The Blood Pact: Chapter 14 - Run
Bucky Barnes Vampire AU x Female Reader
Reeling from a bad break-up, you're desperately trying to find a new place to live but the Brooklyn rental market is a complete nightmare. You take a chance on an intriguing newspaper ad and enquire about a room in a shared house, where you'd be living with two mysterious men. The catch is that they want something other than your money for you to pay the rent...the one thing they don't have

Chapter 15
Here we gooooo. No major warnings here as it escalates in the next chapter, just some mild sexual references for now. As always I’m grateful for comments/reblogs 💜
The night of the vampire party flew around quickly. You stood in the kitchen about an hour before it was due to start, washing the dishes after dinner. Bucky was upstairs getting ready and you were feeling good in your favourite dress, ready for a girls night out with Nat and Wanda. You planned to crash on Wanda’s couch and creep back to the house when the sun was up and it was officially vampire-free (apart from your snoozing boyfriend and his best friend, of course). You hadn’t seen your friends properly for a while so were looking forward to some decent girl time with them both.
“Hey sweetie” Steve sang as he shot into the kitchen. He’d been rushing around since he got up, scrubbing at imaginary specks of dirt and ensuring everything was perfect for the big night.
“Hi Stevie” you replied as you put your clean dishes back in the cabinet. “Look, I’m all done – no evidence of human meals here”.
He laughed. “Thanks ‘hon. I promise I wasn’t checking up on you. I actually wanted to ask if I could borrow your nice wine glasses tonight, you know the crystal ones?”
You eyed him suspiciously. “And…will you be drinking blood from these glasses?”
He shrugged, giving you a look that confirmed he absolutely would be.
“Steve…c’mon” you chastised. “You have loads of fancy antique ones. How can I enjoy my wine now when I know the glass was just filled to the brim with human blood?”
“Please! I’ll buy you new ones, I promise” he pleaded. “And we don’t fill to the brim, we have standards you know”.
You both laughed and you rolled your eyes, waving your hands at him dismissively.
“Fine. But I want fancy new ones. No cheap TJ Maxx ones” you mock scolded.
Steve grinned, locking you into one of his trademark bearhugs. “You got it. Thank you!”
He began to take the glasses out of the cabinet as you wiped your hands and headed out the door to finish getting ready.
“Wait…” Steve called, his voice soft.
“What?” you asked as you spun to face him. “Don’t say you want my cocktail glasses too…”
He shook his head, then leaned against the counter.
“I uh…hope you don’t mind, but Buck mentioned you had asked about him turning you” he muttered quietly.
You nodded. “Uh huh…went down like a lead balloon” you laughed in an attempt to sound breezy, but it was strained.
“He told me what happened. I just wanted to check you were okay?” Steve watched you carefully.
“Yeah…I mean. I get it. He’s looking out for me” you replied.
Steve nodded. “He is. I hope you know how much you mean to him. Him not wanting to do that…it doesn’t change how he feels”.
You smiled, unable to help the blush you felt spread over your cheeks and neck at how hearing that makes you feel. “Thanks Steve. He means a lot to me, too”.
He smiled back before studying your face. “Tell me if I’m…out of line, but is any of this because of what I told you about me and Peggy?”
You flinched, surprised by his intuition.
“Maybe a little” you admitted. “It’s just…makes me wonder if we’re doomed. If human and vampire couples can’t work unless the human is turned. Maybe our lives are just too different”.
“Not necessarily” Steve replied. “Don’t get me wrong, it’s tough. But it’s not impossible”.
“But you…”
“The truth is, Peggy didn’t really want this life” he explained, gesturing at the space around him. “She thought she did, and we were going to…but I realised she had all this stuff she wanted to achieve in her career... Stuff she’d never have been able to do if she lived on the edge of society like I did. And you know what, she did it all. She founded her own intelligence agency, she was at the forefront of this big operation and her work saved countless lives. If I had turned her she never would’ve had the life she wanted, that she deserved. I’m so grateful I realised before it was too late. I couldn’t live with myself if we’d gone through with it and she later resented me for taking that from her”.
You nodded, slightly taken aback by this revelation. “Was she mad at you? For going back on it?”
He laughed heartily. “Oh…big time. At one point I thought she was going to throw me out in the sun she was so mad. She was furious that I’d taken her choice away from her, said I was acting like I knew better than she did about what she wanted. But you know what?”
You nodded, understanding full well how she must’ve felt. You signalled for him to continue.
“Years later…she wrote a letter asking to meet, and so we met up in DC. She was much older by then, but still beautiful. She was thinking about stepping down from work because her daughter had just had a baby and she wanted to get to know her grandchild, reconnect with her kids...She thanked me, she told me I was right and I made the right choice for us both. She said she most likely wouldn’t have regretted a very different life with me, but she loved the life she had – and she was grateful”.
“Oh, Steve” you rushed to him and hugged him, your eyes glossy with tears. It must’ve been so painful for him to lose his great love.
“So you see, Buck is right to be cautious” he explained soothingly. “It’s about you, not about him. And who knows, maybe in a few years it’ll be different. But for now, trust me when I say there’s no rush”.
You smiled up at him, nodding. “Thank-you, Steve. I appreciate it”.
You both looked at one another in quiet understanding for a moment when Bucky’s booming voice suddenly rang through the house.
“Steve! Can I borrow that grey blazer of yours I like?”
Steve rolled his eyes and you giggled, cocking your head and gesturing upstairs.
“You better go help that diva, you know how he gets”.
Steve smirked and affectionately rubbed your shoulder. “I’m glad we had this talk”.
“Me too” you smiled.
“Steve!” Bucky bellowed again, much less patiently now.
Steve huffed and disappeared out of the room.
You chuckled to yourself as wiped down the sink. You felt strangely lighter, grateful to Steve for seeking you out and speaking to you. He must’ve known how you would feel after that conversation with Bucky, having been through something similar himself, and he took it upon himself to make you feel better. You were grateful for his empathy, counting yourself lucky to have him as a friend.
As for Bucky, the chat had given you a renewed perspective. You knew he was only looking out for you, but hearing more about it from the other side was helpful. Part of you had felt rejected when he’d refused, as silly as that might be, as if he didn’t wantto turn you because he didn’t want you. Logically you knew it wasn’t true, but it had made you feel better to hear Steve echo what Bucky had already told you.
And they were correct, it was a huge deal. Huger than you could fully grasp. You were already hesitant and unsure if you were able to give up everything you’d need to, and you and Bucky were enjoying figuring out your relationship and spending time together – so why rush? Both he and Steve were right – you were just going to enjoy the ride for now.
You were so caught up in your thoughts you hadn’t noticed the pair of strong arms curl around your waist until they tightened and vaulted you up off the floor.
“Hey Doll” Bucky growled in your ear as you squawked in surprise.
You batted him away as he gracefully placed you back down.
“Hey!” you said playfully. “Why are you quietly creeping around? Creep”.
“I wasn’t quiet, you’re just oblivious” he grinned.
You turned to look at him properly, managing to stifle a short intake of breath as you took him all in. Steve’s purloined blazer was certainly put to good use, showing off Bucky’s broad back and shoulders. His crisp white shirt clung to his wide torso and his slacks hugged his sturdy thighs. As always he’d put a dab of product in his hair but a few rogue strands had already escaped across his forehead.
You could almost eat him up.
(So to speak…)
His expression darkened with mischief as he clearly recognised that look in your eye. He took a second to look you over, his hands grazing over your hips and waist as he pulled you closer. He leaned over and whispered in your ear, causing a shiver down your spine as his words fluttered against you. His finger lazily found its way under your skirt, delicately sliding across your thigh and threatening to move higher.
“Why don’t I just tell Steve the party’s off” he murmured, his teeth playfully catching your earlobe. “Then we can have a private party of our own…”.
You felt the moisture pool between your legs at his words and your libido momentarily took over as your eyes met his. You would happily blow off Nat and Wanda if it meant him taking you upstairs and making it tricky for you to walk in the morning…
“C’mon” you sternly whispered back, grabbing his wrist and reluctantly removing it from your leg. “You’re seeing your friends and I’m seeing mine. Let’s be good”.
He shot you a mock pout. “Where’s the fun in being good?”
“We could have our party tomorrow instead?” you replied breathily, your finger running along the slither of chest peering out from his top button.
“How about you come meet me at sundown?” you continued as your finger worked its way up his chin. “I’ll be waiting in the kitchen…wearing a little dress…and you get to find out if I decided wear underwear or not?”
He grinned, eyes darkening with lust as his hands skimmed over your backside.
“Fine. But you better not be”.
He punctuated his sentence with a sharp smack to your ass causing you to squeak in surprise.
“You’re insatiable” you teased.
He winked and you giggled as you kissed him.
🩸
Your eyes creaked open as you blearily took in your surroundings. It was bright wherever you were, too bright in fact. You squinted and held your arm up to shield your eyes as you sat up and looked around the room.
You were on a couch…a couch? Wanda’s couch! Right! You had crashed here after your night out. It was strange being back here again, this had been your temporary home after your break up so it didn’t exactly fill you with warm and fuzzies to relive that time.
There were no shades on the living room window so the morning sun was almost blinding. As you moved upright you noticed the thumping in your skull and the dryness of your throat, the evening of drinking and dancing catching up with you. You groaned as you lumbered to the sink and poured yourself a glass of water, greedily guzzling it down as if you’d been lost in the desert for days.
You poured another and sipped from this one sensibly as you didn’t know if your stomach could take any more gulping. You tracked down your discarded purse which you seemed to have launched across the room at some point, finding your shoes along the way. You pulled out your phone and checked the time. 7.30am. You winced, this was no hour for a hangover. You had a couple of texts from Bucky sent in the early hours, telling you the party went well but he missed you. You smiled at his words, already looking forward to seeing him later that evening.
It had been a great night with Nat and Wanda. Maybe too great. You had thrown caution to the wind, chucking back drinks and dancing until your feet could no longer carry you. Eventually you had all set off on a mission to find restorative fries, linking arms and striding down the street as Nat threatened any creeps who dared try talk to any of you. It had felt like you had laughed constantly, nobody else existed of your trio. You realised how much you’d missed them now you spent so much time with Bucky, vowing to ensure you all met more regularly going forward.
You toyed with the idea of flopping back onto the couch and getting another couple of hours of shut eye. You could hear gentle snoring coming from the bedroom down the hall, Wanda and Vis must’ve been utterly dead to the world, oblivious to you stalking about in their apartment. You had a flashback to a poor dishevelled Vis being rudely awakened by Wanda crashing in a heap through the front door, him gently trying to coax her to bed as you laughed so hard your sides hurt.
You felt jealous of their big warm bed, imagining the comfort of your own sheets, and so made the split decision to go home and sleep off your hangover in one of your favourite places. You ripped a page from the notebook on the kitchen table and scribbled a message on it before affixing to the fridge.
GONE HOME 2 SLEEP AND DIE OF HANGOVER – THANKS FOR LETTING ME CRASH, GREAT NIGHT - LOVE U xx
You ensured you had all of your stuff and crept out as quietly as you could, wincing as you closed the door behind you and hoping they wouldn’t wake up. You were looking forward to collapsing into bed and having a lazy day before making up for lost time with Bucky later.
*
One subway ride and a hastily bought bottle of water from the bodega later, your key was in the front door and you were home. You let yourself in, yawning as you kicked your heels off in the hallway and strolling into the kitchen. It was a little bit after 8am.
The kitchen was chaos. Maroon stained drinking glasses strewn everywhere (including your beloved crystal set), drops of blood on the counter, a discarded wash cloth where someone had clearly attempted to make a start cleaning but had given up early on. A misplaced hat had been abandoned on the kitchen table, and half a deck of playing cards seemed to be littered across every surface. The dregs of a fun party, it seemed. Looks like the creatures of the night really let their hair down.
Amongst the chaos your eyes were drawn to a note on the fridge, so you walked over to get a closer look.
Sorry about the mess – do NOT clean, we’ll do it when we get up. Promise. x Steve
You chuckled and grabbed a couple of crackers from the cabinet, chomping them down to satiate your hunger as you fired off a message to Nat and Wanda about how much fun you’d had. Nat had stuck a few blurred photos from the night in the group chat, you smiled fondly as you scrolled and ascended the stairs.
You stretched and yawned as you turned the handle to your bedroom, grateful for the house’s complete silence as you prepared to get a bit more sleep. One of the pluses of living with Steve and Bucky was that you were never disturbed in the mornings, free to snooze for as long as you liked without interruption.
The room was dark, your shades still drawn from last night. That was fine, sunlight wasn’t exactly your friend right now. You flicked on your light switch and ambled into the room, tossing your phone and water bottle onto the night stand as you peeled back the covers.
It was then that you heard a voice from the corner of the room. A voice that shook you from your quiet solitude, chilling your very bones.
“So nice to see you again, baby” it said.
You turned painfully slowly, fear gripping you entirely as you dreaded turning and facing whoever or whatever was in your room. Something primal in your brain screamed for you to run, danger, danger! Get out! Danger!
Finally your eyes met his and you were amazed that you were still standing.
It was the man you had met in the park last week. What had Bucky called him? Rumbold? Runlow?
Rumlow.
He grinned at you, his smile predatory and dangerous.
“Good morning. I hope you don’t mind, but I haven’t had my breakfast yet” he rasped. “And I’m famished”.
You began to run.

The perfect sexy dress for a wedding as a guest involves balancing style, elegance, and appropriateness for the occasion. Here are some tips and suggestions to help you find a stunning dress that makes you feel confident and comfortable:
1. Understand the Dress Code and Venue
Formal/Black-Tie: Opt for elegant evening gowns with sophisticated details.
Semi-Formal/Cocktail: Choose chic cocktail dresses that are stylish yet comfortable.
Beach/Outdoor: Lightweight fabrics and breezy silhouettes work best for outdoor settings.
2. Flattering Silhouettes
Bodycon Dresses: Highlight your curves with a fitted silhouette, but choose one with tasteful details like ruching or strategic seaming.
Wrap Dresses: Adjustable and flattering for various body types, often featuring V-necks or low backs.
Off-the-Shoulder Styles: Showcase your shoulders and collarbone, adding a touch of allure without being too revealing.
3. Necklines and Hemlines
Necklines: V-necks, sweetheart, halter, or one-shoulder styles can add a sexy touch while remaining elegant.
Hemlines: Midi lengths are versatile and sophisticated, while maxi dresses can be glamorous. If appropriate, a tasteful mini dress can also work.
4. Choose Quality Fabrics and Details
Fabrics: Satin, silk, lace, and chiffon add a luxurious feel to your dress.
Details: Look for lace overlays, sequins, beading, or subtle cutouts to enhance the dress’s allure without being over the top.
5. Color Selection
Classic Colors: Black, navy, burgundy, and jewel tones like emerald or sapphire are timeless and sophisticated.
Seasonal Colors: Pastels for spring, bright hues for summer, rich tones for fall, and metallics for winter weddings.
6. Accessorize Thoughtfully
Shoes: Heels can elevate your look, but choose a comfortable pair suitable for the venue.
Jewelry: Statement necklaces, earrings, or delicate pieces can complement your dress without overpowering it.
Clutches: A stylish clutch in a complementary color can complete your ensemble.
7. Balance Sexy with Modesty
While aiming for a sexy look, ensure the dress is not too revealing and that you feel comfortable throughout the event. Balance is key.
8. Popular Styles to Explore
Slip Dresses: Sleek and minimalistic, often in satin or silk fabrics.
Mermaid Dresses: Fitted through the body and flared at the knees, highlighting curves elegantly.
Asymmetrical Dresses: Unique hemlines or necklines add a modern and sexy twist.
9. Shopping Tips
Try Different Styles: Experiment with various styles to see what flatters your body type best.
Alterations: Ensure the dress fits perfectly by considering tailoring if needed.
Budget: Set a budget and explore options within that range, including rental services for high-end dresses.
10. Stay Updated with Trends
Current Trends: Incorporate elements like metallic accents, bold patterns, or minimalist elegance based on current fashion trends.
Inspiration: Look for inspiration on platforms like Pinterest, fashion blogs, or magazines such as Vogue.
Final Tips
Respect the Couple’s Wishes: Ensure your dress choice aligns with any guidelines provided by the couple, such as avoiding white or adhering to a specific theme.
Confidence is Key: Choose a dress that makes you feel confident and comfortable, as this will enhance your overall appearance.
By considering these factors, you can select a sexy and appropriate dress that fits the wedding's atmosphere and showcases your personal style. Happy shopping!

Metropolitan (1990)
Are the members of the Sally Fowler Rat Pack 14 years old or 40? Though Whit Stillman’s comedy of manners remains coy to specifically when this Christmastime story takes place, one thing is eminently clear: these college students were Born in the Wrong Generation, or so they believe. A collage of party scenes is peppered with patter covering everything from literature to art to the state of society these days. Tom extols Socialist ideologies but quickly enough adopts to the black- and white-tie evenings of this pretentious pack. He has plenty of opinions on literature but never actually reads it himself, preferring the one-two punch of literary criticism to tell him what to think. Nick laments the slow decay of society down to the little things like detachable shirt collars, though his cynicism wears thin with the girls in the squad as time wears on. Charlie pisses and moans about the defamation of the aristocracy and proposes the ludicrous acronym UHB, or Urban Haute Bourgeoisie, as a more descriptive alternative to ‘preppy’ or ‘WASP’. Audrey enjoys Jane Austen and isn’t like the other girls. The topics discussed are high-brow and the theories leveraged self-assured. But with Stillman’s sly winking wit, it feels like children playing dress-up. Are the drinks they imbibe truly cocktails, or just Shirley Temples and ginger ale? The fact that it’s enough to get one guy sick at a party would indicate it’s the real deal, but there’s something about people holding nondescript glasses of clear liquid in scene after scene that just starts to feel false. Charlie somehow manages to look more and more like a caricature of a middle-aged accountant with each scene, his ridiculous commitment to long overcoats and neckties peaking in its insanity when two of the Rat Pack venture out to the Hamptons to rescue Audrey (only after being turned away from every car rental agency in Manhattan). The world is very big and constantly changing, and all of that just makes these students seem all the smaller.
For all that Tom pooh-poohs Mansfield Park, this has a decidedly Austenesque feel to its comedy and characterization. The romance between Tom and Audrey is fraught and a one-way street for much of the film, Tom blissfully ignorant of Audrey’s feelings as he pursues another, more distant woman in Serena. Though she weeps and is wounded by the crimes of obliviousness committed by her object of desire, she’s still a strong individual with opinions of her own. Similarly, the dialogue flows smoothly, an ironic river of words where everyone has just the right barb. This isn’t in the camp of a Aaron Sorkin type of clever, where the audience is bludgeoned into submission with verbose prose, but rather falling into that quaint eloquence one could expect from Jane Austen or perhaps one of the Brontës. A nice little bon-bon for after Christmas dinner.
THE RULES
SIP
Someone says 'cab' or 'prep'.
A Christmas tree appears in a scene.
Born in the wrong generation shenanigans.
BIG DRINK
Location- or time-establishing text.
Someone comments on Tom's coat.
Rick is brought up in conversation.

Journey to Yukimatsu
Hello! Time to hit the slopes with Yukimatsu! Originally when I got this pack, I thought I'd not really spend much time here since I don't like skiing or snowboarding or just sports in general but the mountain is beautiful so here we are.
The area here is more or less a small commercial cluster of businesses catering to visitors, like a small Ski lodge village, so there's a visitor center/ranger station, ski apparel shop, gift shops and restaurants.
The Onsen, now renamed the Daidouji Onsen is modelled after a traditional ryokan inn, and rather than bulldoze the lot, I actually just built on what was already there, adding some functional floors, with an indoor Onsen, spa facilities upstairs, and some wings to either side using debug.
Kiyomatsu Point is now the sprawling private estate of the Ito family. The property towers over the area, and in keeping with what I think the narrative around them was supposed to be, their home is a thoroughly contemporary, minimalist, slightly obnoxious expression of modern Japanese architecture, with my main inspiration for it being the Falling Water house by Frank Lloyd Wright.
I kept one rental lot here, but decided to turn it into a modern ryokan experience, the Kiyomatsu Ryokan. So kind of a cross between a traditional inn and an international hotel. The original rental lots' locations right at the base of the slopes made it a bit odd for me to have ground floor villa style homes there, so the architecture here feels more urban and commercial. The terraced slopes behind the lots, with a bunch of houses on it would have been a great place to have rental homes of that nature but oh well, it's all just set dressing.
Anyway, this place is not the most sleek or stylish place to stay, and that's the point, it's kind of an old 90s style kind of joint, built with modern sensibilities, but with an almost overcompensating Japanese facade, with interiors that haven't been updated that much over the years. As of this posting, the interiors aren't done, but I'm in no hurry.
The other rental lot is now the Yukisumi Cafe. It's actually a restaurant lot, meant to be an old family biz, and serves Western fare mostly. I kept the menu to wine, cocktails, coffee, hot cocao and other hearty Western dishes. The cafe is located along a small shopping street, again, lined with businesses catering to the montain's visitors.
And that's all for Yukimatsu!

Tell me about the Twin Peaks ones
@scioscribe and @bedeliainwonderland also asked about peculiar hunger of black velvet! <3
chablis along the midway: post-s3 Audrey/Cooper, let the old people fuck at the Roadhouse (also Tammy is there to say hi!). An excerpt:
It was five twenty-three a.m. when the call came through, and Cooper threw his arm back from his face to the flash of a number with a Washington area code on his cell screen.
“Cooper here,” he said, low over the hum of static that was there on every cellular device he’d used since he came back from Odessa, the sunsick drone that had followed him down the wires to his rental house out east.
“Cooper, it’s Tammy. I’m at the Calhoun Memorial Hospital. Audrey Horne was admitted here around midnight last night—I came to take her statement.”
He sat up headlong. “Audrey?”
“Deputy Briggs found her up by the border while he was out on drug surveillance. Gordon called me first because I was already stationed in Montana for the research I told you about, the saloon that stayed up during the town fire.”
Static took over on the line. Cooper braced himself with a hand on the mattress. Most calls from across this distance made him think of how little it would take for him to come unstuck inside the rush of electricity, like a half-transmitted newsreader on antenna television. Audrey was at the border, in the hospital, a few hours behind him and held steady at a deeper point of the night than the one he was held in now. “Have you seen her?” he asked, hoarse.
“I’ve interviewed her already,” Tammy said, still with that badge-flash brightness to her voice even after her dark hour on the highway. “She said she’d talk if I bought her something to smoke when she gets out of here this morning.”
“So now you’re driving out to the nearest drug store,” Cooper said, closing his eyes to the thought of Audrey on the other side of a lit cigarette, a hot flare of light like the wink of a ruby or a radio tower. “She likes Metropolitans—king size, red carton. At least, that’s how they used to make them.”
peculiar hunger of black velvet: This was also going to be post-s3, with some general speculation on where I'd like Laura, Cooper and Audrey to end up eventually, primarily sad metaphysical Laura/Cooper but also fix-it Audrey/Cooper endgame. I started this not long after the s3 finale aired but work was crazy and it was a bit too big for me to think about so it stayed very fragmentary and I haven't played around with it all that much since, but now I'm reading it and it's kind of exciting to see again. Another excerpt:
“Laura,” he said, “we don’t do this.”
But Laura swayed down to kiss him again, so close her hair fell over him with a scent like a slow wink of anise.
In the evidence boxes from the Palmer house, there had been a glass perfume bottle tied with a lattice of satin ribbon, a cocktail umbrella, a small plastic ballerina with a skirt made of net the exact texture of a surgical dressing. Diane, I am holding in my hand a pink-veined flower petal, a little curled around the edges. The ribbon of the bottle he’d untied himself, with some care, and after that he had sprayed and inhaled once, twice, caught in a kind of tender shock by the possibilities it had suggested, the wash of violet that hit him like dusk blown over a misty river. While the perfume counter at Horne’s clarified the where of it, he doubted it came to her through the man himself.
It had hurt him, then, to know these all as things that Laura had taken for herself, between swathes of red. It seemed to him now that there was an honor in being taken.

The áo dài dress has traditionally been marketed with a feminine appeal, with "Miss Ao Dai" pageants being popular in Vietnam and with overseas Vietnamese. However, the men version of áo dài or modified áo dài are also worn during weddings or formal occasions.
If you are invited to a Vietnamese wedding, it is best to wear formal attire, such as a suit or dress. For men, suits and ties are appropriate, while women can wear a cocktail dress or a modern ao dai. Avoid wearing black or white as they are traditionally associated with funerals and mourning in Vietnamese culture.
Vietnamese wedding dress: A key element to Vietnamese brides’ perfect look
Vietnamese wedding dress, often made with luxurious fabrics such as silk or brocade, embellished with intricate patterns and embroidery, is the symbol of love, happiness, and good fortune.
Ao Dai Ngu Than
Ao Dai Ngu Than is often worn on formal occasions such as weddings, Lunar New Year celebrations, and other traditional Vietnamese ceremonies. It is a symbol of Vietnamese culture and heritage, and is often seen as a representation of the beauty and grace of Vietnamese women.
The dress can come in a variety of colors and patterns, but is most commonly seen in rich, vibrant shades of red, blue, and green.
2.3. Modern ao dai - The most popular traditional Vietnamese wedding dress
The modern ao dai has become the most favored Vietnamese wedding dress for brides who want to embrace the cultural heritage while also incorporating contemporary elements. The modern ao dai is a fitted combination of a tunic and pants that is typically made from silk, with a high collar and long sleeves.
The modern ao dai
Many modern ao dai wedding dresses feature intricate embroidery, beading, and lace details, adding a touch of glamor and sophistication. This elegant Vietnamese wedding dress may come in a range of colors, from soft pastels to bold jewel tones, and may also incorporate modern elements such as sheer fabric or a dramatic train. The modern ao dai flatters a range of body types, with its figure-hugging silhouette elongating the body and creating a streamlined, elegant look.
3. Modern Vietnamese wedding gown for wedding party
Modern Vietnamese wedding gowns are a blend of traditional and contemporary design, featuring traditional elements such as intricate embroidery and silk fabric combined with modern silhouettes and elegant details.
These gowns are often made from high-quality silk and adorned with delicate embroidery, beading, or lace. They come in a variety of styles, ranging from form-fitting mermaid silhouettes to flowing A-line dresses with trains. Some modern Vietnamese wedding gowns also feature intricate back designs, deep V-necklines, and off-the-shoulder sleeves, adding a touch of modern flair to the traditional dress.
The bride is wearing a white Vietnamese wedding dress
Modern Vietnamese wedding gowns come in a range of colors, although white and red are the most popular. Red is a traditional color in Vietnamese culture, symbolizing luck and happiness, while white represents purity and innocence. Some brides choose to incorporate both colors into their wedding gown, with a red top and a white skirt or vice versa. Other popular colors for a modern Vietnamese wedding dress include pink, blue, and gold.
4. Price of traditional and modern Vietnamese wedding dress
Traditional Vietnamese wedding dress: A traditional Vietnamese wedding dress can cost anywhere, from 2,000,000 VND to 6,000,000 VND. Meanwhile, the rental fee is much lower, ranging from 1,000,000 VND to 2,000,000 VND. It is worth noting that some Vietnamese wedding dress rental shops may charge additional fees for altering or cleaning of the dress after use. The prices of buying or renting traditional Vietnamese wedding dresses vary, depending on the style, material, and design.
Modern Vietnamese wedding dress: The cost of modern Vietnamese wedding dresses can also vary widely, depending on the design, material, and level of customization. A modern Vietnamese wedding dress often costs from 3,000,000 VND to 10,000,000 VND. Meanwhile, renting one costs around 1,500,000 VND to 3,000,000 VND. Overall, a modern Vietnamese wedding gown can be more expensive than that of a traditional one, but there is a wider range of options for brides who want to incorporate both traditional and modern elements into their wedding attire.

The universe whispered, nah, it declared,
“Baby, you’re unlike anyone, anywhere.”
Like Yung Bleu’s Unlikely on loop,
I strut through this chaos like it’s my debut.
Maybe I keep throwing God, the universe,
Ancestors, and my “higher self” in the mix,
Just to sprinkle some cosmic glitter on this mess,
To excuse the fantasies I’m serving, nonetheless.
3D? 5D? Honey, keep up.
If you don’t get it, sip your tea and shut up.
Young souls won’t catch this flavor,
But the seasoned? They’ll savor this layered behavior.
Rent unpaid, bailiffs knocking at the door,
I’m redecorating this rental like I own the floor.
Council tax? Ha! Add it to the list.
I’m too busy elevating to care what I’ve missed.
An iPhone X bought on benefits?
Oh, the audacity—it’s giving artist energy,
Living like a phoenix pre-burnout,
But trust, my comeback is what this story’s about.
Family sending WhatsApp voice notes,
“Don’t come back ‘til you’re whole,” they wrote.
I hear the love wrapped in their fear,
But baby, this isolation? It’s couture, not tears.
They call me crazy; I call it reborn.
From rabbit holes to rabbit crowns worn.
I ghosted them first, then they ghosted me back—
Call it karmic couture; I’m dressed in that.
Teen cousins watching my moods like reruns,
Adults dissecting me with “what’s to be done?”
But sweetie, I’m not your group project.
I’m the syllabus you can’t quite dissect.
Darkness? Yes. Isolation? Of course.
But look at me now: I’m the damn tour de force.
Every struggle sculpted this sass,
Every knock polished my glittering glass.
Now I’m 99% close to my final form,
Molded by chaos, born of storms.
Court dates, homelessness lurking in shadows,
Yet here I am, a rose in cosmic meadows.
So what’s next, universe? Surprise me.
More lessons, more drama? Try me.
I’ll take it all, wrap it in silk,
Spin it into gold—this pain, this milk.
I’ve learned the art of surrendering grace,
To be molded, reshaped, and own my space.
Not for their validation, not for their cheers,
But because my destiny’s crystal clear.
I’m not “likely.” Never was, never will.
I’m a cosmic cocktail, a shot to spill.
Too much? Too real? Too bold? Too free?
Exactly, darling—this icon is me.
So here I stand, unapologetic, divine,
The universe’s muse, a rare design.
You can sip your tea or stand and stare,
But remember, honey—I’m unlike anywhere.

The Blood Pact: Chapter 7 - No going back
Bucky Barnes Vampire AU x Female Reader
Reeling from a bad break-up, you're desperately trying to find a new place to live but the Brooklyn rental market is a complete nightmare. You take a chance on an intriguing newspaper ad and enquire about a room in a shared house, where you'd be living with two mysterious men. The catch is that they want something other than your money for you to pay the rent...the one thing they don't have
Series Masterlist
Chapter 8
Hi all. Bit of a shorter chapter as we build up to their Big Night. Warnings for beginnings of smut, talk of blood drinking and reader being a bit over eager with Bucky (but he's very willing).
You were a jittery mess the next day as you waited for sundown. The hangover didn’t help much, either. Part of you even wondered if you’d dreamt it all, and Bucky would come down those stairs as he did every night and everything would be as it was. Awkward and uncomfortable. But you remembered his hands on you too clearly, the feel of his tongue against your neck, the breathlessness from that kiss…all too real to have been a dream.
You distracted yourself with housework and a catch up video call with Wanda and Nat, filling them in on Peter’s dastardly deeds as they scoffed and shouted – outraged on your behalf. You were still annoyed at yourself for your moment of weakness, but Nat vowed to avenge you and it felt good to be talking about it and laughing, reminding yourself that it was only the important people in your life who mattered.
You did a couple of loads of laundry and took a long leisurely bath. You wanted to look nice for Bucky but didn’t want to look too dressed up as you normally wore casual shorts or loungewear around the house, so one of your sexy cocktail dresses would certainly raise an eyebrow from Steve. You settled on a tight leggings and tank top set you knew emphasised every curve of your body, popping on a bit of minimal make up for good measure.
You had ordered your favourite takeout as your capacity to cook was non-existent. You were sat at the kitchen table eating when they finally descended the stairs and came into the kitchen. You looked up and greeted them as naturally as you could, trying to ignore your heart as it hammered in your chest.
Steve was dressed up and ready to go in a crisp white shirt and navy tailored pants, while Bucky was more laidback in dark jeans and a fitted grey t-shirt. The two of you exchanged the briefest of heated glances before you turned away and asked Steve if he was looking forward to his night out.
“I am, yeah. Haven’t seen this crowd in a while so it’ll be good to catch up” he beamed.
“Fun!” you responded cheerily. “What’s a vampire gathering like? Do you have a human sacrifice? Drink the finest AB negative from martini glasses?”
Steve laughed heartily. “Not since the 70s. We normally just hang out and catch up, put on some music. But yes, they do offer refreshments so you’re off the hook tonight”
You smiled back. “Sounds like a blast. Say hi to Blade for me”.
You laughed together for a moment before Steve’s expression turned into something more serious.
"Are you two going to be okay together without me?” he asked, looking between you and Bucky. “I’m a little worried I’ll come home and one of you will be torn limb from limb – and I mean it, both of you have a fair shot of being capable of that”.
You both turned to look at Bucky who was standing at the kitchen counter, reading through some mail. He glanced back at you briefly before turning to Steve.
“We’ll be fine” he replied solemnly as his azure eyes locked with yours once more, giving nothing away. “Won’t we?”
You nodded. “Yep…I’m still kinda hungover so I’m probably gonna watch a movie and call it a night. We’ll just stay out of each other’s way”.
Bucky nodded back as Steve eyed you both. You could see he wasn’t wholly convinced, worried about what the two of you might get up to in his absence.
If only he knew.
Steve eventually got to his feet, satisfied that he could trust you both not to kill each other at least until he got home. Or as satisfied as he’d ever be, at least.
“Okay, good. Well I’ll get on my way, then. Just call me if World War III breaks out”.
He headed to the door as Bucky walked with him, they were chatting about some old buddy of theirs, Rumlow something? So you tuned it out. You picked up your empty plate and took it to the sink, throwing away the takeout containers and turning the faucet to rinse. You were suddenly nauseous as you knew it was only a matter of moments before you and Bucky were alone, mindlessly scrubbing the plate as you felt your nerves take over.
You finally heard Steve say goodbye as the front door closed, and then silence from Bucky in the hall. You swallowed, wondering if you should make the first move or wait until he said something. Or maybe he’d changed his mind and was just going to ignore the whole thing. You rubbed at the plate a little harder, even though it was already clean.
You didn’t have to wait much longer as you suddenly felt strong arms from behind loop across your waist. You yelped and dropped the plate in surprise, you hadn’t even heard him enter the kitchen. He pulled you tight against him as his lips found your neck, sucking softly on your skin as he worked from behind your ear and down to your collarbone. You closed your eyes and let yourself sag against him as you leaned into the kisses, your hands gripping his. You whimpered quietly as you allowed him to sweep you away. He stopped kissing and you could feel his grin against the back of your neck.
His hands sharply flipped you so that you were facing him and you were immediately lost in his eyes as he pulled you against him, gently moving a strand of hair from your face as he studied you. You were painfully aware of how easily he could manoeuvre you without even breaking a sweat. It shot a burst of electricity straight through you.
“We need to talk-” he started, his voice firm and authoritative, but you didn’t let him finish.
You flung your arms around his neck, desperately pulling his face towards yours. You felt like you’d collapse if you didn’t kiss him in the next few seconds. You pushed your mouth onto his and despite his insistence on talking he didn’t resist as he kissed you back. You vaulted up into his arms, wrapping your legs tightly around his waist as he lifted you, staggering across the kitchen as you both blindly bumped into the counter and the table. He finally pinned you against the wall, your back flush with the cool plaster as he broke away and forced you to look him in the eye.
“I’m serious, Doll. It’s important that-”
But you gave him no leeway, diving back onto him as you greedily found his lips once more.
“Later…later. Please…” you mumbled into his mouth as your hands frantically ran up his shoulders. You were so desperate to have him that you couldn’t wait a moment longer. And maybe part of you worried he’d talk himself out of it.
But he broke away again and you sighed with frustration as he pointed a stern finger in your face, the other arm keeping you upright.
“Stop that” he chided.
You tried to move to him again but he caught your face in his hand, squeezing your cheeks in his fingers so that you looked like a caught fish. You sighed, admitting defeat and prying his hand off of you, pressing yourself against the wall as you waited for him to talk.
“That’s better” he smirked triumphantly before becoming serious again. “Okay. If we’re gonna do this, there’s no going back. You understand?”
You nodded obediently.
“It’s going to be intense. You get that foggy feeling when I feed from you? I feel a version of it too. That means we have a strong connection. It’s sort of like a bond. It happens sometimes with certain pairings of vampires and humans. Nobody really knows why, we just know it intensifies even further if that pairing have sex. So I need you to know this all going in, because it might feel overwhelming at times, alright?”
You nodded again, both exhilarated and slightly nervous. Also it felt validating to know you weren’t just a horny mess and there was something there.
“But I’ll be here with you alright? And we can slow down or even stop if it gets too much. You just need to communicate with me”.
“Okay. I can do that” you respond shyly.
He watches your face for a moment, seemingly checking that you understand everything he’s told you. After he seems satisfied, his gaze changes to something darker as his eyes scan you up and down. He’s still holding you against the wall, your legs squirm slightly around his waist. You realise the position he has you in leaves you quite…vulnerable.
“You’re wearing that to get me going, aren’t you?” he whispers, roughly pawing at your tight leggings.
You feel moisture pooling between your legs as you stare back at him defiantly.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about”.
He laughs. “Oh, really?” A finger slowly traces from your collarbone down across the curve of your breast and down to your stomach. Your breath hitches and your eyes widen as your skin goosebumps under his touch but you manage to keep your composure. Mostly.
“So it’s just a coincidence that tonight of all nights you’re wearing something that means I can see almost every part of you?” he asks, his face inquisitive.
“I just like to be comfortable at home” you reply breezily.
He grins, his finger still exploring your torso.
“There’s something I want to ask you…” he says softly as his finger moves from your stomach down to the apex of your thighs. You flinch, your body freezing as he hovers over your crotch.
“Mm?” you respond, unable to tear your eyes away from the precarious position his hand hovers in.
You gasp slightly as he begins circling your clothed core, the tight material means the sensation is especially heightened and your arms shoot up to grab his shoulders for support. You cling to him and he smirks as he presses his forehead against yours and continues to work you over. You begin to whimper softly and bite down on your bottom lip as the sensation leaves you breathless. You can already feel the beginnings of a climax and he’s barely started.
“I wanted to ask…” he continues as you subconsciously wriggle against his hand. His voice is softer than you’d ever heard it, velvety. You can practically feel the arousal radiating from him and it surges your ego like nothing else.
“…I’d like to feed before we really get started. But from your neck, this time”.
You pull back and look at him, finally distracted from his touch.
“My…neck?” you ask hesitantly, your fingers move up to stroke over where your jugular is.
He nods. Removing his hand for a moment and delicately kissing your neck instead. You sigh as his lips ghost over your skin, closing your eyes as you lean into the tingling feeling.
“Yes, right here” he whispers as his tongue takes a cautious swipe over your nape. He groans slightly as he leans back into the kisses. “Like Steve said that first night we met, it’s a very intimate area to feed from. But if you agree…I really think it’ll enhance the experience…for both of us”.
He sucks on a patch of skin and you shudder with pleasure as he nips at you gently with his fangs, your fingers dig hard into his shoulder blades.
“…Okay” you manage to utter breathlessly.
He pulls back and grins fiendishly at you, fangs bared and smile wide. You’ve never felt more like prey than in this moment. That man will swallow you whole if given the chance.
“Okay” he nods. “Let’s go…”.
He pulls you away from the wall and throws you over his shoulder in a fireman’s carry, you shriek with excitement as he heads to the stairs.

Unlocking Your Dream Day: Theme Wedding Ideas for a Glamorous Celebration
Weddings are more than just ceremonies; they represent the essence of the couple’s personality and dreams. For those captivated by elegance and splendor, glamorous wedding theme ideas can transform a simple celebration into a grand spectacle. This post delves into Theme Wedding Ideas that not only spell luxury but are imbued with charm and grace, making your special day unforgettable.
The Enchantment of a Glamorous Wedding
At the heart of every glamorous wedding is the allure of sophistication. When you think about a glamorous wedding theme, imagine venues that speak volumes, such as grand halls or picturesque castles. The decor is generally dominated by opulent colors like gold, silver, and creamy pastels, which reflect a regal ambiance. Crystal chandeliers, elegant floral arrangements, and subtle lighting can enhance the mood, setting a lavish backdrop that promises luxury at every glance.
Choosing the Perfect Theme Wedding Ideas
Selecting among theme ideas for wedding requires considering your personal story. Do you imagine your wedding at a beach at sunset, or does a ballroom under starry skies sound more appealing? For a glamorous theme, you might consider a "Great Gatsby" style gala, complete with jazz music, flapper dresses, and art deco invitations that whisk your guests back to the roaring twenties.
Another enchanting option is a "Royal Ball" theme, where guests can enjoy an evening of sophistication and regality. Here, everything from the table settings to the guest attire would mirror the exclusivity of a royal affair, complete with a palace-like venue adorned with opulent decorations.
Integrating Glamorous Wedding Theme Ideas into Every Detail
Every element of your wedding should echo your chosen theme. Start with the invitations; opt for designs that incorporate metallic fonts and elements, suggestive of the glamour that awaits. Your dress code can also play a significant role in reinforcing the theme. Encourage guests to dress in black-tie attire, which naturally elevates the event's elegance.
Your menu selections are equally important. Consider a fine dining experience that includes multiple courses, each presented with exquisite culinary skill. Signature cocktails and vintage wines can be selected to complement the meal, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Memorable Touches that Enhance Wedding Theme Ideas
Personal touches can make your wedding memorable. For a glamorous wedding theme, consider a live orchestra to serenade guests throughout the evening or a classic car rental for stylish arrivals and departures. Photo booths with vintage props or customized parting gifts, such as miniature champagne bottles with golden labels, can leave a lasting impression.
Utilizing Technology to Elevate Theme Ideas for Wedding
In the age of digital technology, incorporating innovative elements into your wedding can add a unique touch. For instance, digital mapping can be used to project fairy-tale images or starlit skies onto the venue walls, creating dynamic backdrops that change throughout the evening. Social media can also be leveraged to enhance the experience, using custom hashtags for guests to share photos and videos in real time.
Planning and Execution: Bringing Your Glamorous Wedding Theme to Life
Effective planning is crucial to realizing your glamorous wedding. Start by selecting the right venue that aligns with your theme and can accommodate your guest list comfortably. Hiring an experienced wedding planner can be invaluable in managing the intricate details that a glamorous theme demands. They can coordinate with vendors, manage timelines, and ensure that every element from decor to entertainment is perfectly aligned with your vision.
As you finalize your plans, remember to incorporate feedback from your partner and close family or friends. Their insights can help refine the details and ensure the event celebrates your shared vision of elegance and joy.
Theme Wedding Ideas: A Gateway to Your Dream Wedding
Choosing Theme Wedding Ideas that resonate with your vision of glamour and elegance can set the tone for a truly magnificent wedding day. Whether it’s through luxurious decor, sophisticated attire, or enchanting entertainment, each element should contribute to an atmosphere that’s nothing short of magical. Remember, the key to a successful themed wedding lies in the details—each one should echo your theme, ensuring that your special day is as unique and unforgettable as your love story.
Embarking on this journey with a clear vision and meticulous planning will ensure that your glamorous theme wedding not only meets but exceeds your expectations, leaving you and your guests with memories that will last a lifetime.

How to Plan the Perfect Yacht Party in Goa?
If you're looking to host a unique and memorable celebration, there's nothing quite like a yacht party in Goa. With the scenic beauty of the Arabian Sea, vibrant nightlife, and a range of luxurious yachts available, Goa offers the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable experience. Here’s your ultimate guide to planning a flawless yacht party.
Choose the Right Yacht for the Occasion
The first step in planning a yacht party is choosing the right vessel. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering with a yacht in Goa for couples or a grand celebration with friends and family, selecting the appropriate yacht sets the tone for your party. Consider the size of your group, your budget, and the amenities offered, such as a DJ setup, bar, and dance floor.
When to Plan a Yacht Party in Goa: Timing is Everything!
Timing plays a crucial role in your yacht party experience. Goa’s peak season from October to March is ideal for calm seas and pleasant weather. However, evening cruises are particularly popular, offering stunning sunset views and cooler temperatures. Make sure to book in advance, as boat parties in Goa are in high demand during this period.
Plan Your Yacht Party Entertainment: Music, Dance, and More
No party is complete without good music and entertainment. Most yachts come equipped with a DJ or sound system, so you can groove to your favourite beats. For a more traditional touch, you can include Goan dancers or live music. A boat party at Goa is a perfect opportunity to dance under the stars, with the city lights twinkling in the background.
What’s on the Menu for the Goa Yacht Party?
Food and drinks are integral to any party. Opt for a menu that complements the vibe of your celebration. From Goan specialities like seafood and vindaloo to a full-fledged barbeque, the choice is yours. Don’t forget to stock the bar with a selection of cocktails, wines, and spirits. Many yachts offer catering services, making it easier to manage.
Dress the Part: What to Wear for a Yacht Party
Dress code can make a significant difference in setting the vibe. Light, breezy clothing is recommended for day cruises, while evening parties can be a bit more formal. Comfortable footwear is a must as yachts can have slippery surfaces. For a cruise night party in Goa, a semi-formal attire with a touch of glamour is ideal.
Cost Considerations: Budgeting for Your Yacht Party
The cost of hosting a yacht party varies depending on the yacht, duration, and services. A basic package might include the yacht rental, crew, and a few refreshments, while premium packages can cover everything from gourmet meals to personalized decor. The cruise night party in Goa price can range from ₹20,000 for a small group to over ₹1,00,000 for larger, more extravagant events.
Booking and Legalities
Booking your yacht party well in advance is essential, especially during the high season. Ensure you have all necessary permits if required, and check for any restrictions on alcohol or loud music. A professional event planner or yacht rental service can assist you with these details, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Making the Most of Your Yacht Party
To make your yacht party truly special, personalize it with unique touches like themed decor, custom playlists, or even a surprise element like fireworks. Capture the memories with a professional photographer, or set up a photo booth on deck. Whether it’s a romantic evening on a yacht in Goa for couples or a wild night with friends, make sure every detail reflects your style.
In conclusion, a yacht party in Goa is a splendid way to celebrate life’s special moments, blending luxury, adventure, and the serene beauty of the Arabian Sea. Set sail and create memories that will last a lifetime! All set! Get ready for your amazing Goa Yacht Party already!

Top 3 Ways to have Fun in an Inflatable
Invite Friend’s & Family
Nothing beats the energy of having close friend and family come around for some fun. Invite everyone to bring their best bouncing skills!
Create a group chat or an event page to generate excitement. Share vibrant photos of your inflatable bouncy house, and watch the RSVPs roll in.
Encourage guests to dress relaxed and be ready to be active. You might even want to host a friendly competition with prizes for the highest jumper or most creative bounce moves!
Having a mix of ages can add to the joy. Kids will love racing each other while adults reminisce about their own childhoods spent bouncing away carefree. But don’t forget significant age gaps will need extra supervision from adults.
Don’t forget to set up designated areas for spectators too. Everyone should feel included, whether they’re flying through the air or yelling from the sidelines! This good time to add on chairs and tables to your next order.
Balls or Ballons
Adding balls or balloons to your inflatable rental can transform the experience. Also, water balloons as well. They create an inviting atmosphere and spark excitement among kids and adults alike. This cheap fun option you can do just remember to clean up after words.
Think of how fun it would be having an array of balloons inside the bounce house. Kids love to pop them, adding an element of surprise.
Balls are another fantastic addition. Whether it’s beach balls, dodgeballs, or soft rubber varieties, they encourage active play. You can set up mini-games inside the inflatable that keep everyone entertained for hours. Be sure to remove after done and keep the unit clean for other families to use.
Choose vibrant colors that match your party theme for both options. This not only enhances aesthetics but also creates memorable photo opportunities during the event.
Refreshment & Beverages
Staying hydrated while having fun in an inflatable is essential. After jumping around in a vibrant inflatable bounce house or sliding down a slide, your friends and family will appreciate some refreshing drinks. Set up a beverage station nearby with water, soda, or fruit juices to keep everyone energized. Just remember to keep these off the inflatable at all times.
Consider adding some themed refreshments to match the occasion. You could serve colorful cocktails for adults or fun mocktails for kids. Don’t forget about snacks! Finger foods such as chips, popcorn, or veggie platters are perfect for refueling between bouncing sessions.
By providing tasty refreshments and beverages, you elevate the fun experience even more. Affordable options abound when looking into cheap inflatable rentals; they make it easy to focus on enjoyment without breaking the bank. So, grab your favorite drinks and get ready to make unforgettable memories with loved ones at your next inflatable party!

Today is Saturday, it’s about 8:30pm just finishing up eating dinner and drinking a couple beers under the outdoor kitchen dome. it’s an open dome structure with a complete kitchen under it and seating that consists of four seats from a car on some wood boxes, some folding chairs, two stools, a milk crate and a coffee table. I love it, it’s great cooking outside with the breeze. my only wish would be to have some hot water and a little more light but we can’t be picky.
For dinner I had beans and rice, a staple of our diet now (which means it’s the cheapest way to get all the macros in and also very popular hear and quite good 👍). You can dress it up in so many ways tonight i added onion, avocado, salsa, and beef (carne). This is what we eat for most meals as it’s fast and you can make lots of it too.
Today Annagrace and I woke up made coffee and headed to the beach where i surfed for about 2 hours. Still getting used to the size and power of these waves and understanding the local priority and where to sit. It’s a blast though i have so much fun out there. it was a little smaller today but not by much haha.
after surfing we went into town a little more south and grabbed some lunch and a cocktail at Kooks Smokehouse. We hung out there waiting out the afternoon rain storm, Annagrace read her book and i surfed the internet for a little while i had connection. We got a rental car, it’s a 4x4, the other day which has made it such an ease getting around. we stopped in some local shops and then grabbed some snack at the supermarket and headed to the beach. We were in the area of playa carmen and found these beautiful tide pools that people were sitting in and sea life was rich within too. we explored the tide pools and rocks like we were kids and looked through pile and piles and piles of rocks and shells for some cool finds. I love to collect the sea glass and colored tile pieces that get rounded around the edges! we finished the day at the beach off with a beautiful sunset, the first we could clearly see.
Overall it was a great day!

Pick of the Month: Trattoria di Montaluce
AUTHOR: ARTSY CHOW ROAMER
Pick of the Month:
TRATTORIA DI MONTALUCE
Whenever I’m wanting a taste of Italy in my own backyard, I head up to Montaluce Winery in the beautiful hills of Dahlonega. It’s the perfect spot to sit and enjoy the views with a bottle of their wine and some great choices of small plates, brunch, lunch or dinner.
The architecture follows that of any small Tuscan village around Italy with the red clay tiled roofs, stone walls and high ceilings with elegant chandeliers. The grounds are so beautiful with rows of grapevines, ponds, lush landscaping and tall trees creating lovely shady spots to enjoy the breezes.
SOME HISTORY
The original building opened with a gracious tasting room, dining room, event spaces and outdoor patio. The general manager, Matthew Garner, was brought on to help build and maintain every aspect of the big project that included villa rentals and some very special residences.
It was an ambitious vision for sure and there were times of struggle but the ship righted itself. The soil and weather conditions in Georgia make for a longer growing season with grapes that provide strength, complex flavor and aromas. Their award-winning wines are produced in their own in-house winery at the farm making them one of the top three in the state.
two restaurant choices
While the restaurant in the main house is wonderful, in 2021, they opened the Trattoria di Montaluce kust next door and that is where we headed on a lovely Sunday afternoon to check it out.
Stepping inside the cozy dining room, you smell the heavenly aromas of Italian herbs and warm bread from the large orange pizza ovens on full view in the open kitchen. The staff regularly look up and call out welcomes to arrivals like you’re a regular they recognize.
Several big screens around the bar show soccer, golf and other sporting events from around Europe which makes it a great spot to gather and catch a few games with a beer or signature cocktail. The place was already pretty full inside and the outdoor dining and patio were packed when we got there.
COCKTAILS & FIRST COURSEs
There’s a lot on the menu which will take you a bit to get through. Trust me, anything you choose will be traditional and just like your Nonna would make. You will want a drink of course as the bartenders are super. A wide flat body glass choice on the traditional martini with three stuffed blue cheese olives was a big success while a negroni in a short glass filled the bill nicely for my husband; both pretty and delicious.
My suggestion is to begin with a shared bowl of pasta fagioli soup or a classic Cesare salad. We chose the latter, and it was excellent in a way you just don’t get in other restaurants. The art of the perfect dressing of the crisp fresh greens with the salty flavors of anchovy and shaved parmesan is harder to get right than you might think.
Bread service comes with a sharing of veal and pork meatballs that are very light, creamy and packed with herb flavoring of rosemary and garlic. The tasty bread is the perfect dipping vessel for the marinara love on the bottom of the bowl. You will be in the clean plate club when you send it back!
SECOND COURSE
As most of you know, I am a pasta gal and I had to try at least one course. Staying simple is always rule number one for the true test of the best Italian kitchens. Carbonara with guanciale, cage free eggs, salt, pepper and parmesan with a light herb sprinkle was so delicious I hogged most of it for myself instead of sharing like a good girl should.
They are making their own pasta, and it is very apparent. If you want a heavier choice I would go for the pappardelle al ragu with beef and pork. There is a clean Amatriciana and tagliolini di mare with squid ink pasta, clams and shrimp. Simple classics that are sure to please.
Pasta not your thing? Go with the pizza. Those ovens are putting out some wonderful crispy crust on the thinner side in twelve different combinations from margherita to salmon lox. Want to make your own? They offer over twenty different toppings and bases to add to your pie.
There are a number of secondi choices should you have the room for them. Tuscan style short ribs, chicken parm, lasagna and whole roasted sea bass to name a few can easily be shared. If you just want to nosh with your wine, there are three different choices of mercato on a board served with fruit, breadsticks, nuts and house-made jam.
dessert
We don’t always have room for dessert, but the waiter gave us our choices and we thought we had to try a luscious ganache chocolate number that was drizzled with two kinds of sauce with fresh berries on top. Served with a little cream on the side, it was rich and just as light as you would expect a European dessert to be.
after lunch
As families lingered to enjoy their Sunday meals, many were sipping glasses of grappa with a small espresso on the side. We joined in and found the grappa to be the best we’ve had since visiting Italy. The espresso was fresh as well which can often be stale from lack of ordering in other restaurants. When you hear people speaking Italian, you know you are in the right place.
STUFF TO DO
Montaluce is obviously a destination experience but not just for weddings by far. The villa rentals offer a way to stay for a luxury weekend sleeping up to six and coming in at $350-$500 a night. Styled shoots for the photographers in your group are on offer as well as fly fishing, wine hikes with gourmet picnics and Chef’s Table meals with five delicious courses. Don’t forget that Dahlonega offers beautiful mountains, waterfalls, shopping and their own restaurants to explore.

CONCLUSION
I think you can see why Montaluce is one of our favorite places to visit. It’s perfect for a five-star weekend getaway with friends, a romantic wedding spot, the perfect brunch choice and the best Italian trattoria experience around. You can dress it up or dress it down. You’ve got lots of choices. Go make them!
