On the topic of Tenris and Fa being from different clans

In Spirit Walker, chapter 18, we have this scene:

“ ‘Name your father’s mother,’ said the Leader. 

Torak did. 

The Leader’s lipless mouth tightened. 

Among the Seals, someone caught their breath. 

‘I knew the woman,’ wheezed the Leader. ‘She mated with a Forest man. I never knew that she’d had a son.’ 

‘But how do we know that she did?’ said the Mage without turning his head. ‘How do we know that the boy is who he says he is?’ “

When did Tenris join the Seal clan? How did he get there? How did the Seals not know Torak’s grandmother was Tenris’ mother?? Or do Tenris and Hati only share their father and did their father have two sons with two different Seal women? Did Tenris lie about his parents? How did none of the Seals know Torak and Tenris were related? Why didn’t Tenris say they were? I mean it wouldn’t have made a difference on wether Torak would’ve been sent to the Rock. Also Tenris didn’t know Torak was a spirit walker yet, so he probably just wanted to get rid of him. I guess that explains it. I’m thinking, had Torak been able to name his father, maybe they would have known Tenris was related. How would the story have progressed then?

So here's something I noticed when re-reading CoAD...

This post isn't going to make any sense to people that haven't read chronicles of ancient darkness so... Feel free to scroll on by peeps lol

The 'chronicles of ancient darkness' books are getting a sequal in 2020 called the vipers daughter!! So I decided to get ready by rereading the books and I noticed something interesting in the 'spirit walker' book.

"When she saw the Mage, Renn shrank back. 'Get away from me!' Then she turned to Torak, 'I'm not sick!'

'Tenris is right,' said Bale, gripping the harpoon so hard his knuckles were white. 'My brother was just the same.'"

You'd probably remember that the sickness Bale talks about, that wound up killing his younger brother, was made and controlled by Tenris the Seal mage, who used the kid as a test subject for it. The brother was never really given a character, or even a name, but this part of the book shows a lot about how desperate/clever he was.

Renn knew about Tenris, and apparently, so did Bale's brother. He must've figured it out and tried to explain it to his brother and family, shouted at Tenris to get away from him as Renn did, etc. Considering the Soul Eaters weren't believed to be in the Sea Clans, and that Tenris had an entire hold over the clan in general, putting this realisation together and taking the risk to voice it took a lot of strength and hard thinking. But he still died regardless.

And now I'm low-key crying over this nameless character who must've been /so/

/close/ to survival from his point of view, and the brother that ignored his cries because 'he was sick and Tenris was helping, he wasn't thinking straight' etc.

But also this is a baseless interpretation, I just wanted to scream into the void before the books release and also maybe get the ball rolling with other CoAD fans? What little details did you notice in the books, is my thing just straight up nonsense (probably lol), etc.

Sorry for the long post, I'll go slink back into my hole of books and insanity now 😂
