Writing Prompt sillies

Fun prompt that I saw and is taking up realestate in my mind:

tw: death, impersonation, identity theft (ITS NOT A JOKE JIM), bad friends, abduction, bad writing

Group is going through something like a puzzle or a fight and one of the characters (we'll go with the sunshine character) gets abducted by the other side.

Group sees them get abducted and can't save them in time before both they and the villain disappear. The villain has one of their sidekicks or minions or side villain (whatever) turn into a mimic of the sunshine character.

Faux-shine returns to the group a little ragged and out of sorts and tells the group they escape and they only mildly note that thats out of character but they are just happy to have them back and don't have to try and go to the villain's fortress.

Months go by, the faux-shine realizes they don't have to try to really act like the sunshine because none of them seem to really know their friend that well. Only in a fight with the villain does the group realize they have a fake. Faux-shine laughs at them saying how dumb they all were. They weren't even trying. And they can't even bother to save their friend because sunshine is dead.

The group on that mission killed that sunshine thinking they were a fake because they only started paying attention to the faux-shine and only know their mannerisms
