By @armandhphoto : this picture has been shot with a very old technique: Collodion process, mostly synonymous with the "collodion wet plate process", requires the photographic material to be coated, sensitized, exposed and developed within the span of about fifteen minutes, necessitating a portable darkroom for use in the field. Collodion is normally used in its wet form, but can also be used in humid ("preserved") or dry form, at the cost of greatly increased exposure time. The exposition time was about 15 seconds for this picture and I was able to move slowly my arm to give this "wing" effect. Luke White and Paul M Alsop @aucklandproject Make Amazing Collodion Wet Plate Portraits. They used the large 7' Chimera Octa as Fill. For each portrait we change the lighting set up completely, crafting the light to suit the sitter. For the portrait of Elise (@eahisl) we used the Broncolor Para 88 defocussed at 3,200ws. Fill is a 7' Chimera Octa also at 3,200ws. Hair and background lights were also near full power meaning around 12,000ws of light from 4 Broncolor Scoro Packs in a fraction of a second.
