One Piece Chapter 1087 - Initial Thoughts
And We Are Back!
5 long looooong weeks for Oda to acquire his eye surgery laser vision but now we can resume the Egghead arc well...everything but the Egghead arc it seems
Still we finally get a manga dose of One Piece so let's see what we have
Spoilers for the chapter, support the official release also
An Ace cover page this time, shame we didn't do anything with the laser eyes but Ace and Capybaras make up for it
In the G1 shipyard there are two navy ships whose hulls are dented, apparently known as 'battleship bags' which Garp trains with
Jango and Fullbody are surprised that this is Garp's daily routine, but also that the second ship was Aokiji's!
Also these dents are caused by brute strength, no fruit or haki
Reminder too that Navy ship hulls nowadays are layered with Sea Prism, so I think this is the first instance we've seen of Sea Prism being weathered
I get that this dude has been present in the post TS Navy exposition but where's my man Bogard?
Back to Fullalead and Wolf is already in the drink
I mean Garp just tossed the mega-giant into the water like Thames Water dropping sewage
Vasco's next for the attack with a fireball
That's cold Garp, using the lesser pirates as a shield, but I guess since they're not your allies it's not morally ambiguous
Garp ain't even fazed either
Garp's fighting has managed to get all the slaves and marines back on the ship to escape
Oda my man, why did you bring Tashigi if you're not letting her do anything???
Coby, Helmeppo and Grus are fighting with Garp still, but the plan is to fall back
Aokiji's back and he didn't hear no bell
Garp gives the orders for the trio to leave while he holds ground, but Coby spots a woman in danger and jumps in to help
But Grus senses it's a trap, and he's right
Garp steps in but eats a stab from Shiryu!
Garp says the wound is nothing but Coby's still on the guilt
I wonder how Shiryu is bypassing haki? because Coby is known to have great Observation Haki, even sensing enemies below surface level
Cross Guild were foolish enough to bounty Garp? Seems that Crowns are worth 1 billion berry (how does Buggy, Crocodile or Mihawk have that kinda cash?) and Garp has 3, on par with an Admiral...and his otherwise absent grandson
The redshirts try to swarm Garp but Aokiji tells them they still wouldn't stand a chance
Mini flashback of how Aokiji became Garp's protege, turns out Aokiji insisted him into it
Young Garp definitely looks a lot like Luffy
So Kuzan was like 'I've learned everything the marines told me' but didn't know Haki? I thought all Vice Admirals knew it
Joint training led to Garp just venting at Kuzan about his family
"You have a habit of raising enemies" - well 'raising' is used loosely
Double punches from master and student sends both men flying
Now Pizarro starts gloating, taking aim at the escape ship
Pizarro's fruit does just feel like an advanced form of Pica's fruit
Pizarro being annoyed with Blackbeard being on the news is interesting, wonder if there's like a slight bit of dissent among the crew
Hibari, much like Coby, is annoyed that she couldn't help, but gets some reassurance from Kujaku
Garp is hopeful justice will prevail though, as we're left on a cliffhanger
It's good to be back
This chapter could've been a lot more action packed I feel, but I'm happy with what we got. Glad Aokiji showed more fight too, because making him look strong works for both Blackbeard and Akainu as well. Also kinda glad that the other Blackbeard members got involved, seemed weird that they would just spectate.
This is a point where Oda could easily move on to another plot section though, which I hope doesn't happen. But I'd also like Tashigi to do something impressive and if she can do something similar to Zoro's feat against Pica to save the ship that'd do pretty nicely. Realistically thinking there may be some navy backup, but we also can't rule out Perona and Moria getting involved, since Coby only escaped because Perona gave him the keys.
It's been 5 weeks but Oda has us leaned back in

For whatever reason, I was thinking about Zootopia's deleted scenes and scrapped concepts, and that lead me to an AU idea. A lot of this is copy-and-pasted from a few webpages I've found on the subject to explain it as best as I can, with some creative liberties of course:
Whether this is OWCA's doing, villains have taken over OWCA, or some combination of both, agents are required (and by required, I mean forced) to wear mandatory collars to keep them in line by administering an electric shock when their emotions run high. It has a light that changes color depending on the wearer's emotional state: green meaning calm and/or relaxed, yellow (the warning color) when they are agitated, and red (the color that initiates the shock) when they are too overly emotional. Any extreme emotion will trigger the collar, basically forcing agents to suppress their emotions as much as possible, for fear of punishment.
Because I love involving him in things, Coby is obviously aware that the collars are universally hated by their hosts and runs a secret, borderline-illegal indoor sanctuary which is also an amusement park where many games, activities and attractions are held and operated using the scraps of his and Perry's owners' many inventions, only learned about by others through word of mouth. To keep it hidden, the club is deep underground, even below Perry's lair, where agents are able to be themselves and have their collars removed for the duration of their visit, allowed to be given a chance at freedom to roam and experience a taste of the wild life without the restrictions of their collars.
Oh, and drama with Perry ensues. If anyone else wants to add, feel free to give it a shot!
Wait omg this has been sitting in my inbox for months and I don't think I've ever actually finished reading it before and i just fkldshajfkhadsk
Okay, first of all: Coby the Capybara masterlist for anyone who doesn't remember him
Secondly...
This is such a cool idea holy shiiiit 0_0
I love that Coby put this all together himself (because if there's drama with Perry, I'm assuming Perry wasn't in on this from the beginning). He's just a lil capybara; he's presumably not an engineering genius. He must have put so much effort into learning how to make all of this and figuring out how to get all the materials he needed without raising any eyebrows.
Can we talk about how gutsy it was for him to literally build it under their backyard? And under Perry's lair? He absolutely would do that because he's a little shit who likes taking risks, but damn the lil dude's gotta use his brain sometimes.
I can already picture Perry following the collar rule to the letter. He learns to train his emotions to keep the collar green at all times. Hell, even in potentially life-or-death situations, it stays green; OWCA eventually takes a look at it to make sure it's working properly. Perry hates it as much as the rest of the agents, but he'll be damned if he's going to break the rules.
I'd like to think that Perry finds out about it by literally walking in there himself. Maybe someone tipped him off because they didn't get the memo that he was not, under any circumstances, to know that this place exists. Maybe he saw someone sneak in and got curious. Maybe they were just too goddamn loud. Whatever the case may be, he walks in to check it out and everything just goes dead silent. Everyone's always been wary around Perry (as we see a few times in the show), but this is even worse than running into him on a normal day. Perry is a well-known rule follower and OWCA's best agent, and quite literally every single person in this park is breaking the law.
Perry just walks around, not looking at anybody but acutely aware of the fact that they're all looking at him, until he finds Coby. Coby has to awkwardly tell everyone to go home and that he'll update them later (he doesn't want to flat-out say that this will be up and running again as soon as he can do it without Perry being on his ass 24/7, but that's probably what he's planning), and then he and Perry have a very intense conversation.
Coby's luck that the collars are so shitty that even Perry hates them, because it's hard for Perry to defend them when they have literally zero redeeming qualities. Maybe Coby strikes a deal with him that if he hangs out here for the night without his collar and he still decides the OWCA agents should be treated like your average, everyday animal, Coby will shut it down. He has no plans to make good on that promise -- he'll probably just move the whole operation and start again -- but Perry doesn't need to know that.
Naturally, it is enough to convince Perry that the sanctuary is okay, but Perry is never coming back. If they want to put their asses on the line, that's their choice, but he's not going to do the same.
Idk which idea I like more: that Perry does eventually warm up to the idea of a sanctuary from OWCA's harsh rule and starts spending his evenings with them, or that he keeps his word and stays away until OWCA finds out about it. They'd want to punish Coby to the fullest extent of the law to make an example out of him, and even though Perry literally told him that this was going to happen and he was cool with it, Perry can't just sit back and watch it happen. Coby was gone for one (1) day and Phineas and Ferb were already freaking out. He would hate to see how the boys would react if Coby never came back. (Also maybe he kinda likes Coby but he's not gonna admit it.)
If anyone could organize a successful revolution, it would be Perry. He would gather every single agent he could think of that would be willing to fight for freedom -- both Coby's freedom from OWCA's holding cell and their own freedom from their collars -- and together, they could absolutely take OWCA down. The agents still have jobs, though, and they kinda need OWCA around for that, so Perry and Coby would have to team up to get OWCA working again -- in a better way -- to keep the evil scientists at bay, and god only knows how them working together to make the rules would go 💀

If the boys got another secret agent pet, I think they'd act as a foil to Perry: while Perry is serious-minded and professional, the other pet is silly and smiles more often; while Perry is antisocial around other agents, the other pet is chummy with them; and while Perry prefers to act as mindless as possible around the family, the other pet tests the limits of how much intelligence he can show. For the sake of the argument let's just give them a capybara due to meta reasons (I'd call him Coby)
oh my goddd sjdfhsdkjhkjs if someone wants to write a fanfic about this I would so read it
Okay this was originally gonna be like a brief headcanon and it lowkey turned into a whole fic outline but here's my take on it: Perry and Coby meet at OWCA HQ and Perry basically decides right off the bat that he can’t stand this guy. He’s loud and obnoxious and overly social and why is he so fucking happy all the goddamn time? And he’s new to the agency so Monogram is still working on finding him a host family, and Perry is just praying that the family that takes him in moves away immediately after the adoption goes through because if he gets lucky, that will mean they take Coby with them.
But for some inexplicable reason, Coby finds Perry fascinating. Most of the agents tend to be wary of him, and that goes double for the new guys, but this little fucker is determined to figure him out. Perry likes to stay away from HQ on a normal day, but with Coby around, he’s avoiding it with a newfound intensity that shocks even Monogram and Carl, and they’ve dealt with his antisocial ways for years.
But all in all, it’s just a minor annoyance, and in the grand scheme of things, it doesn’t affect Perry’s life too much. And then Coby just happens to be walking by the Flynn-Fletchers’ just in time to see Perry take off his hat and rejoin his family, and, being the ever-social agent he is, Coby decides to head over and check out what’s going on. It doesn’t take a genius for him to figure out that this must be Agent P’s host family, and that he really shouldn’t be here with them...
and that just makes him want to stick around more, because the adrenaline rush that comes with unnecessary risks will never get old.
Ferb is the first one to notice him lurking by the gate, and, because the Flynn-Fletchers have never been the type to ignore an animal, he crouches down and holds out a hand, which is all the invitation Coby needs. He trots in, and now all the kids want to hang out with him, and Coby is in paradise. Even when Perry gives his warning growl, Coby just snuggles closer to Isabella’s hand because wow, this girl can give some good pets (and hc that there’s a Fireside Girl patch to thank for that lmao).
Linda realizes that none of the kids followed her inside so she heads out to see what they’re doing that could possibly be more important than eating pie, and when she sees everyone petting this mysterious wild animal that would very easily have rabies... she doesn’t care because let’s be real, she let her boys get a platypus and she didn’t even bat an eyebrow when she saw Dennis in the house, so Coby isn’t gonna bother her in the slightest. But the reminder that there’s pie inside draws the kids’ attention away, so they head inside, Perry at their feet and Coby following not far behind. Phineas decides to ask if they can keep him since he clearly wants to stay anyway, and Linda gives the okay because that’s just the kind of responsible parent she is.
And then to make matters worse, Coby reports this to OWCA, and Monogram decides that this is the perfect host family for him. It’s not easy to adopt out an animal like a capybara, but the Flynn-Fletchers are no stranger to weird animals. Plus, he’s sure having Agent P around will help Agent C become the best version of himself.
Now poor Perry is stuck on damage control, because Coby is making a mess of everything. He’s messing up the house. He’s messing up their now-shared lair. He’s messing up Perry’s sleeping arrangements because now that Coby is sleeping on one bed, Perry can’t get up and switch beds when he can’t sleep. And, as you said, he’s getting very close to blowing both their covers because he's an adrenaline junkie with no common sense, and Perry cannot let that happen.
Perry is pretty defensive of his relationship with the boys, and Coby picks up on that really fast. Perry can’t step in without blowing his cover, but he does his best to subtly give Coby the boot and take the snuggles for himself, which proves a little difficult because the boys love this new capybara because he’s new and he’s exciting and he’s everything Perry’s not and it almost starts to feel like he’s being replaced. And if that’s not bad enough, Perry knows Coby, and he knows Coby only “joined the family” because he wanted to see what Perry was up to and he gets off on annoying the guy. He’s not family; he never has been and he never will be.
And then maybe something goes wrong on a case or something and puts the Flynn-Fletchers in danger, and Coby saves their asses in one way or another without even coming close to blowing his cover, and Perry gets to see it happen. That’s the wakeup call he needed that even if Coby is a bit reckless, when it comes down to it, he’s going to do whatever it takes to keep this family together, and that maybe he and Coby have something in common after all.
From there they start becoming semi-friends, and it still annoys the hell out of Perry that Coby is so bright and bubbly and reckless, but at least they get along. And now everyone at OWCA is shook because how did this Coby guy befriend the Agent P? But they have been known to come to work together every now and then, and Perry does occasionally give him the time of day at HQ, which makes Coby even more popular around the agency. He tries to get Perry to join the social circle, too, but tbh, they all know that’s never going to happen so Coby might as well make his peace with it now lmao
#ngl this isn't quite where i thought i was going with this when i started writing it but it be like that sometimes ig lmao#idk if Coby is a reference to something but I love him and the boys would *totally* adopt a capybara#if y'all have any thoughts on Coby hmu because per usual I like seeing what you guys think!#look i have an ask#coby the capybara#perry the platypus#pnf

Can I just shout out the anon that invented Coby the Capybara all those months ago tho because I had never given capybaras a second thought until them but now every time I see a capybara on my dash I automatically reblog it to my main not specifically as a reference to Coby but because I have a newfound adoration for capybaras
#not PnF#coby the capybara#anyways it's midnight and i just got out of the shower and i have a class at 8 am tomorrow#but you bet your ass I'm thinking about capybaras and not the ever-growing mound of homework stalking me#or the fact that i am in desperate need of a good night's sleep#ughhhh I can't wait until summer so i can return to being an overactive member of the pnf community :(

I'm struggling to think of a coherent plot of what Coby and Perry would do on an 80 hour world tour that wouldn't just be 11 minute standalone episodes for a miniseries, but the closest I got is something akin to a loosely-based adaptation of the original Around The World In 80 Days story where the whole thing starts because of a wager set by the other agents, but they get roped into a worldwide jewel thief mystery that Coby was framed for based on The Great Muppet Caper and Muppets Most Wanted.
in reference to this post
I’d heard of Around the World in 80 Days but I didn’t actually know anything about it so while I’m not sure where I thought this was going, Coby getting framed for a robbery he didn’t commit was not it sfkhdjsakfhakjs
One of the first things we said about Coby was that he was like best buddies with all the agents, unlike Perry who basically does his best to avoid them, so I can totally see Coby not only making bets with them, but also dragging Perry into his shit without telling him that it was a bet with the other agents -- and when Perry finds out that this “quality vacation time with my best friend uwu” is actually just a bet with their coworkers, I can’t imagine he’d be happy, and he’d give Coby the bitchiest of bitch faces the entire time he was trying to keep his friend’s ass out of jail. I actually wanna check out this movie just so I can picture it as Perry and Coby omfg tho if someone wanted to write it as Perry and Coby instead I would totally read it

Coby equips Ralph with nonlethal weapons so he can protect himself but not accidentally hurt himself
Y E S this is the quality content I come on this site for
(in reference to Ralph and Coby)
Part of me thinks Ralph would be like super cool and know how to use lethal weapons because, like, he's a robot, right? And part of me thinks Ralph would be a complete imbecile when it comes to fighting because he's Phineas and Ferb's robot and they wouldn't have programmed him to fight. I choose to think that no one would have any idea whether he knew how to fight (himself included) until after he's given the weapon and he either does something super cool which Coby half-sarcastically bows to him for or he fails so incredibly badly and Coby just starts freaking dying laughing (and Perry tries not to but he absolutely laughs anyway)

This capybara character seems like a lot of fun to write for! What if, on the fly, he decides to take a trip Around The World In 80 Hours (because there's no way he can travel the globe in one day like P&F) and drags Perry along for the ride, but it's not just because he wants to satisfy his need for adventure; he also wants to give Perry the vacation he deserves. He completely misses the point and barks up the wrong tree, but all works out in the end and it's pretty adorable.
In reference to the #coby the capybara tag (also I would die for Coby and I don’t know how I lived my life before that anon brought him up and I’m so glad other people liked him enough to keep sending asks like this so basically the moral of the story is ily)
You know what tho? Coby is totally the type of guy to impulsively circumnavigate the entire world -- and I have faith that somehow he would manage to get the okay from Monogram when literally no other agent can make it happen (though whether the okay is a legitamate “sure, Coby, you can fly around the world! see ya in a few days!” or a “what the fuck Coby why did you just take my best agent and disappear? oh well, nothing we can do about it now” is up for debate). Either way, Perry is 100% under the impression that this was OWCA-preapproved vacation time, and he’ll take what he can get.
I need to know what type of shit goes down in those 80 hours please anon (and anybody else who wants to) what is their vacation going to be like and is Perry going to debate yeeting Coby out of the plane at least once during it?

With Coby messing around in Perry's lair, there's a chance he might find Perry's second dimension adventure photos. At first, Coby is lowkey fuming because the guy who keeps telling him to keep a low profile turns out to be massive hypocrite, but he finds what's pretty much a diary entry from Perry at the end of the slideshow that recaps the plot of the movie and it moves Coby to tears. Next time the two are alone, Coby hugs Perry out of nowhere to comfort him, but Perry is so utterly confused.
in reference to this post
OH MY GOD I LOVE THAT??? I know he’s only been in three asks so far but Coby is officially one of the best concepts to ever grace my ask box omfg
Coby would be pissed when he saw that, because there is no way Mr. I-Took-The-Kids-On-A-Deadly-Adventure has any moral standing to be lecturing him just because he, what, stood up behind Phineas’s back? Sometimes leaves his hat out where other people can find it? Coby is a role model compared to this guy.
But then the diary entry oh my godddd just the idea of Perry sitting down in his lair after that whole thing went down and just writing out the day’s events is putting me in my feels. I can’t see him just writing down the plot, though, because there’s no way he would forget it so he doesn’t need to jot it down. I feel like if he were going to write about it, it would be because he finds it therapeutic, which means it wouldn’t really be about what happened so much as how he felt as it happened.
Can you imagine Coby dealing with all Perry’s shit -- his over-protectiveness, his perfectionism -- and almost thinking of him as kind of an asshole, and then reading over that day’s events and seeing that Perry was genuinely afraid for the kids’ lives just months earlier? That he really thought they were going to die, and that it was all going to be his fault? Perry’s always been good at hiding his emotions -- it’s part of the job, after all -- so that must be far more emotion than Coby had ever seen from him. I can’t imagine him reading all that and ever looking at Perry or his relationship with the kids the same way again.
Also the idea of Perry just kinda living his life and Coby running up and pulling him into the most random of hugs is sending me fksdhjkfaslkdf

Regardless if our favorite platypus and capybara duo win this 80 hour bet or not, for the sake of a happy ending let's just give them a cash reward for stopping the jewel thief, but Coby gives his half to Perry as thanks for bailing him out of being framed, and once they get home, Coby promises take over Perry's shift while he spends as much time as he needs to rest and hang out with the family as an apology for getting him caught up in the whole mess.
in reference to this post and this post
Oh absolutely! Coby’s a little shit and he’s proud of it, but he’s also a nice little shit and he didn’t mean to cause problems (by specifically avoiding mentioning that this whole vacation was a bet or by accidentally getting framed for a robbery and forcing Perry to save his ass). I almost think it would be funnier if they didn’t win the bet and all the agents were like “Pay up!” and Coby just pulls out a wad of hundreds from the cash reward and “casually” flaunts his money while giving the agents involved, like, five bucks or whatever the bet was for.
Perry’s probably somewhere nearby just going about his business doing his work as it goes down, and he sees Coby handing out the money and looking completely unphased by everything that went down which is kind of annoying because Perry had to work his ass off to keep the guy out of prison because of a trip he didn’t even want to go on and Coby’s just using it as a bragging point. Perry just rolls his eyes and walks away because unlike some people, Perry has work to do.
But Coby is Babie™ so obviously he has to notice that, and he finishes handing out the cash really quickly so he can go find Perry. Perry just eyes the cash like -_- and Coby just hands it to him and says something like, “You were the one that solved the case; I just accidentally got us involved. It’s all yours.” Perry just tucks the cash in his wallet and turns his attention back to his paperwork because he’d like to get that out of the way so he can go home, and Coby still feels bad so he offers to not only help him with the day’s paperwork, but to take on all his work for the rest of the week too so Perry can actually have a vacation, no OWCA agent bets involved, because that’s what friends do :,)

I wonder what this Coby guy's second dimension counterpart would be like? My take: Perry sacrificed himself to save Coby from becoming a cyborg. Sure, Coby has a few cyborg parts here and there, but he's retained his free will. Wracked with guilt that he couldn't save his best friend and partner, Coby creates his own Resistance consisting of characters we didn't see in the second dimension like Stacy to save Perry. He also tried to form an alliance with Candace, but she didn't trust him.
in reference to these posts
Oooh that's really interesting 👀
I can 100% see Perry sacrificing himself for Coby. I mean, Perry is nothing if not a family man, and his selflessness is one of his defining traits. I've been thinking about how that could have gone down and how Perry would have had the opportunity to save him, and you mentioned that maybe Coby is still part cyborg, and I got to thinking...
What if 2D Doof got to Coby before he got to Perry? What if when Perry gets to DEI, 2D Doof is in the process of turning Coby into a mindless drone? And Perry breaks in because he isn't going to let this fly, and while he does manage to get Coby out, he doesn't make it out with him.
And you're absolutely right — Coby is wracked with guilt, and he's confused, too. Where is he supposed to go from here? He can't go to OWCA; he's not naïve enough to think they'll be any sort of safe haven. It’s not like he can go home, either; he already lost Perry, and he's not putting the rest of his family in danger too.
I love the idea of Coby creating his own Resistance. Maybe he doesn't even mean to at first. Maybe he just wants to lie low and figure out what his next move is. But he just happens to be in the right place at the right time and sees a Normbot try to hurt Stacy because she made some minor mistake, and he jumps out and disables the robot before it can hurt her. Stacy automatically assumes he's with the Resistance, and when he admits that he had no idea that there even was a Resistance, Stacy says they should team up and start their own, at least until they figure out how to find the real Resistance.
I was trying to think of what characters weren't part of Candace's Resistance, and I feel like the biggest ones I can think of are the evil scientists of LOVEMUFFIN — or what would have been the evil scientists of LOVEMUFFIN, had LOVEMUFFIN had the opportunity to exist in that dimension. I can’t imagine any of them considering going against 2D Doof on their own, but I think if they had the right leader to rally them, that could be a very interesting side of the second dimension. Granted, I don’t think they’d be happy about their Resistance being led by a half-cyborg former OWCA agent and a 12-year-old girl, but it gives them a chance to resist while knowing that if said Resistance goes down, they’ll get away without taking most of the flak.
I wonder how both Resistances would mesh, because I don’t think they’d be able to just ignore each other. You’re absolutely right that Candace wouldn’t trust him -- he’d been their pet for years and lied to them the entire time, not to mention the fact that he’s now part cyborg, a signature part of 2D Doof’s markings, and then combine that with the fact that his army is made up of evil scientists... Well, you can do the math.
But I can see both halves of the Resistance running into each other while running damage control, making sure no one got seriously hurt when 2D Doof would pull some sort of unnecessary stunt like an assembly just to brag that he’s in charge or whatever. I wouldn’t be surprised if Candace demanded her troops tell her every time they crossed paths with him just so she could keep an eye on him, and if she ever saw him personally, their interactions swiftly turned into just tense silence and brief glares (though if one of them was in genuine danger, you could always expect a “Look out!” from the other because even if they’re not friends by any means, they’re on the same side and they can’t stand to lose any more soldiers than necessary).
I’ve been brainstorming ideas for a post-at2d fic about Candace and Perryborg adjusting to living together once Doof is jailed, and now I can’t help but wonder what would happen if Coby was thrown into the mix. I think it’s a safe assumption that Perryborg and Coby would make up pretty quickly -- possibly with an emotional reunion because last time they saw each other with no mind control in play, emotions were running very high -- and I think it’s also a safe assumption that Phineas and Ferb would accept Coby back as easily as they accepted Perryborg.
I feel like Candace and Perryborg’s relationship hinges on Candace, and whenever she decides that she trusts him again, they can get on with their lives. I don’t know if I think the same would go for her and Coby. Candace may have been the one to start that war, but Coby fed into it just as much, and he really got the short end of the stick, too. He only stayed away from the Flynn-Fletchers to keep them safe. Once he found out that Candace was already keeping them safe, he should have been able to come back, and she wouldn’t let him. He’d already lost his adopted brother, and she made sure he’d lose the rest of his family, too, and I don’t think that’s something he’d be able to forgive very easily. It would be a very tense couple months in the Flynn-Fletcher household, that’s for sure.

Ok but who is Coby`s nemesis? Also do you think that before he and Perry start to get along he will also get in between the nemesiship between Heinz and Perry just because of the trill meaning he have to deal with two evil guys for missions also meaning that he is missing way more than Perry and he always comes some hours later than Perry
Ooh that’s a good question 👀 gonna put my answer under the cut bc it occurs to me that a lot of my followers have never been blessed with the knowledge of Coby the Capybara, the coolest Phineas and Ferb character to never exist
I think at least in the beginning, Coby would probably annoy the shit out of Perry because he doesn’t have a nemesis yet (either bc he’s a new recruit who just finished training or he just put his old nemesis behind bars and he needs a new one, depending on which variation of his backstory we’re going with) and he wants someone to hang out with, and Perry would be *this close* to telling him to fuck all the way off. And I feel like Heinz is just dumb enough and desperate enough for a friend that he accepts Coby in without question, and poor Perry’s like 😔 because he just wants one way to get away from this dude and Heinz was supposed to be his escape
I love the idea of Coby deciding he wants to fight a couple different bad guys just because he can, so I can totally see him sticking around even after he has his own nemesis. He’d definitely know that Perry wants him gone, but I don’t think he’d really care because he’s having way too much fun with Heinz, to the point where they almost start pushing Perry out of the relationship (which Heinz has absolutely no idea is happening or he would definitely put a stop to it because he has too much respect for his real nemesis). And tbh the only thing Perry has going for him is that Coby’s lowkey never home anymore because if he’s fighting Heinz in the late afternoon he has to fight his other nemesis (nemeses?) later in the day, so at least he has the kids to himself, right? But that really doesn’t make up for what Coby’s taking from him.
And then one day Heinz asks if Coby wants to come with him and Perry after work and Perry just fuckin snaps and he goes off on them about his this is his nemesis and he has not worked his way up the OWCA ladder for five whole years just for some egotistical dumbass with a danger kink to pop in and take his favorite case away and Heinz is just like 0_0 because he has absolutely no idea what the fuck Perry’s saying but he’s never seen him so mad but Coby can understand him and he does agree to back off because he didn’t realize it was bothering Perry that much (he does still hang out with Heinz sometimes in a non-thwarting capacity but shhhh don’t tell Perry that)

It might be weird bringing an OC into a real episode, but bear with me: it's odd that Perry, aka OWCA's most antisocial agent, is the one who's forced to lead a team of newbies he barely has patience for, but if Coby the Capybara were canon, he'd be perfect to train them given his personality. Perry only steps in out of jealousy when he sees how well Coby and Heinz get along, but says he only wants to keep Coby's mischief under wraps, and Coby is more than happy to give Perry the role of leader.
wait a second, that’s a really cool idea 👀
Not gonna lie, I’m kinda living for the fact that Perry gets jealous because Coby gets to hang out with Heinz. Like, that’s a pretty big leadership role, and even though Perry wouldn’t want to do it, I have to imagine he’d be kinda bitter if it wasn’t offered to him first, especially because it’s his nemesis and Monogram already knows that Heinz can wreak a lot of havoc from the inside thanks to Agent Doof -- which actually makes me wonder if maybe Perry was offered the job first and he passed it up because he knew Coby would have more patience with the trainees and he figured he’d be happier taking on actual cases.
I wonder when Perry would realize it was a role he did want. Would it be when Coby started talking about Heinz at him like they were best friends? Or when Heinz started talking about Coby on their bowling nights? Or when Coby would ditch for a few hours every week for a mini party with his team? Or would he be able to put up with it until Heinz says he can’t hang out with Perry because he already has plans with Coby (and possibly the rest of the gang)?
I feel like it’s really plausible though, because Coby would absolutely love to annoy his buddy at work and Monogram wouldn’t turn down the chance to a) have the best agent train the newbies and b) have Perry keep an eye on Heinz. I think the problems would come in when both Perry and Coby decide they really like Heinz, because Perry would think he gets to lay claim on him because they have a shared history and Coby would think he gets to lay claim on him because he was the one assigned to this job (and poor Heinz would probably be oblivious to all the in-fighting because he gets to hang out with Perry the Platypus all day again and what more could he ask for?)

It's time for a Phineas and Ferb recreation of Home Alone starring everyone's favorite non-canon character! The Flynn-Fletchers prepare for a Christmas vacation, but a certain capybara is accidentally left behind. Coby is overjoyed with his newfound freedom, but quickly begins to miss his family and realizes that burglars plan to break in and rob the house, so he rigs his home with traps to take them on. Along the way, Coby helps Heinz overcome his indifference towards Christmas.
plz don’t kill me but i’ve never seen home alone
i do have a general idea of what happens tho, and i have to say, the idea of coby lowkey harassing a group of burglars for kicks when he could easily just jump out and kick them in the face or something is hilarious to me. like, that’s how you know he’s getting bored lmao. i’m very interested in where heinz comes in tho 👀 like idk how that would work so i can’t go off on a long tangent about it (school has stolen all my braincells im sorryyy) but if you (or anyone else) had an idea about how heinz gets wrapped up in this, i need to hear it

Looks like Ralph gets to join Coby and Concord as fanmade OCs we share with woulddieforperrytheplatypus who also happen to be Perry's adopted siblings
I WAS LITERALLY JUST THINKING THAT! I was gonna say in the tags of my last post that he reminds me of a more domestic, less trouble-making version of Coby! Literally the only reason it's not in the tags is that I saw this ask as I was looking for the link for the first Ralph post for the other ask dhdjfhskd I wasn't expecting anyone to remember Coby because it's been so long since we've talked about him but I do keep seeing capybaras on my dash and every time I think about the fact that I would have no idea what a capybara was if it wasn't for Coby so seeing his name grace my inbox again makes me so freaking happy you don't even understand 😭
#I'm too lazy to link the ralph post on this ask#bc then I'd have to link a coby post for context about him#and I'm not on my laptop so i don't have easy access to all my asks' links#(which has a whole subsection just for coby posts and it looks like I'm gonna get to add a ralph subsection too!)#so if you don't know coby a) you're missing out on a lot and b) look through this tag on my blog:#coby the capybara#and ralph is just the few newest posts#in case you don't know him either#ralph the platybot#okay its is 11:00 at night and i have an 8:30 class tomorrow#so i should probably take the L and go to bed#but if you have any more ralph headcanons (and/or coby headcanons!!!!!!!!!!)#you should totally hmu in my ask box or the notes or the tags of a reblog or whatever way is easiest#because i already love ralph with my entire soul and i want more ralph content fhskfjsks#look i have an ask
