Don’t you ever wonder what kind of secrets and plot points Venti keeps hidden? He claims to be the weakest amongst the Seven-and that could be true given his whole 500 year slumber and poison and all- but he’s still a god. AND one of the original Seven. You gotta be good at SOMETHING to survive for this long…
He’s also the only archon so far that doesn’t have a second story quest so what is he hiding?! We have accounts of him literally shaping the land with ease from both the Golden Apple Archipelago events and his character stories. We know that he has close relationships with the Hexenzirkel and somehow managed to avoid conflict with them??? And there’s also the fact from the skyward sword series that he was originally a catalyst user before picking up the bow in honor of Amos. He’s pulling a Childe when it comes to weapons he currently uses and the ones he’s proficient in.
And don’t even get me started on his connection with Istharoth and Celestia! Mondstadt already has the Thousands Winds Temple AND the nameless island where both Venti and Istharoth were once worshipped. And from Before Sun and Moon, we know that the Thousand Winds (which Venti IS A PART OF) were once called the Thousand Winds of TIME, all of whom were created and controlled by Istharoth. AND THEN you have Venti suspiciously appearing in the right place at the right time again and again and again. He even self proclaimed knowing every song: past, present, and future. Hell he’s probably one of the only few beings in Teyvat who can naturally bypass Irminsul because of his songs: Nahida already shown it’s possible to save deleted info if rearranged into fiction so the same should work for songs and poetry. And there’s also what the hydro fungus in Nahida’s second story quest said about changing forms. That you need time for growth to occur. And Nahida - an ARCHON- had trouble maintaining her fungus form for even the short period of time. She was even told that to do so for longer, one would need to bypass time itself which is near impossible. AND YET VENTI CHANGED INTO THE FORM OF HIS FRIEND IMMEDIATELY AFTER RECEIVING HIS GNOSIS AND HAS YET TO CHANGE BACK OR TIRE FROM FATIGUE (as we know it). HOW STRONG IS HE. Sure, the yokai in Inazuma and Adepti in Liyue can all change into a human form, but we know in game that it takes a long time and steady energy to take on a human shape, and the Adepti all seem to have that ability naturally: there’s no bending the laws of nature if it’s already natural to them. So what’s Venti’s excuse?!
As for Celestia: there’s already written in the statue of Barbatos “the gateway to Celestia” and what not. And Khanreia! In the chasm AND in the Caribert quest, Barbatos and Mondstadt keep getting named dropped. According to Dainself, the city in the chasm is supposedly OLDER than Khanreia and possibly the Seven, yet BARBATOS of all beings is mentioned in the records you find??? And in Caribert, it’s a Mondstadtian woman who that one bloke had a child with. Never mind that Mondstadt is where Kaeya and Albedo - the two characters with confirmed Khanreian origins- end up! There’s also the fact that Khanreia seems to base its gods and names and whatever around Norse mythology….which has strong ties to GERMANIC HISTORY. WHICH MONDSTADT IS BASED OFF OF. And Enkanomiya, which was once ruled by Istaroth, is Greek origin. Suspicious considering all the connections to HERMES Venti keeps portraying. (And then there’s also a connection to all three places with the hexenzerkel with their Chinese names? Like I think I read somewhere that Alice is Aries(?)/Eris(?) and Nicole is actually Nike in the Chinese version? Which are very much based in Roman/Greek origins)
Oh and something I forgot to mention earlier with the whole Istharoth connection. Mondstadt’s saying “seeds of stories, brought by the wind, and cultivated through time”. SUSPICIOUS
Anyways, this has been my nonsensical Venti theory rant
And you’re stuck with me @worldsokayestmagicalgirl
#theory rant#seriously this is me typing whatever comes to mind#I have questions and Mihoyo needs to give me answers#this isn’t even everything#mutual lore rant kidnapping#Alyssa and I take turns with the conspiracy boards#genshin impact

Just a Normal Genshin Impact Game Time... Is it?
This SAGAU fanfic was actually created like a year ago (March 15, 2023), but decided to redo this again. This was created during the time I was still Venti-less, so this one was like a story of me trying to cope at that time.
And yes, my latest fanart coincidentally fits this story too! I just stumbled on this back when I tried to scroll on my drafts while waiting for the fanart to be posted.
CW: blood, violence, and murder. Be warned.
You were just playing Genshin Impact on your computer like any other day, just doing the usual stuff you always do every time you login like doing the daily commissions and farming domains to build your characters.
One day, after doing your usual Genshin dallies for the day, you decided to take some scenic pictures with your current team on board and explore Teyvat to look for random chests and hidden quests you may miss. You know, to pass the time and possibly scrounge for primogems to farm for your favorite character.
But as you try to explore the place while trying to find a good spot to take pictures, you couldn't shake the feeling that something is wrong, that something or someone was watching you.
You were confused at first, on why you are feeling like that. But you just shrugged, as you may think you just had too much coffee. After all, you love coffee to the bone.
As you took Kokomi to a scenic place somewhere in Mondstadt, you had noticed something strange that was hidden by a canopy of trees, few meters behind the current character. You squinted a little bit, your eyes still trying to figure out the culprit of your distraction.
There was a figure hidden behind the trees.
------
At first, you mistook it as a rock or something inanimate but you then noticed that it was actually a person when it moved. It was not an NPC or random animal, but an actual playable character. After all, you could recognize that outfit even from afar, as Genshin Impact characters had some unique styles that were fit for their personalities and status.
It was Venti, hiding in a tree from far away, with eyes glaring at you.
Your heart nearly burst out of your chest when you saw him as you quickly exit the camera mode, trying to find some explanation of why he was there, to begin with. Maybe there's an event that he had been with?
You checked the quest menu to check for any Mondstadt-related events that you probably never finished, but to your horror, there was nothing. You looked at some guides online, some clues onto why he was there, that there may be an event from other nations that had him as a guest, but to no avail. You remembered that you already did his story quest and the quests that he was actually involved in-game. Maybe it's a glitch?
With a shaky grip, you closed the quest menu and stared at the same spot again. Venti was still there behind the tree, watching you with soulless eyes.
You were shaking in fear as you were also staring at him.
As you were still frozen on your seat, trying to make sense of everything, the figure dressed as Venti suddenly pointing something at your Kokomi, his soulless eyes still looking at your terrified ones, like he was a rabid dog vying for attention.
You suddenly recognized what he was trying to do. He was pointing out his former signature weapon, the iconic Skyward Harp, at you.
"Wait, isn't the Elegy of the End his new signature weapon?" You muttered out as your mind had tried to remember about Venti. You were a fan of him, so it would be in your forte to remember every single detail about him.
You remember that even his weapon was already changed to Elegy of the End during his consecutive reruns due to the new bow fits his kit than Skyward Harp, the latter was still his signature weapon in lore.
In the corner of your eye, you noticed something weird once again, this time on the map.
Apparently, the map shows you that there is a second player on the map, and that player was near your vicinity. You widened your eyes as you remembered that you didn't do any co-op with a Venti main recently and you don't even have a Venti. And to your horror, even your co-op mode wasn't even turned on!
------
You had remembered that you always wanted Venti, but due to your impatient nature, you had decided to build pity and accidentally won Kokomi twice on the last day of her banner. You got C1 Kokomi instead.
Unfortunately, Venti's banner was next and you regretted that he never came home. You had lost your 50/50 to your very first Qiqi at 75 pulls... At the end of his rerun banner.
...this is weird and unsettling, so you decided to quit the game, but to your horror, you can't even access the damned menu, soft locking you out.
As you saw Venti's creepy smile while he was sadistically hitting your main team with his anemo-infused arrows, you were horrified at what happened next.
You watched your entire team being stabbed by his arrows, blood splattering on the screen like a grotesque painting, and your current team crying for mercy and help as they were hit by the arrows the Anemo Archon in disguise had been aiming at them and they were frozen in spot because of some twisted form of code that the game had, instead of them doing their usual lines while being on low HP or fallen down. And you couldn't even make them run by pressing the buttons to move the character you currently have because you're frozen in fear as you saw the character pleading for you to make them run away from the crazed fellow using your keyboard and mouse but you didn't. You didn't even help them survive.
You remembered that characters that had fallen down were supposed to turn into glowing white dust instead of this... bloody mess you were witnessing.
This isn't right!
It was like you were playing a horror game rather than a simple open-world RPG game.
Then while the carnage was happening, there is an in-game text that was showing up while this is happening, of Venti still happily singing his ballads while doing the unthinkable. As if he was gleefully watching you squirm.
You couldn't help but close the game in a blink of an eye after you witnessed the scene by trying to turn off the computer and decided to never touch the game again. Thankfully, your computer turned off, but it had left you traumatized.
You decided to uninstall the game after rebooting the computer. The usual uninstall window had appeared with a picture of a chibified Amber crying showed up and a message about asking if you were really uninstalling the app, as if beckoning you not to delete the game, but you insisted and still pressed the uninstall button.
You decided to leave your room while leaving the computer to do its duty to uninstall the cursed stuff, but after you went outside for some fresh air, the uninstall window that was supposed to show a chibified Klee signifying the game had been uninstalled, glitched for a second.
Venti's creepy smile was seen in a split second on the entirety of the computer screen instead of the window with Klee, with some words written in glitchy Teyvatian language then in glitchy English that was flickering in the screen before it turns normal once again.

CONGRATS!! I’m happy that your page is getting recognized, because it’s such a comfort page for me. Also yes, it is me from the Childe Question/Wriothsley idea.
Anyways, my ask behind it, is if SSKK (Atsushi and Akutagawa) and Lucy came alone with a Female reader. I want to say teen, but later teen, like 15-17. Not yet an adult, but also not a young teen. I also want to probably have the reader be just as protective of them as they are her, since they mean the world to them.
Thank you very much for writing it. And once again, congrats!!
Thank you, I am happy, that my fics are comforting to you 😊
If you weren't alone
Part IV
Characters: Self-Aware! Platonic! Atsushi Nakajima, Self-Aware! Platonic! Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Self-Aware! Platonic! Lucy Maud Montgomery
Reader: Fem! 17! Reader
Warning: English is my second language
🐯🧥☕ Last few days were terrible. First, Atsushi, Lucy, Akutagawa and you were transported to the Wolvendom. Second, you do not have your phone and have no idea, how to contact the rest of BSD Cast. Third, landing was harsh, causing you to hurt your ankle. Thankfully, you did not hurt it too much, but Atsushi insisted on you not moving, until your leg healed. Of course, you cannot just camp in the wilderness for next few days. Monsters were not a problem (Akutagawa did not like, when that Rifthound Whelp got too interested in your company, but you must find a way home. However, Lucy quickly found a solution.
Atsushi, Akutagawa and Lucy went to Mondstadt, while you were staying in Annie’s room, with Annie keeping your company. You were not very fond of the idea of staying in safe place, while your friends are facing Teyvat’s monsters. However, you do understand that with your leg you cannot do much to help.
🐯🧥☕ They arrived at Mondstadt at night. It seems that no one was sleeping. Knights and normal citizens were searching for something. Or someone.
They immediately find the reason for all the commotion. There was hundreds of wanted posters with your face on it. In addition, with strange text.
“IMPOSTER AMONG US! Dirty Sinner dared to wear the face of our beloved Creator! By an order of Their Holiness and Blessed Acolytes, capture it! Made them pay for its crimes! Bring it to an Ivory Throne. Alive!”
Trio were shocked. Thousands of questions rushed through their minds.
‘Creator?’ ‘Imposter?’ ‘Sinner?’ ‘Crimes?’
What is happening? It does not make any sense!
Then Lucy noticed something under the main text. Something written in a small font.
Lucy felt her5 mouth became dry. She whispered.
“Prices… For [Y/N]’s body parts. Creator ordered to bring them to her.”
Rashoumon’s blade tore the poster from the wall, leaving claw like marks on the wall. In less, than a second, paper was tore apart with draconic fags. Atsushi nervously looked around, but, luckily, no one noticed Akutagawa’s outburst. And anxiety were replaced with anger.
You were in danger. A good person was in danger, blamed for something they didn’t do. You, the best person in the world, were in danger.
Lucy, knowing, that both males were close to do something drastic. Dazai’s training were paying off. Lucy herself wanted to let Annie play with few of this “blessed acolytes” (no one would get away with threating her friend), but it wasn’t the right place or time.
“Let’s get out of here”
Trio left the city unnoticed. On their way, Atsushi took one more poster with him.
🐯🧥☕ You thought, that after trio reached Mondstadt, Lucy would call for you to leave Annie's room. You didn't expect trio appeared in Annie's room instead. You also didn't expect Atsushi, Lucy and Akutagawa looking worried and angry at the same time.
Did something happen? Atsushi was clutching some sort of paper in his hands. Atsushi looked down, then up, then hold the paper towards you. It takes you a few minutes to read through it. With each word, you felt worse and worse. You can't even joke about chosen words. You were horrified.
Lucy's voice was soft.
"[Y/N]... I think, you should stay here with Annie. To be safe."
You raised your head, looking shocked. The poster fall from your hands, where it was caught by Rashomon's jaws and torn apart.
Lucy had a point, she does. But what if something happened to Atsushi, Akutagawa and Lucy while you stay here, protected? You wanted to protest, but, before you can open your mouth, Akutagawa stepped closer and grabbed your shoulders. He knew you good enough to knew what you wanted to say.
"No, [Y/N], you will stay here. We want to protect you, and this way we can protect you the best."
Akutagawa's eyes slightly soften.
"I knew, that you are worried about us. But, we won't be in danger. These idiots won't care about us. Brainless bastards, like a herd of sheep, will follow this rotten shepherd's command. Please, trust us."
Atsushi stepped next to Akutagawa, ignoring his harsh glances.
"[Y/N], I promise, we will be careful. Please, stay here."
Reluctantly, you agreed.
🐯🧥☕ For some time, plan worked. People of Mondstadt were more interested in finding you, than paying attention to three outlanders. At least, until Albedo saw them.
These days, Albedo didn't pay attention to anything strange. He is more concerned of So-Called Creator's attention towards Klee and Alice. Godly brat was spoiled, had a temper and, unfortunately, was smart. The girl on the Ivory Throne, near whom Albedo felt a stench of rotten flesh, was ruthless about another 'Imposter'. Albedo felt rage. This poor girl wasn't the first 'imposter', and, Albedo was afraid, not the last.
And all of them would face the same fate...
That's when Albedo saw Lucy, Atsushi and Akutagawa. He remembered, how Alice showed photos of this people to him and Klee, after coming back from one of her otherworldly trips.
Albedo took few steps towards trio. And felt it. Warmth.
Warmth, that Albedo could only call as godly, were coming from trio.
Albedo must act fast.
🐯🧥☕It took alchemist multiple attempts to reassure Atsushi, Akutagawa and Lucy to come with him. In his lab on Dragonspine, you finally left Annie's room for the first time in days. Albedo checked your ankle and finally explained, what the whole "Imposter" situation were about.
He also explained, how you can return home.
According to Albedo, Alice was your only hope. Aether and Lumine were loyal to 'Creator'. And Albedo doubt, that they would even let you explain, that you aren't imposter, have no intent to stay here and just want to go home.
But Alice was forced by False Creator to travel from nation to nation, staying on one place for few days, and currently was on her way to Sumeru and, if she suddenly return to Mondstadt, it would be suspicious. So, you four could either try to chase after her, or stay in Mondstadt and wait for Alice's return. You were relatively safe, thanks to Lucy.
You four decided to stay in Mondstadt. You still feel bad for staying in safe Annie's room, while Atsushi, Akutagawa and Lucy were facing against Teyvat's monsters. But, once again, others insisted on you staying with Annie.
🐯🧥☕ For a few days, everything was fine. Until "Creator" visited Mondstadt. People were cheering, when her carriage was going through streets of Mondstadt. That's when she noticed Lucy, Akutagawa and Atsushi, who were picking up groceries.
She wasn't native to Teyvat. She knew who they were. And she knew, that you must be near.
Before the end of the day, three more wanted posters were hanging alongside yours.
🐯🧥☕ Now four of you were on a run. You refused to stay in Annie's room. You were running alongside your friends. You were fighting alongside your friends. You were fighting your way through seven nations (Bennett, Razor and Fischl helped you find a good bat), chasing after Alice. Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan, Snezhnaya...
And, before you could return to Mondstadt, you were attacked once again. This time, by your exact double.
🐯🧥☕ She was sure, that Atsushi, Akutagawa and Lucy won't dare to attack her. That they won't attack someone, who looked like their dearest friend. She was mistaken. She may look like you. But everything in her was fake. She was a fake. A disgusting fake, who was reeking of rotten meat.
Atsushi, in his tiger form, sank his fangs into her arm. Rotten, stale blood flow down his mouth.
She screamed and raised her free hand. She was holding a dagger.
Before "Creator" could plunge it into Atsushi, you hit her arm with your trusty bat.
You also had no reason not to hurt someone, who was hurting your friends.
During your battle (Atsushi Nakajima, Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Lucy Maud Montgomery and [Y/N] [L/N] against "Creator" and Holly Knights /some troopers from mililith, knights of Favonius and Fatui/) your emotions, your anger reached their peak.
The portal opened under your feet.
_____
💉💰 Mori and Francis were rechecking last messages they got from others. Still, no news about your whereabouts. After quick discussion, both Mori and Francis decided to check the forest again. On their way, they heard loud noise coming from the barn.
They hurried there.
🐯🧥☕ You four were here. Tried, with scratch and bruises. But, mostly, unharmed. But, the most shocking sight, was Akutagawa, who was holding your exact double with his Rashomon. Black strips were holding her by her arms and legs. After taking a second look, Francis and Mori saw, that your double looked off. Her clothes, while looking expensive, looked tasteless, her face looked fake, her body looked fake.
And, if the angry looks, that Akutagawa, Atsushi, Lucy and you were casting towards her indicate something, she must have done something horrible.
But it can wait. For now, you four need rest. You can finally stop worrying. You four finally were safe.

𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐌𝐘 𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄 !
ෆ sypnosis. you find yourself in a situation where a man is giving you unwanted attention / tries to flirt with you. your lover finds out about this and comes to your rescue; what will he do and how will he react?
ෆ note. uhmmm this draft was rottjng and i finally decided to finish it today oopssss . not entirely proof read !
ෆ tags. kaeya, ayato, cyno x female reader (seperately). fluff. all chara’s are protective / possessive however you want to see it, unwanted flirting / verbal harassment but nothing too bad, you’re ayato’s wife in his part. headcanons + drabbles.
KAEYA ALBERICH.
keeps his emotions in check. if kaeya sees a man openly flirting with you, he’ll definitely fake a smile when approaching the two of you. not his usual, soft smile; more of an empty one.
the type to give (not so) subtle hints to the person flirting with you that you’re taken; like, he will not say anything directly to the other person about their behaviour, however he will keep it lowkey (and maybe passive aggressive).
and best believe he’s trying his best not to cause a scene and fight anyone if they make you uncomfortable by overly flirting with you. any type of discomfort coming from his lover is a green light for him to use his position as the cavalry captain and the power that it comes with.
you awkwardly shift in your seat at the bar counter as a drunk man keeps on talking to you even when you’ve politely told him that you’re not interested.
your boyfriend, kaeya, had stepped out of the bar for just a second to talk to one of his colleagues. that’s when the random man—who introduced himself as bruce—decided to take his chance.
you fiddle with your clothes as you await your lover’s return. kaeya usually asks his brother to take care of you when he’s not around at the tavern, however diluc wasn’t there to prevent this situation from unfolding either.
“you seem to be getting a bit too drunk, lad.”
a familiar voice causes you to turn your body to the right. there he is: kaeya, standing behind you with his hand on bruce’s shoulder. if you looked closely, you’d notice how firm of a grip kaeya had on the drunken man—the fabric of his clothes wrinkled underneath kaeya’s palm.
“h-kaeya—that you, buddy?” bruce laughs wholeheartedly, his words slurring a little, “i gotta say, ya got quite a pretty thing with you!”
a breathy chuckle escaped kaeya’s lips. it wasn’t an amused or humorous chuckle, but rather one that sounded like his patience was running low.
“mhm, that so?” kaeya subtly gestures to the knight that had accompanied him inside the bar.
the young knight understands and nods at his captain. the knight walks towards bruce, holding the drunkard by his arm and forcing him to stand up straight.
“say, bruce,” kaeya starts, sighing softly as he put his hands in his pockets before bending his head down to whisper his next words into the man’s ear; “i may have been a bit too lenient with you. i’ll see you later in my office, yeah?”
kaeya says all of that with a smile as he straightens his back again. you (and probably many of the wrongdoers in mondstadt who were unlucky enough to experience kaeya’s hidden wrath) knew that empty smile all too well. one that you see when you know you’ve messed up.
bruce was too drunk to even realise what was implied as he was escorted out of the tavern by the knight.
kaeya sighs to himself before turning to you with a genuine, worried smile; “i’m extremely sorry, sweetheart. i should’ve stayed with you.”
you smile at your lover and shake your head, “it’s fine, kaeya. thank you for being there for me anyway.”
the cavalry captain frowns at his own ignorance; he should known some creep would hit on you while he was gone. it was a dangerous decision of him to leave you in a bar between all kinds of impolite, loud and drunk men.
“may i hug you?” kaeya adds quietly, eyes searching for yours as if asking for permission. his reason for asking for your consent, is because he thought you’d might be uncomfortable with any type of close proximity after that encounter with bruce.
“of course, babe.” you nod.
kaeya opens his arms as an invitation for you to get into his embrace. you instantly hug him back, laying your head against his chest. his heartbeat was steady and his dainty fingers were immediately caressing your back in a comforting manner.
“if anything like that ever happens again, you call out for me, alright? i’ll make sure to keep you safe. no matter where you might be.”
KAMISATO AYATO.
gets big mad, like.. mad mad, but like on the inside. he’s the head of his clan-of course he has dealt with rude people before- however none of those experiences included you being verbally harassed by a stranger.
ayato will probably not lash out at the man (especially not in front of you); he has his own ways of putting rude people in their place. many being.. torturous. to him it’s justified: whoever messes with his wife, messes with him.
will not show you how much he wishes he could act out of line. although, ayato knows well enough what his limits are. direct violence isn’t going to solve anything, but maybe threats will.
ayato was coming home soon from his business trip which is why you decided to wait on him outside of the kamisato estate. you were dressed up nicely and had proudly prepared him his favourite dishes for the first time in a while. all set to greet your dear husband.
what you didn’t expect to see, was a random adventurer climbing up the stairs near the estate. the man shamelessly looked you up and down before asking you for nearby directions. you didn’t think much about it and gave him the needed information.
thinking your duty there was done, you walked back to the entrance of the estate so you could await your husband’s arrival inside the building. it was getting a bit chilly anyway.
“oh, ma’am! can you at least tell me your name?” the voice echoes behind you. you felt a cold hand brush against yours and it almost made you freeze on spot. you flinched and took your hand away, frowning as you look back at the stranger.
there were maids cleaning around the courtyard and they noticed the scene unfolding in front of their eyes. they instantly sensed your uneasiness and rushed to your rescue—circling the man and telling him that this area is off limits for strangers. this causes a constant back and forth squabble between the man and the servants, who were simply trying to do their job: protecting the young master’s wife when he isn’t near.
“move.”
ayato’s sudden appearance and sharp voice shuts everyone up. his maids and servants immediately stand straight and then move to bow at their master— heads held low out of respect, yet also out of fear for his wrath. you might not have noticed it, but his servants have known him since he was a child and thus can easily spot the (hidden) dangerous aura ayato emitted.
“ah, ayato !” you smile in relief at your husband and give him a small wave. he, however, seemed rather tense as he walked over to you—eyes scanning your body for any signs of discomfort. ayato’s gloved hands immediately cup your face once he is close enough, “are you okay, sweetheart?”
“yes, i am. thank you.” you reply, his hands gently touching your cheeks were a complete opposite to the anger boiling up inside of him. ayato places a soft kiss to your forehead in hopes to calm your nerves, as if to say ‘you’re safe, i’m here now’.
“escort her to her room.” your husband orders the two maids standing next to you and they instantly do as told. before you got taken away from him, ayato flashes you his usual charming smile, the corners of his eyes crinkling, “i’ll be there with you soon, honey. i’ll just see this man out.”
once you were out of sight, that smile of ayato’s instantly vanished and got replaced by a cold, piercing expression. he turned towards the unknown man who was now cuffed by two guards;
“now then, shall we go talk outside of the estate for a bit? the maids have cleaned the garden rather thoroughly today and i do not wish to let their hard work go to waste by my… well, disciplining.”
CYNO.
appears out of thin air to defend you. you might even start to question if he’s secretly following you everywhere, because cyno does not fail to show up whenever you are in any kind of trouble.
probably also (temporarily) arrests whoever bothers you. he does that instead of literally beating them up to a pulp. it’s easier and avoids further trouble after all. though, cyno doesn’t arrest them without giving them a proper ‘punishment’ of his own.
has no time to beat around the bush— he’s direct when approaching the person who’s bothering you.
you were walking around the marketplace with only one goal in mind: getting the needed ingredients for the dish you wanted to prepare tonight. the streets were crowded, chatter and negotiations filling your ears as you stopped near a fruit and vegetables stall.
“can i get 2 kilograms of zaytun, please?” you ask the vendor, fishing your wallet from your pocket already. you exchanged the bag of food with a couple of mora and bid the owner of the stall farewell.
you were too busy inspecting the contents of the bag and therefore bumped into a tall guy. you excuse yourself, however that didn’t seem enough for the man, “hey, hold on there, pretty thing.”
a sigh escapes your lips as you know where the conversation would go; he’ll most likely ask you for compensation for bumping into him. you turned around to face the stranger again, a fake smile plastered on your face, “what is it, sir?”
the man hums as he studies your looks. he’s trying very hard to be very intimidating by staring down at you—hands in his pockets with a smirk tugging at his lips, “ya know, i think i’m gonna ask for another type of compensation from y… ou..”
you raise an eyebrow once you notice his voice trailing off until he’s completely silent; eyes wide and smirk wiped off his face like he’s seen a ghost. you decide to follow the way the man’s eyes were looking—that place being right behind you.
“cyno?!” you almost jump from surprise yourself the moment you come face to face with your lover whom had appeared from out of nowhere. there was a purple-ish glow surrounding his body, sparks from his electro vision making him seem even more terrifying—not to include the death stare the mahamatra was giving to the stranger.
there were no words coming out of your lover. he was silently glaring at the man who bothered you and his piercing gaze was no joke. cyno was finally about to open his mouth to talk, however the upcoming words were never uttered as the stranger interrupted him;
“i— uhh, i’m sorry.” the dark-haired man sheepishly apologises and takes a few steps back, clearly intimidated. cyno was not going to let him get away so easily. though, firsts things first: your lover had to check up on you.
“the bastard didn’t touch you or anything, right?” cyno asks you, brushing some strands of hair from your face, “if he did, make sure to tell me. i won’t show him any mercy.”
you shake your head and gulp a bit. even when you’ve seen cyno in action so many times before, his presence never fails to impress you. “he didn’t,” you answer quietly, to which cyno nods.
“good.” your lover hums before letting his arm fall to his side again. he gives you a small, reassuring smile and pats your back, “you can go ahead. i’ll see you at home.”
you were not about to argue with cyno when he was in that state and thus continue on with your little stroll.
little did you know that that stranger was in danger.

Stranger Danger~ {Genshin x Reader} Teyavat Chapter 15 - Artifact farming with Klee
You groaned. "What the fuck. They seriously locked me inside my own fucking room? Paimon, you little mf."
Let's just say that Paimon and Jean decided that you should return back since your anemo energy was pretty much depleted. Were you annoyed? Yeah. You seriously wanted to cook some emergency food.
Hell, Aether was like, "Y/N, stay there ok? You'll get kidnapped or some shit." Aaaand he locked the fucking door.
"Blub Blub." Bob and Bobetta stared at you confused.
"Hush. It's not like ya'll can help me open the-... BOBETTA?!" You screeched.
Bobetta's innocent eyes blinked. She didn't look so innocent next to what's left of the door though.
You gaped at the ashes. "YOU BURNED DOWN THE FUCKING DOOR?"
"I-I- Oh whatever, you're a fucking pyro slime. The fuck was I expecting?" You pressed your temples.
"Bob, Bobetta, come on, I seriously need to spend some money right now."
-.-.-
(Earth)
"Yvonne. Is everything done?"
"Yeah, Lorelei's gonna pay for the food and stuff. I'm still trying to get a helicopter though. I think the rich people are getting a hang on what's happening."
Yeleris frowned. "That won't do, we need at least one helicopter, I'm not going to be stuck in a car when the Apocalypse starts."
Lorelie rolled her eyes, "Why would you even want to go out when it starts? It's sooo stupid. Like girl?"
"You don't understand, I need to record what's going to happen in the early stages. You know how the Apocalypse in this world is basically a defense system on Earth against destructive elements like humans. We don't even know what form of Apocalypse it is."
"So? It's not the first Apocalypse themed world. It's always zombies, or shitty weather, or both, or some, I don't know, random ass supernatural shit." Yvonne muttered.
"We can just throw some surveillance cameras around the city. I'd much rather lounge at home you know?"
Lorelie poked your face. "When is Y/N going to wake up? It's my first time seeing a person inside a contaminated world get picked to become a player you know? Hopefully she doesn't die in Teyvat. That wouldn't be very fun."
"It's probably a system bug. I mean, I've never seen a player that's originally from a contaminated world and their original body didn't go with them to their assigned world. That's like- eughhh." Yvonne checked your pulse. "She's still alive at least. Time passes differently in each world, she might stop breathing any second you know?"
"You're talking as if we're gonna let her die." Lorelei grumbled, closing the door behind her.
"You guys had to choose this place? I got fucking lost trying to find it."
"What? I'm not going to pick a place near the city center. What if it's a zombie apocalyptic world? They're ugly and smelly lil shits." Yeleris hissed.
"Eugh. You and your stupid OCD shit."
"I DON'T HAVE OCD."
"Yeaaaaaa, totallyyy."
-.-.-
(Mondstadt City)
"Blub Blub?"
Bob spewed cold air all over your face. "Blub blub blub?" You hissed holding your head. For a second, you swore that you heard the voices of your dorm mates.
"Are you ok pretty sister?" Klee asked. Her large eyes staring into yours.
"Yeah... Wait! What are you doing here?"
"Ehehe Klee couldn't resist fish bombing. Aaaand, big brother Kaeya saw me so Klee ran away..."
You raised a brow, "Klee, there's barely any fish left. Do you know how mad Jean is going to be?"
Klee rubbed her little hands, "Klee...Aha! Klee will say that it's the water thingies that killed the fish!"
"...Whatever make you happy Klee. Aren't you going to find Albedo?" You asked, not noticing the male.
Klee sighed softly, "Albedo is experimenting with the sample you gave Jean. He wouldn't let me play with him. Klee is sooo boreeeddd..." She hugged your waist. "Big sister Y/N, can we please g play? Pleasssse. Klee will make you some Dodocos! We can match!"
Rubbing her fluffy hair, you nodded. "Klee, do you want to help me with farming?"
The loli tilted her head, "Farm? Big sister farms? Like, plants?"
"No Klee. I mean artifact farming."
"Arty- facts? Hmmmm, it's those trinkets right?! Klee has quite a few! Klee can give you some!" Just like that, a bunch of five-star artifacts appeared in her arms.
"Big sister can take everything!" Klee giggled at your dumbfounded expression.
You breathed in and out slowly, opening your mouth hesitantly. "K-Klee. Did you farm these yourself or was it one of your big sisters and brothers?"
Klee blinked. "Oh! Klee was testing out one of Klee's new prototypes and big brother Albedo told Klee to go into a- umm, doymin, ummm, domain! We were in Liyue gathering materials for his potions so Klee went to the nearest domain. I think it's called the Domain of Blessing? Yeah! There were lots of pyro slimes so Albedo had to help me out with that one. Klee has also done a lot of other domains but the arty-facts there aren't as good so Klee just gives them away as presents!"
"W-well, Klee, do you want to go with me to farm artifacts?"
"Sure!!! Will Bob and Bobetta come with us?!"
"Yeah... Why not...". You needed Bob to help defeat the pyro slimes, Bobetta being a pyro slime could probably also help confuse the slimes.
-.-.-
(Valley of Remembrance)
"Klee, are you absolutely sure you want to try this level?" You gaped as the girl hopped to the lvl 90 door.
"It's fine big sister! Klee has done it sooo many times with big sister Sucrose!" She laughed. "My Hydro version of Dodoco was created with the help of Sucrose after fighting the pyro slimes! Klee couldn't do anything with the pyro Dodoco!"
"Wait- you have a hydro version of Dodoco?" You raised a brow. If Klee could create different types of bombs, Klee's overall power would be increased significantly, perhaps she could become the second Alice.
"Yeah! Klee also has a cryo and geo version. Klee will create more versions if big brother Albedo and big sister Jean allows!"
You nodded, "Let's go Klee."
And with that, the two of you were sucked into the darkness. How could you describe it? It's like someone being in a vacuum, except it didn't feel uncomfortable, in contrast, it felt quite nice.
"There you are!" Klee smiled happily, handing you a blue Dodoco. "Hi Bobetta! Hi Bob! Klee would give you one too but there's not a lot. Klee will give you some next time we go arty-fact farming!"
She snickered softly at your awed gaze. "It's your first time in an arty-fact domain right! It's really beautiful! Klee was sooo surprised on her first time too! You see that big red key in the middle of the platform? Just put your hand on it! The slimes will spawn after a few seconds. Just in time for Klee to place the Dodocos!"
It didn't take too long for you to truly acknowledge just how overpowered Klee is.
"BLUB BLUB BLUB BLUBBB!" Bob and Bobetta screeched. Their normal blub blubs were gone, the high pitched blubs that came out of their... mouths? Yeah, never heard of. From their animated expressions, you could see just how shaken they were.
What happened a few seconds before was that the moment the pyro slimes showed up, the hydro Dodocos exploded, so now, there's a bunch of slime fragments littered everywhere.
"BLUUUUB BLUUUUB." Bobetta shrieked as Klee scooped her up out of curiosity. No wonder, you would be scared to death if you saw a bunch of humans explode right in front of you and the person that caused it casually scoops you up.
"Wooowwww, Klee never knew slimes could make this expression. It's so cute!" Her eyes turned into crescent moons, squishing the orange blob.
Bob bounced behind you, his eyes gazing fearfully at Klee. "BLUB!" Bobetta's eyes welled with tears, staring into yours. If slimes could talk Bobetta would probably be cussing and screaming to get out of Klee's arms.
"Klee sweetie, let's go get the artifacts." you said sighing, plucking the teary eyed Bobetta out of her arms.
"Awwww, ok!"
"...You are fuc- Fudging kidding me. YOU GOT ALL CRITS AND I GET DEFS? KLEE I DEMAND ANOTHER ROUND. AND YOU GOT TWO FIVE- STARS? WHAT?!"

I'm bored, random crossover time again
Recently I have gotten into a little shooter game known as Ultrakill.
For those who don't know: Ultrakill is basically a shooter game that combines elements from Titanfall, Doom Eternal, Devil May Cry, etc. You play as V1, a literal blood-powered combat robot that descends into Hell (from Dante's Inferno) to get more blood. On the way, you fight demons, angels, and other machines.
So? With my blog basically sporadically alive, let me revive it with another nonsensical crossover!
Gender neutral reader
SPOILERS AHEAD!
How these two games crossed over:
So you own both a PC and a phone/tablet. You would mostly play Genshin Impact on your mobile device while you played Ultrakill on your PC.
You've managed to complete both games and right now you tried obtaining all the alternate 'slab' weapons in Ultrakill. You have one already, simply called the slab revolver by many. Your next weapon to obtain is the sawblade launcher, located in stage 4-4 Clair de Soleil.
So, you did so. Whiplashing the blue skull from the right room after you used the first jump pad, the door opened and you shot your railcannon into the water. However, when you did so, the game decided to crash on you.
"What the hell??" You said before grumbling a little and trying to boot the game back up to no avail. Closing out the game, you bothered to play a little Genshin. However, within a few seconds of booting up the game, you got shocked and blacked out.
How you got to Teyvat:
After waking up, you found yourself in a plains area... and then you saw an anemo slime.
"Hey, you. You're finally awake." A voice that sounded like Microsoft Sam said from behind you.
(V1's voice from this program)
Turning around, you were greeted by the blue camera head himself.
"What the frick V1 how are you here??"
"I don't fucking know, one moment I touched the sawblade launcher, and now I'm here in what appears to be Limbo but not fake with the human who basically assisted me in murdering all of hell for blood. By the way, you perform really great shotgun yeets!*"
"Uh, thanks." You awkwardly responded.
"Now where the fuck can I get some blood?"
In Mondstadt:
The two of you ended up wandering around V1 had managed to kill a few wild animals for blood with his revolver. It didn't take long for someone to hear the sounds and approach you two afterward.
"You two! Stop right there!" Amber heard the sounds of V1's revolver shots as she ran towards you two. If it weren't for you rapidly telling V1 to not shoot her, she'd likely be on the floor in a pool of her own blood.
"...Hi there." You awkwardly said before she ended up tackling you to the ground in a hug with V1 just looking at the sight.
After Amber took you two to Mondstadt, word spread quickly of the Divine One and their blue angel-looking machine. The two of you managed to receive free housing with the Knights of Favonius alongside a tour of the city.
V1 abused his superior mobility to cross the entire city from one side to the other in less than a minute. This astonished the local citizens at this strange individual's movement skills. And then he accidentally crashes into a random citizen's cart.
"WHEEEEEEEEEEE"
"V1 don't you're gonna-!"
V1 crashes into a cart full of cabbages, toppling it
"..."
Everyone's also confused at his ability to seemingly generate coins... before shooting at them with that curved thing he holds in his hands and then it kills stuff. (I presume that most Mondstatians have never seen guns, the closest they have seen is probably a bow,)
Then he somehow pulls a giant double-barreled minigun?? Then a tube that shoots rockets??
Expect Klee to be all over him.
"Well see, this rocket launcher used to be an industrial tool, until some-"
"HOW BIG OF A BOOM CAN IT MAKE?!"
"...Let me demonstrate!"
V1 activated the freeze mode on his Freezeframe Rocket Launcher and fired a few rockets at a group of wolves...
...Safe to say, those wolves and their surroundings got blown up to high hell.
When Jean found the destructive duo, V1 just took Klee into his arms and proceeded to abuse his mobility yet again.
"BOING! Catch me now, bozo!"
"Get back here you blue thing-"
"I am not a blue thing thank you- BOING!"
Looking past shenanigans, Albedo and Sucrose have taken an interest in V1's lethal arsenal that's even far superior to Fatui tech. Noelle might ask to train with the machine after some introductions.
In Liyue
After a few days of staying in Mondstadt, you kinda wanted to see Liyue so you told everyone else and asked V1 to accompany you. Upon arrival though, you found out that Liyue prepared a celebration for the two of you. Turns out news can leak out quickly to the world even if you've only interacted with a part of it.
V1 found Liyue significantly more fun to traverse and navigate around. From mountainous marvels to spacious streets, the nation provided him with no short of tricks to pull off.
Everyone interacted with V1 normally until he started using the Whiplash to grab items from various vendors merely flipping a few coins at them in return. This led to a scuffle with the Millelith and he ended up shocking everyone by knocking all of the soldiers out with a mere punch to their chest.
Thankfully you managed to calm him down.
When he saw the Jade Chamber, he made it a personal challenge to ascend without using the proper way. He unfortunately did so while Ningguang was pleasantly talking with you.
"This, your grace, is-" You could then faintly hear rocket sounds in the distance, with Ningguang following suit shortly after. You both turned in the direction of the sound to see V1 flying on a rocket with his Freezeframe Rocket Launcher yet again before he jumped off and landed right next to the two of you.
"Hi friend I'm back! Mechanic abuse is funny!"
Ningguang just blinked at the sight of the combat machine that somehow stood on a small flying object to get up here without proper authorization. "...Your grace what the heck did that thing just do??"
"I AM NOT A THING-"
Part 2?
*Shotgun yeets refer to projectile boosts.

“Will you be back?” Jean asks.
She’s sitting straight-backed on Lisa’s bed with her hands folded in her lap, her hair plaited tightly along her skull in preparation for training. She looks ill at ease, as she does often these days — the inescapable consequence of clawing her way out from under her mother’s shadow, trying to refit her skin to the role of an infantry captain, navigating the unwanted attention that comes from being 16 but looking older.
“Oh, probably,” Lisa says, and watches Jean’s face go blank like it does when she’s trying not to show that she’s upset.
It’s a little cruel, her flippant answer. She should feel guiltier about it, maybe reassure her best friend that she’ll be back as soon as she’s able.
But Lisa has ambitions, gods forgive her: dreams bigger than sleepy Mondstadt and its placid people. If Jean loves her — which she does, Lisa knows this without asking — then she’ll have to let her go.
“But you’ll write,” Jean says, sounding uncertain.
“I’ll do my best,” Lisa says. She does feel guilty, this time — Jean’s stoic silence does nothing to hide her disappointment. “I hear the Akademiya’s workload is intense. But I’ll try.”
“You can handle it,” Jean says, with a faith that borders on fealty. “You’re brilliant, Lisa.”
Lisa grins. She is brilliant — she knows this well. It is the one thing she has going for her: she is not charming like Diluc, funny like Kaeya, or diligent, courageous, and radiant like Jean. But the Akademiya had sought her out for her mind, even though, at 18, she is much older than the vast majority of novices scouted from outside Sumeru.
Lisa is smart. She doesn’t intend to squander that.
“You’re too kind,” she says, throwing one last cardigan into her suitcase and then kneeling on it to zip it up. In a flash, Jean is on the floor in front of her, long swordsman’s fingers pressed to the top of the suitcase as she reaches for the zipper on the other end. Together, they wrangle the suitcase shut.
Lisa looks down to grin triumphantly towards where Jean is kneeling before her. They are very close, like this, Jean’s face tilted up towards her own. If Lisa were to lean forward just a little, she could—
Jean stands abruptly. She extends a hand to pull Lisa up, her grip betraying the strength concealed in her wiry frame.
When they both have their feet firmly planted on the floor — and Jean has genteelly let go of Lisa’s hand within an appropriate time frame rather than holding on to it a moment too long like Lisa almost wishes she would — Lisa looks up and finds herself surprised, as she always is, at how tall Jean has gotten.
Despite being two years her junior, Jean is already half a handbreadth taller than Lisa, and fixing to grow taller still. Lean and broad-shouldered, she carries herself with a poise devoid of pretense or affectation; she hasn’t quite mastered the Gunnhildr presence that Frederica wears so well, but Lisa can already tell that it won’t be long until Jean too wears it like a second skin.
Lisa wonders, not for the first time, what happened to the quiet, wide-eyed child who’d looked to her for comfort during storms as if the lightning itself heeded her words. And then she puts those thoughts to one side, because she is leaving for the Akademiya tomorrow, and she cannot afford to second-guess.
Lisa has never known her father, you see, and her mother passed away a year ago. There is nothing more keeping her in Mondstadt.
Well. Nothing except Jean.
“I can’t come to bid you goodbye tomorrow,” Jean says suddenly, breaking the silence.
“Oh?”
“I’m taking my Company on a training exercise in the field. I won’t be in town when you leave.”
Reschedule your training, Lisa doesn’t say. Aren’t I more important than your Company?
She bites her tongue and holds back the mean-spirited question, because she is a good friend. (And because she is afraid she already knows what the answer is.)
“That’s okay,” she says instead.
“I am sorry,” Jean says.
She looks penitent enough that Lisa abandons her resentment and reaches up to tweak her nose. “Oh, don’t look so sad, darling. I’m sure we’ll see each other again soon.”
“I’m not sad,” Jean protests, going a little pink in the cheeks.
Lisa feigns offense. “You’re not sad that your best friend is leaving?”
“I-I—” Jean stammers. “That’s not—” She catches the mischief behind Lisa’s eyes and glowers at her. “Stop teasing.”
Lisa pouts and throws her arms around Jean’s neck, dragging her down into a hug. “Oh, but you make it so easy!”
Jean snakes her arms around Lisa’s waist and leans only a little awkwardly into the hug. “You’re lucky I like you.”
Emotion, strange and cloying, chokes off Lisa’s windpipe. She squeezes Jean a little tighter. “I will miss teasing you,” she says, in lieu of the myriad other confessions that linger at the tip of her tongue.
Jean doesn’t respond — only sighs, and presses her cheek wordlessly into Lisa’s curls. They stand there for a long moment.
Eventually Jean shifts, glancing at the clock on Lisa’s wall. “I should go,” she says regretfully. “I have preparations to make before my field excursion tomorrow.”
Selfishly, Lisa holds on for a fraction of a second more. Then she disentangles herself from Jean and offers her a brilliant smile. “Of course. I wouldn’t want to keep the Lionfang Knight from her duties.”
Jean’s answering smile is a small, wistful thing. “Have a safe trip, Lisa. Write me when you get there?”
“I will,” Lisa promises: her one concession to sentiment.
“I would wish you luck,” Jean says, “but I know you won’t need it.”
Lisa smiles. “Same to you.”
Jean stares at her a moment, as if committing the lines of her face to memory. Then she nods. “Goodbye, then.”
“Goodbye, Jean,” Lisa says.
Jean turns and lets herself out of the room, the doorknob as accustomed to her hand as to Lisa’s. The door shuts noiselessly behind her.
Lisa allows herself 10 ridiculous seconds of staring at the door, hoping against all her better sense that it will open again and reveal Jean in the doorway.
When it does not, as Lisa had known it wouldn’t, she throws herself back into putting her room to rights, packing everything that will fit into her suitcases and leaving the nonessentials in boxes.
She has no time for frivolous, unscientific sentiment. She has so much to do. She is leaving for the Akademiya tomorrow, she reminds herself.
And she tries not to think too hard about why it feels like she is the one being left behind, instead.
#genshin#jeanlisa#lisa is a little mean in this i won’t lie. but she is 18 and on the verge of a big move so i feel like she deserves to be a little messy#i believe in women’s rights and women’s wrongs#tbh i’ve never been able to make jeanlisa work properly in my head but i read a really good fic recently and i think something clicked#still not fully confident in my characterization but i liked the “faith that borders on fealty” line at least#knight/lady jeanlisa will never not be delicious#drabble#lisa minci#jean gunnhildr#leifyposts

.。*♡ A/N: I wrote this a while back and recently was thinking "hey maybe tumblr folks would like this", I'm not used to write character x character, but these two are adorable and have my whole heart. I loved Venti at first sight when I started playing genshin and wrote tons of fics for him that I probably gonna post later. You can also read this fic on AO3.
Warm gusts of wind blew across her face, sending beads of sweat down her forehead as she ran up the hill, the smell of sunflowers dancing over her messy bangs as she forced her weak legs to keep running.
Normally Lumine would fight the monsters chasing her with the greatest pleasure. Fighting was what she had been doing since she woke up, but today her whole body was screaming for mercy and rest and she wasn't going to deny herself that, after having spent the day fighting hilichurls and abyss sorcerers, doing guild missions and entering multiple domains. All she could do now was run, run and hope her glider worked, any other time she would laugh at the way the stiff wings over her back made her feel. Now she just wanted those same wings to carry her to the safety of solid ground and away from these creatures.
Her heart beat quickly inside her chest as she spared one last look back. Everything was a mess, but she hoped Kaeya's ingenious plan would work - she was the bait everyone was chasing up the hill, but what the monsters didn't know was that a huge siege had been set up to defeat them.
"Don't worry." Paimon muttered.
The fairy pointed to Amber and her bow ready under one of the branches, to Kaeya and Jean hidden in the shadows of the leafy trees. The little fairy knew that Lumine's soft and empathetic heart wanted to continue fighting alongside her friends, but she would stop her this time. Her little hands gently pushing her friend's shoulders to encourage her to keep going.
"They'll be fine, come on, you promised Paimon we'd eat sticky honey roast." Paimon let out a small scream, making Lumine let out a long sigh and massaging her sore ears.
But she couldn't disagree with the fairy; her friends were strong. From all sides, Favonius' knights were attacking without mercy. Lumine's eyes followed every blow of cryo, pyro and anemo that flew everywhere. The ingenuity of the hilichurls and metachurls had cost them a lot and, if by chance, one of them survived the attack, they would certainly think and plan better next time.
Tired, the girl approached the cliff with slow steps, the tall grass brushing her ankles in a way that made her laugh softly. She would meet them down there anyway according to plan. Her job was done and she could leave without worrying about one of her friends getting hurt.
Lumine observed the way the terrain spread out in cobblestones, mud puddles still present due to the recurring rain that had ravaged Mondstadt these last few days. For a second she almost wanted to stand and admire the view, but finally she jumped. Paimon following closely behind her.
The wind enveloped her completely, as if it hugged her and invited her to glide without ever touching the ground again. The feeling of being in the air was freeing, freeing from the pressure of continually having to look for her brother without ever finding him, from the pressure of helping everyone just because she could and was strong. Lumine was a warrior, one who had been fighting forever, traveling world after world, one who had seen and defeated many monsters with her brother. And a warrior only stops fighting when no one needs them anymore; people still needed her - but now, the girl would rest.
When she reached a safe distance, Lumine activated her glider. Its long, white wings spread like those of an eagle, but instead of gliding they do nothing to stop its free fall. It's desperate; Her eyes widen, filling with tears as the wind whistles loudly in her ears and slaps her face repeatedly. As she sees herself quickly falling towards the abyss, Paimon screams and tries to grab her arms.
But it is flawed. The little fairy is unable to stop her friend from falling. And there is no one who can help now.
As she fall, shaking, Lumine thinks about her brother and how alone he will be. She think about the little fairy at her side, about all the Genius Invokation TCG rounds she won, about all of Venti's bad performances, about the archery lessons she took with Amber, about looking for Diona's cats, about the games with Klee and the incredible drinks that Diluc offered her after a tiring day. She remembers Jean's smile and Kaeya's silly comments.
Lumine opens her teary eyes, puts her hands together and uses her Anemo energy in order to stop her fall. She is moving too fast, falling as fast as the tears that soak her amber eyes, the wind that invited her was now the wind that carried her to her death, somewhere above she hears loud noises. Maybe, screams.
The ground is close now. Nothing and no one can stop it; or better said, the only person who can command the wind to his will would be Venti. The young woman's heart sank knowing that he was far away and that again he would lose someone he loved; her eyes close, the breath is lost in her lungs and she waits. She waits to fall and hit the ground, waits for a second of pain before disappearing from this world. But nothing happens.
"Come on, open your eyes!" A familiar voice whispers in her ears. And she feels herself shaking from head to toe.
Despite his small and graceful figure, Barbatos holds her in a gentle grip, hands entwining the young woman's waist as he looks at her with great care.
Lumine looks at Venti in surprise, grateful for his quick intervention. In his arms the girl trembles slightly, fear and apprehension, and gratitude flooding her chest as she realizes the gravity of the latest events. Beside her, Paimon flies over them both, unable to chant any words or make any sound, which only makes everything even more serious.
"Thanks." Lumine whispers with a shaky voice. Death is something that naturally surrounds her, but even for someone like her, death is scary. "Thank you, Venti. You saved me." She repeats, wiping her eyes as she hugs him tighter to herself.
There are things they share through their complicit looks, fear was the main emotion. The hug becomes stronger, suffocating, but neither of them moves away from the other for even a second as Venti uses his powers to slowly bring them to the ground. The bard looks at her tenderly, caressing her cheek with one of his hands and he speaks, his tone full of affectionate mockery. "I would be more than happy to reciprocate your feelings, Lumine. You didn't need to fall for me."
The girl smiles and rolls her eyes.
"How did you get here?"
It was a silly question. But for more than two hours he had been playing his harp and drinking as he always did, Diluc had sent her a bloody look when she left the tavern in the company of Kaeya and Amber. It didn't make sense for the bard to be there at that moment, he would have to travel for at least forty minutes to get there. Either way, she was happy he was there.
"I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere," Venti smiled for a brief moment. "I am like the wind and the wind told me that someone I care about was in danger."
The traveler nodded, seeming satisfied with the answer. Her feet finally touched the ground after a few seconds, but Lumine was still clinging to his green cape and refusing to leave his personal space. She was like a little leech invited to stay and Venti didn't mind that at all, letting her rest her face on his shoulder, breathe the fresh air again and, most importantly, feel alive, free from fear.
For someone who always made so many jokes and always had a smile on his face, Venti was quiet now, slowly taking Lumine with him to sit on the soft grass and lean against an old oak tree. The whole time he was holding her. The anemo archon deep inside was also afraid. He was afraid of losing Dvalin, of losing Mondstadt and losing her, the girl who slowly made him lose his barriers and saw him like no one in a long time had been able to.
"Everything will be fine." He assured her gently. One of his hands found its way to her blonde hair, playing with it as she looked at him completely exhausted. "I'm here now, nothing could hurt you."
Lumine forced a smile, her eyelids slowly closing. If exhaustion was consuming her before, after seeing her entire life flash before her eyes and imagining a future in which she would not be present, Lumine would need to hibernate for another five hundred years in order to recover from such past emotion. Sweat stuck to her complexion, mud stained her dress, but she could only feel a comfortable warmth as she continued to spoon the bard.
Beside her, Paimon hugged her arms, half trembling, half trying to appear stronger than she really was, and Lumine pulled the fairy closer until she was in the middle of the two. Like a child. Like their child.
"I know." She whispered.
Lumine knew that she would always be safe and sound if Venti was by her side. She knew that he would take care of herself, her injuries, that he would listen to her anxieties and fears, and that he would then motivate her to get up another day and try again. She knew she had a home in him just as he had one in her, she knew she could wake up after a nightmare and seek comfort in his arms, in his lyre and his singing, she knew that his husky voice after waking up would make her smile as much as the his messy hair. It was the little things that showed her that no matter what happened, Venti would be there for her.
For now, however, they could enjoy the rest and the silence, and the fact that they were still together and would be together for many years to come.

It's time to come home
What are the first steps when one wants to run away from their filthy rich husband?
Get somewhere where his Mora does not have much of an influence. Furthermore will it be beneficial to have a second person one can trust at least as far as once can throw them.
And last but certainly not least, use the allowance one was able to squeeze out of said filthy rich husband to plan the escape
Obviously the plan had it's plot-holes and its hard edges but somehow it had actually worked. The hard proof being her ability to finally look at the clear night sky again. The hard proof being that she was finally able to feel the warmth in the wind again. The hard proof being the sounds of leafs underneath her feet and the smell of a night whose day had immersed it's nature in gentle sun.
Having stepped over the border to Sumeru just seconds before she didn't know who to thank.
Lord Barbatos for helping her in reaching her freedom once more? The Raiden Shogun to somehow grant her the courage she had needed? Greater Lord Rhukkadevata or Lesser Lord Khusanali for granting their wisdom? Or maybe even the Tsaritsa for showing her how to endure his love? His obsession?
Maybe the people that had helped her on the way? The Kamisato Clan who had granter her refuge when their servant Thoma had found her, literally stranded at the shore of Narukami Island? The Crux fleet for taking her over to Liyue? Beidou and Kazuha for helping her improve her swordsmanship? Xiangling who finally showed her how to cook many different things she found in the wilderness.
She had many people to be grateful for. Though if she had to pick there were probably especially two. First the one that had granted her her vision. No one except probably the Seven knew how the whole thing worked, so she didn't know if she had to be thankful to Celestia or the Raiden Shogun or whoever. But since she didn't know she only hoped that the gratefulness she felt in her heart when she had received her electro vision, could be felt by them.
The other person was probably Baizhu. The pharmacist from Liyue being the one from the outside. The one she could trust at least as far as she could throw him.
Now on this hill right between Lumberpick Valley and Ghanda Hill, having picked up her second Sumeru Rose she was once again thankful that she had taken the leap. Obviously she hadn't taken the way Baizhu had told her to go. Map wise it would have been the fastest, but in the end, Baizhu was still his brother and she did only trust him as far as she could throw him. So Yes. While Baizhu had told her to go straight through the mines she had taken the long journey. By Mount Tianheng over the Dunyu Ruins and finally Lumberpick Valley she had finally made it.
Sumeru.
Just far enough for her Husband to think she should have went further. Just unknown enough for him not to wait directly at the entrance and so so very little Fatui. And the best factor of all. The Rainforest. The rainforest meant danger. Danger meant people taking trades and favours over Mora and no Mora meant a certain someone did have nearly no way of tracking her down.
Sadly even he would at some point come to that conclusion, so even Sumeru would only be temporary. The only place she could never return to however would be Mondstadt. Dear dear Mondstadt. The place where she was born, the place where she had spent her first childhood years before that dreadful move and the dreadful years that followed.
Reaching for her vision hung around her neck as if on instinct, it's pulsing calmed her.
If she were completely honest, hiding this vision from him had probably been the most difficult of all. Not the escape from his estate. Not the escape out the country. No the most difficult had been hiding the vision. There had been so many times where he had been so close to it. So close to discovering her biggest secret.
She even had expected it. The memories of the night just before her grand escape still made shivers rake down her spine. She would have said that he knew. She had been so absolutely sure that he knew. Even remembering his words, and having it made out, she was still so sure that he had known. It had been the first time his facade had slightly cracked. The first time there hadn't been any thinly veiled threats behind a pleasant smile.
No. When his thumb had caressed the spot behind her ears and he had stared down at her with this sense of -
Sense of what?
She couldn't really say what it had been. In her memories it always changed. Sometimes it was desperation. Sometimes it was admiration, sometimes it was pure unadulterated fury but always, she thought there was this spark of absolute and utter coldness.
He must have had known.
But why then let her go?
After having lived with him for around six years having planned the escape for around five, she knew that the Regrator wasn't someone to let go of his possessions. No. Rather he sometimes reminded her of a dragon that fiercely protected it's treasures. Even or especially when the treasure did not want to stay.
The first few weeks, she had expected a Fatui behind every friendly mask. Her Husband inside every shadow.
Nothing ever happened however. He never showed up. Instead it had always just been either the normal bustle of the street or an animal inside the bushes.
Still. There was an incessant ringing inside her heart. An incessant alarm going off in her head.
She wasn't through the storm yet. And she wouldn't be for a while.
Something told her he had known.
And something else told her that he had decided against hindering her from leaving.
She only had to find out what his endgame was. And an Endgame was something a strategist like him always had.
She didn't have to go much further. She could see a huge tree far in the distance. Maybe she would be able to either make it there by morning or find a suitable tree to sleep in.
That was another thing Kazuha had taught her.
The memory of the young man brought a nearly instant smile to her face. He had been so gentle. So calm. His manner of speaking never failing to settle her down.
She already missed him dearly.
When she spread the wings of her glider she took one last look back at the rustle of the field only to once again be greeted with kind nothingness.
She would probably never stop having to look behind her back. Pantalone would come back for her and she knew that if he really wanted to, there would be nothing she could do but accept her failure. She just had to try.
She had to taste freedom one last time, before he would shut her away from it for all of Eternety.
She had to fly one last time before he came back to burn her wings for good.
She could already see it in front of her eyes. He would mock her. Ask her if she had finished her temper tantrum. Maybe he would tell her to come home and she would have to follow him, ultimately wondering where Home was and what Home was.
Maybe she would fee the shackles binding her once more, the moment he would put his arms around her waist to guide her back.
Away from the warmth. Away from the birds. Away from the air.
Yes. She really should savour that flight. In the end it might be the last before being put back on the shelf in the stuffy room of his stuffy estate.
It was laughable wasn't it?
She was finally free of him. Free of his presence hanging over her. Free of the Mora binds that had tethered her to him.
But instead she had never felt this caged.
She had met so many wonderful people on her journey. Seen so many wonderous things. And yet she hadn't been able to enjoy even one. His existence always looming over her head like a Damocles sword.
Maybe that had been the exact reason he had let her go for now. To let her get a taste of the abject horror that came with an escape. Maybe that was his first and last attempt to quell all her curiosity for anything that wasn't him.
And now, as she was flying down this hill with the wind in her back and the night sky above her, with her heart beating furiously in her chest and all the gratefulness her body could hold, she finally admitted to herself that if he were to appear in front of her now, she would let him.
She was tired.
So so tired.
Was that really the freedom she had learned of in Mondstadt? Or had it just been the innocent conception of a child lost in the worlds marvel who didn't know any better?

Extinguished The Fires
Pairing: Diluc Ragnvindr x (GN)Reader
summary: diluc offered you a place to stay following a sudden fire. how long will it be until unresolved feelings come to the surface?
cw: mentions of blood and injuries, patching up wounds, kissing
notes: this is a repost from ao3, i'm novalupin on there too if you'd prefer reading in that format.
The trees surrounding the winding path filtered beams of moonlight through them, illuminating the weary Pyro user dragging himself to Dawn Winery. He sighed, swatting at the crystalflies which were hovering around his head, his skin gleaming in their aura.
Diluc clutched at his side in agony, his worn boots scratching at the gravel. Every so often, an irritated grunt would slip from him as he narrowly missed muddy roots that threatened to topple him.
It was supposed to be a simple Fatui raid. Take ‘em out, grab any information, disappear. That was the plan. He’d defeated five of them, and they fell to their knees in a fiery blaze, but he'd gotten complacent. He’d rushed straight for the last ones without taking a few seconds to regain his elemental control, hoping brute force with his greatsword would suffice.
Some Skirmishers were defeated swiftly, but the remaining ones sent Diluc flying to the concrete walls of the stronghold with their weaponry. He was outnumbered and outarmed, and was forced to abandon the mission. Now, he was stuck lumbering home at an ungodly hour like a common drunkard, a ripping pain in his abdomen with each step.
His thoughts were racing. Word would definitely travel fast through the Fatui’s ranks. The last thing he needed was for a Harbinger to hear of his identity and halt all Mondstadt operations.
But, even with numerous lesions scattered across his body, his mind still drifted back to you.
You’d met the winery owner a couple years prior, often sharing a bottle of wine and a conversation with Kaeya and Rosaria at the bar. Over time, your visits to the tavern had become more frequent, and less of them included the captain and nun.
Diluc usually detested chatting. It had always seemed like a futile way of passing the time, and he made it abundantly clear to anyone whom he interacted with that he’d much rather eat a slime than make small-talk about their day.
Though, it felt different when he spoke to you. You were so… captivating, to say the least. He spent hours in your company, even working the closing shifts at the bar against his (and Charles’) better judgement just for more time in your presence. He’d fumble out a half-hearted excuse as to why he was still there and converse about your commissions. His thoughts shifted to the first time he'd stayed late.
“Can I have a-” You started, pausing when you saw he’d already placed your regular order in front of you.
Without missing a beat, he asked, turning to listen intently: “How were your commissions? I caught word there was a hilichurl blockade near Springvale today. Did you manage to collect your materials?”
“Yeah, huge camp. It’s weird that they were this close to the city, though.”
“The Knights never fail to surprise me with their incompetence.” He huffed. “They wouldn’t know their ups from their downs without the Acting Grand Master.”
You had let out a breath of amusement, before rattling on about the loot you’d gathered, and what you planned to use it for.
He hated how fond he was of you. He hated how, when you’d mentioned to your friends in front of him that your house was in shambles after a sudden fire, he’d wasted no time in insisting you use a room at the winery. He hated how he wished it was a permanent arrangement.
He was brought out of his reverie by the winery’s hazy lighting. With a few clicks, he heaved open the oaken doors, and headed upstairs. The maids had long taken their leave, and you were probably asleep, so he didn’t have to worry too much about alarming someone. Recently, you had gotten into the habit of entertaining a game of chess with him before bed, and both of you departed to your rooms. Well, you did, at least. He, on the other hand, would wait a few minutes, grab his coat, and head out the door for his nightly patrols.
His hand hovered over his doorknob, catching a glimpse of light out of the corner of his eye. The library’s door was ajar, leaking candlelight into the dark hallway. His eyebrows knitted together in confusion. Maybe it slipped his mind when he was getting ready.
Drawing closer, he heard the faint shuffling of pages coming from inside. It was you, seated in a armchair, eagerly flipping through the book in your hand. There was a large pile of them next to you, no doubt ones you wished to finish.
“You’re up late,” his monotonous voice broke the airy silence. “Good read?”
You nearly jumped out of your own skin. Your voice took on a shaky, frenzied tone as you spoke.
“Oh, Archons, Diluc, I’m so sorry. The door was open,” you rambled. “I really didn’t mean to overstep.”
“No, nothing of that sort. You needn’t apologise. What’s mine is yours.” His voice was gentle as he tried to steady his breathing. He would’ve rather bled out than sought any help from a healer, but his wounds were getting the better of him. He inched a bit closer, a gloved finger turning the book slightly to reveal its velvety cover.
“‘Heart’s Desire’,” he read, nodding in approval. He reasoned that, if he engaged himself in an interesting discussion with you, his pain would be long forgotten. “A riveting tale.”
“It really would be great, though, don’t you think? A secret corner of the city?” You mused happily. “I enjoyed Veiga as the main character, I think she…”
You caught an unusual colour under the layers of his clothing. You furrowed your eyebrows, and extended a hand to push Diluc’s hefty coat to the side, brushing your fingers over his now stained waistcoat. He let out a sharp exhale.
“You’re bleeding! What happened?” You asked, panicked. “Why didn’t you say something?”
“Miscalculation, that’s all.” He responded sharply, shrugging your touch off of him. He removed his gloves before taking the book from you to skim the pages. “I’ve taken care of it. I don’t need your help.”
He watched as you gave him a skeptical glance, before getting up and leaving the room. He worried that he had upset you, his expression souring at the thought, but you strode back in, arms full with a wooden box he assumed to be healing supplies. You gestured for him to sit, and after a few beats of silence, he relented, and removed his coat, along with his vest. He knew he’d usually deny your aid over and over, but you always seemed to ignore his stubborn objections.
You clicked open the latch and laid out various oils and gauze. Rolling up the sleeves to your nightshirt, you tugged at the bottom of his button-down, silently asking for permission.
“You don’t have to,” he mumbled. It was a soft, dejected plea, but he unbuttoned the grey fabric with no further protests. It revealed three large gashes across his side, and his haphazard attempt at stopping the bleeding with a ripped piece of fabric.
“For a well-known businessman, you’re not very diplomatic. This might sting.” You said, soaking a piece of the gauze in a cleansing oil, before wiping it on him gently. He let out a hiss at the sensation. You noticed, as you started on the next wound, the amount of scars that marred his toned abdomen, all previously left to mend themselves.
It all felt painfully intimate, the heaving of his chest, his open shirt, the proximity. A small part of you wished it was under better circumstances. He looked down at you through crimson lashes, observing your expression.
You wrapped up the injuries, flattening out the bandage flush against his skin. He wrapped his fingers around a vial of a pain-suppressor, which he downed instantly. In a controlled whisper, you spoke, rebuttoning his shirt.
“Why do you do this?”
It could have meant so many things. Why do you hurt yourself for a city that pays you no mind? Why do you refuse to ask for help?
Rising to eye level, you realised how close your faces truly were. He made no attempt to pull back, your breaths intermingling.
You realised how truly beautiful Diluc was. It’s really easy to call someone attractive, but he was lovely in the way one would speak of a painting. His unruly curls poking out of his ponytail from various angles, the tiny tinge of red on his cheeks perfectly complimenting the fiery hues of his eyes; it was like someone had chiseled him from marble, each carving calculated and perfectly placed to create him. You seemed at a loss for words, and your gaze shifted to the thin scar that cut through his jaw, a memento of old missions.
Diluc's gaze fell slightly. He didn’t know if it was because his mind was hazy from the painkiller, or it was the late night getting to him, but he made a decision he couldn’t take back.
In one swift motion, his hand gently pulled your jaw to him as he pressed your lips to his. You molded to his touch perfectly, sinking closer into him. It wasn’t passionate or heated; it was a meek, gentle kiss, much resembling two young teenagers who were on the tails of a dramatic confession. For someone who wasn’t much of a sweet-talker, you could feel every sentence in his touch.
With each graze of his fingers, with each brush of his lips. I love you. I’m sorry.
All of those days, pining over him as he’d speak about the newest concoctions he had come up with, had finally come to fruition.
He pulled away for air, resting his forehead on yours. The vermillion of his eyes was so piercing, so stark against the pale tones of his skin.
“Because of you.” He murmured. You felt him intertwine your bare fingers, pressing his calloused hands against your own. You stared at him, confused.
“You asked me why I do this.” He explains. “I do it to preserve you.”
His sentence almost fades in his throat.
"To preserve… us."

Hello! I’m kinda new to requesting and your blog, but I have read some of your works. Loving the way you write Albedo! Could you do childhood friends to lovers headcannons with Albedo please? 😋 Thank you and I hope your having a nice day/night <3
childhood besties.
-> albedo x gn!reader
-> warnings: not canon compliant, no use of y/n
[a/n]: i thought about this request for a while to try and make it match up with albedo’s little connections with khaenri’ah, but that was incredibly difficult so he’s just a sweet normal boy here
You and Albedo became friends because of your parents. Your parents were coworkers and close friends with Albedo’s, so whenever they hung out you and Albedo did too.
You took for first steps together, your first words were “Bedo” and Albedo’s wasn’t far off from being a baby’s version of your own nickname.
As toddlers and children, you and Albedo remained inseparable. Even after it showed that Albedo had quite a higher aptitude for alchemy and science while you preferred to stay away from that confusing route, sticking to other hobbies.
If you ever argued, it wasn’t for long. Albedo had a lot of emotional intelligence for a child and was able to not only see past petty things but help you do the same. He’d apologize or explain his feelings and would urge you to do the same.
The entirety of Mondstadt knew of you both. Where one was, the other wasn’t far away. Your parents even worked with the schools to keep you both in the same classes through primary school.
You were both subject to the teasing of your peers through adolescence and your teenage years, your friends joking about Albedo being your boyfriend or how you’re going to marry him one day. The only thing you could do was flush and try to deny it, but even you knew that there was a high probability of that happening.
Even as best friends, Albedo was your everything and you were his.
As you became teenagers and eventually young adults, it became hard to see anyone else romantically. You’d been on your fair share of dates, but your reputation with Albedo was widely known and not a lot of men really enjoyed how close you two were. It was insecurity at its finest— you were not willing to give up your best friend for a man you weren’t as close with.
Many failed dates later, not that it really bothered you, you began to realize that the only person you could really see in your life like that was Albedo. Like, you definitely didn’t want to give in to the rumors going around Mondstadt about the two of you being destined to be together, but it just felt right whenever you let yourself indulge in the idea.
You were SO NERVOUS about it though. You’d been friends for so long that the next step was scary. Would Albedo even want that?
Little do you know, he for sure did.
Albedo wasn’t one to go on dates or mess around with anyone. Firstly, he just wasn’t too interested in the dating scene. Second, he was too interested in you. Flirting with someone else— hell, even talking to someone else— felt like he was betraying you and he just had no desire for that.
His world revolved around you and you alone, even if he believed that you didn’t return that sentiment.
So imagine his surprise when you stood before him in Dragonspine, nose red from the cold and cheeks red from embarrassment, stuttering out this poorly put together confession. You were lucky that he just knew you well enough to put together the pieces.
The gentle smile that took over his face once he realized gave you the confidence to say the rest of your little spiel with more confidence and Albedo let you finish before agreeing to go with you back to Mondstadt for a dinner. Your first date.
The people of Mondstadt just knew the minute you two walked into the town hand-in-hand. They were right, after all.

Pursuit of Knowledge - Chapter 4
Summary:
[Y/N] continues Act II of Mondstadt, finds out the worst thing about not having the ability to control time at will, and, along with Kaeya, takes a well deserved rest. What's something else that happens in Act II?
That's right! The Diluc trial run. Still, even that should be "normal", right?
Completion of story recommended: Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises (Sumeru Act V), Shenanigans and Sweet Wine (Kaeya hangout)
Also on Ao3 under StemWriter!
Word count: ~8k
You were part of the story now, weren’t you? No matter if the world your avatar was in was made from earth and sky or 1’s and 0’s, you were influencing it regardless. At this point, it’d probably be best to just go with the flow, but you had been thinking about what major event you would want to change, and you really hoped everything would stick to the script long enough to enable you to do that. Even if it meant you would end up upsetting people by hiding things from them.
The four of you hung around in the tavern for a bit just thinking, until Venti finally said to you, “Ah, [Y/N], it should be getting close to time now. Shall we get going?”
You looked at your phone to see the time. It was about 15 minutes past 6pm. It was time. “Oh- right, yeah, we should!”
“You two have somewhere to be? Since Kaeya and I have nothing more to talk about up here, I suppose I can go do other things. If you need me, I’ll be working the bar for a while.” Diluc said, crossing his arms.
“Everyone’s leaving already? Well then, I’ll be taking my leave as well.” Kaeya said, heading towards the stairwell.
He hung around for a second, seemingly expecting someone to say something, then left.
“Come on [Y/N], let’s go! Our prize is waiting for us!” Venti tried to make it sound like you weren’t about to try to steal a divine artifact, and become wanted criminals.
Oh right, you were going to see Diluc again after this! You should probably give him a little hint on what’s going to happen.
“Alright, we’re going to go now.” You walked up to Diluc, and began whispering. “Hey Diluc,” He looked at you. “I promise it wasn’t us, it was the Fatui.”
He looked at you in confusion.
“You’ll get that later. Anyway, bye~” Your tone sounded a lot like Venti’s at the end there. You sighed internally when you thought about that.
------------------------------------------------------------
“Alright fortune-teller, what’s going to happen?” Venti asked, eager to get a response from you. For some reason, it almost seemed like he already knew, and was just asking you to see what you’d say.
“Well… We’re not going to get arrested, I can tell you that. At least, not if we do this right.” You didn’t want to tell him it wouldn’t work.
“Is that all you can tell me?” He whined. “Fine, let’s go in.” He pouted after saying that. “But you have to tell me more later! I want to see how much you know!”
You went back in the Cathedral with him, making sure to be quiet. He stayed behind while you snuck your way to the Holy Lyre. You made sure to be very careful there, assuming the guards were actual people, and not the dumbest A.I. you’ve ever seen in any modern game. You looked at their movements on your way in, and they… still seemed robotic. Were they still AI? They can’t be, right? You looked at the face of one of the guards, and while his face had a few more polygons than the NPC’s you saw in the regular game, he had a blank stare as he paced back and forth. That’s… something to think about later. You kept going through the basement, avoiding being seen.
During your attempt at burglary, you remembered your soundboard. You hadn’t used that in a bit, and you knew a good moment to use it again is coming up. You got that ready as you made your way through.
As you entered the room with the lyre, an Electro Cicin Mage steals it, and teleports out. Wow! What a surprise! Thankfully, you just got teleported out of the building too, because you weren’t sure you could go back through the basement without getting caught.
“We’re busted! Run!” You and Paimon said at the same time.
Venti looked a bit confused for a second before leaving with you to the tavern. You made sure your soundboard was ready.
*Benny Hill theme*
The goofy music was fitting, considering the wind tunnel things you assumed he made threw you into the huge statue in the middle of the plaza, as well as the roofs of several buildings. Your grand escape wasn’t very graceful, but you made it safely. As you busted into the tavern, Venti gave you a weird look.
Next thing you knew, you were talking with Diluc again. Right before you headed upstairs, you decided to remind him of what you’d said earlier about the Fatui. In the version you remembered, he trusted the Traveler enough to not turn them in, but you still wanted to make sure he didn’t turn you in here. You listened as two Knights rushed in.
“Ah, Master Diluc. Have you seen two thieves around?”
“...What happened?”
“Haven't you heard, Master Diluc? Two thieves were trying to steal the Holy Lyre!”
“Oh? How odd… any ideas on who the culprits could be? Fatui, perhaps?” He remembered. Yes!
“We don’t know, Master Diluc. One appeared young, was dark-haired, and dressed in a teal green, and the other was… blond. We’re putting up wanted posters now.”
You still didn’t know how they got so much from Venti and yet couldn’t describe Aether as anything else as “blond”.
“I believe they headed that way.” Diluc said, pointing out the door.
You went downstairs to talk to him, Venti running ahead of you. Diluc already seemed tired of Venti’s attitude, assuming he stole something. Not the Holy Lyre der Himmel, but a bottle of alcohol.
You forgot the Traveler and Paimon hadn’t met Diluc yet. Sure, you have, but they weren’t you. Thankfully, Diluc understood enough to where a quick “Ooohhh, right, they haven’t met you yet!” was enough to get the point across. He continued as you remembered, sneaking in an expected bash at the Knights at the end.
Diluc really didn’t like the Knights, huh? You understood that he felt that way because of trauma and stuff, but you wished he had a more… positive attitude about things like that. There weren’t any therapists in Teyvat, were there? Oh! New idea! Become the therapist. Were you qualified? Probably not. But at this point, anyone for these people to talk to would help. You sat back and listened to Venti’s stunning performance again, this time without the fancy cutscene to go with it. Diluc looked awe-struck, probably the same way you did when you first heard it.
You agreed to meet after midnight, when the tavern was closed. Great! Another six hours to wait! …That rhymed, didn’t it.
“Alright, I don’t really have anything to do, so I’ll probably just eat something and take a nap. Bye, see you later!” You said to them, leaving the tavern. You found a corner to log off, and left your bedroom to go “take care” of yourself.
Your eyes hurt a bit from looking at the screen for so long, and your stomach growled with hunger. You’d been online for a good 7 hours, and you only now realized just how much you needed a break. Well, time flies fast when you’re having fun! ‘Was all of that really fun though?’ You asked yourself, before immediately pushing that thought out of your mind to go eat a whole family-sized bag of potato chips. Self care!
You snacked before… gracefully falling asleep, yeah, that, on your couch for a nap that would end up lasting way longer than you anticipated.
--------------------------------------------------------
As it turns out, falling asleep on an uncomfortable couch after binging on junk food isn't the best for the human body. You woke up on the floor, nauseous, and somehow even more tired than when you fell asleep, and you decided to go in the bathroom just in case. You checked the time on your phone, and it was already close to midnight. Thankfully, the nauseousness went away and you didn’t have to get worried about getting sick at the worst time possible. You washed your face, and headed to your bedroom to meet the others in the tavern.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before [Y/N] had left with Venti, they said something that Diluc had no clue what it meant until those Knights came running in, looking for the thief who stole the Holy Lyre. He had chosen to believe [Y/N] when they said they could basically see the future, and this only proved it more.
The question was no longer if they were telling the truth or not. It was how to proceed. He had some time to spare while they waited until the tavern closed. He needed to investigate this on his own. “It was the Fatui”, [Y/N] said. If that was so, then he should start where all the Fatui in the city seem to stay. He headed to the Goth Grand Hotel, preparing for a search for answers.
He hadn’t seen Kaeya at all. He was normally still out and about at this time. Did he actually wrap things up at a decent hour? Or was he up to something?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As soon as Kaeya left the third floor of the tavern, he was hit with a wave of exhaustion. He was planning to stay in the tavern for a bit, and possibly wait for [Y/N] and Venti to do whatever they needed to, but he desperately needed rest. He left the tavern, beginning to walk to his room in the Favonius Headquarters. Wait, couldn’t he use the waypoint there? [Y/N] had taught him how earlier that day.
It was at the highest point, wasn’t it? He just needed to visualize the area, imagine himself there. Just feel it, and…
And there he was. He almost fainted from the sensation paired with his exhaustion, but he made it. He glided down to the door on the roof, and entered the building. It had been a long day, hadn’t it? He entered his room, took off the bits of armor he was wearing, and promptly passed out on his bed.
--------------------------------------------------------
He woke up in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason. Everything told him that he wasn’t supposed to be up right now, but he didn’t feel like he could fall back asleep. He sat up, and realized how bad he felt. He was drenched in sweat, his hair was a mess, and his eyepatch had shifted, making his right eye visible. He quickly adjusted it. There wasn’t anyone else in the room, right? …Of course there wasn’t.
After a quick shower, he changed into a clean uniform, minus most of the accessories. It wasn’t worth the time to put all of that on for the little he was planning to do. He figured he wouldn’t need it, since he could easily hold his own in a fight, should he get in one, but he decided to bring his Vision with him.
He left the building, being careful not to make too much noise, and realized he had no destination in mind. Had the tavern closed yet? Ah, it probably had, it’s not worth it. Is it? Again, something told him to just forget stopping by, but it wouldn’t hurt to check, right? He planned to stop by the tavern to see if it was open, and if it was, to get a drink before leaving the city. After that? You know what they say in Mondstadt:
“Let the wind lead.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Venti couldn’t believe Master Diluc wouldn’t serve him any more alcohol, especially when he was going to be in the tavern, in a room filled with wine barrels for so long. He was alone now, so maybe he could sneak just one more sip without him noticing… But that wouldn’t prove he was trustworthy now, would it? And besides, he wasn’t that addicted to it to where he couldn’t go a few hours without it. For now, he just started to come up with his latest ballad to pass the time.
Or at least he was going to, but he just couldn’t stop thinking about [Y/N]. From the very beginning, they knew who he really was. At first he thought it was because they recognized his voice from when he helped them battle Dvalin, but they supposedly have knowledge of future events. He was wondering how much they knew, but they wouldn’t tell him much at all. It seemed like a weird way to phrase it, and they acted like they knew a lot more detail than he did, but if they really were telling the truth, were they too, aware of the s-
Venti heard Diluc open the door to the room on the third floor. He immediately looked around at the wine barrels, making sure they weren’t touched. Good thing he didn’t try anything!
“Ah, Master Diluc, you’re back! Any news on the Holy Lyre?” Venti perked up. He already knew the answer to that, but he wanted to get the conversation started.
“It’s not where I thought it may be, in the Goth Grand Hotel, but I… persuaded some Fatui members to tell me where it is.” He adjusted his left glove.
“Well then, are we only waiting for [Y/N] and the tavern to close now?” Venti asked.
“That, and I was thinking of contacting one more person to help us. I know it’s late, but hopefully she’ll understand…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Diluc stopped by the tavern to close up and check on Venti, and quickly set out again to find some others who could help. It was getting close to time, but he should be able to get someone. Hopefully Jean wouldn’t be too preoccupied with her work…
He opened the door to leave the tavern, and saw Kaeya walking away. Had he not gone to rest? Kaeya turned around after hearing the door open, and looked at Diluc with that same smug expression as always.
“Diluc, you’re still here? And here I’d thought everyone left already… I came for a drink, but I won’t bother you if you’ve already closed up.” He started to turn back around to leave.
“Hold on. I haven’t put everything away, you can come in for a bit if you’d like.” He could help right? Even though Diluc didn’t exactly get along with him very well anymore, he couldn’t deny that he got things done when he needed to.
“Oh, where’s this hospitality coming from? Do you need something from me, is that what this is?"
“I think you’d be useful to us here. I’ll discuss it with you more inside.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Diluc said he was going to contact people to help them, but Venti didn’t expect him to be back with help this soon.
He heard two sets of footsteps coming up the stairs, and then there were three in the room. The help he had found was Kaeya, who sounded almost… shy, like he didn’t feel like he should be there. When questioned about it, he got a little nervous and insisted it was just insomnia. From the looks of it, he thought he could cover up his emotions with clean clothes and perfume. Venti played along with him, changing the subject to what they were going to do next.
“So Diluc, where exactly did you say the Holy Lyre was?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You turned on your console, opened the program, and watched the celestial pathway for a while. It had been sitting there for quite a bit now, huh?
Verifying file integrity…
Why was that taking so long?
Almost as soon as you noticed it, it went back to its normal speed, and the doors appeared. It probably wasn’t anything to worry about, but it scared you at first. You thought your game finally realized something was wrong, and was just going to either fix itself, and sever your connection to this Teyvat, or ban your account.
If you remembered correctly, Venti, Diluc, and Jean should be waiting for you inside Angel’s Share. You knew Jean couldn’t hear you, but you wondered if she would notice your avatar’s robotic movements. Apparently, she didn’t back in the Knights headquarters, but who knows? Maybe she just wasn’t paying much attention.
You walked in to an empty tavern, but after a few seconds, Venti jumped down from the second floor, landing right in front of you. He looked around, and you made Aether jump a couple of times.
“The mysterious [Y/N] has finally returned! Ready to go? Master Diluc can tell you where we need to go. Or, perhaps you already know?” He said, smiling.
He wasn’t going to stop bringing that up until you told him every little detail, was he?
You sighed, and said “Yes, I know. It’s near Springvale, isn’t it?”
You had basically just woken up, so your voice didn’t sound the best, but you hoped he wouldn’t notice. Diluc came down the stairs, followed by… Kaeya? Did he come instead of Jean? That wouldn’t drastically change anything, right? Wait, was that why it took so long to load? Because the story had changed? This wouldn’t drastically change anything yet, right? No. It can’t. Not yet.
Diluc looked at your avatar, and answered, “You’re right about the location. If we’re all ready to head off, we should get going.”
Venti turned to you, you, not your avatar, and questioned, “Everything alright, [Y/N]? Is there something bothering you?” Did you sound nervous when you answered him?
“Yeah, I just took a nap, and… I didn’t exactly sleep well. But that shouldn’t matter too much, let’s go.”
You briefly explained to Venti and Diluc how you were able to teleport, and that they should be able to do it too, and then you all were at Springvale in the blink of an eye. Venti acted like it was nothing new to him, while Diluc was… fascinated, to say the least. Kaeya had to explain to him that yes, that feeling of having your soul torn from your body was normal for this.
Diluc had quite a bit to say about it.
“Those waypoints are all over Teyvat… If the wrong people learned how to use them…” He looked in the direction of the hideout. “That could spell catastrophe worldwide.”
At one point, you had noticed Kaeya had a different shirt on. Or was it the same one, just with less of the flamboyant stuff on top of it? It was nice seeing people in different outfits, instead of the exact same clothing 24/7.
As you all stood at the entrance, you thought about what was in this domain. This was the one where you had to ask a bunch of different Fatui agents where the key to a door was, right? …And it was the one with the Diluc trial, wasn’t it?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Add another thing to the list of [Y/N]’s powers… Not only could they possess others at will, and suddenly make people stronger, and tell the future, but they could teleport anywhere in Teyvat they wanted to. And apparently, anyone could do that last thing. Diluc was surprised no one else had found out about this, and frankly, he was glad. There was also something else he didn’t know about yet. The other two kept looking at a spot a little above and behind [Y/N]’s avatar when they were talking to them. It felt like something was there, but he couldn’t see anything. He doubted it was a secret, since chances are, they wouldn’t be doing it in front of him if it was, but he hadn’t had a chance to ask anyone about it yet.
He was about to go in the hideout with everyone when [Y/N] gasped, and said they needed to tell him something.
“Hey,” they began. “I know I probably should have told you this earlier, but remember what my system did with Kaeya that one time? Or, I guess technically two times, but whatever- Just, that thing where it forces someone into my team?” They sounded very tired saying that. He knew they had just woken up, but he felt they were also just… annoyed by that happening.
“Yes. It happened less than a day ago. …Why are you bringing this up now?”
“So- I- Look, there’s nothing I can do about it, at least, not now. Maybe I can eventually figure out how to fix this, but-”
He sighed. "...I’m about to be forced into your control, aren’t I? You don’t have to tip-toe around it, I guessed that as soon as you brought it up. If you can’t do anything about it, do you at least know how long this is going to take?”
He trusted them, right? As far as he was aware, they hadn’t lied to him yet, and they were warning him beforehand. Still, it felt like he barely knew them. Should he trust them with his body? Did he even have a choice?
“Give me a bit, and I can check, but it shouldn’t be more than 10 minutes.”
“You make it sound like you can check any little detail with the snap of your fingers.”
This was a very specific event of the future they were talking about, but it would just take them a minute to check it? They’d done it before with that letter, but he had no clue how. Either that meant they were a very talented hydromancer, or they were getting their information from some other power or source.
“Oh, uh, I kind of can, except I have to do a little more than just snap my fingers. I type the thing I want into a device, I find the media I want, and then I have it. Sometimes it’s pretty hard to find said media, but I can pretty much find anything you could ever think of. Aaaand here’s the thing I was looking for! One more second…”
“You have a device that allows you to view information on anything you want? I guess that sounds about right if your world also has the technology to see the future of other worlds… I’m sure you already know of this, but we have something called astrology that allows people to see the future using the stars. Does your technology take advantage of that?”
“I’ll tell you more about the device later, but no, the technology my world has doesn’t use that. Astrology does exist here, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work the same as it does in Teyvat. People in my world use it to give people ideas of what may be yet to come in their lives, but here in Teyvat it’s like astrologers can see fate itself. …Anyway, I think we’re getting off track here. Going off of what I’ve seen, it’s going to take a little over 10 minutes, give or take. It might be a little longer because I’ll be focusing more on your safety than getting through it, or it might be a little shorter because I have others to help me now. Are you fine with that?”
So it’s not astrology… What is it, then? …Whatever. They’re right, they’re going off track. 10 minutes shouldn’t be too bad, especially with others watching over him to make sure [Y/N] doesn’t do anything harmful. It’s not like he had a choice, anyway.
“That’s… fine. Just try to get it over with quickly. It’s fine if I get a few scratches, just don’t kill me.”
“Alright, I guess we’re ready to head in. I’ll check to see if the guards in there can hear me. If not, great, but if so, I’m… gonna need to rethink things.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
…How were you going to explain to them what a phone is, and what the internet does? That’s a question for another time, but it still made you think.
You’d let Diluc know what was about to happen to him, and you just needed to tell everyone your plan, at least for this first part.
“One more thing, as soon as we go in, there’s going to be a rotating bridge with those cylinder torches or whatever they’re called on one side, and a clear path on the other. Once the bridge flips to the clear side, there should be just enough time to get all the way to the other side if we run like hell.”
Venti thought for a second before responding with, “Wouldn’t it be better for me to just… make a wind current at the start? Then no one has to worry about spinning bridges and torches at all~”
Oh. Right. You had others to help you. He could make a wind current and you could just. Skip over it.
“...Yeah, that might be better. I guess I’m so used to having to rely on my own skillset here that I don’t realize others can help. Also, I’m probably just... tired. Anyway, after that first room, there’s a… door with a guard who acts like he’s about to piss his pants, but after that, there’s a big room with a bunch of smaller rooms inside and we’re going to have to find a key to move on. My question here is, should we split up or stay together while we search?”
Diluc was the first to chime in this time. “Normally I’d suggest we split up, but under these circumstances, it’d be better to stick together in case something goes wrong.”
“Alright.” You said. “We’ve been standing here for a while, I think it’s finally time to go in.”
Diluc adjusted his gloves, and you all went in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once again, Kaeya gets to witness [Y/N]’s powers of possession; except now, he isn’t the one experiencing it.
After everyone entered the hideout, Aether had vanished, and Diluc, now wearing a Fatui mask, stood in his place. Something about this whole situation seemed… familiar, for some reason. Nothing like this had happened before, right? …It’s probably just déjà vu.
“Come on, let’s just get this over with.” [Y/N] said, nudging Diluc forward.
Now, Diluc had the same slightly-inhuman movement Aether had when [Y/N] was using him as their “avatar”. He was somewhat used to seeing it on Aether, but it was strange seeing Diluc move like that. When he was under their control, he could only move his eyes, and now, he couldn’t even see Diluc’s, as they were covered by the mask.
Venti did as he said he would, and made a fairly large wind current to carry everyone over. He made it look incredibly easy. If it wasn’t for him hearing other Anemo Vision bearers talking about their experiences, he would have thought that was something anyone could do.
At first he thought [Y/N] had been hiding something from him, but he had a feeling they weren’t. Something was certainly… different about Venti. He couldn’t merely be just a wandering bard. Until Kaeya found out who he truly was, he figured he would stay on guard around him.
Diluc- No, [Y/N] walked into a small opening, thinking there might be something in the room it led into. There was a chest inside, guarded by 3 small Electro Slimes. They made quick work of them, unsurprisingly, but they weren’t paying attention to the fight, instead focused on something else.
They left the room and headed to a large door guarded by a very nervous-looking Agent, just as [Y/N] said. They went up alone to talk to him, and switched avatars to the Traveler, who was also wearing a Fatui mask. The Agent did not seem to notice the change.
“No, NO! Don’t eat me! Ah? You’re… You’re human? The entire floor’s defenses… have been broken. I thought it was the Abyss Order attacking…”
[Y/N] said “Hey,” testing whether or not he could hear them. No response at all. They chuckled a bit, and he could swear Aether said something, though he couldn’t hear anything.
“AH- No, do- We hi- The place- I don’t kn-”
“This guy-”
“Y-you- One of the Ele- Signora-”
The Agent pointed his sword at them in both fear and anger, still shaking, still not noticing the person he was speaking to change forms in front of him. So to get the key, they have to venture further in, also just like [Y/N] sai- Wait a minute, did he actually hear that guy say any of that? He definitely heard him say the floor’s defenses were broken… and then [Y/N] checked if he could hear them… and then they laughed for some reason… and then about 5 seconds later, the conversation was over. Something must have happened; there’s no way he could have said that much in that little time. He looked at where the man was again, only to see that… he was gone.
Kaeya turned to [Y/N], who now seemed nervous, and simply asked, “... Did you notice anything unusual there, by chance?”
“...Shit, you did notice. Uhhh, so remember when you first met Aether and you didn’t know his name until I told you because you didn’t hear it even though you knew what was said? I might have done the thing that does that again.”
Which was what, exactly? They hadn’t explained it yet, but now wasn’t the time to get an explanation from them, so he reluctantly decided to move on from that.
They opened the door and though he couldn’t see her, Paimon decided now was the time to ask questions.
“Did he say Signora? What a strange name…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kaeya had described to Diluc what it felt like, and although it did feel exactly as he described, he definitely wasn’t used to it. He felt something watching him that he didn’t feel before, but when he looked in its direction, there was nothing there. He didn’t think much of it, as Kaeya had mentioned something like this to him. It was likely where [Y/N] was looking at Teyvat from.
[Y/N] talked to a guard, and for that conversation, he was thrown out of his body, now watching the Traveler from a similar position [Y/N] was. Was this how they saw the world? Strange, but again, exactly what Kaeya described.
Other than that, Diluc didn’t notice anything off with the conversation, but Kaeya apparently did. Diluc wasn’t the type of person to miss things, so he knew something weird was happening when [Y/N] responded to him in a way that practically confirmed something was off. He made a note to himself to ask them about that after this was over with.
He didn’t understand how that fairy thing- Paimon, was talking. Where was she?
“Number 8 of The Eleven. Goes by the name Signora. The fact the Fatui can run amok across the seven nations like they do is entirely because of The Eleven.”
That was his voice talking. Was that what he sounded like? …Whatever, it was just another thing Kaeya had told him about. He had been surprisingly reliable so far, but he still wondered if there was something important he was leaving out.
They entered a large hall, with a large door at the opposite end and two rooms on each side. There was a mechanism in the center that needed a key, and it presumably opened the large door. …If [Y/N]’s system hadn’t taken control of him, everyone could search one room on their own. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, so it was better they stayed together.
They first searched what seemed to be a storage room. No one was there, so they searched every nook and cranny without interruption. At least, until a few Pyro Slimes came out of nowhere, which his abilities couldn’t provide much help with. Sure, if everything was normal, he could use just his sword instead of his Vision, but…
Kaeya and Venti made quick work of the slimes, since Venti could make a massive wind vortex to suck all the slimes in. No key to be found in there. They moved on to the next room, which stood a single guard. He seemed to stop paying attention to anyone other than the Traveler once he started talking to him. The Traveler tried to convince the guy he was part of some alliance and wanted to “borrow” the Holy Lyre, but he obviously didn’t believe it, especially not when he offered a single apple in exchange for it.
A Cicin Mage appeared, and they fought. His Pyro abilities would actually do something here, but [Y/N] still wouldn’t engage in fear they would hurt him too, with how Pyro and Electro interact. It ticked him off a bit. Fight. He told them before they all went in, it was fine if he got a few scratches, just fight, don’t just run around like a headless chicken. Did this have anything to do with them being a pacifist? She’s already attacking you, just defend yourself. Fight. It’s an easy opponent, he could easily take care of her if he could just- fight.
His body stopped for a second, then pulled out a sword he’d only seen in legend, sending off a fiery phoenix at her, setting the blade ablaze. Was he back in control?
[Y/N] screamed, before going completely silent. Diluc heard something fall to the ground with a clatter, and could feel someone watching him in fear. Was that the point Kaeya and Venti were looking at?
He still couldn’t do much. He was only able to mimic the same few repetitive motions, and even those were incredibly difficult. Every movement felt like breaking out of chains. But still, he pushed. How was he able to do this? Kaeya couldn’t escape it after hours, but he could do this after minutes? The mage was defeated, and [Y/N] finally spoke up again.
“I didn’t do any of that. …Diluc?”
He tried to move more freely, but he couldn’t do anything except that same moveset. How did he even do that? He looked around, trying to get the attention of someone, but he realized he was wearing a mask. He had no way to communicate with anyone.
“I… I don’t know, maybe my controller just glitched? Let’s just keep going.”
…There goes any hope of being able to break out of it. He shouldn’t have thought it was that easy. Still, how was he able to control himself at all, even if it was just for a few moments?
They checked the last room that was downstairs, which had a chest with a few Cicins around it. Just like the other enemies here, they weren’t an issue at all. Thankfully, the key was in the chest, and the group managed to open the door. [Y/N] said there was one more fight, and then they could get the Holy Lyre, and this whole thing would be over.
“Hey, you wanna know the guy's name?” [Y/N] asked. They sounded more and more tired by the minute.
“You know his name?” Kaeya scoffed. “If you know that much, you might as well tell us what he says to us.”
He was acting as if he didn’t believe they really could see such things, but he obviously believed it. He was just saying this to squeeze more information out of them, wasn’t he?
“Oh my god, fine, but I’m not going to be able to do stuff like this all the time. First of all, his name is, I hope I’m saying this right, Zamenhoff…? And as soon as we go in there, he says- wait should I do the voice? I’m doing the voice. ‘Where did you rats scurry out from… Signora is not going to tolerate this kind of interference in our affairs. So I'll be the one to take care of you - save her the trouble of having to deal with you herself.’ …I’m sorry. I think I need to go back to sleep.”
That was probably the least professional telling of the future he’s ever heard, but as they walked into the last room, it turned out to be accurate, just as everything else they’ve said has been. They were audibly exhausted, and he could only think of one time they’ve taken something completely seriously. Should he have let them take control of him? It hadn’t gone too horribly yet, and it was almost over, but he started to get a little nervous.
They entered the fight, and once again, he tried to perform those repetitive moves. [Y/N] was actually fighting this time, but he wanted to contribute something as well. They didn’t seem to notice anything was off this time. The Agent was defeated, and finally, he was fully in control of his own body again. He immediately let out a large sigh.
“Signora is going to end you. The songs bards sing of your demise will be so terrifying - the people of Mondstadt will never sleep again for the nightmares they give them.” Said the Agent, now escaping. [Y/N] mocked him while he was saying it, speaking at the same time as him, but in a far more dramatic tone.
They mocked Paimon too, even trying to match her high-pitched voice. He will admit he found it a bit funny, but he kept a straight face, unlike the other two, who couldn’t help but chuckle. She shot them a look before vanishing again.
“You alright?” [Y/N] asked him.
“Well, I’m not dead, so that’s something.” That… definitely could have gone better.
“So… Back to the tavern now, right? Wait, Venti, aren’t you still wanted?”
“Ahh… That may be a problem… But can’t we just teleport back?” Venti sheepishly said.
“We can only teleport to waypoints, at least as far as I know, and the nearest waypoint is right next to the plaza with all of the shops. I know it’s literally the middle of the night, but I don’t think we can be sure there won’t be anyone out. I don’t want someone seeing people appear out of nowhere.” [Y/N] had a point. Doing that when someone was near may have consequences.
“So I suppose we’re walking, then? I’ll walk ahead, and make sure any Knights patrolling at this time are… looking the other way.” Kaeya said, already going ahead of everyone else.
No one said a word for a bit. Venti had a slightly worried expression on his face, as if he was hoping whatever plan he had would work. [Y/N]’s avatar had that same expressionless face as always, which was… creepy, sometimes, but they seemed like they weren’t paying attention to anything now. Normally Diluc wasn’t one to break the silence, but he had something to say now.
“That wasn’t an issue with your controller earlier, [Y/N].”
“...Hmm?” They replied. They sounded… completely out of it. So you did that? How?”
“I don’t know. I hope you don’t take any offense to this, but your… pacifism doesn’t exactly suit the way I do things, so, I broke out of it, in a way. I wasn’t able to fully break it, but I managed to do something.”
“So the solution to breaking out of it… is to just break out of it. Wow…!” They sarcastically said, before walking their avatar into a tree.
“I don’t mean for it to sound like that. I’m guessing I had enough willpower to resist your system a little. Again, not all the way, but I think I was able to at least do what you could.”
“That’s so weird… I think I’m gonna have to set aside some time to take a closer look at my system and figure out what’s up sometime.” They yawned. “But definitely not tonight…”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
…God, you were tired. What the hell had happened in that domain? Somehow Diluc had managed to fight against your system, and do a bit on his own. How? No clue, but it was a nice surprise.
You remembered that quest on that far-away island that you couldn’t finish the first day. After this, maybe you could beg Venti to take you there so you could finally finish it. There was still about… what? An hour and a half? before you were able to continue it. Yeah, never mind, screw that. There was no way you’d be able to stay awake that much longer. That nap just made you more tired. Guess that quest’ll stay unfinished…
The four of you finally got back to the tavern. Thankfully, Kaeya managed to keep any Knights from seeing you. You pulled up the Wiki again, and found your way to the page on the part of the quest you were at.
Sure, Kaeya was there instead of Jean, but everyone else’s lines were still the same. It looked like things would be on the right track. You repeated everyone’s lines as they said them, but only vocalizing Paimon’s, while just mouthing Diluc and Venti’s to not weird them out too much.
“From now on, you’ll be known as-” Oh, this part, where Paimon gives him a nickname and refuses to call him by his actual name ever again!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Tone-deaf bard!” said Paimon and [Y/N] simultaneously. The bard didn’t seem too bothered by his new nickname.
So not only could [Y/N] could just pull up a word-for-word script of the “story” they knew whenever they wanted, but said story was accurate, also down to the word? That’s… concerning.
It had been a very long day… Kaeya hoped he could finally get some sleep. Everyone bid their farewells after agreeing to continue in the morning, and he left. Venti was still wanted, right? That may cause some problems. He made a mental note to tell Jean that the Holy Lyre was in safe hands first thing in the morning.
Again, he teleported to the Knights Headquarters, but now, he remembered why they didn’t teleport back to the tavern. Was anyone watching? He looked around, and could see no one. As for the last time he did this… He didn’t check, did he? …Whatever, it should be fine. He made his way to his dorm, and, now feeling he had enough energy to do so, actually did his nighttime routine rather than just passing out. He stayed awake for quite a while, making notes and pacing around before he finally felt tired enough to be able to sleep through the night.
Those thoughts of [Y/N]’s “story” continued as he drifted to sleep.
--------------------------------------------------------
“But I shall not bow to the will of fate. I am no pawn in heaven's plan.”
…Here he was, acting in a play, as a character destined for tragedy. Seemed familiar. His character was supposed to simply accept it, yet “he” had decided to improv a section on defying fate.
Despite this being “improv”, it was obvious all of this, scripted parts included, was supposed to reflect his own story. He’d noticed the similarities when he first heard of the story, though he didn’t fully remember when that was, but it seemed even more accurate now, looking at it from a different view.
The truth was, the improv was no less scripted than the rest of the play, nor anything else he’d experienced for that matter. This “play” began much before this street performance.
Even though it felt as if it had been years, he still remembered the beginning as clear as day.
When the Traveler first appeared in Mondstadt, he was unable to clearly remember anything prior to when they arrived. Hell, other than the most major events in his life, he couldn’t remember anything at all, and even those major events were fuzzy. He knew his interests, and his relationships with people, but it was like he had some strange form of amnesia. He’d wanted to tell someone about what he was going through, but every time he got a chance, he would black out, and wake up somewhere completely different.
To him, it hadn’t even been that long since he’d first noticed, but already, days had gone by. He “woke up” again outside of Good Hunter, in the middle of a conversation with the Traveler about something he couldn’t recall thinking about. It had been days. The periods of time he was being knocked out for were getting longer. He had to say something as soon as possible, but he found he couldn’t control what he was saying.
He quickly realized that he was bound to some sort of script. Sure, “fate” served as a loose script, but this was word for word. He wondered whether this was happening to anyone else, but had no way to check, since he was either stuck to this script or unconscious.
It would sometimes be months at a time now he would be unconscious, almost like slipping into a coma. The Traveler was there with him wherever he was, so he assumed they must have something to do with it, but he hoped they didn’t know they did. Maybe then he could still tolerate them.
Over time, it seemed like the writer started to tease him more and more. It started with a few jokes from “him” hinting at it being some kind of story, and now it was a whole play.
He was an actor, playing a character, playing a character destined for tragedy. The only difference between this play and his experiences was that in reality, he was given no choice on whether to take the role.
This little improv session with Prince Qubad made the audience think he refused to accept the fate he was given, that he rejected it entirely, but the story still ended in the same way it was written.
As he looked at it now, he was no different from Prince Qubad in this story. Or at least, “Kaeya” wasn’t. He knew how Qubad’s story was similar to his, yes, but this improv session added something to it.
There were two layers to the scripting. One was fate itself. Destiny. Most people knew about this, and it could be seen fairly easily, only needing the help of some magic. This already seemed like enough restriction, as it was supposedly extremely difficult to change, but there was even more on top of that, at least for him.
It looked like in the future, “he” would have to make a very important decision, and end up choosing a secret third option. While this would be rejecting his fate in terms of what the people of Teyvat consider it to be, he would still be following the narrative this second, stricter script had for him.
…Oh, the irony. Just like the play, the character is written to refuse fate. Sure, the original script may not have included that, just as “his” original fate does not include what he’s likely to do.
He’d been wondering whether he should keep trying to break out of this. Obviously, doing so would grant him back autonomy, but it would also be following the whole “defying fate” path set for him by whatever scripted this. Either way, he was still playing right into its hands.
“Perhaps there's an inept god out there deciding everyone's fates... much like the Akademiya student drafting Darbil's scripts. Yep, "inept" is a good word for it. Honestly, it might even be a little too civil to describe a god who turns fathers against their sons and is bent on endless warmongering... don't you think?”
Either somehow, he had managed to change the script slightly with his thoughts, or the writers were mocking him.
…It was the latter, wasn’t it? “He” continued on about how someone doesn’t have to follow the script if they don’t like it, like it was just that easy. He’d made up his mind. He had to get out of this, no matter if that was what the writers wanted.
The conversation was coming to an end now, he could feel it. The Traveler was about to leave, and from what he knew about their journey, they likely wouldn’t be seeing him again any time soon. Any second now, the Traveler would disappear, and he would be knocked out for gods know how long. Couldn’t they just stay a little longer…?

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐬? 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐌𝐲 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐰!
☾☼✧☽ summary: some Mondstadt girlies helping you through finals
☾☼✧☽ pairing: lisa, jean, amber, and lumine (separate) x gn!reader
☾☼✧☽ type: headcannons, modern-ish au?
☾☼✧☽ warnings: FINALS STRESS
☾☼✧☽ a/n: tried my hand at writing these characters! I’m not taking requests for Genshin characters yet but I probably will soon. In the middle of the forever long Sumeru archon quest rn.
▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢
Lisa ✧
Is she flirtatious? Sure. Is she still an academic weapon from her years at the Akademiya? Certainly!
Lisa would assist you with your studies and review of topics.
She’s definitely one to run flash cards with you over tea and a few pastries.
“Ah, not quite cutie, but you’re close.”
You walk in the library with your shoulders slumped with a list of topics you need reference material for.
But she’s there with a stack of books for the topics you need
“I took a peek at your list and pulled these for you. No sense in you spending all that time searching when I know where they are.”
She would loan you her lucky pen ( quill??) to actually take your exam
Insisting that it got her through many exams successfully at the Akademiya
Definitely slips a relaxing alchemical concoction into your drink before the exam to calm your nerves
“Whether you pass or not, you’re still extra special to me.”
Jean ✧
Jean is adamant about following a healthy work and rest schedule.
She’s setting her watch to ring when you need to take a break and rest your eyes from reader
Insisting you drink a certain amount of water everyday to ensure you are hydrated.
She’s even planning/cooking your meals so your brain can have the proper fuel it needs to function at full capacity.
“I just want you to have everything you need to study well.”
She’s a busy lady, so…..don’t know how much she would actually help you study
Would probably find time to possibly quiz you on material once or twice before your exam
“You did well that time. I marked the areas need to study. I know you’ll do fine with them though.”
Jean will not budge on the fact you aren’t allowed to study or do anything mentally taxing the night before the exam.
She makes you a healthy meal, practically shoves water down your throat, and insists you get to bed early. She even puts her work away and goes to bed early with you.
Amber ✧
Oh Amber, the super encouraging one who is constantly reminding you amazing you are doing
She’ll see you struggling and come behind you to put a hand on your shoulder and say with a smile
“You’ve got it! If anyone can do it, you can.”
She lets you hold Barron Bunny while you study, petting him and scratching behind his ears.
You read quietly to yourself as he curls up in your lap, Amber can’t resist but take a picture so she can remember it forever.
Amber makes you flash cards and helps you go over them too!
She’s definitely one for speed rounds, wanting you be able to recall the knowledge quickly.
“You’ve almost got it! You’ll get it next time though.”
Lumine ✧
Lumine is a calming spirit through the whirlwind of studying and prepping
Imagining she would offer to read some of your material out loud to you if you wish, her voice calming your nerves as every second passes.
Lumine would ask you questions every so often as she read, to make sure you were still with her.
“I think that answer is good…make sure you’re remembering why that happened though.”
Lumine is an excellent cook and wants to ensure you stay fed. Unlike Jean though, she’ll make you whatever you are craving.
Sweet Madame? Done and perfectly cooked. Mushroom Skewer that she doesn’t have ingredients for? She’s out the door going to find the ingredients.
“Paimon thinks the traveler like reading to you so she can be around you.”
Yeah……Paimon may ruin the calming mood sometimes, but she means well!
The night before your exam, Lumine makes you your favorite desert and sets up a nice picnic for you <3

Jean Gunnhildr N.S.F.W. Headcannons
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Miss Dandelion Tights Herself!
Warnings: NSFW HEADCANNONS MINORS DNI!!!
Wordcount: 1,621
Time To Write: 1 Hour 17 Min
(Also I’ve said it once and I’ll probably say it a thousand times more, thank god for my favorite Arctic Monkeys album FAVORITE WORST NIGHTMARE!!! Otherwise I’d never be able to get into the right headspace for stuff like this on my own! Oh and honorable mention to the albums Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not, AM, Humbug, and Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino.)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
First of all, she’s exhausted, whenever the dandelion knight gets in the mood her already inhuman stamina is multiplied tenfold, so the only way either of you are getting to the end of the night satisfied is through a loooooot of sex, after all that the two of you probably do the bare minimum to get clean before finally getting to sleep.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
While Jean would never EVER admit it to anyone but you out of fear of what Lisa would do with the information if it ever got into her hands but Jean is quite proud of her thighs, she isn’t called Dandelion Tights without reason after all. As for her favorite body part of yours it would have to be your mouth, she doesn’t have any reason in particular for this other than what it could do to her.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
For her Cum holds a certain value depending on how it was acquired, if it was just regular sex she couldn’t care less but if it was slowly and methodically worked towards over the night, well… Jean intends to enjoy her reward whether it be yours or hers.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
She Loves being the bottom, not working on the infinite complaints and requests of Mondstadt’s people, not ensuring that one of the more… energetic knights didn’t cause havoc, just following the orders given to her with ease and without thought, giving her instant gratification in more ways than one.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
Jean has never really had the time to even try and cultivate a relationship, much less to the point where she would be able to get into the more intimate aspects of one, honestly she thanks Barbatos every day that you have the patience to deal with her.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
It changes from day to day but she will always be partial to The Flatiron (Stand And Deliver Is A Close Second Though), Lying facedown on the bed, her legs straight, hips slightly raised, breasts squished into the bed, unable to see you behind her as you devour her with your eyes and run your hands over every inch of her body before leaning down on top of her to bite and nibble at her neck, shoulders, and ears, it’s enough to make her cream herself even before you enter her.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
Usually she’s just… electric, if that makes any sense, it’s like someone shot pure electro energy into her veins. She couldn’t be serious about this if she tried but she’s not goofy either, for her the anticipation and then the reward of it all almost overwhelms her.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Jean Gunnhildr is many things, well groomed is most definitely one of them, she’s not quite clean shaven but she doesn’t have a bush either, at the worst Jean will only ever let it get to the point where a single thick tuft of hair is directly over her lips.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
Jean loves her intimacy, again because she’s never really had the chance to be truly intimate with anyone before you so be ready for her to bare it all to you.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Jean rarely has the opportunity to actually jack off and usually by the time she has the time to do so she could just go and have sex with you, however if your unavailable she’ll do one of two things, wait till the two of you can bang, she does this one most often, or jack off to the thought of you tying her up in her room with whatever variety of toys that come to her mind first stuffed inside of her and just leaving them on the lowest setting, not quite enough to tip her over the edge without a little help but more than enough to put her on that razor’s edge of pain and pleasure she loves, she rarely does this because its just not as good as the real thing.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Bondage, she’s not into the real heavy stuff but something like Shibari or a more simple rope bondage in a similar vein is something she loves to feel on her skin, not to mention it’s pretty much Jean’s way of telling you that she trusts you enough to hand over nearly all control to you.
Jean also has a breeding kink but she won’t ever admit it.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
She has fantasized about doing it in the Grandmaster’s Office but if anyone came in and saw her she’d likely die on the spot from the shame. So she settles for her room, and if she’s feeling adventurous she’ll let you fuck her against the window.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Jean usually doesn’t have a high sex drive, however she does sometimes go weeks without any form of release so as soon as she’s in the mood it usually means that she drags you off somewhere the second she’s off for the few days of the month she can slip away from her duties.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Anything to do with blades, not because she doesn’t like them but because they’re a bit too easy to her, cold steel stroking across skin that burns like fire, the sensation, the edge, the thought of the sting from a shallow cut, makes it all a bit too fast for Jean’s liking, for her it’s all about the build up to the release before finally, finally exploding in euphoria when she can’t hold back the depraved pleasure that roiled inside of her any longer, to Jean blades cheapen that.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
She prefers giving oral, especially if she’s tied up and you're the one setting the pace of it all. Locking her in place with your hand or leg, forcing her to give it to you with her mouth, it makes her feel so damn good.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
To Jean having no control in the pace is all apart of the fun for her, you could be slowly making love to her before switching to violently fucking her brains out or vice versa and the effect on Jean would be the same.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Jean is not all too fond of quickies, she admits that they have their place but it's all about the tension to her, if she’s sufficiently horny a quickie will either temporarily relieve the tension or make it s thousand times worse.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Jean is plenty fine with experimenting, risks however aren’t really things she’s fond of unless it’s in small amounts, copping a feel here, a sensual kiss here and there, blowing her back out against the window in her room once in awhile are pretty much the extent of the risks she’s willing to take.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Jean’s record is from noon to midnight, I’ll let that speak for itself.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Jean has an extensive set of ropes, blindfolds, bindings, and a handful of toys that were a gift from Lisa that ranged from Dildo’s to Bullet Vibrator’s, but she never really had any reason to use them except for when she was exceptionally frustrated until you came around, after that, well, Jean feels a lot less like stabbing Lisa whenever she thinks about receiving them on her birthday, if only slightly.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
She’s not usually much of a tease unless it’s in private, even then it’s not much aside from her grinding into you which usually sends the message about what she’s in the mood for.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
Jean only ever gets loud when she’s getting close, and when she reaches that point, well, it’s a good thing that Mondstadt buildings are built with thick walls.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
Whenever Jean gets sufficiently Horny she will drop all pretense and just drag you away to wherever she wants to bang, this has led to more than a few impromptu sessions on the floor of the living room and to the two of you having to get more than a few new rugs.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Jean wears a simple white Bra and panties most day’s, however she will occasionally go without one or the other if it's swelteringly hot outside, however this is extremely rare.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Jean usually doesn’t have a high sex drive, however she does sometimes go weeks without any form of release so as soon as she’s in the mood it usually means that she drags you off somewhere the second she’s off for the few days of the month she can slip away from her duties.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
Pretty much instantly after she’s done the bare minimum to get you both cleaned up.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
I'm going to do one more fluffy one then I think I'll do something angsty, it'll also be a good excuse to write a fight scene which I think I'm pretty moderately good at.

Whumptober day 10 with Brother!Bennet!
Prompt: You said you'd never leave
they/them pronouns used
Whumptober Masterlist
she/her version, he/him version
Summary: You promised Bennet that you'd stay with him despite his misfortune. But what happens when you break that promise?
Warnings: Blood, gore, burns, graphic injuries, alludes to death, pain, broken bones, missiles/rockets (ruin guard)
When Bennet was adopted by the adventurer's guild, you were asked to look after him.
Of course you accepted.
Something about him just drew you in.
Next thing you know, you have a little brother who's with you every second of the day.
You taught him how to use a sword, How to control his vision when he got it, how to treat wounds, how to cook.
Even if he tripped over his own feet, burned his vision a little too hot, used too much ointment or burnt the food, you never gave up caring for him.
When he was a little older, he started worrying about his bad luck making you go away like it had so many other people in his life.
But time after time he brought it up, you assured him that you would never leave him. That you’d always stick by his side. You’d always be there to patch him up, to wipe his tears, to hold him when the nights got a little too dark.
Whenever he asked why you’d always reply
“It’s what big siblings are for”
The first time you called yourself his sibling he cried.
He clutched his heart and smiled as big ugly tears ran down his face.
After that he made it a point to call you his older sibling, never failing to try and be the best younger brother he could.
The two of you often did everything together.
And that used to include commissions too- until you joined the knights.
Not much changed really, you were still as close as ever, only now you couldn’t help him on commissions..
It worried you at first, when he started coming back covered in more and more bruises and scratches, less treasure from the chests.. And less people in his team.
You were annoyed at the people who had left his team, especially when he was so proud to have formed it in the first place.
But when he never stopped smiling, and continued on with resilience even hardened adventurers didn’t have.
Over time your fears and worries all but subsided. You knew Bennet would not give up no matter what came his way in the future.
And for the most part, everything was manageable. A few scrapes, a few bad commissions. Nothing serious..
Until one day Bennet hadn’t come home.
Bennet was always home before you were, usually he’d prepare some tea or coffee or whatever your usual drink is for you.
But today he wasn’t there.
Most people would probably wait, simply thinking he’d gotten caught up with something.
But you knew better. Bennet would always find some way to let you know if he was going to be late. Always.
You ran to Kathryn and asked where his commission was. Sensing your distress, she told you
Stormterror’s lair.
The pit in your stomach grew. Stormterror’s lair was dangerous. Everyone knew this. The fact that that was where Bennet was, and he was late? Something was wrong.
You never ran so fast. You let Lawrence and Swan know to send backup as you ran out the gate, thinking of nothing but finding your brother.
When you made it to Stormterror’s lair, you heard a yell of ‘help!’ echo around the air.
“Bennet! Where are you?!”
You ran in the direction of the voice, your feet aching from previously running all the way from Mondstadt.
You hear your name.
You come to a halt when you see him; foot trapped underneath fallen rubble, scratches and bruises all over.
“I knew you’d find me! My bad luck is no match against my big sibling!” Despite his words and smile, you were not blind to the tear tracks in the dirt of his face.
He was expecting to die here.
Your heart clenched.
“That’s right. No matter what happens. I’ll always be there to beat your bad luck.”
Your words of comfort seemed to have spurred the universe on to spite you.
The familiar, dreadful sound of a ruin guard powering up reached both of your ears.
No wasting more time, you tried to lift the stones off Bennet’s foot- said boy gritted his teeth in clear pain.
Before you have the chance to move the rubble off of Bennet’s foot, you move to defend him from the incoming rockets.
You just pray to Barbatos, as you brace yourself to take the hit, that you survive.
The small rockets collide with the ground next to you, the heat of the explosions seering your skin.
This is fine.
They missed.
Just have to hurry before it figures out the angle.
If only you had remembered your weapon in your panic to find Bennet. Then you could have taken it out.
But alas, it would seem you’ve escaped the bad luck for too long.
Before you get a grip on the debris again, you feel another barrage of mini missiles collide with your back.
You refuse to scream. But you can’t hold back the groan as you feel your skin melt under the heat, blisters forming along your back.
The sticky sensation of warm blood from where the body of the missiles collided runs down your back.You can barely think. It hurts so much.
But you must get him out of here.
“Hey! Stop! Get out of here! Please! Don’t risk your life for mine, I'm begging you!” Bennet sobs as he watches your face contort in pain above him.
“Don’t worry kid. I’m not going anywhere, and I sure as hell am not dying here. I will get you out of here- I’ll get us both out of here.”
You can’t manage to lift the stones in the time you have between attacks.
You have no choice. You just have to shield him with your body until help arrives.
You position yourself in front of Bennet, bracing yourself for what you know is coming.
Another round strikes you.
Your skin burns. No- it boils.
The heat melts your skin and the molten metal fuses to your flesh.
You can feel your ribs crack and break from the sheer force of the impact.
It’s at this moment you’re glad the machine isn’t closer to you- If it were, the impact of the rockets would surely impale you.
You bite your lip, drawing blood. You refuse to make him feel worse by screaming or crying. But you don’t know how much longer you can hold.
“Please!! STOP!!” Bennet pleaded with you
More missiles. More sticky blood. More broken bones.
“I beg you! Please just run!”
More Missiles. Melted skin.
“You said you’d never leave! I can’t watch you die!”
You manage a smile.
“Exactly. I said I’d never leave. I don’t plan on leaving you here, and I don’t plan on dying.”
More missiles. This time you screamed. Your flesh has been burned to the bone. At least you can’t feel your back anymore; the nerves are all burnt away.
Bennet is no longer forming coherent words, just a mix of sobs and “please” and “this is my fault”
You look down and see you’re standing in a puddle of blood and flesh. The tar like concoction reeks of rotten meat and charred flesh.
Just as you’re about to think about giving up-
“There they are!”
The missiles stop, being redirected somewhere else.
The voice in your mind faintly registers the voice of Kaeya along with other knights.
They’re here.
You lasted long enough.
You fall to your knees, heaving air into your burnt lungs.
Bennet was safe. He’d be ok.
“Hey! C’mon You said you wouldn’t leave me! We’re so close, please!” Bennet’s voice is hoarse, and it cracks as he pleads with you once more.
Your vision is foggy and sounds are muffled. The adrenaline has begun to wear off. It hurts.
It hurts.
You barely register being picked up.
You blink.
You blink slow.
And you don’t open your eyes again.
…
At least, not yet they don’t.
