Teenage Shouto talking about his older brother that's "very emotional" and "is a big cry baby". Everyone in Class 1-A, especially those who have met Fuyumi, imagines Touya as this adorable angel who could do no wrong.

Cut to two weeks later and a black haired, piercing filled man with the most shit eating of smirks is seen at the entrance of the school, about to pick up Shouto. He almost got Bakugou to blow up one of the walls and definitely got the number of visiting pro hero Hawks while he was waiting for Shouto's class to end.

Class 1-A is very, very confused. This is the crybaby older brother Shouto was talking about?? Bitch where???

This feels out of character for most of Class 1A. Even when most of them outright refused to help save Bakugou in the Kamino Arc, they at least heard out what their classmates had to say.

It's clear that later Horikoshi was trying to set up the class as a found family/mutual support system. It makes sense there would be some ribbing about Izuku and Bakugou's fight past curfew. But it's weird they all went straight to condemning them both without any of them asking a few follow up questions.

Girls Night

Class 1-A Girls + fem!reader; platonic/best friends relationship, fluff, childhood nostalgia, mentions of growing up (thematically), sleepover clichés !!

notes: ive been listening to a lot of those mha youtube playlists recently? and they’ve been getting me in the mood for some fluffy friendship clichés !! wishing my friends would do this kinda stuff with me fr, but we’ll cope thru some self-indulgent fanfiction instead :’)

You sat in the common room of the dorms, your favorite pair of pj pants adorning your legs.

The commons were currently booming with laughter and music, chatter bouncing from wall to wall.

With UA having finally decided to give you hero students a “rest week,” the class 1-A girls (more specifically, Mina) deemed it essential to have a sleepover at least one of the nights.

So, here you were, embracing the loving chaos around you.

You leaned forward on the couch, reaching with one hand to try and grab your phone, but were yanked back by the invisible girl trying to finish doing your hair.

“Y/N, I told you to SIT. STILL.” Tohru said, poking your back jokingly.

“Fine, fine,” you whined, resuming your position against the couch, a smile forming on your face. “I was just trying to check something real quick-”

“You can check it later!” Mina shouted, “Now's our time to have fun! And we better be enjoying it to the fullest after all that arguing I had to do with Aizawa-sensei!”

Through her shouts, you can see her dancing to the soundtrack you’d all contributed to.

Although everyone wanted to pitch-in with some of their favorites, Kyouka inevitably had the last say in what would make it to the final product.

And, at least to you, she’d done a pretty good job.

The songs blaring were all nostalgia-ridden, upbeat, and reminded you of some distant childhood memory that you couldn't quite recall.

As you watched Mina dance to her heart's content across the room, you thought for a moment that you could almost see a shadow of your younger self dancing along with her to these songs.

Sitting on the ground below you, leaning against the couch, Momo laughed at Mina’s antics while carefully touching up the polish on Ochaco’s nails.

“I’m sure Aizawa-sensei doesn’t mind our little party, as long as we clean up properly in the morning.”

“Maybe we could convince the boys to clean up for us,” you joked.

“No way!” Ochaco giggled back. “I can imagine Bakugo’s screams already.”

You could imagine the blonde busting out his lungs before you even finished asking your question to him,

“Maybe we just don't ask him,” you suggest.

Suddenly the weight on the couch shifted, as Mina plopped down beside you, grabbing a sip of water before adding to the conversation.

“Trust me, I don't think any of those boys will help out voluntarily.”

The topic carried on as you girls debated who, out of the 1-A boys, would be kind enough to help you clean up come morning.

Although some decisions were unanimous, several times a few of you would get into mock-arguments, standing up for your "knowledge" of your peers.

As things between Kyouka and Mina were getting intense over whether or not Kaminari would help, the sweet smell of delicious food suddenly came wafting towards the group.

You looked over at the hall to see Tsu standing there, returning from her earlier escapade to the kitchen.

“I thought we were missing some snacks, so I made what I could. Ribbit.” Tsu chimed, holding a tray filled with an assortment of you girls’ favorite treats.

“TSU- YOU. ARE. THE. BEST!” Tohru squealed, releasing her death grip on your hair.

You saw her onesie race towards the snacks instantaneously , and took that as a sign that your new up-do was likely complete - for now, at least.

With all your mouths full of laughter, messed up song lyrics, and half-eaten snacks, the night carried on until sleep eventually caught up to you all one by one.

As you finally flopped onto the couch, eyes fluttering asleep, you found yourself grateful for the night you'd had.

This is what little-Y/N always dreamt of. Thank you, my best friends.. for making this dream of hers come true.

That night, you went into your night of dreams with a smile on your face, and with a little girl watching you from a distance, smiling and over you from afar.

The ending chapter...

You know how there's all these people who are upset about it and are bringing up how Monoma got a statue and he was left alone and unrecognized?

The story has several narrators throughout all it's arcs, but it's mostly Izuku telling the story.

I think what happened was a misinterpretation from the readers who suddenly decided that poor Izuku had been left alone and unrecognized.

Everyone takes it for granted, due to lack of evidence, but our narrator is Izuku, who does not give himself enough credit so his own recognition ceremonies, to his humility, made him think that they were not just for him but his whole class and whoever battled alongside him.

Who had to radically change his career when he thought his free trial was over and didn't realize how hard his friends worked to help his best friend rival, who couldn't be No.1 without him.

He thought that his contribution had been temporary and that everyone had moved forward without him when they were making a fa-quin-type effort to push him back to everyone's level.

Someone who thinks that calling their friends after their turn as heroes is bothering them and prefers not to do so unless they talk to them and is content with text messages or chance encounters.

Izuku just made a mental switch to his quirkless self, which is unimportant and left his hero self, which is important and has friends aside. That's what happened, that's why it seems like a bad ending, that's why the scene where they give him back his place and remind him that he earned it was necessary, because it's not important to him, but it is important to everyone else.

Here's where the point of view has to be considered cause, take for a moment Katsuki's point of view, he knows Izuku is like this, and he would expect him leaving all of the highlights of his life out of an autobiography, only to ask for the honor to do an epilogue that includes all of that in a way that Izuku would never be able to avoid and gives us a glimpse of how big the ceremony was, how much snot he had to wipe from this crybaby hero and all the additional ways that Hero Deku impacted the country further than the one statue he also had, including the promotion of the documentary where they had added commentaries of what had happened during the war where he and all the alumni of class A, including Eraserhead and All Might about his performance and handling of more than one quirk during that batte, that led to the design of the just presented support armor he was wearing nowadays since he was reinstated as a Pro-Hero.

Oh God, how I hope that's what we'll read tomorrow!

you know i have read a lot of my hero academia fics now. and i have read about these children in all sorts of scenarios. coffee shops and florists and tattoo studios and fantasy worlds where bakugou fucks dragons but you know the one thing i haven't seen? a band au. and it's like. the one thing that's literally canon. these children are in a band and the band is good. why am i not seeing 200 fics about the kids working as pro heroes and then playing gigs on the weekends and being interviewed on present mic's radio show and writing songs about their feelings and their hero work and one particular song called "fuck you sex pollen quirk guy" which is dedicated to a specific villain they took down but will not answer questions about. where are my 20k touring band fics and 10k outsider perspective rolling stone fics and my jokes about drummers being hot and how the entire class crams into that tour bus even though there's only like 5 people in the band because they all insist that the band is actually 20 people big, even if everyone else is only there to dance and take selfies backstage. where are my 3k oneshots where they argue about changing the band name because "a band" is hilarious for a one off but mostly bad and bakugou gets all 14 of his band names turned down because each one is some sort of play on "murder apocalypse doom squad". where is my kirishima attending a gig and falling for the drummer au. my jirou x yaomomo secret relationship au. my story about aizawa being increasingly confused about why he spent 3 years training these children to be heroes only for them to all quit and become musicians au. please. canon gave us a gift. has it been sqaundered???

Don’t get me wrong, everyone is somebody’s fave and I’m glad for the people rooting for the underdogs/less popular characters that their fave made it but I find it kinda hard to believe that EVERYONE in Class A “made it” as a Pro.

Like, yes I know UA is the best hero school in Japan (certainly the most famous and revered) but that doesn’t mean the hero-success rate is a hundred percent

Nobody tried hero work for a while and then realized their passion/calling was elsewhere? No one got injured and had to take a step back? No one started a family? No one graduated but couldn’t keep up with the big leagues and eventually just settled for lower-level sidekick work or just quit heroing altogether?

With a dissolvement of the hero charts I might find it more believable but with the system left so intact as it is, the Pro Hero pool is more competitive than ever…

I get Horikoshi probably wanted to tie everything up with a nice little bow (was never gonna happen if the villains couldn’t be saved) but 20 (21 if you count Shinso) out of 20 becoming successful pros?? 🤨

One day, Aizawa decides to check that his students aren't relying too heavily on their quirks, and that they'd still be able to hold their own in a fight should their quirks be erased.

What ensues is a brawl where Bakugou, Ojiro and Kirishima emerge victorious, and everyone else is sentenced to weeks of hand-to-hand training led by them.

Ojiro is especially happy. He's never felt so validated.
