Our darling Lucas and Alise are on Swan Princess Official's Facebook story today in honor of Easter, ig. It's the scene from A Kingdom of Music where Alise and the contestants visit Lucas's family's tulip farm. Lucas gives them all a flower and "accidentally" (put that in quotes because I can't tell if he did it on purpose or not) gave Li a flower with a broken stem and Li hits everyone with "In my country, broken flowers remind us that we live among broken people" or some bs like that.
Like, srsly, Li, hush. This movie ain't about you. He's not a bad character but gets in the way of the main couple.

(Whatever I'm going to say is just my opinion) I don't get why people even love truth or square so much. They keep on mentioning "Omg truth or square is like such a good episode" but it's really not. And it is supposed to be a Spongebob anniversary special but it felt more like a krusty krab special. Also Bc of truth or square, people now think that spongebob is married to sandy. Like cmon dude that was just a play. But people still won't get over it. And the concept of ep imo was very bland.
Wait you're right and you should say it.
I thought I was the only one who didn't like truth or square either. It was a mess of an episode and felt like "how many things we can do that Stephen Hillenburg didn't approve of in one episode"
It doesn't make sense at all. It starts off with Sponge preparing for the Krusty Krab's elevendy seventh anniversary. Which isn't a real number. I guess its to hide how old the krusty krab is but Krabs has a canon birthday and with watching some episodes, we can take a guess its not that old, but usual plankton comes in interfering to get the secret formula and they spend the whole episode spent in some kind of air vent while reminiscing over memories and events that never happened in the show and none of which would make for interesting backstory.
I'm not talking about the patchy subplot since it was boring. Even as a kid, it felt like it was dragging on and this is coming from someone who liked Patchy's little intros in spongebob specials.
It brought on so many celebrities I don't know. I think I know now but as a child I was confused who are all these strange people. Not to mention Stephen didn't want so many guest celebrities on SB. They didn't respect his wishes. You might say premovie episodes had some celebrities had some bands and guests and stuff but they never took focus from the episodes. Most of them were small bands that don't get much recognition and fit the vibe of the episode (like scaredy pants had the ghastly ones)
Anyways I didn't even know some people liked it but its okay. Everyone has their own opinion and I don't want to discourage people if its something that make them happy. I'm just not a fan.
You're right when you say it felt like a Krusty Krab special. The 20th anniversary episode felt better because it was Spongebob's birthday. It focused on him.
But even as a krusty krab special. It fell pretty flat. Imagine being locked up in a dark room while there's supposed to be a grand event taking place. It's lame.
Their stories are pretty bad. I think the one that was most tolerable was SB moving into his pineapple house because I suspected he wasn't from the bikini bottom because of the episode home sweet pineapple where he mentioned his parents lived out of town.
The SB and Sandy getting married was probably the worst. It only existed to make both sides mad. People who think SB shouldn't be shipped and Spandy shippers. It irks me because Stephen said sandy isn't meant to be in a relationship with SB. She's the only female character in the show snd falling into the clique where the only girl gets with the guy for no reason besides "he was a boy and she was a girl, can I make it any more obvious?" And SB is canon aroace.
Also its shitty to troll fans. There are people who do ship Spandy and it was a bait and switch. I remember the ads for truth or square. Their main selling point was "SB and Sandy get married!!!" To bring in all the shippers to boost the ratings. For what? For it to be a play so it doesn't upset people who don't ship them. Its a slap in the face for both sides.
This episode was so bad and I don't get why it was called truth or square. I'd rather believe any truths it gave us were all square? xD idk
I remember watching it end and patchy saying "I hope you'll join us in SBs 20th anniversary episode! Next time it will be even better!" And I was like "yeah I hope it is" because this was disappointing.
But good news is the 20th anniversary episode was good. I liked that so Patchy kept his promise which is probably the best thing about truth or square.
