Nov 10th 2021
Well, work was interesting yesterday. I did not get out in time to go to my workout class and I blew off the gym as a result. 🙃
Woke up at 5:30 instead of 5 like I wanted, but I needed the sleep. Squeezed in some programming.
Today I'm going to go running after work. Shooting for 4 miles today.
I'm hoping to also do an hour of programming when I get home tonight.

Nov 9th 2021
Today I woke up at 5 to do a little self learning. I'm going to try and learn and build a web app using Nodejs by the end of the year. It has come to my attention that I set all of these goals for programming and software development but I never finish these projects. I'm going to try and change that to start the new year right. For the rest of the day my plan is:
Go to work Walk during lunch
Gym after work
Head home, eat dinner
read and do a little more programming
Bed! 😴😴

Day 8 of 100
Happy new years eve!  Today was spent mostly getting myt bullet journal set for 2021. While this is a blog devoted to my adventures in the land of code, I’m also an avid bullet journaller! Tech is amazing but htere is jsut something about a pen and paper planner. I’m so far happy with how its going, I’ll post pictures of the finale result tomorrow.
Today I really dove into fixing my merge conflicts 🙃🙃. They were part of the reason I havent really gotten a lot of work done. I was tired after work these past two days and didnt have the energy to dig into fixing them.  After fixing these merge conflits I dove deep into how I’m going to handle screen nav in my project.
I hope everyone has a great New Years. Hopefully this year will be better for all of us!

Day 3 and 4 of 100
Yesterday I added some api stuff for my code and continued to clean up the UI of the code.  Day 4(today)  I’m working on adding a transition screen for my welcome screen to the landing page. I’m researching different react packages for handling it.  My thoughts so far is that I’m glad I am constantly reading and testing new things outside of work. Designing my own app is making me think a lot harder about the architecture of the project and I have to do more research. With the holidays coming up its going to be difficult to carve time out for this so I am planning on using my commute time for coding time. It takes me an hour and a half to normally get to work so that will give me plenty of time in to mornings to still work on this project.

Day 2 Of 100
Today was day 2 of 100 in my 100 days of code journey! I’m trying to code for roughly a half after I get home from work. However, I have to workout and eat dinner so I’m not sure if I’m actually hitting a full half hour but I am getting lines of code onto an editor and commited to github! Thats all that really counts. Today I added material Ui to my project for cleaner componets. I have also started fioguring out how I want to structure my project. Overall pretty productive for a few minutes after work.

100 Days of Code
I am officially starting my 100 days of code project!
These past few weeks at work have really shown me I have so much to learn. I really want to build my front end skills. I’ve set a goal to create a personal app for myself to use in my morning routines.  I’ve updated my personal github  and you can all check it out here : https://github.com/katelynmiller2112
I’m going to post updates every evening about what I accomplsished here. Hopefully this will be a really good excersise for me.

I haven't posted in almost a year and I think I want to get back in the swing of things, blogging my academic, career and fitness goals. A lot of craziness has happened in my life and now i feel like i’m in a good place to finally pick back up this blog.
Right now I’m learning German for  a study abroad semester in the spring! I’m really excited, so this blog is going to switch focus slightly to being both a German langblr and also a stem studyblr. I’m hopping this will keep me motivated to stay focused on my German and coding goals.

9.18.18 Yesterday was productive in some ways but not in others. I went to the gym at 7 and worked at which I’m really proud about! I’m making it a goal this semester to keep a consistent work out schedule. I then ran in to the issue of self motivating and getting work done. I think I just need to accept I don’t work well in my dorm and need to go to a secondary location to be productive. Today I’m going to try that out!

5/100 days of productivity
Today was a slow lazy rainy day. I tidied up my room in the morning, did laundry and worked on more data frame stuff in python. I am currently fighting with Apache Superset  😤. It’s a pain in the butt to get running on Windows which is frustrating. I’m going to be doing a little research on data science in python tomorrow. And hopefully today I found an alarm app that will fix my getting up problems, fingers crossed!

4/100 days of productivity
Today was spent baking and reflecting mostly. I tried baking french macrons for the first time and for my first try I’m really happy with how they turned out. I have a few tweaks to make next time, but I’m overall happy. I spent a good chunk of time journaling and reflecting on my semester. My grades were good but I definatly let my mental health suffer to get these grades. While it was a rough semester for me, I was able to maintain my grades and I learned a lot about myself and my strengths and weaknesses, so there are positives to be drawn from this semester. I then read for a bit and learned some data analysis in python. I’m learning how to use Python libraries such as panda, numpy and pylab.

1/100 Days of productivity
Today I’m starting my 100 days of productivity. I woke up late...again and after reading for a bit and doing some laundry I started working on learning some python. I wasn’t having much success focusing so I decided that I needed to change up my room! I moved my desk to get more natural light.Where it used to be was very dark and I was always struggling to get proper lighting in my desk. I figured that part of the reason I wasn’t getting work done was that my desk wasn’t in a place I would want to sit and do work so I moved it to a spot where I would be more productive.I’m hoping that by moving my bed I won’t be in a spot where I will want to stay in bed all day. I still need to make some final tweaks but I’m really excited with it!
