proud of him for it) - he has Integrity, and the SOUL doesn’t.
Same goes for Mettaton, whose actually doing the unquestionably-right-thing for once. Trying to be a line of defense for both the surviving Monsters and Humanity, because neither of them deserve someone like a MAX LV player. So for once, he’s acting on Justice. (And Alphys IS actually being a hero of her own volition, revealing to everyone what she has done, trying to save every single monster she can... in a way she’s probably being even more JUSTICE than Mettaton).
Now to bring it over to Deltarune, that general rule seem to apply there as well. Spamton is... the incarnation of Spam E-Mail, he’s a conman by definition. He sells Kris items under false pretences, manipulates them into giving him a more powerful body, encourages the horrors and pains of the Weird Route for his own personal gain, tries to take over the whole of Cyber World. I think it’s safe to say that Spamton is not the most Just individual.
(But also Undertale somewhat links Justice with Luck. So you can also say that Spamton doesn’t have any luck because he used to be “a little unlucky” compared to the other Addisons and then when he seems to finally ‘hit it big’, he ended up crushing down just this time without his friends or his sanity. You can say Spamton is very unjust but also life has been very unjust to him too)
And Spamton NEO has an Actual Battle with the Actual Yellow SOUL Mode in the Weird Route.. because unlike Mettaton NEO, Weird Route Spamton is very much NOT acting on the side of Justice. He’s actually MUCH worse than his Normal Route Counterpart. He’s basically just trying to avoid the Consequences of His Own Actions. His horrible, horrible actions.
I mean, that’s what the Player is doing too. But this isn’t about whatever the Player or the Player Character exhibits these traits. Just about whatever the Boss DOESN’T. You know, it’s not like a MX LV Player in Undertale has a lot of Kindness when facing down Undyne the Undying. And the Spamton NEO Weird Route Battle is basically two beings totally lacking in morals or a sense of Justice fighting over which of them will get to screw over the other in the end and Spoiler Alert it’s gonna be the one who’s an Unkillable Time God.
