HELLO??? SABO'S NEW VIVRE CARD GOT RELEASED!!! i don't know what's up with today and all the new content but i won't complain!!!
even if i always feel iffy about vivre cards since their "canonicity" is veeeeery up to debate, i do enjoy finally knowing that sabo's least favorite food is truffle <3 it also makes a lot of sense since it's considered a luxury food and always served at fancy meals... god i love him.
i'm also THRILLED to know that his bounty is currently "unknown". can't wait for that 3+ billion beri bounty hehe
anyway, what striked me the most are the very last lines of the tweet.
Tumblr media
"is this checkered fate a coincidence? or perhaps..."
that. if you follow me/know my blog/read my url once you should know exactly what thought process that single sentence prompted.
but putting my rose-colored goggles aside...
i've been thinking about the will of D. often ever since i've started reading one piece, and i have lots of thoughts and theories about it that i don't think i'll ever have the courage to elaborate and share with a wider public outside my own circle of friends. one of those silly thoughts though, i'm willing to share for this particular case.
i think there could be the possibility of the D. being not only connected to bloodlines, but inherited through strong bonds and twists of fate. i know ace and luffy put the D. in sabo's name for fun when they were kids, but how the three's bond is always described to be everlasting, a true example of family and brotherhood...
that "or perhaps" could then signify that sabo is indeed a D., too. which would open up a lot more roads, and prompt a lot more questions about what is the will and how do you inherit it and why.
it's just so interesting! i really hope more will be revealed about it soon!!! especially in relation to sabo!

ohh! thanks for the response! if you don’t mind me asking, who is tanya? (they were in the dnd story, I saw! which was a joy, by the way.)
hey it's my pleasure. ask away. The author tends to interrupt when I get into spoiler country. speaking of...?
Just say whatever comes to mind. It's not a spoiler, it's a preview. (And thank you! I really enjoyed writing it!)
sick. deets under the cut.
Tanya Miller! "twilight_tone", or just TT for short. sort of an in-joke that stuck. Trans woman, (she/her). couple years younger than me. significantly taller (sorry, I'm bad with feet and inches). sorta looks like uhhh Raven from Teen Titans? i don't watch that myself. anyway, we are dating.
lol yeah, surprise! girlfriend! polyam girlfriend! we met years back at a flea market... actually, no. wait. First, we met in a dream. THEN we had the physical meet-cute at the flea market.
sounds weird, right? agreed! Coincidences happen a lot but not like that. We started talking, realized we're both magicians (of a sort), and ended up hanging out for the rest of the afternoon, sifting through interdimensional bootlegs. Then we bailed, and I crashed at her apartment, and I, uh... got that second taste.
see... Tanya is a Dreamer with a capital D. She's not hooked up to Oneiroi or w/e, she just sorta falls asleep and roams the collective unconsciousness, all wild and strange. Sometimes she finds art. Sometimes... nightmares.
or maybe memories?
hard to tell sometimes.
...ANYWAY. turns out she's pretty accepting. We've been dating ever since. We're good at keeping each other grounded.
uhhh what else what else. TT sculpts dreamscapes every so often but she's mostly a visual artist. does lots of normie commissions in between naps. Drew my fursona more than once. OH and she's into Jojo! bc of course she is. Stand users, fated to meet, blah blah. Silly shit. But the fun kind! Mostly.

Hi, I've been scrolling through your blog and I really like your style, it's so dynamic!! I was wondering: Is there any Randi lore you'd be willing to share? Her family tree has me curious, and I love hearing about other ppl's WoLs :D But no worries if not! Hope you have a great day ^^
Gosh reading this makes me so happy ;w; I love when people take an interest on my OCs, it's no problem at all!! Also, thank you for enjoying my artstyle, it means a lot!! ;w;/
There is SO MUCH Randi lore i've talked about on my ffxiv twitter and not mentioned here, so i'm gonna try to keep this short and sweet!
Here's some info on her bio and in the "others" tab you can find a chronology of her life up to A Realm Reborn! More under the cut.
As for her family tree, it's pretty convoluted but long story short, her dad was an Ishgardian noble and Randi's parents were expecting him to be the heir to his family, noble grandparents decided against it due to his poor financial handling, mom and dad stole what they could get their hands on from his treasury, changed their surnames, and ran off with it to the Cieldalaes. They procceeded to make every single bad financial decision, which led to Randi growing up poor. They became fishermen and their bad treatment to their eldest daughter + forcing her to work for them/not attend school during her childhood made her run from home with her little brother Alm, and the rest is detailed on her chronology on the link i provided above. Randi's mother, Ivanne, had an older brother, Brunaux, who had also ran from home to become a sky pirate a few years before the whole stealing ordeal went down. He came back after she had already gone, and was able to make up with their parents before their passing. He's part of the Redbills, and he and Randi were able to figure out they're family by pure coincidence! He's the one who gifted her his redbill scarf, and she considers him her only family.
About Randi! She's loud and rowdy, surprisingly charismatic and a warm presence in any room. Not particularly careful or refined, has an awful stealth and believes in fate to an extent. Enjoys the company of others and more often than not you'll find her the loudest voice in a bar, surronded by ordinary people and drinking alongside them, but she also takes her time to be alone and can be found at the top of the Agrius whenever she needs some silence. She's not as honest as she presents herself to be, and more willing to lend an ear than to voice her own troubles. But most of all, she's incapable of staying in a single place for long; at the end of the journey, when all is well, the road calls and she will follow.
Also! She did get to learn a bit when traveling with Alm, but her reading and writing skills are ATROCIOUS and she feels self-conscious everytime she has to peruse books for scion purposes; even more so around Alphinaud and Alisaie, so young and yet miles ahead of her. She's a slow, finger under the line you're reading, mouthing the letters as you read kind of reader. As a last fun fact, she did learn some dragonspeak from Midgarsormr! She used to take the moments she'd go up the Agrius to practice some with him, before the Omega raids happened. Knows enough to even speak a very broken, human adapted version of it, which started a widespread belief in Ishgard that she's part dragon and commands them :)c
Anyways if you got this far! Thank you for taking an interest on my babygirl and props to you for reading all that! More to come in the future 🫡

💗pick a card: future spouse’s first impressions 💗
Tumblr media
hey guys, welcome back to another tarot reading! you can tell this was meant to go up in october but here it is anyway...we’ll be finding out what your future spouse’s first impressions of you will be. choose a character from howl’s moving castle using a method that works for you and click/tap keep reading to find your message. pile one is sophie, pile two is calcifer, and pile three is howl. enjoy :D
pile 1: sophie
4 of pentacles, 8 of wands, 2 of wands, 3 of wands, 6 of swords, knight of wands on bottom
you’ll give your future spouse the impression of someone who has stagnated and is trying to run away from their problems/responsibilities. you may be trying to go overseas, to travel and to leave/escape. maybe there is a group of people you don’t want to be around anymore, you don’t like your career, or you just have passions that you want to pursue elsewhere. you’ll come off as someone with a lot of fire that’s being stifled. they’ll think you’re exciting and full of life.
queen of wands, the fool, 3 of pentacles, king of wands
feisty, creative, someone effervescent, maybe even reckless and arrogant– this is how you’ll come off to your future spouse at first. they’ll also see you as someone hardworking and willing to collaborate with people. they’ll think that you have a lot of energy.
camellia, asters, pansy on bottom
they’re going to think that it was fate that you two met, that it wasn’t a coincidence at all. they’ll have kind, sweet thoughts of you after the first meeting. their energy is much more grounded than yours, more earthy and slow. they are patient while you are like a spitting fire. I think they’re going to really appreciate and admire this about you– you have what they don’t. they’re like a moth attracted to a flame.
codependency and embrace love, influencing factors on bottom
they may be dealing with codependency issues and working on allowing love back into their life when you two first meet. there may also be other factors like their career or family affecting them.
the house, the tree, the scythe, the caterpillar, the dog on bottom
something stable and established suddenly ending to allow the exploration of a new path. again, you will try to leave, escape, and abandon something. it could be a career you’ve had for a while, it could be your family. but it will lead to you discovering your future spouse, who will be loyal to you.
stickers
study abroad, tech, health, english, an epiphany or realization, travel, feeling lost, contemplation, architecture, interior design, moving on, “bye”, new opportunity, completion, career, wishes, phone calls, music, finding your place in the world, taking flight, september, january, may, graduation, luck, paris, backpacking, vacation, slowness, hard work, school
zodiac signs: virgo, aquarius, sagittarius, leo, aries
song: eight by IU
thanks for stopping by! 🧸
pile 2: calcifer
the lovers, 3 of cups, death, 9 of swords, page of swords, 10 of swords
you two will probably meet at a wedding, a party, or some type of gathering. they will notice you dancing and having a good time. you’ll seem graceful and lovely, very elegant. perhaps you’ll be wearing clothes that flow. you will give them the impression that you’re out of their reach or out of their league. it really kind of seems like love a first sight. they’ll want to talk with you and strike up a conversation, but they’ll be nervous and anxious about it. you might intimidate them a bit. you’ll seem like someone bright and intelligent with a touch of neuroticism. they’ll see you as someone that has transformed somehow or gone through a change/transition. the event may happen during scorpio season, and they will try to approach you just as the night is ending. you give off a slightly guarded energy.
7 of pentacles, 3 of swords, 10 of swords, 4 of wands on bottom
perhaps you will be fresh out of a relationship/break up when you first meet your future spouse. you seem to be taking things slow to them. there is something that’s ended in your life at this point which leaves you heartbroken. they’ll see you persevering through this challenge regardless.
nasturtium and lily, gerbera daisy on bottom
they will think that you are determined to overcome what has hurt you. it seems like they may have a very high regard for you– almost like putting you on a pedestal. admiration and thinking you are virtuous, someone with a good moral compass. they think you are quite perceptive and observant as well. despite whatever difficulty you’ll be experiencing at the time, your future spouse will see that you’re having fun and trying to enjoy yourself regardless.
trust your intuition, self love on bottom
they might think that you’re focusing on taking care of yourself when they meet you, and you give off the impression of really knowing yourself inside and out. there’s an independence and confidence you exude.
the ring, the letter, the key, the snake
again, you two likely meet at a wedding and they try to talk with you/strike up a conversation after you find out about something treacherous. you might have been cheated on or discovered a betrayal of sorts.
stickers
leo, august, emotional/moody, december, taurus, july, text messages, coffee date, going with the flow, gemini, baby steps, writing, the blues, beauty, bittersweetness, cute/adorable, understanding, they think you have a vibrant personality, a good life
letters: U, I, S, F
song: 9 & 3/4 by TXT
zodiac signs: gemini, scorpio, leo, taurus
thanks for stopping by! 🧸
pile 3- howl
knight of pentacles, the emperor, 7 of cups, 10 of swords, page of cups, ace of pentacles on bottom
you’ll give off very stable and hardworking energy. huge no bs vibes. it seems like you might be in a position of authority. either way, you’ll seem slow/meticulous/thorough to your future spouse. independent. focused and firm, even a bit guarded. you’re not one to rush into decisions– you’d rather take your time and see how things play out. something about you will seem ambivalent and indecisive, however. I think it is in regards to friendships and relationships. like you’re not really interested but have may options and you’re just window shopping, seeing what people can offer you. your future spouse is going to guess that you do this as a defense mechanism and that past situations must have taught you to act in this way. it seems like they approach you anyway with sweetness and innocence.
7 of cups, knight of cups, 6 of wands, 7 of pentacles on bottom
yeah, they think you have many options and suitors available to you, but they decide to pursue you anyway. you’re hesitant, but they are kind. you two seem to enjoy a harmonious relationship. it is slow and peaceful.
pink rose, yellow rose on bottom
there is a distinct sweetness and lightness to the way they interact with you. it almost seems venusian. I think you two will have a good friendship to stabilize the connection, or a friend/friend group will be involved.
commitment, embrace love on bottom
you will need to open your heart to your future spouse, but they will be committed to you. the connection is deep and faithful.
the coffin, the garden, the birds, the scythe on bottom
it seems like you will go through some type of ending before you meet your future spouse. you two might meet outside or at a party/gathering of sorts. it will be loud and lively as well as sudden. it could be a work convention or something similar.
stickers
a gathering, integrity and consistency, you seem hardworking, good luck and fortune, growth, new beginnings, november, leo, power and ego, some past conflict, june, sadness, they are childlike and know how to embrace innocence– it warms your heart, flexibility, problem solving, overthinking, truth, and epiphany or a breakthrough, a stable home
song: somebody else by the 1975
letters: B, T, Y, S, M
zodiac signs: virgo, aries, pisces, leo
thanks for stopping by! 🧸

His Lovely Girl.
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x F!Reader
Genre: Angst, Fluff
Requested: nope
Warnings: insecurity
Summary: Sebastian spoils her all the time. What has she ever done for him? When someone leaves a rude comment under her Instagram post, she can't help but rethink her entire relationship with the handsome actor.
Author's Note: Hiya peeps! We're back to Marvel lol, enjoy!
---
"I'll see you later, dove, have fun!" Y/N grinned when her boyfriend leaned over, pressing his lips to her forehead. "Bye, Seb, I'll miss you," she whispered and he looked down at her, his heart swelling in his chest, full of appreciation for her. He loved her so much. "I'll miss you too, Y/N, but I'll only be gone for around 6 hours." Y/N pouted and he couldn't help it.
He leaned over and pressed his lips to hers in a chaste kiss. "I know. Go now, I don't want to be the reason you're late." He laughed heartily when she pushed him away with a smile. "Oh, doll, everyone knows about us, they'll know anyway." With that, he waved at her and left the apartment they shared. Y/N had moved in with him 2 years into dating.
Sebastian Stan; let's just say, he was a busy man. Y/N sighed and got up from the bed, feeling hungry. They had started dating 4 years ago, and what years those were; the most blissful ones in both their lives. They loved each other to death, and they knew that. Y/N waddled into the kitchen and looked around the various cabinets, finding a box of Mac and Cheese.
It was a funny story, actually, how they met. Y/N, at the time, was working as a barista at Starbucks. One day, Sebastian had walked into the Starbucks where she worked, and she was the one who took his order. He was extremely polite, funny and a bit awkward and just like that, she fell in love with him all over again. Y/N was a Marvel geek and Sebastian had noticed.
"I really like your hoodie, doll, where'd you get it?" he had asked her after telling her his order. And she had looked down, seeing the custom-made hoodie she wore. It was black in colour, but one of the sleeves was silver and had a red star on the bicep, just like his arm from the movie Captain America: Winter Soldier.
Bucky's trigger words were printed on the front of the hoodie. She had blushed furiously, simultaneously cursing and thanking her fate and coincidence. "I had it custom made," she had told him at the time and he had grinned so wide he thought his mouth would tear open. That was the moment where he, too, realized that he was getting a crush on the pretty barista.
And he hadn't hesitated to ask her for her number. He had taken a tissue paper, scribbled his number down and had written what's yours? ;) underneath. When he went to pay for his coffee, he purposely made sure that he wasn't giving her any change. With his notes, he slid her the tissue and she took it, giving him a confused look.
When she read it, her breath hitched. While pulling out his change, she had discreetly written her number down on the tissue, saved his on her phone and had given the tissue back to him with the coins. Both of them had grinned widely at each other when he left. While walking home, he had taken out the tissue and had seen her number written neatly under his. And his heart raced, Y/N is worth it.

yn_yln Mac and Cheese, anyone? :D
Y/N smiled and logged out of her Instagram account after posting the photo. She just couldn't resist; she looked good that day, one of those days where she felt confident enough to post a picture. She kept her phone away and sauntered into the sitting room to watch something on the television. An hour passed before she yawned, feeling tired.
2:05 pm, her watch displayed. Well, there's no harm in an afternoon nap, am I right? Sebastian wasn't home anyway, and it's not like she had anything to do. Grabbing her phone off the dining table, she walked into hers and Sebastian's shared bedroom, plopping down on the bed. She decided to check her Instagram before falling asleep and opened the said app.
She went through the page that displayed all the likes and comments, pausing at one comment. Her heart dropped as she clicked on the comment, her entire being filling with an uneasy feeling. You're only dating him for the money, admit it. Until then, she had never even thought… about that. Throwing her phone to the side she sat up, breathing heavily.
Y/N was currently jobless. After they started going out, she continued working at Starbucks until last year; Sebastian had suggested that she leave the job and work somewhere better, earn a higher salary. Y/N had discarded the idea at first, since the job paid enough for her to go about her daily things and where would she even find another job?
Starbucks was okay. But Sebastian wouldn't hear it. So she left the job, now jobless. She had applied to a few places but hadn't received any news as of yet. They're right. I'm living off of him. I don't even have a job. What does it look like? A broke woman dating a rich, handsome guy? Oh my God, am I leeching off his hard work? All those thoughts rushed through her head in a span of a few seconds.
The more she thought about it, the more she teared up. Blinking the tears away, she lay back down and curled up under the comfortable blankets. His blankets. She closed her eyes, trying her hardest to fall asleep but the tears were proving it to be difficult. Fortunately, she drifted off into an uneasy slumber 15 minutes later.
---
"Baby, I'm home!"
Silence. Sebastian frowned, carefully walking into the house. "Y/N?" he called out but there was no answer. Keeping the bag he was holding away, he walked further into the apartment, stopping at the doorway of their bedroom. "Aw," he whispered under his breath, smiling, stepping into the bedroom. He gently sat next to his sleeping girlfriend.
His knuckles traced her cheeks but he froze. Why is she so cold? His soft touch was enough to wake her up, because she stirred and blinked up at him. "Seb, hi, welcome back." Her voice was hoarse. "Y/N? Did you fall sick?" he asked worriedly as she sat up, distancing herself from him. "I'm not sick," she muttered but Sebastian wouldn't buy it.
He reached out to cup her cheek, feeling like he had been stabbed multiple times when she leaned away from his touch. "Y/N?" She shook her head and looked out of the window, bringing her knees to her chest. "Just wanna be alone right now." She didn't want to send him away. She wanted to sit in his lap, listen to him rambling about his day…
But she also didn't want to be near him. Do I even deserve him? "What happened?" he insisted, his eyes going wide when she glared at him. "Go. Away." He scrambled off the bed without another word, softly closing the door behind him as he walked into the sitting room, running a hand through his hair. He sat down on the couch and looked around.
What happened in those 6 hours that he was away? Sebastian knew she wasn't on her cycle, it still had another week to come. So it wasn't mood swings. His eyes landed on the empty bowl of Mac and Cheese sitting on the dining table but they skimmed right past it, not knowing that that bowl was the reason for Y/N's sadness. Then he stared at the designer handbag on the opposite couch.
Picking up the bag, he strode back to their room, knocking on the door. Maybe seeing a pretty purse would lighten her mood? "What?" Y/N called out from inside and he opened the door, holding the purse up. "I brought you a gift." Y/N's heart started thudding in her chest and tears glistened in her eyes anew as she stared at the bag with utmost resentment.
"I don't want it."
Sebastian went rigid. She never rejects my gifts. "Y/N—" She started shaking her head. "No. Return it. I'm not taking it. I don't want it," she repeated, her glare now directed at him. "But doll…" he tried, freezing when her jaw clenched. "Get out." Disheartened, he walked out once more, more confused than anything. Now I have to know what happened.
Inside the room, Y/N sobbed silently. The bag was so pretty, her favorite color, the sleek design… she wanted to keep it so bad, but she knew she wasn't worthy of it. Sebastian brought her gifts all the time. Most of them expensive as shit; he had the money to blow off. What had she done for him? Nothing, really. He spoiled her heartily, never once allowing her to do the same.
"You're mine, baby girl, mine to love, mine to cherish, mine to spoil."
She was definitely leeching off him. Outside the room, Sebastian took out his phone and texted Y/F/N, who was Y/N's closest friend. They rarely spoke, but Y/N told Y/F/N everything and he knew she'd have answers.
hey, do you know what's up with y/n
why what happened
she's in a really bad mood
she's angry at me and I brought her a gift but she won't take it
she usually loves them but today…
OH WAIT
I know what happened
she texted me in the afternoon
something about a comment on Instagram or something
ig that's why she's in a bad mood
oh
thanks
I'll check it out
He ended the conversation and opened Instagram, seeing a new post from his dear girlfriend. Sebastian couldn't help but smile as he liked the photo, commenting a heart emoji. There were only around 22 comments on the post, so he decided to go through them. Which comment had triggered her? He found it instantly and his nostrils flared.
Replying to the fairly rude comment, he typed, how about you fuck off and mind your own damn business? If you don't like her, unfollow and leave. There's literally nothing else you need to do. After hitting send, he kept his phone away and, determination shining in his eyes, ran back to the bedroom.
He threw open the door and a sob escaped the lips of the startled woman. He started taking off the annoying clothes he was wearing until he was just in his boxers, sliding into the bed next to her. She attempted to push him away but the strong man didn't budge, holding her on his lap as she thrashed. Soon, she gave up the fight and melted against him, crying her eyes out.
"I'm sorry," she apologized again and again, her breath hitching. "Hush, baby, it's okay, I'm not mad," he whispered, rubbing her back, helping her calm down. She rested her head on his shoulder, her arms tight around him. "Tell me the truth. What happened?" he asked even though he knew the answer. Tiredly, Y/N narrated everything; from the comment to all her insecurities.
Sebastian gently cupped her cheeks, wiping her tears off. "Y/N, you're mine. I love taking care of you, I love spoiling you, and I don't do it because I expect something in return, I do it because I love you. Don't listen to strangers on the internet, what better work do they have? Nothing but lowlifes. You don't have to do anything for me. I don't want you to do anything for me."
"But Seb…"
"No. No, you're my girlfriend and only the best for my girl. I love all the gifts you get me. I cherish them wholeheartedly. Just you being my girl is a gift better than anything else in the world, to be honest. But I'm going to continue looking after you whether you like it or not. You don't even have to go to work, I'm here for you. I love you." Y/N teared up again.
They were happy tears.
"I love you so much," she cried weakly and Sebastian pulled her to him, cradling her head, breathing her in. "I love you too, doll. Now will you take my gift, please?" She nodded against him and he gently lowered her on the bed, going outside to get the bag. Once back in their room he handed the bag to her, smiling at the way her eager hands reached up to accept the gift.
As he watched her admiring the bag, he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her, till death do them part.
His girl, his lovely girl.

Tumblr media
You loved Fred Weasley since the moment you first laid eyes on him. As if it was fate, from on that very magical day, you just happened to be around him, accidentally bumping into him, having the only space available beside you in classes, giving him no option but to be seated beside you. For a mere second you thought it was a coincidence, but when he finally asked you out it became very clear that it was anything but a coincidence. Fred made sure to be around you at all times and it seemed you were the only one who didn’t know about his interest in you.
Of course, you fell for his bubbly, loud personality as much as his good looks. There wasn’t a single thing you didn’t like about him. He certainly got on your nerves at times, wanting nothing but to pull your hair out, but if anything, that made him even more irresistible.
You were walking towards a large black door, with two cardboard boxes packed on top of each other, trying to balance them in your arms. From the clattering sound, you were fairly sure it contained kitchen utensils. Gently kicking the door in with one leg, you stepped inside the house with a large smile across your face, stopping for a moment to look around and admire the interior. Moving wasn’t something you were comfortable with as you have lived in the same house since the day you were born. But knowing that particular day was the very first of many that you were to spend living together with Fred, having your own house to yourself made up for all the negativity within you. The simple thought of waking up beside Fred every single day made you smile foolishly.
“I love you, darling, but you are scaring me,” he snorted as he stood beside you with three other boxes in his hands, holding them as if they weighed nothing. “If I knew moving together with me would make you this happy, I would have asked before,” he added as he hinted a small kiss on your cheek and walked past you, heading towards the kitchen.
“Well, you could have,” you pouted, thinking about the imaginary scenarios you could have experienced with him if he had just asked you to move in with him sooner. Heaving a heavy sigh, you followed him to the kitchen. “Your timing has never been the best,” you shrugged as you placed the boxes on the dining table.
“What is that supposed to mean?” he frowned in confusion.
“It took you a year to ask me out, it took you a month to kiss me and it took you 3 years to ask me to move in with you. Let’s be honest, Fred, you love taking your time,” you grimaced playfully.
“It’s not my fault you didn’t show any interest in me. It took me months to even get you to look at me—,”
“Hold on a minute!” you cut him off. “I have liked you way before you liked me, sir,” you snorted in disbelief. “It’s not my fault you were too blind to realise it,”
“True—,” he nodded seriously. “I don’t even know what I was thinking. What foolish person could resist this?” he smirked as he ran his hands over his body in a comical manner, making you laugh loudly.
“Oh, I love your confidence,” you replied as you walked up to him, hinting a kiss on his lips.
“What can I say?! I’m pretty handsome and I have a quick mind. I’m quite a catch if you ask me,” he smiled proudly.
“I’m glad you are happy with yourself, do you care what I think?” you asked with a questioningly raised brow.
“I think I already know. You are moving in with me after all,” he snorted with a wide and proud grin across his face. You looked at him with a deadpan expression, taking a deep breath.
“Do you want me to turn around? I’m not sure I have space beside that huge ego of yours in this house,” you retorted.
“Come on, love, that’s one of the reasons you fell for me,” he winked playfully as he wrapped his arms around you. “Besides, you love me too much to pack up and leave,” he chuckled with a proud smile across his face. However, you wore a serious expression, one that clearly showed you were debating your options. You weren’t angry at him, you could never be, but for Godric’s sake he needed his ego to be humbled.
Removing his hands from you, you walked back to the table and picked up the two boxes, heading towards the exit. “What are you doing?” he asked with confusion in his voice.
“Don’t you know me?” you turned around with an innocent smile on your face. “I always do the opposite of what I’m told to do. Now, I will prove you wrong, pack up and leave,” you turned back around and continued towards the door. Sure, it might have been a low blow and not the most ethical joke, but if anyone, Fred had practiced the worst of his pranks on you at times. He deserved a bit of humbling experience.
“Hold up there, princess,” he ran after you with a panicked expression as if he really believed you were ready to leave. “I didn’t mean any of that. I was just joking around. Let’s just go back to the kitchen, we will make a cup of tea and sit down—,” he started looking around frantically as if searching for something. “well, we don’t have chairs yet,” he added quickly, searching for any other furniture that you could occupy.
“We have a bed,” you replied with a cheeky smile across your face as you placed the boxes on the carpet. Standing up, you met a very confused Fred, a deep frown sitting across his brows. You raised a questioning brow, trying to make him understand that you were only joking. “Where is your quick mind now?” you asked, chuckling.
“It wasn’t funny,” he pouted as he shook his head, realising you hadn’t even thought about leaving. Although he looked like a sulking little boy, he couldn’t hide the small smile in the corner of his lips.
“Fred Weasley, do you really think I’m such a fool to leave the best person that I have ever met? I would head to St. Mungo’s straight away,” you giggled as you wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him down for a kiss, enjoying his arms sneaking around your waist, pulling his body flush against yours.
“So, we have a bed, huh?” he asked chuckling, but you just rolled your eyes.
“Yes, we do, and it will still be there after we finished packing,” you added with a cheeky smile.
“Oh, come on, we need to break it in,” he tried to change your mind, but you just shook your head with a content smile.
“How is that saying? ‘Good things come to those who wait’,” you giggled as you hinted a kiss on his cheek, picked up the boxes that you foolishly kept bringing back and forth and headed to the kitchen once again.
“You will be the death of me, woman!” he groaned, but reluctantly started packing, knowing the faster you were to finish with the boxes, the quicker he could get you to break-in that bed.

Hi! I wanted to request a story where Hange asks Onyankopon to look out for Levi in case something happens to her and to not leave him alone, even after he recovers from his injuries 😭❤️. I love the way you write both Levi and Hange without being self-indulgent and I thought of asking you this, but only if you have the time to write. I know you’re currently working on other Levihan stories and you also have your own personal life and I don’t want to impose on you, so whenever you feel like it. I just wanted to share this idea with you.
Title: Coast Lights
Summary:
"Once or twice a year----or sometimes even less frequently than that, the moonlight would kiss the coast in a way that only the ocean would understand.
At the mercy of that breathtaking view, Levi let out a strange sound, a mix between a crack and a ragged breath. Then he spoke up. 'I can’t help but think, Hange would have liked to see this.'"
After the war, Levi still thought about Hange and maybe Hange still thought about him too.

Notes: I have been meaning to write a post 139 fic for a long time and this prompt just took the cake anon, thank you so much for sharing and also for your kind words. Sorry it took a while, this prompt meant a lot to me and I wanted to be in the right mood when I wrote it.
As always, feedback is very much appreciated :D
Once or twice a year----or sometimes even less frequently than that, the moonlight would kiss the coast in a way that only the ocean would understand.
Sometimes, the moon and the stars cooperated. Sometimes they created their own luminescent paths along the black of the sky. Some lights would fall to the ground in streams. Then by coincidence or maybe by fate, the streams of light would dance amongst the glowing blue, making yellows and reds out of the sand underneath.
Times like those, the beach was chaos, a war of lights, where each source was fighting for the privilege of being seen by even the most casual bystander. Of course they would fight to be seen, that beach, isolated by two imposing cliffs at opposite ends never got too many passers by.
Hange was just one of the lucky witnesses. She was the witness to a beautiful war, one of the only wars maybe that she would have liked to be part of.
She ran to one end, stretching her hand out towards the cliffs, only pulling back when she was millimeters away from touching them. She then spun around and studied the beach, tracing with her eyes, the blue glow that lined the coasts.
Glowing blue jellyfish. She remembered reading about them in one of Armin’s books once.
She wished she could have seen them as a kid. With a little more wonder and with a little more innocence, maybe she could have thought they were magic. Maybe she could have believed miracles were real.
She had spent her earlier years trapped within the walls. Then her later years outside the walls but ironically, trapped by duty and obligation.
Now you’re free. She told herself, a feeble attempt to propel herself forward. Freer than ever. That one reminder proved more melancholic than happy.
She had fought for freedom her whole life. At that moment, she was blessed with the ultimate freedom and she felt guilty for not celebrating, even just a bit.
But it wasn’t the type of freedom most people would ask for. Of course she wouldn’t be completely jubilant about it.
Beggars can’t be choosers. That was the saying that echoed inside her.
Hange modified it into something more relatable.
Soldiers can’t be choosers. Soon after, she brushed away before it grew to anything worse.
She stretched again then ran forward, careful not to jostle the blue jellyfish that had settled at the coast. Then she laughed when she realized it wouldn’t matter.
Although she had grown accustomed to the lightness, to the disconnect over time, sometimes the old habits presented themselves in bouts of an ingrained respect for nature, in bouts of curiosity and wonder towards the world.
There were parts of the world she had never seen before and she had an eternity to explore.
That was one perk of freedom.
Funnily, she had chosen to tie herself down.
It wasn’t the best decision. Although sometimes, she considered the opportunity cost. When she looked back at the house up on the hill, only accessible through the precarious steps that lined the steep cliff, she remembered, it was an easy enough decision to make.
The world could wait. She could experience the world and its beauties in the next life, then the next life after that.
There was someone she would rather not keep waiting.
She climbed up the steps, only held together by ropes. When it was anyone else climbing, they would wobble, they would swing from left to right. For Hange, and Hange alone, they stayed still, made the climb all the easier and Hange was up before she even counted eighty steps.
The field was easy to run through. Maybe because as the house got nearer, she only ran faster. And she knew that if she scurried to the right of the porch, there would be a wide window and he would be there, sitting like he always was.
He didn’t greet her. Too engrossed in his book maybe?
Hange knew there was a more obvious answer to that.
She entered through the window and that time, she didn’t bother to pretend she was still at the mercy of natural laws. Even after months, it was surreal but when she imagined the mustiness by just the state of the dim room, she allowed herself to be pulled back to the world, even just by her imagination.
Levi’s reaction to her entrance though was a glaring reminder that it was only imagination.
Hange still liked to make conversation. “What are you reading this time?”
He didn’t reply.
She wasn’t bound by natural laws, nor was she bound by social laws. So she stood behind him, bent her head forward and read over his shoulder.
Simple prose, unknown characters, not recommended to start a story mid novel. The words blurred together quickly and Hange decided that it wasn’t worth her time to read through. Instead, she focused on his side profile and she traced the scar on his right eye. It was almost fully healed, save for the raw pink and the unseeing eye underneath.
“We could have been matching,” she said. Really, she probably would have gotten rid of the eyepatch if she knew he wouldn’t have bothered even getting one.
She didn’t know how long she was staring, how long she was following his eyes as they skimmed over lines. Restlessness had settled with the rhythm and the predictability of the small details.
Restlessness would settle but it would never die out. Hange was constantly impatient, she was constantly bored.
His concentrated face though and just the little details that composed him were enough to make time tick for her, albeit slowly.
When reading, his eyes would dart from left to right, sometimes his lips would move as a small and subtle movement. When he looked up, then behind him, Hange jumped.
Did he see me?
Surprise then bliss came and went in a split second. No, he didn’t, there had been someone else at the door.
“Levi, it’s late. You should go to bed,” Onyankopon said.
Hange begrudgingly sank back towards the corner of the room.
“I’m fine. I never slept more than three hours a night back---”
“Back in the military right?” Onyankopon interrupted. Then, he sighed. “You’re not as strong as you were before. Besides, there’s not much of war you’ll need to fight anyway, it’s best you use this time to recover.”
Levi didn’t reply. Instead he dog eared the book, closed it and dropped it on the side table. A sign for Onyankopon to go ahead, wheel him back to his bedroom.
Hange followed behind. In Levi’s bedroom, she stood a foot away and watched as Onyankopon methodically went through the process of pulling out his pajamas and dropping it on the bed then he helped Levi out of the wheelchair, gently propping him on the bed. He left the room long enough for Levi to undress.
Hange had some decency to turn her back. A naughty part of her had her settling on the bed, just for some hint of an illusion that maybe in another life they could have----.
Before she could even say it, she let out a hushed laugh. Then something louder when she realized, he probably wouldn’t hear it anyway.
The door creaked open again. “Levi, are you okay? You want anything?”
“Nothing.” Levi’s voice was muffled, his back facing the door.
“It’s a nice night outside. If you get bored, just look at the window, maybe it’ll help you sleep.”
Or maybe it could do the complete opposite. For Hange, there were more than enough constellations to trace, paths to put her thumb over. She wished she could warn him that he might not even sleep if he got lost in them. Then she remembered Levi didn’t sleep much anyway. It probably wouldn’t have made a difference.
Onyankopon let out a sigh, muttering something about a walk.
That had been more than enough to incite Hange’s curiosity. She followed again behind him. Levi was still far from healed. He probably wouldn’t be moving anytime soon anyway so maybe she could leave him, just for a moment.
After all, how many nights a year did the moonlight kiss the ocean? How many times did it take advantage of that opportunity when the coast was lined with a glowing blue? How many nights a year was the glowing blue bright enough to kiss back?
And Onyankopon had seen it too. Maybe he noticed how the night sky was a lighter blue than usual, and he saw how the streams fell deeper than the view the cliff allowed. He walked slowly at first, then he started to jog forward.
Hange did not need to make much of an effort to keep close behind. When he stepped onto the wobbly staircase, Hange was careful to pull back. She was light, most likely weightless but she didn’t want to take the risk.
So she jumped off the cliff.
Even the force of gravity didn’t demand to be felt. The pulling sensation at her gut, familiar from years working in ODM gear, was absent. Ruefully she noted, she probably would never feel it again. At the least, she got to enjoy the free fall with little to no pain at all. Whether she had landed on her ass, or her own two feet, she was in no state to tell.
She was too distracted by the glowing blue though to trifle with such details. She walked ahead, she allowed herself a quick scurry over the blue, down to the shallow waters which glowed with the same neon shades.
There were still streams of light. The moon was large, still high above the sky. And when she was staring straight ahead, counting stars and sketching shoddy drawings in the sky, she didn’t notice it or consider those two points in particular.
Something came as a hush. Then louder. “Hange?”
Hange spun around, looking back at the light blue by the coast. Just behind the rows of jellyfish was Onyankopon, his face pallid. His eyes and his mouth were both larger than what Hange had ever gotten used to, as if he had seen a ghost.
“I’m here!” Surprise or maybe desperation had her saying those words to the loudest of her abilities. She could never tell how far her voice travelled anymore, since it didn’t echo. It didn't tussle with the other sounds for its own place among them.
That time was no different. As soon as it came out of her mouth, she didn’t hope. Instead she walked back to the shore, plopped on the ground and sighed.
“God, I’m probably going crazy.” Onyankopon put a hand to his forehead and shook his head. “I should go to sleep.” His voice was tighter and Hange could have sworn she heard a crack. She didn’t even think that voices could experience wear and tear until then.
Seconds after that, Onyankopon made the trek back to the house.
Hange stayed behind. She lay back down on the sand, a bag of disappointment. An air of disappointment. A nothingness of disappointment.
When she was nothing, she was free but somehow, staring up at the sky, she realized, maybe she would have given up her freedom for just a little more time.
***
“Do you believe in ghosts?”
Falco brought it up hesitantly over lunch. Even with his experience in the war, he was surprisingly still meek, easily rattled.
“Why are you asking about ghosts?” Gabi asked as she pierced another potato with her fork, so forcefully that it almost made Hange jump.
“Well at night… maybe even really early in the morning… Sometimes I hear the creaks of the floorboard coming from Levi’s room,” Falco said. He turned to Levi questioningly. “Did you ever hear anything?”
“I’m usually asleep.” Levi shrugged as he clumsily guided another spoonful of soup to his mouth. Learning to eat with his left hand was slow going but everyday, he was making some progress.
“Does anyone else hear it?” Falco’s eyes darted, alternating between the two other faces.
“This is an old house,” Gabi said.
“But why Levi’s room… there shouldn’t be… Levi can’t even walk right?” Falco argued.
“You read too many ghost stories…” Gabi’s tone was unchanging.
“What if it is a ghost?” Onyankopon dropped his own spoon and leaned back on his seat.
Gabi’s jaw dropped. “Don’t tell me you believe him?”
“You know, I took a walk along the coast last night.” Onyankopon pointed towards the window, tracing a line with his pointer finger for emphasis. “And I thought I saw someone there.”
“Maybe it was a trick of the light,” Gabi suggested. “There are jellyfish down there at this time of year right? And there were lots of stars last night…” Her words deteriorated to unintelligible babbling and Hange almost suspected she was a little more scared than Falco was.
Onyankopon shook his head. “It looked like a person.
Gabi’s hand was halfway to her mouth before she dropped it back on the plate. “It’s a trick of the light.”
“You know, in my culture, we believe ghosts exist. Ghosts of our ancestors, our friends, they all watch over us,” Onyankopon said, his voice light. “Or that is what my grandmother used to teach me. And if you don’t believe in them… You’re insulting them… And they might just come to haunt you!” He had said that last part loudly, a stark contrast from the overall volume of the conversation. It had seemed scary at first, before settling as something more playful.
Hange snorted.
Gabi didn’t see the play in it, she screamed, jumping up. “Maybe we really should get out of here. I wanna go back to Marley…” She buried her head in her hands. Her breaths came slow and deep, sometimes in heaves and exhales.
Exasperated or terrified. Before Hange could even make sense of it, Gabi quickly sat up.
Levi spoke up, his calm voice caught the attention of the room. “Even if there is a ghost here, even if there’s one in my room…” He worked his way slowly through those words.
Falco interrupted. “Aren’t you scared?”
Levi shook his head. “No, I feel more comforted than scared.”
“Why?” Falco asked. He moved to the seat next to a seemingly shaken Gabi.
Levi was playing with his food then and it looked as if he had no intention of putting it in his mouth. He hummed for a second longer.
“I’ve seen a lot of death in my life,” he started. “Even after my friends die, I worry about them. I wonder what happens to them after…If they see darkness or if they really just stop…maybe they don't even know what darkness is anymore.” He paused and took a deep breath. “But if ghosts exist at least I’m reassured, when people die, they don’t just… stop existing. It’s a reminder that maybe even after death, it’s not just nothing. There’s something after...” Levi could have said something more, but he didn’t and soon the anticipation died down to dead air.
After a brief silence, conversation shifted to plans after Levi’s recovery, Gabi and Falco’s plans when they grow a little older.
Levi kept quiet, instead focusing on getting the food into his mouth and Hange couldn’t help but note, he was eating much faster. Somehow, he had managed to chew with a ghost of a smile on his lips.
***
The conversation had proved to be informative. Hange only needed her sharpened deduction skills to make use of it.
She held her working hypotheses like a charm.
Hypothesis one: She was in one world and they were in another one
Hypothesis two: Sometimes, the lines would blur.
And Hange just had to listen more closely, she just had to feel it more carefully.
Over time, she had attributed sensations, feelings as things exclusive to the rest of the world, the living and the tangible. At three in the morning, she willed herself to focus on the silence, taking stock of the characteristic something-ness of her surroundings and the characteristic nothingness of her actions as she leaned on the door of Levi’s room.
Levi was unmoving on the bed and he was a good beacon, a sight to focus on. She moved forward slowly. If she closed her eyes and willed it, she had feet, she could move forward in slow and careful steps.
One step. Then two steps. Around the third step, the floors creaked. Then the rustle of sheets filled the room then a long groan.
Those last few movements weren't her doing. Despite his injuries, Levi had quickly pushed himself to a sitting position. Even in the darkness, the wince was very visible and Hange dropped her little experiment, rushing forward towards the bed.
He didn’t feel her hands on her shoulders, he didn’t grip when she slipped her hand under his. When she looked into his eyes, she saw they were far from blank. He was looking down at the floorboards, and it looked like he was searching for something.
He continued to stare.
Hange counted a few more seconds, then a minute.“Are floorboards really that interesting?” She asked with a laugh.
He didn’t answer.
Maybe Hange could have walked back to the doorway, then made the path back to the bed again, just to let the floorboards creak one last time. She made herself comfortable though, working for a semblance of a tingle as she lay on the bed next to Levi.
She felt a pang of regret when Levi let out a shuddered breath and fell back on the bed. She had known him long enough to read disappointment.
Then she didn’t have to read him anymore, he spoke up in silence. “If you’re the ghost, you’re free to haunt me all you want. Make the floors creak as loud as you want.”
Hange though, was done for the night. Instead, she slipped her hand much further under his. It could have been her own imagination or it could have been something more.
She didn’t have enough emotion to spare to ponder all those at once. So she squeezed hard again and concluded for herself that maybe he could have felt it too.
***
The line between her world and his was a fickle thing. In time, with the right experiments, sufficient awareness of her own surroundings, patterns showed themselves and Hange was quick to pick them out.
There were times she had wanted to cry. Guilt, sadness, regret were the first line culprits. Then there was anger, frustration at the tears she couldn’t shed. For someone without a body to hold them, emotions found other ways to channel themselves, to let themselves be known.
There were heavy waves that transformed into whirlpools. They welled inside her, they swirled into every end of her body, sometimes they manifested as tingling sensations at her tips.
When Levi lay in his bed, an alarming white, Hange was sure it was everything at once.
“Pneumonia,” Onyankopon repeated, a simple enough explanation for Gabi and Falco who had hesitantly settled in the room.
Onyankopon continued. “He might have to stay overnight at the hospital. I called some help to get him transported to the nearest town.”
“Nothing they can fix here?” Falco asked.
Onyankopon shook his head. He didn’t say anything more. He was silent when help came and when the paramedics carried Levi like he was a starved child. Hange only noticed, when it had taken only one burly man to carry Levi to the ambulance, that Levi was small, very small.
Then another whirlpool of emotions took over. Anger? Pity? Regret? They were incomprehensible but they were enough to have Hange rushing behind them.
The town hospital was busier than she had expected. Her senses were suddenly heightened, maybe because it wasn’t just her world anymore. When she closed her eyes, when she let herself feel the bristle at her tips, she felt the presence of other companions. She wasn’t alone. If she called out, maybe someone would come.
Her focus was on Levi and as much as possible, she didn’t spend too much time along the hallways. She rushed into his room, behind the doctor, slipping herself through the crack of the door.
“He just has to make it through the night.” The doctor’s words were cold, firm. For a second, Hange wondered how he had managed to reach that age, making a living off of aiding patients when he had the bedside manners of a brick. “It says here he was caught in an explosion a year back, did a number on his organs.”
The smoke, the fire, maybe that was the reason, his lungs were weaker. Hange quickly deduced.
That wasn’t an excuse to die.
For a second, Hange even entertained the possibility, if he died, maybe he would see her. They could talk, catch up, hold each other. She shook those thoughts away, letting the guilt fall with it and she jumped onto the bed, next to him. “Come on, you can’t die here, You didn’t survive a decade long war just to die of pneumonia.” She let out a laugh, she timed her own breaths to the sound of the beeping of the machine, to the whoosh of the ventilator.
And she pressed herself closer to him. He was still breathing, still moving just slightly. A sign of life maybe. And the closer she went, the more she realized, she could pretend it tickled her ears.
“Fight,” she whispered.
Levi opened his eyes, turned to his side. A glimmer of hope for a second, as Hange pondered if he had seen her.
“Levi, rest.” Onyankopon was behind her again, having settled on the chair by the bedside.
Disappointed, Hange rolled out of the bed and back to the floor. The world was suddenly heavy. Whether it was their world, or hers, or both, she didn’t think too hard to tell. But she could release it somehow.
She played pretend again. She saw the side table, a bottle of water, a packet of pills and she swept over it in one violent movement.
For a second she felt hard plastic, the rough paper at her tips. Then nothing.
Everything scattered to the ground, in some chaotic order. Calm again, Hange bent down to pick it up, only to find out she didn’t feel anything again, even as she hovered closely over them.
They weren’t hers to touch anymore.
In some act of obligation or maybe act of support, Onyankopon appeared next to her. He bent down, picked up the bottle on one hand, the packet on the other then placed them back on the side table.
Then he broke the heavy silence. “Hange, if that’s you… We’re trying our best.”
When Onyankopon left for the night, it was just her and Levi in the room. Sometimes, the occasional nurse would pop in but not for long enough for Hange to have to gather herself.
She let the emotions out again, not as bursts but as streams. She found, if she gave it more than enough time to come out, they didn’t riot. They complied with limits, they acted with civility.
There was a pen on the side table, and on the wall next to Levi’s bed, there was a chart. There were numbers Hange could make sense of if she tried hard enough.
At that point, her goals were different, so she ignored it. She hovered her hand over the pouch next to it. She had managed to connect two fingers together, she just needed to do similarly with a pen in between them.
For just a second, she was successful.
But only for just a second.
The pen fell to the ground with a clatter. Hange decided it wasn’t worth it to bend over. Maybe because she theorized, if she did, she might not be able to stand up again. She stared once again at the white board. Wet hot tears welled inside her, wet hot tears that would never meet the light of day.
Hange stretched her hand out. She saw two fingers, then five as she opened up her fist, a fist she didn’t even know she had. She propped one finger nail on the board, digging it deep into the wood.
Her grip on the world was consistent enough at least that she could manage one rough and dotted line. So she traced it again and again, until the dots were completely carved over. That one straight line turned into another.
It turned out to be an unsettling sensation. The whiteboard made an ugly whittling sound, it danced even against her shaky touch. The few times their worlds connected, she felt a stinging phantom pain at her tips.
There was nothing to feel pain for her. There were no nails to break, no fingertips that could bleed. There was no living entity to take the consequences of leaving a shoddily covered sign on the whiteboard. Besides, it was small enough anyway, that anyone could easily brush it off.
Then she wondered if Levi would see it. Maybe he wouldn’t. At that point, she was too far gone, so she finished the message then allowed herself one last peek of Levi’s sleeping face. She sluggishly made her way to the corner of the room, lowered her body back down and closed her eyes.
It would be a long night.
***
By some miracle, Levi recovered quickly.
By the next morning, they removed some of the tubes. By evening, he could sit up, even for just a bit.
Hange had made enough of an effort to last even her afterlife. She was exhausted. Maybe dispirited was the right word? But it was a strange feeling that made the days move faster. She did not have much control over speed, over thought.
Even when visitors had come one after the other, even when Levi had attempted to sit up, she couldn’t bring herself to rush beside him. He was there though, he was alive and that had been good enough.
The next evening, a nurse finally pointed it out. “Someone wrote on the chart.”
“Did you coordinate the other nurses?” Onyankopon asked.
The nurse shook her head. “Not write… Carve. There’s a message here, carved on the edge of the board.” She undid it from its place on the bed and gently placed it on the side table. “Did any of your visitors do this?”
“So far, only Gabi, Falco and I have visited…” Onyankopon trailed off.
“Do you recognize the handwriting?” The nurse slid the board to a better angle, easier for Levi to crane his neck and take a look.
“It’s hard to tell…It looks like it was carved on the board with a fingernail...” Onyankopon said. “Levi, do you?”
“No.” he said it too easily.
Hange held herself closer. A part of her wanted the corner to swallow her whole.
The nurse shook her head. “Maybe we just didn’t notice it before. Could have been from another patient…” She muttered about other theories Hange didn’t bother to mule over.
Soon the nurse was out the door anyway and it was just Onyankopon and Levi in the room.
Levi spoke up. “Onyankopon… What if I told you, it looks like her handwriting?” His voice was weak. For Hange, it was strong enough to turn complete desolation to a glimmer of hope.
“If you think it’s her handwriting. I don’t see why we can’t stick with that assumption.”
Levi leaned back on the bed. “Well, it’s nice words to live by, especially if it came from her.”
Onyankopon nodded. “It is.” Then he slid his fingers over the wooden frame. “Live on.”
“Live on, Levi,” Hange whispered. To hell if those words even touched the still air of the room.
***
Hange became obsessed with noise. Many types of noise: The creak of the floorboards at her feet, the bump on the walls, the thump when items swayed with just a shrivel of wind.
The more she let emotions take over, the more things went bump and she started to realize it was an exhausting ordeal. Sometimes, the natural laws didn’t listen. Sometimes her hands didn’t connect with surfaces, sometimes hands permeated through solids.
Disheartened, Hange stood by the side of the kitchen a day after Levi was released by the hospital. He had retired to his bedroom as soon as they arrived home.
It was Onyankopon, Falco and Gabi gathered on the table. Hange took one of the empty seats, pretending that she was very much in need of the same comforts as everyone else.
“Have you ever gone down to the beach?” Onyankopon asked. It was an odd opening statement but as soon as Hange scanned the faces, noting the sullen mood. She realized there were only too many things one can say to even attempt to lighten it.
“A few times,” Gabi answered.
“But not at night right? At this time of the year?” Onyankopon asked. “Sometimes, the jellyfish would get washed up on shore and when they glow… it’s a beautiful sight.”
It has been a year since the last time Hange walked along the edge.
“What do you think?” Onyankopon asked. “We could go down, just long enough to cheer you two up.”
“We’re not sad,” Falco said, an uncomfortable grin on his face. “We’re just worried.”
“I’d rather you didn’t waste your time on that. Levi’s gonna be fine. Besides, we’ve lived here for more than a year already, it’s unbelievable to me that you haven’t seen it.”
It didn’t take much prodding after. The three made the trek all the way down from the cliff, they took to the staircase with prudence. Hange took the short more dangerous way, making the fifty feet drop down to the coast.
The blue jellyfish were there again, like they were every single other time. Onyakopon had been taking more walks, Hange had to note. Maybe that was how he had figured it out.
Eventually, they were all lined up at the coast, their expressions all showed different levels of wonder.
“I told you right? I saw someone the last time I was here,” Onyakopon started.
Gaby held herself close and Falco stepped forward, nearer to the shores.
Surprisingly, Falco had done the braver thing. “Who did you see?” He asked.
Onyankopon shook his head. “It could have been a trick of light. But you know, if you ask for a name…" He paused for a second, seeming deep in thought. "I could have sworn it was Commander Hange Zoe.”
Commander Hange Zoe.
In a world where she was a nothing, constantly floating amongst shifting lights and shifting darks, her name said aloud by someone other than herself, was a strong grip. Long ago, she was alive. Long ago, she existed. And maybe even after that, she continued to exist. If that limbo she found herself in, counted as existing.
It did count as existing. She was still very much Hange Zoe.
Realization was a burst of energy. Something that had her running forward again, just like a year ago, through the glowing blue, through the shallow salt waters that should have tickled at her shin.
It was like that scene last year again, with just two extra visitors.
“Did you see that?” Falco asked.
“See what?” Gabi asked.
Falco shook his head. “It could have been a trick of the light… But there was someone there in a green---”
“In a green cloak, then the wings of freedom?” Onyakopon said, a good guide for the two young kids.
Falco nodded. “The wings of freedom… The blue and white symbol right?”
“That was the symbol of the survey corps," Onyankopon explained.
Falco hummed. “If I’m not the only one who saw it… That means…” He still seemed unsure of his own conjecture.
And it turned out Gabi wasn’t in any hurry to help. “Ghosts don’t exist! Let’s go back upstairs.”
***
Some people saw it, some people didn’t. Hange only had to look back at her own experiences with ghosts to stumble upon the conclusion.
There were believers. There were zealots. There were warriors. There were scaredy cats, even among the battle hardened soldiers.
Over the years, it was a lingering belief, a passing one. When it became her whole life though, she decided to give it more than just a passing thought. Onyankopon could see with the right combinations of lights and Falco had proved the same.
When there were only four people in that house, barring the occasional visitor, It was only natural that her thoughts would fly to Levi. He was the only one after all among the four, who hadn’t witnessed the lights show for himself.
Timing though was a tricky thing. After all, the lights only came together once a year. If they were lucky, twice. If they were unlucky, none at all for that season. And Levi was in no position to walk, let alone climb down such a dangerous set of stairs.
A part of her would rather he never did anyway. He might even die just making the trip to the beach.
Live on. She held those words like a charm, as she sat by his bed, silently watching his sleeping face.
Even if ‘living on’ only composed of long days locked in the bedroom, of long hours in the reading room turning pages of books. After all, there was something beautiful about the small yet noticeable changes. The way Levi was sleeping more, yet waking up earlier.
He was turning pages faster. Sometimes Hange heard the rustles more incessant, loud sounds crammed into a second and she thought to herself, how it would have been nice to feel the rough paper on her skin again.
Onyankopon probably held the same thought. He never told Levi that he had seen a silhouette of Hange down at the beach. Hange could have sworn she had heard their hushed conversation about it, at three in the morning.
Would Levi have gone down if he knew?
Maybe he would have. No, Hange was sure she he would have. After all, he continued to look for her.
Hange still made the floors creak. Sometimes, they came as a high chirp, sometimes a low rumble. Still, every single one, had been enough to have Levi stirring, turning on his side, just to get a good look at the floor, the very boring wooden floor.
Sometimes, he would sit up on bed, still staring expectantly at the wooden floor underneath.
When Hange thought it important that Levi got some rest, she minimized it. Instead, forcing herself to stay calm as she lay next to him on the bedside.
And she learned overtime, at their calmest, at their most relaxed, spirits were very much invisible, maybe even dead to the world.
Dead enough to forget her own name? For a second there, she almost forgot who she was.
***
Time passed, by some miracle, Levi’s world got a little bigger. There was no prodding, no pressure to get better. It was only Levi’s pride that had him leaning on the side table, foregoing the wheel chair for slow painstaking steps.
Stairs were still a mind game, still a circle of hell for him but he had learned to let the bannisters do their work. If he held on tightly enough, shifting all the weight to his good leg, he could get down in time.
Many times, Hange had to stop herself and force herself to stand idly by. For a while, she had been almost envious of the bannister for having the right facilities to support him.
Once again, envy had her remembering, she was nothing but a ball of memories, a ball of emotions, only held together by faith and beliefs every year. It was the work of the concrete and the tangible, to keep Levi up.
Falco and Onyankopon still went down to the beach every single year. Sometimes, they called her by name, sending another wave of energy through her, letting the memories rush through her at once.
She was still Hange Zoe. She would always be Hange Zoe. In the next life, maybe in the life after that. That was what had her going, sitting by Levi’s bed every night. As long as she kept a tight grip on memories, they were still very much there.
Years passed in a very conspicuous way when there were two kids in the house.
Within years, Falco shot up. Suddenly, he was strong enough to carry Levi down the stairs on bad days. Gabi was getting taller as well, Soon, her head barely brushed Onyankopon’s ear.
It wasn’t just the people that changed though. Although that had been enough for Hange to realize, time was passing. There were other things that came abruptly.
Like an eviction notice.
“We’re gonna have to move,” Onyakopon said over lunch one day. He slapped the document on the table, and shook his head.
Of course, they couldn’t stay there forever. It wasn’t their land. They were merely paying rent, at the mercy of a landlord.
“Wait, why?”
“They wanna reclaim the land, turn it into a small port,” Onyankopon explained with a shrug.
“Wait, reclaim the land… You mean?” It was Falco who first put two and two together.
“The beach?” Gabi added.
“They’ll put more sound and soil over the water, build a street over it,” Onyankopon said.
“The jellyfish?” Falco asked.
“They’ll have to find another place to live?” Onyankopon seemed noticeably sad for a bunch of jellyfish.
“It’s not just tha--” Falco’s eyes were wide with horror. He turned to Levi before settling on the plate in front of him. “How long do we have?”
Onyankopon turned the paper around then put his finger on the first line on the upper right. “A month.”
For one season a year, the jellyfish would line the coast.
By some coincidence, or maybe by fate, it was already that season and if they were lucky, maybe they could catch it one more time in between packing things and cleaning the house.
Hange decided, she would rather it was coincidence than fate. Fate had already proven multiple times to have a cruel hand.
“You wanna go down to the beach? One time before we leave? It’s beautiful out there,” Onyakopon brought up the question while Levi had been putting away books from the shelf, throwing them into boxes.
“What does the beach have that I can’t imagine here?” Levi asked.
Maybe if Hange had a voice, she could have explained it. The way the lights mixed amongst each other, creating colors no one would have ever believed to have existed. If she was there, that would have worked. Even if the words didn’t work, if she had hands, if she had control over the tangible, she would have pulled him with one hand. Hell, she would have carried him herself.
Onyankopon had his own experiences, his own words. They turned out to be just as effective. “Hange.”
Levi looked back, his eyes wide. He didn’t respond. Maybe he had been too preoccupied with the shaking of his hands, uncontrollable shaking that ended with one heavy book splayed on the floor.
Onyankopon rushed to pick it up. “It’s beautiful down there. The jellyfish rest near the shores before they migrate elsewhere. They glow at night and the stairs look beautiful behind it. Sometimes, it’s enough to forget reality.”
Levi dropped his shoulders. “If they’re gonna reclaim the land, maybe it would be worth it to see it one last time.”
Onyankonpon sighed. “I’m gonna have to warn you, the trek is hard.”
“I think I’ve recovered enough for a small walk.”
***
A small walk was a very dangerous understatement. Levi lived on understatements though.
Hange just wanted to make sure, that understatement wouldn’t have been enough to kill him.
So she didn’t jump down. She crouched down over the cliff and watched as he descended the first steps. When she found herself having to bend over further just for a horrible and awkward angle, she decided to just take the drop and watch from the beach.
It took approximately fifteen minutes to get him down and Hange counted three times where she had ended up letting out a half scream before Falco or Onyakonpon had pulled him back at the last minute.
That one last almost-fall had been the scariest. Maybe because for that split second, Levi’s jaw dropped, his eyes widened. He seemed to have lost control of himself in that second.
Hange understood though just why he had seemed uncharacteristically disconcerted. It was in the glowing blue reflected in his eyes.
“If we show this to the landlord, do you think he’ll spare it?” Falco asked. It was a pathetic question and both a yes or a no wouldn’t have sufficed.
Levi sat back down on the sand in three stilted movements. “They don’t listen to anything but money,” he answered softly. The venom in his voice hinted that he could have said more.
“Let’s just treat this as the last time,” Onyakopon said.
Hange gripped time again and counted backwards. Five years.
Five years since Onyankopon had first seen her. Then the next year it had been the three of them. Then the remaining years it had been Falco and Onyankopon visiting.
Five times was enough though to get attached, especially when the view was strange enough to take someone’s breath away.
And it would be the last time they could appreciate that view. Hange wasn’t too surprised when she heard ragged breaths and soft sniffles behind her.
“We’ll just have to look for another one,” Falco shrugged.
“But do you think we’ll ever find one that shines the same way?” Gabi asked.
“Maybe,” Levi said.
“You know Levi, if you stare at it long enough, you might just see ghosts.” Onyankopon added playfully, close enough to Levi that it could have been just for him.
“I’d love to see a ghost,” Levi said, barely a whisper.
Hange had been close enough to hear it. She saw that as a cue to step forward, lightly over the sea of jellyfish. When she looked down, the water didn’t ripple. She hovered over it like a spirit, like air, like a trick of the light.
Onyankopon and Falco’s own belief had already convinced her long before, that with that exact way that the lights from the sky and the lights from the shores cooperated, the line between the two worlds blurred.
And there were just certain people, who could distinguish others as more than a trick of the light.
For how long would they see it? She never thought deep enough to find out so she didn’t know. If she could get a message across, it couldn’t hurt to try.
Maybe that would be the last place she could ever be visible. How many beaches shone with the same glowing blue? How many skys still glimmered with a clear view of the stars above?
More importantly, even if other places existed, were they so easily found? Especially when the three were constantly on the run from angry soldiers around the world.
Hange looked back, to see that Onyankopon and Falco had focused on her again, their mouths completely agape.
“Do you see her?” Onyankopon managed to ask, after one deep breath.
“See what?” Levi asked.
And with that question, disappointment blanketed the air of wonder.
“She’s glowing, green, brown, red just like when she died. Then a burning blue.”
Levi didn’t answer. His eyes seemed blank. They darted from each corner for a second before looking ahead then they narrowed. His lips trembled with what Hange could guess was frustration.
“And she’s smiling,” Onyankopon said.
Hange had to admit, she had let the warmth of the moment take over.
“A sad smile,” Falco continued.
Hange had to admit, she gave some of that disappointment free reign inside her.
“All I see is light,” Levi said.
“You get it!” Gabi put her hands up. “I thought I was the only one just seeing late. They made me think I was crazy for seeing nothing.”
Hange shook her head before she turned back to Onyankopon and Falco. The two were still staring. They wouldn’t hear her, Hange had tried too many times before.
But maybe if she mouthed something, they would get it. She didn’t let a silent sound escape her lips. At the same time, she made sure to enunciate every syllable.
“Did you catch that?” Falco asked.
Onyankopon only nodded. “Maybe I did.”
Hange blithely made her way back to the shore and bent over next to Levi. The sand didn’t crunch as she fell back on it. Over time they stopped making even the slightest sounds and she realized, maybe she didn’t mind being nothing.
“This might be the last time we're going to see something like this. Enjoy it,” Onyankopon said.
“I am,” Levi said.
“Take all the time you need.”
For a while they were silent. For how long? Hange didn’t bother to count anymore. Maybe it was the better choice to just let time flow in some incomprehensible way. After all, time was a concept exclusive to the living.
Levi let out a strange sound, a mix between a crack and a ragged breath. Then he spoke up. “I can’t help but think, Hange would have liked to see this.”
Onyankopon’s response came out seeming unrehearsed. “She likes it. I’m sure she does.”
“You think she got to see it?”
I got to see it every single time Levi. Hange decided, thinking it was enough.
“She was walking through it,” Onyankopon said. “Right Falco?”
Falco nodded lightly. “She was.” He had always been a genuine person and maybe that was why Levi had swallowed it so quickly, even if it could have seemed like a lie at first.
“What did she say?” Gabi asked.
Levi didn’t verbalize it. In fact, he seemed to have been asking the same question.
It was Onyankopon’s question to answer and he approached it like a painter muling over his first piece. “‘Take care of Levi.’ She told me to take care of you.”

Hii! May I request a scenario for Kuroo and a character of your choice? Whoever you feel like writing. Could it be angsty? Their s/o has a very big, visible scar on their face, which they got when they were younger. They don't seem bothered by it unless someone asks for the details, in which case they get defensive. And when people who knew them before what happened go like, "You used to be so beautiful back then" they get insecure. Please feel free not to write it if it makes you uncomfortable♡
So, I was unable to make it really angsty... so i did more of a comfort piece that i hope that whoever feels a insecure on any degree, feels a little bit more loved... and since you let me choose one character, it was obviously my boyfriend Tendou ! Hope you enjoy (:
-----
Tetsuro Kuroo
Meeting the family of a new partner was always nerve-wracking. For Kuroo it was, at least. He was spending the weekend at ______’s hometown ready to get to know better the person he had happened to fall in love with more than seven months ago. Kuro had met ______ on his second semester in college. It was supposed to be an early night for him. He was supposed to have a couple drinks and then leave. However, as soon as ______ had appeared, he decided he could stay a couple more minutes. They had happened to be friends with his friends, and it had been a coincidence for them to choose the same bar as them. Kuroo didn’t believe much in coincidences, and started to believe in fate. What could’ve been the odds? Those few minutes became a couple more hours, and he had ended up walking ______ to their dorm at five in the morning.
The chemistry had been spontaneous, and he hadn’t let them go ever since that day. He genuinely saw a future with ______, and giving their parents a good impression was in his best interest.
______ rubbed his arm reassuringly as they stepped out of the taxi. Kuroo took a look at the house, and breathed in. “It’ll be okay. They’re nice,” they said. He nodded, keeping his cool.
He followed them down the graveled path leading to the front door. ______ rang the bell a couple times, and flashed him another smile. He fixed his jacket as if there something he could do. They had hopped off from an airplane, and he looked exactly like that. His hair was slightly more disheveled than usual, and he was sure he didn’t smell that nice either. He hoped his personality could make up for it.
The door opened showing two shining smiles. ______ went straight for a hug. While their father hugged them, their mother pulled Kuroo inside the house. “It’s so good to meet you,” she said cheerfully. “He’s such a handsome boy, ______. Where did you find him?”
“Lost in the streets. Like a stray cat,” they joked. Their parents rolled their eyes at them.
“Well, lucky you,” their mother told ______, and winked an eye at Kuroo. “Go and get comfortable. Dinner is not ready yet.”
“Yes. I’m dying for a shower,” they claimed, heading for the stairs without saying anything more.
“Thank you very much,” Kuroo made sure to say, never losing his manners.
“Oh, it’s our pleasure. Go ahead.”
Kuro nodded, and shuffled a little on his place before joining ______ on the stairs. They chuckled at him and shook their head. Neither of them said anything else until they were in the safeness of the bedroom they were using for the weekend. It was ______’s childhood bedroom. Kuroo’s curiosity perked up. He chose the bookshelf first, inspecting what kind of books they had collected through their early years. “Do you want to take a shower first?” they asked, sitting next to their
“No, go ahead.”
“Okay. Knock if you need anything.”
They locked themselves on the bathroom leaving Kuroo alone in the room. He continued going through the shelves. It was easy to tell which books had been for school, and which others had been bought for a personal preference. He stumbled upon a couple of photo frames. Standing with ______ were a couple of people he had never seen—their friends from their old school most probably. The first one was from somewhen around high school. The second one was different for one special detail: there was no scar on ______ face. They were much younger than in the previous photo, way before the accident which caused the scar on their face. He continued inspecting the room, not putting much more attention to it. Once he was done, he laid down on the bed, and scrolled through his phone, waiting for his turn without a hurry. He was grateful he could rest a little after the trip.
Within half an hour both were ready. While they hadn’t made a big effort on their appearance since they were staying home for the rest of the day, Kuroo combed his hair anyway. He wouldn’t dare to go down to have dinner with his hair in a complete mess. “Looking fine,” ______ teased him.
He smirked. “I’m trying to give a good impression.”
“I see that, thank you.” They stood on the tip of their toes and kissed him on the cheek. It meant a lot to ______ to see Kuroo taking the trip seriously, and he knew this. It also meant a lot to him. He had been excited when ______ invited him to meet their parents. It was taking their relationship to a more formal ground, and he was in for it. He wanted nothing more than to solidify his commitment to their relationship.
______ exited the room first. He had never been a shy guy, but he preferred to stay behind and be cautious with his actions. No matter how much ______ and he were alike, their parents could be another story. It wouldn’t be the first time an apple fell too far from the tree.
As they approached the first floor, they heard a third voice. ______ frowned, immediately turning to see their boyfriend with a worried face. “What’s the matter?” he asked.
“That’s my aunt. She’s… kind of careless with what she says.” They huffed. “I didn’t know she was coming.”
“You parents probably told her you would be here and wanted to see you.”
“Yeah, probably. I wished they didn’t to be honest. Whatever she says don’t take it personal, okay?”
“No problem,” he assured her with a casual yet confident grin.
The table was set for five people, confirming ______. Their aunt was staying for dinner and they hoped she didn’t make things too awkward. She came into the room as soon as she heard the pair, a big smile spreading across her face. She hurried to their side, embracing one at a time in a tight hug, almost taking the air out of the two of them. Just like their mother had done, she complimented Kuroo on his looks. He pretended to be shy, but they knew he was enjoying all the attention deep inside.
They helped to bring the food to the table, falling into casual conversation. ______ relaxed. Their aunt seemed to be on her best behavior. No imprudent comment had been made yet. They weren’t worried about what Kuroo would think. They worried on how awkward the night could be turned thanks to her.
They were in the middle of their food when their aunt cleared her throat as she wiped her mouth with a paper napkin. “For how long have you two been together?”
“Eleven months to be exact,” Kuroo answered.
“Wow, almost a whole year. That’s so sweet,” ______’s mother commented, giving the two a tender look.
“It is, right?” Kuroo answered with a slight grin. They exchanged glances with him briefly. ______ held back their giggles. Kuroo could never turned off his confident personality. They would never admit it out loud, but they adored that part of him. Admitting out loud would cause far more teasing from his part.
“You’re such a cute couple,” their aunt followed. “Had they showed you pictures of ______ before the scar? They used to be so beautiful back then.”
______ stopped chewing right then and there. It had taken them years to feel at ease with the scar across their cheek. It had been years of trying to cover it, failing, and having to accept it. Their parents stayed quite—everyone was trying to realize what to say next. “I need something to drink.” They stood up, quickly disappearing into the kitchen.
Kuroo cleared his throat and with a polite tone said, “No, actually no. I don’t there’s need to, to be honest.” ______ eyed him.
“I mean, they’re still as pretty as ever of course,” the aunt continued, a little bit ashamed of her comment. She wasn’t getting any sympathy, though.
“For sure, they’re a beauty,” Kuroo stated before standing up and following ______ into the kitchen, knowing well what they must be feeling. ______ was resting on the counter with their eyes on the floor. A shiny tear hung on their chin. Kuroo silently and swiftly approached them, swiping the tear off from their chin. “Are you okay?”
“I told you she was kind of careless,” they murmured, avoiding to meet his eyes.
“But she is wrong. I don’t think you were more beautiful than now.”
“I know that’s not true.”
“I say is subjective,” he offered.
They finally looked at him, a soft frown on their faces due to the confusion. “She thinks you’re not, but I think you are.” He received no answer, and he concluded it was best to take it more seriously. He hugged them with the intentions of keeping them under his hold as much as they needed it. ______ hugged him back. That was what they needed. Unconditional love.
Five minutes later, they removed themselves, drying their face. “Is it too obvious that I cried?”
“No, don’t worry.” And he wasn’t lying. ______ had spilled a couple tears. They hadn’t been enough to swell her eyes.
They went back to the table together. Kuroo pulled the chair out for them, and then took his seat. The dining room was in complete silence. Their parents stared worried. _____ gave them a faint smile. It didn’t mean everything was okay. It meant they were handling it.
“So, if you have embarrassing pictures of ______ as a baby, I’m up for that,” Kuroo said out of the blue, surprising everyone. ______’s father laughed first. Kuroo slipped a hand under the table and rested it on their leg, giving it a soft squeeze.
“We have many,” their mother assured him.
“I’m impatient,” Kuroo declared.
The tension slowly dissipated. ______ looked at their aunt. She had her eyes on her food, and they could see the shame in their factions. ‘Good’ they thought. It was nothing against her, but she shouldn’t be meddling in their business like that. It was their scar, their story, and their decision. They had showed many pictures to Kuroo prior to the accident, but it had been in a moment of intimacy where they had felt comfortable to talk about it. And in an incredibly gracious way, Kuroo had shut the situation down. ______ smiled to themselves and continued eating as their parents now asked Kuroo about him a little bit more. They would make sure to thanked him properly later.
Satori Tendou
Meeting new people was always exciting for him. He was expectant to see what type of person they were or how fast he could read them. It was interesting to him. Meeting his new partner’s friends was turning out to be an interesting situation, to say the least.
______ stayed on the edge of their seat, trying to find when they could add something to the conversation. The other four people—the “friends”—wouldn’t let them say a word. They talked all over ______, and ignored when they managed to complete a sentence. It was clear they were dismissing them. Tendou had his eyebrows raised, wondering why ______ would consider these people their friends. He hadn’t tried to join. He was seeing enough for him to grow highly uninterested on the group of people. It meant something to ______ for him to be there, and that was the only reason why he was staying there.
“It is Tendou right?” one of the boys asked. He had a buzzcut and moved his tongue inside his mouth like he had crumbs stuck on his gums.
“Hmm-mmm,” he shortly responded, lazily tapping his fingers on the table.
“How did you meet ______?” a girl asked. They made it sound as if it was unbelievable for ______ to actually meet someone. He didn’t like the tone of their words. It had a mean undertone. He knew because he had used too to discourage someone on the court. He despised the idea they were trying to bring down ______ right in front of him—their boyfriend.
“At a party. He is my cousin’s friend,” they explained.
“Make sense. One day you suddenly had a boyfriend. It was supper random,” another boy pointed out. He had shaggy hair, and it wasn’t the type of messy that could be cute. The guy needed a haircut immediately.
“I guess,” they said, sounding a little bit more nervous. Tendou wasn’t participating at all in the conversation, and he was aware he was being rather quiet. He wasn’t comfortable with those people. It reminded him of elementary school. The vibe was similar, keeping him on the edge, expecting an insult at any moment.
And it did.
“Do you want to see ______ before they had the scar on their cheek?,” the same girl asked with eagerness, like she was ready to play her favorite game. Tendou felt them tensing under the arm he had kept across their shoulders. He could physically feel their emotional stress growing rapidly inside them.
“Not really,” he answered stoically. He squeezed their shoulder, and stood up from his sit at the pretty cafeteria they had met. “Come on, ______, we’re going to be late to have dinner with my parents.”
______ nodded, and got up quickly. They weren’t having dinner with anyone. It had been the first excuse that came to mind to leave the place. He wasn’t staying, and he wouldn’t leave ______ there. He had to get the two of them out of there before something bad happened—and he meant snapping at any of them, and god knew he could be vicious if tempted.
Tendou intertwined his hand with theirs, walking out of the establishment without looking back. They went down the street for a couple minutes before he heard the tiniest of weeps. He stopped on his tracks, and with one swift motion pulled them into his chest, wrapping his arms around. People moved around them as ______ cried under his shelter. Tendou felt his heart wrench. It had not only been humiliating for them, but that girl had touched the most sensitive nerve in them.
______ raised their head once they were able to stop crying. It had felt like a nightmare. Their scar wasn’t a joke or a toy they could use to entertain themselves. Tendou’s long fingers were soon on their face, rubbing their cheeks with the kindness they needed in that moment. “Are you better?”
They give a little tired grin. They loved Tendou didn’t expect them to simply be okay, but instead they hoped for them to feel better whenever those type of situations happened. “Just a little,” they admitted.
“I hate to say this but your friends suck.”
The little grin turned into a sad chuckle. “I know. But back in middle school they were the only people who wanted to hang around with me, so… I guess it was better than to be alone.”
“You don’t have to anymore, you know?” he asked rhetorically. “The older we get, the less it matters,” he finished as his finger went through the scar on their face. It was true. The older the people, the less noisy people were. There were adults were absolute assholes who had no sense of decency and would make the same tactless questions and comments, but they were just a few compared to a crowd of fourteen-year olds.
“Yeah, but it’s still hard.”
“It is, but we’re going to make it easier. I promise you.” He bent down giving them a quick peck on the forehead. “If you ask me, you’re the cutest thing around.”
They snorted, trying to hide the blush on their face. Tendou understood them from a deep part of himself—a unique type of understanding. ______ hugged him, nuzzling their nose on the crook of his neck. It was the place where they felt the most accepted… in his arms.

@astroboy-lele: a best friends to lovers au with chenle, no doubt about it. furou is one of my closest friends on here and our conversations are almost always chaotic, but when they aren’t, they’re full of love and appreciation for each other because she deserves it! major chenle vibes, they’re both so adorable too. her humor is great, all the jokes we have together make me absolutely wheeze oml. i really don’t know what i would do without her kindness sometimes, when i want to give up at something she’s so quick to reassure me. furou, thanks for encouraging me and for always being such a strong source of happiness🥺also, i hope you never doubt your amazing talents because they are a gift to this world!! but enough with the super deep stuff because this is way too long, so the plot would go something like this: you met one day when you heard him practicing piano in the band room by himself. you’re both shy at first so it’s a blush fest when he notices you’ve been listening to him play the whole time, but one not-so-awkward introduction later, you realize you have some things in common and that you share a class or two. you come over for study sessions & work together on partner projects, conversations lighthearted and full of endless laughter. in addition, you also show your support for each other’s talents and dreams, with him attending your dance performances and clapping louder than anyone else in the audience, and you attending his recitals, heart swelling with more pride and appreciation than you thought was possible. any time that you spend together usually ends with you asleep on his chest while he taps away at a piano app on his phone because he knows it calms you down, humming softly by your ear. as the sunlight streams in from his window and illuminates your face, he takes one look at you and decides that you’ve become so much more than just a best friend to him after everything you’ve been through together in such a short time. but will he ever find the courage to tell you how he feels?
@danishmiilk: i can’t really explain it, but i just picture late nights walking through city streets in a strangers to lovers au with doyoung by your side. xing-yi has a lot of love to give to others and so much to offer the writing community, and also she’s somewhat of a social butterfly, at least i think so! it makes me so happy seeing her interact with her moots and she always looks out for others! i also imagine that she has a cute bunny smile but also maybe not HAHA anyway i just love xing-yi a lot. here’s the fic: doyoung, the one who always seems to know everything, is forced to ask for directions in a foreign city. shamefully standing on the sidewalk, he stops you mid-step with a small hand gesture, because even though he doesn’t know you at all, you look like you probably won’t walk away or dismiss his questions with a shrug. being as friendly and willing to help as you are, you oblige. with an embarrassed scratch to the back of his neck, he admits that he might forget the sequence of lefts and rights you had given him, but you’re unfazed and simply offer to walk him there yourself, since it isn’t terribly far anyway. doyoung, lightly flustered since he’s not quite sure how to thank you for your trouble and feeling bad for taking the time out of your day, fumbles with asking for your number. he’s cute, you think, and before you part you insist on showing him around the city some more before he leaves, glancing at the sheepish but smitten man over your shoulder with a smile as you turn to walk back home, leaving him eager to see you again.
@daybreakx: my first thought was a hogwarts au with kun! ale’s talent in writing is a beautiful hidden gem on this site, and she truly deserves so much more recognition for it. i’m so grateful for how kind she is and i want the best for her and her work always! also, the love letter network that she created to help more writers receive love, feedback, and appreciation from readers is such a generous and selfless thing to do, it shows that she has such a caring heart! all of these qualities make me think of kun, and i chose a hogwarts au because i think she just writes those especially well and hers are some of my favorites! so for the fic: the fates are definitely not on your side today, because all the friends you made on the train ride to the castle have been sorted into different houses than you, not to mention you have almost no classes with any of them. at the same time, you seem to have every class with this one boy, kun. he’s in hufflepuff, the same house as you, and because you’re always paired up as seatmates, you find yourself warming up to him throughout the year. conversations become easier during projects, you start to have study sessions in the common room when exams come around, and as first-year students, you both love experiencing all the new and exciting things that the school and the magical world has to offer together. now, you couldn’t be happier that you were sorted into hufflepuff, because otherwise you might not have become friends (and maybe more..) with him!
@donkey-hyuck: vy is way more hilarious and talented than others give her credit for, and not to mention the way everyone adores her for always being so loving and showering them with her affection and support😭i’m thinking of a sci-fi au with jeno! she’s just so hardworking with her writing and on her collabs, & i think she’s strong-willed because she always pursues her goals no matter what! she has such a bright personality and also, like jeno’s her smile is just the CUTEST thing ever!!!! i will never be over it istg🥺fic: in a world full of new technology and controlled by a government unwilling to remember the past and all its traditions, a band of rebels come together and take it upon themselves to go back in time and discover what their reality used to look like long ago. one fateful day on their quest to uncover the mystery of the past, they stumble upon you, unaware of their cause but eager to join them. you take after one of the boys particularly well, lee jeno. though he’s assigned the role of warrior, he’s well-rounded and could easily succeed at any task the group may need him to complete. extremely passionate about the group’s goal, the two of you share a dedication that only brings you closer with time, working together and just being complete badasses. when you aren’t navigating through streets full of neon signs and angular buildings, you fall into the rhythm of a relationship. though you may not know much about each other’s pasts yet, one thing’s for sure: you can definitely see a future with one another.
@fairvtale: a soulmate au with jisung! i mean, keia is just the peak of cuteness, love, positivity, and everything sweet and nice!! how could i not ship her with the adorable park jisung himself😭she’s so full of compassion for everyone she meets and is so loved and appreciated for not only her great personality but also her talents! now, in this soulmate universe, you and your soulmate share the same preferences! so when you hear someone standing in line ahead of you at the ice cream shop order your favorite flavor, your heart skips a beat. of course, it’s not the first time it’s happened, but something feels different today. when you see who the voice belongs to, you just know that the tall but also shy boy is meant for you, and being brave, you approach the small two-person table he sits down at, making small talk until you both realize that you have a little too much in common for it to be a coincidence... :D <3
@ferie-anon: i’m picturing a bookstore au with shopkeeper!taeil, you just give off really insightful but also curious vibes!! both you and taeil make me think of wisdom(especially with your astrology knowledge! it amazes me so much omg), and also, you both have hearts of gold🥺💝fic: a new book shop opens up in your town, and eager to find a new story to dive into, you enter one day to find taeil behind the counter with a smile on his face that’s so bright you don’t even notice his smaller but adorable stature. he guides you, his first customer, through the rows of books to find one that interests you. since the store has multiple copies, he finds himself reading the same ones that you buy not only to enjoy them for himself, but also because it allows him to discuss them with you when you come in the next time, eager to hear each other’s thoughts and knowledge. your equal love for learning and discovery makes you a perfect match!
@flirtyhyuck: kitty is a literal ray of sunshine into my life, so who else would i ship him with than haechan? (i know i once said jaemin but shh) he is so encouraging, always makes me smile and my heart burst, i’m really thankful for all the times he checks in on me and i just feel very loved talking to him. he deserves all the love in the world, really and truly. for the au, maybe a strangers to lovers with barista!haechan! your favorite cafe has a new worker that’s attracting all the attention lately. haechan makes the funniest jokes and comments at the register, and everyone asks for him to ring them up just so they can laugh at his sarcasm. but he’s also so attentive to each and every customer, making sure the order is nothing short of perfect and exactly what they wanted. you always sit at one of the bar-style seats as you enjoy your favorite drink, legs dangling from the elevated chair as you watch him bustle about behind the cashier station and among the machines & supplies. one day it’s closing time, he’s cleaning up for the night but he lets you stay a few more minutes, something he wouldn’t do for anyone else. leaning over the marble countertop that your cup rests on, he swipes a fingertip through the whipped cream on top of your drink and lightly taps your nose with it, making you giggle endearingly at the ticklish sensation and giving him the courage to ask you out. with a smile, you agree. ‘sure, but let’s go somewhere other than a coffee shop, please.’
@fruityutas: emily (pt 1 HAHA) seriously cracks me up SO MUCH, not to mention she has one the best laughs i’ve heard and it’s super lovable haha. i don’t know what else to call it but i’d give her a wedding date(?) au with hendery! even when i didn’t know her very well and we had just recently met she was super friendly and inviting. for some reason i feel like hendery would also play the sims lol, anyway! onto the fic: when given the opportunity to bring a ‘plus one’ to a friend’s special day, your other friend hendery swoops in with an arm around your shoulder as you reread the invitation out loud, wondering who to ask. not so subtly, he offers to accompany you, and not wanting to be the only one without a guest, you agree to his proposal (no pun intended). dressed in your best formalwear and with stiffly linked arms, you navigate through the ceremony, only loosening up a bit at the reception. hendery is determined to make you smile with his exaggerated dancing, twirling you and making you more than glad you brought him along. you do get a few comments from other guests on what a ‘cute couple’ you are, leading you both to exchange glances before bursting into laughter. it starts to become less and less implausible, though. you catch hendery’s eye right after you find the bride’s flower bouquet in your grasp, suddenly realizing there could be more between you than you realized...
@jenojam: i was totally not influenced by your preschool series at all haha, but a preschool au with teacher!kun comes to mind! vina is always there for me, she’s so caring and attentive to everything i tell her!! i get mom friend vibes i guess, she’s just so sweet and i feel super loved and cared for whenever we interact, i’m really grateful for her endless support🥺for the fic, kun is a coworker of yours at the preschool you teach at. you both have such a strong passion for teaching and it helps you bond, leading to many days spent side-by-side, fondly watching your students play with their friends at recess or do activities and play games in class. even the small children in your class can see how much wider you smile when you’re in the same room. with the sweetest and most innocent of intentions, shenanigans ensue of your well-meaning but slightly mischievous students trying to get kun to confess to you, whether it be by writing a message in sidewalk chalk or making a bracelet out of craft beads for him to give you.
@jisungsmochi: hm, i’m thinking...a high school/college au with theatre kid!xiaojun🥺i ship nat with xiaojun because she’s just the sweetest, she has a hidden chaotic side (imo lol) and just a great sense of humor as well! she’s so fun to talk to and you can’t help but love her🥺picture this: you’re both in english class together, and one day there’s a mix-up. he accidentally grabs your essay and you end up with his script for the school musical. you have no choice but to go to one of his rehearsals to swap them back, but as you’re standing in the doorway, you’re captivated by his performance! little do you know, he’s absolutely in awe of your writing, even in a simple literature paper. your admiration for each other’s talents leads to you sitting in the back of the theater doing your homework every day after school, listening to his voice ring out across the large room, and he gets a confidence boost knowing you’re there watching him act, dance, and sing. he always winks at you from onstage and you’re beyond starstruck every time, your english paper quickly becoming forgotten as soon as he meets your eyes with a charming smile.
@lebrookestore: well, a royal au with prince!/childhood friend!taeyong comes to mind. brooke is a lot like taeyong because she’s so considerate and generous but also can be very professional and calm when she needs to be! (i think i told you already but you have this ~duality~ in a way, like ty haha.) so..you both grow up in the castle, scampering away from the staff in the large hallways and just enjoying the excitement of life. one day when you’re a bit older, you come across a stranger in the forest as you’re exploring. they turn out to be from the next kingdom over, but something about them is familiar: you’re sure you’ve seen a ‘wanted’ poster with their face plastered on it. you manage to warn taeyong in his ear before you hear the stranger’s footsteps speed up, and you both start sprinting as fast as possible. quickly working together since you know each other so well, you devise a plan to get them caught in a tangle of vines you remember seeing on your way into the forest, so you can bring back reinforcements to arrest the dangerous criminal. it works, but instead of turning to give taeyong a high five in celebration, he’s already in front of you and thanking you for your quick thinking with a hug, suddenly realizing that how much he loves you after seeing your brave and clever side emerge, just two of the many traits that made you win his heart.
@navyhyuck: vee’s name has basically become synonymous with happiness at this point, hearing from her in my inbox/messages or seeing a post/work of hers on my dash is so comforting and makes me smile more than she knows. since she’s the epitome of sweetness, i’ll say a bakery au with jaemin! i really appreciate knowing someone like her, and the encouragement she gives me is so heartwarming🥺the way she sends asks in the mornings makes me feel so ridiculously loved and at ease, her presence in itself is a gift to this site. tumblr really doesn’t deserve her!! i’m so happy that we’ve grown close and i don’t know what i would do without her and her kindness in my life. fic: you sign up for a baking class at a quaint, local pastry shop to learn how to make desserts and treats, since baking was a hobby you had enjoyed as a child with your family and now you hoped to learn how to do it on your own. little did you know that your instructor would be even more saccharine than the sugary treats you were making. his flirtatious nature leads to many mishaps in the kitchen as you get distracted while trying to follow along with the simple directions, instead making a mess of the icing and sprinkles and nearly confusing the measurements of ingredients. he finds it adorable, though, and towards the end of the session he sneaks a bite of one of the french macarons you put together, a bright smile lighting up his features as he compliments you on it. he teases you by reminding you to pay more attention next time, and with a comeback so quick that even you’re surprised, you take him up on that offer, implying that you’d be back for another class soon. “good. we’re making crème brûlée next week,” he informs with a wink as you both part ways. boy, was he sweeter than sugar.
@orange-nimon-cross: yunha deserves someone who knows the true her and has always been by her side, so i’d say a neighbor/boy next door au with winwin/sicheng. her personality is unique and complex like sicheng’s, and like him i also admire her for lots of reasons, such as her honesty and the pride she takes in writing as well as her passion for it in general. she’s very sweet, so supportive whenever i need it, and deserves so much more recognition for her beautiful work!!💕fic: your neighborhood holds a classic and oh-so-cliche summer block party every year, the smell of smoke and sounds of laughter moving through the air and into your open window. when a bad day gets you down and you hesitate to join in the festivities, sicheng is the only one who can get through to you, not forcing you to talk about anything and just sitting beside you on your bed in silence, which seems to be the most comforting thing anyone can do at the moment. when you tell him you’re ready(which he asks you to confirm many times, because that’s just how much he cares about you and wants you to be fully comfortable and okay), he takes your hand and leads you outside and onto the burning asphalt of the street with other friends and families, the blissful feeling of summer putting you at ease and the gentle evening breeze carrying away your cares with it. and like a springtime flower, although one season late, your relationship begins to blossom into one full of even more love and consideration for each other than it was before.
@radiorenjun: a doctor au with renjun! angie is slightly (okay, very) chaotic but also very lovable!! i don’t know if she’s an aries but she gives off serious aries energy. she’s confident and optimistic and really approachable! i’m so happy she reached out to me one day and we became friends from there🥺in the fic, renjun is a resident at your hospital studying under you and learning the ropes of being a doctor. when you first met each other, you actually mistook him for a coworker with how professional he seemed, but the confusion made a small, adorable blush rise to his cheeks. shy and timid at first, he takes notes and helps you do your job without complaint. when you offer part of your routine to him, he gratefully accepts and does the task perfectly, growing more comfortable in his position and relationship with you as he receives more opportunities to show his skill. sharing stories and experiences from medical school on your lunch breaks and smiling when you finish each other’s sentences about patients and their prescribed care, you realize that you’ve fallen for the soon-to-be doctor, and that no stethoscope could possibly measure the beating of your heart around him.
@rouiyan: so you know how you said you were excited for my wip that’s a strangers to lovers au with animal shelter worker!jeno? that’s what this is(loosely anyway)!!🥺ree reminds me of jeno in the fact that she’s such a sweetheart in every interaction with anyone, it feels like you’ve been her friend for ages! and then you look at her writing that’s just so damn good and sophisticated and i’m always so amazed with everything she puts out, just like how jeno’s talents amaze me as well! now for the fic: your beloved dog runs off in the park, but luckily a boy walking nearby lunges for the leash as it drags behind the animal. you thank him repeatedly, and he explains that the little puppy might have tried to leave your grasp only because she wants to make a new friend. the park is full of other dogs, after all. he mentions that he works at the shelter nearby and suggests that maybe you should adopt a second one to keep her company. not seeing any reason why you shouldn’t, you meet him the next day and spend time together picking out a new puppy. many more days are spent giving the fluffy little animals lots of pets and scratches behind the ears, and playing with them. you’re not sure what’s cuter: the dogs, or jeno’s eye smile.
@ru-lin: (the fic was kinda inspired by what you told me about your job in our messages the other day hehe) i’d say a christmas au with mark! ruth is so considerate and a pleasure to talk to, we actually have a lot in common! she’s very warm and caring and always looking out for others. i can tell she really values her friends and they’re so lucky to have her, she’s just so sweet all around! talking to her makes my day a lot brighter whenever we interact🥺fic: during the holidays you always work at a christmas market, helping customers pick out pretty much anything they could ever want that’s associated with the chilly month and all its festivities. when a shy boy that’s adorably awkward and clumsy stumbles into the shopping area, you bite back a small laugh at his endearing hesitation to ask for assistance. speaking up first, you ask if there’s anything he needs and he explains that he’s looking for the perfect tree. with a knowing smile, you lead him down the rows of tall pines and firs and any kind of christmas tree you could possibly imagine. when his eyes land on one that he likes, his eyes light up with excitement, and you help him load it into his car. as mark is halfway home he curses, realizing he forgot to pick up a wreath as well. he knows it’ll earn him a playful scolding from his group of friends, but if it means another chance to return to the market and see you, it’s worth it.
@rvse-hvvck: i feel like i ship so many people with jaemin but it’s just because they’re so especially full of kindness and love for others, and ana is no exception! i’d give her a matchmaker au with jaemin! ana is so incredibly selfless and her heart is so compassionate, it’s crazy. i really look up to her in a lot of ways! the first impression she made on me was already a great one because i saw so many writers receiving her beautiful love letters, and from that moment alone i could already tell how much she strives to be kind and generous in everything she says and does. i hope she knows how much everyone truly adores her and is grateful for her, because she really makes the world a better and brighter place. (if you’ve seen the movie clueless i guess this fic is sorta similar!) so, you’re the resident expert on relationships among your school community, always trying to pair up people with similar interests or that have a lot of chemistry together. it brings you joy because you love seeing your friends laughing and smiling with their partners, but you feel a twinge of sadness at the same time. when jaemin, the boy you’ve liked for a while, comes to you for advice, you push down your feelings for him and send him on dates with anyone you can think of. the whole time though, he’s only had his eyes on you. he has always admired your altruism and your dedication to making others happy. it hurts him to see that you’re not even giving yourself a chance, so with a simple but heartfelt confession in the school parking lot at sunset, he helps you realize that you deserve a love like you’ve helped so many others find.
@sly-merlin: talking to simmi is always something very healing (like yuta’s smile hehe) so i’d definitely give her a secret agent/spy au with partner!yuta! she is so friendly to anyone and everyone, she gives off this warm and loving vibe like that of an old friend🥺she’s also extremely dedicated to her studies and works so hard. everyone adores her, and seeing her talk about things that make her happy is just the cutest thing ever! simmi, you truly have everyone’s heart!! now for the fic: you and yuta are both spies, partnered up for a very important and serious mission. only problem is, he’s never been the serious type. he teases you for being so uptight, but you genuinely don’t know any other way to approach a mission. along the way though, he manages to teach you how to have a little fun with your job, even if it means lots of close calls and sticky situations that force you both to begrudgingly (well, you more so than him) pretend you’re an oblivious couple in order to escape suspicious eyes. eventually, you find yourself becoming less and less unwilling to throw a casual arm around his shoulder, even when you aren’t at risk of being caught on your mission. maybe he isn’t so bad after all... :)
@suhpressed: a strangers to lovers au with theatre usher!johnny. so you know how johnny’s like an older brother to mark? i get major comforting and warm big sis vibes from elaida!! i would ship her with johnny because they’re both such selfless and caring people! she’s not afraid to speak her mind, and she always looks out for others with kindness and encouragement! as for the fic: you’re finally attending a broadway show you’ve been dying to see since, well, forever. this really cute usher helps you find your seat, but in a rare stroke of clumsiness, he bumps someone with a glass of wine in their hand that ends up staining your blouse a dark red. like the gentleman johnny (you can see it on his nametag) is, he promises to buy you a new one, and writes his phone number on the show’s program. you enjoy the musical, but the digits scribbled down next to the performers’ names prove to be more distracting than you anticipated. throughout the show you’re really jittery, excited to get back home so you can text him. in addition to replacing your ruined shirt, he also invites you out for coffee over the phone, you agree, and you both hit it off. the rest is history! the way that you met becomes a favorite story among your friends and families, & they never miss a chance to tease you two about spilling drinks.
@tyongxnct: elida, where do i begin🥺right away, i think of an idol au with taeyong. she is just so caring and supportive, she likes or comments on my posts and can make me smile with just a few words!! i remember one time that she said she was lucky to have me as a moot and it really warmed my heart, i’m so so lucky to have her too! i can tell she’s passionate about writing and that it brings her so much joy! i wish her only the best in life always <3 in the fic: during a tour, nct 127 stops in your country for a few nights of concerts, and in the midst of the excitement on the way back from the venue, taeyong gets separated from the rest. in an unfamiliar environment, he begins to panic as he remembers that he left his phone on the tour bus and has no way to contact his manager or fellow members. you, while familiar with and respectful of the group but not an avid follower of their music, catch sight of the lost and more than frazzled man as he frantically paces along the sidewalk, trying to recall his surroundings when he exited the bus hours ago. had it not been for your observant gaze, you may have missed the small group logo on his white shirt, letting you know who he was. determined to ease his obvious nerves by helping him find his way back, you lend a hand by approaching him and asking what he remembers. despite only being given a few details, you know the area he describes, quickly leading him there and reuniting him with the rest of the group. more than grateful, he offers you a ticket to the last show there, and hopes that it won’t be the last time he sees you.
@yo-ddream: a childhood best friends to lovers au with jungwoo! emily (pt 2/granny okay sorry i’m done) also feels like somewhat of an older sister to me, she gives great advice and always seems to have a story to tell from her working adventures lol. she’s very witty and extremely kind!! i guess i get jungwoo vibes because at first she seems quiet, but once you get to know her and she opens up a bit you see her fun personality and humor shine through when you talk to her :) she’s also honest about what she thinks and doesn’t sugarcoat it, something that’s very much needed in a person! okay, onto the fic: you and jungwoo grew up in the same neighborhood, going to the same school, getting your first part-time jobs at same store a few blocks down from your street. your lives have been intertwined from the start, but when a family matter pops up, it threatens his place by your side in almost everything you do and puts your friendship and undisclosed feelings for each other at risk. both working up the courage to confess as time ticks down and it gets closer to the day he’s meant to move away, you spend every moment with each other enjoying life’s little moments, the simple things like watching the sunset on a park bench or taking a walk down the sidewalk of the town shopping center. in an extremely convenient stroke of luck, he gets word that things have been sorted out, and the move is off. in both of your delight at the news, you feel like nothing can stop you. you blurt out the same three words at the same time before launching your arms around one another. if it’s you and jungwoo against the world, so be it, because not even the universe had the heart to separate the bond between you.
@zzzzzcakes: zel🥺she’s always been super supportive of me and my work, i’m happy she left feedback on a fic of mine because i might not have reached out to express my gratitude for her words and gotten to know her otherwise! she’s very kind and positive, and seeing her posts and reblogs make me laugh all the time :D i’d say a grocery store au with sungchan. (hear me out i know you must be going ‘huh?’ but trust me on this one! in that recent post you made you said something about shopping carts, and it made me think...see where this is going? haha ANYWAY!) so sungchan is the newest employee at the supermarket where you work. he’s the go-to person to call when someone can’t reach an item on one of the highest shelves, earning bewildered stares from customers and coworkers alike. he always has a joke up his sleeve or a clever remark to make about the many challenges of working in retail. you take a liking to him for how down-to-earth he is and despite all the occasional sarcasm coming from him when you’re both in the break room, he’s very helpful whenever he’s needed. he also admires how focused you are on the job, ringing up endless items and bagging groceries until your hands hurt. whenever he strides down an aisle near the register you’re working at that day, he doesn’t hesitate to send a wave and an endearing grin your way. it’s the moments like that with him that get you through your shift and keep you going. it’s no surprise when you reveal to the rest of the staff that you’re dating. of course, the perks of being employees mean that you can spend many late nights racing each other in shopping carts at the back of the store near closing time and other mischievous activities of the sort, laughing when your manager scolds you over the loudspeaker system without a care in the world.
——ships——
@badwithten: zoe is someone full of both humor and heart, a combination that immediately reminds me of lucas, so i’d 100% ship her with him! she’s given me really good advice and encouragement to stay true to myself, something i can also see lucas doing, and i’m very grateful for her wise words :) and like i said, her heart is full of love and she’s so kind to everyone!
@bucchinct: i’m not sure if we’ve ever interacted, but i always see your posts on my dash and you reblog so many artistic and pretty things/pictures, which makes me think of jaemin and his hobby of photography! so i would ship you with him ^_^
@du0tine: i’d ship solange with ten, for a number of reasons! one, the fact that she mountain climbs for a living and is so dedicated to/passionate about it is something extremely admirable and amazing, so she comes across as very brave and adventurous! also, she’s not afraid to tell others her opinions and that honesty is really refreshing to see! and her blog themes are super artistic which reminds me of ten as well. she just seems like a great person in general and i hope to get to know her more!
@ethaeriyeol: i haven’t really talked to bea much, but i know she is good friends with a few of my other moots so i think that says something about the kind of person she is! i would ship her with jaehyun, she seems really professional (and lowkey intimidating but you didn’t hear it from me) but also very sweet and welcoming and i imagine they both have the cutest smiles, with or without dimples, hehe.
@euphoricdreamies: i’d ship maddy with chenle! she has such a great sense of humor and it’s so much fun to read about her oc’s, i love keeping up with the plots! i’ve followed her for a while but we just recently started talking, she’s very friendly🥺maddy’s just been nothing but nice to me, and i feel like she has a sarcastic and witty side. also, she deserves so much more recognition for her talent and i think everyone deserves to read her amazing work!
@felixn-recs: it’s been a while since i talked to you, but i’m really thankful that you left some of the first feedback i ever received on my writing! i know for a fact that authors really appreciate you and the kind feedback/support that you show their works. this eagerness to show writers your encouragement and praise makes me think of mark for sure, so i would ship you with him!
@fullsuhnny: angelina seems like the type to be somewhat reserved, but still very generous and selfless towards others, reminding me of kun! when she interacts with people she’s humble and sweet, and i enjoy seeing her reblogs pop up on my dash. i think she’s a wonderful friend to everyone and i hope to become closer with her in the future! also, her blog theme is so cool and aesthetic hehe :D
@gowonhatesyou: renjun all the way, krystal always makes me and others laugh so much with her humor and her entertaining personality. but at the same time, while she can be chaotic and sarcastic, she’s also extremely loving and sociable. i can tell she cares a lot about those around her and wants only the best for them! i really value her friendship🥺
@heartyyjeno: i’d ship alesha with jaemin, she’s so much like him to me. first of all, because she would do anything to make her friends smile or brighten their day! she has a warm personality that makes others feel very loved. she’s also very determined and perseverant, because when things get tough she doesn’t give up and continues to pursue her dreams and do what she loves, even when it may be difficult. i’m positive that everyone she knows appreciates having her and her endless kindness in their life! <3
@injunified: nathalie is really sweet and generous, and i’m really happy that she’s started posting more of her works recently, they definitely deserve all the recognition that they’re getting and more!! i don’t know her super well but she’s a great friend to have, so I’d ship her with winwin/sicheng! i hope she can continue writing because she definitely has a lot of talent for it🥺
@jaeminscoffee: lyra is very warm, friendly, and she was eager to get to know me when we first met, so i would ship her with johnny! i really enjoy talking to her, and she’s also very down-to-earth! she never hesitates to show her appreciation for her friends and followers, and i really look up to her for it🥺
@lovelygalaxy333: lilly is so so lovable and sweet, i would definitely ship her with shotaro! my heart literally threatens to explode whenever i talk to her, and she reblogs the cutest, kindest things! like shotaro, i just wanna protect her because she’s such a special soul and also very positive! even if she just sends a simple ‘hello’ in my inbox from time to time, it puts the biggest smile on my face and i’m so grateful for her!
@meraki-mark: li is very humble and friendly, so i would ship her with xiaojun! she also seems somewhat quiet and calm to me, i was almost intimidated when we first interacted haha. something i admire about her is that i believe she’s the kind of person to truly be dedicated to writing what she wants and not just for the sake of notes! that kind of commitment is really nice to see :)
@minyusa: whenever i see miku on my dash, she always seems to be showing her support for a work or conversing with a friend. she’s there to lend some encouragement and sweet words to those that need it! her good-nature and pure thoughtfulness reminds me of jeno. she’s so nice to talk to and deserves love, no questions asked! you’re a very genuine and warm-hearted person, so i’d ship you with him~ (^ν^)
@moonlightjeno: we don’t know each other very well but just from looking at luna’s writing, i think the types of fics and aus she writes are very diverse and unique! her well-rounded work makes me think of haechan, so i’ll ship her with him! i believe we have some of the same moots so she seems very kind and social as well!
@neonun-au: okay, maybe it’s because ‘multitudes’ has been on my mind ever since i read it but my first thought was to ship mads with taeil! her writing is so elegant and beautiful, i’m so glad her work gets all the recognition that it does! as silly as it sounds for me to say, even her sh*tposts seem sophisticated for some reason hahaha. she’s just so sweet, talented and always so gracious!
@peachjaem00: lou comes across as very laidback and charming, two things that remind me of yangyang! she’s a pleasure to interact with, and i feel like she has a lot of friends, i mean, who wouldn’t want someone like her in their life? she’s such a supportive and inviting person by nature, and i can tell she works hard and puts so much effort into her writing because it’s so good!!
@prettyjaems: i believe i said it once before so pardon the repetition, but whenever i interact with mona i feel loved and cared for like nobody’s business😭which immediately makes jaemin come to mind. she doesn’t hesitate to show kindness to anyone and everyone, but also has a quiet and focused side at times, and i think as a person, she has so many great qualities that balance out and make up her considerate personality! she’s also really motivated and organized with her writing, i hope to learn a thing or two from those work habits of hers :)
@rueyins: one fateful day when i was craving some good old interaction, rue reached out to me just to say hello and ask how i was doing, something that makes me think of taeyong! i really love how caring she is towards everyone she knows, and also her music taste is great, which also makes me think of taeyong, haha🥺the way she looks out for others is such a special quality to have, i’m so glad we’ve become friends!!
@vitamarkie: i would ship kay with mark! i see her interact with her moots a lot, and she just seems very loved all around by everyone that knows her! also, she writes the softest, prettiest, fluffiest stories, and for some reason i think of the fact that mark once said he wanted be an author when he grew up. her skills are seriously amazing and, just like i admire mark for his talent, i admire kay a lot for hers!
@whathamelon: hmm you have a good sense of humor and also seem very friendly because we have some of the same moots! you’re also not shy about showing appreciation to your favorite fics and authors, so i would ship you with johnny!
@yunwoo: i feel like anna is on the soft-spoken, quieter side but still very very sweet, so i would ship her with jisung! she’s really lovable and so comforting to talk to, even though we don’t know each other too well yet. just from her blog she seems so adorable and i want to hug her and talk to her more🥺also her aesthetic is the softest thing EVER i love it so much!!😭

Scars <Eskel Soulmate AU>
Request from AO3: "Could you so an Eskel/reader with a soulmate AU? Maybe where soulmates have the same scars. Pretty please?"
Sorry it took so long. This fic has been sitting finished for several months, but I couldn't decide if I liked it enough to post. I've never done a soulmate AU, so this was a fun challenge! Anyways, I hope you enjoy! :D
As always, requests are open
Her claws wracked the side of his face. He'd been trying to avoid this meeting, but fate seemed to always have it's way. He was a fool for invoking the law of surprise all those years ago, and an even bigger fool for running from fate.
Looking up at the young girl, he had nothing in his heart but hate. The way she glowered at him he had no doubts she returned his sentiments.
• •• • A cry escaped her as flesh tore. Her hands shot out to grab her cheek. Blood ran freely down her jaw covering her neck. Horrified at the sight of crimson she helplessly tried to staunch the blood flow. The mage in front of her had his back pressed against the wall. Nothing but horror filled his eyes. This was not how the negotiations with Kaedwen were supposed to go. By the look on his face he hadn't attacked her, or cursed her. He fled the room as the pain seared across her cheek.
At some point she recalled being taken to a nurse for treatment, who was only able to bandage the wound, and send the sorceress on her way.
None of the healers could speed up the process of healing. The wound seemed to be healing on its own time. When it finally did heal, she was left with several jagged scars that even ran down her lips. When she looked in the mirror she was horrified by what she saw.
She seeked out Yennefer of Vengerberg’s powers. If anyone could heal the scars it was her. Very few were close to equal with Yennefer’s abilities.
"I cannot fix this." Yennefer declared, her eyes filling with pity. "This is the mark of a soulmate...and nothing can change fate."
"You were so beautiful." Kiera Metz's voice came softly. Y/N could not fathom the pity filled look she received. Her reflection showed several claw mark's adorned her face. They were raised and red.
Beauty wasn't everything she tried to tell herself, but she knew finding a lover would be impossible. Even her so-called soulmate would want nothing to do with her.
Yennefer gripped her shoulder, "beauty isn't everything."
• •• • "What happened to her?" Geralt inquired, his cat eyes falling on the familiar scars that adorned her face.
"It's a sad story." Triss sighed. "She used to have a beautiful face." Triss began, "the kind of face that makes king's launch wars over."
"Prettier than Yen?"
Triss nodded, "she had a softness, a warmth that Yennefer lacked. It drove men absolutely mad." She mused. "One day during negotiations, her face just tore open. It was the damndest thing."
"When?" Geralt inquired, observing the (h/c).
Triss tapped her chin recounting the years, "it had to have been about 20 years ago...give or take a few years."
"Hmmm." Geralt said, catching the woman's (e/c) eyes. She offered him a soft smile from across the room. He gave her a nod, his eyes tracing the scars that lined her lip. They were uncanny to Eskel's.
"No mage or sorceress could heal her." Triss added. "Apparently soulmate scars work differently, it's a power we know little of."
"Soulmate scars? I thought that was an old wives tale." Geralt asked, startled.
"So did I, but the circumstances of how she acquired them...well there is no other explanation for it." She said with a shrug as she took a sip of wine. "I spoke with the mage that witnessed it. His account was hard to discredit."
"The amount of scars a Witcher acquires, well it's hard to put much stock in the idea." Geralt said, taking another drink of his ale.
Triss waved the woman over, "whatever man acquired those, it must have been hell for him from what Y/N described."
"Y/N, this is Geralt." Triss introduced, "he's taken an interest in your scars." She said leaving the two to get acquainted
Her hand immediately shot up to her face covering the scars. "Forgive me for prying," Geralt began, "I have a friend who has similar scars."
Y/N's eyebrows raised, "is he a Witcher too?"
Geralt nodded, "sounds like he got those scars around the time you did."
"That would explain the pain…" Y/N mumbled, sitting at the table. "I'm very sorry for your friend, I know how he feels." She began a small frown pulling at her face. "No matter how kind you are, people tend to avoid things they can't explain."
"Well, I have reason to believe he may be the answer to those scars."
She shook her head, "even so he wouldn't want to see me." (E/c) eyes flickered up at his feline gaze. "I know exactly how I look Geralt. Kings stopped requesting my presence as soon as they saw my face, the lodge will not send me out diplomatically in case another scar decides to show up." Her jaw was set, "I'm quite positive your Witcher friend would not care to see me."
Geralt nodded, "if you change your mind let me know."
• •• •
Winters were perfect for catching up with his brother in arms. Geralt had debated keeping the scarred woman's existence a secret, but ultimately he decided that it was Eskel who should decide.
He broke the news a few weeks into their stay. He'd made sure Vesemir was in the room. If anyone would have more knowledge on the subjects of soulmates it would be the old Witcher.
"I met a sorceress this past fall." Geralt began, soliciting a scoff from Vesemir.
"Did you bed her too?" The grey haired man asked. Soliciting a soft smile from Eskel as he turned the page of his book.
"No, but she had some interesting scars." Geralt commented.
Eskel's eyes shot up, his hand automatically scratching at the scars that lined his lips. "A sorceress who chose not to have them healed? That's unheard of. They tend to be a vain bunch." Vesemir said thoughtfully.
"They tried, but scars involving soulmates is another thing." Geralt peaked up at Eskel to gage his reaction. The Witcher had stiffened, listening intently.
"Soulmates," Vesemir mused. "That is a very rare phenomenon. I can't say I've ever heard of two soulmates actually finding each other."
"Hmm, I saw the scars with my own eyes. Three claw marks on the side of the jaw." Eskel dropped his book.
"Appeared out of nowhere about twenty years ago." Geralt added. "If I hadn't been mistaken by the pair of tits I would have thought it was Eskel."
Eskel's cleared his throat, "it's a coincidence."
"Maybe, but I don't think so."
"Perhaps it's fate forcing you to make things right?" Vesemir in his infinite wisdom had a point. Much to Eskel's dismay.
"If it's fate we'll run into each other." Eskel dismissed.
"Eskel, you can't outrun fate." Vesemir began, "look what happened to you last time."
Geralt sighed, "I didn't tell you this to feel trapped by fate. I thought you had a right to know, I also think you have a right to tell destiny to fuck off if you want."
Eskel seemed to relax a bit, "was she attractive?"
Geralt nodded, "scars and all. Triss says she was once prettier than Yen." He hesitated, "there is something else you should know…"
Eskel leaned forward curiosity getting the better of him.
"She doesn't think you'd wish to see her."
A frown pulled at the dark haired Witcher's lips. He knew all too well what it was like to carry those scars.
Eskel had once been considered a handsome man. He'd never had a hard time finding a lover, and people used to be friendlier. After he acquired the scars, brothels were the only place he could find pleasure, the contracts he took the people looked on him as if he were a feral beast.
"Go talk to her." Lambert's voice echoed through the hall.
"What have I told you about eavesdropping?" Vesemir asked, turning to the youngest Witcher.
"Ah, can it old man." Lambert said, waving him off. "You're always saying you want a lover. If she really is your soulmate, even she can't turn you down."
That was just like Lambert, to throw his opinion out there regardless if it was welcome or not. "I thought you opposed Geralt bringing visitors to Kaer Morhen. You really want me to bring someone too?"
"If it’ll get you laid, I’m willing to take one for the team."
Vesemir rubbed his temples, no one could get on his nerves like the younger Witcher. Bold and brash, Lambert had a tendency to speak without thinking things through. It seemed the mutations could not quell the passion for living that burned inside.
“You have time. Destiny can wait.” Geralt said downing the rest of his ale. “Think on it.” He said, patting Eskel’s shoulder before heading upstairs for the evening.
Vesemir and Lambert were quick to follow, leaving Eskel alone with his thoughts. He turned to the many shelves that lined the wall. The bookshelves had been moved years ago when the library had decayed enough that Vesemir didn't trust it to house his precious tomes. If anyone were to have a book on the subject of soulmates, it would be the old man.
The book was thin and covered in years of dust. Eskel brushed the cover off. The letters had worn off, but the faint engraving of the title could be seen, Love Potions, Relationships, and Soul Mates. Eskel flipped to the title page, how to tell if they're the one, potions to make them fall in love, and tips turning that crush into love.
A small chuckle escaped Eskel's lips. He wondered when the old Witcher had picked this up, and who he was trying to woo. The table of contents indicated the chapter on soulmates started on page 69.
"Soulmates were fated by the gods. The oldest known magic, but very little have studied it. Soulmates could be confirmed by matching scars. It has been speculated that when one soul receives the mark their kindred soul receives it as well.
It is unknown why the other soul experiences the same wound, and pain. Some scholars assume it is to bound the two souls in a mutual understanding.
Soulmate bonds used to be very common, but the emergence of alchemy, and sorcery has made the magic almost extinct.
Soulmate bonds typically occur during strange phenomenons such as blood moons, eclipses, solstices, etc.
There have been instances where soulmates have argued that they were fated to meet.”
Eskel flipped the page, but the next chapter was regarding a love potion. He took care placing the book back on the shelf.
He let his mind wander as he trudged up the stairs to his room. Having someone to hold on nights like this wouldn't be unwelcome.
The room was silent, the fire had turned to embers. He threw another log on coaxing it back to life with Igni. The only thing in the room that indicated someone lived in it were stacks of books, and his weapons laid on a long, narrow table.
He toed off his boots and sat on the edge of the low bed. He wanted to laugh at Geralt for suggesting such an idea. He wanted to tell Vesemir that destiny could go to hell. He wanted Lambert to realize that no one would ever want him, but most of all he wanted it to be true.
Of course he wanted someone to love him, but how the hell could he accept a love like that? If he couldn't love the scars on his face how could he expect someone else to? The questions raised in his mind, but Lambert's voice rang in the back of his mind if she is your soulmate, even she can't turn you down. Perhaps that was the ember that sparked hope in his heart.
• •• •
The lodge trusted her with an alchemy shop. It seemed even she couldn't fuck that up. The once brilliant negotiator was now grinding, mixing and drying herbs. The shop bell jingled indicating a customer. "I'll be with you in a moment."
"Take your time."
She dried her hands on her apron, as she turned to face the deep voice. Her eyes widened at the sight of him. The scars that lined his lips were identical to hers.
"I'm sorry. This is my fault." He began as her hand shot up to cover the scars.
"I told Geralt you wouldn't want to see me." She said turning away from the dark haired Witcher.
He was quick to reach out to her, "no you're beautiful...no beautiful isn't the right word..it's not enough to describe you." Eskel breathed taking in her soft (e/c) eyes. "A choice I made hurt you." Eskel's voice was thick with shame, "and you've had to live with that."
She took him in, and her fingers traced the scars that lined his face. "Perhaps it's not all bad."
Eskel's heart fluttered at the prospect. She had yet to turn him away, and he dared to let his heart hope.
"These scars led me to you."

Have you written this Halloween prompt yet? mortal enemies accidentally showing up in matching costumes every fucking year If not I hope you get inspired to!
@thxstral said: Can I request *accidental* matching halloween costumes? Like they're just so in sync even pre-Drift that they accidentally coordinate costumes
from halloween prompts here
& thank you twitter pals for coming up w matching costumes for me heehee
-----------------------
“I’m not going to apologize,” Newt declares.
“I never asked you to,” Hermann says.
“It just seemed like you were implying it,” Newt says. “Implying I should apologize, I mean. You were making that face. The one you always do when I fuck something up in the lab, and you want me to feel bad, so you just kind of--” He waves his hand at Hermann, who scowls like he just ate a whole lemon. “That’s the one.”
“I wasn’t making any face,” Hermann says.
“Yes you were,” Newt says.
“This is just how I look.”
Technically this is true--Hermann seems to be scowling and frowning and glaring at Newt, like, eighty percent of the time--but this time, it’s with an underlying motive. “It’s a face and you know it,” Newt says. “Anyway--my point is that I’m not going to apologize because I’m not sorry, so you can forget about it. This one is just as much on you, dude.”
It’s an embarrassing situation all around, frankly. It would be one thing for Newt and Hermann to accidentally match their costumes for the annual Shatterdome Halloween party once; it was another thing to do it twice; it was a whole other monster--a legitimately terrifying one--to do it for three fucking years in a row. At this point, it exceeds accident. It attracts attention. It seems deliberate. “Everyone probably things we planned it,” Newt says with disgust. He shakes his head. “Ugh. Like I’d ever coordinate costumes with someone as lame as you. Not in a million years.”
“We’re coordinating now,” Hermann reminds him. “I’m not sure your point stands.”
“Yeah, but mine is...” Newt searches for the right descriptor. “Better, though. It’s just better. It should be obvious we’re separate. And I meant deliberately--you know that.”
Their pocket of antisocial solitude in the way, way back of the room is suddenly burst by a fellow Shatterdome co-worker, who inches past them to get to the punch bowl and smiles when he realizes the people he’s almost stepped on are Newt and Hermann. He’s dressed like a zombie. It’s some pretty impressive makeup work, to be honest. “Hey, Dr. Geiszler, Dr. Gottlieb!” the guy says to Hermann and Newt, respectively.
It’s not worth the effort to correct him. Newt’s so used to it at this point that he basically responds to Dr. Gottlieb too, anyway. Besides, he gets a kind of weird thrill out it. “Hey, man,” Newt says. “Enjoying the party?”
“Hell yeah,” the guy says. Newt knows him vaguely in the sense that they’ve made eye contact in the mess hall before, possibly while reaching for the same dinner roll; booze makes everyone ten times friendlier, he guesses. “You guys look great. Jealous. I’m always trying to get my boyfriend to do fun coupley shit like that with me, but he hates it. He thinks it’s corny. I think it’s romantic, though.”
“Romantic?” Newt echoes, and then flushes. Oh, God. Three years of matching costumes, three years of people getting the totally wrong idea about him and Hermann. No wonder Newt can’t get any dates. “Oh, uh, we’re not--”
But Newt’s, uh, friend takes out his phone and snaps a quick, probably very blurry photo of them. “Gonna send him this,” he says, and almost spills his drink on Hermann’s head as he stumbles away to the dance floor. “Bye, docs!” he calls over his shoulder, and then spills his drink on someone’s shoes instead.
Hermann clears his throat and gives Newt another look, as if to say now see what you’ve done. Newt rolls his eyes. “I don’t understand,” Hermann says, tersely, “why matching costumes would automatically imply--”
“Cute costumes!” another tipsy partygoer stopping by for some punch tells them. “I didn’t know you guys were together! Makes sense. Happy Halloween.”
“We’re not,” Hermann says, but they’re gone before he can finish. He sighs, and takes a moody sip from his red solo cup. It’s bizarre seeing Hermann pout. Bizarre, and totally cute. (Ugh, Newt needs to go to bed if he’s starting to think dumb shit like that.) “Really. It’s absurd. It’s just a Halloween costume.”
“It is kind of weird, though, isn’t it?” Newt says, finally putting words to the thought that’s been nagging at him since Hermann walked into the room wearing that blue Starfleet shirt. “That we keep doing this, I mean.” One year, two years, three years...
“Friends coordinate Halloween costumes all the time,” Hermann says, and adds in a hurry, “and colleagues--er, rivals, which is what we are, of course--do, too.”
“Three years,” Newt says. “Three years in a row. Do you think that means something? Like--on a larger scale? I don’t know. Cosmic?” Newt doesn’t believe in fate or anything, that’s totally unscientific, but...you know. A guy has to wonder.
“It’s not as if we’re sending out bloody marriage announcements,” Hermann says. “Or--oh, I don’t know. Holding hands and snogging in the middle of LOCCENT.”
“We must’ve known subconsciously, right?” Newt says. “People don’t just show up--individually--at parties as Kirk and Spock. Like, the matching Bill Nye ones were weird, and last year--I mean, astronauts and aliens are totally legit solo costumes--but this time--”
“And what does it makes sense mean?” Hermann says. “You and I--the two of us--romantically involved--it most certainly does not makes sense.”
“It doesn’t,” Newt agrees.
“Foolish thing to say, really,” Hermann says. “The two of us. Together. It’d never work. We’d drive each other mad within in week.”
“Plus, I can do way better than you,” Newt says. Hermann whaps Newt in the shin with his cane. Newt sees it coming from a mile away, to be honest, but decides against dodging it in order to give Hermann the satisfaction of making contact. It’ll put him in a better mood. “Okay, sorry,” Newt says, “I meant that you could do way better than me.” He reaches down and rubs at the spot, and Hermann smiles. See. Satisfaction. “You’re such a dick. Do you think it means something, though?”
“That I’m a d--?”
“No,” Newt says. “That this--” He gestures between them. “--keeps happening.”
“What keeps happening?” Hermann says. “Being mistaken for--?”
“No,” Newt says. He feels his flush return with a vengeance, and spread to his ears, and down to his neck. “Not that. What would that even--? That’s dumb. I meant the matching costumes.”
They stare at each other, silent, contemplative, Newt still a little embarrassed. Hermann’s smile fades into a frown. He looks kind of cute with his stupid pointy plastic ears, too, to be honest. Ugh. Ugh. Newt hates his life, and Hermann’s stupid cute face. “Coincidence,” Hermann finally decides.
“Probably,” Newt agrees.
They take sips of their drinks in unison. Coincidence.

Coincidence || Koushi Sugawara
Pairing: Koushi Sugawara x F!Reader Genre: Fluff Type: Scenario Warnings: none that I can think of Word Count: 1,439
Thank you @midnightweeds for helping me flesh this out! :D
Tumblr media
It was no coincidence that the two of you met.
Coincidence would have been finding out that you were both from Miyagi after being partnered in English class. Coincidence would have been realizing that you had met once before, at a volleyball game last semester. It may have even been that you all had been meeting up to study, from the same book in the library.
You hadn’t wanted to believe that it was a coincidence that he was so nice and thoughtful when you were together. Or that it was a coincidence that Sugawara seemed to feel the same way about you. He had always agreed to meet with you, always made you feel like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders.
All of that had led to you clutching your phone in your hand, working up the nerve to text him.
Suga, can we meet up?
Sure! Want to study?
We can! I was hoping that maybe we could meet outside the library without studying
Like a date? I could be persuaded ;)
Like a date. I enjoy your company, please, Suga?
Okay, I’ll pick you up at seven. We can go to the movies and then dinner?
Sure! I’ll be waiting!
Did you really just ask Sugawara out? And did he really just say yes? Who knew he could be so smooth?
You looked at the time on your phone and jumped up. It was already six o’clock. Even if the date was impromptu, you wanted to look nice, so you picked out your best dress.
It was six-thirty by the time you got your makeup done, the natural look making you feel pretty.  At precisely seven o’clock you heard a knock on your door.
“Hmm, punctual, I like that,” You muttered as you pulled on your shoes and opened the door.
The first thing you noticed was that he was nervous, looking at the ground as he wrung his hands. You had seen this twice before; first when he shared an English book at the library and then when he had come to study at your house one time.  It was really sweet that he was nervous.
“Hello Y/N, you look absolutely beautiful,” He said as he looked up from his hands and smiled at you. His smile was nothing special, but it had a way of making you smile along with him whenever he offered it to you in class or the library. And it wasn’t any different now. It was inviting and made you feel like he didn’t have a worry in the world.
“Thanks, Suga,” you blushed as you messed with a piece of your hair. “ You look really nice, too! Any idea on what movie we are going to go see?”
He offered you his hand, grinning at you when you took it. As he walked you to his car, he said, “I thought that we could go see [your favorite movie]. I heard that there was a special showing of it tonight. It’s one of my favorites.”
You nodded and bit your lip to mask your excitement, “That’s one of my favorites, too,” you admitted, blushing when he opened the passenger door for you.
Once you got in, he closed the door and rounded the car. He offered you another smile when he got in, running his hand through his hair.
It wasn’t a long drive to the movie theater from your house and the drive was anything but silent.
Sugawara was just easy to talk to, just as interested in you as you were him. Even though you had been in the same class, sharing a book as a way to spend time with him, you felt like you didn’t even know him. And as you learned more about him, you realized how right you were.
He wanted to be a teacher, and you couldn’t help the grin that settled on your face when he told you that. You couldn’t help but think that he’d make an amazing teacher. He was so good at talking to others, and when you hadn’t understood what you were studying, he would take the time to explain it to you. He never once got mad when you couldn’t understand the concept.
“Suga, do you mind if we just sit and talk? Or if we just go ahead to dinner? I like talking with you,” You admit shyly, hoping that he wouldn’t mind.
“I really like talking to you, too,” He admitted as he pulled out of the movie theatre parking lot without even parking. “I don’t know why such a pretty girl would want to go on a date with me.” It was quiet, almost as though he hadn’t meant to say it out loud.
You couldn’t hide the blush that came to your face as you smiled at him, “I could say the same thing. Well, almost, you're so handsome and you're amazing at volleyball. I don’t know why someone like you would want to go out with me…”
He looked up, shocked that you heard him and even more so that you didn’t think that you were worthy of going on a date with him. He didn’t know what to say, so he just placed his hand on top of yours.
“I guess that it’s just a coincidence that we feel the same way then.”
“No, I don’t think that it’s a coincidence. I think that it’s fate.” You say smiling at him.
“I like that better, that it’s fate that we met. That we ended up needing the same book or that we kept meeting every week after that.” He said and you couldn’t agree more.
When you got to the restaurant, you were led to a table in the corner. It felt cozy and private, and it allowed the both of you to talk about any and everything. It felt natural, the pair of you laughing. And as you finished up your meal, you ended up talking about high school, surprise taking over his face when he realized you went to Aoba Johsai.
“You mean you went to the same school as Oiwaka?”
You nodded, admitting that you knew him with a wrinkle of your nose.
“He was good,” you shrugged. “But you guys made it to nationals, didn’t you?”
He rubbed the back of his neck and nodded, “Well yeah, but, I didn’t get to play too much in that game. It was fun though.”
You nodded as you picked up your fork. “I’ve seen you play before, when you were playing in the gym last semester.”
He glanced up at you and ran his fingers through his hair again. “You did?”
“Yeah,” You said, playing with your fingers shyly. “And I think that you are really good.”
He blinked, looking at you in shock, as though he couldn’t believe you thought he was a good player.
“You really think that I’m good?”
“I do. I’ve come to every game since I found out that it was you playing.”
He blushed and ran his hand through his hair again. You continued to talk into the night, your conversation lighthearted and enjoyable. When it was time to go, your waiter surprised you when they asked how long the two of you have been dating. You looked at Sugawara and noticed that he was blushing as he said, “Um actually, we aren’t dating. Not yet anyway.”
You smiled and nodded, “Okay, is that you asking me out? Or is that just another coincidence?” You winked at him.
He laughed and nodded, “No it’s fate. Y/N-chan will you be my girlfriend?”
You giggled, “Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend Koushi.”
And were grateful to yourself for taking that chance that day during freshman year and texting him. Because after that date, you had fallen head over heels in love with him.
Falling in love with him was as easy as his worry-free smile. Through college, the two of you scheduled your classes together, just so you could be together. And, when you both had saved enough money, you moved in together, living together until you graduated and decided to settle down in Karasuno. It wasn’t too awful long after that that Koushi proposed, as sweet and shy as he was on your first date.
Maybe that first meeting was a coincidence, but you and Koushi liked to think of it as fate. Where would you be if you hadn’t been paired up in class that day? Would the two of you have talked at all?
You didn’t know but you were happy that you had a man like Koushi Sugawara.

Tumblr media
You’ve heard of him from your friends, and from their friends: about the infamous Jeon Jungkook and the reputation that precedes him. He’s, first and foremost, an art major — and an excelling one at that. In the short three years he’s been an undergrad, his work has been featured, so far, in a total of 4 major art exhibitions. His displayed work apparently sells rather quickly, too, which surely earns him more than enough money to successfully continue his various artistic endeavors and out-of-uni activities. You’ve heard he’s also into tattoos, boxing, and photography on the side, for example. Whether it was true or not was not something you focused on, but considering his friends were they ones telling the tales, you didn’t doubt it. Not that you thought of it often, or at all, really.
What you did question was why exactly he felt the need to stop by Taehyung’s very own, very private, and very expensive Goghrik’s Vancrylics paint collection to use instead of his own. You didn’t want to think him as cheap because, quite frankly, you knew nothing more than those whispered rumors and offhanded comments Jimin and Yoongi perpetrated on occasion. So, you settled for thinking nothing until you could get concrete answers.
For a long time Jungkook remained a simple ghost, until finally one day he just existed. Everywhere, and then, always. As if meeting him once meant he’d open the door to your home to welcome himself as an indefinite guest, you suddenly had no week free of his presence or his trace. Like a growing avalanche you learned about him with repeated increase, sometimes by choice, and sometimes by mere coincidence. Maybe it was pure coincidence, too, how you came to fall for him — for Jeon Jungkook, the artist, the fuckboy. With time though, you came to a different understanding.
Liking Jungkook was no coincidence.  It was a curse – a long, and tediously everlasting hex you’d so far failed to get rid of.
And it all started, you begrudgingly admit sometimes, with some paint and very little luck.
Being in one of the most prestigious Universities in the country naturally means you consistently face the demon of a huge – nay, an enormous campus. A wide lake rests between dispersed buildings while Hi-Q food marts border each cluster of separate dorms, connected all entirely by desire paths and concrete roads. It's no surprise then that a map is the standard gift given to all entrance students, though by now you’ve memorized practically all zones you inhabit (i.e. the Natural Sciences’ Atrium, the Physics Department, and your own dorm). Most people still use theirs, along with the mandatory transportation fare card Admissions urges all newcomers to get. More than anything it’s a must-have for anyone who wants to actually make it on time to class — more so when they’re not blessed with taking courses on a near-by group of Departments.
And it just so happened you’re amongst those ill-fated few.
For four years now you’ve been a resident of Dorm C, exactly the furthest of the dorms from the NS Atrium. Instead you’re — uselessly — at a walking distance from the Plastic Arts department, a place you’ve ventured to for only a single semester back in your second year. Back then you had decided that taking Pottery was a great way to fill in some of your electives, an idea which mostly Taehyung, an art major himself, cemented in your head. You remember nothing of your treks to the department, nor of the lessons you received, but your memory often recalls it happened whenever you visit him. Your final project, a 2-piece set of misshapen cups of tea, still rests atop one of his many bookshelves to this day. Taehyung calls them “endearing”, something about them “truly reflecting a purpose beyond what their ‘perfect brethren’ are subjected to”. Which, really, is code for they could be used as mugs, but I like them better as vases for Namjoon’s succulents,” and you’re okay with that.
Namjoon, an English Lit major, is Tae’s roommate and the other occupant of their two-bedroom flat. As luck would have it they stay on the floor above your own, right atop your much smaller and much lonelier dorm room. It’s actually one of the shared excuses you all use for your constant visits.
Half of the time you spend on their flat includes being tucked away on their couch, reading astronomy journals or watching documentaries Joon frequently sits through alongside you, or sleeping under Tae’s covers simply because he enjoys the company and can’t seem to sleep otherwise. The rest of the time the boys, sometimes with you in tow on an off day, migrate to Jimin and Yoongi’s shared flat in Dorm D. They share their space with Jungkook, if Yoongi’s complaints about late-night water-fests were anything to go by, though you’ve never seen him there.
No, ironically, the first time you crossed paths with him was in the lobby of Dorm C — your dorm. You remember he was shifting and wandering around like a lost puppy, his eyes restlessly searching for something or someone. It was him, you knew, because he’s often featured in your shared friend’s Instagram posts, and because he’s very hard to miss.
He was — is big, towering over you easily, and was then dressed all in black. A mix of comfy and effortlessly put together in perfect execution, the rolled-up sleeves of his sweater did nothing to hide the ink covering his veiny forearms. You were instantly thankful — you’ve always been drawn to tattoos. They’re admirable on others and on yourself, and you instantly had to push down the desire to keep marking your body for reasons only pertinent to the feeling of the needle on your skin or the aesthetics of the design. Your poor ass couldn’t afford another so soon, anyway.
The other thing that gave him away was his signature dark hair, long and parted in the middle to fall over his round, soft eyes. It covered his multiple piercings but did nothing to take away from the sweet persona that settled over him. Despite the dark and the goth, he seemed… cute. Very cute, and very confused. The way his eyebrows furrowed at his phone screen just before he searched through the scattered students was a dead giveaway. He was likely lost, but that wasn’t very surprising. For all the time Tae and Joon spend on Dorm D, the same couldn’t be said otherwise. Visits to Dorm C were seldom for the rest.
And a lost Jungkook… wasn’t your problem. A simple look at his boyish features was enough to ignite some sort of weird somersaults in your chest, and you wanted nothing more than to ignore it and run far away. So, you tried.
Blinking away the staring he had thankfully not noticed, you made for your own room as embarrassment coursed through your jittery limbs.
You didn’t make it very far before your plan backfired. You had to go near him to reach the elevator, and it apparently didn’t matter that you were practically hiding inside your bag, your hand rummaging through it for your room cardkey.
“Hey—uh, Y/N right?” you heard, and your body froze.
A look up, and there he was. Jeon Jungkook, calling your name. It was weird hearing your mesh of letters on his tongue, foreign to his palette yet pronounced to perfection. Equally confused as he looked before, and even further more embarrassed (you couldn’t help but think, amongst all the chaos in your mind, that his voice was ridiculously soothing and fitting for his physicality), your throat only let out a very intellectual “huh?”
“Um,” Jungkook’s eyes went wide, his head cocked to the side at your reaction. His feet shifted under him, and you tried ignoring the way his cheeks grew a lovely shade of pink when he spoke again.
“I’m Jungkook, and hyung—Taehyung mentioned you before. He isn’t answering and I’m a bit lost, so I was wondering if you could give me directions? Unless you’re not… Y/N?”
You’re often a recurrent character in Tae’s stories, so it shouldn’t have surprised you he’s spoken of you before. But it did.
“I am Y/N,” you relented, maybe a bit more bitterly than you intended. You couldn’t help but pout at the sudden reminder of Tae’s love for recording you during your most… inopportune moments. “Where is it you want to go?”
The boy in question rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, a bunny-like smile making a sudden appearance. His teeth seemed to jut out a bit, and his upper lip disappeared almost entirely, but you were sure of one thing instantly: his smile was the prettiest one you’d ever seen.
You felt your chest constrict at the sight without any sense of permission, your ears going up in flames. Clearly, you were bonkers. You continued your walk towards the elevator, praying he’d keep up somewhere a bit farther from you.  But he followed without question, easily settling besides you and offering glances from the corner of his eye. You pressed the up button and pretended not to notice, playing around with your cardkey while you both waited.
“To hyung’s dorm — I haven’t ever been there, as strange as it sounds, and I need to borrow some paint.”
“Borrow some paint?” you hummed, the notion seeming somewhat silly to you. “After you’ve used it you can’t return it, so would it really be borrowing?”
You moved to look at him questioningly, curiosity getting the best of you, and the feeling you were hit with was far too paralyzing for you to carry. It was a sudden storm of affection, a wave of currents that spread and tightened, tickling and burning your stomach each second you saw his crinkled eyes, his teeth fully bared into a humorous grin. It made your feet stick to the ground even after the doors of the elevator greeted you open.
“You’re a weird one aren’t you?” he muttered airily, more to himself than anything, before shrugging and prompting you to follow him inside the confined space. “Technically, you’re right, but saying I’m borrowing stuff sounds nicer, doesn’t it? It’s all about semantics. Don’t worry though, hyung lets me take some of his whenever I run out.”
“Okay.”
Neither of you said much after that, but you did take him all the way to Tae’s and Joon’s front door. He thanked you softly before you left, with a smile sincere and gentle in ways you hadn’t expected. You remember nodding along and, possibly, wishing him good luck on his art project, but you weren’t sure by the time you reached your room.
You remember skipping your assignments that night, choosing instead a hot shower and the comforts of your recently cleaned bed. It was the first attempt at forgetting the whole event, a new mission for your mind to complete before a crush settled its anchor.
You were used to six handsome guys. You drew the line at seven.
Tumblr media
Meeting Jungkook for the first time was disastrous for the days that followed. Maybe you were being a bit dramatic, but it was rightfully warranted. Your brain had vaguely memorized what he looked like outside of pictures, and now you saw him everywhere. It was the frequency bias all over again, and it had no escape, just like that one time you wanted to dye your hair and suddenly half the population seemed to be dying it that very color. Similarly, interacting with Jungkook meant noticing him in your peripheral when he wasn’t front and center, knowing it was him in the distance. It only worsened when your paths began to regularly cross.
It happened and continuous to happen mostly in the presence of Tae or Joon, or any of Jungkook’s roommates.
Whenever you’d spend some time on the couch with Joon, he was there. Whenever you woke up midday and decide it was high time to cook brunch for three (four then), he was already there. When Yoongi invited you over to hear some of the pieces he’s been working on, Jungkook was miraculously in the apartment. Oh, you wanted to steal some of Tae’s shirts? Jungkook catches you red handed, some stolen paints of his own right in his treacherous hold.
It’s absolutely maddening.
You wouldn’t mind it so much if it weren’t for the fact that each new stare, each new smile, leaves your stomach in complete shambles.
Who could take you back to the time when you hadn’t heard his loud laugh? To when he hadn’t seen you loafing around in your onesie after a killer test and stayed to comfort you? He even called you cute, shared some of his milk and made sure to leave only after he’d seen you smile. Sometimes he’d even notice you watch your documentaries only to pop a random question about space, or even about the science behind Star Trek or Star Wars when “Clearly FTL travel isn’t possible?” (To which you’d answer: “Not yet it isn’t, you non-believer”) before falling quiet and leaving you be. They were small conversations with no more than 3 lines exchanged, but they were more than enough for the butterflies seeping through your ribcage to go on a frenzy.
And despite everything you heard and everything you began to know, Jungkook was possibly the softest, sweetest, and most annoying person you knew. At least superficially.
You still knew nothing personal about him, with your interactions being limited to shared spaces, but you didn’t think much of it until you began to see all kinds of things: his cute habits, his quirks, and even the way his tattoo collection grows.
You’ve silently noticed the way he wiggles his toes when he sits to watch a series, how he blinks a lot when he’s confused. You’ve seen the way he scratches the back of his head when he’s not confident about something, and how his eyes smile before his lips do, and the way his laugh resonates all around the room in the most euphoric melodies. All of this you come to know as unequivocally Jungkook. And you know, you know you’re so whipped for him that you can’t stop being in-tuned with it, with his little things.
But you’re also aware of your situation, and it doesn’t surprise you when your chest starts to hurt over it — over him, because you see his other things: the way each week curls a different girl around his waist, the way his eyes turn cold when he says he doesn’t do relationships, and the way he looks at you.
It’s never with disgust or anything of the sort. It’s just that you’ve seen the way he looks at the girls he fucks with, the girls he finds attractive, the girls he likes for a single night to then discard them.
And he’s never looked at you like that. You suppose that’s good, but... then again, you guess it means you’re nothing. After all, Jeon Jungkook never offers you any hope, he never shows any interest. Technically you’re not even his friend — not really. You’re Taehyung’s other best friend, an outside addition to his usual friend group, and now to his life. You’re okay with that, you have to be. You haven’t sought him out, haven’t done anything to close the gap between you. Water and care is something you never wanted to give your unjustified feelings. You never wanted them to grow, even now.
You just failed to take note of the rain pouring over the earth and pooling beneath your feet, and you don’t notice you’re drowning until you see him at the end of the day.
The girl attached to him is a stranger to you, just like the rest you’ve seen, yet you can’t seem to shake the thought that something must be different. Whatever she has seems to be enough for the tattooed man to shatter his distaste for PDA, at least for the time being.
Your legs hesitate to unceremoniously halt in the middle of the hall. Your eyes battle not to widen and not to stare, for a second desperate to make sure that what you’re seeing is real, that you’re seeing Jungkook kiss for the first time in forever as if you hadn’t known all this time that he fucks and loves behind closed doors.
And it doesn’t matter that the kiss isn’t gentle, that he’s kissing her as if she were the very air he needed to breathe. No, what makes you sick is how he notices, how he sees you, and how he does nothing but pull her closer in response.
You push yourself to move as soon as his eyes drift away again, unwilling to tremble before him and unwilling to make any more mistakes.
Class would have to wait. You needed coffee, even if it meant being late. And you absolutely hate being late to Astrophysics, but you definitely hated seeing him more.

51 for Ringsy. Please
Let’s just say this started as a prompt and then somehow escalated. I basically cried while writing this, so get your tissues ready :D idk maybe it’s the upcoming wedding making me so emtional. I hope you like it. :)
German version/Deutsche Version hier
51. You make me feel alive - Intertwined
Easy sighed happily and snuggled closer to his boyfriend. He really enjoyed their time off in the woods, enjoyed being all alone and undisturbed with Ringo. Only them, cuddled up in a tent, over them the starlit sky. The only sound they heared, was the rustle of the trees in the wind and occasionally the screech of an owl in the night.
"Easy?" , Ringo softly broke the silence.
"Hmm?" , Easy answered already a bit sleepy.
"Do you sometimes think that this is fate?" , Ringos voice sounded pensive, as if he was still half lost in thought. "What?" , Easy asked. "This. Us." , Ringos answered quietly.
"You of all people believe in fate?" , Easy smirked. Ringo sheepishly cleared his throat and even if it was dark around them and they could barely see the others features, Easy could have sworn, that Ringo was blushing.
"Well, it is kind of strange, is it? In the past... we hated each other so much, but somehow we also couldn't be without each other." , Ringo responded quickly. Easy looked at him a bit surprised. "I mean did you ever notice, that somehow you were always there. You were always part of my life? No matter what happened to me, you were somehow always involved in the significant moments of my life."
"What do you mean?" , Easy asked. Even if Ringo was more and more showing his vulnerable side to him, he was still surprised by his candor, so sudden without request or trigger. It must have cost him a lot of effort to show his feelings so openly in front of him. A tingling sensation ran through Easys body, knowing, that Ringo was trusting him that much, that he let down all of his walls.
"Well, think about it... for example when I was in love for the first time, out of all people it was with..." , Ringo hesitated, he didn't know if it was the appropriate time to bring up all these old stories. But on the other hand he just felt the need to share his thoughts with Easy. "With my girlfriend at that time." , he heard Easy answere with an amused overtone. Somehow it all was pretty ironic, that they had fought over the same girl once. "Do you remember how we got at each other because of that?" , looking back all these fights about Suji appeared pretty childish to Easy.
"Hmm... I stole her from you." , Ringo noted. "And I almost beat you to death, because of it." , Easy murmured quietly. A cold shiver ran down his spine, when he thought about, that he could have lost Ringo without ever knowing how much he will mean to him one day. Automatically he held the other man a little tighter.
"Not on purpose. You couldn't know, that I unfortunatelly fell on that silly edge." , he responded, letting his hand wander up and down Easys back. He didn't want his boyfriend to feel guilty about it. For him all that was long passé and considering everything he had done in the past that accident was almost trivial in comparison.
"Still..." , Easy replied. "Well, I somehow deserved it." , Ringo shrugged, after all he had engaged in the fight as well and after all he had done... maybe he had even wanted to provoke it...
"Stop always saying that." , Easy said and gently caressed Ringos cheek with his thumb, made him look at him. "Just because you fucked up often, that doesn't mean, that you automatically deserve everything bad. That you don't deserve to be happy... or be loved." , he insisted. Ringo gulped and Easy thought to see a single tear flare up in his eyes, before Ringo captured his lips in a tender kiss, hoping that Easy would understand what he couldn't express in words right now.
Delicately Ringos fingers wandered over Easys cheek, tracing every outline of his face. Runnig over these charming dimples, that made him crazy every time Easy smiled at him. Carefully caressed these full lips, he could never get enough of. "You also were one of the first people who knew about the thing with Yannik. Knew that I like men, even though it was only a coincidence." , he said quietly.
"And I was an idiot and blackmailed you with it." , Easy sighed.
"It really freaked me out back then." , Ringo admitted.
"I am sorry..." , Easy murmured, looking back he was ashamed of his behaviour. Maybe it was, because he knew now how it felt, when you suddenly discovere, that you like men and how difficult it was to come out.
"You also said that back then." , Ringo reminded him and softly nuged his nose against Easys, to chase away, every thought of guilt his way too good hearted boyfriend migh have, with a deep kiss.
"You also were the first one to know I am gay." , Easy suddenly realized. It had never occured to him, that they both had found out about the others intimate secret, simply because of a coincidence.
"Hmm... I couldn't believe, that it was really you when I first saw you in that bar." , he grinned and rolled over, so he was now on top of Easy, only to lace there fingers behind Easys head a moment later.
"But you kept my secret, even though I lashed out at you." , Easy smiled.
"Hmm..." , Ringo placed a cheeky kiss on Easys neck. "Do you even know how cute you looked, when you were standing there looking so lost." , another kiss, "Cute and sexy." , he whispered in Easys ear. "So, you already thought I was sexy back then?" , Easy smirked and quickly turned around straddling Ringos hips, who only laughed but then got serious again. "Easy, I always found you attractive." , he said and gently took Easys head in his hands, to pull him close , "Of course I would have never admitted that." , he grinned. "But now... let's just say, that I am really glad that you are gay and that I can do this." , with these words he placed his lips on Easys and kissed him tenderly.
With a pleasent sigh Easys finger wandered under Ringos shirt, tracing his back, drawing soft circles on the bare skin. He enjoyed being so close to Ringo, physically and emotionally. Gently he kissed his forhead, when Ringo suddenly looked at him seriously, almost a bit nervous.
"And you were there when my parents died..." , he sounded husky, insecure, almost as if he barely managed to get the words out, before his voice broke. And still he had to say it, after all this had been the initial thought, that had brought up all these memories.
They had never talked about it, not like this. Of course Ringo had spoken about his parents to Easy, about how he missed them or if they would be proud of him, if they could see him now. (Easy of course stongly insisted that they would be.) But they had never mentioned the fact, that Easy had - again because of some stupid coincidence - unnoticedly been in the car too and had miraculously survived the accident.
"Ringo." , Easys voice was nothing but a silent whisper in the dark and still it was so full of different emotions, that had overrun him when he had realized what Ringo had just said. He knew, that it must not have been easy for Ringo. Even back then, when Kira had asked him about the last words of their parents and Easy just had not had the heart to tell her the truth, but Ringo had immediately seen through it. But still he had come to him later to thank him for it.
"You know, back then... I often asked myself why they had to die and... you lived. You out of all people." , Ringo admitted with a broken voice, he hoped his boyfriend wouldn't mistake that sentence.
Easy had to gulp, he had asked himself the same thing a thousand times after the accident and had eventually accepted, that he would never find an answere to this question. "I am so sorry." , he whispered with a choked voice and pulled his boyfriend in a giant hug, just held him close and hoped the other would understand without words.
"But now I know." , Ringo whispered. Easy looked at him confused. "You know, after the death of my parents... I was so angry... and at the same time I just felt empty. And then after Kira was gone... I was so... alone. And I told myself, that it didn't matter to me. That I didn't need anyone, because everyone will leave me anyway..." , he explained hesitantly.
"Ringo." , Easy sighed and softly caressed his back. The "I am here." , went unspoken.
"For everyone else I only was Richard, the man with a heart of stone, who didn't care about anyone but himself, who wasn't lovable anyway and who could never change... some still think that." , the last sentence had been so quiet, that Easy could barely hear them, but the reference to Tobias didn't escape his notice. He definitely had to talk to him, when they'll come home, it couldn't go on like this. He knew, that the tensed situation between him and his brother did affect Ringo more, than he would admit.
"So I did my thing, closed myself of from everyone, from myself and my feelings. I have more existed than lived..." , he stopped for a moment and looked at Easy , "And then we grew closer... and you turned everything upside down and still everything else was suddenly not important anymore. It drove me crazy and at the same time I felt so different, so alive..." , he took a deep breath and moved even closer to Easy. They were now so close, that their noses almost touched and they could feel the other ones breath on their skin. "With you I feel like I can finally breath again... You make me feel alive." , Ringo whispered, before he leaned in and kissed him so infinitely gently, that Easys knees got weak. Nobody had ever said something like this to him, never he had felt so loved, so he did the only thing his mind was still capable of and drew Ringo even closer, kissing him back with the same affection.
"You know. You always say, that you have never loved someone the way you love me. But me too." , Easy said, after they eventually had to breath. "You don't know how special this is to me, how special you are to me. I love you so much, Richard Beckmann." , he whispered.
Ringo looked at him. "I love you too." , he replied with a hoarse voice and this time Easy was sure, that there was a tear streaming down Ringos face. Gently he wiped it away. "Fate has a weird humor, don't you think?" , he then smiled, before he pulled him in another loving kiss.
