Ok but no im actually kinda irked I had to do an acting exam for part of my korean speaking evaluation and my parter was like both lazy and a cheat so I was like 😭😭 I kept wanting to elevate it and make it more challenging and she was like nahhh its too hard and I'm like omfg this is an exam babes can we try harder. And then even though we definitely acted the best and were super theatrical I looked at the teacher's grading and we were so mid 😭 like 3/5 for each category and omfg I'm still heated about it

Moltik eggs are laid in Galvantula nests. After they hatch, Moltik hide their real bodies under their Joltik-shaped head ornaments so that the Galvantula parents will feed them.

After pupating into Gullvantula, this pokemon mimics a sleeping Galvantula to explain its immobility. Like other cocoon pokemon, they respond to very little.

Vesbuteo (Bug/Dragon) Height: 4'9" at shoulders Length: ~11' Weight: ~270 lbs Neurotoxin: Ignores type-based status immunities.

Despite their fearsome appearance and agonizing sting, Vesbuteo are peaceful creatures, feeding on fruit and flowers. The female's sting is used to temporarily paralyze a brooding Galvantula while she hides her eggs in its nest.

Names: Moltik comes from "molt," "mole (a spy)," and Joltik. Gullvantula uses "gull (to fool)" and Galvantula. Vesbuteo is simply "vesp- (related to wasps) and "buteo," a hawk genus. It also evokes "beauteous."

Vesbuteo's pose and behavior are taken almost directly from the real-life tarantula hawk wasp, which is, and I paraphrase, "a combowombo-spamming asshole that makes professional smash players look like a bunch of uncoordinated toddlers." Tarantula hawks are actually parasitoids rather than brood parasites, but I do not believe the former would fly in pokemon.

The shiny colors have a fun little genetic explanation where the genes for brown and orange pigment are supposed to activate in the adult form only, but rarely will be on in the larval and pupal stages and off in the adult, leaving the shiny Vesbuteo with mainly structural coloration.

hopefully you already know that the tarantula hawk wasp is so named because the female wasps hunt tarantulas, which they paralyze with a powerful sting and bury alive with their wasp eggs to provide a fresh nutritious snack for the baby wasps as they grow.

she even sticks a little note on it that says "have a great first day at school sweetie <3" in Wasp

but what you might NOT know, is how exactly a two-inch-long wasp gets the drop on a six-inch-wide giant hairy nightmare spider in the first place!

AND THE ANSWER MAY SURPRISE YOU- basically female tarantula hawks wasps are a bunch of combowombo-spamming assholes that make professional smash players look like a bunch of uncoordinated toddlers!

basically what happens is that a female wasp on the hunt for some fresh baby food flies real low over a wide area until she finds a tarantula burrow, whereupon she lands and flops around just outside the mouth of the burrow in the manner of an injured insect until the tarantula comes out to investigate!

naturally the tarantula immediately suspects something is up, but the wasp proceeds to taunt and torment it until the tarantula gives in and goes for a full-on threat display:

extremely unfortunately for the spider though, this traditional fang-bearing intimidation tactic has two crucial weaknesses: it blinds them to what exactly is going on in front (tarantula eyes are up top), and exposes their vulnerable underbelly to attack from below!

AND ATTACK THE WASP DOES.

she rushes in from underneath and delivers several debilitating stings to the spider's undercarriage while grappling the fangs to keep them away from her face, then retreats to a safe distance while the unfortunate tarantula experiences firsthand what an armor-piercing wasp sting feels like:

thankfully the tarantula hawk wasp is pretty much totally uninterested in using this horrifying weapon on anything that isn't a tarantula. phew!

once the tarantula is immobilized, the wasp will drag it away and bury it, before wiping the metaphorical sweat off her tiny insect brow and scooting off to go find more. all in a day's work!

this started as an #sketch for a suggestion I got to draw Nessa from pokemon. However it turned not being her due to my obsession of painting in blue/red (that leaded me to a fail illustration I am showing in my current stories 😅) I couldn't get her real colour skin.
