Hey sorry in advance if it has been asked before but why do show cats have these funny names? Is there a show cat naming law, why havent i seen a cat named mr poop fartington yet
Show cat names have to be entirely unique so breeders have to get creative, usually they want to represent themselves within the name (I don’t think this is a requirement, though? Just standard practice?) which helps a little bit, so you can have Manxzana’s Kiwi and Tailless Beau-T’s Kiwi for example.
Sometimes you’ll have a cat with two cattery names because they’ll be produced by one then sold to another or they’ll be born to a queen of one cattery and the stud will have belonged to another, etc. So in this case you might have Tailless Beau-T’s Kiwi of Manxzana for example.
I don’t know the exact details on the restrictions surrounding registered name requirements beside having to be unique, it does seem to be fairly lenient in subject matter. There’s a champion Persian named Cocaine Cake, I can’t remember out of what cattery though.
There’s presumably a character limit, you probably wouldn’t get away with naming your cat the entire bee movie script for example…

So, can you tell us more about that nightpelt and coalstrike WIP?
With infinite pleasure! The fic will be EOTF-compliant, and will be a series of scenes as Coalstrike grows up. Here's the introduction!
Nightpelt had been in the elder's den for seasons before his kits were born, but when they came, Nightpelt sat by his mate, looking proudly at the dark bundles. He played with all of the Clan kits - he didn't have the endurance of some of the other elders, but he had the energy of a younger warrior. When his own grew, they knew they were important to him (it helped that there were no other kits in the Clan). All of the Clan's kits were, but he was their father. Darkkit, always seeking to be the Clan's leader in their games. Dewkit, always quiet, but uplifting the other kits - Nightpelt wondered if he would be Runningnose's apprentice. Coalkit, excited for each new day, but more excited still to spend time with his parents.
They all had Ashheart's long fur, but Darkkit and Coalkit were both no-moon dark. Coalkit looked more like him every day. He was the smallest of the three, and though his fur was long, it draped rather than fluffed out, making it look more like Nightpelt's, unless you looked at the kit's belly or tail.
Coalkit was also slower, taking more time to join in games and tiring more easily. Nightpelt watched his son with caution, waiting to see if he would develop the same problems with his breathing that Nightpelt had. The elder had suspected that it was a risk, even though none of his kin shared the same problems. Coalkit didn't seem to struggle with his breath, though. None of them did.

Did I mention Rekra has a mom that is pretty well alive and just as cranky, as she is?
This is Okran, tailor and veteran of the first wars against humankind on Azeroth. She brought her little daughter with her through the portal despite the refusal of her leaders and fought side by side with her husband Razug Coalstrike, who later died during the siege of Stormwind. She then laid down her blade to care for her daughter, which was also the reason why she didn’t reunite with her clan brothers on blackrock mountain and instead got captured and thrown into the internment camps by the Alliance. Okran now lives a rather chill life in the Barrens in one of the orcish settlements and produces fabrics for merchants there and in Orgrimmar, not wanting to have anything to do with the battles that her daughter proudly fights. She kept a lot of her strength though and still likes to go hunting from time to time.

Do No Harm vs Pharmageddon
Do No Harm vs Pharmageddon
… is there anything we could be seen to be doing?Henry Cabot Lodge, Sr. to Roosevelt during the coalstrike. There is always pressure in any given situation of discomfort of any kind to do something about it, hence the Hippocratic dictum of “First, do no harm,” is so particularly brilliant, because it addresses that very human urge to want to do something about the situation, with the risk of…

At first I had wanted to kill Coalstrike for what I thought he’d done to Dawncloud but now I want to make sure he gets his name cleared.
EOTF is a story to remind you of limited and biased perspectives for sure ;) some of those examples will be obvious due to them affecting multiple POV characters.... Some won't. Don't trust that these children are getting told the whole truth! They're all just kids - especially Littlepaw as the youngest of all of them, who is also in a Clan that is actively being brainwashed.

shadowclan warrior names
Brokentail was named by Raggedpelt due to his bent tail. Blackfoot was named by Cedarstar for the swiftness of his paws when given a task to complete.
Yellowfang always had a bite to her voice, but she was named by Cedarstar for her fierce skill in fighting and refusal to back down.
Runningnose was named by Yellowfang as a reminder that even medicine cats cannot cure everything.
Toadskip was named by Cedarstar for his agility and silence. Brackenfoot was swifter than any apprentice at the time, and Cedarstar honored that when he became a warrior. Frogtail was named by Cedarstar both for the balance of his skills, and his balance when climbing. Ashheart devoted her heart to her Clan despite being tempted into the life of a kittypet, and Cedarstar honoured her choice with pride. Boulder requested when he joined ShadowClan that he keep the name his mother gave him for his dark grey pelt. Cedarstar obliged. Cedarstar named Scorchwind for his speed. Russetfur's striking red pelt and ticked fur resulted in her being named by Cedarstar for standing out in every border patrol. Rowanberry was named by Cedarstar for being dependable, much like the berries that cured her sickness as a kit. Nutwhisker was named by Cedarstar for his skill at tracking. Wolfstep was named for his agility by Cedarstar. Lichencry was named by Cedarstar for her fierce fighting skills. Cedarstar noticed that Tallpoppy was able to calm even the fussiest kit or apprentice. Brookstep was always incredibly quiet, and Cedarstar named him for that. Clawface was once known as Hawkpaw, but at his warrior ceremony he was renamed by Cedarstar for the collection of scars he acquired fighting for ShadowClan. Flintfang was named by Cedarstar after surviving an infected rat bite, from which a tooth had to be removed from his pelt. Many saw Tangleburr as a kit that would not survive long, but she pulled through and was named by Raggedstar for clinging to life. Deerfoot was named by Raggedstar for his striking white paws and his ability to lead. Cinderfur was named by Raggedstar for his average skill; he struggled as an apprentice and more as a warrior, and only his contrasting name and pelt stood out. Stumpytail was born with a short tail and Raggedstar named him for doing his best despite it. Raggedstar named Applefur for her spotty pelt. Darkflower was named by Raggedstar for being resilient in the face of a challenge. Dewhaze was named by Raggedstar after his stealth. Coalstrike was named by Raggedstar for his stealthy attacks. Pricklestep was named by Brokenstar for her quiet pawsteps.
Featherstorm was once known for her fierce temper and was named by Cedarstar. Brightflower was named by Cedarstar due to her nurturing personality. Newtspeck was named by Cedarstar for her distinctive speckled fur. Cedarstar named Fernshade for her calm demeanor.
Crowtail has exceptional balance, as demonstrated in a battle against WindClan, and was named by Cedarstar for it. Archeye was named by Cedarstar for the distinctive arches over his eyes. Nettlespot's keen sense of smell wasn't even dulled when she fell into a patch of nettles during her last assessment, and was named by Cedarstar for being the "stinging nettle spot" of ShadowClan with her resilience. Poolcloud was named by Cedarstar for the way her pelt looked like the sky on a cloudy day. Cedarstar was proud to grant the name Hollyflower to the kind and gentle she-cat. Nightpelt was named by Cedarstar for his dark pelt and rounded skills.
