A little something I made for the twitter Ace attorney fans after they explained why Elle Woods and Phoenix Wright have more in common than being lawyers. I do not know much about Ace attorney, but will definitely play it someday when I can afford it.
You can find my commission info here
I learned he's a magnet for everything except men and saw some people being incredibly dismissive of how awesome Elle's story is (some truly believed she's stupid? The point is literally that she's super smart. I did not argue with anyone about that bc uni's kicking my ass).
Don't get why people throw cofee mugs at him, why he seems to have problems with birds or why one of my mutuals has a reminder on their calendar for the anniversary of him getting hit by a car. I assume he's fine after that considering he apparently survived falling off a cliff onto a river and only getting a cold.
Really looking forward to playing it someday.

Shepard holds a funeral for her clone.
The paperwork is almost harder than the ceremony. Turns out it’s tricky to register the death of someone whose birth - creation? Decanting-from-vat? - was never recorded to begin with. Then there’s some kind of question about whether the clone needs to be retroactively registered as a Council space citizen to have her death put on the official record, and if so, whether she counts as a member of the Systems Alliance or as an ‘undocumented alien’. Which is pretty fucking ironic, considering how utterly she’d have loathed having the word alien attached to her.
And once Shepard’s ground her teeth through a dozen calls and bludgeoned through the first layer of formwork - a death certificate still needs a name.
‘I have to put something,’ she says. She’s aware that her voice is ragged, and that Kaidan is watching her as he brews her fourth coffee of the evening with concern heavy on his face. She must look barely alive, up near midnight in a kitchen that was Anderson’s and still feels nothing like hers, hair falling forward, eyes shadowed grey. Datapads and empty mugs strewn around her. Fine. She’s felt barely alive ever since she woke up in a Cerberus lab.
‘You could choose one for her,’ Kaidan says gently. A lot of people speak to her gently, these days.
‘She’d hate that. A name makes you individual. She didn’t want to be an individual; she wanted to be me.’
The cofee machine whirrs softly, sounding louder than it is in the open space of the apartment. It still doesn’t feel right, all this space for one person. Someone could drown in this much space.
‘She didn’t want to be you, though. Not really.’ Kaidan pours out the coffee, his eyes only leaving her face for a moment. ‘What she wanted was to be the symbol. The face on the vids.’
He carries the mug over and sets it down beside her hand. Shepard grips it tight. The unfinished form blinks up at her from the datapad screen, and she looks away.
‘I’m not asking this because I don’t support you doing it, or to judge you for it, or anything,’ Kaidan says, after a moment. ‘I just want to understand. Can you tell me why this is so important to you? I mean - I get that you were trying to save her, and she... she let go. But...’
He hesitates, and in his silence Shepard hears, she tried to kill you. She tried to take you away from me, and everyone who cares about you, for a second time - because she was jealous.
Shepard sips her coffee. It hasn’t had time to cool down, and her lips smart. She ignores it. She thinks.
‘What you said about... being the symbol,’ she says at last. ‘I get why she wanted it, or thought she did. I understand feeling that Commander Shepard is someone bigger than you are.’
Kaidan breathes out slowly, and takes a seat beside her.
‘I get feeling that you’re so small, so nothing, next to everyone’s idea of what Commander Shepard is. And when I fall short -’ She sees him prepare to protest, and cuts across him. ‘I do, I do all the time - I feel like it’d be easier if I were the symbol. Not...’ She waves a hand, indicating all the sleep-starved mess of her. ‘This. I don’t even know when what would Shepard do and what will I do stopped feeling like the same question.’
She lets her hand fall back onto the table. Kaidan takes it and holds it tight.
‘And I think of her, the clone, waking up in some Cerberus med bay. Confused. And Brooks - Brooks was there, feeding her things to believe, manipulating her, turning her into the symbol she wanted. And I get it.’ Shepard bites her burned lip. ‘Because I woke up in a Cerberus lab. And I was scared. And they used me, and I let them.’
What she does not add is, and sometimes I don’t feel any more real than her. I don’t have any way to prove that I’m the woman who died in the wreckage of her broken ship. They wiped away that woman’s scars. There could be all kinds of tech in my head, feeding me a lie, telling me I’m real.
She swallows. Her throat feels raw. ‘And now the clone’s dead, and no one cares. We’re planning a fucking party. If I don’t push for a funeral, she’ll just go unregistered and undocumented and everyone will keep joking about how crazy this whole mess has been, how I fell through a fish tank and a mad clone tried to steal my life, and it’d be like she never existed at all. I don’t have to fill in these forms. I could take the easy road and let her be a ghost. But I can’t do that, Kaidan. I can’t.’
He looks at her, his eyes steady and patient and full of worry. Then he slips an arm over her shoulder and pulls her in, and Shepard leans into him, needing the surety of his touch, his warmth. Anything that tells her she’s something more than a force piloting a set of N7 armour.
Kaidan presses a slow kiss to the top of her head. He holds her until she stops feeling ready to howl. Then he sits with her and helps her fill in the forms, helps her choose a name for the clone, one that fits. When morning comes, he calls C-Sec and stays on the line until they agree to release the body to the Normandy, into the custody of the only person who could be considered the dead woman’s relative.
He doesn’t ask Shepard any more questions as to why she needs this done.
In the end, they bury her in space, as Shepard would a crewmate. And no one has stories to tell of what she meant to them. They have nothing to say about the achievements of her angry little life. But they wear their dress blues, and speak softly, and they turn the lights down low.
Shepard doesn’t know if this is what her clone would have wanted. Maybe she never learned to want anything for herself at all. It doesn’t matter. A funeral doesn’t help her clone; it helps her.
They lift the casket into the airlock. EDI opens the outer door. And the casket leaps away into space in a blur of silver-grey, like the body within is hungry for the stars.
#anyway the clone is a walking tragedy and ill never be normal about it#yes this is still a cr blog. but im doing a mass effect replay and i have feelings#mass effect#femshep#shepard#kaidan alenko#shenko#sky's writing#oc: sita shepard

so uhm this is kinda my first post!
I decided I was just going to post random scraps I like to write on my notes app. I actually get these ideas by spinning different roulettes; with character tropes, sceneries, and traits! also randomly picking the fandom and character I'm writing these about.
all of my work is going to be character x reader. I don't really specify the readers gender in this one even if i did base it around a female one, so be comfortable with whatever.
this came out VERY random, but I hope maybe you can enjoy it.
(English isn't my first language)
__________________________
629 words:)
co-worker!nanami x outsider!reader
The countless documents getting all dusty and old on the shelves of the office are a constant reminder of what this job feels like; old and crusty.
I know it's not different from what I like to do; sitting in front of a screen all day, except this is more of a.. monotonely tiring and dull activity, which I'd like to separate from the fun late nights I wrap myself into when I'm streaming in my dear online platforms. You see, I find absolutely no pleasure in the minimum wage that document filling brings to my life. I have no idea why I keep myself in this enclosed -and weirdly odorless space- when my streaming hobby has a better financial reward anyway.
but oh, I just lied. I know why I do.
It's all thanks to the captivating and amusingly elegant co-worker I have. Nanami Kento, aren't you such a delight for these lazy eyes?
Poised and tactful, but even more courteous than any man I've met before. We've spoken a few times, not that I'm great at chatting - oh god, not at all! - but I think he's caught my seek of belonging in this office.
it's not insane that I, as a human being, want to socialize outside of my twitch chat and discord groups to make some desperately needed friends, or even partners for life; it's just a little hard, yet respectful men like him try and surprisingly give me some space.
Keyboards clicking, coffee mugs cluttered on desks, and small chatter fill the office—a far cry from the sleek, professional vibe they sold me on when I took the job. It’s just another stereotypical sad workplace.
__________________________
-"..Suguru asks if you're done already." a low but strangely gentle tone behind me caught my attention. I look up, and meet some hazel nutty eyes.. they don't look much different than my own; sloppy and baggy, but I manage to get lost in them for a second more than I should.
I snap out of it and shake my head slightly as I let out a sigh.. closing my eyes for a second. I remember the papers due.. today. Right. I shouldn't forget Suguru gets along very very well with formality. Another thing to keep in mind, as if the higher-ups don't have weird rules to follow already. I truly am done with this job.
-"right, Suguru and his.. goddamn papers." I'm trying not to look like a mess right now, and more job-focussed in front of such a man. But the childish cat background on my computer doesn't help. "please tell him that uhm-.. Satoru messed with the computers again or something.." I’m pretty sure Suguru will believe anything bad about Satoru—he loves thinking that idiot is an actual idiot. But a gut feeling tells me it's more than that-.. anyways.
I dont really say anything else, holding my cofee mug and taking a sip.
Nanami does help me around, I bring him some coffee myself eventually - while I try to ignore nasty looks other co-workers give. as immature and juvenile as that feels for a workspace.
a second of a slightly long silence holds between us. -"I expected this," Nanami's usual stern face doesn't budge. Yeah, he's kind, but professional - I'm constantly messing up my work, and this leaves me more than embarrassed. "I already told Suguru something happened. Don't.. stress yourself out." I think his tone hesitated a little there; that last part wasn't like usual.
I choked on the coffee. Watching him turn away- stealing just the smallest glance in an expression that leaves me with nothing to analyze -and step to his desk. Just four words that just felt weirdly intimate in a way I can't seem to explain.

Surprise cocoa recipe:
- 10 oz milk
- 2 tbsp sugar (mix of brown and regular)
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder (play around with different types!)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp instant cofee
- small pinch of salt
- (optional) dash of cinnamon and cardamom
- couple oz of chocolate (any kind mixed how you like)
Start by adding all the dry ingredients to a pot over medium temperature, pouring in a tbsp or two of water and whisk thoroughly till it forms a smooth "sauce." Add milk and heat till simmering. Add chocolate and stir till melted, use a spatula here to get in the corners. In your cup/mug/whatever add the vanilla (to keep it from being cooked off). Pour mix into cup, top with whatever, and enjoy.
FUCK YEAH??

"The Spellshop", by Sarah Beth Durst
𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 (𝐔𝐊) - 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The subgenre cosy fantasy is here to stay. It was popularized by authors such as Travis Baldree, Sangu Mandanna or TJ Klune, and now we must add Sarah Beth Durst to the list, not doing so would be a disservice to this genre that has created a welcoming safe place for many readers.
“The Spellshop” is a slice of life rather than pure action based fantasy. Its main character, Kiela and her spider plant companion Caz arrive into the island after fleeing the revolution that ended with the assasination of the emperor. Kiela and Cath lived in the library of sorcerers at the high capital, and they managed to take a few crates full of books with them. Now they’re living in Caltrey, in the little cottage by the sea and the forest where Kiela was born and raised. At the village where she grew up Kiela witnesses hunger and decay and desperation caused, according to the villages, for the lack of help from the sorceres whose magic made life possible there. The emperor took the sorcerers a few years ago and the place is dying. Kiela can’t tell her secrets, of course, but she and Caz start a shop that apparently only sells raspberry jam but behind the scenes they sell spells to heal trees, help the fields grow with produce, help the forest come back to life and heal magical creatures.
This book is full of wonders. Kiela and Caz are fantastic main characters, a bit reluctant to mingle with the locals but getting close to them and making friends eventually, one step at a time. There’s all kids of people here. Caz herself is blue skinned and blue haired, she makes friends with a centaur, there are cats with wings, there’s a bakery where the patros are shaped in all the ways you could imagine, and there’s Larran, Kiela’s closest neighbor, a man who trains and looks after merhorses, half horse, half dolphin… there are mermaids and people with several arms… this book is overflowing with imagination.
The pages are wonderfully written and the reader will enjoy the slow paced story even if nothing seems to happen. And I must remark that there are books everywhere, talk of books, love for books, for both Kiela and Caz are bookworms, librarians, book scientists, dreamers.
This is a book without age target. It can be enjoyed by young children and old people equally. It’s perfect for cuddling up with a nice mug of cocoa, or cofee, or anything comforting. You won’t be disappointed by this book, it’s compelling and heartwarming yet it doesn’t come with its dose of adventure, risks, a little bit of darkness, but also love and found family. It is magical.
This is a love song to books, to imagination, to magic, to exploring different worlds encapsulated in words, sentences, paragraphs, this is a love song about sailing the universe on a ship made of books.

all i remember from my dream is that i was drinking cofee out of a mug that had a portrait of a raven on it, in pacific northwest first nations style. When i was a kid i was enamored w the haida story of raven and how he was like, the trickster but he also gave birth to night & day & all of humanity. out of all the animals i loved raven's stories the most. So in my dream i was delighted to see his image on my cup.

au tag game
tagged by multiple people but this one is for the tag from @energievie
rules (more or less): use this au generator to assign you an au, this fan fiction trope generator to give you a trope/situation/sometimes another au, feel free to keep clicking until you get something that inspires you.
then try to come up with the title, plot, vibe, and details of a fic including whatever the generators gave you. you don’t actually have to write it, just put the concept into the world! this is basically just a thought experiment.
au generator gave me: Westeros Au (like GOT?)(yes)
fic trope generator gave me: One of your characters writes a bad pick-up line on the coffee cup of their favorite customer every day coffee shop AU.
title: Hot Pie Isn't The Only One Who Works Here
let's plot: Ian and Hot Pie (GoT character) work in the tavern thing where Hot Pie leaves us in GoT. Ian and Hot Pie are friends. Ian thinks they should expand on the menu with something he heard about called coffee.
He and Hot pie experiment with it until they get a somewhat better than pisswater drink.
They advertise it around the shop, "We have coffee now.".
Then one of the soldiers from the Baratheons or Lannisters ask for a travelling version of the drink, they can take water in jugs, they want it figured out for coffee too.
blah blah they make a travelling mug somehow.
Mickey doesn't start coming around for a cup for a few weeks/months/whatever.
When he does they've perfected the drink to stay hot.
When he first sees Mickey Ian is dumbstruck and just goes through the motions . then the next time mickey gets coffee isn starts putting silly things on it like a floewr or a litle plant.
Hot Pie tells ian not to be a pussy so ian starts writing little things on ickey's portable cofee and then fesses up a few weeks after when Mickey is like "Who the fuck is writing this on my coffees"
Then he admits he can't read and Ian tells him what it says.
Mickey agrees to a date and they go on w date.
not my thing but i can see this happening. Minus when i was writing about it and started to fall asleep.
