New product in my Gumroad store: Gesso Ground Textures! . Amazingly useful gesso textures to overlay onto your digital paintings. They are a collection of high-res layered PSDs that you can use in Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Clip Studio Paint for iOS, or any software that reads and imports Photoshop’s adjustment layers. . Using them is two easy steps: 1. Import into your document 2. Adjust the opacity See a short video on my YouTube channel to see them in action.  . Very simple and straightforward! Make sure to use them in subtle ways. You don’t want the texture to overpower your piece, just inform it a little, providing a layer of detail that helps viewers find something familiar and traditional. . Reuben Lara here! I can’t tell you how excited that CSP has come to the iPad Pro! They’ve done an incredible job, because as far as I can tell so far, the entire program has been ported over, every menu item and workflow is there, including my favorite of all, the animation timeline! I really can’t believe that so much has been packed into this app. The brush engine feels identical and the menu system is one-to-one with the desktop app. The animation i’m working on here is about 3000px square, so it’s a little larger than I’d usually be animating at, and because of the size of the frames I’m pushing around, the timeline scrubbing is a bit laggy, but it’s completely acceptable for me for what it’s accomplishing. I started this piece on the desktop, and now I’m able to finish roughing out some frames on the iPad, which means i can be out of my office getting work done! At the moment, Celsys is still working out the Clip Studio cloud file system, but they’ve already enabled save to Dropbox and import from Dropbox functionality, so I’m already able to work between systems. If you’ve never had the budget or circumstances to get a Wacom tablet, this may be the software that gets you up and running in the digital painting and animating space. If you’ve never used it before, check out my free tutorials on Youtube and Gumroad. Everything you learn for the desktop applies to the iPad version. Hey everyone! This is the month Clip Studio users are excited about the potential of the new iOS app.  . Let's hope Celsys listens to it's huge fan base and changes their mind about the high subscription price tag they have planned!  . But in the meantime, while it's still free, keep discovering how incredible this mobile app is. I own a Cintiq myself, and while I wouldn't call the iPad/Clip Studio solution a complete replacement for being able to work on a full blown operating system, there is a very unique place that a powerful tablet app has in the art creation workflow.  Being able to step away from my workstation and do some solid work on the couch, go outside for a change of scenery and sketch, sit on a couch at Home Goods while my wife is shopping, and in the space of 15 minutes, accomplish some heavy lifting on actual high-res production files... it really is a game changer for me. This is the first app i've seen that successfully manages to mirror a full-blown desktop experience and still be usable and productive in the keyboard-less/mobile environment...on a 9" iPad no less. . I'm a huge fan of other apps like Procreate, which are a joy to sketch and conceptualize in. But being able to have persistent palettes onscreen, work with brushes that blend so beautifully, save and work in 'native' PSD format and customize virtually every aspect of my workspace is not something I can easily ignore.  .
