16. Teasing kisses on every bit of visible skin

Kiryu is out of town again, on one of his interminable fucking errands for Dojima, and Nishiki is for once short on work to do and he feels itchy and restless. After some aimless wandering around which accomplishes nothing, he finally sends off a page, and not long after that he’s heading to Serena when he feels someone behind him and a soft voice in his ear says, “Hey, gorgeous.”

Nishiki grins. “Hey, Majima.”

Reina immediately goes tense when they come in together, and Nishiki realizes suddenly that he’s not sure if Majima’s ever been here since that one night. She squints at them. “Are you two going to wreck my bar again?”

“No, ma’am.” Nishiki smiles winningly, watches as she immediately calms down. “Just getting drinks.”

“Heya, mama.” Majima waves. “Swear I ain’t gonna throw anymore’a your chairs around.”

“You better not,” she says, relaxing. “It’s been shaping up to be a quiet night, and I’d like to keep it like that.”

They settle down at the bar and order drinks and talk for a while about nothing in particular. New movies they’d like to see, hostesses they both know, what they’ve been up to lately, how much Kiryu sucks at pool. Easy, simple chat, quiet companionship backed by a peculiar humming tension. Good tension. Something that the two of them share, different from how either one of them is when Kiryu, or how they are together when Kiryu is there.

Eventually, though, Majima leans in close to his ear and murmurs, “Come on, Nishikiyama, it’s too quiet. Let’s get outta here.”

Majima’s apartment is surprisingly close by–surprising mostly because Nishiki realizes he’s never been there before, that this is a gesture of trust he hadn’t expected. It’s three floors up, which is not ideal given that they’re both slightly drunk. They stumble up the stairs together, Majima fumbles the door open, and then they’re inside and they sway over to the tiny couch.

Majima lands first, in a mostly-seated position, Nishiki on top of him not quite in his lap. Laughing, Nishiki presses his lips to the side of Majima’s head, just behind his ear. “Thank you for being polite to Reina, she still doesn’t trust you.”

“Why should she? I was kinda rude last time I was there.”

“Very true. In several ways.” Majima tries to rearrange them, and Nishiki grabs his wrist and kisses it, the sliver of bare skin visible between glove and jacket sleeve. He can feel Majima’s pulse for a moment, beating against his lips, which is nice enough that he grabs the other wrist and does it again.

Majima breathes out slowly. “Oughtta be a crime to let you get lonely.”

“I’m always saying that, but I can hardly keep anyone from doing their job just to keep me company.” Pulse points on the throat, too, Nishiki kisses those and is satisfied to notice that Majima’s heart is beating faster. “I sort of wish you still had that ponytail,” he murmurs against the line of Majima’s jaw. “It’d give me something to grab.”

“Nice thought, baby, but that was a bad fuckin’ haircut for a bad time in my life. Hn. Should I worry about you bitin’ me?”

Nishiki grins. “Not unless you ask me to.”

Majima–doesn’t just let him keep going, it’s not a question of non-resistance as much as an enthusiastic surrender to the feeling of Nishiki’s mouth on his skin. He’s pretty exposed just dressing the way he normally does, it’s distracting. Finally getting to give in to that distraction is spectacular. Nishiki takes his time, covering every centimeter of bare skin with kisses just soft enough to be maddening.

“Gonna drive me crazy here, Nishikiyama.”

“You don’t think that’s the point?” Nishiki slides to the floor between Majima’s splayed legs. A few more kisses on the bare stomach that he can now reach more easily and he says, against Majima’s skin, “So you were nice enough to keep me company, what do you want?”

A gloved hand strokes his hair. “I mean, given where you put yourself, I think you’re tryin’ to give me ideas here.”

“Maybe I am. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have to ask nicely.”

It’s them, except not.

They’re older. Kiryu is, at least. There are lines on his face from a brow constantly creased and eyes sunken with the weight of things he’s seen. His peach fuzz has been sculpted into a modest goatee, and his flesh is marred with old wounds and fresh bruises.

Nishiki seems mostly the same. Same narrow gaze, same hairless chin. His hair is still long, yet slicked back and oozing with sleaze. He's scum in a white suit.

Akira prays this sorrowful creature remains in what alternate universe this magazine came from. Far, far away. For while the act depicted on its cover is desirable, with Kazuma now or Kazuma in twenty years, he wants to keep being himself.

Gigil + kiryu/nishiki :v

the irresistible urge to pinch or squeeze something that is unbearably cute and adorable

“It’s not bad,” Kiryu told him, “I got mine done and I’m still standing.”

“Kyoudai, you could brush off getting hit by a train,” Nishiki replied.

The tattoo parlor finds him anyway. He won’t be a proper yakuza without some ink.

There wasn’t much small talk. Nishiki told the artist what he wanted, stripped off his shirt and jacket, laid down on the bench and held as still as possible. The buzz of the needle is the only sound now. Arms folded under his chin, Akira keeps his eyes glued on the violet light gleaming through a crack in the blinds. Kiryu was right -- it doesn’t hurt like a punch or a bat, but the constant deep scratch is distracting.

And then, suddenly, there’s fingers pinching his cheek.

“Oi,” Kiryu mutters, “You awake?”

Akira is glad the bench is padded, because he buries his face in it while giving his kyoudai a hearty double middle finger salute.

“You’re both wrong. Your first kisses were with each other.”

Kazama sips tea while he waits for his boys to collect themselves. Kiryu’s teeth bared in a small grimace is the only outward sign of how scandalized he feels. Nishiki, on the other hand, is hacking up a lung and the bourbon within it.

“With all due respect, sir,” Kiryu says, “That isn’t right.”

Between bouts of hideous wheezing, Akira adds, “Kiryu...hasn’t kissed...anyone yet!”

“You were both children,” Kazama replies, “You were in Kiryu’s old room, and you were kissing. You said it was practice for girls.”

He lifts his cup again, this time to hide a smile as his boys try to mount defenses. Nishiki crows about the women he’s courted from one end of Kamurocho to the other and Kiryu mumbles something about making kisses special moments, but their pink cheeks fool no one.
