IT’S DONE!!!!

Took 𝘚𝘖 long to do, but I’m really happy with the end results!!! The timelapse 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦 is like 8 minutes long, so I’m just finally relieved it’s all finished lmao

THIS I think is my favourite piece to date, and compared with my other favorite; I think it’s the cool lighting stuff lol

(speaking of which, my mum didn’t like the pink! But it’s Daphne’s signature colour so I’m keeping it dammit!)

hi! I like your zines! but I was specifically thinking about the ones you made in college as a project! were they for a specific major, or an elective, or was it under the “art” umbrella… ?

curious cuz I will be going to college soon lol and I like zines :)

thank you! i'll clarify first that i'm in the UK so college isn't degree level, but my course was foundation art & design. the whole thing was just exploring different processes and narrowing down your specialism, so i guess it's not wrong to say it was just sorta under the "art" umbrella?

anyway my specialism is illustration (shocker!) so the zines were made for my final major project. it didn't have to be zines, but i really like them as a medium and thought they were the best way to get my project theme across!

FMP UPDATE

FMP=final major project

Sorry that I've been inactive, I'm not good at actually posting.

For my FMP I was going to do a short horror film but that fell through badly because me and my actors all fell ill one after the other, so we changed the idea. Instead of a short horror film we are now aiming for the stars with a mockumentary about us failing to make the horror film! I thought this would be easier on me especially with the time restraint, I also had some material for it already from our first horror filming session because we can't do anything without bloopers.

I'll be posting some more posters that I've made for the mockumentary too so stay tuned for that!

FMP: Memories and Echos

For my first year of college our end of year brief was ‘Memories and Echoes’ in response to this I made the Memory Dress, a crocheted dress documenting my memories on dispersed dyed fabric

FLOWER PLANET PROJECT

I thought I’d post this older project of mine that I did throughout my college course that started it all. For my FMP (final major project) I decided my theme will be speculative biology but at the time I titled it speculative evolution as I did not know the name of the genera. I would say this was the project that pushed me towards the direction that I am in now and that is to fully explore spec bio in my art.

I wanted to create animals that resembled plants due to their planet being rich with oxygen and inhabited by giant alien flowers, thus pushing the animals into adapting colourful camouflage to blend in with their also vibrant environment, resembling many of the planets fauna. At the time I was taking inspiration from earths animals such as camels, tarantulas, amphibians, and gazelles. I used this as a starting point as I didn’t want to go all out in creating a hard core alien life form with science farty stuff behind every design decision.

Here’s a pig thingy ma jig that I’ve created as a visual starting point to what I wanted my spec bio creatures to resemble or take example from, on this flowering planet. ⬇️

I made people vote on which two creatures from the carnivore and herbivore sheets they wanted me to create into information sheets and these where few of the options that where shown.

This is the splash art for my animation! Still have to put on some details and stuff, but it’s getting there! I’m aiming to have it completed within the next couple days, so I can submit it to an art competition that my college is holding!

This honestly might become my new favourite piece that I’ve made so far, and I can’t wait to finish it and post a better quality version of it everywhere!

Also have it currently recording a timelapse, so I’ll post that alongside it!

i want to post more on here yet it feels like i've been nonstop doing art work!! i want to really buckle down for this project at school.. my tutor absolutely tore apart my FMP proposal today but in a way that i'm thankful for because now ive got to rewrite it better. i've already got an unconditional place at uni so theres not lethally high stakes but i still want to do well & make the most of my last year at college <3
