Repost •Wisdom from a legend: @clemensmitscher This is to prepare you (only) for the biggest rock & roll band I've ever photographed. A Place to Bury Strangers. More pictures will follow. I've seen them all over the world: In Liverpool, in Cologne, in Portugal, in Eindhoven, in Los Angeles, at the Desert Daze Festival and in Austin Texas. For a rock & roll photographer it's the biggest challenge of all. APTBS explode every chip of a digital camera. Images are created in the mind. Rock & Roll in the body. The retina collapses. The senses disappear. The bodies of the audience become machines in the intoxication of madness. I said to Oliver yesterday: after Elvis came London Calling and after London Calling came APTBS. There's hardly anything in between that celebrates the spirit of Rock & Roll. It's like a Combine Painting of the forces of nature. All of them are lovable people. On stage they become monsters. No dream can ever reproduce that. Thank you Oliver, Dion and Lea for all that. @levitation @aptbs @dionlunadon @deathbyaudioeffects #levitation #clemensmitscher (at Barracuda Austin) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4vLKXAJRSx/?igshid=1r25ztz6y953k

We are in Indianapolis tonight at @thehifiindy with @kraustx & @gimmesomeservice. “Photo” by #clemensmitscher #indy500 #indianapolis #aptbs #pinnedworldtour #ustour #repinned Indigenous peoples inhabited the area dating to approximately 2000 BC. In 1818, the Delaware relinquished title to their tribal lands in the Treaty of St. Mary’s. In 1821, Indianapolis was founded as a planned city for the new seat of Indiana's state government. The city was platted by Alexander Ralston and Elias Fordham on a 1 square mile (2.6 km2) grid adjacent to the White River. Completion of the National and Michigan roads and arrival of rail (1847) later solidified the city's position as a manufacturing and transportation hub. Two of the city's nicknames originate from its historical ties to transportation—the “Crossroads of American and “Railroad City”. The Indianapolis metropolitan area is the 34th most populous metropolitan statistical area in the U.S., with 2,028,614 residents. Its combined statistical area ranks 27th, with a population of 2,411,086. Indianapolis covers 368 square miles (950 km2), making it the 16th largest city by land area in the U.S. (at HI-FI Indy) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpLakEUHx4u/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=uibzzmb5z6ob

We are in Columbus, Ohio tonight 10/25 at @aceofcupsbar with @kraustx & #DANA . Doors at 7pm. Columbus’ @closedcap is in love with Pinned: https://closedcap.com/2018/10/24/were-crushing-on-pinned/ Photo by #clemensmitscher #columbus #ohio #aceofcupscolumbus #aptbs #pinnedworldtour #pinned #repinned #aplacetoburystrangers #music #showtime #thursdaynightparty #kraus #dana #closedcap #ustour #tinsoldiersandnixonscoming #howardjones #rascalflatts #bowwow #bizzybone #dwightyoakam #beverlydangelo #joshradnor #philipmichaelthomas #nickswisher #peoplefromcolumbus The area including modern-day Columbus once comprised the Ohio Country under the nominal control of the French colombian empire through the Viceroyalty of New France from 1663 until 1763. In the 18th century, European traders flocked to the area, attracted by the fur trade. The area found itself frequently caught between warring factions, including American Indian and European interests. In the 1740s, Pennsylvania traders overran the territory until the French forcibly evicted them. In the early 1750s, the Ohio Company sent George Washington to the Ohio Country to survey. Fighting for control of the territory in the French and Indian War (1754-1763) became part of the international Seven Years’ War (1756-1763). During this period, the region routinely suffered turmoil, massacres, and battles. The 1763 Treaty of Paris ceded the Ohio Country to the British Empire. After the American Revolution, the Ohio Country became part of the Virginia Military District, under the control of the United States. Colonists from the East Coast moved in, but rather than finding an empty frontier, they encountered people of the Miami, Delaware, Wyandot, Shawnee, and Mingo nations, as well as European traders. The tribes resisted expansion by the fledgling United States, leading to years of bitter conflict. The decisive Battle of Fallen Timbers resulted in the Treaty of Greenville, which finally opened the way for new settlements. By 1797, a young surveyor from Virginia named Lucas Sullivan ha founded a permanent settlement on the west bank of the forks of the Scioto River and Olentangy River. We are in Salt Lake City tonight at @urbanloungeslc with @kraustx & @nosunband . Doors at 8pm. 📸by the wizard #clemensmitscher from @desertdaze_official #dionisawizard #desertdaze2018 #saltlakecity #pinnedworldtour The world headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) is located in Salt Lake City and the city's street grid system is based on the temple constructed by the Church at its center. The city was originally founded in 1847 by Brigham Young, and other followers of the Church, who were seeking to escape religious persecution in the mid-western United States. These Mormon Pioneers, as they would come to be known, at first encountered an arid, inhospitable valley that they then extensively irrigated and cultivated, thereby establishing the foundation to sustain the area's large population of today. Before Mormon settlement, the Shohone, Ute & Paiute had dwelt in the Salt Lake Valley for thousands of years. At the time of Salt Lake City's founding, the valley was within the territory of the Northwestern Shoshone; however, occupation was seasonal, near streams emptying from canyons into the Salt Lake Valley. One of the local Shoshone tribes, the Western Goshute tribe, referred to the Great Salt Lake as Pi'a-pa, meaning "big water", or Ti'tsa-pa, meaning "bad water”. The land was treated by the United States as public domain; no aboriginal title by the Northwestern Shoshone was ever recognized by the United States or extinguished by treaty with the United States. The first U.S. explorer in the Salt Lake area is believed to be Jim Bridger iin 1825, although others had been in Utah earlier, some as far north as the nearby Utah Valley (the Dominguez-Escalante expedition of 1776 were undoubtedly aware of Salt Lake Valley's existence). U.S. Army officer John C. Fremont surveyed the Great Salt Lake and the Salt Lake Valley in 1843 and 1845. The Donner Party, a group of ill-fated pioneers, had traveled through the Great Salt Lake Valley in August 1846. DAY SHOW TODAY 10/27 in Hamilton at @casbahgram Doors at 2pm, @blackbaron at 230pm, @kraus at 315, we’re on at 4pm. Don’t be late! Photo by #clemensmitscher Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. An industrialized city in the Golden Horseshoeat the west end of Lake Ontario, Hamilton has a population of 536,917, and a metropolitan population of 747,545. On January 1, 2001, the new City of Hamilton was formed through the amalgamation of the former city and the other constituent lower-tier municipalities of the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth with the upper-tier regional government.[ <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton,_Ontario#cite_note-amalgprovles-10> Residents of the old city are known as Hamiltonians.[ <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton,_Ontario#cite_note-HAM100-11> Since 1981, the metropolitan area has been listed as the ninth largest in Canada and the third largest in Ontario. Hamilton is home to the Royal Botanical Gardens, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, the Bruce Trail, McMaster University, Redeemer University College and Mohawk College. McMaster University is ranked 4th in Canada and 77th in the world by Times Higher Education Rankings 2018–19 and has a well-known medical school. The town of Hamilton was conceived by George Hamilton(a son of a Queenston entrepreneur and founder, Robert Hamilton) when he purchased farm holdings of James Durand, the local Member of the British Legislative Assembly, shortly after the War of 1812. Nathaniel Hughson, a property owner to the north, cooperated with George Hamilton to prepare a proposal for a courthouse and jail on Hamilton's property. Hamilton offered the land to the crown for the future site. Durand was empowered by Hughson and Hamilton to sell property holdings which later became the site of the town. As he had been instructed, Durand circulated the offers at York during a session of the Legislative Assembly, which established a new Gore District, of which the Hamilton townsite was a member.
