obx 4 spoilers *rant*

i’m sorry, but this show should’ve ended after season 3. they should’ve just had a happy ending? in my opinion s4 isn’t canon to me anymore and i will not be watching season five.. and im sure many other people won’t be either.

if i knew this would be the outcome then i would’ve rather they just gave us a mini short film after season 3 that just shows the pogues’ life after finding El Dorado.. like showing us how they built the shop, sarah and john b start a family, jiara and cleopope endgame. no chandler groff bs because imo the whole “luke isn’t jj’s real dad” thing was rushed. they screwed up by doing this .. and don’t even get me started on the unprofessionalism that goes on in the cast. no matter rudy’s reason for leaving or the whole “we’ve had jj’s death planned for a while” the writers js screwed up their whole show.. killing off THE FAN FAVORITE and THE MOST FAVORITE SHIP IN THE SHOW just proves they rly dgaf and rudy never did either 😭

what happened to a show about 16-17 year olds enjoying their time on a damn boat and surfing? why the fuck are we killing off a main character.. the deaths are getting rly old and atp just cancel season five because fuck that

What I found weird with the time jump in terms of jiara is that they showed us jarah and cleopope interacting in a way that showed they were together but not jiara and now I'm kind of worried bc it is definitely a weird choice???

Firstly, the time jump definitely sucked. It's one of the very few things I think I'd change about this season. I get that there were some reasons for them doing it, but we'd just got two new couples established and have missed out on the chance to see them settle into these new relationships.

As for how they executed the time jump, that also might be a little flawed. For me personally, I couldn't tell if JJ and Kie were still together after the time jump. I wish that hadn't remained ambiguous. I know it's been said that a show of outward public affection may not be Jiara's love language, but I don't entirely agree with that.

However, I don't think that there's much to be worried about over Jiara being endgame. This show isn't like a soap opera or Riverdale where people change or let go of partners easily. The relationships they've put onto the screen are lasting and I think their time in Poguelandia really solidified the foundations for that. Jiara was an excellent buildup and I don't think that will be put aside without explanation over a (much too long) time jump. It was nice to see Jarah and Cleopope clearly happy together in their romantic relationships, though I do wish we had gotten to see Jiara in their romantic relationship past 3x09.
