Because much of Danganronpa’s cast is inherently kind of archetypal/cliche, I have found that a lot of them have parallel, equivalent characters in other media which are better written and more compelling, despite often having less screentime and/or relevance. I know comparison isn’t really a healthy way to consume media, but seeing those equivalents just makes me think “wow, if the writers had put just a little bit more pussy into this character, even just a tiny drop more, they could have been like 40% more likable.” Perhaps one day I’ll make a list of some ones I’ve found or whatever.
One notable (and funny) exception is Kaito Momota, who is exactly the same as Clay Terran from Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies with the key difference being you literally never talk to Clay. I think I ended up loving Kaito twice as much just by virtue of this comparison because he’s literally everything Clay is supposed to be.

One thing I find really interesting about the N-Volo interaction is that Volo does acknowledge that Reshiram and Zekrom are legendaries and that N can talk to them ( V: "What beautiful Pokémon! I would expect nothing less from legendary Pokémon! ...And you can understand what they say as well, N?" N: "Yes, of course.") before going on to ask if N can talk to deities. What I got from that is that Volo himself does not consider R+Z as deities despite the fact that I'm pretty sure they're treated as such/similarly in gen 5 (?), which is really interesting to me. Like, to Volo any Legendary or Mythical that is not Arceus is inherently less than regardless of how they are treated or revered by the public. It could always be that Volo doesn't know R+Z are deities, but I personally like the "everything except Arceus is Irrelevant" interpretation more. Adds spice
ooo yeah honestly i completely glossed over this little bit... does make sense for volo to not care about any other powerful pokemon.
but also its really funny for him to see someone wield the power of not one but TWO legendaries from another region and go "ok well. its not the SINNOH legendaries. so they suck and dont matter" HWJBDHHF

You know who's underrated? Reed. Clay's brother who was their Bigwings.
Everytime I reread the first arc im surprised he has an actually defined characters unlike Clay's other siblings. He's only in like one chapter and a prolouge but Sutherland was able to make him a character with depth, which is just really impressive. Reed has a small arc where he gets over his insecurity of being his family's bigwings when it should of been Clay and it so sweet how his siblings comfort him.
In short Reed deserves more discussion and attention. ESPECIALLY explorations between him and Clay.

Being an artist with adhd is like, arguing with yourself:
“okay. So. We have nothing going on today and tomorrow. We should work on that polymer clay project” uncontrolled part of my brain “but i don’t want to use clay today” “but we have time, we need to work on it and we are tired of puzzles!” “What about that tiny painting we had planned?” “What about it?”
Three hours later:
“I… made a tiny painting. I WASN’T TRYING TO MAKE A TINY PAINTING TODAY!!! I was going to remake the stuff I burned!” “What stuff?” “NOW I FORGOT THE STUFF?!” “It’s okay, we have pictures” “I’m using two sketchbooks at a time from now on. One for here and one for on the go” “okay, but what if we used a third sketchbook for not sketchy projects? The 3d stuff?” “I mean… wait, WE WERE ALREADY TRYING THAT!”

since tumblr and/or youtube has all but killed the ability to curate a music collection on this site, here is my jazz playlist. It's meant to be accessible to people who know nothing of jazz and it's eclectic, featuring early standards, swing, blues, bebop, hard bop, modal, cool, bossa nova, hip-hop fusion, and contemporary

Which of the sun children is it again that feels guilty because some other ppl are hated bc he's a puppethead or something
OH WAIT THAT I'VE ACTUALLY BEEN THINKING ABOUT THE LAST TIME I TALKED ABOUT THEM
Like, I think that most of the Sunchildren have some sort of guilt when it comes to being in their position, and I know that I've talked about Rikoru, the first Sunchild, feeling a bit of that guilt at least when he made one of his big role models get arrested. The way I imagined it was like his role model trying to save Rikoru from his position as puppethead, but then the Jibashiri arresting him for being a threat to Rikoru's position. So Rikoru winds up holding guilt for that and even questions if he should even be in this position of power in the first place, to which the Jibashiri assure (with added stuff behind the scenes of the Jibashiri questioning about the ages of the Sunchildren and how long they ought to be in power for etcetc)
If I had to rank guilt to least guilt for the Sunchildren, it'd probably be like:
Risutaiosu
Ion
Rikoru
Orupeusu
Surepio
Pirumamon
Isumenasu
I have Risutaiosu actually as the most anxious of the 7 kids. I'm still trying to decide the ordering of the kids that would flow correctly, but for him, I had thought about Risutaiosu hearing about the last Sunchildren and then being overwhelmed between duties as a Sunchild + the general opinion of the public towards the Sunchildren. And because of what happened with him, after Risutaiosu loses his power, the Jibashiri agree to avoid talking about the past Sunchildren in fear of overwhelming the kid the way they did Risutaiosu
Ion I actually had as the followup kid behind Risutaiosu. He may not know what happened to the Sunchildren prior to him, but he still hears the public's opinion. This would actually lead him to picking up fortune telling and the desire to tell happier fortunes for the people (even if it's a lie).
Rikoru I've talked about. Orupeusu I think is aware of his position and how the Sunchildren came to be and what is to become of them at the end. He's just a lot more aware of his situation (as to how he got this info noooo idea). The final three are mooostly ignorant about their situation with Isumenasu being the least guilty because he has no reason to doubt himself I think. And Isumenasu may be the most arrogant of the kids.

I have seen you reblog college craze posts so I have to ask... who do you think is the stalker? 👀👀👀
Omg!! So! My top theory is it’s Alan. Just because we don’t know much about him yet and he hasn’t talked with mc much/at all depending on choices. And he’s an alumni so he’d have a ring like mc finds outside her window. And I also think he’s the person Blair is holding hands with on her lockscreen on her phone which is sketchy bc she’s also acting sketchy and idk Alan just makes so much sense to me lol
My backup theories if it’s not Alan is it’s the Dean or the professor just using a voice changer.
If it’s not one of those 3 I’ll genuinely be shocked 👀

You Matter!
Some things just don’t change…..but wouldn’t it be great if they did? The first two kids, Cain and Abel, born from the first two parents, Adam and Eve, couldn’t get along. In fact, their sibling rivalry led to the death of Abel. Fast forward to the dad, Jacob, and Joseph, his son (his favorite son — okay, that’s already screaming “TROUBLE”). Why would a dad ever favor one of his kids over the…
