Free Printable Cold Porcelain Clay Recipe
If you have ever wanted to know how to make your own cold porcelain clay, I have found the best recipe for you and it is the one I use to make my air dry clay. You can download the free printable below. Cold porcelain clay is an air dry clay which has a translucent quality to it when it dries, if you don't add any colour pigment to it, a little bit like porcelain, hence the name. You can colour your clay with food colouring, acrylic paint, oil paint, inks and even colour from marker pens. My preference is food colouring as I can measure the quantities drop by drop, to obtain the colour that I want. Acrylic paint is also a great altenative. Cold porcelain clay is softer than polymer clay, and can be a little harder to work with, but if you are just starting out with it, you will soon get the hang of it. It has similar qualities to polymer clay when it dries, except you don't need an oven to bake it. Cold porcelain can take around 24 to 48 hours to fully dry depending on temperature and humidity. You can also You can also glaze the finished piece with a varnish or clear nail polish, or UV/Epoxy resin, just as you can with other clays.
