(RecycledPost) @thekillers early years... Running out of ideas of lineups for the band. Decided do a few retakes. Glad to see the building still there. But it’s been repainted... #smilelikeyoumeanit#vegas#lasvegas#lasvegasweekly#scene#vegashideout#nvfilmoffice#nevadafilm#olloclip#iphoneonly#lasvegasnevada#classiclasvegas#movielocations#wanderlust#igerslvo#LiveTravelChannel#capturethescene#welcometolasvegas#hotfuss#battlebornstudios#battleborn#thevictims#markstoermer#music #nvfilm #filmnv #thekillers (at Las Vegas, Nevada) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGaH_NNnhcW/?igshid=q1fvo25betqh

Caesars Palace Grand Prix, 1981.
The temporary 2.1-mile circuit utilized nearly all of Caesars parking space, and an empty lot owned by Summa Corp. F1 World Championship was here ‘81-82. In ‘83-84 it became the CART Indy car series with a different track layout.
I was living there. There was a dirt lane behind the building where we parked. The first day of the race, all of those parking spots and most of the dirt lot that ran from our building east to the Castaways was filled with cars. Of course, Vegas Plaza Drive was full too. We were basically prisoners because if we left we wouldn't have been able to find a place to park. At least 30 residents called the police about the situation. It was awful, noisy, too. - Robin Diamond
