My favorite makeup products for warm toned brown skin

I love makeup a lot, it's an amazing form of self expression that I, and many others adore. However; it can be hard to find shades that show up on your skin when most influencers promoting these products have fair skin. Today, I'll be posting about some of my favorite products that work for me as a brown person with oily skin :)

R.E.M. Beauty Lip & cheek stick in opening night - $18 USD

I love this because it blends out nicely and can be used for a nice monochromatic look. It's a little bit on the pricier side though, but I feel like it's worth the price.

Colourpop Sonic Bloom Palette - $18 USD

This was my first eyeshadow palette and honestly, one of my favorites. It has a lot of beautiful warm toned shadows that are great for medium warm skin. I will say that the shades Lunar Disco and Cosmic don't show up on me as well though, as they're too close to my skin tone or barely lighter but I've found use for them as bases to go over my primer if I want a smoother, matte look.

Morphe x Pony Constellation Sky Artistry Palette - $36 USD

Okay, I know what you're probably thinking. These shades are going to be ashy, aren't they? Not in my experience. I can't speak for Morphe as a brand in general, since this is my only palette by them, but I found the shades in here to be smooth and blendable. The lighter shades are very pigmented, and show up on my skin, and work great as inner corner highlights. I was also really surprised that the shade Ddalgi didn't look ashy on me as a blush. I love that you can create more colorful looks or neutral looks, this palette really was designed as an all in one, and Pony killed it on the shades in here. The only negative thing I can really say about this palette is that the shades Inner, Ruby, and Glistening may get harder in the pan, preventing you from picking up the pigment easily. I usually solve this by gently scraping the top of my shadow to get the powder beneath it.

Juvia's Place The Festival Liquid Lipstick in Dudu - $12 USD

This is an AMAZINGLY pigmented black lipstick. I love Juvia's place so much, all of their products are super pigmented and they have a lot of sales, making it relatively approachable for someone new to makeup. One swipe gives me all the pigment I need. My only complaint is that it isn't transfer proof, but I think it's worth it for the sheer amount of color packed into this little tube of goth magic.

Elf CC Camo Cream - $15 USD

I personally use the shade Tan 245 N, and I think it's a great price, lovely coverage, and applies really smoothly on my skin. As a disclaimer though, I prefer more sheer foundations, so this may be on the lighter coverage side.

Colourpop Dream Big Palette Vault - $74 USD

I received this as a Christmas gift one year and honestly, it is one of my favorite things ever. The shadows are pigmented and all of the palettes have an attached mirror. I will say though that if you don't have any nude shades yet, buy those before this. This set lacks pinks and nude shades, which may be fine for you but I find myself using these as a compliment to my Blush Crush Palette ($14 USD) and Send Nudes Palette ($14 USD) which are also by Colourpop.

e.l.f. Hydrating Core Lip Shine in Ecstatic - $7

Not only is this a dupe for Clinique's Black Honey, it's super hydrating, affordable, and cute.

Holiday Gift Guide

In this post I’ll be sharing (and linking) some of my favorites or things that are on my wishlist as gift inspiration. Sadly I couldn’t put pictures for all of them so I decided to leave them all off. Let me know if any links are wrong or don’t work.

1. Sugarfix by Baublebar Ballet Slipper Earrings

I saw these in the store and fell in love. Kinda of heavy but very pretty.

2. How To Raise A Plant

I don’t own this yet but I feel like I need to.

3. Taylor Swift Lover Vinyl Set

I haven’t got to open this yet but the outside is so beautiful and if the inside is half as stunning I’ll be so happy.

4. Travel Jewelry Organizer

This is both pretty and practical. Yup absolutely need to try and get one. They come in different sizes, shapes and colors too.

5. Morphe 2 Quad Goals Multi-Palette (shade Pink Please)

I just got this the other day and I can’t wait to use it. There’s two powder shades (eye and blush) and two cream shades (lip and highlight) to create a full look. It also comes in a few other shades like purple and neutrals.

6. Essie Nail Polish in All Dolled Up

This is the prettiest hot pink shade I’ve ever found. I love it. I also recommend the shades Birthday Girl, Ballet Sneakers, Baguette Me Not, Free To Roam, and Turquoise and Caicos.

7. La Chatelaine Hand Cream

A friend of mine got me this exact set a while back and I love them. I carry one of them in my purse at all times. They smell amazing too. They have tons of different scents and sets too. You can also get a single one in pretty much any scent you want.

8. Florence By Mills Get Glossed Lip Gloss in Mellow Mills

It’s such a pretty cool toned pink. And the packaging is adorable.

9. Milani Highlighter Duo

These are super inexpensive and the pigmentation is amazing. I have the shade Supercharged.

10. Kuerig K-Mini in Dusty Rose

My sister and I both love this thing. And it’s on sale a lot so you can get it for almost half price.

11. Tarte Sugar Rush Best Buds Lip Butter

These are super cute and smell nice as well. And the actual balm is pretty nice too.

12. Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream

This was originally my favorite perfume. I still love it.

13. Replica Flower Market

My current favorite. I highly recommend it.

14. Chloé Roses De Chloé

One of my first favorites. Still high up on the list.

15. Gucci Lipsticks

I’ve linked the matte formula but there’s a few others including a balm. This is an item I still have on my list.

16. OPI Princesses Rule

I saw someone mention it on TikTok. I had to buy it. I’m not disappointed.

17. Too Faced Peach Bloom Lip Balm

Sadly I think they’re discontinuing these so grab one while you can.

18. Clinique Pop Lipsticks

I have the matte shade Peony Pop and the crème shade Sweet Pop. They’re really nice lipsticks.

19. Poppin Pens in Blush

They’re nice pens and they’re pretty. Not much else to say.

20. Pink Switch Controller

I have this and it’s the prettiest shade of pink. Perfect for when it’s cold and you’re stuck inside playing Animal Crossing

21. Switch Accessories

Also very pretty. Makes an ugly Switch more aesthetically pleasing.

22. Bunny Phone Holder

Super handy and cute.

23. Chanel Eyeshadow Quad

Honestly some of the best shadows I’ve ever used. I love them. I own 308 Clair Obscur.

24. Chanel Lipstick

It’s a nice lipstick in pretty packaging. I have shade 186 Sensible.

25. Jimmy Choo Floral

My everyday fragrance.

26. Clinique Cheek Pop Blush

I have the shade pink pop. My everyday blush. It’s not super pigmented so it’s easy to have a light flush or a super intense flush.

27. NYX Milky Gloss

I have the shade Milk it Pink. It’s pretty sheer and similar toe the Florence one but it doesn’t have the slight plumping feeling on the other.

28. Wet N Wild Cloud Pout Marshmallow Lip Mousse

I have the shade Cotton Candy Skies. It’s a really pretty pink and it’s not uncomfortable. It’s also super inexpensive.

29. Lime Crime Wet Cherry Lip Gloss

I have the shade Baby Cherry. It’s warmer than the other two and a lot glossier.

30. Burt’s Bees Wild Rose and Berry Lip Butter

A really nice, thick lip balm.

32. Tangle Teaser

I’ve had mine for years. There’s a reason my sister keeps stealing it.

33. Smith & Cult Nail Polish

I linked the shade Pillow Pie (a nice pale blush color) but I also like Ponies Dancing In The Snow (a brighter pink and silver fine glitter).

34. Guerlain Custom Lipsticks

I have shade 77 with the K Doll case. These are expensive but the component is nice and the lipsticks stays really well.

These are from Macarooz. I’ve had them before and they’re nice. Sadly they don’t have my favorite flavor anymore.

37. Macaron Shaped Box

I bought one of these a while back and it’s not only cute but pretty handy. I’ve used mine for small round lip balms, crystals, hair ties and jewelry.

These can be worn with skirts or dress and tights or socks or you could style them with pants and a sweater.

You get two nudes and a pink for $12 which is about $3 cheaper than buying them alone. They’re some of their best sellers. The formula is really nice.

- my alarm to wake up and go buy my sale items at ulta woke me up from the strangest dream ever. i was in elementary school and friends with the child version of lil wayne? and we got off the bus together in the am and went to breakfast and i sat across from him. and then somehow i was sitting on the other side of the table as an adult, and one of the guys from my elementrary school walked up out of no where in like this leather jacket (looking like a snack i might add) and like was like “oh hey (ew)” at me in like the sense that, like, i fucked him and then never called him back. and then i spent from there until my alarm woke me up trying to figure out how i was going to win him back. HUH?

- went to ulta to get all my stuff for the employee sale: 1 clinique giftbox set (3 XL sizes of wash, toner, moisturizer + 3 travel sizes + cute bag), Universal Clinique Primer, IT Brushes set (foundation, powder, shadow), 4-pk Real Techiniques Sponges, Tony Moly Paint Pack in Charcoal, medium size ulta-brand nail polish remover ($.47 cents ya’ll!!), OPI in Holidazes Over You ($1.45!!!!), Benefit holiday gift set (the one that’s like the ball on the stand: full size roller lash mascara, full sized high brow, mini california blush)....
